ok i tried to pick like actual characters i like and not just kins LOLLL so i decided to rank them based on how intense my sp/in was! wallace obviously being the first and infinity train second :-D there are some more characters id put up here but image limit U_U. wallace/pokemon being a sp/in for me for a year and a half now and i believe my infinity train sp/in was 10 months? and twilight princess has been around for basically my entire life but its always been an on and off thing

the others would be bee (bapc), vash + wolfwood (trigun), snake + otacon (mgs), mew + pikachu (pokemon), prof sycamore (pokemon), vaati (loz tmc), callie + marie (splatoon). and also every single twilight princess character. and im sure theres more im forgetting… ALSO these arent in any particular order they r kind of all equal to me

now onto your question! that's some good food for thought uhhhh i can try to estimate?? its been a while but i shld have some rough ideas abt each that i can share! the time frame each comic/panel takes is highly dependent on WHAT kind of comic it is. i hv two kinds of comics I usually do: 1) full-length, and 2) goofy/4koma.

i have a few full-length comics laying about in my archive, but my most recent one/best example is Ghosts which was around uh.... 7 pages excluding the bonus panels! in terms of the process, i usually divide it into 5 stages:

Drafting: this is either the fastest stage OR the slowest depending entirely whether i know what im doing LMAO,, if i have a set idea for what i want to happen, i might get drafts done in a few hours, but if i flounder, it can take a few days 🤔

Lineart: relatively simple enough once i hv the draft down, so id say anything ranging from an hour to half a day if theres nothing else going on irl

Block colouring (main actors): there are DEFINITELY easier and more professional ways to do this with mass-selection and the lasso fill/bucket tool, but idk how to do that on SAI (my art program) so i colour everything by hand HAHA which makes the process longer.... half a day to a day?

Shading: THE WORST!!! definintely my least favourite bc i find it tedious due to all the details/prettification of elves that i am legally obliged to pour into this stage 😭😭 as a result, it can take days!!!

Background + Lighting + Final Rendering: similar to the previous stage haha it just depends on how much effort i wanna put into the final product looking nice. roughly a few days? it kind of meshes with stage 4 anyways haha

just for fun, i hope this process gif for page 6 can illustrate that 👇

these are just rough estimates, bc all in all, the time it takes so finish a page is really dependent on how free I am hahaha. Also, I usually work on full-length comics like Ghost which have more than one page all at once, which means I drafted all 7 pages at once, then did the lineart for all 7 pages at once, coloured at once, shaded rendered bla bla bla 😚 iirc, i think it took me 11 days in total to finish Ghosts before the end of June last year!

For goofy/4-koma, its usually just one page with less detailed/more cartoonish/chibi character styles so it takes a day or two days at most! again, it all boils down to how free i am hehe

I got a few story times, buckle in girlies I am gonna start rambling-

4 years ago I went to bali and there was this boy from New Zealand who had little freckles and ginger hair and a cutie pookie face. I met him at the hotel pool where we talked for quite long and then we said goodbyes and he had the prettiest smile ever and I never saw him again cause I left bali the very next day. If u see this I had a small instant crush on you and I still think of you occasionally lolz. (rizzing up a hi heheh)

also as I went to Thailand just a few days ago, I had a tour guide in Pattaya who was literally a kenjiro tsuda (nanami's va) lookalike, idek do you call that falling in love but I was shamelessly watching him drive cause that was attractive WHAT and he was waiting for us, wearing sunglasses and was smoking when we returned from the tour place to go home and I felt the butterflies MY GOD. Then I got to know he has a son and I felt like a homewrecker thank goodness I didn't see him ever again cause I was so ashamed lmaooo.

I am talking so much but this one is spooky special- Just a week or two ago, I had this dream of a zombie apocalypse and it was so scary. usually these movies don't really scare me much but in the dream I was like living through it and it was pretty vivid like blowing up doors to fight zombies, and there were even like sensors that would go off if a zombie was nearby and my sister was there in my dream too and I was saving her from this bloody zombie and then i woke up sweating and it was probably dawn so when I woke up I heard footsteps in the dining room and I froze and got the biggest scare in years. turns out it was my mom who came for a glass of water and prayers. Like girlie you scared the sleep out of me hello? the way i still remember parts of this dream. shit was spooky but it spices my life lmaoo

soo yeah these are at the top of my head i got a fair few but Imma keep it short with these 3 luv yall cant wait to hear from so many of yall too

Tumblr only just showed me that @ksjundel2003 tagged me with this just now, as technology does. I'll always take the chance to ramble (also thank u for the compliment ahhh :D). These ended up being essays hahahaaaha

1. Three Ships: Uhhh so I'm in a weird place where I'm not actively shipping anything. Like don't get me wrong I still love many ships (I'm a super multi shipper, I have no idea how people dedicate their online everything to one ship) I'm just currently not actively pursuing certain ship tags rn... Hmm hxh's return reminded me of how much I love Leopika, I got into fe3h in this last year and I've read a silly amount of dimiclaude. Also finally got around to getting into mp100 and Terumob is so cute.

Genshin thats what people are here for but if I'm honest while I still am very into the game, I haven't read genshin fic consistently for a while and thats how I interact with shipping the most. Like I love Chili, theres a reason I have plans for that ship, but I haven't read a fic with them in forever (and in the more recent examples it was me searching for found fam harb content). I also adore Kaebedo but same story. I love a lot of genshin ships, many 'contradictory' (love Zhongven as well for example), I just haven't been brainrotting about any of them for a while. God that sounds so morose pfft, its really me just letting my brain take a break and experience other things! Also just know I do think about the final planned Zhongli and Childe scene in this fic (well for the main fic at least) every once in a while and grin like a loon. Hehehe I love it so much and rip its so far away (though also once I get there it'll be right near the end and that thought makes me sad).

