The anti-Daemyra really have a huge problem understanding... whether in the definition of the words used and the importance of the implication of a historical context in relation to certain subjects.

And obviously, this person blocked me. It kills me. I don't care that she came with her "I think" as if it was an open conversation ! My post is tagged Pro Daemyra. I don't have to receive these types of messages and then be accused of being a toxic person for not agreeing and not being happy to receive them. Especially after all the ones I've already received. It's amazing how much anti Daemyra and pro TG like to play the victim when it's them who come directly to piss off.

I always wonder about the "ESPECIALLY in the book" argument… because how was Daemon supposed to do that when he wasn't even there for most of Rhaenyra's childhood? Isn't grooming about… well, you have to be next to the person and manipulate them somehow?

Rhaenyra was born in 97 AC. That same year, Daemon married Rhea and had to move to the Vale. We know he returned to KL sometime in 103 AC. In 105 AC, Daemon was on Dragonstone, and in 106 AC he was on the Stepstones. He returned to KL only in 111 AC, but for a very short time. The Stepstones War ended in 115 AC and Daemon flew to Driftmark, where he became engaged to Laena. So… when did Daemon have time to groom Rhaenyra? Especially since he did it ESPECIALLY in the book? Between 103-105 AC, when Rhaenyra was 6-8 years old and the only thing we know about this period is that Daemon brought Rhaenyra gifts? My uncle also brought them to me when he went to Germany, I didn't know it counted as grooming…

These people not only don't know what "grooming" and "pedophilia" are, which they are shouting about, but they don't even know what they are talking about when it comes to the book, because apparently they haven't even read the summary on Wikipedia…

When I started shipping them:

Back when I first read the manga, when I reached chapters 111 to 113. Man, I was hooked. Their young selves did something irreversible to me lmao, and then Uta hit me with the old tattoo meaning and I was Gone.

It was in 2014, iirc. I started TG when it was over but before :re was published (by the time i was finished, :re was 7 chapters in, very precisely xD i remember bc it's the chapter Nishiki calls Haise Kaneki)

My thoughts:

I've talked about this extensively in the past but yeah their friendship is insanely important to me. The way they go on about "you're my friend" it makes me bonkers. They are the definition of what relationships should be, in my book. Friendship first and foremost and above all, for better or worse. They are The QPP™. Absolutely legendary. First ship to make me so gone. I often say Percabeth was my first OTP but nothing consumed me quite like Utaren did before they did. They're my OTQP? I guess? xD

What makes me happy about them:

Yeah, their friendship. How ride or die they are about each other. Able to rip each other to shreds but will also risk their lives to save the other. How accepting Renji is of Uta's clownship (before it threatens Touka lmao). The unconditional love. The brutality of it.

What makes me sad about them:

"Nec possum tecum uiuere nec sine te". doesn't make me sad per se but ouch anyway. The abandonment Uta felt when Renji left. The intricate knowledge Uta has that he can't be by his side but they can't be apart either - to the point of getting it tattooed. On his fucking neck.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Making it sexual. I don't read much TG fanfics these days (or at least not new ones. i reread my favs instead) so idk what's the trend regarding them but back then I never liked them smut. Feels unnatural.

Also once I read a fic in which one said "ily" to the other (they were in a relationship already) and the other got up and left and they broke up??? What's up with that. I genuinely don't get why saying ily to your boyfriend would make him leave?? isn't that why you're dating?? Anyway.

Things I look for in fanfic:

4th ward era. "graphic depiction of violence" is always welcome.

How I feel about this character:

I feel too many things in too much quantity. I feel love, I feel grief, I feel protectiveness, I feel something sink in my stomach and something lift me in the sky. He is my most beloved, my husband, the light of my days. He makes me smile, he makes me oh so happy and he's one of the reasons I cry at night. He is everything to me.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:

Langa, of course. Kiriko, also and also of course. Both in the EDEN and Adakiri/LoveMantis way and in the EDENMantis way uwu

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character:

With Tadashi, kink dom/sub relationship, with deep deep devotion on Tadashi's side and slowly recovering trust and friendship.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Depends on unpopular where. If it's in the entire western sk8 fandom, the unpopular opinion would be ADAM is absolutely amazing both character-wise and person-wise. He's the best and he deserves so much love.

