a/n: this one hurt <3 thank you for the request! i had a lot of fun writing it. sorry it took a moment, the covid exhaustion has hit hard.

“Please stay,” You whisper when Alex emerges from Reid’s apartment building.

She stills in surprise, looking at you with wide eyes as she swallows roughly. She hadn’t expected you to follow her.

You’d given her distance on the jet, thinking it was the right thing to do, but from the moment Hotch’s phone had chimed, you guessed what was occurring, and the flicker of panic on her face when she saw you only confirmed it, and you weren’t about to let it happen.

She can’t hold your gaze, the guilt coursing through her too powerful. She desperately tries to hide it, but it’s impossible to miss when you’re watching her so closely.

“I know it’s selfish. I know this case was hell, and it’s trudged up some complicated feelings but please.”

The tears that fill your eyes aren’t surprising, but those in Alex’s are.

“I can’t stay.” She shakes her head, a desperation to the action that makes your chest ache.

You squeeze your eyes shut, refusing to let your tears fall.

“I can’t let you go.”

She exhales slowly, and steps close, finally within proper reach. Her hand comes up and hesitates for a moment before she gently cups your cheek.

Her thumb delicately sweeps across the skin. “I’m sorry,” She sighs.

You open your eyes. She’s closer than she’s ever been; you can see the texture of her skin and a spec of lighter, almost honey, brown in her eyes you’ve never noticed before, but it’s her lips that your attention settles on.

You thought there was time.

“In another life, we could have been something amazing.” She whispers so quietly that if you weren’t so close, the words would be lost to the wind.

Your tears finally fall, and Alex leans in, replacing her hand with her lips, leaving a gentle kiss against your cheek before she pulls back.

“Why does it have to be another life? Why not this one?”

She shakes her head, imploring you to understand. “I can’t stay here.”

“I—” You choke, the words cut off in a sob.

She exhales, attempting to ward off her own emotions as she rests her forehead against yours.

“I’m really going to miss you.” You finally manage, your breath blowing against her lips.

She’s silent apart from her shaky breathing, so you pull back to look at her and find silent tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Alex,”

She shakes her head, sniffing as she wipes at her cheeks and takes a step backwards. “I should get going.”

You grasp her forearm before she can walk away.

“Alex,”

“My flight is soon. I need to—”

You touch her cheek, guiding her face back around to look at you. “Alex,”

She stills, a battle in her eyes as she looks at you, and then she’s leaning forward and seizing your lips with hers.

Your hand tightens on her cheek as you kiss her back, and her hands clutch at your sides, bringing you flush against her. You sob, but the sound is muffled by her mouth as the world fades away. The only thing you’re capable of noticing is her. Her lips move delicately with yours, a dance you’ll never get the time to perfect.

You’ve imagined this moment in hundreds of different ways, but never did you fit with her like this, like your bodies were made to be together. It’s a way you've never fit with anyone else before, and you know you never will again.

“I’ve got to go.” She whispers, pulling back with tears still trickling down her cheeks.

You want to say it desperately. Hoping for the fairytale where she decides this is enough, that staying for you is worth it.

But this isn’t a fairytale.

It’s real life.

You swallow back your words, nodding shakily. Her lipstick is smeared, mauve spread past the border of her mouth, and you use your thumb to gently wipe it away.

Your thumb stills on her bottom lip, both of you caught in the other's gaze, breathing healthily, and then you’re kissing again.

You’re putty in her hands, sighing softly as her lips move with yours. Kissing her is all-consuming; you feel alive and at home, and it isn’t fair because as your tears mingle together and the kisses slow down, you know that this is really goodbye.

When you separate this time, she steps backwards, putting distance between you both. She smiles sadly, taking in the perfection of your kiss-swollen lips.

“Goodbye, Alex.” You whisper hoarsely.

“Goodbye, Sweetheart.”

And then she walks away.

A/N: So I may have gone down a Criminal Minds rabbit hole... @temilyrights finally got her wish. It started with the Evolution season (obviously) and now I'm watching it all from the beginning. This drabble came about because I saw that scene, THAT scene a certain way and it went from there.

