REAL TIME NOW
PLEASE READ:
Good morning Ms. ......! Attached please find the denial letter from EA concerning the temporary rental assistance that I so desperately need in order to get the very necessary medical treatment for my 2 injured shoulders and my injured back, legs and feet that I have not yet been able to recover from because of a similar denial that occurred 9 years ago on the job. I need to appeal as soon as possible, so as not to be sent into the street as homeless again for the 2nd time in less than 10 years.
According to the letter, what I am being told to do is to stay in my present address, my home that I have fought so hard to obtain, until the landlord pays the legal system approx $1000 to file for my eviction that he knows he will not get back, a tax right off. So he will lose $1000 if he files for eviction. He will not do that. Nobody in their sane right mind would.
Then once the owner of the property, the landlord, has paid his $1000 to the legal system, then it becomes an emergency. I then am required by this decision to remain in my home for an additional 2 plus months at $800 per month until social services finds me a room in a roomming house to live in. By making that decision they are telling me that I need to stay in a potentially dangerous situation with a man who has paid my rent out of his own pocket for the past 6 months since my injury and my unemployment benefits ran out. And I need to live with him and walk by him and see him every day as I live rent free on his expense, as the electricity goes off, tv gets shut down and he himself struggles financially until he gets action by my leaving his home, my home too presently. I already owe this man almost or over $5000 that basically he lost according to the letter, and he is required by law to lose another $1000-3000 until the action of removing me, his physically disabled roommate, from his home. I can see for sure how this situation could easily blow up to a violent confrontation. I hope you and the court can see this also.
So, the landlord and roommate, who I am already indebted to for $5000 will need to lose another $3000-5000 just to see justice performed in the United States of America. Thats great! Why? Because prior to this both the roommate and landlord leaned to the left politically and now see the crimes being committed against the citizens ARE in FACT true and happening right before our eyes. They also see that the crimes being committed are not only against the white citizen, which many do agree with and appreciate, but the crimes are also against the brown citizen, as the 2 are now required by law to pay and lose almost $10,000 just because a tenant/roommate has been injured and can no longer continue to work and support himself.
I am only 2 years before my official retirement age. I have worked all my life, beginning at 10 years old. I have supported myself, my son, my family, lent and or gave money to those in need, and helped many, many people who I know can never pay back what they received. And I have paid taxes to this nation all my life, with the exception of 3 years when I was first made homeless by the State of New Jersey because of the injuries I sustained 9 years ago. So I have actually paid for the benefits I am now being denied for the 2nd times in less than 10 years. What is happening to me right now is a crime. It is a crime against my civil rights as a citizen of the United States of America, it is a crime against my basic human rights as a human being being committed by a goverment  who claims to fight the very crimes against human rights that they are, and have, committed. It is also a crime of deception by deceiving the owner of this property I now live at to think he will get justice after filing the eviction paperwork with the courts, and it is a crime of deception to deceive my current roommate to think that the goverment will force him to continue to pay my share of the rent, that he will never get back, just so that justice can be served. It is a crime of deception to me, the now disabled citizen who can no longer work just shy of 2 years til retirement, to tell me that I need to go through social services, not temporary disability, when I become injured as the bridge to gap work to disability. Nine years ago I was made homeless for the same reason, so these crimes have already been committed against me once, but I continued so my roommate could see the truth for himself. Now he knows.
I am asking you to appeal this decision on my behalf and to right the wrong that has been committed, the crimes, against me now, the 2nd time, and against millions of other American citizens. To create a society of poverty where citizens have to fight for their lives literally, and force roommate situations and roomming houses, how can the same goverment then deny help to people who live with roommates or in roomming houses? Illegally is the only way, unless this is no longer the America we claim to be. We have sa serious identity problem if this is legal and ok.

i read a comment on twitter i believe saying people who dislike gojohime but ship satosugu are hypocrites because geto betrayed gojo and gojo murdered geto. so no, i don't think they realise utahime dislikes gojo, the reach of that nor the damaging behaviour behind trying to make gojo x utahime a thing. i think they believe their fights are a sign of chemistry, as if utahime is a tsundere. they cannot comprehend that she's an adult and the implications of gojo's behaviour towards her. or even the impacts of his sole existence. it's quite weird because the whole point of jjk seems to jump over their head. gege introduced in jjk the topic of mysoginy, developed it quite a bit and talked about how women are treated in jjk society but they believe that's a sign of romance somehow. i don't understand how that makes sense tbh
Not even gonna touch disputes on shipping, --because that's always a headache to get into-- but Geto presents more as an equal to Gojo.
When they fight in that first chapter of the arc its because Gojo is calling out Geto's logic toward his duty as a sorcerer. Its a difference of opinions toward their jobs, but we know that they're both arguing from the same pedestal as Special Grades. Even with Geto's betrayal and death, they never stopped being equals.
With Utahime, it's just Gojo picking on someone weaker than him, both in terms of raw power and within Jujutsu society. I doubt that its intentionally malicious (because he's a teenager and he likes getting a rise out of people, that's his personality) but Gojo also benefits from the fact that he outranked her from the day he was born.
On top of that, Geto also gets called out (by Mei Mei iirc) for calling Utahime weak, because he may not have a rare clan technique that made him a Special Grade at birth, but he certainly was one by the time we see him in that chapter. So him and Gojo are in the same boat here.
Both of them benefit from being born extraordinarily powerful in a system that rewards strength, but they have the added benefit of being men in a society that will automatically place them above their female counterparts. (Makes you wonder why the only female special-grade is so focused on getting rid of Curses and by exstension, the need for that society to exist in the first place.)
So I can't see Utahime having any kind of affection for a man that has always been placed above her by the people around her despite her own capabilities as a Grade 1 (which is incredibly strong as far as Sorcerers are concerned) and who constantly reminds her of that fact. Even moving into their lives as adults, he still makes it hard for her to keep the respect that she worked hard for.
It's just wild to me that Gege can show us over and over again that Jujutsu society has a very real and prevalent problem with misogyny (including Momo blatantly laying it out for us during the exchange event) and it's just... swept under the rug for "what-ifs."

10 Anti LO Asks
1. wait is arion a human or horse in this comic
From OP: Horse.
2. rachel is really outdoing herself by not just ripping off hercules, but sleeping beauty too. she also got mad people noticed a lot of elements seemed straight ripped from frozen as well awhile back, and obvs the fifty shades rip offs are too obvious to ignore. i realize yes a lot of stories will share tropes and all, but not directly ripped plots like rachel is doing. that's so unprofessional and just lazy.
3. if hera and zeus have to lock away their own child for the sake of making sure persephone stays the pure precious bean she is and is never be ~badly influenced~ by her then thats absolutely insane. was it really too much to let persephone, THE DREAD QUEEN, have any complexity that rachel has resorted to throwing ANOTHER woman under the bus than let her self insert have even one flaw or even choice in the story? how does she keep making up the worst possible options for any of this?
4. Lowkey kinda hate how long it took for a real moment for Hera Hestia and Demeter to be together as sisters. Hera set up Persephone and hades knowing Damn well Hestia and Demeter made her a Candidate for TOGeM. Other than staying a Virgin forever and having temples idk what TOGeM actually does. Like we know why Demeter wants her daughter as a memeber but what’s the actual functionality of the group. Hera just seems like a bad friend/sister for setting up her friends daughter with an older guy just because she felt bad for using that guy as a bad up when he marriage gets bad.
Don’t get me wrong the other cast members suck I’m just singling out Hera right now for her involvement in the plot so far
5. FP mention
///
Btw the fact that Persephone looks like a teenager for the rest of her life and that she was blessed with beauty TWICE is REALLY fucked up. Like what Rachel wants to say???? That teenage girls are the most attractive??? And we shouldn't blame grown-ass men who wants to date them bc they're so much prettier than grown women??? I really don't understand. Or her double-beauty means that her tits are bigger from everyone else's?? Bc apart from that I don't get why Persephone should be more beautiful than Aphrodite(who tbh also looks terrible here Rachel spares no one with her ugly-ass style) when she's literally looks like a kid.
6. I honestly hope there's a major shakeup at WT (hopefully while RS is on her break) and they adopt a longer break between episodes so not only are they allowed more time to focus on the story but the art as well, but also an overhaul in the payment + benefit system. So many of the creators, even the popular ones, are struggling with horrible hours and no benefits, despite making the company millions. Hell, let them unionize. That would be a huge win and draw for new, better talent to want in too.
7. nah nope those fp spoilers better be fake because thats legit too stupid to be true. like we already know rachel is a shit writer but thats just so bad on so many levels. we know her editor is not getting through to her because they literally have a degree in writing and you know theyd pop a blood vessel over any of this. they must only post the episodes for her because that legit wouldnt pass anyone with two brain cells.hooooly shit.
8. Even beyond how creepy it is Hades refers to Persephone as "Little Goddess"/"Kore" (🤢) it's also so patronizing? Sorry, I don't care how hot Persephone finds him or how meek RS forced her to be, any self respecting woman, no matter how young, wouldn't stand for being disrespected, belittled, and treated like that. Maybe RS can try and excuse it that Persephone IS that young to warrant the comments, but that just brings up the question of why Hades lusting after someone he sees as a child 🤔
9. the funniest part about rachel insisting persephone is the most beautiful goddess ever is that one) ok?? why would that matter?? but also two) every woman looks so carbon copied (minus athena) that even dedicated fans cant tell them apart so that doubly doesnt matter?? like then every woman is the twice blessed over with beauty because none of them look different from each other. idk the whole thing just screams 14 year old's first fanfic over a published comic by a woman pushing 40💀
10. Can someone tell me if Minthe has depth or not and explain why….Cause, I’m arguing with these fans and they’re getting a lil too confident 😑☹️
From OP: Kinda?? Like, most of the characters in LO aren’t very deep. So, Minthe having more to her than just “evil love rival/bitter ex” and having BPD can be seen as adding depth to her character. She is very morally grey antagonist and many people tend sympathize with her at times, even if they don’t like her. Someone else can probably elaborate more than I can.

