I have so many headcannons- so here's another one:

Jason is definitely someone who has gone through many phases, one of which was a goth phase. He truly believed he would be goth forever and committed to the whole schtick.

For about a year he strictly listened to "goth bands", wore gothic makeup, thrifted and DIYed his clothes, etc.

Dick comes back to visit the manor for the first time since this phase started and is confused.

Jason, nodding his head along to The Cure on the radio. His face is covered in white powder and black eyeshadow/lipstick, and is wearing black dress pants and a poofy white shirt:

Dick: "..Uhh, hey Jay."

Jason, not even looking at him: "Sup."

Dick: "So, like, when did you become emo-"

Jason, rising with the fury of the seven suns: "I AM NOT EMO!"

Dick: ..

Jason, turning to Bruce, who has been sat in the corner the whole time: "THE WORLD IS SO FUCKED UP, DAD!"

Bruce: "You're very correct. No one understands."

Jason: "NO ONE UNDERSTANDS!" *Storms off to his room*

Dick: "What the fuck?"

Many years later, Tim is having a similar phase. Dick notes that he's wearing lots of black clothes and eyeliner, and he remembers that he's seen this before.

Dick looks into Tim's bedroom to find him in his bed listening to MCR:

Dick: "Hey Tim"

Tim: *Sighs* Hey.."

Dick, trying to connect with his younger brother: "So, you're goth, right?"

Tim, bursting into tears: "FUCK YOU, DICK!"

Jason peeks his head around the corner: ..

Tim: "NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME!"

Jason, turning to Dick: "Fuck you! You never learned the difference!" *Stomps away*

Dick: "I hate my family."

A helpful guide to Gargoyles, Grotesques, and other statues

Gargoyles serve the same function as a modern day roof drain or gutter. Originally built to reduce erosion from storms, they became much less popular in the early 18th century. Must be built into the building high on the wall and have spout capabilities.

Grotesques are purely aesthetic and are the Gargoyles less functional but cooler cousin. They were believed to ward off evil spirits, so they were most popular on churches or other religious buildings. These must also be built high on walls and were usually hidden for the casual viewer's pleasure. The reason grotesques were believed to ward off evil is the hideous mixure of human and animal features, much like how halloween started.

Neither of these fixtures can be gifted or sit at ground level. If they do, they are neither a Gargoyle nor a grotesque, but instead a regular statue.

As far as my knowledge goes, Europeans in the 14th to 18th century never actually used grotesque-style or other statues to protect their gates. The closest I could find were The Lion Gatekeeper statues, popular in Egypt, Greece, and Mesopotamia.

This kind of thing:

NEVER EXISTED. The idea of the modern-day "gargoyle" wasn't popular until Disney's 1994 cartoon, "Gargoyles". If you ever write about Gargoyles, they were NEVER ground-level decoration.

To summarize: Gargoyles were a wall figure designed to drain water. Grotesques were a wall fixture meant for aesthetics and to ward off evil. Anything else is a statue. Do not get them mixed up.

There is a difference between being doomed by fate and being doomed by the narrative. Being doomed by fate means that at any point, if you made a different decision, they could have survived. It's only due to that specific set of events that they ended up dying. If you had chosen to go left instead of right or chosen red instead of blue, or really just made the slightest change in your decisions, they could have survived. But fate is cruel.

Being doomed by the narrative means there was no way for them to survive. It doesn't matter what choice you make. They will die, no matter what. You can go left or right. You can choose red or blue or you can even choose both. But it is useless because they will still die in the end, you can not save them.

DESCRIMINATE FANON FROM CANON

You know what I'm tired of? People thinking that something that's fanon is also canon. Like, yeah, okay, I get it you have a little different perception of a character, but that doesn't make that automatically canon.

Like let's take an example, right? Stephanie Brown and Jason Todd. Stephanie isn't always a soft girly silly blonde. Alright? She's not a quirky pick me. And OH. MY. GOD. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON JASON. Like, no honey, he's not a bad boy, or a player that sleeps around with the first woman he sees. He's actually a nerd. Yeah, you read that right. He's. A. NERD. Reads books and comics and cooks because he wants to relieve his stress! GET. THAT. RIGHT.

Also, there are other characters that are misjudged, but those two just came first to mind. Anyway, that's for reading! <3
