LU Star Wars AU: Part 5
LAST BUT NOT LEAST ITS TIME AND SKY LETS GO
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4
Tumblr media
Time
Time is a direct survivor of Order 66. He was a child living in one of the more remote temples when everything happened, and was able to escape alive by fleeing into the dense forests of the planet.
Time spent many years after that traveling on his own and not getting close to anyone out of fear of being found out, or worse, left behind. He holds a certain bitterness towards everything that's happened, and when he was a teenager, he was involved in a major incident on the planet Termina. Time finally decided to bury his saber on a remote planet after that, unwilling to take on the responsibility that comes with it.
Time actually ended up meeting Sheik and donning Mandalorian armor some time after that in his teenage years. He doesnt always gel with Mandalorian warrior ideaology, but he doesn’t truly fit the Jedi way of his childhood anymore either, after all the war and death he’s seen. He's determined to be strong enough to protect those he cares about, like Malon.
Time doesn't entirely get along with the Chain at first. (Especially Warriors and Twilight; Warriors reminds him of his old Jedi master, who wore a red scarf, and Twilight's saber looks suspiciously familiar.) The boys eventually grew on him anyway, and he counts them among the people he cares about.

Sky
Sky comes from a gaseous planet in the Outer Rim with settlements that float in the clouds, constructed far above its surface.
Sky's planet is a bit of a cosmic mystery, since it should be impossible for islands of solid rock to float; some theorize that it was constructed instead of naturally occurring, or that there is a unique combination of magnetic fields and orbits that make it possible, but no one knows for certain. Loftwings are part of the planet's ecosystem of impossible floating islands, and are an important part of the culture there.
Being so remote, the Empire didn't show much interest in Sky's home planet until Ghirahim showed up. The Empire hasn’t taken over his home yet, and he is determined to keep it that way, along with the rest of the Knights of Skyloft (including Sun). Ghirahim's interest in the planet involved rumors that there was an old Jedi temple hidden on its surface, and the secrets that were hidden within it.
Those rumors turned out to be true; there was an ancient abandoned temple on one of the floating islands, and Sky and Sun ended up discovering it before Ghirahim did. Sky also found a protocol droid named F1, and with Fi's help he and Sun managed to forge their own sabers with the only remaining kyber crystals there.
Sky's connection to the Force manifests mostly as visions, and he occasionally experiences strange, cryptic dreams as a result.

Obsessed with Lloyd never mentioning his grandfather is the First Spinjitsu Master, apparently to the point even Arin didn't seem to know, because "eh, it never came up". Cause like, yeah, sure, my grandfather is God, what of it? Normal day for me. Shit happens. My dad is also evil, you wanna talk about that? I sure don't.
It's also funny from a character arc perspective. Here's itty bitty baby first season Lloyd, loudly proclaiming he's the son of Garmadon, and probably also making sure everyone knows he's God part 3 electric boogaloo. And then one Tomorrow's Tea and a few more years later and he's doing everything physically possible to NOT care about his heritage. In fact he'd probably rather his parentage was literally anyone else. Dude could care so less he forgets about it most of the time. King behavior.

hey guys….. i redesigned moruka a tad bit….. (i wanted it to look a little more “zoralike”… idk it looked way too much like its in game counterpart)
Tumblr media
anyways infodump below cut:
(also i already have been gushing about this fanfic for like. idk how long but uhhh most of the info was based off of this ig??? + the peepaw fanfic…)
8 years prior to the attack of the Calamity, Astor found Sakiru in the Spirit Temple, and introduced him to the Blights (who have personalities for some reason in this au…)
Moruka was just an infant at the time, too.
Sakiru grew close to the Temple Bosses very quickly, and they developed a “Grandfather-Grandchildren” dynamic.
I don’t know how the Temple Scourges/Blights lived for the 100 years it took for Link to awaken LMAOOOO (but im assuming it’s magic)
Because the Blights were conspiring with the Yiga Clan to resseruct Calamity Ganon (The Blights were actually looking for Ganondorf. They are aware that the Calamity is a leak from the seal holding Ganondorf, but can’t locate the source), the Temple Scourges were practically members of the Yiga Clan.
Moruka doesn’t have bones lol
Also, Moruka does still have its muck shark form, except it’s much more “zora-like” (I was too lazy to draw a reference)
After the Blights were defeated by Link (They die just like they do in the OG game. lol karma), the Temple Bosses were very well aware of their parent’s deaths. The death of the Blights motivated them to find Ganondorf.
They succeeded, doing what the Blights could not. However, it wasn’t until the Upheaval that Ganondorf broke from his seal.
Shortly afterwards, Ganondorf SOMEHOW communicated to them, he saw potential in the Temple Bosses. He then tasked them with seizing the Sacred Stones, to spread his influence.
They of course, did, their powers amplifying to the point where it can affect whole regions. However, the power of the Sacred Stones mutated the Temple Bosses (example: Gyba used to look like a normal Gerudo, but taking the Sacred Stone caused her to gain buglike traits, and a vulnerability to the elements.)
Moruka’s mutation was less on the outside and more internal, their bodies producing excessive muck, causing it to throw up muck occasionally. It’s also quite painful for it, and sometimes causes breathing difficulties
After Link defeated the Temple Scourges with the Sages, they died and became resurrected by the Blood Moon, becoming effectively immortal until Ganondorf dies.
However, Sakiru was the only Scourge to not get resurrected by Ganondorf. Obviously, the Scourges were literally depressed post-TOTK. (i mean… their dads are dead, so their grandpa had to adopt them… and he fucking died too lmao)

There's a whole anti hindutva anti casteist pro LGBTQ desiblr space going strong on tumblr AND I HAD NO IDEA!
Tell me why I was so fckn upset over all of desiblr suddenly being bigoted and casteist when there's a whole faction of cool desis just thriving on here? The only good thing that stupid fckn m*ndir did was show me who to trust on desiblr, ngl

ohhhhh bad thought
In the novel, NMJ’s corpse isn’t waiting there in the coffin, right? He shows up at the temple on his own power?
So if that’s the case, do we know when NHS removed MS’s body?
Could he conceivably have done it not as a final twist of the knife once his revenge plot is in motion, but years ago out of sheer spite while NMJ’s body was still missing? Could JGY have been happily watching people make offerings to help his mother’s soul and all the while NHS sat there basking in the vindictive satisfaction of knowing that none of it was helping?