Okay but I do actually want to know both the things you love and the things you could rant about from DCTL?
OH BOY UHHHHHH okay lets see, I'm gonna see if I can do the "add a readmore after you post it" thing and see if that'll keep it stable.......
But also, much like Sammy, I am incapable of shutting up unless you strike me in the head with a blunt object, so uh, forgive my wordiness:
THINGS I ENJOY:
- DCTL gave us Sammy's ink addiction and like, if you had asked me before all this "what would you most like to see in a franchise?" I would not have answered "one of the characters drinks ink accidentally and then discovers that he can't stop" but boy that sure is my favourite concept that I LOVE to see handled literally any other way than how the book handled it!!!
- I like what it added to Tom and Allison and Norman!! Like, it's not big twists on their characters or anything -- we already knew Tom felt he was doing the wrong thing, so getting to see his CRUSHING GUILT over creating the machine isn't New Information, but it's nice to see and understand more of him; for all of them I feel a lot more attached to them after getting to see more of them as people.
- Like 90% of the "I LOVE IT" category for me is how the book handled Joey, and Buddy's relationship with Joey. The way Joey isn't a Sinister Mastermind Who’s Just Screwing With Everyone but just manipulative in a more mundane way -- someone who thinks of himself as just the guy with the vision to call the shots; he wants what he wants and this is how he's learned to get it; he exploits people not through devious schemes, but just by offering them something that they want or need and asking too much in return, expecting their loyalty for his favours. And the way he interacts with Buddy, making Buddy complicit with him and keeping Buddy off-balance and insecure while making him a favourite and treating him as Special is just PERFECT --  gives a lot of content to kind of extrapolate off of when pondering what must've drawn the others in and convinced them to ignore the red flags. I was initially frustrated with the idea of Buddy not being an artist and jUST DECIDING TO LEARN TO ANIMATE ON THE SPOT ("I've never done this before but I'm sure I can just do an artist's job" is a weirdly common throwaway thing in media and as an artist iTS A PET PEEVE) but actually the way they use his plagiarism to make him trapped in a lie in ways Joey doesn't even realise ends up being a neat echo of other employees (coughTOMcough), who were involved in much graver sins but suddenly felt they couldn't object or they'd lose their one chance, just like Buddy. There's a lot here that I think is really great.
OKAY THATS THE GOOD STUFF, LET'S COMPLAIN ABOUT SAMMY:
- Uncomfortable Bigotry Vagueness that we all knew was gonna be in this list -- I dunno man, a guy committing a microaggression and getting startled and defensive when he's called out for it doesn't necessarily completely ruin his character I GUESS, but the way this was handled is just SO WEIRD AND VAGUE that it's uncomfortable and it doesn't seem to serve any real purpose. "Is Tom black?" is a question I actually have to ask because the text sort of implies he is while also dancing around it and apparently Word of God said he's not??? which makes Buddy's comment nonsensical???? And I mean, you could go that route, since Buddy wonders to himself if Sammy talks to everyone like this -- HE ACTUALLY DOES!! Even within the text of the novel, he uses "Joey" instead of Mr. Drew, which is consistent with his audiologs in the game -- but that makes the writing suggest "this character THINKS this guy might be racist but actually they're reading too much into it and it wasn't racially motivated at all, he's just a jerk!!" wHICH IS SOMEHOW EVEN MORE ICKY??? Anyway like yeah I guess it's not inconsistent with his character that while Sammy Lawrence may not have any specific grudge against minorities he has probably not checked his privilege or done the work to challenge his own internal biases, but “Your Fav Probably Contributes To Systemic Racism In Ways He Hasn’t Considered, As Do We All When Our Assumptions Go Unchecked” is still a wild thing to wade through in a fun story about demonic cartoons
- but yknow so is T H E   H O L O C A U S T
- Sammy's voice is wrong. I'm actually okay with him being a weird awkward asshole, I already kind of assumed he was and that's part of why I like him!! but there's so many places he doesn't quite... talk like himself? And not just in terms of word choice, like -- so in his monologue at the end, he's described as talking so quickly that his words are "tumbling out faster than he can speak them," which initially seems fine; like yeah, that's a Standard Scene we're familiar with, the person who's been Driven Mad With Insight becoming more and more manic as they try to convey it -- until I tried to imagine it and realised that Sammy doesn't talk like this. That's a really consistent quality I always notice about his voice; whether he's almost giddily excited in prophet mode, or he’s his irritated and overworked human self, or he's violently angry and his voice has that echo effect -- he always speaks very deliberately. He enunciates carefully. There's some circumstances where I'd buy this as showing that he's Not Himself, but I feel like those would kind of need to be in the middle of his transformation, not at the end of it.
- In fact a lot of the scenes with Sammy kind of have this feeling -- that it's not necessarily an exploration of Sammy as a character, but that he is filling a trope or archetype role here. Once he's fully transformed he excitedly describes the process as more of a mental compulsion, which is in contrast to his weird yeerk-infected behaviour when trying to get ink from Miss Lambert. Both of those scenes don't seem wrong on their own because they fit tropes we know -- but they feel weird when you try to fit them together.
- I also just in general am not a fan of the ink acting like a weird yeerk. It can be a parasite I guess but when it starts overwriting and puppeting people and crawling around to enter their body that's just a completely DIFFERENT kind of supernatural story and it’s not what im here for!!!
- THE FREAKIN!!! HE WILL SET US FREE!!!! WHY????????? SAMUEL LAWRENCE WHAT IS HE SETTING YOU FREE FROM??????? Sammy has No Motive for any of what he's doing, other than just Ink Made Me Do It. The whole thing that was INTERESTING about Sammy as a character is the contrast between this frustrated, ornery musician with no specific love for the cartoons he works on, and the manically devoted cultist he becomes. What happened in the middle there? What made him desperate enough to shift his mindset so much? "Something supernatural made him do things that don't benefit him in any way" is a very boring answer to this question!!! Susie was a victim who implies that her transformation has forced her to do things she didn't want to do, but we can still see her motive -- she wanted to be Alice, so she took a sketchy offer to try to get what she wanted. Even now, her violence echoes that goal -- to be a more perfect Alice. What did Sammy want? WHO KNOWS. Even in his ink-addled state at the end, we don't understand what he hopes the Ink Demon will even do for him, and in fact he seems to be responsible for creating the very scenario he's begging Bendy to reverse in the game.
- [sighs loudly into my hands]
- Overall I'm left wondering if the author just..... didn't like Sammy Lawrence? And I don't mean that in the sense of him being a rude jerk -- like, Joey is not a good person, but the author seems to be interested in him and in what makes him tick. There doesn't seem to be that same interest in Sammy. Sammy's role in the story is that of a monster, transformed into something murderous, unable to prevent or choose it. He's not a victim of anyone but the ink, no one had to manipulate him or figure out how his brain worked or what he wanted or what he feared or give him any reason to do the things he does -- ink got in his mouth and overwrote his personality. And we don't even get to see that change, not really. He starts out angry and defensive and continues being angry and defensive up until his very last scene, denying his ink-stealing but not really much else. We see all his prophetic sketches but we never see hints of this in him, we never see him start to act more excited and hopeful, we never see him seek out the demon he desires to please. Why do we never see Sammy struggling between his dismissive angry front and a building religious fervour he can't quite suppress? We don't get to see any of the in-between. There's no interest at all in why or even what it looked like as Sammy became what he became, when, to be honest, I suspect interest in precisely that is one reason he's such a big fav.
- It's funny, in a "cries into my hands" kind of way, when Sammy is just knocked in the head while monologuing and immediately removed from the story without further mention, like...... that sure is the pattern with him, isn't it, he just tries very very hard and never actually gets to matter, but it also fits right in here, too, in this book that doesn't want to think about his motives -- he rambles nonsensically, explaining nothing, gets one trademark phrase, and then is hastily removed so the story doesn't have to think about him anymore.
...................I think that's most of it.
...
Y'all............ I'm not ready for Sent From Above.......... I'm just not.... I'm not emotionally ready...... like..... Sammy has to be in that right..... he’s Susie’s boss and she has that big crush on him..................................... I’m not ready

night out
It was Friday night and we had arrived at the club. i was apprehensive because normally I rarely go out with Calum in public like this. Our relationship was sort of a friends with benefits situation but only the benefits were a lot more intense. Calum was my dom.
As the uber pulled up outside the nightclub, Calum squeezed my thigh and then opened his car door, getting out, holding his hand out for me to follow. I obliged and he pulled me out of the sleek black Mercedes. I was wearing a short, dark green, satin mini dress which had a low v-neck that showed off just enough cleavage to tease Calum but not that I was flashing everyone in the club. I paired my dress some plain black strappy heels. I did do my hair however by the time we left his apartment it was messy already as Calum loved to play with my hair.
Calum was wearing a white satin shirt. He had opened up the top three buttons exposing his intricate tattoos and honey skin. He rolled the sleeves up so they were 3/4 length and it accentuated the veins in his toned, muscular arms. He wore some black jeans which he tucked the shirt into. He wore a belt which i prayed he would use on me later on in the night when we were alone again. i craved him more than ever. I needed his hands around my throat with his rings and black nail polish on.
i realised i was just staring at him and not moving while he chuckled to himself. He took my hand and we were able to walk straight into the club with no hesitation from the security. Calum was known in the city as being someone who is respected and powerful. People either wanted to be Calum or to fuck him.
“what would you like to drink, love?” Calum whispered in my ear as we approach the bar.
“i don’t really mind anything with vodka please” i replied, i wanted to get drunk as fuck as its one of the only times Calum is letting me drink with him and i wanted to enjoy it.
I got my drink and drank half quickly before grabbing Calum and pulling him onto the dance floor with me. because i’m such a lightweight, i could feel the vodka running through my system already. I pulled Calum closer and started to dance around him while he watched with a dangerous look in his eye.
we carried on dancing together for what felt like hours before i needed a break. i asked Calum for another drink by this point i was really drunk and the room was starting to spin but i wasn’t satisfied.
He obliges and gets me a drink, while he’s at the bar i stand to the side of him and take out my phone and start to check my socials. from above my phone i can see a guy come up to me and smile at me. drunkenly i slur out a hello which catches the attention of Calum who looked very angry. Calum walked in between me and the semi-attractive guy and stared at him intensely until the guy walks away.
“thats it i’ve had enough” Calum mumbles under his breath as he grabs my hand and begins to pull us out the sweaty, loud night club.
i stumble along behind him and struggle to keep up with his long strides. Calum is about half a foot taller than me even when I’m in heels so i tugged on his hand in attempt to get him to slow down.
a few minutes later i don’t remember how but we were in the uber home. i began to feel tired so leaned against Calum’s side. he seemed angry still so i placed my hand on his thigh and rubbed it to try and calm him down. his breathing began to go ragged and i blushed at the effect i had on him.
he placed his large hands on my thigh and i shivered at the feeling of the cold metal of his rings against my bare inner thighs. he started to rub my thighs and go higher up. My stomach was flipping like crazy and he knew it.
the driver pulled up outside Calum’s house and i had never been more excited to get inside. we tipped the driver and nearly ran inside we were so ready to have each-other.
as soon as he closed his front door he slammed me against it and started his sweet assault on my neck leaving me hickeys and a whimpering mess.
through shortened breaths he whispered “do you even realise what you do to me y/n? you drive me crazy. all those guys were watching you. watching whats mine. all mine”
by this point i was a wet moaning mess and began to undo the buttons on his shirt. in one swift motion he took off his belt and grabbed my hands out before tying them up with the belt tightly.
he pushed my tied up hands against the wall and pulled down the top half of my dress exposing my bare nipples. He quickly grabbed my right boob while still securing my hands above my head with his left hand. He placed his mouth on my right nipple and began to tease and suck. i was a moaning mess and getting wetter by the second.
he picked me up and carried me to his bedroom before throwing me on the bed. i landed with a shriek and he immediately started to choke me while climbing on top of me and kissing all down my torso.
he paused briefly to take his jeans off and then climbed back on top of me his weight and intoxicating smell suffocating me in the best way possible.
he looked me up and down longingly while licking his lips and grabbed a condom from his draw before looking at me to ask if this was okay, i nodded and he slid the condom on effortlessly.
he grabbed my bare legs in one hand and placed each leg on either of his shoulders never breaking eye contact. my arms were still tied up and Calum took one last look at me before entering with so much force that i let out a scream of pleasure. the position was his favourite as he loved to look at my face during sex and liked how deep it feels like this and i am not disagreeing. it felt so far in and his already large member felt bigger with every stroke. he grabbed my boobs with his hands and continued to thrust into me.
i was going to climax quickly and i could tell he was too. we had both been waiting all night for this. with two last thrusts, we both came at the same time in a mess of moans and screams. it was incredible. he collapsed on top of me while he caught his breath.
he looked up at me and smirked “round two?”

pat here that was a great read I'm sorry I was so confusing I want to clear up that I have no issue with voting Biden he is who is needed to be president right now of the options we have I have no doubt. He's not perfect as you said but I don't understand those who say they are the same. I am going to take a couple asks to hopefully be clearer about what I was attempting to say feel free to ignore if I'm repeating myself but please know I've never even considered not voting Biden once he was it
you've made some great points so some of what I was thinking may be invalid now, I'm a fairly new voter I'm not totally familiar with the process yet. I was trying to say as someone in the christian circle I know a lot of people who know trump is a bad person yet are lining up to vote for him anyway due almost entirely to wanting to see abortion overturned. These are people who would (obviously wrongly) consider themselves loving and kind people ignoring the many of their values for 1 issue. yes, I agree this is a common source of confusion for me in terms of right-wing voters abortion is about control especially to the men in charge and many others its also about life I know lots of women and I'm sure there are men, who really believe the stories about babies fighting while being aborted. its the defining issue of the party but the people are coming out to vote for whatever benefits they think anti abortion laws will bring them at least that's the experience with the people around me, it might not be universal no, I think you’re right about that. but I also think that is generally how things tend to go; we could probably look back at history and see people choosing their stances on one “hot” issue. say, prohibition, for example.
so when I say the left is fractured I mean that we want health care we want action on climate change we want something to be done about policing but we don't agree on how it should be accomplished and I have seen many people outright refuse to vote for Biden because he doesn't offer every single thing they are looking for on every issue on these issues. Thats what I was trying to say by saying its fractured. I am refraining from trashing Biden/dems during this particular time because I don’t think it serves a purpose, especially since the GOP agenda is much more concerning, but yes, once the election is over we should continue to be critical of policy decisions because to me voting 3rd cause Biden changed some of the GND is so selfish yet they are so like my grandmother believes trump was anointed by god to stop abortion yikes (and end the world??) and so though she's conflicted cause she knows he's bad she'll ultimately vote for him due to that. My long winded point (lmao) was I think there are many like her and they don't see they are being used (they aren't victims they are very complicit in his evil but I think trump takes advances of easy targets and pandering to christians is one of those targets) “trump” aka every GOP lawmaker I don't see the right struggle so hard with the 3rd party or not voting and so I wondered if the GOP lawmakers are actively not seeing through one of the core party values in order to keep the party together and voting for them, (they are a mess but they are typically a mess that agrees I think? cause they are selfish and the inconsistent policies consistently benefit only them) only one more left I promise god I'm so sorry I'm insufferable I at least hope this all made more sense
last one, maybe my flaw is that its just trump who has no intention of overturning abortion yes, this is a major flaw in your reasoning. we’ll discuss (there is no way he was anointed by god!!) and is using it for reelection maybe other lawmakers actually want too and he's held them up idk I think you already answered how i'm wrong anyway aha but I wanted to clear up 2 party system sucks but its not what I was mad about and I am very very clear about voting Biden and I hope I didn't make it seem like people shouldn't!!! please folks vote early & safely the conversation took a slight turn after your asks which is why I wrote my follow-up, but thanks for clarification!
I realized everything I wrote is still probably confusing just ignore it my adhd mind connects things that make like no sense cause its dumb sorry to waste your time! It was a general musing I had like wow how can a chunk of the left take their rights so for granted they'd not vote Biden cause he's not perfect. yes this is a fair source of confusion. people are astoundingly selfish, it’s wild I wonder if the GOP lawmakers see that and purposely don't pass a core issue so their base doesn't get apathetic one day too oof, I wish, but no & I like u so I shared 😂😂 thank you! it’s not a problem to ask, and I’m glad you took the time to clarify.
here is my original answer, with this portion of your question answered in this video; I went off for a bit on a tangent about how abortion politics have basically led to the alienation of women who suffer miscarriages because of recent events on the subject, so I hope you know you’re definitely not the only one who has general musings that can sometimes go on for a bit

