with this new version of bluza that we got, i feel like i have to talk about the lyric "da se nagledam lepote te" (and also maybe the entirety of the last verse bc it drives me crazy)

for starters, it is such a romantic lyric i CANNOT get over it

no english translation can do it justice, the closest i can think of off the top of my head is "so i can soak up that beauty", but even that's not quite right

nagledati is a very specific type of verb (idk what the actual name for it would be cause i don't think it's a svršeni verb?? could be wrong idk grammar was never my strong suit)

it comes from the verb gledati (to look) and the prefix na-

the prefix na- gives it a sort of full quality. najesti (na- + jesti (to eat)) would mean that you've eaten so much that you're now full and can't eat anymore. nahodati (na- + hodati (to walk)) would mean that you've walked so much that you're now tired and can't walk anymore etc etc.

now, nagledati, in the context of looking at the person you're in love with, specifically their beauty AND the additional context that you're going to have to be away from them, for an undetermined amount of time?

looking at your lover so closely and so focused, so you can remember their every wrinkle, every blemish, every freckle, every twinkle in their eyes as they stare at you with the same love you feel for them, just in case you start to miss them, because you know you will, your heart would never let you fool yourself into thinking otherwise?

now, i think it's probably just because that's the closest serbian has to gender neutral pronouns*, but i also think it's interesting to think of bojan, as the "protagonist" of the song, pleading the world to stop so he could get more time with his lover, a moment of selfishness

and the way the rest of the song sets up this almost domestic feeling "soba nam je mala"/"our room is small", which could also be translated to "the room is too small for us" as in "this room is far too small for our love, to handle us"

and i just... how can you not love this song...

additional notes:

* i'm an idiot, i just remembered that singular imperative exists and is also gender neutral so the lyric could have been "spasi me, smisli neki plan" but it's not so the whole protagonist talking to the world stuff might have been the intended purpose

HAHA, you're really indulging me huh

Ohhh what to talk about. It's funny, they occupy my brain 24/7 but as soon as someone asks me about them then there's nothing in that little head of mine. I guess I'm just gonna ramble lol.

Today I've been headcanoning about Touka sitting and waiting next to Kaneki while he's in his coma. Saiko and Urie being next to her as well and Saiko asking her who she is since she and Urie shouldnnttt really know her iirc. She introduces herself and also says that she's nekis wife (I will never get over her "MY HUSBANDS WAITING FOR ME UP THERE" MY GOD, I DIED AND ASCENDED HEAVEN THAT DAY) and saiko and urie getting shocked at that.

Saiko gets sad about the fact that she missed the wedding (calling her mamans wife from then on 😭♥️) and Urie mutters "First Takeomi, now Haise......." which catches Touka's attention. Since they visited yorikos wedding, she probably asked Kaneki who the man is she's marrying and what he's like. So if they know takeomi then they should also know what happened to yoriko!

And she freezes up because since she found out about the execution, she probs completely avoided thinking about it nor engaging with the topic in any way. She already did canonically with Kaneki but he knows how she feels and how that is and can give her comfort in the nights when the pain is too much to bear. Touka silently crying while Kaneki hugs her and kisses her trying to ease the pain if not at least a little 🥺

She is too scared to even ask if yoriko's still alive, too afraid of the answer. And while she starts trying to form the question, she unconsciously holds kaneki's hand enclosed between her two hands and squeezes it. Trying to find the strength to ask that question.

Urie starts answering before she even finished forming her sentence, assuming maybe she wants to ask where they are and tells her that they left the city (IIRC LMAO).

She falls forward, relief going through her whole body and holds kanekis hand against her forehead. Saiko and Urie ask her if she's okay since her body starts shaking but she says that she's fine. Knowing that Yoriko is alive and well and away from all the insanity that is happening right now in Tokyo, she couldnt be more happier about it. Now she only needs the person in front of her to wake up.

