Y/n wasn’t oblivious to the fact that her boyfriend was hot, that he had hundreds of girls who wanted him. But she also wasn’t oblivious that her boyfriend loved her and would do anything to make her happy. Most of the time, her insecurities would pick her apart bit by bit but they would always go away as soon as she saw Jack or he made a comment that left her with the feeling of butterflies in her stomach.
With the two of them doing long distance as she finished up her last semester of college, she was always nervous that Jack was having more fun without her. It wasn’t a constant thought, just on the days when she had nothing to do but overthink everything. Yet, Jack always helped ease those worries with his daily phone calls before practice and/or after a game.
Every night since they started dating, a little over a year ago, Jack would make it his job to call her either before he left for practice or after he finished playing a game. Most of the time she was too tired to talk, so Jack would talk her ear off as she fell asleep wearing one of his hoodies and he watched with a huge grin plastered on his face.
However, after shutting the game off and making a late-night snack, she was worried when her phone never rang or lit up. She initially shrugged it off and thought that media had just run a little longer than normal or he got caught up in traffic or he was talking to someone. Yet, the time from when the game ended and the present got increasingly longer, thirty minutes turned into an hour, and an hour turned into two.
Normally, she wouldn’t try and overthink things like this, she knew Jack was busy and she didn’t want to be unreasonable and clingy. But for some reason, something just seemed off. Like she knew something was about to happen. Despite her gut feeling, she settled onto her bed in her apartment and ate her popcorn as her favorite movie played on her TV.
It wasn’t until she was about to fall asleep that she looked at her phone again and saw an insane amount of notifications and none of them had been from Jack. So, hesitantly, she opened Twitter to see why she was being tagged in a lot of posts. She swore she could physically feel her heart split in two when she saw it. Jack was out at a bar talking to one of his teammates, she wasn’t sure who and she didn’t care to figure out who it was.
However, that wasn’t what made her feel like her whole world was crashing down, she could handle that Jack went out to a bar and didn’t tell her, went out to celebrate a win that he contributed to. It was the fact that there was a girl next to him, an arm wrapped around his torso and her head on his shoulder. She was too focused on her being on him that she didn’t register the look of disgust on Jack’s face, the subtle body language that screamed he wanted to be anywhere but there.
She placed her phone down, screen flush with her sheets, as she let tears form in her eyes. She had trusted him, she had trusted him after multiple of her friends warned her about his reputation, she had trusted him after her mom warned her about him, she had trusted him despite what everyone said. And she fell for it, she fell for him and his tricks.
Letting her curiosity get the best of her, she picked her phone back up and scrolled through the replies to multiple tweets that contained the same picture. One after another they all said how they wished the two of them would get back together, how they wished Jack would finally dump her and realize his ex was better for him, how they thought that she was just some rebound to help Jack get over her. And that was her final straw, maybe Jack really was just using her.
As she continued her rabbit hole of comments, her phone suddenly rang and Jack’s contact showed up. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to cry harder, scream, bury her head into her pillow, or throw her phone across the room as she stared at the picture. It was a picture from winter break, she had flown out to Jersey to see him. The two of them were skating in Rockefeller Center in front of the tree, she was bundled up in her winter coat, a beanie, and a scarf around her neck. Jack had his hands on her hips as their foreheads leaned against one another, bright smiles on their faces as the snow fell around them. She had been laughing at something that he said when whoever snapped the picture. It was one of her favorite memories and now it was just something that reminded her of what she fell for.
Before the call had ended she clicked the answer button and held it up to her ear, trying to keep in her emotions as best as she could. It didn’t last long though. Jack’s voice reached her ears and his all too familiar giddy and happy tone was present, “Hi baby!”
She took a deep breath, “Do not, ‘Hi baby’ me, Jack.”
On the other side, where Jack sat in his car, his grin fell into a frown and he furrowed his eyebrows, “What do you mean, don’t ‘Hi baby’ you? What’s wrong?”
“We’re done, Jack.”
Now it was Jack’s turn to feel his heart physically break, he couldn’t believe what she was saying. There was no way that they were over, not after he fought to do long distance with her, not after he sat through nights wishing that she was with him, not after he cried when he got hurt because she wasn’t by his side, not after the fights that left them both in tears. It couldn’t be the end, could it?
“Wait wait wait, no we can’t be done, sweetheart. Just talk to me, let me fix whatever is going on.”
“You can’t fix this, Jack. You broke my heart, that isn’t just something you can fix.”
“I what? How-”
“I waited all night for you to call and I was ready to brush it off as just a long night and then I go on Twitter to see your ex all cozied up to you like nothing had happened? Like we never happened?”
Jack couldn’t tell if he was more upset at the obvious tears that laced her voice or if he was more upset that she had seen those photos. In all honesty, he didn’t know anyone was taking a picture, though being a famous athlete he should’ve known. It was nothing, he had been talking to Jesper and Nico about something completely random, he couldn’t remember at this point.
That was when she came up to him, batting her eyelashes and using that familiar innocent tone that used to have Jack caving at the mere sound of it. He glanced over at her and muttered a quick ‘hey’ before turning back to his teammates and continuing their conversation. However, it was clear that she was not going to back down so easily. She tried to talk to him, saying how much she missed him and that she hoped they could talk out their problems, but Jack just ignored her. He was happy with y/n, more happy than he had ever been in his life.
That was when he felt her arm around his waist and her head on his shoulder. He tensed up immediately, his annoyed face morphing into one of disgust and discomfort. He pushed her away as best as he could but her grip was tight. Nico had finally had enough and walked over to the girl, pulling her off of his teammate and waving her away.
“Babe, it wasn’t like that, I swear. I was trying to get her away, I was ignoring her, ask Nico or Jesper-”
“Don’t get your teammates to lie for you, Jack. I don’t want to hear it. You broke my heart, I thought you loved me. I thought that we would’ve been different, I thought I was different. I thought you were different.”
“Y/n you have to listen to me, I didn’t want her there. I was doing everything I could to get her away from me.” The way his voice cracked made her pause, was he crying? “Baby, you have to believe me.”
“You ignored me all night long, she was hanging off of you, what am I supposed to think?”
“We both know that’s not fair, I would never cheat on you, you know that, y/n/n.”
“I can’t Jack, I’m sorry.” She hung up the phone, leaving both of them in a mess of tears.
She sat back up on her bed, pushing herself against the headboard. She brought her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and resting her head there. She cried until she heard a knock on the door and she looked up to see one of her roommates standing there, “Y/n?”
“He cheated on me.” She choked out, not even believing her own words.
“Oh, honey.” Her friend was quick to wrap her in a hug letting her cry until she fell asleep in her arms.
Meanwhile, Jack sat in his car, his head against the headrest. He couldn’t cry, not now. He had to drive home, he had to shower, he had to make dinner for Luke. He drove home in silence, not even having the energy to turn the radio on. His eyes were glassy the whole way there, only blinking when he wasn’t sure if there was a car in front of him or not.
When he arrived home, he lugged himself up the steps to his and Luke’s apartment, stopping a few times and thinking back to what happened. He placed his key into the door and turned it, opening it so he could walk in. He threw his hat on the counter and closed the door with his foot. He held his keys in his right hand and placed it on the counter, squeezing so hard that his keys dug into the skin of his hand.
“Jack?”
He looked up at his brother with tear-covered eyes, “Hey.”
“I thought you were home already- What’s wrong?”
Jack blinked at him before responding, “She broke up with me.”
“Y/n?” He only nodded as tears started to stream down his cheeks.
Luke stepped closer and went to ask what happened but was stopped when Jack’s head hit his chest and felt his arms wrap around him. He wrapped his arms around his older brother, allowing Jack to pull him to the ground as he let out heart wrenching sobs into his chest. Luke rested his back against the wall and just held Jack until, as y/n had earlier, fell asleep in his arms.
゚+*:୨୧:*﹤
It was a few days later that she had finally opened up her phone for the first time since that night. She had seen multiple texts and social media notifications from her friends, her family, Luke, Quinn, and Jack. None of them had caught her attention, the one that did was a Twitter notification, one from the Devils and one from Amanda, both of them explaining that Jack was taking a personal leave from the team, his return unknown.
It took everything in her not to reach out to him, not to send him a text, not to call him. It wasn’t her right anymore, she broke up with him. After seeing that, she didn’t have any energy to continue looking through her notifications, scared and embarrassed about what they might say. So she just stared at her ceiling, pulling the sleeves of her hoodie over her hands and toying with one of the loose threads. That was when she realized it wasn’t her hoodie, it was Jack’s.
She cursed to herself and immediately took it off. She needed to get rid of him, she couldn’t stand the thought of having anything of the man who cheated on her in her room. For the next ten minutes, she dug through her closet, looked under her bed, and through her nightstand for anything that screamed Jack. His hoodies she had stolen, some shirts that he had given to her or left there, a bracelet and necklace that he had gotten her for their sixth month and one-year anniversary. Everything that had even the closest tie or relation to him went in the box.
And then she laid in her bed again, staring at the ceiling with an empty mind. She heard the door open, the one to her and her roommates' apartment. She thought nothing of it, it was probably around time for one of them to be coming back from one of their classes. But then she heard a knock on her door and turned to see the doorknob turn.