If we're talking ADAM fandom, it would be that He Is Not A Slut. He is the very opposite of that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish Cherry would apologize to him. I wish he'd managed to kill Reki. I wish we would know more of his past, especially regarding Kiriko. That's three things. Who cares.

Favorite friendship for this character:

With Tadashi, as kids. With Joe and Cherry, as teens. With Langa (and with Kiriko in my dreams), as adults.

My crossover ship:

With Matsuri (TG). I don't exactly ship it and it wouldn't work anyway because they're both doms but it's fun thinking about them meeting and becoming friends.

So with all of the theories going around, whether Scarecrow could be Hide or not, I got inspired to write this little thingy.

Preview:   He could not wait to finally see his face up close again, to finally talk to him again. And boy, they needed to have a long talk as soon as possible. A talk that would clear up everything, solve all the misunderstandings and bring them back a part of all the time they lost. Four years were such a long time and he wondered what had changed. Would he even be able to recognize him anymore? His face certainly looked a little different than it did before.

It was the valentines day fair. And everybody was fighting.

There were tons of corpses littering the floor where just a few moments ago people had been standing and celebrating. Some of the attendants might have thought that the ghouls would not be this cruel. They surely would not plan an attack during a festival of love and peace, right? But they were wrong. They did not expect the sheer ferocity that was the clowns.

Now most of them laid on the ground, bathing in their own blood or the blood of other citizens. Yet the battle continued and got even more brutal when the CCG arrived.

Everyone was fearing for their lives, trying to get away and protect their loved ones at all costs. Because of that, nobody noticed the dark figure standing in an alleyway and carefully observing the events. Their silhouette looked like the one of an old man, clothed in a thick coat and a hat. But what one could not see was his face. It was covered by an old looking straw sack with a henohenomoheji-face painted onto it. The same face young school children would use for their kakashi, thus earning himself the name of 'Scarecrow'.

How he could remain unnoticed by clowns and humans alike was a mystery. Strangely, he seemed to always know when exactly he had to leave his hiding spot, so that the investigators entering the now deserted alleyway were only able to pick up a silent and quickly disappearing cough, if they listened closely.

Like that he managed to quietly observe the whole battle and take notes in his head concerning certain investigators that could become useful in the future. That was, however, until a particular group of ghouls entered the raging battle in the 22nd ward. Their white suits could be seen from far away, sticking out of the smoke and shining in the sunlight. Nobody knew who that group was and what they had in mind, except for the individual called 'Scarecrow' who would have recognized their leader in any time and place. Just one look at the mask covering his face, his hair and the way he moved had him retreating further into the small alley. How could it be that he and his group chose to appear right at the place he was currently investigating? He had certainly not planned a meeting this early, which meant that he had to be extra careful to not be noticed by the new ghouls. He could see it in the eyes hidden behind their masks that their senses were on a whole new level which would serve as quite the challenge for his hiding skills.

The 'Scarecrow' was just moving to head deeper into the alley he was currently standing in when his eyes ghosted over the group of ghouls once again and then met with the one of their leader. Of course he knew that he could not recognize him in any possible way due to his disguise but the look he saw in his eye triggered something in his mind and body, which had him stumbling backwards and quickly hiding at the end of the alleyway behind some boxes.

How long had it been since he had seen this eye or his other one this close? He wondered if it had always looked this lost. Of course you could also see the determination and strength lying behind this orb, but if you looked closely all that disappeared and what was left was the eye of a disorientated little boy, totally lost in the role he had to fulfil. Was he the only one who noticed this? Was this boy completely alone with all of his insecurities and hidden doubts?

Thinking of that urged him to just run out of this alley to the side of the ghoul and pull him into a warm hug. A hug, which they had shared once before, in a time and place long gone and forgotten. He had to try his hardest to resist that urge. It was affecting his throat more than all the running and hiding he had been doing on this day and he was starting to cough once again. Just like the other times the pain seemed to spread from that one specific point just above his left collarbone through his throat and neck to reach his left cheek. It usually faded after a few moments but this time his large scar continued to ache for more than five, long minutes.

'I can't go on like this', he thought to himself, still coughing and hiding behind the boxes, 'I need to get out of here before anyone notices me.'

He could certainly not risk being discovered and arrested when he had already gathered this much information and was just about to meet up with the person, he had been hiding from for all those years by now. Until now there was just one person who knew what he had been doing for all this time. Hopefully, she had kept quiet, like he told her to. Soon the wait would be over after all.