Warning: Light Smut

Sum: Emily is in charge in every room except sometimes she lets you take the lead.

You heard it and you saw it but you still couldn’t believe it. The Emily Prentiss you knew behind closed doors was very similar to the one in the interrogation room right now. She took no prisoners which was why it made her such an incredible Section Chief and an even better lover. Except there was one line she draw in permanent ink, no sex at work. That changed when she exited the interrogation and was confronted by you in her office. She saw it in your eyes as soon as she looked at you which was why she immediately closed the door.

“You know my one rule..” Her voice was velvet, she was taunting you.

“You know I know.”

She looked you up and down, resting her back on the door, she was keeping her distance which is why you were on the opposite side of the room. You weren’t going to be the one to cross her rule out, she had to. “Then get that look off your face and get back to work.”

You smirked, her voice, her stance. She was on thin ice. “That an order?”

Her lips scrunched up, trying to hide a smile. “Don’t be a cheeky shit. You know I’ll fuck that smile right off our face when we get home.” Her hands turned into fists by her side. She wasn’t hiding her sexual frustration well.

You closed the distance, stepping into her personal space. “You didn’t answer my question Em?”

The air shot out of her lungs and her will gave way. “They will hear you; you know.”

“Oh, you thought you were going down on me in your office?” You saw the realisation in her eyes and heard the moan from her lips as your hands found her body. “Tell me it’s ok, tell me you want me to.” Your lips ghosted over the skin at the base of her neck, her cleavage begging for your face.

Her will broke when your fingers tugged at her shirt not so gently and touched her skin. “You have five minutes and if we get caught, you’re so fir-ed” Her voice turned all breathy as you slid down her body. “Oh so fired.”

“Then don’t make a sound and next time you can go down on me where ever you want..”

She was all breath and silent moans as you made her come right against her office door not once but twice. You held her up as her legs collapsed and prayed no one was walking by. “Baby…” She sighed and cupped your cheek.

Her sated expression was enough to bring you to the edge after watching her come on your mouth and fingers. “Don’t worry we still have a minute to spare for you to get dressed.”

“A little help would be nice.” She sighed, still unable to move and that gave you all the satisfaction in the world.

“Anything for you.”

It's all friends and casual with no intentions anywhere... until it isn't and you both start to separately realize there could be something more. Was it lucky chance or was it actually destiny? you as deep talks that come at such random moments so neither you or your interlocutor are prepared but the convo is so good you end up putting your whole schedule on hold and never reget it even if you stood in the middle of a doorway for two hours and caught a cold from it

you as the tale of the princess kaguya. the divine one. protagonist is from the moon. gets many marriage proposals but would rather stay alone with her garden. has a kind childhood friend who wants to run away with her. very cunning, sometimes a bit cold but feels deeply. review

@originalvampireslut as castle in the sky. the punk one. protagonist is an abducted princess. gets chased by pirates but later befriends them. has a cool friend who’d literally die for her and follow her anywhere. damn fearless, has trust issues but not regarding her own instincts. review

@ropoto as the wind rises. the sober one. protagonist is a kind workaholic. gets send to another country but returns for their loved one. has a talented partner who loves them unconditionally. determined, usually stoic but with a soft heart. review

@sadgirlml as my neighbor totoro. the tender one. protagonist is excited by everything. gets told to not be selfish but is a misunderstood selfless sunshine. has nice neighbors who’ll always help her out. busy bee, cutie pie and very very soft. review

@temilyrights as spirited away. the weird one. protagonist is on an acid trip. gets forced into labour but really only has to work for a day. has a friend who’s a dragon but also a river they once fell in as a child. open-minded, very shy but grows more confident in the process. review

@emforevermore as kiki’s delivery service. the sanguine one. protagonist is a witch. gets stranded in an unknown city but makes friends right away. has a lil black pessimistic cat who balances out her personality perfectly. very eager to learn, kind and generous. review

@ tiana my guess is that princess mononoke is your favorite so i refrained from assigning that to anyone hehe. i’ve only watched 11 ghibli movies as of now so this is not conclusive but i do feel like they fit quite well. let me know your thoughts!