Black jeans and white Air Force Ones were all she saw before she knew who it was. She sat up and made her eyes stare directly at him, “Jack.”
“Ba- y/n.” Jack cleared his throat at the slip-up.
She leaned down to grab the box that she had just made and handed it to him, “I put everything in a box for you.”
It was hard to miss the hurt that flashed across his face, one she hated seeing. It made her sad seeing it but at the same time, she wasn’t so sure she was allowed to be upset about it. Jack gave her pleading eyes, “Please, please don’t do this.”
Y/n only shook her head, “Keep them. The hoodies, the shirts, everything.”
She shook her head again, biting her lip to keep her sob in, “I can’t Jack, it’ll hurt too much.”
Jack placed the box on the floor and took a step closer to her, placing his hands on her shoulders, “Talk to me.”
She stepped back, shying away from his touch. She knew that she would give in too quickly, she always did. He sighed and looked down, eyes trained on the rug in her room before looking back up, “I’m not leaving.”
“Jack, please.”
“No, I fought for us to do long distance, I fought for us when I was injured, I fought for us when both of us thought we couldn’t do this anymore, and I’m not going to stop fighting for us, y/n. You mean too much to me for me to just give up. I love you with everything in me and I am not going to let you walk away because of a picture that was taken and was meant to be perceived how you perceived it. What you saw-”
She shook her head once more, “Please-”
“Listen to me,” he cupped her cheeks, directing her gaze to meet his, “What you saw was nothing. I was at the bar, celebrating the win and I was talking to Nico and Jesper about cars when she came up. I barely acknowledged her but she kept going, she wrapped her arms around me and-” Y/n teared up as she listened to him explain, and she wasn’t sure if it was because she was having to hear about what happened or if it was because she was being stupid about this whole thing.
“-I tried to get her to let go of me, I did. I tried to get out of her grasp but she wouldn’t let go. Nico pulled her off of me and that was the end of it. Baby, I promise you, that was all it was. I love you too much to do that to you.”
Both of them now had tears in their eyes, her hands came up and wrapped around his wrists as she looked up at him, “Jack.”
“Please, you have to believe me. I am such a mess without you, I can’t-”
“Jack.”
He stopped rambling and looked at her, “What?”
“I believe you.”
Jack could feel all the tension and worry float away, “You do?”
She nodded, “I do. And I’m sorry I didn’t let you explain earlier, I just- being away from you, not seeing you every day, it was too hard.”
He shook his head, “You have nothing to be sorry for. I should’ve tried harder to get rid of her, and told her to go away.”
She shook her head in return, “You did everything you could, Jacky.”
The nickname immediately made him smile and pull her into a hug. The two both let tears fall from their eyes but both of them didn’t say anything. Being back in his arms felt good, having her back in his arms felt good.
After a while, he pulled away, resting his forehead on hers, “I love you, so so much. I meant everything I said earlier.”
“I love you too.” He kissed her softly, his hands coming to tangle in her hair.
When he pulled away, he knelt down to the box and took out one of his hoodies, the one that he knew was her favorite. She watched him carefully and let out a small giggle when she felt him pull it over her head. She allowed him to put it on her, a smile on her lips as he did so. He smiled himself once he saw hers, “My pretty girl.”
She blushed and groaned, “Jack.”
“What?”
He then dug through the box to find the bracelet and necklace, placing them on her wrist and around her neck. He smiled at her again and kissed her forehead, “Right where everything belongs. Right where I belong.”
“God, I love you so much.”
“I love you too, baby. More than you could ever know.”

what is your opinion on people calling dean a heavy misogynist? i don’t agree personally but i feel like you could put my thoughts into better words
First, I have to chuckle a little at "heavy misogynist". Apparently, some people have begun to realize their fave is also guilty of misogyny crimes therefore they focus on making sure all of us know Sam is a light misogynist and Dean is a heavy misogynist. I just find that amusing.
This is a broad topic in a long show, so I won't endeavor to address every conceivable incidence of misogyny in the show I can think of. Instead, I'm going to create a few headings, at least one of which I think most criticism falls under.
Misogyny through the writing team
How Sam's misogyny gets a pass
Purity culture wank and Dean performing for Sam
How Dean actually treats women
Misogyny Through The Writing Team
First, Supernatural in of itself has issues with misogyny—as in, the writers of the show (including female writers) have issues with misogyny which they are happy to put on display semi-frequently. The show started in 2005, during a period of time where casual sexism was absolutely rampant on TV and no one thought anything about it. Female celebrities were regularly mocked and dragged on cable television in a way men simply weren't. They were called bitches and skanks and whores, and even "progressive" voices were inundated with casual misogyny and a fixation on purity culture (that largely applied to women only). Quite simply, I think fandom tends to be far too generous toward the writers, assuming certain things were "flaws" the writers intentionally wrote for the characters.
Put another way, there are some criticisms I prefer to level at the writing team rather than the characters, because what is written plainly reflects their ignorance in the real world rather than any intent to give Sam or Dean or any other character meaningful flaws—much less outright terrible ones that greatly harm their image. I'll give a few examples:
2.17 "Heart" makes me very uncomfortable as I sit here in 2024 and observe how Sam and Madison's romance develops. Me feeling that way does not mean the authorial intent of 2007 Sera Gamble was that I think to myself, "Man Sam comes off as uncomfortably rapey here." Hopelessly bad with women, perhaps—but not creepy.
In season 2, the writers begin to develop a running “joke” that Sam is afraid of not just clowns but also little people. The latter “joke” is (wisely) dropped fairly quickly. I have never criticized Sam for being afraid of little people, and I never will. It is readily apparent to me that this running "joke" reflects the ignorance of the writing team rather than an intent to give Sam meaningful or interesting flaws. Their intent was to use little people as the butt of a joke. I personally find this "joke" distasteful, and the idea of trying to take that and somehow "dunk" on Sam for the bigotry of the writers is more distasteful to me.
This is also how I feel about the running "joke" of a porn magazine and website (BAB) that solely features Asian women, that is put on display on multiple occasions during the show—first in 2.15 "Tall Tales", where the context is Gabriel infecting Sam's laptop with a virus from the website and making him believe Dean is responsible. BAB continues to make "Easter Egg" appearances in the show afterward. While often associated with Dean by fandom, the writers clearly think of BAB as a general, "funny" (it isn't), running gag with no more depth than "haha men like porn funny". An issue is stolen by a sentient teddy bear in 4.08 "Wishful Thinking". An issue is owned by the teenager who swapped bodies with Sam in 5.12 "Swap Meat". The Men of Letters also collected a considerable number of issues (8.17). I simply do not believe the writers thought for a single moment about BAB being a grossly racist gag. They most certainly did not write it as an intentional criticism of Dean from that perspective. It reflects nothing but their ignorance and racism here in the real world, and absolutely SHOULD be criticized from that REAL WORLD impact.
How Sam's misogyny largely gets a pass
One of the things I have not been able to stop noticing on this rewatch is Sam's issues with misogyny, and how often Sam's misogyny comes out in conflicts with Dean... starting from the very first episode of the show. Pretty much any time you get anything that feels like it might be a misogynist Dean or horn dog Dean moment... Sam either just has or is about to follow that up with some misogyny of his own.
In 1.01, right after entering Sam's apartment and meeting Jess, Dean mentions the Smurfs on Jess's shirt. We think to ourselves "Okay. A little misogynist... a little horn-dog Dean." Sam is happy to 1-Up that in two ways. First, Jess voices her intentions to go get dressed. Dean dismisses this, but while doing so, makes it clear he intends to leave the room with Sam, as he'd like to have a private conversation with Sam anyway. Sam objects, walking over to Jess and putting an arm around her, demanding Dean say whatever he needs to say right then and there. Maybe this would feel supportive if Jess wasn't in her underwear and hadn't just made it clear that now that the panic over a possible break-in is over, she'd really like to not be in her underwear in front of a stranger. But nope. By god she needs to stand there so Sam can prove a point about misogynist Dean! Second, Sam immediately (and I think quite erroneously) jumps to imply Dean is trying to cut Jess out of the conversation because she's... a woman? Or... something? He makes a big show of moving over Jess and standing beside her, saying anything Dean has to say, he can say in front of Jess. However, the moment Sam actually understands that Dean is here because John is missing on a hunting trip, he dismisses Jess to speak to Dean alone... because he's lying to her. By painting Dean erroneously with this "The men are talking" bullshit that had nothing to do with anything, Sam sets himself up to be viewed as a misogynist by his own framing of the situation and what it means to leave Jess out of a discussion. He also reveals his own alleged principles as a performative illusion. Despite being his intended life partner, Sam never intends to tell the woman he loves about his past as a hunter (he makes this clear later on the bridge). However, I think because Sam's actions usually co-occur with what gets called out more directly or more immediately recognized as misogyny from Dean (should have gotten him for the Smurf's comment, Sam!) Sam's misogyny often flies under the radar... and he's really... pretty bad.
I spoke here at length about how Sam tends to look down on women who interact with Dean (often before meeting them). There is absolutely an intersection with purity culture here and there's discussion in that thread about that as well, and whether this is a "2000s writers" issue or intentionally written flaws.