After taking a few moments to gather his remaining breath, the figure got up, cast one last glance towards the familiar ghoul fighting on the bloody street and then made his way through narrow, dark alleys until he reached a seemingly abandoned apartment building.

Of course he had another small apartment in the 15th ward, where he spent most of the time he was not undergoing some examinations in the hospital. But for his private investigations he needed another hideout to store his disguise and weapons, so that nobody in his neighbourhood would be suspicious of him. Luckily, he managed to discover this empty building during one of his long walks through the different parts of Tokyo. It was perfect. Due to the barricaded windows and doors, nobody could see what was going on inside and he could go after his work undisturbed.

Standing on his tiptoes, he pulled down the fire ladder which he then used to climb up to a window on the second floor. He barely made it inside the dusty and dark room, until he broke down, coughing and fiddling with the rope around his neck that held his mask in place.

The moment he managed to loosen it, he pulled away the straw sack and took a deep, long breath. It really felt good to finally breath some fresh air again, even if it was filled with dust and every little breath hurt his throat. Absently he raised his hand to touch the centre of the pain, right below his Adam's apple but quickly flinched away when he made contact with the leather-like texture of his scar. He could not live through one day of his life without being reminded of that certain day and the decision he had made. Did he feel any regret? Not really, if he thought about it. He managed to save his best friend without dying in the process, which was a great success from his point of view.

With the pain being mostly gone now, he moved to lay on his back and stare at the ceiling. 'This poor guy probably still doesn't know a thing about what was going on', he thought to himself while shaking his head. And it was not easy for him either. Hearing and seeing his best friend fight (and almost die) at the auction had caused him so much grief. He had wanted to reveal himself to him so badly, but also known that he would not have remembered him. It was not his fault, he knew that. To remember everything he needed to fight even more battles, mostly within himself. And now, that he finally knew who he was, the timing was not right again.

He had already spoken with that other person and she supported his belief that this reveal would just distract him from the important task at hand and their new organization, Goat.

A silent, suffocated giggle escaped his lips.

'Seriously, who else would've come up with such a name, if not you?'

He could not wait to finally see his face up close again, to finally talk to him again. And boy, they needed to have a long talk as soon as possible. A talk that would clear up everything, solve all the misunderstandings and bring them back a part of all the time they lost. Four years were such a long time and he wondered what had changed. Having thought of that, he got up and walked over to a dusty mirror hanging from one of the broken, old walls. It was like a miracle that it only had one large crack, going straight through the middle and dividing the face of the person looking into it in two halves.

The right half of his face was mostly unscathed except for a scar over his eyebrow and, of course, the large one beginning at the crook of his neck.

He brushed his now dark brown, shoulder long hair out of the way to reveal his whole throat. The leather-like scar was starting at his left collar bone, went on to covering nearly all of his throat from just below his Adam's apple onwards and then moved to his left cheek where it stopped just below his cheek bone. It was not nice to look at, but it did not disfigure him either. It was just there, a constant reminder of that night and of his undying devotion and love towards his most precious person.

If not having this scar meant abandoning him in that important moment, he would choose to wear it for his whole lifetime. After all, the doctors did everything they could and now he was able to almost live a normal life, except for having to visit the hospital every week and not being able to speak properly anymore. In his view it was a relatively small prize he had to pay for being able to save that special person. And now it would not be long until they could finally meet again. If everything went right, he would be waiting for him at the coffee shop in just a few days time.

A soft smile formed on his lips and he looked directly into the mirror.

'I can't wait to see the look on you face when I finally come home, Ken.'

83. Ishida bad mouthed the assistant guy from the last stream, not realising that person was in the stream as well. He then asked whether the guy was able to wake up.

84. Someone mentioned Bleach’s author, Kubo sensei, as the one who could draw super fast. He said that being able to draw fast didn’t only include the pace you’re drawing the picture. The panels were also included. Even if you draw fast, if there’s 120 panels, it’d still gonna take time. On the other hand, if there’s only 70 panels, it’d take less time. Then there’s the art style as well. Those who use great amount of Kakeami would take a longer time. He then praised Kubo sensei’s drawing.

85. Takahashi Rumiko sensei, the author of Inuyasha was also mentioned as mangaka who drew fast. Ishida mentioned that she’s full of energy. He said young Takahashi Rumiko sensei was cute. She’s still cute now.