Why does the North want independence? No really?
The North historically was not defined by its independence, but rather its allegiance to the crown. During the War of Conquest, Torrhen Stark knelt to save his people the inevitable bloodshed war would bring. This is what the North DOES. It is a kingdom that puts its people, its pragmatism, first. Who cares who is on some chair down south as long as they are fine and not oppressed?
It kept the peace and, important to Northern culture/religion/people, not much changed. Aegon just named the Starks as Wardens of the North and the North preserved their culture and unique religion, left mostly to their own.
The North supported the Targaryen dynasty UNTIL the Mad King because said king grew to be a threat to the Realm.
IMPORTANTLY, the North SUPPORTED ANOTHER RULER: Robert Baratheon. They revolted NOT because they wanted independence (the North has never wanted independence!), but because they wanted a BETTER KING IN THE SOUTH. It worked, and the North was content to basically keep to their own in peace.
When Joffery became king and killed Ned Stark, the North revolted and an independent state with Robb Stark as The King in the North. This came with multiple problems.
1) The North can only function well as an independent state when the leadership in King’s landing is open to negotiate to make this decision, which would be possible if the North had worked to rebel and put in place new leadership in King’s Landing (like was done in Roberts Rebellion).
- 1.a) But they didn’t.
- 1.b) Instead, they declared autonomy during the War of 5 Kings, where the leadership in King’s Landing is contentious --complicating the question of who you are  declaring autonomy FROM.
2)  Robb claimed the Riverlands as part of his independent state without first securing literally any land south of the River Trident.
- 2.a) This meant he was claiming land literally in contention with Lannister forces, ENSURING war.
- 2.b) This also meant the kingdom had no clear borders.
3) The North can only function well as an independent state when the leadership is capable of taking on the responsibilities of a king.
- 3.a)  Robb Stark was not as he married the wrong person bc he Wanted to, ensuring rebellion and fracturing
4) The North can only function well as an independent state when working in tandem with the rest of Westeros
- 4.a) it is notable that the only time the North was an independent state is when literally everywhere else in Westeros was too. The whole continent vs the north does not bode well for the North, no matter how big they are. (This is why uniting in rebellion to instate a new King in King’s Landing would have been better also)
- 4.b) The North is low on resources. It needs the rest of Westeros to trade with (impossible during a war and real bad with Winter coming up). Notably the Reach, operating under House Tyrell that SUPPORTED the Lannisters, is “the most fertile part of Westeros, blessed with vast, blooming fields of crops and flowers, and numerous and well-populated villages and towns; it traditionally helps supply other less fertile parts of the Seven Kingdoms with grain, fruit, wine and livestock.”
- 4.c) in times of food scarcity, notably Winter, the smallfolk suffer first. King’s Landing “[had] enough wheat for a 5 year Winter. If it lasts any longer, [they’d] have fewer peasants.” Thats WITH the support of the Reach. The North could not afford an independence without the support of Westeros. When King’s Landing was cut off from the Reach, it caused the Riot of King’s landing.
The reason Robb’s time as King in the North failed was because of the Lannisters. The reason Robb could not beat the Lannisters is because the North was operating independently Robb Stark literally rejects Jonos Bracken's suggestion they side with Renly. When Renly offers an alliance under the terms that Robb must swear fealty to him as Ned did to Robert, the Starks are resistant.
WHY? Would they rather their people starve alone, warring with a Capital that does not recognize their independence? For what? Some “ideal” of independence? What is the point of independence when it comes at the cost of your people? Nations do not declare themselves independent because it’s cool, they do it because whoever is in power is abusing their authority.
In addition, rebellions like these are only successful when the context is right: when the nation has good leadership in place to take over, when it has a majority established internal loyalty/agreement, when the state they are rebelling against is, to some degree, capable of negotiation. None of these criteria were or currently are met with the North. Especially now considering how crippled they are as a result of the Great War. They are in no way self sustainable, and even if they were, why would they want independence?
Jon Snow, the next King in the North, kneels to Daenerys (echoing Torrhen Stark), because, in Stark fashion, it is the practical thing to do. They needed her (just like Robb truly needed allies like Renly).
Now, the North moves to displace Cersei. Whether they are looking to instate a new Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms or are looking for independence, she needs to go. The question is, what comes next?
When Cersei is gone, why would the North want Independence? It’s looking like either Jon or Daenerys will take the throne. Looking back, we see that The North historically has knelt to avoid war. What is the benefit in independence from the rest of Westeros with either Jon or Daenerys in charge?
With Jon in charge, he would probably just let them be independent because he’s nice (and a bit of a pushover let’s be real). But WHY. Like what would the North gain from independence. The State would no longer be unjust, so why would you want independence? Like I said earlier, Nations demand independence for a Reason. Independence for the sake of independence is pointless at best and can negatively harm the North and her people at worst.
With Daenerys in charge, she would probably not let the North be independent, but there’s nothing to say she wouldn’t just reinstate the Warden of the North system. It’s what she did in Yunkai as well as Mereen. The North was already basically autonomous with all the benefits of being a part of the greater country under the Targaryen dynasty. The only objection would be that the North wants to be fully autonomous, but again I ask WHY?
The North is crippled, still struggling through Winter, and missing the direction of many prominent families that were wiped out. Smallfolk, if even many still live, don’t have House Lords to appeal to because said Lords are mostly dead. I can not imagine the damage that farms and houses went through because of the White Walkers’ storms. Now it is looking like they will lose even more men to the battle with Cersei. The North, if independent, would flounder.
The circumstances that allowed for an independent state in the good old days are gone, and the circumstances that would NECESSITATE an independent North (which I would argue may never be present as rebellion and instating a new king is more efficient and retains the benefits of being part of the Seven Kingdoms) are not present.
The North should not be, nor want to be independent.

hi everyone! i spent this past semester (spring ‘19) studying abroad in china so i wanted to make a post about my experiences! i hope this can help you in deciding if you want to study abroad and help you while you’re abroad! **this post is directed at study abroad programs through a university in the us - i have never done other programs so i cannot speak about them**
choosing to study abroad
i do want to start by saying you dont have to study abroad. this is something that is definitely being pushed lately by colleges (at least in the us) and it can feel like that you must study abroad to get the full college experience. however, its not something that’s necessary or right for everyone and you don’t need to feel pressured to do so. for me personally, i knew i wanted to study abroad in china long before i entered college whereas some of my friends weren’t interested until they started college and learned more about my school’s programs and hearing from upperclassmen who already studied abroad. some questions to ask yourself when deciding if you want to study abroad
will this benefit you as a person, whether its academically and/or for personal growth?
will studying abroad mean you have to take out more student loans that you don’t think you can fully handle (more on this later)?
is your only motivation only to have a more relaxed semester at a country where its legal to drink and/or for resume building? well these aren’t bad things necessarily - live your life the way you want to! - you might not have the amazing time that you’re thinking you will if these are your only motivations
are you (or will you) be able to mentally/emotionally handle the extra challenges that come with living and studying in a foreign country?
this is just a small amount to consider when choosing to study abroad, but another important thing is do what feels right! feel a calling to study in a specific country - then consider it! don’t think traveling is for you despite everyone pushing for it? - then don’t worry about it!
when and where to go
things to consider when determining when
how long do you personally believe you can handle? will a shorter summer session be better so you’re not away as long or do you want a full year for a more immersive experience?
which semester/summer fits best in your schedule? do the classes offered during this time keep you on track?
things to consider when determining where
what location has classes that fit your major/academic goals? if you’re ideal location doesn’t offer what you need, are you okay with doing a summer session or graduating a semester late?
where are you interested in traveling? have a language or culture you’re really interested in (this is why i chose china for my location!)? is there a place you don’t think you’ll get a chance to visit otherwise?
what are the costs for each possible location like? don’t forget to consider paying for food, transportation, activities, and other travel
if your school doesn’t offer a program in your target location don’t let that deter you from studying abroad. a lot of times universities allow students from other universities to apply to their study abroad programs. start by talking to your schools study abroad office/program to see if there are universities that your school already works with!
money
as i mentioned in determining if you should study abroad, one thing that should be considered is money. if studying abroad means you have to take out extra loans that you’re not sure if you can handle, then it might not be the best choice at the moment - there will be other opportunities in your life to travel and not studying abroad does not mean your college experience is incomplete. do whatever is best for you.
when it comes to determining the cost of a semester abroad, do your research! contradictory to what i just said, in terms of student loans, it was cheaper for me to study abroad due to housing being cheaper. however, i still had to spend extra money on plane tickets, travel, food, and other experiences, so it’s not just the cost of tuition and housing that needs to be considered when budgeting for study abroad. not everything will be budget breaking though, food was incredibly cheap relative to nyc in china, so that was another aspect where my semester abroad was cheaper than normal. additionally, with doing your research on the costs of studying abroad, don’t forget to research scholarships! i received two extra scholarships from my school that were strictly study abroad related and there are plenty of outside scholarships related to general study abroad, different majors, and certain locations.
some tips on saving money for study abroad
once you’ve decided to study abroad work on saving money - set a specific amount of your paycheck dedicated for time abroad, think about maybe skipping getting takeout and cooking at home to put that money towards abroad, possibly get a second job during the summer/other breaks
determine beforehand where you want to travel within the country/neighboring countries beforehand so you can approximately figure out what you’ll need to spend to achieve these travel goals
make a budget for daily expenses (food, transportation to campus if needed) and keep track of your spending
take advantage of programs hosted for study abroad students. about half of my traveling to other cities was done through the study abroad program, which cost a small fraction of what the cost would’ve been if i did it on my own
be flexible! there is a good chance you will go over your intended budget, but it is okay - money can comeback, time will not
with that being said however don’t overdo it, there’s nothing wrong with going a bit over for some extra experiences, but you don’t want to break the bank
homesickness/loneliness
in terms of being far away from my family, it wasnt that big of a change compared to a regular semester as i don’t see them during the school year. however, i did miss nyc and my friends very much. it was hard to deal with at certain points, especially when i was having a difficult time with school but here’s somethings i did to help:
set up times to video chat with family and friends - and try to make it a regular thing
send your friends dumb things that you’re doing - dying over homework, eating good food, some animal you saw on the street, a meme that reminded you of them, and so on they’ll be missing you too
make new friends! i know thats easier said than done, but other students in the program are in the same situation as you and will be feeling homesick. set up a semi-regular time to hang out (i made friends with my roommate and another girl and we hung out nearly every saturday to play games on the switch)
some easy ways to get to know people at the beginning are have lunch/dinner together, talk to people in your classes (especially in language classes if you’re in a country that doesn’t speak your native language), hang out with your roommates
participate in any opportunities hosted for study abroad students that you can. it’s a great way to meet other students and get involved in the local culture while spending less money
finally, its important to remind yourself that you have this amazing opportunity to study in a foreign city/country/culture. it is very normal/expected to feel homesick, but reminding yourself of this helps to bring yourself back into focus and enjoy your experience
balance between academics and traveling
this is something i did struggle with and i still do wish i had planned my time better so i could’ve done more, but in general its about finding balance similar to how you would during a regular semester with classes, extracurriculars, friends, jobs. since i wasn’t involved in any extracurriculars or didn’t have a job while abroad that freed up a lotttt of time that i don’t typically have to focus on school work during the week and travel on the weekends. when planning to travel outside of your host city, you’ll want to plan ahead as much as you can as those times are the hardest times to keep up (i had one class that was based on three papers... and two of them were due after weekend trips hosted by the study abroad program not fun man!) here’s some advice that i have for this
save ‘big’ trips for time off - i went to beijing over our spring break, which was the best time to go as i didnt have to worry /as much/ about my work and i could spend more time there compared to my other travels
spend time in the country either before or after. other than beijing, my other ‘big trip’ was to chengdu/xian/zhangjiajie where i visited these cities back to back right after my finals were done
use the time on the plane/train/car/whatever to do some work. i know its easy to just fall asleep or be on your phone, but you’ll be glad that you did some work once the next school day comes
talk with your professors! they will understand that you are a study abroad student and have limited time in the country - one of the weekend trips hosted by my school left before my friday class but we had quizzes every friday in that class so i just let my prof know that i had this opportunity coming up and he let me take the quiz the next monday
try to do your work during the week to leave the weekends free. i would suggest to even save traveling around your host city should be left for the weekends, unless there is some special event going on so that way you can maximize study time during the week and have the weekend free for travel time!
use whatever planning system typically works for you (traditional planners, google calendar etc.) and as soon as you know you have assignments/tests/quizzes, put that in your calendar and start working towards them immediately. also schedule in time to study so you can work towards tests/quizzes everyday so you can travel without worry
i felt i did a good job of balancing travel and academics, however i felt i didnt explore shanghai as much i wanted to. if i had planned out my study time better, i could’ve opened up more free time on the weekends to go out in the city.
other advice
if you’re not in college yet, make sure you’re researching schools that you look at their study abroad programs and that they have the location(s) you’re interested in!
let your advisor know that you’re planning on studying abroad as soon as you can (even if you’re just thinking about it and aren’t sure yet) so they can help you stay on track and plan for it
with that last point being said, don’t solely rely on them - do your own research, check which classes are offered, save any emails confirming that classes abroad will count for your classes, keep track of application requirements and deadlines and so on
i hope this post is helpful in your study abroad journey! if you have any further questions please feel free to message me✨
bonus! check out my day in the life in shanghai video :]