In 1.06, Sam cuts Dean off before Dean can accept an offered beer from Rebecca, but then as soon as Sam needs Rebecca out of the room, Sam asks her to not just bring them those beers... but also fix them sandwiches. Rebecca says, "What do you think this is, Hooters?" and Dean mumbles, "I wish" and we somehow lose sight of the fact that Sam literally just asked a woman to make him sandwiches which is possibly the number one misogynist man trope. Sam vaguely suggests Dean is a misogynist in 1.19 for nudging Sam to go on a date with Sarah Blake and possibly get information on the case, because that would be "using" her, but Sam wants to "use" Meg Masters in 1.22 and he wants to "use" Ruby to get what he wants, and when he said getting information from women was "Dean's job", he was also showing he was perfectly willing to use Dean and Sarah—he just doesn't want to get his hands dirty. It also comes to light in 1.19 that this is more about Sam's belief that he has to protect women from him, and Sarah herself ends up calling Sam antiquated for it.
I mentioned before that Sam doesn't plan to ever tell Jess who he is, and he makes the same plans with Amelia. Dean, meanwhile, confides in Cassie (it's what leads to their breakup) as well as Lisa.
I also have to mention... one of the funniest things I see deancrit samgirls in particular dig at time after time after time is Dean calling women "bitches". Never mind that Sam also calls women like Ruby and Bela bitches and calls a woman a bitch in front of Madison. Apparently none of these occurrences count because... *looks at notes* reasons. "Bitch" only counts as misogyny when it's Dean saying it. Also, let's not mention that Sam exclusively uses the word "bitch" to refer to women, while Dean also calls men and creatures bitches at different points so it isn't a gender specific insult for him.
Dean is definitely the "heavy" misogynist here... right? (I guess Sam is a "tall" misogynist instead).
Purity culture wank and Dean performing for Sam
Dean is commonly treated in fandom as if he's some kind of sex pest, and quite blatantly... he isn't one. Women almost always proposition Dean first (thejabberwock has sets on this here and here), but him asking people out also isn't inherently creepy in any way? Co-occurring with Sam's purity culture inundated judgements, we often see fandom's own as well, where Dean is some kind of sex pest because he... likes women? Or... because he has sex with consenting women who also want to have sex with him? Sometimes it's giving purity culture wank, sometimes it's given big radfem energy... but regardless, I sometimes see people talk about Dean like him so much as making eye contact with a woman is a violent sexual threat, and that's just laughable—as is denying the agency and autonomy of consenting women in general.
Even though it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, I'll also add that Dean... doesn't even actually have sex with the frequency that people talk about it? Dean has sex with Cassie—who was a long term partner of his in 1.13. He has sex with an actress in 2.18, and with Doublemint twins in 3.01. He has sex with a waitress 4.05. He plans to have sex with someone in 3.04, but turns her down when he realizes she's a prostitute who's working. This happens again in 10.07. I'm on season 4 of my rewatch and haven't been formally keeping up... but Dean is not actually having a lot of sex? We get implications he's been out partying a few times, and can maybe infer he scored, but we don't actually know.
I'm not a huge fan of performing Dean, in the sense that I think over the years I have seen it wildly overstated far too many times. But I do think Dean sometimes plays a character for Sam especially. Dean tells us this himself in 2.03 "Bloodlust" when confiding in Gordon. He never says so directly when it comes to the sexy sex guy doing sex persona, but his actions reveal him. One can think of plenty of examples of Dean saying horny stuff about women to Sam... but what about his actions?
How Dean actually treats women
Finally, there's how Dean actually treats women... and one would be very hard pressed to prove to me that Dean is sexist toward the women in his life. He's been close friends with multiple women and worked with women on hunts on multiple occasions and never once batted an eye. Jo in 2.06 is sometimes floated as an example, but it's actually discussed within the episode. Dean makes it very clear that he thinks women can do the job just fine. What he has a problem with is Jo's lack of experience and her romanticization of the job (especially during a period where Dean has fallen deeply out of love with the job himself). Everything we see as the series progresses supports Dean's assertion as truth. He's very good friends with Charlie, Jody, and Donna and doesn't go around excluding them on hunts while favoring men. That is not a thing that happens. While he initially tries to talk Claire out of the life (as he does everybody—this is not unique to women—see Adam for example) when she decides to hunt, he supports her regardless. There is nothing uniquely overprotective about how Dean treats women who hunt. End of. Dean has no illusions about traditional gender roles or any of that nonsense, jumping to clean dishes after dinner at Jody's and cooking breakfast for Lisa and Ben. (Our knowledge of Dean and the chores he does for his family already tell us this—but regardless). Even Demon Dean, an entity with no love for anyone and close to zero principles, targeted men who abuse and threaten women, and when Crowley ordered him to kill Lester's wife to fulfill the terms of Lester's demon deal, Demon Dean instead became so deeply annoyed with Lester's hypocrisy (he cheated on his wife first) and his assertion that it's different when men cheat, that he killed him and smiled while doing it.
So anyway, nope—I don't think Dean is a "heavy" misogynist.

Sheets and Horror Movies.
Itoshi Rin. (Lovers AU, clingy Itoshi Rin.)
| psstt. part one over here. |
Things.. hadn't gone as planned.
Going from holding hands for the sake of the public's eye to make the relationship look more convincing, to him wrapping his legs around your waist while you were on top of him, with his hands holding you in place.
"You're not going to leave me. No." He mumbled and turned over to his side while you were still in his teddy bear grip. He pulled you even closer, forcing you to snuggle against his chest. You feel your cheeks squashed, and you look up to where there is light, almost begging for the oxygen to keep living. Is he trying to suffocate you or what?
And what the hell happened to one of his rules; 'no touching in private' shit?
"Chotto matte--" You gulped in a deep breath, before wiggling your body that was under his grip. You looked ridiculous, wiggling your body like a worm, but maybe some space and air could do you a lot of favor. "Rin let go-" You let out a grunt when he pulled you closer, hearing the rustling of the sheets as he moved your bodies.
"Shitakunai." He answers simply, leaving no room for further interrogation, not that it existed in the first place. You saw him looking at you with his half-lidded eyes, displaying emotions that you don't know, or at least pretending to not. He pressed your foreheads together, and you could've sworn that you felt his lips brush against yours as he spoke, that's how close he was to you.
"Can't you.. stay a little longer?"
The reality hit you like a truck. Things went the opposite way of what you had planned. It hit you how all this wasn't supposed to happen, and he wasn't supposed to act this way, holding you so close under the warm sheets of his mattress. And you were definitely not supposed to answer him the way you just did.
"Okay, okay. I won't go anywhere, so can you please not suffocate me to my death?" His grip loosens ever so slightly, and he even had a frown on his face, almost as if he didn't want to do so.
Both of your gazes eventually turned to the TV screen once more-- you even forgot that a horror movie was playing, even. Witnessing the dark atmosphere of the scenes and the eerie music made you squash him, pressing your cheek into his chest while barely taking a peek at the screen. You were the one complaining that you were suffocating to the death, yet here you are, squashing your figure further tighter in his grip. He didn't mind, yet he loved it. He knew just how much of a scaredy cat that you are, and he's using one of his favourite things; horror movies, as an advantage and an excuse to hold you in such ways.
The demon popped on the screen, displaying its sharp teeth that were covered in blood, followed by that annoying screech of it that somehow made you terrified, even after hearing it more than a thousand times. You let out a yelp and immediately closed your eyes and clung onto him for dear life.
That brought a small smile on his face, and you felt his chest move up and down as he chuckled at you. He stroked your hair and kissed the crown of your head, the soft smile never leaving his face.
" Adorable."

Bugs - Day 84
Race: Wilder
Arcana: Fool
Alignment: Dark-Neutral
August 1st, 2024
Tumblr media
One of the most commonly recurring 'tropes' in terms of fictional monsters has to be that of the boogeyman. These wives tales are spread to children to keep them from going into the dark at night and to help them avoid far more mundane dangers, whether it be wildlife, poison, or kidnappers- after all, a far more visible threat is easier to communicate than the subtler details of what could truly happen. Of all of these monsters made up to keep kids from heading out at night, though, there's one that's stepped beyond just being a story and into the pop-cultural consensus, becoming even a veritable DnD icon. This monster, of course, is the medieval European nightstalker, the Bugbear.
Despite being called bears, Bugbears are typically anything but the cuddly (albeit still dangerous) animals they get their names from. Their name derives from the term 'Bugge,' an old English word that's used to describe things that go bump in the night- monsters like hobgoblins or even scarecrows- a word that is purported to be derived from an obsolete Welsh word, bwgwl, a word indicating a threat. For the most part, Bugbears seemed to take the appearance of, well, bears, though sources are very scant for this topic. For the most part, the general consensus on Bugbears seems to be based primarily off of their depiction in Dungeons and Dragons, which, while a good depiction, isn't exactly what I'm looking for. Historically, they have a very hard origin to trace, and the closest I can find is a vague reference to the term Bugbear being mentioned in 1552 on the Marriam-Webster website.