Also I think about my fic specific ships a lot too. Sandy and Nella for example have a scene that brings me much amusement in a couple chapters (those 2 always bring me joy). Also I've been recently thinking about the ot3 that's a big old spoiler. There's this angsty but also hopeful romantic scene that's been banging around in my head that I literally can't use in my fic it doesn't work with the timeline. But I love it, maybe an eventual bonus chap. (all I'll say on this ot3 is that at least 1 person is a harb). And taras x any harb that isn't his bro, my favorite running gag I take too seriously. Also Madame Volkov x Tsar, I can't wait to reveal why that ship cracks me up (also weirdly angsty).

2. First ever ship: God I don't know. Probably amuto from Shugo Chara (I was elementary/middle school, the age gap did not clock as weird then). However my first ship with taste was Soulsilvershipping from pokemon (god we need to bring back that ship name format, so fun). I didn't have fictional crushes the same way most seemed to, however what was close enough was Silver Pokemon my beloved. He spawned my love of grumpy long haired red heads so when I saw Diluc for the first time I remember going fuck I'm gonna love him (and I did haha).

3. Last song: uhhh fun fact I'm not a music person at all. As a child I hated it pfft, while I grew out of that I still have no idea what I'm doing with it. 90% of the music I listen to is from animatics (and back in the day from amvs) or musicals because plot. And u know u find a lot of musicals because of animatics its a cycle. However saying that I was listening to Ricky Montgomery, idk why.

4. Last movie: my parents were like we're watching a movie as a fam and in true Christmas spirit we watched Top Gun Maverick pfft. tbh the movie was fine but not the stunning piece of cinema everyone seemed to be saying... also super military propaganda but we all knew that

5. Currently reading? I'm catching up on the Ascendance of a Bookworm Light Novels (I'm on the last book in part 4 and I have part 5 #1 ready). I've also been really slowly reading through (and got back into after almost a year accidental break) Lout of the Counts Family. Also hunter x hunter (my brain is filled with Sheila theories, despite being the Harbinger found fam fic writer I don't care about the troop lol, just Sheila). I also have some DC comics open in my tabs because I want to watch the newest comicpop back issues episode. Its sort of strange I've been on a reading fan fic break of sorts haha, reading lots of original stuff.

6. Currently watching? uhhhh Mob Psycho though that just ended. Also me and my sis are watching Miraculous together. We used to watch it years ago and we are watching all the stuff we missed and cringing. I also am constantly watching lots of video essays, love a good video essay to put on while doing other things like playing genshin/art/etc

7. Currently consuming? We have a holiday party every year and my dad makes his amazing to die for lasagna (we are not remotely italian, but everyone we know says its amazing). So I've been eating those leftovers and having a time.

8. Currently craving? validation uhhh free time maybe. I had so much free time while I was away at school (well more like I should have been working on stuff time, but it was time I could organize myself). I'm home and between Christmas and parties and my grandparents/Cousins/feels like everyone visiting I've had no time for myself. I love seeing my cute baby cousins I don't get to see too often but its a lot. Also a job, I don't want to have to job but it'll get my mother off my case.

Well that ended on a too serious note haha. Also this was way too long and I have no idea who to tag and I'm anxious so uh, no one I guess. I must now return to my chaotic life, as one does.

i can say a couple things tho; i have marinated in part 4 kakyoin thoughts since at least april 2020 so i like to think most of it is thought out at this point. so be..prepared......

AS for specific arcs i can talk abt tho. i am so excited to get into yukako's. it's broken into two parts and it's both kak and aya helping her come to terms w what is and isn't a healthy relationship. and it forces kak to reevaluate some of his own relationships....

the final battle w red hot chili pepper. HOHOhoho i have a couple thoughts. i have a handful of thoughts. i cannot get into details but i will say kakyoin and okuyasu epic bonding moments. man I'm gonna weep it's gonna be so awesome if things go according to my little head's plan. i need everyone to love kakyoin and okuyasu's nonexistent relationship like i do

speaking of i have a very fun and cool tonio and kakyoin moment re his addiction. it doesn't line up w any specific diu arc but it will be very sweet

OH ALSO the kakyoin rohan meeting will be so funny. i can see it so plainly in my head. i am so so so excited to get into it HEHEHE

oh oh and also kakyoin koichi and okuyasu have their own off episode during the "let's go hunting" arc which will be very fun. i am excited. rubs hands together like a fly

also kak wont be explicitly in the harvest arc but he IS the one who josuke and okuyasu call post their fight and it'll be very funny

also i cant say it by name...but there is a very "fun" and ~special~ treat coming up...and it's actually what prompted me to write out the fic in the first place...so heads up

and one last thing. an overarching arc i plan on that's called the perspective arc is gonna come into play very soon....and i hope yalls bones break during it . <3

[post] hehehe ur correct, remus did 100% create this problem unecessarily. however from his own pov in that very specific situation it made sense. bc 1) remus has v strong adhd, so he kept forgetting to ask janus about this, and then remembered Suddenly in the scene where the miscommunication happened and was like “well i am going to do this Now while i still have the Thought in my brain.” 2) remus is extreeeemely sensitive to potential dangers in any situation featuring interpersonal dynamics, bc of his backstory that i am not talking about hehe. so, there being another superhero in the room while janus was shapeshifted registered as a Potential Danger to remus. and when he registers potential dangers like that, he is 100% committed to helping with any kinds of deception that could be protecting someone’s personal safety. so, while trying to check if it was janus or not before he forgot again, remus was also working with the assumption that it was possible janus Didn’t want the other superhero in the room to know who they were, and was like “okay, i need to not risk spilling that for them, just in case.”