THE 100 my thoughts of 6.07.
Well, me, finally, calmed down and rewatched the whole episode again.
The first thing is that this episode was splendid! I loved it all from first minute to the last once, basically was glued to the screen all the time.
I enjoyed the idea of space minds, because, firstly, it allows to see character deeper and feel their intention, fears and feelings through simple objects of reality, pictures, things. It also gave us a link to ‘Inception’ movie and pointed to Freudian concept of the unconscious. Besides, it also guides us to the Eric Burn theory that each person contains ‘child’, ‘adult’, ‘parent’ personality.
It was smart to use the rain as a metaphor of Clarke swings moods, chest with the code for her secret memory, also show us her dads video and Jasper glasses inside of it.
Her mind is constructed by series of locations. The reason behind is that Clarke really changed through all of her stages in life. Each one has its own meaning for her, as she grew from a young idealistic teenage girl to a grown woman, complicated and contradictory person. She became not only leader to her people, but also a parent figure. We could equate it to the thing of becoming a real mom to a child, who needs care and protection.
Clarke character this episode, her development was really thought through.
Lets try to analyze main locations.
First, we should compare how Clarkes personalities are connected with each stage of action. Second, we ll try to have a general concept of each mind space.
1.Spaceship
This place is where all Clarke memories lies, her story. I guess its just a hard drive to the whole computer, shortly her brain. There she is represented as ‘the princess on the spaceship’ and also as Wanheda, also as The Clarke ‘Madis mother’ ( Read it that way ‘child’, ‘adult’, ‘parent’) . These three parts of her personality show us the two parts of Clark, the peaceful one, rebelious one, guilty one. It’s her three sides, which are struggling to fight each other to prevail in behavior. She still has her child hopes. She still tries to be rigidity and consistency in her solutions. She now is accepting her responsibility, drowning in a blame for her decisions.
The Clarke on the spaceship is the Clarke, who believes that there is so much more than survival and fighting for life. She appears to be the most vulnerable one. Wanheda has the power of being more dark for the purpose of the survival and life. She is the dark side of Clarke who was formed by conditions of her living. Clarke from season 5 and 6 is Clarke who is trying find a peace for herself as a human, suffering inside from two sides of her world.
The lights and the colors in this mind space are truly melancholic and blue. I feel her depression and longing for sadness through this location. Clarke at the moment does not feel right at all, she is feeling down and she is losing hope.
2. The forest
Its totally the most dark place, therefore dark lights and night forest as the symbol of loss and deprivation. Its kinda blurry here too. The ruined throne of Lexa is her pain, which hides under the layers of self-control. There she loses her hope after fake memories of Bellamy. He is still that person, who has that strength and hope for her which she seeks. He is her last pillar of energy to survive and live, as the leader of her people. Because of him shes still trying.
‘You still have hope?”
‘Were still breathing’
But after the fake memories, she doesnt see any benefit to live as someone who can look for her people. Shes already dead, why bother?
3. The fighting pits and the Mountain weather.
Sharp and bright light. The fighting pits is another symbol of her guilt, though Bellamy forgave her, she coudnt do it herself. She didnt win her war with her demons. The BloodRena represent rage, anger for herself, crawled inside Clark. The Maya is the sigh of her moral system confused, her inner guilt for what she thought she would never have done as a child on Spacekru ship.
4. The home
The place where Clark feels most safe, focused and calm. Warm,
light colors and drawings not from her memories, bur from her feelings. The most significant drawings are Ebby, Madi and Bellamy. Its her family now. There she meets Monthy, there she finds her dad alive.
Its her heart in this home.
Her last hope is to live for Madi, as Monty reminds her. To be a mother to a child she raised. I mean, obviously, Madi is the last reason, why Monty as her mind protection appears. Monty was her friend, who truly figured that sometimes good and evil are twisted, and having burden of blood hands doesnt mean ure a bad person, but still means that its the best way to live and find peace.
There she is a ‘parent’.
Anyway, this Clark destination is to forgive herself and to start create something new through the ashes, to find something beside Madi, her people and Bellamy to live for. To heal and become more balanced.
Whats about Josephine?
Her line is connected to Clarke one, as their minds are tangled.
Let me say one thing, she is really hell of sociopath. I do not hate her as a character, but I do see the motivation of her behavior.
The thing is that in Josephine minds her father is the really important figure, affecting her the most through all stages of life. His voice is everywhere, in the library(her voice from childhood memories, calling him. reading letters). Through the door. He is shouting ‘The Sanctum is mine’. This pair could be compared to Odin and Hela relationship. Same spirit there.
Her brain structure is the library, completely rationalized and sorted. She doesnt feel mercy or regret, pity or happiness, pain or pleasure. She doesnt understand human emotions, as she is not able to comprehend them fully. By all sort, she is freaking genius(knows various language, deep in biology and science, gifted for art) but by the cost of her mental disorder. In her memories she adored herself so much that she could stop drawing her first body. She doesnt know what moral is. Its a blurry concept for her.
Her moral is to provide herself the immortality on all costs. She doesnt find it right or wrong to murder, to betray, to tortue. She doesnt care about anything but about herself. Not life of a newborn baby, her friends lover, her father could prevent her from achieving the goal. Its truly frighting and dreadful. She shouldn't be in the lead at all.
Read this to insure yourself that Jo is in fact sociapath https://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html.
And she knows that. Her hidden thing is the awareness on that. She doesnt accept it at all. She is savoring it, not trying to control or to restrict herself. Its caused by the trauma of guy who kills himself , but still not completely.
I also liked the referral to the predator behavior( dialogue of J and R, when they are haunting Clark), as the main concept of Lightbourne views.Besides, they regard science as the God for them, it means the complete refusal to moral question and ethics.
Josephin: I studied all species, insects are almost fascinated me the most,...ruthless. People theyre so messy, theyre too emotional.
Josephin: You, nulls, are more than worthless, you all don have positive value. You are less the useless. U delude the bloodlines...
So on.
From Clarks side theres a lot of talking whats right or what wrong, even with ALLIE. What defines God.
Its not a coincidence that she tells Monty about the God question, overshadowing Lightbournes things. About connection of moral and real life.
‘I dont want to decide for everyone, Just for myself’
Its a good thrust that through her mind projection of Monty she still thinks:
The end does not justify the means
Murder is still murder, whatever it brings after, peace or war.
She doesnt devalues the human life. Thats why Clarke is the best leader from the start. Her moral compass is always there to remind her that leadership should be based on clean hands, true intentions to help and grow, not in dark night, but in the light of a new day.
Clark also says: ‘Theres no joy without pain’.
For me, it sums up all of her personality. Meaning - to have something good, first sacrifice. To earn happiness you should feel the real anguish. But even after the pain, you are capable of finding hope and peace. Thats why she agrees to go with Monty and fight J.
That what differs Clark from Lightbourne.
She is still in a process of defining what decisions shed like to make, what person she should be. She senses and appreciates.
Lightbournes are in stagnation there.
The last few senconds
Bellamy is just the ‘heart’ all over the place. He is back to his natural statue.
That means head and the heart in work, which, I remind you, always the best.
Thanks for reading.
All the love :)

Heyyyyyyyy quin, im gonna rant at you for a bit, because im fucking done with this bullshit!!! So, as of right now, my father's plan is to force me to redo freshman year, wether i want to or not(surprise surprise! i don't) He concluded this after taking one look at my grades from this year(four ds, one two as, two bs. not what i would consider good but thats not the poINT HERE) His exact words were "you are redoing your 9th grade year. its just a question of when." 1/idontfuckingknow
(Gonna paste the rest of your asks here. Tw: suicide mention)
Now, i, having already had a slightly toned-down version of this bloody conversation with my mother, did not have the patience for this shit. The following argument goes aproxxamately as follows,(this is a paraphrased version) beginning with me: "No. No, i already had this fucking conversation, im not redoing a year." "What POSSIBLE ARGUMENT COULD YOU HAVE for me to think so??" silence. "Do you ASPIRE to be a waitress?? Maybe a hairdresser" nothing. It only gets worse frome here. 2/??
"How much EFFORT DID YOU PUT INTO FUCKING THIS UP??" Now, lets stop here for a moment. What the fuck is my father, the man who's jizz became me, trying to pull? Anyway, my response was bewildered at best and full on APPALLED AND ENRAGED at worst: "you think i fucking- what makes you- I PUT EFFOR- THATS THESTUPIDESTSHITVIE EVERFUCKINGHEARD!??!!!! WHAT makes you think i DID IT ON PURPOSE??????" "THIS- *waves my report card in my face, wildly* MAKES ME THINK YOU DID IT ON PURPOSE." 3/4maybe5or6idk
Now, ive been trying, oh have i been trying, to get it through this man's head FOR YEARS, that i would never get bad grades on purpose. That should be a given right??? Anyway, he waves the paper in my face, and i (justly) had tears in my eyes. This is the angriest ive seen my father, which is saying a fucking lot, and hes about 8 inches from me, looking me DEAD IN THE FACE. And I have tears in my eyes. I was terrified, and im pretty sure i looked terrified. But did he care? mmmnotreally! 4/???
Ok, im not sure what else exactly he said(other than, sprinkled in there, that I manipulated my mother[no,] and that i 'couldve not shown up to class and still wouldntve done this bad') but either way, he walked away, saying "You WILL NOt be a sophomore at [my school] next year. we arent doing this again." *john mulaney voice* now, we don't have time to unpack all of that, If my father didn't give a shit about me before, he definitely doesn't now. This just fucking confirms it for me. 5/6
Actually, let me rephrase. He, no, BOTH of my parents don't give a shit about my mental health. They care about my grades because, if they turn out good, this tells them theyve done something right. They only give a shit about me if it benefits them, in that way or otherwise. This is what I've figured out. Honestly, i think im gonna have to tell him that ill fucking kill myself if im forced to redo freshman year. At this point, its the only way to get it through his head. 6/fuckigottadoonemore
And, at this point, im not even sure that if i said that, I'd be lying. In fuCKING conclusion, my parents do not give a shit. They don't give A SHIT, about how much BEING HELD BACK, is gonna FUCKING AFFECT ME, THEY JUST WANT MY GRADES TO BE BETTER SO THEY CAN FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEM-FUCKING-SELVES. I'm done now.
_________________________________________________________
Wow, that sounds stressful as all hell... also your parents sound like mine. I can’t stand parents who put blame on their kid for their mental health or struggles. They don’t need the burden of thinking it’s their fault ON TOP OF the burden of actually dealing with that shit! Is it possible to talk to a counselor at school about not wanting to repeat the year? Those grades qualify you to move on, don’t they? I’d be as pissed as you if my dad tried to do that. It’s your education. My parents have screamed at me about grades many a time, and I FEEL your pain. The way they’re acting is unhealthy for you, and I’m so so sorry you have to go through it. Telling you your future has no potential unless you do what they say is manipulative bullshit.
"How much EFFORT DID YOU PUT INTO FUCKING THIS UP??" OH MY GOD if I had an ant for every time my parents said this to me I could make an ant colony strong enough to take over the world. It is NOT okay. Suggesting that your work is a failure in the first place is awful, but adding in that you did it on purpose is a terrible parenting excuse because they think it reflects on them. That shit will mess you up. I still struggle to remember that me having trouble with something doesn’t make it my fault. I used to believe them and blame myself for every break I took. Playing a video game? Could’ve been studying. Reading a book? Should have asked for extra credit. All of that is ridiculous and harmful to any kid or adult. Let’s get one thing clear: it is NOT. YOUR. FAULT. And another: grades are not a measurement of effort, intelligence, or worth. They’re structured poorly and the entire school system desperately needs revamping. Your future is not doomed regardless of your grades.
Your dad saying you “'couldve not shown up to class and still wouldntve done this bad'” is ABHORRENT. Telling you that you not trying at all is better than any efforts you make is just so profoundly fucked up, pardon my French. Also, completely wrong.
“BOTH of my parents don't give a shit about my mental health. They care about my grades because, if they turn out good, this tells them theyve done something right. They only give a shit about me if it benefits them, in that way or otherwise.“ My parents are the same way. They only care about whether something makes them look good or bad. You are NOT their trophy to show off as though your achievements are their own, and you are NOT some shameful thing for them to treat poorly. You are, always have been, and always will be, your own person.
I’m gonna use a quote from a show that hits me really hard and I feel that every child of awful parents needs to hear. “I’m... sorry. I’m sorry your parents don’t care enough. You have every right to be angry. But you deserve to be happy.” You have been through so much, and your anger is absolutely justified. And yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t be happy. You deserve better than anger. You deserve to be happy. “And I hope you can find that... even if it’s not today.”
“Honestly, i think im gonna have to tell him that ill fucking kill myself if im forced to redo freshman year. At this point, its the only way to get it through his head. And, at this point, im not even sure that if i said that, I'd be lying.” I have been there, so I’ll be 100% honest with you. If your parents are anything like mine -- and it sounds like they are -- telling them you’ll kill yourself still won’t get through to them. In fact, it might make them take you even less seriously if they see you using it as leverage. Kids of parents that don’t take mental health seriously often drive themselves further into depression as a cry for help (not by their own fault) that’s perpetuated by never being heard. I got worse and worse (tw suicide ment) and I told my parents I was having suicidal thoughts. They just saw it as lazy and selfish and overreacting. I spiraled deeper. Then, when I made an attempt, my mom was furious, screaming at me and threatening me because I could’ve messed up her gun. “If you really want to be dead, ask me and I’ll gladly do it for you. At least I know how to use a fucking gun right.”
I could go on with the rest of that story, but I’ll sum it up by saying: I got help. I got better. I realized that if they wouldn’t care about me, I would. I knew what I was feeling was real. I knew I needed help if I wanted to survive. And now, I’ve found real happiness and more stability. Mental health issues don’t go away easily, and I know it’s not the same for everyone, but working on them is so worth it. I promise it can get better. People like to think of happiness as a long-term thing, but life will always have its ups and downs... I still have down days. I won’t pretend I don’t still have a lot to work through. But I am, finally, okay. I never knew “okay” could be the default, or how okay life could be. And it’s amazing. Happy happens a lot more now, and depression is smaller and manageable. I know you’re stuck where you are for now, and may not have access to professional help. But please... Please care about yourself, even if your parents don’t. I care about you. You deserve to, too.
I’ve had so many moments that I felt were the last straw, that I couldn’t handle any more, that I was broken or ruined or doomed, but even then I somehow managed to survive. And I can honestly say I am so, so glad that I did. Please don’t let your parents ruin that for you. It’s not your fault for where you are. And it’s not where you’ll be forever. No matter what happens in this situation, whether it’s repeating the grade or moving on to the next, I believe that you can make it through. You are so fucking strong for making it this far. I know you might not believe me, but try to trust me. You. Deserve. Better. And even if it sucks right now, you absolutely can get there.