The earliest concrete reference of the Bugbear appears to be in 1644 from a book by J. Booker, though I can't for the life of me find out where or what that book could be. However, a good place to truly start is 'The Bugbears,' an adaptation of a 1561 play that seems to circle around the general concept of a boogeyman. This all brings us back to boogeymen as a whole, a concept as old as time, really- parents want their kids to stop wandering off, so they make up stories about monsters in the great beyond. While I can't find an exact origin for the Bugbear specifically, and I'd love any further leads, the concept of the Bugbear as a boogeyman is the most commonly accepted one. The use of bugge and its connection to Hobgoblins also seems to have given weight to the general pop-culture consensus of the Bugbear as an upright, hairy monster who lurks in the wood, likely popularized primarily by DnD.
While mainly described as a bear in The Bugbears, one who was violent and targeted anybody wandering the woods at night, general conflation with hobgoblins has led to this idea falling to the wayside, which is why I really do enjoy the SMT design of Bugs. Playing into the childhood theme of a boogeyman, the design is primarily based on a teddy bear, though it quickly falls into a grotesque slaughterhouse as one looks down at the chest to see blood dripping from its mouth and countless skulls poking out of its stuffing. The poor stitching also adds to the general vibes of the ruining of innocence in the design, as it's literally bursting at the seams with the victims it's eaten.
Overall, while there isn't much to dig into with the Bugbear, I think its design in SMT is one of my favorites- it does something I love the series for in making a unique interpretation based on pre-existing folklore that comes out cohesive but still different. It's something that isn't always done fantastically, but when it's done well, like with Bugs, it is done well.

day 15: lingerie
Tumblr media
twice 1.4k words gender neutral reader insert Reader x Hirai Momo suggestive/SFW
🖤 warnings: lots of staring, a secret lingerie kink, or maybe just a big crush on momo who even knows~🖤
kinktober masterlist
connect with me! / masterlist
You've never felt less professional in your life.
It's the very essence of your job to look at pretty people. Being an assistant DP means your life is full of spotless sets, glittering lights, and beautiful, beautiful people. And usually, it's all mundane.
People can get used to anything, after long enough. And you'd thought you were used to pretty people.
This shoot isn't even anything special.
You've done dozens of lingerie shoots. Even a few kink shoots for adult websites, with even less clothes than the models are wearing today. And usually, any twinge of interest in the people wearing those clothes is absolutely killed by the alternately boring and stressful demands of your job. It's hard to be horny when you need to hold reflectors for eight hours straight.
But this client is unbelievable.
She's independently famous, something outside of modeling, but you're pretty sure you've never seen her before today.
You wish you had, though, because she's stunning.
The line being advertised is some very expensive lingerie brand that you've also never heard of, delicate luxury fabrics that the wardrobe girls have already complained about. Apparently they're only allowed to use certain kinds of thread to tailor them up, something about weight and fabric pulling. The intricacies of fashion are above you, but that's fine. The models look great.
Especially this girl.
You're sure your face is extremely unprofessional, as she takes off the big teddy bear coat covering her outfit and steps onto the set.
Her abs catch your eye first. You don't see many models with visible abs that seem like they're the result of effort, rather than simply body composition.
Wouldn't matter to you, either way, because her face is equally as stunning, and you can't fake that. Intelligent eyes and a sneaky smile, glossy black hair with stair bangs.
Ridiculously pretty.
"Are you ready?" asks the director.
This girl nods. "Ready."
"Anything uncomfy?"
"No."
"Then let's get going."
It's a businesslike exchange, polite and short, and usually you'd be right there with everyone else. Your boss, the DP, who's calling lights and judging the placement of fake plants. The director nudging and complimenting the model into different spots on the tight set.
Usually, you'd be just as busy. But you're just kind of...watching.
Watching, as this girl in her thick garters and black bustier bends and smolders and tosses her hair for the camera.
Someone finally says her name, and it's the makeup artist, darting to the edge of the set between shots.
"Momo, can I fix your lipstick?"
You think her lipstick is perfect, personally, but whatever. The makeup artist smooths a little brush over the model's full bottom lip, taking away some imperceptible imperfections, and you just watch, like an idiot.
Really, you never thought you had a thing for lingerie.
It's part of your job to see it in detail, like this. It's part of life to see it at all. You're  person in society. Clothes never really did it for you, even intimate clothes.
Must be the girl, then.
It must be.
"Let's do the warm light, next," the director decides. "Can I get the reflector in here?"
Shit. That means you.
The unwieldy gold fabric circle is admittedly pretty neat, a tool that reflects the studio lights back with a warm gold-colored tint. And this one is handheld, which means that someone has to stand next to the model and angle it just so, to get the perfect lighting.
That someone is you.
And in you go, hauling the reflector.
"Up close on the left, please. Her right," the director tells you. "Thanks."
You can't see any flaws in her lipstick up close, either. Momo gives you a very interesting, oddly knowing kind of smile, as you hover beside her with your reflector. It's a few moments of taking direction - a little right, a little up, closer...not that close you're in frame - and then just holding the pose until the director decides to let up.
Usually you'd be counting the seconds, as your muscles stiffen up from staying in the same awkward spot, praying for the shoot to end.
But right now, you're focused on not being super weird.
You need to watch her, to make sure that the light doesn't change. You need to be aware of the glare off the silvery hardware of her garters, to move the screen around if she changes poses. That, of course, means you kind of need to stare at her.
And Momo seems to like that you're staring at her.
Maybe you're reading into it, just wishful thinking. But every time she adjusts, and you adjust with her, trying to look at her just enough but not too much, Momo...looks at you.
It's a smirk, it's definitely a smirk. Not a smile. Sneakier than that. She's smirking at you.
That probably means that you're being obvious, and she can tell that you're interested in her. Or at least intrigued by her. She's so pretty, pretty enough that you probably wouldn't be brave enough to approach her at a party. Pretty enough that she's probably used to people reacting to her like this.
It doesn't help that she's only wearing lingerie.
"Anything else you wanna try?" the director asks.
This director is a nice lady, accommodating even when she has to rush through bookings like this to meet deadlines, so this is one of the usual questions. Letting the models suggest poses and concepts helps them take some control over their gigs, a rarity in the fashion world that moves so fast and objectifies so quickly. You usually appreciate it a lot.
But today, Momo hums her consideration, and looks at you.
"What do you think?" she asks.
You startle. "What?"
"Is there any position you think would look good?"
Momo is grinning at you, an innocent smile, but her eyes are glinting. She absolutely knows what she's doing, and she's doing it on purpose.
The director doesn't even blink. "Any ideas?"
"I mean, I-" you stammer. "No, everything has been good, yeah-"
"Then we're finished," the director decides.
Embarrassing, but you're safe now.
Or, you're safe for the next ten minutes.
Sets move fast, and it's only a matter of seconds before Momo has retreated to the greenroom with her manager, and the next girl is brought out. This girl is also very pretty, but you don't have the same brain-melting reaction to her. Which is a fucking relief, because it means that you didn't suddenly get weird.
As the next shoot starts, the DP calls you over.
"Can you go get the colored screens? We're gonna need red for this girl."
"Sure," you agree.
So you take the gold reflector, and the regular silver one, and walk to the supply racks to find the primary-colored ones. You'll grab red, and blue for good measure...
"You got a second?"
Oh, no.
You turn around, and there's Momo, wrapped in her teddy bear coat again, leaning against the doorway to her closet-sized greenroom.
"I guess," you say, nervous.
"I just wanted to know if you liked this outfit."
While you still have the presence of mind, you put the reflectors in their spot on the wheeled rack in the hallway.
That's a good call, too, because as soon as your eyes are on Momo again, she drops the coat.
And there's that lingerie set, again.
"It seemed like you liked it," she adds.
She's still standing like she's on set, posed against the doorframe, her fluffy coat piled at her feet. It's ridiculous that someone can be this hot. You're mesmerized by the dip of her skin around the tight band of the garters, the smooth lines of her cleavage over the top of the bustier, her abs...
"I liked it. I like it," you say.
You probably sound way too eager, but it's too late to try and fix yourself.
Momo tilts her head, looking purposefully, artfully curious. "Would you wanna touch it?"
You wheeze.
"The outfit, I mean," she says mildly. "Of course. It's really nice. You could touch it."
You're not entirely sure what's happening, or why, but there is some higher power smiling down on you right now, and you're not about to waste it.
Fingers of one hand tugging at the thigh strap of her garter, the other hand smoothing a path up the expensive silk and lace of her bustier. She's all but laughing at you and your eagerness, and she lets you crowd her backwards into her greenroom. You at least have the presence of mind to not want to get caught.
"This a normal thing for you?" Momo asks.
You relish the chance to answer. "No!"
"Huh." Her face is far too satisfied. "Must just be me, then."
The feeling of the delicate material of her lingerie under your hands does feel fantastic, but you think she's probably right.

happy 4th anniversary to Rikka!
Tumblr media
October 20th is Rikka’s anniversary. Because he is one of my favorite vtubers, I thought I could share some trivia about him here!
Holostars official site:
A "high-tech" robot called a holoroid. It turns out that his memory capacity is only 2 GB, so he is a bit of an airhead.  The gap between his soft talking voice and singing voice is quite charming. He is working hard to share his songs around the world.
Rikka is known for his singing skills. He currently has 6 original songs and 34 covers.
He also does many acoustic singing streams while playing his guitar.