so the combination of those two things is why he did the flirting thing instead of just asking. in most other situations he would have asked, but he just kept Not Thinking Of It in those other situations. it was essentially bad luck lol.

more clarification about how periods impact shapeshifting powers!! bc i thought abt it more after. so:

shapeshifters cannot stop their period once it has started. they don’t entirely lose their shapeshifting powers, but they do lose some of them. basically, they’re stuck with the same, like, “base” body until the period is over. so they can’t change the height of the body, or the fact that it’s having a period, or its bone structure, or things like its digestive or nervous systems, or things like that—anything the body needs to maintain to run. they can change things like hair, eye color, fat and muscle distribution (to some degree), and so on—anything that’s not integral to the body running. shapeshifting those things is also harder than it would usually be, it takes more concentration and energy. and then once the period is over their powers go back to normal.

for how shapeshifting generally works: the shapeshifter essentially just. imagines the thing they want to shapeshift into. and then they turn into it. they do have to like, make it happen after they imagine the shape they want? like. their brain is making a command for their body to do the thing. kind of like,, intentionally blinking. it feels like that. and then the actual shapeshift happens very fast, like maybe 1-2 seconds for the whole thing. it’s usually pretty easy and doesn’t take much energy, the main exception being if they are shifting to have non-human features (like gills wings etc) or appearances (like making themself be, like, stretched-out-mike-teavee-from-charlie-and-the-chocolate-factory shape). non-human shapeshifts like those do take some extra energy to do, kind of like pushing through a barrier, and the time it takes increases to like 3-5 seconds. also healing by regenerating cells takes more energy and time too. but aside from those cases, and the period case i talked abt in the last paragraph, shapeshifting does not take a noticeable amount of energy. again like blinking. also, shapeshifters can unintentionally shapeshift in their sleep, specifically while they are dreaming. that’s more common for some and less common for others, almost like how sleepwalking is a thing for some people and not for others.

ALSO janus stabbing things is especially funny bc. it doesn’t go with their powers. and it gives them 0 advantage over their nemesis. so there’s literally no reason for them to do it, they just like stabbing things. like, viper (his nemesis) has laser powers. stabbing helps, like, 0% with fighting lasers. janus has like some mirror weapon tool things for when they actually fight viper. and viper now wears protective armor built into her suit’s stomach and chest, and has bracers on her arms. to protect from janus’s illogical stabbing habits. it’s rlly funny.

also, unrelated, but since im talking about viper: she’s a lesbian, and janus is only into men, which both of them are very happy about, because (although janus’s genderfluidity sometimes does make this a tiiiiny bit wobbly, that’s not mostly a problem) it allows them to have all the inherent gay tension of a super nemesis relationship without ever having to worry about actual attraction or feelings getting involved. they’ve literally had whole conversations about this while fighting, and they actually are pretty friendly with each other despite being nemeses. they platonically flirt while trying really hard to beat each other up. they Have given each other relationship advice while fighting before. they have literally so much fun. i love them. im going to see if i can find an excuse to write one of their fights sometimes. it’ll be delightful.

part of the answer to the virgil and janus and patton question is spoilers, but also even aside from that bit. janus is a superhero. janus is very protective of their baby. janus does not want the biggest supervillain in the city to ever ever ever interact with their baby for any reason. that’s all the explanation im sharing for now, but there are more specific reasons too.

not only is the art absolutely gorgeous the manga is so...homely? feel good? like it makes you feel happy just reading it!!

the manga is about a girl named coco who loves magic and one day due to circumstances a man named qifrey adopts her as one of his apprentices!!

i’ve read a lot of manga in my years but witch hat atelier is one of the only mangas i’ve read that appreciates and celebrates children!! never once are children expected to grow up quickly past their years. instead qifrey (the only white haired teacher that matters and the person i gush about) encourages the children to stay children, and tries his best to allow his apprentices to enjoy childhood as much as they can while also helping them grow at the same time. it’s so....wonderful to see a teaching narrative like this. qifrey doesn’t force his knowledge onto the girls. he lets them go at their own pace and never rushes them. even when the girls are stumped and ready to give up, qifrey is always there with encouragement and advice, ready to help them in any way he can!! 

these are my girls!!! i love them so much. my children. qifrey has 4 apprentices and they each have very distinct personalities. while coco (the second girl) is the main character, each girl gets their time to shine. and while we haven’t gotten a focus on tetia (the third girl) yet i’m sure we’ll be getting there!!

another thing I love about this manga is how much this manga treats children like people. never are their ideas discarded. qifrey fosters their ingenuity and encourages the children to think things out instead of relying on solely on him. children are valued and important!! their thoughts and ideas are important!! they’re allowed to make mistakes, because it’s a part of the process of learning!! the manga stresses the autonomy of children too by allowing the children to pick their teachers, and it’s an important societal aspect of the witch world that the apprentice has the freedom to choose.

i rambled and i realize i didn’t really go into plot points but if you read the first chapter it should be clear enough :D

30 DAY (WEEK) OTP CHALLENGE Masterlist

“You can do this!” -silence- “Come on Choi Seungcheol you got this.” -silence- “Fuck, I can’t do this.”

