oh, i just realized i love steve so much because he gets beat up so much. let me elaborate.

he’s someone that chooses to be good.

and life fucks him over. he loses his status. he loses his girlfriend. he loses his money, presumably cut off by his parents. he gets harassed by his former best friend. he lives in a house where the pool is very possibly a grave. he’s saddled with headstrong kids with non-existent self-preservation instincts. he does not find new love, he does not heal from his first heartbreak. his parents, or his dad at very least, consider him to be a disappointment. they’re not there for him. he’s haunted by his past, his highschool nickname and the subsequent assumptions people make about him. he gets beat up, he gets tortured, his life is in danger way too many times. all the trauma.

he continues to be good anyway. he doesn’t stop to think about what his heroics gain. he crawls forward.

he’s content with what he’s got. robin. the kids. people to fight back-to-back with. it’s what matters to him. and he’s right.

(oh, this is also what makes eddie’s praise very cathartic to me. people shouldn’t expect a reward for being good. but it’s still very nice to be told that you’re doing good.)

When Corroded Coffin makes it kinda big in the alternative scene Eddie enlists the help of Will to design merch, update the band logo, etc and Jonathan shoots all of the album covers. I think he’s the type to want his friends to come along for the ride/aid in their own come up. I like to imagine articles written about the powerhouse team of young artists coming out of a small Indiana town rife with tragedy and together they tell (a vague gov approved) version of what happened.

I kind of think argyle would have been their initial manager? He seems all fun and slow smiles but that man had connections into industries you could never imagine! He’s also stupid smart at negotiating and ends up getting corroded coffin their first tour and studio recorded album. He takes them as far as he can before he passes them on to a big time profession that he personally knows so can feet assured they won’t be messed around.

No matter where the gig is there will ALWAYS be a handful of tickets kept aside incase any of the gang want to go. It’s a tradition for the band to sign them of they don’t get used and kept as a memory of various stops.

If any of his friends are struggling for a job eddie will find a place for them no questions asked. The band actually get partially adopted into the upside down gang and are happy to help too

i listened to a whole lot of angsty songs to emulate the emotions i wanted to convey so hopefully that was also shown in my work 🥹

He loves running, being a scamp, and djungelskog. He's a border collie Australian shepherd mix! 2 years old, I got him when he was 3 months

I got him when I had a farm, and he was supposed to herd the sheep. But we ran into an unsuspecting difficulty -

Kiba is TERRIFIED of sheep

A sheepdog scared of sheep.

No matter how positive the training sessions or gradual it happened, he just was scared stiff of them and would hide between my legs the whole time. I started training him on the ducks, and he liked that! LOOOOVED herding the ducks, and he got to a point that he could bring all 20 of them into their hutch at night in like, 30 seconds.

But the sheep? Nah, too scary.

It also doesn't help that our sheep were in fact a very bold/fighty breed, and instead of running/flocking away from kiba, they would square up 😭😭 straight up try and ram him down. They were a vicious bunch, I mean, vicious by sheep standards.

We never let him run around with Harry, our llama, because Harry's job was literally to stomp coyotes to death, so we figured itd be too risky. But luckily harry never seemed to mind kiba around, and when kiba trained with the sheep, harry wasn't ever worried about it. (Normally when Harry's upset he'd make a lot of noise, whine, pace)

So yeah, after a bit of trying, I just accepted that hey! Kiba is who he is, and that's okay. He can herd the ducks and we can just move the sheep ourselves.

I also trained him in agility, so he can do hurdles, tunnels, a boat-load o' tricks, and SOMETIMES could do that weave between poles thing (he always would get too excited for the post-trick treat that he'd just catapult over the whole thing over and over lmao)

The one thing he can't do is roll over. No idea why, just discombobulates him too much I think, he clearly didn't like practicing it as much as the other tricks. Very unenthusiastic and tried to sneak away from the training session early, so I figured no use in making him uncomfortable for just a trick.

I've wanted a dog for 20 years but my mom hates dogs so it was ALWAYS no. Then I move out and get myself a dog as a graduation gift to myself. And this sweet boy was the best gift ever❤️

A lot of people (often over pretentious people) scream and wail that you should NEVER get a border collie as a first dog, but honestly I disagree. Kibas been the best first dog ever. And as long as your aware of their energy needs and training needs then I truly think anyone can raise one.
