What Earthspark Could've Been

Back at it again ranting about this show like it's a parasite that keeps gnawing at my brain. And yes, this will ignore season two because DUH

Anyway, one of the biggest missed potentials the show fumbled hard was actually exploring what a war means to the children who come after it.

I had foolishly assumed that half the terrans would stay with the Maltos and the other half would somehow end up raised by the Decepticons.

The Malto Terrans would be on the side of the "winners". Raised on stories of glory and taught that Decepticons are these wholly evil beings that are rarely able to be reasoned with if at all. You'd still get the typical cute little episodes like in season one with them learning about the world, but the big shift would be the "birth" of the others.

Hashtag and Nightshade would now be found and taken in by the Decepticons. Jawbreaker going with the Maltos (probably accidently wandered off first).

Now, if you SUCK at writing, you could just have Hashtag and Nightshade in this story basically pull this scene from Megamind. (Police = Autobots, Burglar = Decepticons)

Instead, they're raised on pure survival. Of course each gaining a guardian who, instead of being written as these assholes who don't give a shit, legit care about these new terrans and want to bring back Cybertron, avenge their comrades, and provide them with a future that isn't under the thumb of the Autobots or humans.

From there you'd get the conflict from the new generation, both given only biased ideas of the other side. Twitch, Thrash and Jawbreaker seeing the Con Terrans as schemers who are just bitter and uninformed about the truth of their side's interest. And Hashtag and Nightshade seeing the Malto Terrans as these authoritarian enforces who don't care about their species and their plight to get Cybertron fixed.

This isn't perfect and there are plenty of flaws, but like in real life there are children born after wars who have to navigate the world whether or not their side won or lost and try to find their place within it.

Color scheme ideas for SG Twitch in Electric Souls' sixth and last chapter? Some description is required...

Other SG terrans', trying to avoid big overlap;

Thrash — Black and gold with canon Twitch's eye and chest light color. Maybe silverish base?

Twitch — No idea. I briefly considered TFP Soundwave-y colors, but in hindsight that propably wouldn't look good. It's hard to come up with shades of blue that don't look gross....

Nightshade — Brass with red eyes. Gold-ish secondary. Not sure about base color.

Hashtag — Military green with yellow visor and eyes. Not sure if the base color changes or not.

Jawbreaker — No idea either.

(Also, Jawbreaker's colors.... he won't appear in Electric Souls because he'll be born later, but still.... He's an edgy punk child)

I decided to try and visualise this since I already had my program open:

Tada! Your colour ideas (at least i hope you meant those colours) up top for Thrash, Nightshade, and Hashtag, as well as my attempt at giving Twitch and Jawbreaker some colours. Hopefully the visuals work but then again there's room to miss the mark-

Looking at base terrans, they kinda have two different 'skin' (what I'm assuming you called base) tones, either silverish or greeny-blue though I suppose I might not have gone to extremes here. Gave Hashtag her original base colour give or take but I tried to give Nightshade a greeny tone for their base, kinda taking the brass and turning to copper rust for inspiration. It looks fine on my screen at least, but do give your thoughts.

Seeing as how you got gold for Thrash (kinda yellowish here), brass for Nightshade (something orangey), and military green for Hashtag (which lends to being a more yellowy green), I thought maybe Twitch and Jawbreaker would be on the opposite end of the colour wheel in the blues, purples, and magentas, so I tried it out. You said you were initially going for Soundwave-ish kinda colours for Twitch but thought the blue sucked, so I kinda made it a much lighter blue? Going off of SG Jawbreaker's punk vibe according to this ask I thought a dark purple would do well, the pink horns maybe giving punk idk I thought it would look cool as a bright pop of colour and since it's punk not goth you said bright pink horns (and bright blue-green optics) could look punky without stepping on Thrash's toes in the black paint department.

I also looked at optic colour variation even if technically canon Thrash and Hashtag both have blue optics, so including the bright blue-green cyan of Jawbreaker's eyes, I gave Twitch some lilac coloured optics to once again contrast with the three terran optic colours you've already provided.

The Malto family finding out Nightshade was Quintus Prime was something like:

Nightshade: Guys! Mom! Dad! Look at my new friend!

Dot: Aw, how cute!

Twitch: Isn´t that the training gadget you did but with antennae and claws?

Nightshade: Is actually the Emberstone! I found some of her dust in the mountain and kept it to study it, and then, she took control over it

Alex: Did you say Emberstone?

Hashtag: What do you mean with 'her'?

Emberstone, in a robotic voice: Greetings, Maltos, I am what remains of the Emberstone, but my dear Prime call me Ember for short, you can as well, and also I chose the she/it pronouns for fast identification, but any kind or none pronouns are also okay

Nightshade: Isn´t Ember super cool?

All: ...

Trash: dude, what the-?

Jawbreaker: COOOOOL!!!! So, the Emberstone has a conciseness?

Ember: I always had, but only reveal to the ones I trust the most, and due to my trust to my Prime, I trust in you

Mo: Who´s supposed to be "my Prime", did you talk with Optimus?

Ember: I pay no service or hint from any other living being except from Primus and my Prime, Quintus

Robby: ...and that means...?

Ember: ...Nightshade, dear, you said your family was smart

Nightshade: Ember!

Ember: Sorry, dear.

Nightshade: Can you tell us more of Quintus? Pleaseeeeeeee?

Ember: Sure, what else do you want to know?

Mo: I have a question! If Nightshade is Quintus incarnation, then, that means indirectly that Quintus died at some point, right?

Mo: In that case, how did he died? Because, what can kill a Prime?

Ember: ...that´s a conversation I will have with my dear Nightshade first when they´re ready

Robby: and when that will be?

Ember: Not today

Hashtag: Oh, come on!

Twitch: but, why?

Ember: as a Prime Relic I don´t only care for my function but for my Prime´s integrity and protection, keeping some information until the right moment is part of this function

Jawbreaker: it was that bad?

the more i think about her, the more my heart aches for Twitch Q.Q

Especially after the latest round of Earthspark episodes. I love how they explore her capabilities as an aspiring leader, and her sense of duty and love as an elder sibling. And by the Allspark I am PROUD of her every time she steps up, and just how driven she is by the love she has for her family and her need to protect them!

but at the same time, I can't help but feel a lot of sadness and compassion...she isn't that much older than the other Terrans, and even if she is more experienced she's still so young...she was literally just born months ago, and she's already carrying such heavy burdens. It's devastating to see her cry when she feels like she failed at protecting her family. She's still just a kid, and she already has the weight of her family's lives and safety on her shoulders. She reminds me so much of so many kids I knew, usually the eldest in the family who had to support their younger siblings on their own. I just wanna give her a big hug and tell her that these shouldn't be her burdens to bear Q.Q

I see a lot of people complaining about the new Transformers Earthspark trailer because of Starscream "loosing his character arc". Let's be honest, his only character arc was being less of an a-hole to cyber-children and working with them to punch Megatron. Give it time, he'll get there.