Seungcheol’s been sitting in his car for the last ten minutes, freaking out about tonight’s date. It’s not just any date; it’s their sixth anniversary, and Seungcheol doesn’t want to mess anything up, not when he’s planned everything so perfectly. 

But he can’t get out of the goddamn car. 

He tries to pep talk himself again, hoping this time it’ll actually prompt him to walk up to Jihoon’s door, but jumps when his phone rings. He glances at it, fumbling to answer when he sees that it’s Jeonghan.

“Hel-”

“Get your ass out of the car already or I swear Jihoon is gonna kill you for being late.” 

Seungcheol forces a strangled laugh at Jeonghan’s annoyed tone, already feeling the panic and nervousness set in. His heart races, vision swimming for a bit,  and Seungcheol wonders if this is what a stroke feels like. 

“Okay Seungcheol, you can do this. Everything’s planned. All you need to do is pick up your boyfriend,” he tells himself, glancing out the car, eyes immediately finding the second story window, where his beloved lives.

“I can’t believe you’re talking to yourself like it’s your first date,” Jeonghan snorts, and Seungcheol hears him yelp in pain. “Ignore him, he was exactly the same for our fifth year anniversary. Good luck Cheollie!” 

“Jisoo,” he laughs, nerves already disappearing when he hears his other best friend’s soothing voice. “Tell Jeonghan he’s a fucking ass, and thank you.” He hangs up on his best friends before he gets out of his car, locking it decisively behind him.

Jihoon smirks to himself when he hears the knock on the door, but his smartass remark dies in his throat when he opens the door.

Holy fuck. 

Seungcheol doesn’t tend to dress up, (neither does Jihoon, but that’s not the point), but tonight he’s in a smart, ironed shirt, with a black blazer and dark washed jeans. Jihoon’s pretty sure his brain is 99% mush right now, and he seriously considers cancelling all their plans so Seungcheol can just come in and fuck him senseless.

“Hi Jihoonie,” he beams down at the frozen younger, kissing him lightly. “Sorry I’m late,” he apologizes, and Jihoon chokes out some semblance of “It’s okay” before he’s being whisked away for their anniversary date. 

“Where are we going? All I got from you was to dress warm,” Jihoon grumbles, looking down at his oversized sweater and dark ripped jeans. “Is this okay…?” he tugs at his sleeve, and Seungcheol gives him a once over, nodding and lacing their fingers together. 

“Jihoonie, you always look perfect,” he murmurs softly, thumb stroking Jihoon’s soft, milky skin. “And it’s a surprise,” he grins excitedly, tossing Jihoon a blindfold. “No peeking!” 

The drive isn’t particularly long, but Jihoon’s dying from curiosity, barely stopping himself from asking “are we there yet?” every two minutes.

“I hate surprises,” he mutters, fingers itching to rip off the damn blindfold. The road winds and winds (and winds some more), and Jihoon is nervous but excited at the same time. “You’re not taking me to some hill to kill me, are you?” he tries to joke, although it comes out more serious than he expected.

“Jihoonie, I’d rather drive myself off a cliff than hurt you,” Seungcheol murmurs softly, large hand enveloping Jihoon’s much smaller one. “I love you,” Seungcheol purrs, and Jihoon can’t hide the soft smile growing on his face. 

“Shut up,” he huffs, ears tipped a bright red, sitting upright when he feels the car slow to a stop. “We’re here?” he asks excitedly. Seungcheol just chuckles and gets out of the car, quickly rounding it to help his (tiny) boyfriend out. 

“Hyung, can I take this stupid thing off yet,” Jihoon grumbles, lips pouting naturally. Seungcheol’s heart nearly explodes with affection at how cute Jihoon is, deciding to finally put the younger out of his misery.

Seungcheol’s heart races as he watches Jihoon take everything in, from the fairy lights hung on the low branches of the trees, to the picnic set up all pretty for the both of them, to the stunning backdrop of Seoul’s night lights, glittering and sparkling against the dark, murky sky. 

“... Wow,” Jihoon breathes, throat tight with emotion. He glances around, feeling the cool night breeze against his flushed face. 

“Seungcheol- this… this-” he chokes, turning to his boyfriend, who’s staring at Jihoon like he hung the moon and the stars. He holds him tightly, face firmly buried into his chest, praying Seungcheol can’t feel the heat of his neck and face through the material of his sweater. 

“Thank you, I love you,” Jihoon whispers, and Seungcheol melts, strong arms wrapping around his boyfriend’s shoulders. 

Seungcheol loves that about him, that Jihoon, usually so brusque and cold, has this soft, caring, vulnerable side of him, and he loves it even more that he’s lucky enough to see it. He guides Jihoon to the picnic mat, and they settle quickly, pulling out coke and orange juice (because he’d very much like his boyfriend sober tonight, thank you very much), and offering them to Jihoon. The younger snorts, rolling his eyes as he accepts the bottle of juice, pressing it to his neck in an effort to return to a normal colour.

Seungcheol chuckles, and Jihoon swipes at him, grumbling about how his boyfriend’s so stupid to do something so grossly sweet for their anniversary, but there’s an unmistakable grin on the younger’s face that betrays him. Jihoon turns away, peeking into the picnic basket to escape Seungcheol’s knowing gaze, letting out a soft gasp  when he sees jajangmyeon and spicy ramyun in a bowl.

“You remembered,” he looks up at Seungcheol, who just rolls his eyes good-naturedly, pulling his boyfriend close.

“Of course I did babe, how could I forget such a weird combination?” Seungcheol teases, kissing the top of Jihoon’s fluffy head. “Hand me the chicken would you?” he murmurs.