(I recommend this stream)
Like what the stars website says, he has a capacity of 2gb, which can result in 2gb moments happening on stream
youtube
Even though he can be an airhead sometimes, he is also very skilled at gaming, especially platfomers. Alongside playing previously platformers such as hollow knight, Celeste, super Mario 3D world, he occasionally streams Mario maker every now and then, and plays levels with a less than 1% clear rate.
Besides platform games, he is holostar’s Tetris player and sometimes streams Tetris 99. He also plays a lot of horror games. You might have also seen him play Apex. His highest rank is masters and he occasionally shows up in other vtuber’s Apex streams to play with them. He mains Loba.
Currently, he is into street fighter 6 and mains Luke. He just recently got master rank.
Since his 3rd year in holostars, he has published 3 new original songs, ranked 2nd place in Shibuya Hal’s Apex tournament vsaikyo season 5, ranked 1st in Apex Matsuri, participated in street fighter tournament Reject Fight Night, sung for 10 cover songs, became a voice actor for a character in a multimedia project, debuted in the unit Unplan with Miyabi, Aruran, and Shien which also has an original song sung by the four of them, and just recently hosted a vtuber singing tournament ( vtuber singing king, also co hosted with Suisei).
Make sure to send him a congratulations on his tweet, and check out his anniversary stream today ( or tomorrow depending on where you live). Let’s look forward to what he has planned in his 4th year, and something is already coming up, which is a holostars street fighter tournament in November hosted by him.
Thanks for reading

Welcome to the official Tech Support blog for C.O.G.S. Incorporated. This is Théoden Bähr speaking, Theo for short. Codename "Maintenance Teddy-Bear," Mr./Mx. honorifics. As laid out between my staff and I, I will use uncolored text in posts. I primarily handle general maintenance supervision. For corporate purposes, I am considered a Bossbot. "Level 50.mgr," apparently.
Webmaster speaking! Full name Archimedes Webster. If you're respectful, you can call me Archie. Any and all pronouns and honorifics. I use blue text! I handle anything related to the cogs.ink website. If you have inquiries related to that, I will likely be the person answering them, unless I am out of commission. I am a Boardbot.
Tobias Boswell the Service Manager here. He/nix pronouns, and Mr. honorifics. I'll use green text. I handle general technological services, such as external social media... like this. I'm a Sellbot.
As the lead of the Tech Support team, I have elected to lay out some interaction rules. First and most foremost, we will not do battles. It is my understanding that Toons typically do not challenge suits to battle via Tumblr, however I felt it needed stating anyways. Secondly, we will not participate in Toon activities. We have important work to do. And thirdly... refrain from using Toon magic, please. Keep it away from us.
(ooc under cut)
Welcome to the Tech Support blog! Temporarily text-only. I have basic ideas for their apperance but no refs.
I, the mod, prefer Maes or PeachyMun. Do not call me Peachy. If you must shorten my name, use "PM" instead. Pronouns page here.
Archie is a Level 32.mgr v2.0, Tobias is a Level 18.mgr.
Théoden, obviously, is a teddy bear-based suit. Archimedes is based off a Fighting Spider (pretty lads!!), and Tobias has a smartphone for a head.
Actual Rules
No NSFW allowed.
I reserve the right to reject or modify any M!As that I receive. (yes, I take M!As)
Please follow standard roleplay etiquette: no godmodding, please respond with at least half a sentence, respect my boundaries, ask first before killing/maiming my character, etcetera.
These guys are newer characters, so bear with me! This is also my first multi-character blog in a bit.
Facts about Theo that he won't tell you
Secretly, he has a soft spot for bear toons. They're so much like him... (This does not extend to U. N. Kani.)
They are literally in their 60s. Sir, please.
If a toon came with intentions of just hanging out and NOT trying to beat him into scrap metal and mangled stuffing, he would probably actually let them hang out. It's a well-needed break from toons convinced he's the next "boss fight" or something.
Facts about Archie they won't tell you
A bit scared of cats, and cat toons by extension. Not for any tangible reason that xe know of, just a deep-seated fear from early childhood. It's a lot better than it used to be, at least!
She actually has god-awful vision. Thankfully, she has contacts. Glasses are too easy to break or lose... though she does own a pair or two.
Utterly oblivious to Mac Opsys having access to Cogs.Ink. Too busy dealing with other stuff... overworked.
Facts about Tobias he won't tell you
Knows about Tiberius' Acorn Acres activities. Does not care, but definitely knows that he (used to?) hang out there to do detective work and be an information broker.
He's actually really weak for his level. Only 1200 or so HP.
If he could bite, he would be biting toons.

Tumblr media
Y/n sat in her bed, covers pulled up to her chin as she stared out the window. She had a teddy bear tucked into her chest, her arms wrapped tightly around it. Her TV played a video with a fireplace on it, creating a warm atmosphere in her room.
She felt sad, a new wave of depression rolling in. She had spent today on socials, getting caught up with the latest and interacting with her friends. She occasionally got hate, most of it from her brothers' fans who just desperately wanted to have her life. It bothered her to a certain extent, she knew she had no control over who her brothers were and what they had become, what they did for a living.
Today the hate was worse and she didn’t know why. She hadn’t done anything differently than in the past, simply just living her life as usual. She didn’t know if the comments themselves were worse and there were more of them or if it was her mind playing tricks on her and making them a big focal point.
She didn’t want to get up, her bed and blankets brought her enough comfort which is all she needed right now. She could hear Luke and Jack arguing from the kitchen and she rolled her eyes, there was never a time when their home was silent. She snuggled herself deeper into the bed, not even sure if it was physically possible.
She knew she should go tonight, she hadn’t seen Quinn in a long time, not having gone to the previous ‘hughesbowl’ as they called it. She wasn’t a big hockey person, despite her family’s name. She never understood the appeal of it, you watch a bunch of men or women, race back and forth on ice chasing a tiny round piece of rubber while hitting others.
That being said, she didn’t know why her brothers playing each other was so special. Matthew and Brady had played each other plenty of times, so they just added a third brother and it was the biggest thing on the planet. She got the appeal of it but not so much as the big deal, she was proud of them sure and it would make for a good game but past that?
She heard footsteps coming towards her room and she quickly ducked her head under her comforter to be ignored by whoever was coming to the door, “Y/n/n?”
She was silent, steadying her breath, “I know you’re awake.”
Still nothing and at this point, Luke was just about ready to give up until Jack charged in, “Get up!”
She wasn’t in the mood to see everyone rave about her brothers, she didn’t need to go out into the world and see more hate spread about her. What would it be this time? Oh, she’s not supporting Quinn, that’s kind of a bitch move. Oh, she favors Jack and Luke too much. She’s wearing Quinn’s jersey, that must be her favorite brother. Do you think she’s using them to get with any of their teammates? She couldn’t do anything right anymore.
“Y/n if you’re not up in the next five seconds I’m bringing a pot in.”
“Do you even own a pot?”
“No… but you’re talking now.” Jack cocked an eyebrow, an all too familiar smug look making its way onto the boy’s face.
Y/n turned around to face her bedroom door and muttered, ‘Congratu-fucking-lations.”
“Someone’s got an attitude.” Jack whistled, eyebrows raising again.
“Bro, come on.” Luke hit his older brother on the chest before walking over to the girl, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“That’s a load of bullshit.”
“It’s nothing, Luke.” She raised her left arm to wipe the growing tears in her eyes. Luke eyed them carefully, placing a hand on her arm, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. Good luck tonight.”
At this, Jack furrowed his eyebrows, “Why are you saying that like you’re not going to go?”
“Because I’m not.”
“What do you mean you’re not? You were excited to see Quinn.”
“I dunno.” Her eyes looked everywhere her brothers weren’t.
“Are you not feeling well?”
She merely shrugged before turning over again, the boys exchanging looks, “All right well if you change your mind, let me know and I’ll come back and get you.”
“Okay.” The brothers left, heading to the Rock leaving their sister alone with her thoughts.
It was twenty minutes later that she felt she wanted to go, she should support her brothers no matter what. She got ready, throwing a Canucks shirt on and her Devil's beanie covering her hair to hide the uncleanliness of it.
She texted Jack and asked for him to come back for her, to which he responded instantly with a yes. She sat on her bed, swinging her legs back and forth as she waited for her brother to come and get her.
゚+*:୨୧:*﹤
To y/n the game was uneventful, just another one of the hockey games she could add to her total. The six of them had decided they would go out for dinner and being away from Quinn for such a long time she decided to ride with him to the restaurant and back.
When they got back to Jack, Luke, and y/n’s home, the girl immediately returned to her room, not so much as saying a word to anyone. The five remaining Hughes’ exchanged confused glances, “Has she been like this for a while?”
No one responded to Quinn’s question at first until Jack thought back to earlier, “She was acting a little weird before the game but I just thought she was tired.”
They all seemed as if that was a good enough assumption and sat in the living room watching a movie. Meanwhile Luke had been oddly silent, he knew there was something wrong with her from the moment he walked into the room this afternoon.
He excused himself from the family, walked down the hall to her room, and knocked on the door, “Go away!”
Luke entered the room and just as before, knelt in front of her so their eyes were meeting, “I know there’s something up with you.”
