Day 1: Earth / Cybertron

Under the pits of Kaon, two gladiators share a moment before the bloodshed. The roar and cheering of the expecting audience, the presentator's voice booming as he announced the next fighters and the stomping echoing through the halls, making the metal tremble; all noise fades into the void as the two lovers embrace each other close, basking in their shared presence.

The silver and red mech grabs his silent conjunx’s hand and pulls him closer before the gladiator’s lips press against the black, cold visor. He uses his red cape to hide him and his lover from the light sneaking in their hidden spot. He doesn’t want the thousands of optics outside to watch them; this is only for Megatronus and Soundwave, this is their place and time for them alone before the engagement in brutal gladiatorial combat with their respective opponents outside.

The way Optimus' eyes are rendered and textured in TFP, always reminded me of tear tracks? The etchings underneath.

Like this gentle man, who so badly wanted peace above all else, had cried so many tears till he had none, that they were now marked forever on his face.

Edit: Megatron also has these tears too

Just a canon of mine in my version of SG:

Archivists and gladiators are treated in almost the same way,because both are overexploited at work, while archivists are manipulated to change or erase things from history for the benefit of the higher-ups, while the gladiators bring them "entertainment and fun". There are many differences in how their treatment is, but it is terrifying on both counts.

But one of the similarities is that both are forced to drink red energon to increase their work capacity, for this reason, Orion has that color in his optics, Megatronus too, but he turns them blue back thanks to a technology he has.

Orion Pax wants to repeat the suffering of the high command to do justice, Megatron does not want to, because he does not want to be a replacement for the old ones.

Aligned continuity gave us the most insane friend group for Orion Pax and we don’t do nearly enough with it as we should

Orion, archivist, saw a revolution and IMMEDIATELY got on board

Megatronus, angry, hates the system, a little power hungry

Ratchet, depending on interpretation he’s either grumpy as fuck or a party animal who has yet to experience the horrors™️

Soundwave, BFFs with Megatron, has experienced the horrors™️ but he’s still a silly guy

Shockwave, depending on wether or not empurata is real in aligned he’s either a senator who teaches outliers against the councils wishes, or an empathy lacking dude who likes making crimes against nature

High Tide, grumpy and angry drill sergeant, probably swears like a motherfucker, he has a handy dog named SERVO, calls young people “hatchlings”

Starting yet another post of angst today because this was on the backburner a while but

As I'm sure everyone's read my previous post of OP's Perma-Tear tracks on his face.

Well, I wanted to talk about Megatron today.

In the lore of TFP/Aligned, we see just how much anger and rage he has built up, and with how his frame is cracked, you would see immediately, as if it was battle damage right?

Well, I would like to state it to also be tear tracks.

Tears of rage, betrayal, anger and grief, to contrast the tears of sorrow, of sadness and melancholy that mark OP's face.

Because when you are wholly unrighteously angry, you do start to cry, I know I have in the past when pissed off to my breaking point.

And we even see, when he was just Megatronus, friend of Orion, he did not have those scars, those tears of rage.

This warrior of Kaon, gladiator , warlord too walks with the scarred remnants of rageful tears on his face, as if they were scars of battle, that he makes no effort to hide.

The tears of a victim from an unjust system, of someone pushed too far to the point of madness blinded by a near uncurbed wrath.

And you see them marked a bit further, when noting his transformation by Unicron too, how more lines on his face look like dried tears.

Tears of sacrifice, that gave everything, and lost it all. Gained nothing but pain in the end, too blinded by anger and pride to find the solution before him all along.