What Are The Basic Differences Between Democrats And Republicans
Tumblr media
Growing Share Of Americans Say There Are Major Differences In What The Parties Stand For
A majority of Americans say there is a great deal of difference in what the Republican and Democratic parties stand for, while 37% see a fair amount of difference and 7% say there is hardly any difference between the two parties.
These opinions have changed dramatically over the past three decades. From the late 1980s through the mid-2000s, no more than about a third of Americans said there were major differences between the two parties. But the share expressing this view has increased, especially over the past decade.
In the current survey, Republicans are more likely than Democrats to say there are major differences in what the parties stand for .
In both parties, people who are attentive to politics on a regular basis are more likely than those who are less attentive to see wide, growing divides in the country.
Most Republicans who say they follow what is happening in government and public affairs most of the time perceive a great deal of difference in what the Democratic and Republican parties stand for . Among Republicans who follow government and public affairs less often, a smaller majority says there are major differences between the parties. Among Democrats, there is a similar gap in views by engagement; 70% of politically attentive Democrats see a wide gulf between the parties, while just 49% of less-attentive Democrats say the same.
Democrat Vs Republican: Where Did The Parties Get Their Names
In the United States, the words Democrat and Republican are widely used to mean the two major American political parties: the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.
We often hear these words used to describe things the parties do or the people connected to them. For example, former Vice President Joe Biden is the Democratic candidate for president, and members of the Republican Party are often simply called Republicans.
The English words democratic and republicanactually have long, complex histories that go far beyond red and blue states or donkeys and elephants. Lets take a closer look at where these two words came from and how they came to be used in the names of the two political parties.
The Parties Act Differently Because They Are Different

This data only takes you so far. “Conservatism” is more than just a preference for small government. Democrats are only somewhat more likely to introduce new legislation than Republicans. As Grossmann told me in an interview, “these are differences in degrees that are based on a difference in kind between the party coalitions.”
But they’re a reminder that American politics is fundamentally rational. Republicans are uncompromising because compromise tends to expand the scope of government. Democrats are willing to make deep concessions because policy moves in a generally liberal direction. Republicans have a clearer message about government because their message about government is fundamentally popular. Democrats talk more about policy because what they have to say about policy is fundamentally popular.

The data also explains why Democratic and Republicans have so much trouble understanding each other. Democrats tend to project their preference for policymaking onto the Republican Party and then respond with anger and confusion when Republicans don’t seem interested in making a deal. Republicans tend to assume the Democratic Party is more ideological than it is, and so see various policy initiatives as part of an ideological effort to remake America along more socialistic lines.
Who Is A Democrat
A Democrat is someone who believes in the principles of a republic, thus, in the power of the majority. Unlike a Republican, who is conservative in his ideas, a Democrat is liberal in his ideas. A Democrat accepts the concept of a larger federal government People of all classes should be benefited by the various schemes of the government according to a Democrat. They should not be concerned more about individual interests. This means that a Democrat looks upon all classes of people as equal.
In short it can be said that a Republican believes that the people are adept at looking after themselves. A Democrat on the contrary firmly believes that the federal government alone is capable of bringing about equality.
Figure 02: Andrew Jackson, the First Democratic President of the United States
Furthermore, a Democrat supports government-sponsored programs. A Democrat is pro-choice in approach, As a result, a Democrat supports social policies at federal government level It is interesting to note that unlike the Republicans, Democrats support the view that the military budget should be decreased. These are the main differences between a Republican and a Democrat. Now let us summarize the difference as follows.
What Is The Democratic Party
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Democratic Party is the oldest and it originated from the anti-federalisms in the US during the independence from Great Britain.
The donkey symbol of the party was introduced by Andrew Jackson during his campaign in 1828.
The majority of the democrats are young voters and they are regarded to be liberal-minded. To date, the party has about 15 democrat presidents since its independence.
Trump Vs Clinton In Opinion Polls
Over the course of 2020, Biden’s lead over Trump in opinion polls has widened. A list of head-to-head match-ups for Clinton and Trump in opinion polls can be found on Wikipedia.
BBC’
RealClearPolitics also compiles an average of national polls, which mirrors the Wikipedia compilation above and shows Biden leading Trump consistently throughout 2020.
Another tracker of national sentiment is compiled by FiveThirtyEight.com. Their visualization also shows Biden has a lead of roughly 8 percentage points as of October 3, 2020.
It should be noted that opinion polls can paint a misleading picture. In 2016, these same models and averages showed Clinton leading Trump by 3 to 4 percentage points. And although Trump lost the popular vote, he did win the electoral vote and therefore the presidency.
The Party Thats Actually Best For The Economy
Many analyses look at which party is best for the economy. A study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found that Democratic presidents since World War II have performed much better than Republicans. On average, Democratic presidents grew the economy 4.4% each year versus 2.5% for Republicans.
A study by Princeton University economists Alan Blinder and Mark Watson found that the economy performs better when the president is a Democrat. They report that by many measures, the performance gap is startlingly large. Between Truman and Obama, growth was 1.8% higher under Democrats than Republicans.
A Hudson Institute study found that the six years with the best growth were evenly split between Republican and Democrat presidents.
Most of these evaluations measure growth during the presidents term in office. But no president has control over the growth added during his first year. The budget for that fiscal year was already set by the previous president, so you should compare the gross domestic product at the end of the presidents last budget to the end of his predecessors last budget.
For Obama, that would be the fiscal year from October 1, 2009, to September 30, 2018. Thats FY 2010 through FY 2017. During that time, GDP increased from $15.6 trillion to $17.7 trillion, or by 14%. Thats 1.7% a year.
The chart below ranks the presidents since 1929 on the average annual increase in GDP.

Where Do Trump And Biden Stand On Key Issues
Reuters: Brian Snyder/AP: Julio Cortez
The key issues grappling the country can be broken down into five main categories: coronavirus, health care, foreign policy, immigration and criminal justice.
This year, a big focus of the election has been the coronavirus pandemic, which could be a deciding factor in how people vote, as the country’s contentious healthcare system struggles to cope.
The average healthcare costs for COVID-19 treatment is up to $US30,000 , an Americas Health Insurance Plans 2020 study has found.
Red States And Blue States List
Due to the TV coverage during some of the presidential elections in the past, the color Red has become associated with the Republicans and Blue is associated with the Democrats.
The Democratic Party, once dominant in the Southeastern United States, is now strongest in the Northeast , Great Lakes Region, as well as along the Pacific Coast , including Hawaii. The Democrats are also strongest in major cities. Recently, Democratic candidates have been faring better in some southern states, such as Virginia, Arkansas, and Florida, and in the Rocky Mountain states, especially Colorado, Montana, Nevada, and New Mexico.
Since 1980, geographically the Republican “base” is strongest in the South and West, and weakest in the Northeast and the Pacific Coast. The Republican Party’s strongest focus of political influence lies in the Great Plains states, particularly Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska, and in the western states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah.
Difference Between Democrats Vs Republicans
The origins of the Democratic Party can trace back to the anti-federalist factions around the time of Americas independence. The factions were sectioned off into the Democrat-Republican parties. Founded in 1854, Republican Party, by activists in the fight for no more slavery. Republican philosophies lean more towards freedoms for individuals, rights, and responsibilities, whereas the Democrats lean towards equality and community and social influence.
One of the main differences between the two parties ideals. Democrats tend to lean more towards an active role for the government and believe that it can improve the nature of peoples lives and can achieve the greater goals of equality and opportunity. Republicans tend to need a smaller government in terms of the responsibilities and roles of government. The Democratic party discrimination-free laws and environmental regulations for work, whereas, the Republican party thinks such laws and rules threatening to job and business development because these laws have consequences that are unexpected.
Another difference is, Democrats, support abortion rights but Republicans believe abortions are illegal and immoral. Another difference between Democrats vs Republicans is in the limitations on government by the law. Both parties governments often use a representational system where the citizens vote to elect politicians to represent their form the government and interests.
The Philosophy Behind Republican Economic Policy
Republicans advocate supply-side economics that primarily benefits businesses and investors. This theory states that tax cuts on businesses allow them to hire more workers, in turn increasing demand and growth. In theory, the increased revenue from a stronger economy offsets the initial revenue loss over time.
Republicans advocate the right to pursue prosperity without government interference. They argue this is achieved by self-discipline, enterprise, saving, and investing.
Republicans business-friendly approach leads most people to believe that they are better for the economy. A closer look reveals that Democrats are, in many respects, actually better.
How To Explain The Difference Between Republicans And Democrats
Politics are confusing, even for adults. This years political cycle is even more confusing than most.  Anything that confuses and parents is sure to raise questions in children.
As the primaries roll on, many children are asking questions about the two major political parties and what all the arguing means.  This years political cycle is more emotionally charged than most.  Those emotions can make it difficult for parents to fairly explain political differences to children.  Goodness knows, as an avid sports fan, I could not objectively describe the rivalry between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.
The Philosophy Behind Democratic Economic Policy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Democrats gear their economic policies to benefit low-income and middle-income families. They argue that reducing income inequality is the best way to foster economic growth. Low-income families are more likely to spend any extra money on necessities instead of saving or investing it. That directly increases demand and spurs economic growth. Democrats also support a Keynesian economic theory, which says that the government should spend its way out of a recession.
One dollar spent on increased food stamp benefits generates $1.73 in economic output.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt first outlined the Economic Bill of Rights in his 1944 State of the Union address. It included taxes on war profiteering and price controls on food costs. President Harry Trumans 1949 Fair Deal proposed an increase in the minimum wage, civil rights legislation, and national health care. President Barack Obama expanded Medicaid with the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
Differences Between Democrat And Republican Checkout 2021 Update
ADS!
Difference between Democrat and Republican: Democrats and Republicans are the two most prominent political parties in the United States.
These two parties dominate Americas political landscape but differ greatly in their philosophies and ideals ranging from taxes, the role of government, Medicare, gun control, , healthcare, abortion, and more.
Democrats and Republicans remain the two historically largest parties, which hold the majority of the seats in the Senate and in the House of Representatives.
Democratsand Republicanshave opposing views and positions on several key issues, including economic, political, military, and social matters.
Policymaking Has A Liberal Bias
Democratic presidents talk more about policy, propose more specific policy ideas, and pass more significant pieces of legislation. The numbers are stark. Since 1945, Democratic presidents have put forward 39 percent more policy proposals than Republican presidents, and 62 percent more domestic policy proposals.
“There is a good reason for this asymmetry,” write Grossmann and Hopkins. “Democrats and liberals are more likely to focus on policymaking because any change that occurs is much more likely to be liberal than conservative. New policies usually expand the scope of government responsibility, funding, or regulation. There are occasional conservative policy successes as well, but they are less frequent and are usually accompanied by expansion of government responsibility in other areas.”
The chart above codes significant policy changes by whether they expand or contract the “scope of government regulation, funding, or responsibility.” Policy changes turned out to be more than three times as likely to expand the scope of government than to contract it. This is often true even when Republicans are signing the laws.
As such, gridlock is often the best small-government conservatives can hope for. And so they’re more comfortable with it than Democrats.
Main Difference Between Democrats And Republicans In Point Form
Democratic Party was founded in 1828 while the Republican Party in 1854
The Democratic Party has about 15 presidents while the Republican Party has about 19 presidents since independence
Republican Party voters are older generation while Democratic Party voters are the younger generation
The voters of Republicans are conservatives while democrats are liberal
The main color of republicans is red while that of democrats is blue
The party symbol of democrats is a donkey whereas that of republicans is an elephant
The Democrats party was founded on the basis of anti-federalism whereas republican party on the basis of anti-slavery and agent of modernity
The Democrats party has a larger membership subscription whereas republican has a lower membership subscription
Democrats applaud same-sex marriage whereas republicans condemn same-sex marriage
Democrats want the elderly medical program to be allowed while republicans reject suggestions of elderly medical care program
Views Of The Parties Traits And Characteristics
The Republican Party and the Democratic Party are both seen as too extreme by a majority of Americans. About six-in-ten say the phrase too extreme in its positions describes the Republican Party at least somewhat well, including 30% who say this describes the GOP very well. The share of Americans who say the same phrase applies to the Democratic Party is nearly identical: 61% say this applies at least somewhat, and 29% say it describes the party very well.
The public also is critical of the parties ability to govern honestly and ethically: Just 38% say the phrase governs in an honest and ethical way describes the Republican Party at least somewhat well, while 61% say it does not. Roughly half say this describes the Democratic Party at least somewhat well, while about as many say it doesnt.
The public views the Democratic Party more positively than the Republican Party on three other traits and characteristics. Four-in-ten say that the phrase represents the interests of people like me applies at least somewhat well to the Republican Party, while half say this phrase describes the Democratic Party at least somewhat well.
A majority says the description cares about the middle class describes the Democratic Party at least somewhat well. By comparison, 39% say that it applies to the Republican Party.
Large majorities of Republicans and Democrats assign positive characteristics to their own party, while taking a much more negative view of the opposing party.
What Is The Difference Between Republicans And Democrats
Republicans and Democrats are the two main and historically the largest political parties in the US and, after every election, hold the majority seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate as well as the highest number of Governors. Though both the parties mean well for the US citizens, they have distinct differences that manifest in their comments, decisions, and history. These differences are mainly ideological, political, social, and economic paths to making the US successful and the world a better place for all. Differences between the two parties that are covered in this article rely on the majority position though individual politicians may have varied preferences.
Regulating The Economy Democratic Style
The Democratic Party is generally considered more willing to intervene in the economy, subscribing to the belief that government power is needed to regulate businesses that ignore social interests in the pursuit of earning a return for shareholders. This intervention can come in the form of regulation or taxation to support social programs. Opponents often describe the Democratic approach to governing as “tax and spend.”
Democratic Candidate Joe Biden
Reuters: Carlos Barria
The Democrats are the liberal political party and their candidate is Joe Biden, who has run for president twice before.
A former senator for Delaware who served six terms, Biden is best known as Barack Obama’s vice-president.
He held that role for eight years, and it has helped make him a major contender for many Democrat supporters.
Earlier this year, Biden chose California Senator Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential running mate.
The 77-year-old has built his campaign on the Obama legacy, and tackling the country’s staggering health care issues.
He is known for his down-to-earth personality and his ability to connect with working-class voters. He would be the oldest first-term president in history if elected.
According to 2017 Pew Research Centre data, a vast majority of the African American population supports the Democratic party, with 88 per cent voting for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential elections.
Difference Between Democratic And Republican Party With Similarities