Jihoon flails for a second, trying to feel out the warm takeout box he saw earlier, and hands it to Seungcheol, who mumbles his thanks, letting go of Jihoon so they can eat. Jihoon mixes his noodles leisurely, watching as his heathen of a boyfriend practically inhales the entire thing (he’s half sure Seungcheol might try to eat the box too). Jihoon chortles when his boyfriend looks up at him and grins, mouth (and somehow his cheek and nose) covered in the sticky garlic soy sauce. 

“You-uh- missed,” Jihoon snorts, motioning to Seungcheol’s...entire face.

Seungcheol just smacks his lips, and smirks at Jihoon, who grimaces and throws the pack of wipes at his boyfriend, grumbling that his boyfriend is a fucking child, and not a responsible, twenty-five year-old adult. 

Jihoon sighs, setting the now-empty bowl of noodles, and leans against Seungcheol’s broad shoulder, admiring the view (-coughs- of his boyfriend -coughs-) when suddenly he feels a drop on his head. He looks up, frowning in confusion, flinching when another drop hits his face.

And another. 

And another. 

And another.

He glares at the sky, daring it to rain on them, but it only seems to make it worse. The rain picks up, going from a light drizzle to sleets of rain before either one of them can react. Seungcheol curses, grabs Jihoon and the basket of food, and sprints to his Jeep. 

“Fuck, I’m so sorry Jihoon, I totally didn’t check the weather,” Seungcheol apologizes mournfully, grabbing a towel (Jihoon doesn’t know, or want to know why it’s there) to dry his drenched boyfriend off. “I was so caught up about planning the perfect date for their anniversary, and now I’ve completely stuffed it up, and god, I still had another surpr –”

Jihoon presses his lips to Seungcheol’s, effectively cutting off his panicked rambling. “I’m not mad,” he offers quietly when they pull away. “It was too cold out there anyway,” he smiles shyly at Seungcheol, and his boyfriend melts, heart full to bursting.

“I know, but now I don’t have space to do this properly,” he sighs, digging into his jacket pocket, and Jihoon’s heart nearly stops. 

He can’t be– He wouldn’t– Oh my god he is. 

Seungcheol is so nervous he’s sure Jihoon can hear his heartbeat. He takes a shaky breath, pulling the small waterlogged box from his pocket. 

“I know this isn’t ideal, and I’m really sorry. I’d planned this all romantic, and it was gonna be perfect but the weather had to –”

“Is that a ring?” Jihoon blurts, eyes trained on the box, posture stiff and mouth dropped open in shock.

“Y-yeah, it is,” Seungcheol breathes, stomach churning as he watches Jihoon. “It’s-It’s yours, if you’ll have me,” Seungcheol whispers, opening the box to reveal a silver ring, winking at Jihoon invitingly. 

Jihoon’s silent, and Seungcheol’s heart immediately fills with dread. “You don’t have to agree, maybe it’s too early, and I don’t want to pressu–” 

“Yes, you big idiot, yes,” Jihoon laughs, hands cupping Seungcheol’s face as he peppers kisses on his boyfrie– no, his fiancé’s, face. “I love you Choi Seungcheol, and I’d love to marry you,” he breathes against the elder’s plump lips, and Seungcheol grins, practically dizzy with happiness. 

“Good.”

Chapter 4: The kindness of a stranger knows no bounds

     After that thought crossed my mind I raced back to the door.

“Hey, old tucan!  Can’t you take a joke?!  I at least gave you some good breakfast and a free face paint!  Just let me back in already!”  After my knocking the old caretaker stuck her head out of the door at a rapid pace as her nose I mean beak nearly took out my eye, as her face showed an expression of complete rage and annoyance.  Ah, isn’t my work beautiful? 

“You. Dare. Ask. Me, to let you back in after what you’ve done?!  No way in hell!  Leave me forever!”

“Hold on before you close the door let me tell you one more thing”

“WHAT?!”  

“Honk! Honk!”  I said squeezing her new red nose as she slammed the door with all of her might, nearly knocking the screws loose.

I began dusting myself off as I thought, ‘Don’t know why she’s so mad, its improvement if I ever saw it’

“Welp, I might as well see if the Payne’s are open, they might allow me to stay for a few days.  Unbeknownst to the boy, there are two figures watching his walk.  A girl and a dark figure who is churning in the shadows ready to erupt.

As I walked through the streets I listened to the sounds of the city, the distant music, the early morning chatterings, every sound filled me with the sense of home and comforted me but still, I couldn’t calm fully as something was in the back of my head.  Forever out of the reach of my current knowledge.  Thes thoughts continued until I felt a chill from the fall air, filling my mind with memories of how I met the Paynes as I began to chuckle on the past memory.  In New Orleans, this was one of the worst winters we’ve ever seen in a long time as it even began to snow, but my stupid 9-year-old self, decided to run away from the orphanage as I felt the cold air rip through my tattered clothes and bare feet.  Chilling me to my bones as I felt like death, which I was way to close to for comfort at that time.  As I began to freeze before collapsing in the snow as I slowly began to get covered by the snow.  Through my flashes of consciousness, I saw a light as I saw a woman whos lips read.

“A boy?”  With that final image, my body finally collapsed into a heap.  After what was most likely hours, I felt something completely alien to me at that time, warmth.  As it jolted me away from fear and shock as my head whirled from side to side nearly knocking myself out again as the room began to spin as I asked.

“Wh-what? Where?!”  My head continued turning as my vision began to clear as I noticed I was swaddled in an actual blanket as before I could question it, a gruff, grizzly voice spoke interrupting my thoughts.

