LMAOOO i like cinderholly :3 i went with hollywillow in my au for the drama of it all, but there's a lot to love about cinderholly too. that little argument they have in sunrise after the gathering scene where cinderheart goes on about how hollyleaf's actions created nothing but pain... in the context of them being in a relationship...... dare i say.... very very yuri............... they had infinitely more potential than lioncinder and i'll die on that hill forever and ever.

i'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers, especially if it's yuri, it's very very sweet to me <3

Guys do not go see a band live who used to be the single most intense fixation you've ever had in your life and was all you could think about for years and really just defined your life for a while and then you managed to be relatively normal about them for a couple years but then you see them again and you remember why they mean more to you than anything and then you literally can't think about anything else anymore worst mistake of my life I thought this would pass after a few weeks but theres no way. not really! i've just been in, to be frank, a pretty bad place mentally. i haven't written a thing since the last fic i posted, which was....8 days ago? which is super unusual for me, i usually write every day or near to it, i've just been laying around like a salted slug for a few weeks. it sucks. i'm not gonna go into detail but we shall say my life kind of imploded in the back half of december/front half of january and i have yet to start picking up the pieces. which i'm very fortunate to even be able to take that time, of course, but it's still not fun.

butttttttt i do have a doc open right now as i try to bang something out. how well that is going is debatable, seeing as i am also currently on tumblr, but i will do my best. and hopefully if i can make progress today it will unstick some other gears and i can get back into writing and all the rest of it!

okay NOT surprised. lets go

the thing with taishauna for me is that i think it's one of the absolute best dynamics in the show but i don't ship it or (personally) enjoy the idea of them in a relationship. and that's for two reasons. one is the shaunajackie of it all? like teen shauna is way too messed up over jackie and I ENJOY the way she's repressed and messed up and i think with the type of dynamic taishauna have it could have the potential to be much... healthier. for shauna. and i enjoy shauna as a character much more when she's fucked up, tortured and repressed. and then in adulthood it just feels like shauna truly cannibalized jackie in every way that is possible and i think - and i AM aware taissa famously fumbled the bag not once but twice - tai deserves better than to be with someone who's barely her own person. so there's THAT

but all of that aside i think what i deeply enjoy about taishauna is - to me - something i see as a byproduct of how much they love each other but platonically. like there is the way they are both quite insane about the girls they fell for in their teens. in different ways and yet so many similar ones. i am SUCH a huge fan of vantai/shaunajackie parallels as you may have noticed. it's just... hm how do i put it. i find it fascinating how tai starts sleepwalking again and goes to shauna and it's only "other" tai that leads her back to van. that's at the heart of taishauna to me and also why i love their dynamic in a platonic way it's like. they have this understanding of each other that's not clouded the way i think taissa's understanding of van is because of how in love she is with van. like where vantai and shaunajackie become TOO CLOSE (i.e. "i don't even know where you end and i begin" vs "it's just something that's happening to you. happening to us") taishauna have the necessary distance to really see each other as they are. i think SO MUCH about the trust they have for each other since nearly the fucking BEGINNING. taissa being the first one to find out about shauna's pregnancy. being there when shauna tried to end that pregnancy. shauna promising to stay awake when tai was afraid to fall asleep. just so much innate TRUST. but then there are all those ways they are similar and the way some of their.. flaws can mirror each other. or things they don't quite want to admit i guess? like my take on the allie thing? shauna is the only one who WASN'T against tai's idea. to me "jackie isn't gonna like it" is such a way to avoid admitting she does. and then her outburst? it feels TO ME like shauna getting irritated and upset seeing jackie with jeff and wanting to take out her anger but it's also an anger at herself and tai - in shauna's mind - did something shauna was too cowardly to even give an opinion on. like its so fascinating how that's the "icing out" from the pilot with the "i didn't mean to hurt her" and then tai being one of the only ones trying to get jackie to stay inside. um this is getting away from me. anyways. so! trust but!! that trust is built on such a heavy history. like. it's the vulnerability they feel safe enough to show each other BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY WENT THROUGH TOGETHER and the confidence that the other will help them in extreme situations BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY WENT THROUGH TOGETHER vs the awareness of what they're capable of and a lack of trust BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY WENT THROUGH TOGETHER. it's tai hiring jessica to find out if shauna might spill but trusting shauna when she's falling apart and helping her hide a body. it's them communicating with just looks in the beginning of 2x09 and then the uncertainty of whether any of them should ever trust the others. idk it's just! yeah obsessed with them