Gahhhh, I'm just.... soooo damn soft for hurt/comfort AND THATS LITERALLY TOUKENS WHOLE THING. Makes me think about the way Kaneki was nervous about seeing Hide again after all these years and going for Touka's hand, wanting to hold it in order to ease that nervousness 😭🤲🤲🤲 THEY ALWAYS GO FOR EACHOTHERS HANDS WHENEVER THEY ARE IN NEED OF COMFORT.

Although I also really like the thought of Kaneki needing lots of physical comfort and touka needing emotional comfort while the way that they give comfort is both the opposite, Kaneki giving emotional comfort and touka giving physical one. Perfectly aligning <3

Mikey walks into a pizza restaurant, sitting at a table secluded by the shadows of the walls. He stares at a group of friends laughing, his eyes are blank, not a blank of emotion behind them. His eyes are targeted at a person, Y/n, at the back of the group, they joke with a man as they sip their drink.

A band of high schoolers plays softly in the background, obviously trying to get some cash with their musical talent. It's a mix of jazz and classical rock, with a light bouncy atmosphere produced from within them.

Nick D’Virgilio, Neal Morse és Ross Jennings első közös alkotása, a ’Troika’ megjelenése kapcsán még úgy tűnt, hogy egyszeri projekt lesz hármójuk együttműködése. Magam sem hittem volna, hogy az első megjelenése után bő egy évvel már a másodikat is bejelentik. A földrajzi távolság a mai korban már nem akadály, így ott folytatta a közös munkát a 3 zenész, ahol egykor abbahagyták. Az év egyik legjobban várt lemeze lett számomra a ’Sophomore’, mert biztos voltam benne, hogy Nick, Neal és Ross magasabb szintre lép.

Azt tudtam, hogy akusztikus hangszerekre, jó hangszerelésekre, nagyszerű éneklésre, jól kidolgozott háromszólamú vokálokra ezen az új lemezen is számíthatok, de a ’Sophomore’-on hallottak megleptek! Ez a három kiváló zenész ezúttal teljes harmóniában, egy zenekarként írta meg új dalait, amelyekhez bőven kihasználták a stúdió adta lehetőségeket. Bőven hallhatunk billentyűs betéteket, elektromos gitárokat ezekben az új dalokban. A Crosby, Stills And Nash-féle irányvonal egyesült a Spock’s Beard-féle hangzásvilággal.

A nyitó Hard To Be Easy tökéletes példa arra, hogy ez a trió mire képes 2023-ban. Az elején még egy könnyed akusztikus, tábortüzes hangulatot hoz a dal, de a közepén már megérkeznek a plusz hangszerek, mint az orgona és a kíséretet játszó elektromos gitár is. Ének terén jól hallható, hogy ezúttal közös produkcióról van szó. A következő ilyen gyors tempójú szerzemény a Tiny Little Fires, amely kicsit country beütésű lett. Ross nemcsak ének terén vált főszereplővé, hanem a xilofonon hallható témával is. Jó hallani, hogy a Haken frontembere ennyire otthonosan mozog ebben a stílusban, jól áll neki ez a fajta könnyedség. Ha már country, jöhet a meglepetés, a steel gitárral megszólaló Right Where You Should Be. A végén pedig levezetésképpen Ross előadásában is meghallgathatjuk a dalt, az alternatív bónuszverzióban. A lemez kakukktojása a Mama, amely egy igazi gyors tempójú rockdal. Neal a talk box-os díszítést választotta ezúttal. Ének terén itt Nick viszi a prímet, miközben a Queen világát megidéző háromszólamú vokálokat hallhatunk. Az, hogy a trió nyitott ebbe az irányba, szerintem jót tett a lemeznek, sokkal változatosabb, mint az előző. A lemez vége felé érkező Walking On Water pedig visszakanyarodik az akusztikus vonalhoz.