“Oh, you’re awake, thank God.  Here you go kid, this should warm ya up a little bit”  He said noticing my shivers as he handed me a mug of cocoa and a plate of food, each prime and hot as I felt my mouth water from the smell as I looked up at the man to thank him.  His face was pudgy with a thick black beard with black hair that was covered in a chefs hat with a long-sleeved green shirt with an apron covering his pop belly and jeans.

“T-t-thank y-you”  He nodded as he motioned me to eat with care evident within his eyes.  I began to eat as I almost inhaled the food as I slowly drunk the coco due to me not wanting to burn my mouth.

“I was about to ask if you were alright, but seeing you eat like that it seems you are.  Heheh, you nearly gave my wife a heart attack.  It’s good to see you are doing fine.  I’m sure she’ll be glad as well.  You’re a strong kid you know that she brought you in here nearly frozen to death, but I’ve rambled on long enough, what’s your name son?”  I flinched at his use of the word son but luckily it seemed more like a jerk from the cold.

“I-I’m Thomas sir”

“Thomas huh, nice name.  I’m Jack Payne, My wife is Mattie, and speak of the devil, here comes your hero” Jack’s face lit up as a woman came from upstairs.  Her hair was brown and styled in a ponytail, her skin was fair with a pair of red rosy cheeks as she wore a navy blue shirt with khaki pants.

“Oh, thank goodness you’re awake!  I’m glad you are alright”

“I-I should th-thank you, you helped me after.  Thank you miss”

“Oh child, its no trouble umm-”

“It’s Thomas miss”

“Thank you, Thomas, You should get your rest”

“O-oh no I wouldn’t want to burden you both more than I have already”  I tried to ease out of the blanket but I felt a warm hand on my shoulder easing me.

“Nonsense Thomas, we would be happy to take you in for the night”  My face instantly lit up as I felt overjoyed that my frozen tears began to melt from happiness as I felt a few run down my face.

“Grazie!”  When I spoke Italian the woman's face became confused and shocked.

“Excuse me?”

“Oh, its thank you in Italian”

“Oh, well then up to bed mister”

“But I ain't tired yet,”  Jack said causing Mattie to chuckle as she playfully hit him.

“heheh, not you, you old fool, Thomas!”

“Ha, right come on now my boy”  He waked up to me and held out his hand as I grasped it hesitantly as he led me towards a bed, as I got underneath the covers and a mattress as so many foreign feeling echoed throughout my body at once.  Comfort, peace, soft mattress, and pillows and well you get the point.  And as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.  Downstairs Mattie was pacing back and forth as Jack watched her in bewilderment and amusement.

M-Mattie what’s wrong?  You’ve been doing this for nearly ten minutes”  he said trying to suppress a chuckle.

“Doesn’t Thomas look familiar to you?”

“No of course not, we just saw the child today”

“But doesn’t he look just like...Eliza, and that man”

“You’re overthinking this Mattie”

“He even spoke Italian to me, he even has the same curly hair!”  Jack got up and rested his hands on Mattie’s shoulders trying to calm her down.

“Listen, listen, it won't do you any good to just run yourself ragged.  We can ask him tomorrow, when we’ve all, had our rest, alright?”

She sighed knowing her husband was right in this argument.

“Huff, fine let’s go to sleep dear”

On the next day, I woke up frantic and scared as I looked at my surroundings as fast as I could. Which again, caused the room to spin. I need to work on not doing that at some point because I'm tired of looking at everything like I just went through a spin cycle.   As I sat in silence of the bed room and waited for my eyes to get back to normal. My mind started to wander about a lotta things. The orphanage, the family, that memory from last night. All of it raged in my head like a storm. I was so caught up in my own memories that a knock at the door nearly made me jump out of my skin as the wife spoke through it.

“Hello, Thomas we’re  coming breakfast but first we need to get you a bath”

“But, I don’t have any other clothes.”

“That ain't a problem, we bought you some”

“oh, you didn’t have to.”

“No, but we did but we wanted to some come on, chop chop, let's get you out of those raggedy clothes!”

“U-um, yes mam”  I stuttered as I lifted up my shirt as she saw my back.  ‘He’s awfully skinny, I can even see his bones easily.  As the woman began to continue looking over Thomas she began to ask him something until a sight forced her to quiet.

“Hey, Thomas, where are you fro-”  her face showed pure shock an horror as her hands covered her mouth.  She saw all of my back every scar, some were still fresh and some were scab covered while some were really ancient.  But no matter how you look at it, that sight was not pretty at all.

“Hm?  What is i-”  Before I finished I knew immediately why she was so quiet.

“T-Thomas, what are those scars?”  She asked shakily as I winced, still feeling each blow to this day as those memories swept throughout my mind.

“T-The’re nothi-”

“Child don’t you lie to me!”  With her words my feet became really interesting at the moment as I couldn’t tear my eyes away from them until she crouched to my level and stared me right in the eyes, pleading for me to tell her.  After minutes of silence, I relented and told her everything, about the punishments-”cough, cough” torture “cough, cough”  After hearing everything she could not speak for minutes as a hush fell over her.

“H...how long has this been happening”

“For at least a few years, I get the most due to me rebelling more”Her eyes had tears clearly present as she hugged me causing me to flinch

“Is there any way I can help you all?  I know I’ll call the police!”  she went over to the phone but I gripped her wrist stopping her.

“N-no, please don't”

“What?  What do you mean?!  You’re all going through abuse!  Why stop me?” 