86. SY asked what kind of vehicle he wanted to ride. He said he’s scared of trucks. He also didn’t like riding buses. In conclusion, he didn’t wanna ride anything.

87. Ishida said it’s kinda hard to be motivated with digital drawing. He did want to draw on papers, but drawing digitally is infinitely better when he wants to fix or adjust things in his works. He often uses shortcuts as well.

88. He never really felt any sense of accomplishment, so he didn’t understand people who did. He did feel relief (?) when he completed something, but he didn’t understand the feeling of wanting to experience that sense of accomplishment again. He envied those who felt that way since he never felt it.

89. SY read TG manga for the first time the previous day. Ishida was surprised by it and asked him if he thought Ishida was just a streamer. People in the chat were also shocked by it, lol. There were people who only knew about JJ too. Ishida wondered how did SY come across his streams. Sy replied that he just thought Ishida was just someone who drew beautiful illustrations the first time he watched his stream. Ishida was grateful that he’s reading it. It didn’t really matter if he read it or not. When musicians told him that they read TG, he felt like they’re just trying to be considerate, but they probably did read it. It’s okay if they didn’t read it. He always thought that every time he met new people. He wasn’t being humble, it’s just that he preferred if people could just talk to him as usual.

90. Someone said that there were people who got shocked reading TG after they played JJ.  He said it’s because JJ was a combination between his sister & him. He also already through with TG, so the vibe was different. However, he once said in an interview that it was hard for him to get rid off TG vibes inside of him when doing JJ in the early stages. He was teased about that by everyone.  

91. He went to the bathroom for the 3rd time and someone guessed the correct flower.

97. A fan commented that Ms. Towada seemed knowledgeable about geography or local stuffs. Ishida told them it’s because she really liked to travel. She probably had gone to most prefectures in Japan. That’s why she’s very knowledgeable in local history.

104. A fan asked his opinion on anti-natalism. He wasn’t familiar with the term and searched for it. He wondered if the term was brought by Schopenhauer. He said Schopenhauer was just jealous of Hegel since Hegel was really famous. His books were full of criticism on Hegel.

Parallels of loss in One Eyed Ghouls

Eto is forced to eat Shiono, Kaneki is forced to eat Hide. Both Shiono and Hide were the only things that could be said to keep Eto or Kaneki remotely sane for a time.

Shiono’s fate is even foreshadowed well in advance in Ishida’s Icon Talks. I don’t think it needs to be stated how important Hide is (not that Hide isn’t worth talking about), but it cannot be understated: Shiono is one of the most important figures in Eto’s life. He’s analogous to Hide for Kaneki, as Yoriko for Touka, as Ukina for Kuzen, as Shachi for Rize.

TG;re 111, 115

Both Amon and Takizawa find themselves captive and forced to face the death of their family at the hands of their captors, Donato for Amon and Kanou for Takizawa. With Amon it’s not 100% confirmed, but it is very strongly implied Donato fed him his fellow orphans, just as Takizawa had his parents fed to him by Kanou.

TG;re 115

Takizawa seems to believe that Amon doesn’t understand - but I think Ishida makes it clear that Amon understands Takizawa better than he thinks. I think there’s a reason that in this battle has Kaneki noting Amon has been stripped of his ability to speak and Takizawa says that he won’t let Amon through, even if there’s practical reasons for that. More on that in another post.

TG;re 81

And Kurona absorbs Nashiro thinking Kanou will save her. He doesn’t, because he doesn’t actually care. I talked about how Eto’s words to Kurona on Kanou’s lab were a warning and foreshadowed how her fight with Suzuya would go chapters later, and how Kurona’s relationship with Kanou is analogous to Eto’s relationship with Arima.  Kurona’s situation is actually analogous to Suzuya’s own at the end of Tokyo Ghoul.

TG 143, 107

Both Suzuya and Kurona end up with loved ones in irrecoverable conditions as of the end of Tokyo Ghoul. Suzuya isn’t a One Eyed Ghoul, no, but his situation parallels Kurona’s own. However, Suzuya not being a ghoul but being a human helps to underscore the difference between these two characters and their treatment. Suzuya being a human and not alone, and Kurona being a ghoul and alone results in completely different outcomes. I want to cover this more in another post, too.