A ’Sophomore’ lassú nóták tekintetében is nagyszerűeket hozott. A ’Troika’-n több olyan dal volt, amely Neal bármelyik szólólemezén elfért volna gond nélkül, akárcsak az itt első kislemezként bemutatkozó Anywhere The Wind Blows. De a másodéves D’Virgilio, Morse & Jennings formáció hozott még olyan alkotásokat, melyeken keresztül Neal érzelemvilágába élhetjük bele magunkat. Ilyen a The Weary One, melyet két verzióban is megismerhettem, hiszen a bónuszok között helyett kapó alternatív változatot is tartalmazta a digitális promócsomag. Itt a lemezverziótól eltérően nincs vonós betét, de úgy is mondhatnám, hogy egy szál gitáros változat, ami mellett tökéletesen hallhatjuk a nagyszerű éneklést.

Összegzés:

Nick D’Virgilio, Neal Morse és Ross Jennings második lemeze is igazi örömzene. Változatos és könnyed, újabb bizonyíték arra, hogy néha az egyszerűbb szerkezetű muzsika jobb élményt adhat, mint a túl komplikált. Számomra a ’Sophomore’ 2023 egyik kiemelkedő alkotása!

One Punch Man

English: One of the first ones I watched. I wouldn't have decided to watch it if I hadn't come across those short anime videos that were quite interesting. Like the one with the mosquito or when he did the physical test for heroes. The first season was really interesting, with him being too strong but also too dumb, so they classified him as a 'C' class hero. His disciple Genos tries to learn something from Saitama, while Saitama barely takes anything seriously. There are also some iconic moments, like when he realized during a fight that his discount at the store had expired, and he decided to finish off the enemy right then and there. The relationship between Saitama and Genos gives me more of a vibe of brothers rather than sensei-student. I also like that the strength of the characters is based on their danger level. If I remember correctly, there are 'Demon,' 'Dragon,' 'God,' and something else. I can't recall exactly what happened in each season, but I remember both of them being pretty good. Then, the other top heroes can't understand what's so special about Saitama because he has never been able to show it to others. The only ones who have seen his true power, if I recall correctly, are Bang and Genos. At the end of the second season, they supposedly fought against some giant caterpillar, and that's where it ended. I can't remember what happened to that Garou guy, whether he died or he's alive, I think he survived... Also, this was the first anime that gave me motivation, and I actually started exercising for a while. The third season is supposed to come out in the near future, and I'm interested to see how the story will continue. I've heard the manga is excellent too, so I can't wait.

Favorite Character: Saitama Serbian: Jedan od prvih koje sam pogledao. Ne bih odlučio da ga gledam da mi nisu iskakali kratki videi iz animea koji su bili prilično zanimljivi. Tipa onaj sa komarcem ili ono kad je radio fizički test za heroja. Prva sezona je bila baš zanimljiva, to što je bio previše jak, ali i previše glup, pa su ga klasificirali kao 'C' heroja. Onaj njegov učenik Dženos koji pokušava da nauči nešto od Saitame, dok Saitama jedva nešto shvata ozbiljno. Tu su i još neki ikonični momenti, kao kad je tokom borbe shvatio da je istekao popust u prodavnici, i onda odlučio da iste sekunde dovrši neprijatelja. Odnos između Saitame i Dženosa mi više daje vajb kao da su braća a ne sensei-učenik. Sviđa mi se i to što se jačina likova bazira na njihovom nivou opasnosti. Ako se dobro sećam, ima 'Demon,' 'Zmaj,' 'Bog' i još nešto. Ne mogu da se setim šta je tačno bilo u kojoj sezoni, ali se sećam da su mi obe bile prilično dobre. Onda, ostali veći heroji ne mogu da shvate šta ja to posebno kod Saitame, jer nikad nije uspeo to da pokaže ostalima. Jedini koji su videli njegovu pravu snagu su, ako se dobro sećam, Bang i Dženos. Na kraju druge sezone su se valjda borili sa nekom gigantskom gusenicom, i tamo se završilo. Ne sećam se šta je bilo sa onim Garom, da l' je umro ili je živ, mislim da je preživeo... Takođe, ovo je bio prvi anime koji mi je dao motivaciju, i tako sam jedno vreme zaista krenuo da vežbam. Treća sezona treba da izađe u skorijoj budućnosti, zanima me kako će to priča da se nastavi, a čuo sam i da je manga odlična, tako da jedva čekam. Omiljeni Lik: Saitama