“Because so many of us will be taken from each other!  We all are the only family we have left!  Just please don’t”  My voice quieted from begging as I felt tears approaching my face threatening to fall.

“T-Thomas, just, fine, fine I won’t call them.  But explain your physical state!  You are literal skin and bones why?”

“Well, we don’t have much food...well edible food anyway”

“That’s awful”  Her face slowly switched from one of pity to that of determination.  “You know what?  I have an idea.  What if I help you all.  Even if its small, its at least better than nothing.  Alright how about this,  I’ll send everyone fresh meals each day and on top of that, I’ll donate clean clothes if I have the money or resources.  So how does that sound?”  The tears flowed from my face, not from sadness but from happiness as I tacked hugged her thanking her profusely

“Grazie!  Grazie!” I cried

“You’re welcome, no go on and take your bath, you’ll be back tomorrow and this time with help”

“Yes, ma’am!”  I said energetically as I walked off as she had one thought in the back of her head

1. When and how did you get into j-rock?

jokesss it was animu as usual ahahahaa I was already listening to J-pop at the time like Arashi and Yuki Kajiura I also liked Perfume by that point too, around.. 2012..? somewhere around there ;w; I was 13 years old.

I actually can't remember who my first J-rock band I ever heard was ;;u ; I listened to a lot of anime intros and found a couple of artists from there....   the first J-rock song I ever heard was probably SID's Monochrome no Kissu huhuhu but I didn't actually listen to SID after that.....  ting is is that I was painfully weeby at the time, the typically cringey child that would more listen to ... random american pop songs that I found on amvs, and all the classics like cascada's everytime we touch and the 'numa numa song' ,,...... //////v/// and I listened to a LOT of Vocaloid, all of it, I was obcessed, it’s literally all I would listen to for a year or so ﾉω`*)ﾉ  I also found a finnish rock band called Indica through an amv and even bought one of their albums ;u; my music taste was a crazy mix of stuff I'd just found on Youtube really... I loved The Midnight Beast (reppin from uk) and I still do, Lemon Demon too.... and I downloaded official soundtracks from anime like Pandora Hearts and D.Gray Man and listened to those as well. I was also a big fan of Yugioh the abridged series and would listen to yugioh song parodies LittleKuriboh made ;; u ;

Only a small part of my music library was J-rock and J-pop at the time... but I think the first band that caught my attention was Buck-Tick, after I watched the anime xxxHolic somewhere in 2012. Then after watching Shiki a little later I recognised the same voice and looked kuchizuke up and was jammin, and for some reason I watched an interview with Aachan before getting distracted by that one video that everyone has seen of T.M singing dress with him, and listening to ABS instead because I knew them from the theme song to D.Gray man ///u// it was only until summer 2013 until I really found out who Buck-Tick actually was, I listened to as many singles as I could find and I fell in love with them in less than 24 hours hehe ´｡• ᵕ •｡` I actually didn't like rock music at all before then, b-t were the group that introduced me to being a rock music fan even though I still didn't like heavier sounds, like Gazette that my friend was into. Sometime later that year I listened to L'arc en Ciel for the first time too, I think I read about them in a magazine or something.. I can't remember //w// ((I bought the 'stay away' single at may mcm in 2014, my first J-rock cd :3c)) I still listened to a lot of J-pop during 2013 and Arashi had begun to dominate my life, so I didn't really get properly into J-rock and visual kei until early 2014 when I started listening to ancafe, because I'd heard of them from cosplayers on deviantart who had them in their ID section under music interests, and then subsequently finding out they were touring in europe :3c I was more partial to oshare and lighter pop-punk things around that time.. early days was LM.C and Alice Nine and Royz after that....

Kind of a long and patchy story (wow it’s really long why did I write so much I’m so sorry it’s so boring) but there isn't necessarily an exact moment I started listening to J-rock... only in the last year or so have I let Vkei fully consume my life so... back then it was only a side interest for me among all the other things ˊ꒳ˋ  from 2014 onwards I just found more and more bands as well as listening to a lot of johnny's and J-pop stuffs... >w> and the rest is historyyyy

2. List your current most favorite band(s).

bakuchikuuuuu forever and ever every moment of my waking life alwaysss till I dieeee //w/// and Dog in the PWO >:3 two very contrasting groups to say the leest but I have a wide breadth of faves hehe ;;w; I fell in love with Doggu super quickly and have been following them ever since, I've known them for a year now and they are 100% in my top 5 favourite bands ever ;u ; dems are my two main faves as it is right now but there are too many others to list that I have a lot of feelings for /;;w;//

Currently I also like listening to Hakujitsu no Yume... Pentagon are my children.... Piglow in Gloomy are really amazing also ;w;;

3. How many j-rock concerts have you been to? (If you haven’t been to any, which band would you like to see the most in the future?)

not many becos I am a baby and I have never travelled out of my home country to raibus ;;v; my first ever was Ancafe in 2014, when I was a weeby mess, and most recently Versailles in January 2017 :3c inbetween I’ve seen VAMPS (and alexandros) at a shared live @ ‘Japan Night’ which was a lil concert organised by HyperJapan, a convention here in uk ..can I count bands that I’ve seen at Hyper too..? ;;w; I’ll just count Vaniru because they were aight while Yuto and Leoniel lasted as a couple heheh >w>> and I also went to SuG’s raibu in 2015~

so that makes 6 i guess.. I am a bebe ;;

there are so so so many bands I wanna see live, and I would go to a couple more lives in London here and there but I always get attached to groups that are very Japan-based and that are very unlikely to make any overseas appearances ;v; and I don’t wanna spend a lot of monies on bands that I don’t know as well that occasionally visit //3///