Democrats and Republicans are the two main political parties in the USA. Both parties hold the most of the seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives. They also obtain the maximum number of Governors. Although both parties mean well for US citizens, they have distinct differences. These difference between democratic and republican party are mainly in political, ideological, economic, and social pathways. However, we will try to cover the topic in this article.
Differences and Similarities between democratic and republican party are the main topics. We will know about the Republican Party and Democratic Party at first. Therefore, here is the basic concept of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party.

Nine Big Differences Between Republicans And Democrats
Copy Link
In the storm of political bickering, allegations and attack ads this election season, it’s easy to lose track of what the candidates and their political parties actually stand for. Many potential voters who’ve grown weary of the endless stream of negative campaigning may have the misconception that Barack Obama and the Democrats really aren’t all that different from Mitt Romney and the Republicans.
But take a quick look at the official 2012 platforms of the Democratic and Republican parties, and you’ll quickly some pretty extreme contrasts in philosophy on everything from taxes to abortion. In their national party platforms, the Democrats and Republicans have laid out a set of fundamentally different visions for America and the role its government should play in our lives.
On the public radio show This American Life, host Ira Glass notes the widening chasm between the two parties:
“Everyone knows that politics is now so divided in our country that not only do the two sides disagree on the solutions to the countrys problems, they dont even agree on what the problems are. Its two versions of the world in collision.”
Taken directly from the Republican and Democratic party Platforms, here are some of the widest divides on major issues that may impact you .
Democrats Are Under More Pressure From Interest Groups To Pass Policy
Another difference between the Democratic and Republican parties is that Democrats answer to more interest groups than Republicans.
Grossmann and Hopkins assemble studies showing that Democratic delegates at both national and state conventions report more organization memberships than Republican delegates, suggesting that Democratic conventions are the site of more organized interest group activity than Republican conventions. They also note a study showing that more interest groups make endorsements in Democratic primaries than in Republican primaries.
The graphic above is perhaps the most persuasive evidence of the density of the Democratic interest-group ecosystem: it connects interest groups that endorsed more than one of the same candidate or bill in the 2001-2002 Congress and the 2002 midterm election. So, if the AFL-CIO and the Sierra Club both endorsed Senator Mary Landrieu for reelection and they also both endorsed No Child Left Behind, they get a line. The more shared endorsements between two groups, the thicker the line connecting them; the more total connections any individual group has to other groups, the larger the circle they get.
there are more organized groups asking Democrats for policy than asking Republicans for policy
Histories Of The Parties
The Democratic party started in 1828 as anti-federalist sentiments began to form. The Republican party formed a few decades later, in 1854, with the formation of the party to stopping slavery, which they viewed to be unconstitutional.
The difference between a democrat and a republican has changed many, many times throughout history. Democrats used to be considered more conservative, while the republican party fought for more progressive ideas. These ideals have switched over time.
What Is A Republican Party
The Republican Party is the second oldest and it originated from anti-slavery ideologies and agents of modernity.
The first president to won with the party is Abraham Lincoln. The party was established in 1854 and the elephant is their symbol.
The majority of the republicans are older voters and they are regarded as conservative-minded. The party has about 19 republican presidents since independence.
Huge Difference Between Democrats And Republicans In Tabular Form
What is the core difference between democrats and republicans?
Democrats and Republicans are the two main political parties in the United States of America. The parties tend to hold major seats in the seat and house of representatives after every election.
The main difference between republicans and democrats is that republicans are conservatives and right-leaning whereas democrats are liberal and left-leaning.
Crime And Capital Punishment
Republicans generally believe in harsher penalties when someone has committed a crime, including for selling illegal drugs. They also generally favor capital punishment and back a system with many layers to ensure the proper punishment has been meted out. Democrats are more progressive in their views, believing that crimes do not involve violence, such as selling drugs, should have lighter penalties and rehabilitation. They are also against capital punishment in any form.
Heres A Breakdown Of Core Democratic Beliefs:
TAXES:  Democrats typically demand higher taxes on its citizens.  The Supreme Court r ruled that Obamacare was a tax for example.  Since this was Democratic legislation, Americans must now either get an Obamacare policy or pay a stiff penalty during tax time.  While there are some segments of the population who need help from the rest of its citizens, most do not.  The government should have addressed only that segment who couldnt afford health insurance.  It wouldve been much cheaper. President Trumps tax plan gave 2 to 4 thousand per year to families.  The Biden Harris Administration vowed on day one to revoke the tax cuts and increase taxes on the working, dying middle class. Having your tax exemption double was huge! Ivanka Trump helped to raise the childcare credit to 2K per child!!!! That is thousands in some homes that will go away according to Biden on DAY 1.

1.4%
A president would have better growth if he had no recession.
Tumblr media
Democratic Party was founded in 1828 while the Republican Party in 1854 The Democratic Party has about 15 presidents while the Republican Party has about 19 presidents since independence Republican Party voters are older generation while Democratic Party voters are the younger generation The voters of Republicans are conservatives while democrats are liberal The main color of republicans is red while that of democrats is blue The party symbol of democrats is a donkey whereas that of republicans is an elephant The Democrats party was founded on the basis of anti-federalism whereas republican party on the basis of anti-slavery and agent of modernity The Democrats party has a larger membership subscription whereas republican has a lower membership subscription Democrats applaud same-sex marriage whereas republicans condemn same-sex marriage Democrats want the elderly medical program to be allowed while republicans reject suggestions of elderly medical care program

Dragometry Circa 1979 ~ Hobnob
Tumblr media
AN: Ive been doing very successful things in 6th form and I’m a very successful student. As such i dropped english lit and took art instead. my passion for writing left me, but came back when i was looking at my dog sleep. He looked soft and i thought if he can do it, so can i. My friend mentioned in art how she ate a shroom once, and she forgot who she was for a bit and had a panic attack. I thought that sounded wicked and I wanted to embody that in this fic. Thanks Sarah

