Hey y'all! I have a question that (judging by how my mom reacted when I asked) is going to sound like a joke, but I am genuinely asking because I really don't know what's funny about it and I would like to So the other day at work a contractor called me, asked one question I could (and did) answer, and then spent 10 minutes complaining about his phone, insisting it was a problem on our company's end. The problem is his phone not dinging to alert him when he gets emails from us, and after I gently tried explaining a couple times that the issue is on his end, not mine, he just kept getting angrier and insisting that is was not on his end. I finally said "I'm sorry, I can't fix that. Is there anything else I can help you with?" He said, angrily "Well there's no need to be sassy about it" and hung up on me And like, I get that it's funny he hung up on me after calling me sassy of all things (far from the worst thing I've been called at work) but both my boss and my mom separately seem to think my response is funny??? I thought I was just being professional! Am I missing something?

Though as I mentioned on my Ominous October post, for events that include multiple short stories, I encourage everyone to flex their creativity and take one of their planned short story fanfics, and at least *attempt* to turn one of them into something entirely original; rebuilding a character and story from the ground up to stand on its own two legs is no easy feat, and that is what makes it so fun!

It really gets your creative gears turning, to make an "au of an existing material" to be something entirely original, and you can be pleasantly surprised about the things you come up with!

As a few people say, its not just a matter of "filing the serial numbers off" -- you have to add in just as much *or more* as what you take out when you are turning a fanfiction into something that is original and completely divorced from its original source material / inspiration, and that is a hard, but very rewarding challenge!

Obviously, this is not a requirement (there's no hard requirements for any of the challenges, other than no cheating, including no using AI),

but if you would like an extra challenge for the short story events and you're planning on doing entirely fan-fiction, I highly recommend trying it out at least once, and seeing where it leads you--

you may find yourself pleasantly surprised by what you find down that rabbit hole!

a lot of people seem to use Entry #61 as 'proof' for the crux of the "Brian didn't care about Tim, he was Taking Advantage of Tim's conditions and Forcing him to work as part of totheark" thing, but honestly when you think about it there's no possible way Brian could have possibly orchestrated that series of events, like you almost have to interpret that as a baffling group of coincidences

ASS is the perfect way to describe P-ranking God Damn the Sun. I did everything fucking right except I fumbled with the rocket freeze when trying to ride into the left side of the building and I missed with the hookshot a few times when getting one of the skulls onto its pedestal. This shit is actually more difficult than Minos Prime. I really, really hope that this level in particular is just a pain in the ass (pun intended) and not indicative of what P-ranking levels is gonna be like from here on out.

it’s running concurrent to my headcanon that. well. the universe is so lacking in constants for the doctor, and if it’s after he’s experienced the loss of a companion, he’s not going to go have tea with someone else he once travelled with and had to leave behind.

it just makes sense to me, that he’d go seek out the master. especially if he’s barely restraining himself from making bad choices about breaking fixed points in time and causing paradoxes. and he’s right there, playing harold saxon for the world to see, and he’s right. there. the doctor can just go and see him whenever he wants.

I genuinely think that today was my last time watching.

What was that strategy Mercedes. Genuinely robbed a podium chance. They cannot keep playing the strategy as if they are the fastest car anymore they are 3rd or 4th at best. They need vast improvement in the pit stops and communicating to their drivers.

I don’t think it was entirely Mercedes fault, but, as it seems they gave their drivers the wrong information about how long the rain was likely to last, they have to shoulder a lot of the blame. Idk, I feel like other teams have started looking upwards over much less egregious bouts of form. Binotto was ousted after a much less disappointing change of form, and I do think there comes a point where questions have to be asked of Toto. Two years of bad cars and bad strategies, with the drivers often proving the saving grace and carrying them through, he may be a shareholder but the ship is floundering with him at the helm and there has to come a point where he takes some accountability for that which I honestly don’t feel he does.

     The bitter cold bites insistently at the exposed skin of her face and neck. It’s the only thing keeping her anchored to the here and now. The cold brick of the building’s doorstep is no better, seeping its iciness through flesh and bone where she sits — has been sitting for god knows how long. She hasn’t thought to keep track of the time, or dared to take out her phone and call. Any time she sees her own hands she can only whimper and ask herself where all the blood has gone. Her hands had been covered, clothes stained, but now there’s nothing left but vivid flashes and the memory of its warmth.

     She should go home, or at least inside. There’s only a faint sliver of hope that’s keeping her nailed to the ground, sat on the edge of the steps with her knees drawn up to her chest and her cheeks salted with dried tears. They don’t have an appointment today, but it must be around that time when they would normally meet, so on the off chance that he will show up to meet with someone else, she waits.

     Ebony is so focused on not thinking about it, on blocking out every flash of red in her mind, that she doesn’t notice there’s someone in front of her until something touches her shoulder. She lifts her head to uncurl herself and looks up to find the only person she would ever think to go to.

     “Doc. . .” Her voice breaks pathetically as her hands latch onto his coat’s sleeves. It’s hard to tell whether she’s trying to pull herself up or pull him down, but either way she doesn’t let up until she’s close enough to bury her face against his chest and her fingers are curled so tight they threaten to tear the fabric apart. “Something happened — I don’t. . . I-I don’t know what happened!”

1. found out from castiel (who was desperately searching for an alternate plan) that jack is turning himself into a bomb to kill god

2. hid this from sam, eventually told him, acted like sam was unreasonable for being furious (at this being kept from him & at the awful plan itself), and defended the plan

3. got into a fight w sam and yelled that “jack isn’t family!” in front of jack

4. drove jack to go get turned into a bomb

like ummm... let's say 2nd grade or so, somewhere in that range. I had this litte eraser for some reason you know the kind like the cheap gift bag ones. ANYWAYS I decided hell yeah time to impress my friend with this so I stuck it up my nose. How that was supposed to impress my friend I'm not sure maybe it was supposed to be like. Me making an eraser come out of my nose. Regardless I could NOT get it out and was panicking (didn't say anything, naturally) and I sat there for a bit desperately trying to get this eraser out of my nose. I eventually did and no one found out!. This naturally left a mark on me and I haven't stuck anything up my nose since, to my memory.

The US government is suing Adobe for allegedly hiding expensive fees and making it difficult to cancel a subscription.