“No there’s not.”
“Come on, spill it.”
It was silent before y/n looked at her brother with glistening eyes, “Why are people so mean, Lukey?”
That was all it took for her to start crying, Luke wasting no time jumping onto the bed, wrapping his little sister up in a hug. The sudden affection caused her to let the tears flow over and bury her head into his chest. All Luke could do was hug her tightly, staring at the wall as his heart shattered. There was nothing but the sound of her sobs he could listen to, it was like the world had gone dead silent to amplify her cries.
He closed his eyes, trying not to let the tears form or fall from them. He heard her sniffle, signaling that she was calming down a bit. There was a knock on the door and she quickly whipped her head up, “I don’t want to see anyone. Please.”
The boy looked conflicted before coming up with an idea, “If it’s Mom and Dad how about I tell them to go away but if it’s Jack and Quinn you have to let them in okay?”
She nodded, knowing that she wasn’t going to get very far with this. Luke called out, waiting for the person on the other side of her door to respond. When the voice called back and they both instantly recognized it was Quinn’s she sighed before squeaking out a ‘come in.’ Quinn entered the bedroom, his younger brother following behind him with his hands crossed across his chest. Quinn took notice of the girl’s face, followed by Jack as they sat at the end of the bed, "What's going on?”
Y/n sat up pulling her knees into her chest, wrapping her arms around them. She looked hesitantly between her brothers, not wanting to say what it was that was happening to her. She was old enough that she didn’t need to be treated like a baby who could break at any moment.
Quinn’s older brother persona was comforting out of all three of them. If she had to rank them, let’s just say Jack would be at the bottom of her list while Luke was tied, or maybe just slightly under Quinn. She only looked at him before looking back down. Luke placed a comforting hand on the girl’s shoulder, “We want to help you, y/n/n.”
Words were hard for the youngest Hughes, not knowing how to explain how she felt or what was happening. They never came easily to her, they never pieced together to form a complete sentence sometimes, and they never made sense when she was upset. She reached out for her phone that sat on the nightstand and Luke leaned over to grab it for her, placing it in her hands.
She pulled up screenshots of the comments so took, a constant reminder of why she wasn’t good enough for the Hughes’. She held the phone out, ready for any one of them to take it. Quinn was the first to take the phone, eyes scanning over the screen and swiping through the pictures. His facial expressions were very noticeable, his eyes widening at the language used, his mouth frowning at the comments, the tears in his eyes as he thought about his little sister going through this.
He passed it to Jack when he was done, rubbing his eyes rid of the tears. They all waited in silence as Jack and Luke read the messages, tension filling the air. The three brothers exchanged looks, silently conversing without y/n noticing. In the silence, y/n started to grow anxious. What if they started to realize that what they were saying was true? What if they started to believe them?
Luke turned off the phone and placed it back on her nightstand, looking at his older brothers in a way that asked who was going to say the first words. They could all see the gears turning inside their sister’s head, nervous about what she was thinking. Quinn reached an arm out and placed it around her, pulling her into his side, “You know none of that is true, none of it.”
She just shook her head, not believing a word he said. Jack tried next, attempting to break through to her, “It’s going to be hard to hear at first, y/n/n, but nothing they say is true. They just-” Jack sighed, not really knowing where to go from there.
“They just hate me, it’s simple. They hate me which makes me hate myself.” She put her head down so it was resting on her arms.
The brothers hadn’t felt this sad about something in a while, they gazed at her with tears in their eyes. They never would have thought that she of all people would be getting hate, she’s not even a public figure. They felt horrible about themselves even though it wasn’t their fault, she was experiencing this just because they were related to her.
Quinn removed his arm from around her shoulders moving to sit in front of her. He moved her arms so she had to lift her head to look at him, “What?”
“Don’t say that. You have no reason to hate yourself, y/n.”
“Don’t cry.” She could hear the tears in his voice despite the fact that she wasn’t directly looking at him.
“Can’t help it. Our little sister is sitting in front of us, crying because she thinks she’s not good enough.” Luke spoke for the first time in a while. His voice cracked at some point throughout the sentence, bringing him to tears.
She reached out to hold his hand as a form of comfort which he gladly accepted. She looked at the three, noticing Jack’s oddly quiet persona. She tilted her head in confusion and looked him in the eye. When he made eye contact with her, he broke down himself. His tears left his siblings in shock, not expecting him to do that.
“What’s wrong, Jack?”
“I don’t want her to go through what I went through.”
Quinn moved from his spot to wrap his younger brother in a hug, “She won’t and you know why?”
He shook his head, burying his head into his shoulder, “Because she has us. Because she has you.”
The four Hughes siblings were left a crying mess after that night. Each of them fully broke down at one point or another, some more than others. Quinn had broken down in silence when all four went to bed in the same room at the thought of his younger siblings being this sad, being attacked by people who were nobodies. Jack’s breakdown affected everyone, he had known what his sister was going through. After his rookie season, he thought it would never let up.
Luke broke down mostly because everyone else was, he didn’t like seeing everyone sad. He started laughing halfway through crying because he didn’t actually know why he was crying. This was near the end of the night, everyone had practically run out of tears by then and laughed with him as soon as he started to.
Y/n only broke down at one other point during the night, it was right before they went to bed. She had gone on her phone and the first thing she saw was a comment from someone on her latest post. She had begged her brothers to make it stop even though she knew they couldn’t do anything about it. However, she was determined not to let it bother her anymore so she made her brothers promise her they would help her with it.
And they did, they would protect her from anything even if it was their so-called fans.

Terror's Trance: Part 1 (A Gift Or A Curse?)
(Jonathan Crane Origin) (Jonathan Crane x OC)
A disclaimer, this is probably such a shit story, I'm not going to lie. But, it is just my spin on Jonathan Crane-ish - based on a mix of all of my comics (I have the majority of comics shown on the DC website). Sorry - if you don't like the slight modernisation.
~~~~~Prelude~~~~~~
He was an outsider, ever since he had been conceived. In a small religious town, where everybody knew everybody, he was the only child with parents together out of Wedlock. His life was a struggle, not having one moment of respite that he could ever remember.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arlen was a very divided one half was full of common people working day to day, to simply put food on the table and provide for their families. The other half were descendants of aristocrats that believed they still had ruling power on the other members of public, often these families often had a higher number of the older generation still living and out to scrutinise any differences to what it used to be - or more, how it 'should' be.
One of the most powerful families that had ruled over Arlen was the Keeny family, its oldest living member being Mary Keeny. They were a pureblooded family, to the point of interbreeding to keep it that way. There was always something a little bit... strange with the family, other than their partners.
Mary had been born in 1921. At the age of 8, Mary Keeny had lost her mother and her grandfather due to the pressures of the Wallstreet Crash, as her grandmother had died rather young, she didn't have a female guardian in her life. Only her father and he was very wary of how she would turn out, and he had no idea how to bring her up to be the 'perfect' wife.
Instead he shoved her away, sent her away to church - paying for them to give her extra concentrated lessons and teachings around God. Making sure to instil very strong values in her. Ones that she would grow to be unyielding about, honouring and keeping them close for the rest of her life. Her father knew that the Keeny family had to be secured, so he sealed a deal for her to be married as soon as she turned 16, when he could give her the consent for her to do so.
When Mary turned 16 she was wed to her cousin Edward William Keeny, who was 22. She was a very strict, harsh and serious woman. Keeping her values steady, he however was much the opposite, they balanced each other out. And while in the beginning she wasn't fond of him, and gave him the most backhanded of pet names, she couldn't resist when he called her his 'darling little lamb.'
He had even built her a small chapel, it was somewhere she would hold service every night, but Edward would still keep his array of birds in there. Serving as both an aviary and a chapel. Something she prided herself on was how beautiful it was, and how people would honour it.
After 12 years of trying, they had finally conceived. And in 1949, Marion Keeny was born, however this 'miracle' was extremely stressful on Mary's body and the Doctor urged Mary not to have any other children, if she valued her life. This took away Mary's wish of having a baby boy, which was all she ever wanted. She couldn't part with that idea.
With the excess of money that their family owned, she had enough money to buy double everything, one set in pink and one set in blue. She created the most perfect of nurseries, not for her little girl... no. For the little boy, she was robbed of. As Marion grew and her room changed, so did her boys changing with every stage of life. Until late childhood, then it stayed decorated with every toy and teddy bear you could imagine.
Their family seemed, no had to have an unstable gene that ran rife and uncontrollable, as at age 4, in 1953, Marion's father took a shotgun to his head. He held on longer than a lot of the family, but Mary couldn't understand it. Suicide was a mortal sin, he would be severely punished by god for it, and he had left wife and daughter alone. The exact opposite of what a man was supposed to do.
Marion was raised with all of Mary's views, strict rules and church every night. She was to be prim and proper, she had a name to uphold.
Eventually, it was decided for Marion to marry. And she was married away to her second cousin Thomas Alaric Keeny. They were only together for appearances, Marion didn't believe herself to be the marriage kind, but her mother said otherwise. She kept away from the one thing she couldn't stand for as long as possible, childbirth. Her mothers will was stronger than her own and at 39 years of age, in 1988 Marion Keeny gave birth to a child of her own. One she had no interest in having - and as soon as possible was back out partying and liaising with other self-involved, aristocrat descendants.