Chi Chi dipped her hands in her pockets and turned them inside out. Alas, there was no cash to be found. Only some dead flies and a used condom.
Just her luck. She had no way of paying the rent and it was due in tomorrow! She continued to walk down the streets of Camden disappointedly.
Just then her train of thought was broken by the local newsboy.
“Extra extra! Read all about it! Daily mail halfa shilling!” Little Bendela yelled in his school uniform.
Chi Chi approached him but in a non predatory way because she didn’t mess around with little kids like that.
“What’s in the news today little boy?” She asked, spitting on the floor.
“Im 26 ma'am” He answered in a cockney tone, his little red cheeks growing hot with rage.
“You’ll use no such tone with me boy!” Chi Chi said slapping the twat. “I’ll have a paper please.”
Little boy Bendelacreme sobbed and handed over the paper. Chi Chi opened it up and could barely believe what she was seeing.
“Blimey! A battle of the bands today with a cash prize of 100,000 quid!!” She exclaimed dropping into a perfect split in joy.
“Oo aye right you are mista! Down at the old theatre where all those donkeys were found!” Bendela added.
An idea formed in Chi Chi’s mind. The amount of rent she had to pay happened to be exactly 100,000 pounds conveniently enough.
“You know what? I’m going to enter!”
Ben began bursting into laughter as his little round face lit up with glee. “Oho thats a gaff if i ever did hear one! Everyone knows ur tone deaf miss Devayne, ever since you exploded that donkey.” He chuckled, wiping away a salty tear.
“Shut the fuck up.” Chi Chi said, slapping the cunt again to put him in his place. “You’ll speak when told to boy.”
“Even if you wanted to enta miss Devayne, yous need three or more band members. You know, like the Beatles and such.” Ben said whilst on the floor in agony clasping his face.
“Three or more members hm?” She said, scratching her stubble. “Fancy joining my band?”
“No can do, i gots to sell all these papers or my mum won’t let me in the house. Good luck miss.” He responded, already halfway down the street in fear of getting another beating. Silly silly little boy.
“UR MUMS A FILTHY SKETT GET BACK HERE.” Chi Chi shouted at him as he ran. It was no use. He was gone faster than Lance Armstrong on steroids.
Even Bendelacreme being a little batty crease couldn’t dampen her mood at this point. She was ready to win that battle of the bands with a total bop of a song.
She would create the next Oasis, the next Blur, the next Smashmouth.
But first she needed bandmates…
Just then she spotted Britney Spears vouging down the street looking like a complete plebb. It was better than nothing.
“Oi Britney! Yeah get over here!”
“My names Derrick” the blonde said, making her way over.
“Want to be in my band?”
“Lol Sure”
Disgusting. She was perfect. She wasn’t visibly on any heroin, and had shopping bags from tesco, so she wasn’t on benefits either.
“Sick, you’re going to play synth.”
“Like fuck i am.” Derrick said, embroiled with rage. “I was classically trained on the guitar.”
Chi Chi raised her mighty hand in slapping formation to Derrick. She needed to be taught some manners.
“YOULL PLAY syNTH WANKSTAIN.”
Derrick nodded before snatching the paper for herself. There it was. Right next to the article about the Piers Morgan donkey scandal. In big bold comic sans spelt ‘Battle of the bands.’
“Fat chance of us entering with two members.” Derrick roared.
“I’m working on it ffs get off my back.” Chi Chi screamed.
Just then she felt her tummy rumble. It was a deep and low rumble, akin to that of a barking dog, or even perhaps even a bin lorry driving by in the early hours of the morning.
Yes, Chi cHi was hungry. But she didn’t have any money. She spent her last paycheck on a lotto ticket.
“Let’s discuss this over a hearty Nando’s shall we?” she said, slapping Derrick on her manly toned back. “You’re paying.”
Derrick threw the paper to the floor. “I can’t pay. I spent all my money on Xanax and Tesco’s. All i got is a quid.”
She was right. A quid isn’t Nando’s money. Its Pick and Mix money at best. She’d just have to think of something fast.
“Lets beg like in oliver twist.” Chi Chi suggested. Derrick seemed to agree, but maybe that was because she threatened to beat her up earlier.
Just then Chi Chi set her eyes on someone walking down the street. Quick as a monkeynut with a jackhammer she made her way over to the individual and held out her hands.
“Please sir, can i ave’ some more?” Chi Chi said sadly, some eye infection goo coming out of her eyes instead of tears.
The individual looked confused for a moment, then got a ladle of porridge from her handbag and dropped it wetly into her hands.
“What the fuck it this. I didn’t want porridge did i, I wanted some money or something.”
“Oh sorry lol” the stranger offered taking back the porridge for later. “I don’t own any money at the moment. Teresa May and all.”
Chi Chi nodded agreeingly. “In that case do you want to join our band?”
The stranger nodded and sealed the deal with a wicked fistbump.
“My names Naysha Lopez. Synth extrordanair.”
“Your going to be on synth.”
“Well yes i just said-”
Chi Chi slapped her hard in the face in a fit of fury. Her word was law. She was the big dog.
“Aight we’re ready to rock. Let’s go back to my place.”
Derrick and Naysha nodded, getting into her 2003 Volkswagen that Chi Chi won in a game of chess.
The van was full of hippy shit. Fuckugly tie dye shirts, 42 vinyl albums of the Stone Roses, and a massive bong full of old weedwater.
“First we need to get our looks right.” Derrick suggested, taking out a large pair of scissors and hacking at her hair.
“And what we’re going to play.” Naysha added, beating out a mad eurobeat synth solo.
“Lads.” Chi Chi stopped them both, raising her hands. “Its not about how you look or sound.” She said sincerely, patting Derrick on the shoulder. “It’s about how much acid you take.”
She took out a small plastic bag with three tabs of acid, passing them out. They each popped the paper on their tongues and felt it dissolve.
“Alright now we’ve done that we should really figure out what we’re going to play.” Naysha said, picking the synth back up.
“How about we theme the song around the hardships of love.” Derrick said, sitting on a beanbag surrounded by her own hair.
“We-lets…lets wait like…half an hour. you’ll have better ideas.” Chi Chi added, taking a massive rip out of the dirty bong.
Half an hour later after hotboxing the camper van Chi Chi looked at her Casio sports watch.
“Oh dude the battle of the bands is in half an hour.”
“Shiit” Derrick said, her jaw hanging slack. “So what about if we came out on the stage in-in like picture this. We come out in geometrical shape costumes.”
“Yeah like Dragometry.” Naysha added, unable to move her head.
“Oh yeah meta..” Derrick nodded, writing it down, except the pen she was using was a cheese string and there was no paper.
“I have some old Capri Sun multi pack boxes in the back, let’s go out completely naked covered in those.” Chi Chi said, snapping her fingers.
Everyone clapped for the sheer excellence of that very notion. Around ten minutes later they were all naked and covered in Capri Sun boxes.
“Oh man.” Derrick said poking Nayshas body that was now unconscious on the floor. “Nayshas passed out and the battle of the bands is in like 20 minutes.”
“Yeah just like…” Chi Chi rubbed her finger over Derricks mouth in a shushing motion. “Just like i saw in um…nature shows, you pour water in their mouths and they’re fine…so…”
Derrick nodded taking a half empty Capri Sun and pouring it into Nayshas mouth. It began to bubble as Naysha hacked and coughed it out.
“Aaah there she is. Party animal.” Chi Chi laughed. “Alright let’s write a song.”
“I was thinking, we sing about the shapes we are, and sing about societal struggles and riots in london and an unfair corrupt justice system.” Naysha said swallowing the gargled Capri Sun and getting off the floor.
“I’m liking the first bit, like shapes and shit.” Chi Chi said, igniting the engine of the car and speeding away. “Were probably ready i think lets go perform.”
“You just hit a little boy selling papers back there.”
“Nah dude ur tripping.” Chin Chin said turning on the windshield whispers to get the blood off.
When they finally arrived after driving down the A38 the battle of the bands was underway. The entrance was bustling with people eager to see the peformances.
As the trio made their way through the crowd they got some funny looks, but maybe because they were wearing cardboard boxes and were sticky from Capri Sun juice.
Once they got to the bouncer he stopped them from getting through with a grunt.
“Oi leds, restricted area, bands only.” He said in a thick nothern tone.
“Oh? Haven’t you heard?” Chi Chi spoke confidently, her eyes facing different directions due to all the acid. “We’re the new band on the block!”
The bouncer simply shook his head.
“Oive never seen yous before. Whatre you’re names?”
They all pondered for a second before Naysha snapped her fingers.
“We’re Dragometry, the geometric power trio unsatisfied with social injustice.” She said proudly burping halfway through her sentence.
The bouncer looked stunned for a moment before nodding. “Meta…” he said letting them all through.
When they got inside they could scope out the competition. It seems the entirety of Camdens music scene had gathered to win that 100,000 quid.
As they made their way inwards they were stopped by a group of angry looking new yorkers.
“Oh looky here lads, what do we gots.” One of them said, cracking their knuckles.
“Looks likea buncha whimps to me!” Another one said snickering.
Naysha burst out in tears. Chi Chi had to do something for the credibility of her band!
“We’re only the greatest musicians since Cher Loyd.” She retorted with her quick drug induced whit. “Who are you?”
The three new Yorkers struck a dynamic pose and exclaimed in unison.
“We are Street Meats! Betty, Bob and Thorgy!!!”
“Gay.” Derrick said, picking some broccoli out of her teeth.
“Alright well, later lads.” Chi Chi said, pushing past the entitled fuckers. Bloody Americans.
“Not so fast!!” Bob said, grabbing her by the shoulders. “This is our turf, see? And we don’t take too kindly to people trying to get our 100,00 dollars!”
“Fuck i left the engine on.” Chi Chi said, turning to Naysha.
“We have a little bet to propose.” Thorgy said, taking out a hostage from her guitar case. “Win and we’ll leave forever. Loose…and we’ll kill this hostage.”
Derrick poked the hostage in the belly and scratched her stubble in consideration.
“Mmmmmm” She said, thinking hard. “…N-…..n…..hmmmmm. No.”
“Oh?” Acid betty said chuckling manically. “Did we forget to mention the hostage happens to be…THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND?”
“SHIIIT” Chi Chi bawled, sobbing into her hands.
“C-challenge accepted.” Naysha said, her eyes beginning to well up. “Don’t worry your majesty…we’ll get you out of this…” she said holding the queens wrinkled hands.
“Oi thanks lads.” The queen responded. Adjusting the crown on her head.
Just like that Thorgy stuffed her back in his guitar case and threw it into the coat room.
“Good luck ladies.” Bob chuckled, fist bumping Acid Betty as they walked away.
Things had just gotten serious. Now the common wealth was in their hands. Chi Chi felt sick.
“What are we going to do?” Derrick cried. His hands were shaking.
She took a deep breath and stood up straight, adjusting her cardboard box.
“I’ll tell you exactly what we’re going to do. We’re going to win this fucking battle of the bands, and then we’re going to be knighted by the queen of England, thats what we’re going to do.” Chi Chi said in a confident voice.
With newfound confidence the trio patted each-other on their naked sweaty backs. The first band had just begun to play. Les Chicken Wings they called themselves.
They were pretty sick ngl. A bit like The Clash but with cross dressers.
“BUY OUR VYNIL IN THE BACK.” The lead vocalist screamed once the band finished up. Chi Chi turned around and there stood Little boy Bendelacreme selling vinyls!
“Oh shit what happened to you.” She asked, grimacing at his horribly mangled body.
“I was left disfigured when you ran me over earlier. Would you like to buy a vinyl?” He said, holding out a disk in his bloodied hands.
Chi Chi flicked a shilling in his direction and took one.
“Lighten up miss Chi Chi! You look awful nervous.”
“I suppose you could say that.” She admitted, looking at the floor and shuffling her feet.
“Wotts wrong?”
“Well i managed to get a band together but instead of practicing we went back to my van and took acid so now we’re wearing cardboard boxes and we don’t have a song to perform, and if we fuck up the queen of England dies.”
“Hmmm, i think i saw this on an episode of friends once!” Ben said cheerily, his broken bones making a crunching noise as he smiled. “Joey told Chandler to believe in himself, and everything turned out aight.”
Chi Chi nodded. “Yeah.” She said under her breath.
She just needed to believe in herself. She had the music in her. If she didn’t give up she’d win the battle of the bands for sure.
“Thats right Chi Chi, believe in yourself.” A mystery voice said. She looked up.
Bloody hell! It was the Beatles! Here to perform for the whole of Camden!
“John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, What are you doing here?” She said excitedly.
“We’re here to tell you to never give up.” John said in a liverpoolian accent.
“Yeah, you can do it.” Ringo said, smiling.
“Thanks the Beatles! I won’t let you down!”
“Yeah, its like we say in Yellow Submarine, “Rah, rah, ah, ah, ah, roma, roma, ma. Gaga, ooh, la, la… want your bad romance.” Paul added, patting Chi Chi on the shoulder.
“Now go out there and sing! Sing like the commonwealth depends on it!” George said inspiringly.
Chi Chi was ready. She heard somebody call them to the stage. Grabbing her synth she felt her fingers trembling.
Showtime.
She looked at her bandmates.
Derrick was holding the synth upside down.
Nayshas costume had fallen off do she was completely naked.
They were ready.
They each played the opening chords and leaned into the microphones.
“We are the girls of Dragometry. All shapes and sizes are what we bring” Each of them sang in harmony, feeling the rhythm and LSD run through their veins.
“Rectangle girls of the world” they yelled, feeling their metaphorical oats.
“Around every girl, in a circle I run You can be square, hon, but don’t be a nun” Naysha said into the mic, shining like the star she was.
“We just wanna celebrate. No matter the size, no matter the shape!”
The rest of the performance went pretty stellar in Chi Chis opinion. She came up with a particularly good line about being a bumblebee, and Derrick was bopping out like it was nobodies business.
The performance concluded.
Silence filled the room.
There was a moments pause as the audience was stunned. It was as if the spirit of Freddy Mercury had possessed them all on stage and caused them to create the single most amazing tune in the world.
“You guys suck wang!!” A member of the audience shouted, as the crowd began to boo.
What?
The booing continued. How could that be? They created a total bop!
“Hey look! Their music killed John Lennon!” Another audience member yelled.
Chi Chi looked over to a very dead John foaming at the mouth twitching on the floor.
“They killed a member of the Beatles. Kill them! Blood for blood!!!” The crowd yelled, throwing empty bottles at Kopparberg at the trio.
They dodged the bottles and swiftly ran backstage and sighed together.
“I don’t get it. I thought that went well.” Chi Chi said sadly, throwing her cardboard box to the ground in defeat.
“I thought my stepford wife line was sick.” Derrick said sadly.
“I did too! And that circle thing Naysha said was totally tubular.” Chi Chi agreed.
They all sat down on the floor waiting for their inevitable demise. The audience would find a way backstage and shank them all to death for sure. Plus the Queen of England was probably going to die, and they lost the bet against Street Meats.
Soon enough they all heard banging on the door and angry yells. This was the end.
“It was good doing acid with the two of you.” Chi Chi said, holding both their hands.
“Yeah, thanks for seeing past the fact i look like Britney spears.” Derrick replied, squeezing her hand.
“And thanks for saving me earlier when i was passed out.” Naysha smiled sadly, still fully naked.
They all sat together and accepted their fate.
Just before they were mobbed by angry fans, a woman appeared in front of them.
Jesus! It was Debby Harry!
“Hey buckos” she said lighting a ciggy.
“Blondie? What are you doing here?” Chi Chi gasped, standing up in shock.
“I’m here to tell you to never give up fuckheads. That performance out there was absolutely shocking, but you still have a chance at saving the Queen.”
They all looked at their feet sadly.
“It’s no use world famous singer Debby Harry, if we go out there, we’ll be killed.” Naysha cried, wiping away some eye infection goo.
Debby slapped her hard in the face.
“You know. I used to go out on stage off my tits on LSD, stumbling around, saying nonsense about bumblebees. But i never gave up. Soon i moved on to singing about hearts of glass and it was lit. Everybody loved it.” Debby said with wisdom and a knowing look.
“Get out there and give them an encore they’ll never bloody forget!!”
Filled with newfound confidence the trio cheered and high fived. Blondie had given them the courage to go back out there.
They got back on stage and Chi Chi grabbed a mic.
“There they are!!” An angry hipster yelled.
“Kill them!” Another roared.
“Wait wait.” Chi Chi hushed them, raising her hands. “You see those people over there?” She continued, pointing over to Street Meats who were leaning against the wall eating mini sausage rolls.
“They have the Queen of England in their guitar case!!” Naysha said as Street Meats started to look panicked. “They said they would kill her if we didn’t win!”
The crowds attention turned from Dragometry to Bob Acid and Thorgy. They circled the guitar case slowly.
“Look- we can explain.” Bob began, backing away.
But it was too late. They unzipped the case and the Queen fell out. She got up and looked around.
“Wait a minute…” an audience member said, leaning in to examine her face. “This isn’t the Queen!!!”
Muttering and mumbles erupted in the room as somebody moved forward and pulled off the queens wig and crown.
“Jesus christ!! It’s Bono!!”
Bono escaped through the door like a startled deer into the woods. Fuck.
“Nobody cares about Bono. GET DRAGOMETRY!!”
Another bottle was thrown at Chi Chi, then another. The last thing she remembered was Paul McCartney hitting her directly in the forehead with a bottle of Carling.
Then complete blackness.
-
A few hours pass.
She feels comfort under her heavy body.
And a sharp pain in her forehead.
As Chi Chi opens her eyes she’s greeted to Little boy Bendelacreme in a well lit room with white walls.
“Ben??” She says weakly. “Where am i?”
“Ayup miss Devayne! Your in hospital. Bottle got you in the head i say. Right in the noggin.”
Chi Chi was confused. She turned her head and saw the three remaining Beatles standing over her bed looking apologetic.
“Yeah, sorry Chi Chi, we shouldn’t of lashed out like that.” Ringo said, his massive nose drooping with sadness.
“But i killed John.” Chi Chi said sadly.
“Nah, it was a drug overdose. Nothing to do with you at all!”
They all laughed together in unison. What a funny coincidence!
But Chi Chi couldn’t hear the laugh of her two best friends, Derrick and Naysha. She frowned again, rubbing her forehead. She feared the worst
“Where are my bandmates?” She asked, almost scared to get a response.
Bendelacreme took of his hat and held it to his chest, looking down to the floor.
“No idea I’m afraid.” George admitted, shrugging his shoulders. “Maybe they…managed to escape.”
Chi Chi liked that idea…but no. Her friends were gone. Probably trampled to death. She felt a great gap in her heart where her two best friends in the world used to be.
But for now, she was just grateful to be alive in a warm hospital bed, knowing that the Queen of England was completely safe.
She remembered what Naysha said at the end of their number.
Thank you, thank you.
Be different.

