the two of you stay like that for a while — your hands intertwining and untangling and twining together as it takes time for the pieces to fall naturally into place again, after so long.

“i wish you didn’t have to go again, xiao.” your face contorts to a tired, longing smile; when would you see him again?

“when you next call me,” xiao seems to have read your mind. “i will be here. like i said, my will to be in your arms will undoubtedly always be stronger than my will to fight for liyue.”

plot: with a job at the local convenience store barely paying him enough to keep his shabby apartment, living off of scraps and that which he could steal while working, sonny has decided to start stealing from the rich folks who live in the well off part of the city. on his first attempt, your muse discovers him in their bedroom after he broke in, thinking they were away on vacation.

"s-sorry, i-i didn't- i thought you were-" he might've been a pretty crappy criminal, but sonny wasn't a total moron. he's miscalculated, made an assumption about what time they'd been home from their vacation and been terribly inaccurate, those were mistakes he couldn't change and could learn from in the future but in that moment, he knew that playing the snivelling, pathetic loser would buy him more sympathy points than if he let his frustration at the situation show. "i-i haven't taken anything- i swear" a fancy watch had been shoved into his bag mere seconds before he heard their bedroom door open, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. a rich asshole like them could buy more watches, while for him he could pawn the fucker and hopefully get enough for groceries for the week. "p-please. i-i was just l-looking. i've n-never been in a house this n-nice before."

instead of supporting disney's latest cash grab can i suggest watching The 7D instead? it's a spinoff series that came out 9 years ago that disney cancelled prematurely during season 2. it's hilarious and well animated and some of the writers worked on Animaniacs so that's how you KNOW its good.