4. Which j-rock band do you think is the most underrated?

Daizystripper o´ω｀o   They used to be a more popular with western peeps but I think a lot of people stopped listening to them a while ago an might not even realise that they're still active and tings ;; v; their debut with Victor might make it a little difficult for international fans though eheh but I wish they still had the support they seemed to have~ so many good jams ;  u ;

And everyone from Planet Child Music records needs more recognition and to be invited to more events ///u//

5. Which j-rock band do you think is the most overrated?

If I had to I'd say Vamps hhhhuu I thought that they were v good up until recently ;;w; I dunno I feel like the couple of newer songs have lost their power and originality... and no matter what I'll always think L'arc are infinitely better but some people think not //vv/// Vamps are always over here and in other countries too, whereas L'arc I feel are neglected a lot with world tours and overseas promotion and stuff when they deserve more love than vamps ;3; I mean.. 25 years going strong //u/ why dis Hyde come back to uk without vamps this time hhhh

6. Who is your ultimate bias in j-rock? Optionally: Post your most favorite picture(s) of them.

7. What is your most treasured j-rock related memory?

Um.. not that much has happened to me personally that I can really mention hehe >w>

Hizaki calling me cute at Hyper's meet & greet last year was probably the best thing that's acc happened to me ;;;;w;;;;;; It was the end of the day and I looked like a wreck, Hizaki saw me as I came up for cheki and said 'kawaii~' ////w// best memory heckk I mean Hizaki---- being called cute by Hizaki ;;;;;u; why dis I do not deserve (and obvs taking cheki with him was part of that good memory too >w>)

An Cafe was my first live, and I'll always remember that my one of my favourite singles is 'My heart leaps for 'C'' and when they played it after the encore I went insane hehe ;;; u ; that was a treasured moment for me because it was kind of surreal like 'oh wow a band that I love is playing one of my favourite songs is this real??' and ... since I was an hyperactive 15 year-old that moment just made me really excited ;v; I was singing along (horribly) to every lyric and bouncing up and down like crazy and I would not let that feeling go for a while //w/ ah to be young again ~~

But SuG is probably the best raibu memory ever ever. they played a very very small venue in London and it was literally the most intimate thing imaginable, you could touch everyone and Takecchi almost hit his head a few times on the lights above him ;;u; and even though I was in like, three rows of people away from the front, Chiyu's hand grazed mine for a second and that was the most special moment ;;w; Shinpei leaned into the audience for a group hug and Yuji and Chiyu were high-fiving and ruffling people's hair ///;w;/ it was such a long farewell with everyone touching hands and patting heads and it felt so nice and close, I thought we were really lucky to get such an intimate show ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄  

8. How do you support and enjoy j-rock the most? Buying CDs? Going to lives? Just full on going to Japan for it?

I buy Cd's if I can for bando that I really love and want to support, and at lives I buy at least one peice of merch every time too :3c and I'm trying to get into a habit of buying Cure if bands I like are featured >u> I accidentally end up following e v e r y o n e on twitter and just scroll thru liking posts if that counts as 'support' ? :'3

9. How does your family feel about this hobby of yours?  

My parents don't really mind, I end up showing my mama photos and videos and she understands my hype at everyone I think hehe, and I play cd's often so my parents hear J-rock a lot but don't complain~ we all have our own music collections now it’s so cute 〃▽〃 I talk about J-rock a lot like, I just ramble on mostly to myself because I have no-one else to talk to in the house so ;;u; my parents don't really listen that closely but ye, they don't mind and they're glad I'm into something different I guess :'3c

10.What is the craziest j-rock fandom story that you have?

idk what j-rock 'fandom' story means exactly,,, like, you heard the story from the fandom or the story is about the actual fandom itself..? ;;w; well actually I guess this is both haha this is the only story that I have worth telling and I only heard it a couple weeks ago but ;//u.//

A friend of a friend has connections with Mejibray’s MiA, and he messages her and lots of other peeps I’d imagine as MiA prob does~ and on one occasion MiA was sent a cute little (I say little but) Intimate Image that the 1 and only Yohio took of his peen and decided to share it around so other people could enjoy it obvs >>>ww.>> and he sent it to said friend, nice one >;3ccc thank u for showing me too I feel very privileged, too many bants I was dying ahh ..//www//// why dis MiA why dis......... poor Yohio ;; v; u don’t need to send dick pics to impress your senpai, kids ;;  /////; poor little child ;u;;

ahhhh i'm not so sure if i could be as good at ballet or figure skating as i used to be,, since it was so many years ago!! there's a lot of pressure since i used to be my ballet company's star dancer 🌸 i started ballet when i was 6 and figure skating when i was 8,, but both were cut short sadly, ballet due to a health emergency and figure skating due to a freak accident that occurred outside of skating,, (4/9)

he lost his job due to the pandemic, and we've been struggling for months with financial issues, so we're all very happy to have some stability again!! ✨ we went to a tavern and had a grand time, the food was nice but seeing my brother was even better! they had this amazing cherry cheesecake that i split with my sister, and the waitresses were so very kind; they kept complimenting me and my outfit,, oh my stars, it felt nice to finally be relieved of some of the stress!! 💗 (7/9)

and tonight, a friend challenged me to a game poker out of nowhere,, i have no idea why or what we're wagering, but he's going out of his way to buy and entire poker set for it??? an expensive one too, i am completely confused by it all 😅 i'll need to brush up on my skills before hand, seeing as i haven't played in months, but i'm sure i'll be fine hehehe!