If The Us Adopts The Gops Health
Despite campaign promises, Senate Republicans fail to pass new health care bill

The fundamental thing to understand about Senate Republicans latestattempt to repeal Obamacare is that the bill under consideration wouldnot just undo the Affordable Care Actit would also end Medicaid as weknow it and our federal governments half-century commitment to closingthe countrys yawning gaps in health coverage. And it would do sowithout putting in place any credible resources or policies to replacethe system it is overturning. If our country enacts this bill, it would be an act of mass suicide.
The Republican bill currently being rushed to a vote was put forward bya group of senators led by Lindsey Graham, of South Carolina, and BillCassidy, of Louisiana. As has become the apparent rule for Republicanhealth-care bills, there have been no hearings or committee reviews ofthe Graham-Cassidy bill. And, this time, lawmakers and the public do noteven have a Congressional Budget Office analysis of the effects the billwould have on the budget, insurance costs, or the uninsured rate.
The Senate Rejected Five Different Obamacare Replacement Bills Not Just One
Its important to remember that the Senate did not just reject one health care bill during this process. It rejected, depending on how you count, three, four, or maybe even five.
There was the American Health Care Act, which passed the House but was considered dead on arrival in the Senate.
There was the original version of Majority Leader Mitch McConnells Better Care Reconciliation Act, which would have failed on the floor and so was yanked back for revisions.
There was the Ted Cruz-ified version of the Better Care Reconciliation Act, which gutted insurance regulations and was defeated in a 43-57 vote.
There was the Obamacare Repeal and Reconciliation Act, which would have repealed Obamacare without specifying a replacement, and which failed 45-55 on the floor.
And then there was skinny repeal the Health Care Freedom Act, which would have repealed the individual mandate but left the Medicaid expansion. Last night, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, John McCain, and every Senate Democrat sent the bill to a 49-51 defeat. But that likely overstates the bills support, given that many of the Republicans who voted for it only did so under the assumption that they would move to negotiations with the House and nothing like the HCFA would ever become law.
Why Did The Republicans Block The Bill
They blocked the bill for the same reasons they always do. They have had the House and Senate for some time and are yet to support our veterans with the spending really required.
Most Republicans said it was too large, too costly and would burden a Department of Veterans Affairs already struggling to keep up with promised benefits.
Sen Bernie Sanders, the Vermont independent and chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee who authored the bill, argued that many provisions in the bill have won bipartisan support in other pieces of pending legislation before Congress.
Republicans complained about how to pay for it. Sanders’ legislation had more than 140 provisions costing $21 billion over 10 years.

What The Aca Means For You
The Affordable Care Act is perhaps the greatest overhaul ofthe US health-care system, and it will provide coverage for over 94% ofAmericans. In addition, one of its key reforms includes health coverage for adultswith pre-existing conditions, which generally had not been available up untilnow.
These great changes in health-care insurance can benefit you and your loved ones. However, it is still essential to find the best plans at the best price to ensure your family is properly covered.

But Wouldnt People Still Get Help To Buy Insurance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes and that was one of the reasons the health plan was always going to be difficult for a broad base of Republicans to support. Giving Americans tax credits to buy health insurance looked to conservatives too much like Obamacare, while huge overhauls to Medicaid public health insurance for the poor left moderate Republicans worried about constituents who depend on those services.
Further, Republicans last-minute amendments actually increased the price tag of their bill, without insuring more Americans. A Congressional Budget Office analysis found that the changes still left 24 million Americans without insurance and reduced savings over the next decade, from $337bn in the first draft, to just $150bn.

Moving Down The Agenda
After the original bills failure, both Trump and McConnell wanted the Senate to vote on a bill to completely repeal the Affordable Care Act after a two-year delay. This gambit was essentially Republican leadership playing chicken in two ways.
First, leadership dared rank-and-file Republicans to vote against a repeal bill because most Republicans campaigned on the premise that the ACA should be repealed. However, doing so could potentially create chaos in the health care market.
Second, if Congress failed to pass a replacement health care bill within the next two years, chaos would ensue. Congress often gives itself such incentives in order to promote compromise. The major problem with this tactic is that Republican leadership would still have to find a way to placate both moderates and extreme conservatives, and potentially Democrats as well. While legislative compromise used to be a regular occurrence, it is becoming rarer in recent times due to increased polarization. Legislative productivity is near an all-time low.
In order to repeal and replace Obamacare, Republicans needed to strike a deal that pleased both moderates and conservatives. It seems unlikely that such a deal exists.
So Will There Definitely Be A Vote This Week On The Graham
Its looking less and less likely.
Last week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said a vote would be held this week, and over the weekend White House officials said they expected one on Wednesday.
But Monday, amid dimming prospects, McConnell would not commit to a vote. He is not likely to want to endure another embarrassing failure on the Senate floor, so he may not call a vote unless hes sure he has the support. Thats unlikely with three Republicans now opposed to the bill.

“They’re not even doing it for the party,” he said as he stood flanked by Republican leadership and rank and file in the Rose Garden. “They’re doing it for this country because we suffered with Obamacare.”
Ryan took to the floor ahead of the vote to argue that Obamacare was failing. “We can continue with the status quo or we can put this collapsing law behind us and end this failed experiment,” he said.

Still, the bill’s passage was arduous. Republicans had been working to piece together a GOP-only coalition of votes ever since their attempt to repeal and replace much of the Affordable Care Act failed nearly two months ago
The measure barely made it through, with 20 Republicans splitting with their own party to vote against the bill.
Of the dissenting Republicans, nine represent districts that voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016. An additional four lawmakers reside in districts that only narrowly voted for Trump, making them top targets for Democrats seeking to unseat them in next years midterms.
Republicans erupted in cheers when the measure passed, and Democrats erupted in song, singing “na, na, na, na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye,” alluding to their political futures after the vote.
Four Senators And A Bill One Year In The Making
House Passes GOP Health Care Bill
While Republicans had worked on various proposals to overhaul the tax code for decades, Republican senators began strategizing their latest attempt to reform the tax code not long after Trump stunned the country and won the White House. Republicans had a President ready and willing to sign a bill if they could manage to send him one.
According to a source familiar with the tax negotiations, as far back as December 2016, a small group of Republican senators all on the Senate Finance Committee and guided by Chairman Orrin Hatch and his staff began hashing out the Senates course.
The group included Sens. Rob Portman, formally the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Sen. John Thune, a member of the GOP leadership, Pat Toomey, a fiscal conservative and a member of the Senates Budget Committee and Sen. Tim Scott, a rising conservative star in the party. Over the next several months, the senators held what the source said must have been hundreds of meetings as they sought to find a way forward not only among fellow senators but in cooperation with the House of Representatives and Trump who lawmakers widely acknowledge was more engaged and interested in tax reform than he had been on health care.
Theres been an enormous amount of work done. The reason you see everybody looking so tired is because we are, said Sen. John Kennedy, a Louisiana Republican. They did a great job of keeping us apprised so we wouldnt be surprised.

If Dynamic Scoring Is Good For Tax Cuts Why Not For Our Veterans
Republicans do not generally mind using clever accounting methods like dynamic scoring to justify ‘budget friendly’ tax cuts. However, to support the veteran, they refuse to accept plausible funding.
Most of that money was to come from billions of dollars the government projected it would be allowed to spend on wars overseas in the fight against al-Qaeda.But Republicans argued that this is “phony” budgeting because U.S. participation in the Iraq War is over and operations in Afghanistan are winding down.
Attempts To Change Or Repeal
Read Ballotpedia’s fact check »
The Affordable Care Act was subject to a number of lawsuits challenging some of its provisions, such as the individual mandate and the requirement to cover contraception. Four of these lawsuits were heard by the United States Supreme Court, resulting in changes to the law and how it was enforced. In addition, since the law’s enactment, lawmakers in Congress have introduced and considered legislation to modify or repeal parts or all of the Affordable Care Act. Finally, between 2010 and 2012, voters in eight states considered ballot measures related to the law. This section summarizes the lawsuits, legislation, and state ballot measures that attempted to change, repeal, or impact enforcement of parts of the law.

President Donald Trump’s top legislative priority was dealt a potentially fatal blow Monday night as two more Republican senators announced their opposition to the party’s health care overhaul.
Trump quickly called on Republicans to simply repeal Obamacare and begin work on a new health care plan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced he would try to do so.
Regretfully, it is now apparent that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful,” McConnell said.
The Kentucky Republican said he planned to hold a vote in the coming days to take up the House-passed bill to replace the 2010 health care law and then call up an amendment to eliminate major parts of Obamacare, such as the Medicaid expansion, insurance subsidies and fines for the employer and individual mandates.
Republicans passed a similar bill to effectively repeal Obamacare in 2015 under reconciliation the fast-track budget procedure the GOP is using to thwart a Democratic filibuster but it was vetoed by President Barack Obama.
“Republicans should just ‘REPEAL’ failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!” Trump tweeted shortly before McConnell’s statement came out.

Partisan approval with one vote to spare sends American Health Care Act to uncertain fate in Senate, after negotiations reveal cracks in Republican party
First published on Thu 4 May 2017 19.20 BST
House Republicans narrowly approved a controversial plan to dismantle the Affordable Care Act on Thursday, taking a significant first step toward fulfilling a seven-year promise to repeal and replace the 2010 law that served as a landmark overhaul of the US healthcare system.
Republicans passed the American Health Care Act with one vote to spare, following a dramatic series of negotiations that exposed deep fissures between the partys moderate and conservative wings over how to replace Barack Obamas signature legislative accomplishment.
The bill passed 217 to 213, with 20 Republicans voting against and no Democrats voting in favor. Republicans burst into applause when the bill passed the 216-vote threshold, a feat that had seemed insurmountable just days before.
Democrats too saw a reason for celebrating. After it passed, they sang the 60s hit Na Na Hey Hey appearing to suggest Republicans would lose their seats if the repeal proved unpopular.
The bill now moves to the Senate, where it is expected to face serious difficulties.
What a great group of people, Trump said, referring to the Republican congressmen, and theyre not even doing it for the party, theyre doing it for this country because we suffered with Obamacare.

They Underestimated How Ideologically Varied Their Party Has Become
Republican leaders have been grappling for years with a growing bloc of principled conservatives who are politically rewarded in their conservative districts for not compromising.
But it feels as if they;were caught off guard by an equally influential, somewhat larger and just as intransigent faction of moderates.
Those moderates campaigned on repealing Obamacare, but when it came;time to pull the lever that would take away health care for hundreds of thousands of their constituents, they just couldn’t;politically do it.
As for Thursday’s late-night vote in the Senate, conservatives had made peace with just getting rid of Obamacare’s individual mandate, but two moderates, Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski , along with Sen. John McCain , sunk that proposal early Friday morning.)
Now, this group seems to be suggesting it would be better to work within the existing structures of Obamacare than take its benefits away.
In a no-holds-barred speech on the Senate floor earlier this week, McCain ripped apart Republicans’ repeal strategy: “Weve tried to do this by coming up with a proposal behind closed doors in consultation with the administration, then springing it on skeptical members, trying to convince them its better than nothing, asking us to swallow our doubts and force it past a unified opposition. I dont think that is going to work in the end. And it probably shouldnt.”
Why The Health Care Bill Passed The House This Time
The House passed a new version of a health care bill to replace the Affordable Care Act after the first one failed to get enough Republican support in March. The bill still needs to pass the Senate before becoming law.
By Thomas Kaplan and Robert Pear
May 4, 2017
WASHINGTON The House on Thursday narrowly approved legislation to repeal and replace major parts of the Affordable Care Act, as Republicans recovered from their earlier failures and moved a step closer to delivering on their promise to reshape American health care without mandated insurance coverage.
The vote, 217 to 213, held on President Trumps 105th day in office, is a significant step on what could be a long legislative road. Twenty Republicans bolted from their leadership to vote no. But the win keeps alive the partys dream of unwinding President Barack Obamas signature domestic achievement.
The House measure faces profound uncertainty in the Senate, where a handful of Republican senators immediately rejected it, signaling that they would start work on a new version of the bill virtually from scratch.
To the extent that the House solves problems, we might borrow ideas, said Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, chairman of the Senate health committee. We can go to conference with the House, or they can pass our bill.

House Republicans Narrowly Pass Gop Health Care Bill
The Republican-sponsored American Health Care Act passed the House 217-213 Thursday, with one vote to spare, although it will face an uncertain path in the Senate.;
No Democrats voted for the bill, and 20 Republicans voted against it. The bill largely repeals and replaces Obamacare.;
Speaking to reporters after the vote, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, said he knew they had the votes on Wednesday and he said if they hadn’t passed it, it would have impeded “the rest of our agenda.”;
“We proved that we could accomplish something this big,” he said. “I can’t thank the president enough. President Trump and Vice President Pence have been directly engaged,” adding that Pence called him twice on Thursday to check in about individual members.;
House Republicans left the Capitol after the vote, headed to the White House on buses. Scalise said they were invited to the Oval Office or the Rose Garden.;
As soon as Republicans cleared the threshold to pass the bill, House Democrats began singing in unison, “Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey, goodbye” toward the Republicans.;
Rep. Chris Collins, R-New York, said he’s not worried about Republicans’ prospects for the 2018 midterm elections.;
“If we weren’t able to repeal and replace Obamacare, it would have been a bad midterm for us. I think we will hold our own, if not pick up seats,” he told reporters.;
