I wanted to talk a little bit about the scene in Only Friends where Boston and Nick confront Atom. It's just so masterfully shot and acted.

First, we've got the scene where Nick tell Atom that Boston wouldn't force someone to sleep with him, no matter how terrible he is

Tell me I haven't gone insane and that other people noticed the slight drop in Boston's expression when Nick said that as well. (Or I may very well have finally started reading too much into stuff). It would be easier to show what I mean via gif, but I can't gif, so we'll have to deal with just this.

Additionally, I would like to say just say how much I loved Nick realizing that Boston is telling Atom that he can't fall in love with the first guy he sleeps with when that is EXACTLY what he did. Because Mark Pakin's expressions here:

are pure PERFECTION. I like that this is somewhat foreshadowing their next scene, where Nick seems to have finally understood Boston's way of living life, and accepted it, somewhat through actually living his life a little like Boston does (sleeping with Dan and Boston, no hard commitments).

It's also interesting to me how these shots highlight how Atom and Nick are similar in some way yet very, very different. The difference between Nick & Boston and Atom are shown in the lighting. Boston and Nick bathed in dark green while Atom has red bricks in the background.

But then, when Nick verbalizes the comparison between him and Atom, we see

red bricks behind him.

The scene provided closure for Boston on the Atom situation. I remember seeing a post about how Boston doesn't need his friends to apologize to him, he has Nick for the next few months before he leaves for the USA. And this scene allowed Boston to get a little revenge and, hopefully, move on. [I had two specific posts I had seen a while ago in mind as I wrote this, but I forgot where I saw them, but I've found them now:

@waitmyturtles has a post here, and it's about ep 11 as a whole, but the part about Nick and Boston had me particularly interested. Both Nick and Boston make callouts to each other, Boston indirectly in this scene, and Nick in the scene that follows.

And there's also this post by @neuroticbookworm, which I mentioned above, and it really highlights how oddly Cheum acted when Atom told her the truth, and how Boston doesn't need his friends and can move on freely with his life.

Story idea where Izzy can shapeshift into a wolf/dog, Ed knows but Izzy hasn't done it for years so he sort of forgot, and nobody else knows.

Shortly after Stede returns and makes up with Ed, Izzy leaves the ship because it hurts to watch because he's in love with Ed. He's got a limp now (or completely missing a foot) and has been struggling with being able to sword fight again and considers himself worthless because he values himself by his work. So instead of signing onto a new ship or looking for a job else he just lives as a dog.

When he's in dog form his mind runs more on instincts so he doesn't have to worry about his emotions or heartbreak as much. He's still smarter than the average dog, but his thoughts are a lot simpler and memories don't linger as much.

They look for Izzy when he doesn't return, but because he's a dog, nobody is able to find him and they eventually give up because they have to move on.

A year later, they return to the same port and Fang finds a friendly dog that he convinces Stede to let him keep. When Ed sees the dog he's like 'wtf that's Izzy' and is upset. Everyone else thinks it's because of the no pets rule but Ed never mentions getting rid of the dog.

The dog is a bit nervous around Stede at first but warms up to him. Dog Izzy is scared of Ed, but also oddly defensive over him.

Ed eventually gets Izzy alone and tries to convince Izzy to shapeshift back into a man. But Izzy who's been in his dog form for a whole year has forgotten that he's not actually a dog and doesn't understand him.

Reader's friend knows she is in danger with Jim because she knows he is being fake, one day reader disappears and her friend goes to Scotland yard, talks to Lestrade who ignores her at first, until she mentions Moriarty. He calls Sherlock immediately, they go to her department to see if they can find anything to solve this and that's when Sherlock sees a picture of three kids, it's a red hair kid and he realizes he is the other boy, it's him dressed like a pirate and the little girl they are with is the reader. They used to be good friends and he gets flashes of them playing" In the swing Over the creek where she was too scared to jump in" and now he really wants to find her. He couldn't remember her, he had forgotten about her until now. He knows Jim did it on purpose bring her back to his life to take her away, he had brought him that sweet tea from his childhood on purpose, but why? What is he planning?. He grabs the picture and hates to see those flashes of lost memories now coming back "And I think you should come live with Me and we can be pirates Then you won't have to cry Or hide in the closet"

8. Made up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon

I think he's friends with Finland and Hungary!! He knows them firstly through Estonia, and then got to know Hungary better through Poland. He likes them both well enough, until Estonia gets in an argument with Latvia over something and they're both on Estonia's side even for dumb stuff.

Him and Prussia are brothers. I take no criticism. There's so much drama around this.

This also in my hc makes him Germany's uncle! I haven't done much with it yet but I have a lot of non-coherent ideas 😅

He has personal beef with Norway. Just imagine like reality tv show when they were both living in the US and it's like, completely civil conversation then as soon as they're alone in front of the camera "That bitch thought-" It solely existed bc they were both bored.

His earlier childhood was actually very happy; his mom was dedicated to making sure her kids had as 'normal' a childhood as possible.

Sometime during the northern crusades Gilbert Vakaris, went missing and that's when things went down hill. Bc they assumed him dead, and it took his mother three months to accept that. When she did it broke her.

Aestii was the last of the living ancients in Europe. Yet the last 300 years of her life she would have preferred to be dead.

Tolys spent the rest of his teen years/early adulthood taking care of her and Raivis and trying to keep himself from falling apart. It's around this time his trademark anxiety really started to manifest.

(Side note: in my hc Aestii lived till the 15th century, she would die barely a hundred years before the commonwealth)

Tolys went into his marriage with Feliks barely aware of any of his surroundings. He was still dealing with the loss of his mother, and having recently found out his little brother isn't dead! But hates his guts now! That's FUN!!