Mary was livid when she had found out that the child she pressured her daughter into having was a girl, she couldn't carry the name, she couldn't provide, she was simply another difficult mouth to feed.
Thomas worked hard on the farm to keep it in perfect condition, and to keep the money rolling in. But he was also a good man, he cared deeply for his daughter, Karen. And would be there for her when he wasn't working. Mary had such a large disdain for him because of this, that wasn't a man's job. He didn't seem like a true Keeny, what good man would allow himself to be emasculated in such a way?
Other than her father, Karen was raised by her Grandmother, to be the most perfect little girl. Going to service and even reading for her some nights always listening intently to what was being said. Her respect for God knew no bounds.
In 1997, Thomas was taking particularly long in the fields. He was two hours late to dinner, and Mary despised tardiness. She sent a 9-year-old Karen out to seek her father, only to find his body severely sunburned and un-moving. It was unknown how long he had been dead, but heatstroke was the cause. She was heartbroken, but unable to show this. Even at the funeral, Catholic funerals are notoriously long and not one tear was allowed to flow - not under her grandmothers eye.
Her faith had been broken, the one she felt had cared was gone If such a God was real, a one like the one her Grandmother spoke so highly about,  he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. Not to such a young girl.
She lost her faith - abandoned. She was in a complete downward spiral, she started sneaking out going to parties and would do anything to get her mind off her sorrows.
It had now been maybe 7 years since her father had died and it had been 3 years since she started experimenting with hard drugs and alcohol to fill the void that had been caused by his death. Most of the time she was up to the eyeballs in various substances and nothing could hurt her, she couldn't feel anything and it was just the way she had wanted it to be.
She thought that nothing could scare her, that was until she suddenly found herself blinded by fear.
Recently, she had been feeling... different. It had only been a couple days, but not even a top up of drugs could make it go away. Maybe the drugs had been tampered with? No, that's too far.
She had her suspicions, but the symptoms weren't painfully obvious. Or maybe she wanted to remain unaware, so stayed oblivious. There was some muscle fatigue and sensitivity to smells and flavours. There was something she had thought, but she didn't want to dwell on it - pregnancy. No way could it have happened to her. Surely not? Oh, how wrong she was...
They had used protection; she did everything she could - they both had covered all fronts. This couldn't be happening to her. If the result was positive, what could she do? Everyone would know! Her family was one of the families that founded this town, and even regular citizens had their personal business spread within a matter of days. This town wasn't the town for keeping secrets, the people were so tightly woven together. And although the town lay in a place like Georgia, it was cold to the core, people were unaccepting and superstitious. If they weren't a founding family, that was living off the dying money their family once had; they were just short of living like the Amish. It was dreadfully outdated, and most younger people had outgrown the old behaviours and departed.
Building a plan in her head, she knew she had to find out somehow. She would tell her mother and grandmother she was going to some extra Saturday class. That's when she'd confirm it. Saturday came way quicker than she had imagined, and she drove out of the little place that had eyes and ears on every surface. Just to grab a couple of tests to confirm what she wanted - that she WASN'T pregnant. If she had bought them here, headlines and straplines along the lines of: 'Un-pious Pregnancy,' 'Karen Keeny, the Unmarried young granddaughter of the God-fearing, devoted Mary keeny, has a pregnancy scare?' That was the last thing she needed, especially if it were the truth, which she was sure it wasn't.
She didn't need the shame and condescension if it was just a stress reaction from her body, she didn't want to be regarded as a common whore. She hoped that no one would see her taking a drive out of town.
She drove her way, drinking plenty of fluids as she did. Making sure that she had the ability to take the test. She sure had by the time she arrived at her destination: a petrol station in the middle of nowhere.
She thought she would burst as she purchased the tests from the woman behind the counter, who offered her a reassuring smile. Karen could only replicate a weak curling of her lips. A petrol station was the most unexpected place to receive a dose of encouragement but Karen took it, she needed it more than anything.
As she wandered to the bathroom, she wondered what it would mean for her if there was a new path in her life. A marriage would be involved almost instantly. She quickly shook her head, once again telling herself that she wasn't pregnant. And there was no point in stressing over something that wasn't even real or relevant to her child-free life. She prepared the tests, and took them all. This was something to be sure of. She placed them neatly back in the box and made her way back to the car. As she sat herself back into the car seat, the allocated time had already passed.
Even when it came time to look, she felt she couldn't. She wasn't ready, but the logical side of her mind that somehow was still there, even after the drug abuse, grabbed her and informed her that it wouldn't change the result. So, she needed to bite the bullet.
A couple more moments of stressed hesitation had passed before she picked them back out of the box and looked at the results. In that moment, it was like the world had come crashing down on her.
Guilt. Dread and guilt were the most prominent emotions that flooded her senses as she stared down at the two lines one the strip - Positive. The emotions were so thick - suffocating and drowning her while she stared down at the lines. She was pregnant. On every test there were two clear lines, she double checked it repeatedly, there was no doubt about it. All she wanted was for the ground to swallow her whole. Many things crossed her mind in the moment, so many thoughts that not one was coherent enough to understand. She placed her head on the steering wheel as she gripped it tight, trying to reign in the freely flowing thoughts.
The one that started to overpower the others, the loudest and most potent was that she knew how disappointed her mother and grandmother would be, disappointed being a major understatement. She was disgraced in the eyes of God and tarnished the name of their family. Having relations outside of marriage was hugely prohibited. Getting pregnant, however, that was far worse. She would try to hide it, at least for as long as possible, something told her that wouldn't be for awfully long.
She was now responsible for two people, which was strange for her. She had barely been responsible for one in the last few years of her life, abusing her body with many substances. But, she did feel a sort of protection around the baby, she had to shield them both from the three recipients of the news: Gerald (the father), Marion (her mother), and Mary (her grandmother). That last two she knew for certain would have a furious wrath.
She made her way back home, and hid the tests in a place she knew would never be found. So, she could present them to the father of her child, when the time had come.
In the moment, the young woman didn't really know what to do. She was extremely fond of Gerald, she really was. He was intelligent, charismatic, tall, attractive and strong. He was a descendant of another founding family, he was a couple years older, and was a psychologist. She thought that nothing could've improved him. But, unfortunately, the man she created the child with wasn't her boyfriend, their relationship was never based on feelings but a narcotic fuelled attraction, that they knew would end in a good time. However, everything had now changed, and they both had a responsibility to at least one thing in this world. That thing being a child.
She wasn't sure if he wanted to pursue her, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to pursue him either. Not that he was ugly - God no. She had never thought about him romantically in her intoxicated state. And if their current affair, if it were to result in a relationship, wouldn't be from the most organic origins. She wasn't sure if that was something she wanted, but likely their families wouldn't give them a choice.
Gerald already had rumours that his parents desperately tried to cover up. He was known to be a bit strange, even though he had rich friends, the best grades and sociable. Maybe it was linked to the fact he used his knowledge of Psychopharmacology, and often was a supplier of some of the drugs at the parties. Or maybe it was deeper? But, she felt she knew him and that didn't seem so truthful.
It had been two weeks since she had found out the big reveal, and people were suspecting something due to her lack of partying. Something she reported was down to an odd illness. She felt it was time to give Gerald the information she had to, she still had his number from their various interactions. Giving a quick message, to tell him she had to speak to him, she started to get in the car. He quickly responded with a simple 'Ok.' And the directions to his apartment.
She knocked on his door, and quickly he answered the door, shooting her his most charming grin, which made her feel weak in the knees. He stepped aside and offered her into the room, telling her to sit at the table near the kitchen. She did so and as she sat, he spoke, "I wasn't expecting to see you again, Karen. Nonetheless, I'm happy you're here, what are you needing from me?" She smiled a tight smile and her legs bounced up and down, "I didn't think, we'd really speak again either. But I have something important to tell... that involves you." She sputtered. "Oh? And what is that?" Gerald said with a hint of almost confusion in his voice, but the happiness radiating from the man, made it seem like he knew.
She gathered all the confidence she could, and then the confession came "I'm pregnant, and it's 100% yours." She let it out quickly, with a heavy sigh of relief that followed shortly after, her stomach feeling like a bottle of carbonated liquid that had been vigorously shaken and just that confession had allowed the pressure to dissipate. "Oh, wow. That's a shock, especially due to the circumstances. Are you okay?" He asked, reaching his hand out and placing it on hers. "Erm, emotionally I'm not sure. But, physically there aren't that many symptoms, but these," she used her free hand to place the tests on the table in front of them, "These confirmed it all. Gerald, what do we do? You know what this town is like, if I go to the doctors. Or do anything that could let this slip. We'll be ridiculed." She tapped her hand up and down, as she anxiously rambled to him. "Who cares what anyone else thinks-"
"Gerald, you went to school with me. You know what my mother and my grandmother are like, I can't have this happen." His smile dropped "Oh, yes how could I have forgotten, your mother is a socialite who only cares for appearance, and your grandmother there is no word and people say I'm crazy. We'll sort something out; I'll be here for you and the child at any moment." This allowed a small smile to break out from Karen. "Thank you, you have made this much easier than I anticipated."