"Scholars often dismiss physique references to ancient Greece as a mere ruse or rhetorical framework--a "classical alibi" or "discourse of validation"--to avoid censorship. But an examination of the lives of the founders, contributors, and members of the [physique studio and pictorial] Grecian Guild [1955-1968] tells a different story. The Grecian Guild was instrumental in helping a community of men struggling to find a discourse to explain and valorize their sense of themselves, particularly men outside of urban gay enclaves. Benson and Bullock [the founders of the Grecian Guild] took a discourse about ancient Greece that gay men had been using for nearly a hundred years and gave it mass distribution. They used it like gay men used reference to "the Greeks" or Mary Renault novels--as a way to signal their homosexuality. It was a rallying cry that brought in customers and helped them imagine a better world. As historian and biographer Benjamin Wise argues about the way Alexander Percy used the language of Hellenism, it was "a way of speaking out and covering up at the same time."
Invoking classical traditions in order to make an argument for gay rights has been largely forgotten in the twenty-first century, as such a line of argumentation has become politically and historiographically problematic. Indeed, much of modern LGBT historical scholarship and queer theory has asserted that a homosexual identity is a creation of a modern, capitalist world--that homosexual behavior in ancient cultures was understood in very different terms from the way it is today. Invoking classical antiquity also smacks of a Western bias that privileges European ancestry over other cultural and historical influences. Such arguments also raise the specter of pederasty and pedophilia--or at least age-discordant relationships--that play into the hands of gay rights opponents who relentlessly use the argument that gays recruit children to fight gay rights measures...
Despite these changes in cultural understandings and sensibilities, the use of the classical Greek trope to name gay organizations, periodicals, and commercial ventures continued for decades, even when the need for an alibi had eroded if not disappeared. The lambda or lowercase Greek "L" became one of the primary symbols of the 1970s gay liberation movement. During this same period Seattle's largest gay organization was the Dorian Group, and a Jacksonville, Florida-based gay magazine called itself David--a reference to Michelangelo's Renaissance statue--an indirect link to the classical tradition. Like the Grecian Guild, David offered membership in a fraternal organization with features such as a book club, a travel service, conventions, and even legal aid. As an online website, it continues to serve as one of Atlanta's premier LGBT news and entertainment sources.
...
While severely limited by the forces of censorship, the desire to create opportunities for customers to correspond, meet, and get acquainted attests to the palpable wish of gay men to connect with each other during this period. If few members attended a Grecian Guild convention, the possibility of doing so resonated widely. As a teenage Grecian Guild subscriber in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Michael Denneny read the articles so carefully that he underlined the important parts. "That was proto-political organization, the agenda was very clear to me, and I think to everybody else who joined," Denneny remembered..."These magazines were really important to me," Denneny recalled. "They brought this whole possible world into being, which I'm not sure I could have visualized otherwise."

One of my pet peeves lately has been people forgetting that eccentric rich people have always existed and always do stupid shit with their money that never actually takes off.
No, a tech startup that would "let people keep working via lucid dreaming" is not a sign of something something oncoming capitalist hellscape. You've legitimately lost the plot if you think the average person would think that's a good idea worth pursuing. Just because some rich idiot made it doesn't mean that's a sign of things to come.
I do partially blame the sensationalist clickbait articles about these startups. Like people should know better anyway, but now these ideas are reported on as serious innovations. It used to be news articles about the exploits of eccentric rich people were basically a "Get A Load Of This Guy Cam."

man. totk couldve been so good
#thinking of the links awakening sequel to alttp post and how games contrast/mirror each other#i cant say totk was super close to it. well maybe it was based on the first trailer but not anymore !#there were moments to be sure (sky island music + the great sky island) but the bulk of it is. Not#it feels less of a sequel to botw and more like a spinoff game. the world is hollow when you see the cracks and the cracks are Everywhere#npcs are wrong the structure is more linear (the great sky island for ex) the replacement of the sheikah with the zonai but it not working#due to the fact that the sheikah are still referenced and its the Same Place where literally all of the events of botw and prior happened#like. it Could In Theory Work but its trying to erase the sheikahs presence entirely which. no!! thats not how that works??#instead of mirroring or parallel and highlighting them Both it tries to scrub one out over the other#the emphasis on a Greater Past- botw focusing on 100 years prior which he and zelda and the champions and. The World have a connection to#vs totk doing more than 10000 years prior which would Seem better at first glance but it informs nothing about hyrule and nothing meaningfu#l was lost. its just a set piece to show rauru and sonias conflict with ganondorf#theres no. Connections. like it doesnt matter to ganondorf hes just oOoOoo evil and it somehow doesnt affect his goals or motives#the sky islands cant imply any context because there Is no context theyre just scattered ruins with no significance#rauru laments about the constructs but Thats It. everything is just there to be cool#especially the old temple of time/the temple of time in the sky. Why does that exist at all#its like. i wish any of this stuff was important At All but you can tell its not.#sorry for the hater post i just think its neat how botw informs totk and how totk ended up Like That. How.