"I'm glad, I could remedy your stress for a bit. I don't really think I could be that mad at you Karen. So, really don't worry. We'll work this out, somehow." He reassured. "Again, thank you. I'm going to go now, but keep in touch. I need to get my affairs in order-"
"God, you sound like you're preparing to die." Gerald jested. "As you said, with my Grandmother, that crazy old bat. Who knows what could happen?" Karen quipped back, with far too much seriousness for Gerald and his face hardened slightly. "Right, well. Of course, just send a message. Then I'll let my parents know. I should be free most of the time. Goodbye." Karen stood up with the tests and placed them in her bad, nodded and departed. "Bye, Gerald." And he closed the apartment door behind her.
She left, and quickly went home, thankful that telling Gerald was a much more stress-free experience than she had originally thought. This allowed her to relax just a touch and think a bit more clearly, knowing she had one person that was willing to fight her corner.
This however left Gerald to think of ways to inform his parents on their situation. He couldn't inform them straight away, they would let the two older Keeny women know immediately. He knew they would be thankful that it wasn’t a commoner at least. The Keeny family was respected and perhaps they would be more lenient.

Um, hope this wasn't shit you know? I wouldn't be surprised if it is, or if it is very slow.
Here is my imagined look of his parent's (basing the crane on Cillian Murphy), ignore if you don't like it:
I tried to draw his mother and it looks so fucking badddd and gave up on his dad. So, I have sims:

The Rise of Online Flowers: A Convenient Way to Spread Joy
Flowers have long been a symbol of love, appreciation, and celebration. Their vibrant colors and delicate fragrances make them the perfect gift for any occasion, from birthdays and anniversaries to graduations and condolences. With the advent of technology, the process of purchasing flowers has evolved significantly. Today, buying flowers online is a popular choice for many, offering convenience, variety, and a touch of elegance. In this article, we'll explore the world of online flowers, discuss the benefits of using online flower delivery services, and provide tips on selecting the perfect flower bouquet online.
Tumblr media
The Convenience of Ordering Flowers Online
The shift from traditional flower shops to online platforms has revolutionized the way people buy and send flowers. Here’s why online flower delivery is becoming the preferred choice for many:
24/7 Accessibility: Unlike brick-and-mortar flower shops, online flower delivery services are available around the clock. This means you can order a flower bouquet online anytime, anywhere—whether it’s late at night or during a busy workday. The flexibility of placing orders at your convenience makes online shopping a hassle-free experience.
Wide Range of Options: Online flower shops typically offer a broader range of flower arrangements than physical stores. From classic roses and lilies to exotic orchids and tulips, the variety is endless. Additionally, many online platforms categorize flowers by occasion, color, and type, making it easier to find the perfect bouquet for any event.
User-Friendly Experience: With intuitive websites and mobile apps, ordering flowers online is a straightforward process. You can easily browse through different categories, view high-quality images of each bouquet, read descriptions, and select add-ons like chocolates, teddy bears, or balloons to complement your floral gift.
Customizable Arrangements: Online flower delivery services often provide options for customization. Whether you want to mix different types of flowers or choose specific colors to match the recipient's preferences, customization options allow for a personalized touch that adds extra thoughtfulness to your gift.
The Benefits of Online Flower Delivery
Ordering flowers online comes with numerous advantages that enhance the gifting experience:
Freshness Guaranteed: Reputable online flower delivery services work closely with local florists to ensure that flowers are freshly cut and arranged before delivery. This ensures that the flowers arrive at their destination in pristine condition, retaining their vibrancy and fragrance.
Same-Day and Scheduled Delivery: Many online flower delivery services offer same-day delivery options, which is perfect for last-minute gifts or spontaneous surprises. Additionally, you can schedule deliveries in advance for specific dates, ensuring that your flowers arrive exactly when you want them to, whether it’s for a special occasion or just to brighten someone’s day.
No Geographical Constraints: One of the most significant benefits of online flower delivery is the ability to send flowers across cities, states, or even countries. This is particularly useful for those who want to send a thoughtful gift to loved ones who live far away, bridging distances with a beautiful floral arrangement.
Cost-Effective Options: Online flower delivery services often have competitive pricing, seasonal discounts, and promotional offers. This allows you to find a beautiful flower bouquet online within your budget, making it an affordable option for gifting.
Choosing the Perfect Flower Bouquet Online
Selecting the right flower bouquet online is crucial to convey your message effectively. Here are some tips to help you choose the perfect bouquet:
Consider the Occasion: Different occasions call for different types of flowers. For romantic occasions like anniversaries or Valentine’s Day, roses are a classic choice. For celebrations like birthdays or graduations, a vibrant mix of flowers like daisies, sunflowers, or lilies can add joy and cheerfulness. For expressing sympathy or condolences, white lilies or roses are appropriate, symbolizing purity and peace.
Know the Recipient’s Preferences: Taking the recipient’s preferences into account can make your flower gift more meaningful. If you know their favorite flowers or colors, select a bouquet that reflects their tastes. If you’re unsure, opt for a mixed bouquet with a variety of flowers and colors to appeal to a wider range of preferences.
Check Seasonal Availability: Seasonal flowers are often fresher, more vibrant, and more affordable. Choosing flowers that are in season can also add a unique touch to your bouquet, as they are less commonly available year-round. Spring flowers like tulips and daffodils or autumn blooms like chrysanthemums and dahlias can add a seasonal charm to your gift.
Read Reviews and Ratings: Before finalizing your purchase, take the time to read customer reviews and ratings for the online flower delivery service. This will give you an idea of the quality and reliability of the service, helping you make a more informed decision.
Consider Add-Ons: Many online flower delivery services offer add-ons like chocolates, balloons, greeting cards, or teddy bears. These extras can enhance your gift and make it more memorable, especially for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.
Ensuring a Smooth Online Flower Delivery Experience
To ensure your flower delivery goes smoothly, follow these steps:
Double-Check Delivery Information: Make sure you provide accurate delivery details, including the recipient’s name, address, and phone number. This helps avoid any delays or misdeliveries and ensures your flowers arrive on time.
Choose a Reliable Service: Opt for a well-known online flower delivery service with a strong reputation for quality and customer service. Look for services that offer guarantees on freshness and delivery, as well as secure payment options.
Track Your Order: Many online flower delivery platforms offer tracking options, allowing you to monitor the status of your order in real-time. This feature provides peace of mind, ensuring your bouquet is on its way and will arrive as scheduled.
Include a Personalized Message: Adding a heartfelt message to your flower bouquet can make your gift more personal and meaningful. Most online flower delivery services offer options to include a custom message, so take advantage of this feature to convey your sentiments.
Follow Up with the Recipient: After the delivery, check in with the recipient to ensure they received the flowers and are happy with the arrangement. This follow-up can help resolve any issues promptly and shows that you care about their experience.
Conclusion
Online flowers have transformed the way we send love, joy, and appreciation to our loved ones. With the convenience of online flower delivery services, sending a beautiful flower bouquet online is now easier than ever. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply want to brighten someone’s day, online flowers offer a simple yet thoughtful way to make an impact. Welcoming a new baby with hampers and flowers
Welcoming a new baby is a very special occasion and should be thought about very seriously. The gifts that you buy for the new arrival will stay in the families thoughts this website forever and will be talked about for many years to come.
When considering gifts for a new baby, flowers are always a great idea. This is more for the benefit of the mother more than anything else. After all, she has been through a traumatic and stressful time and needs all the cheering up she can get, especially with all of those sleepless nights. Flowers can make any room look much better and can make the room smell lovely as well. Not only that, but certain fragrances of flowers have feel good factors which can act as aromatherapy in a sense.
When you are thinking of gifts for the baby, you should think about hampers. These hampers can have whatever you like stored within it, from cute little teddy bears and clothes, to luxury baby food that he or she can eat when they get a little bit older. You can also add things that can be kept as keepsakes for the baby, such as little silver money boxes or personalized and engraved items that make perfect gifts to show the little baby when they get a little older.
These hampers can also be perfect for the parents as well as the baby. You can add a bottle of champagne for the parents or flowers for the mother, and if they choose not to drink the champagne and save it for the child when he or she hits the legal age. This is a fantastic idea, and champagne always tastes better when it has matured for a few years!
If the baby has been born around Christmas time, Christmas hampers are a fantastic idea for a gift for both the parents and the child. These Christmas hampers will generally contain nice bottles of alcohol that can be drunk by the parent or again, kept for when the child is old enough, alongside luxury food items and also items associated with Christmas such as mince pies and mulled wine or Christmas puddings. Once the items within the Christmas hampers have been consumed or used, you can always keep the baskets that they were held in for later use of more presents. This is a great way of recycling and doing something for the environment as well as making the receiver of the hampers smile!
If you are planning on buying a gift for new babies and their parents, why not try combining hampers and flowers to make the perfect thoughtful gifts. You should also try and take around teddies and suchlike, but these can be added to the hampers when and if you decide to. Flowers are great for any new mother, and with all of the stresses and strains that accompany having a new born child, any mother needs an excuse to smile every once in a while. Also, hampers are perfect as you can put food items in there that can be consumed when the mother doesn’t have the time or energy to make herself food, and also chocolate, which everyone already knows has feel good factors about it!