About the ship: -Capper would more and more often come to Equestria to visit Rarity, he'd insist on helping her around her shop to the dismay of Sassy Saddles who'd constantly carry around a lint roller whenever he'd visit -He'd never admit it to Rarity but he'd fallen for her quite early on and felt guilt for his feelings, assuming she would not only be disinterested in him, but not even consider being in a relationship with an Abyssinian and not a pony -Rarity, somewhat oblivious to his feelings, would be told through Applejack and Pinkie about Capper's true intentions in returning to Equestria every so often, she thinks he's cute for doing so after finding out -Rarity takes Capper out on a date as a reward for his efforts for all the times he aided her in her boutique, she also does it to tread out some waters she hadn't taken the time to consider before -The two become a couple a few dates after that, through which Pinkie constantly demands details out of Rarity, having most likely shipped them from very early on in their friendship -For a long time Capper still felt at fault for them even being together, constantly fretting over whether or not Rarity truly liked him or not and whether or not their relationship blossomed out of an obligation -One particular day he even thought he'd seen her sigh longingly at Applejack and Blueblood with their newborn son, as if wishing for normalcy -In his worry, Capper left Ponyville for a short period of time to see if he could do anything about his personal predicament, and assured Rarity it wasn't anything she should concern herself about -During his travels he would search for a solution to give Rarity a much more desirable and normal version of himself -When he does in fact find the means, of which was probably from a stranger living in the middle of nowhere in some bog he didn't bother to remember the name of, he returns home with much anticipation -Notably he didn't take much time to memorize the undoings of the spell he was intending to use, which would have something to do with a confession and a kiss in the form of a neat rhyme I'm too poor to write -Capper is warmly welcomed back home and him and Rarity resume their normal routines -It isn't until a few days later that he finally chooses to use the potion that he had searched for when he has a moment to himself -Disappointingly he notices no physical changes in himself, until a few moments later when he hears clutter coming from another room followed by one of Rarity's infamous screams -Capper runs in to find that it wasn't him who had changed in appearance, but her -Rarity spends a long while confused and barricaded in their household trying to make sense of the fact that she was now an Abyssinian, constantly crying about not having her magic to make dresses or even comb her hair -Rarity asks Capper desperately if he has any idea why this would have happened, to which he nervously replies that he doesn't have any clue -Capper takes care of her during this time, helping in whatever ways he can, practicing to walk on her hindlegs and even the ability to use her newfound paws for grabbing things; he even teaches her a few pointers on sewing that he had picked up on during the beginnings of their friendship -A few days of undisclosed cat-hood and not going outside had passed before Rarity's close friends had begun to ponder at the situation, Capper eventually has no choice but to bring them in on it -After a few positivity speeches from the girls, Rarity gains the confidence to go outside and attempt to continue on with life as if nothing had happened -Rarity takes on a whole new approach to her lifestyle and begins making dresses for creatures outside of just ponies, she even gets the hang of walking on two legs after a while -She even takes a few pointers and tips from Mistmane who had overgone a species change as well -Eventually Capper does admit to all the things he had hid from her for so long, including the self doubt he had about their relationship, even bringing up the fact that he had assumed she'd wanted a more normal family -Rarity with no bearing of anger over his feelings and actions tells him straight out that she had figured out her feelings long before and wasn't backing out on them now, she even infers of the moment of seeing Applejack with her family as wanting to start one of her own -The two kiss and the spell is unbound, something they realize afterwords was an act they hadn't yet attempted to try in Rarity's previous state of being -A certain amount of time later Rarity finds out she's expecting and not long after that they find out they're having triplets, to which ponies would occasionally tease about it implying they were having a litter -As an Abyssinian Rarity picked up the habit of licking herself to clean her fur and continued to do so as a pony for her foals -A while after their three foals are born Rarity takes up dressmaking again, but chooses to primarily intend for her dresses to be worn by all creatures and not just ponies -She dutifully spends as much time as she can making dress wear for her babies as they inspire her daily General facts: -Rarity and Capper were both surprised to find their children attempting to waddle on their hindlegs very early on in their development; all three of them are capable of both walking on 2 and 4 legs -It was a very momentous occasion for Rarity to watch each foal learn to walk on their hindlegs, remembering how difficult it was for herself to figure out -Capper has a soft spot for Clarity, being the shy and quiet one who has a hard time fitting in on occasion -Celestine has the tendency to get her attire dirty, she was constantly in the mud as a child, Rarity is constantly panicking over Celeste ruining her pretty dresses -I imagine Ramsey to be the one to like trying on clothes the most -Capper would comb Rarity's hair for her for a while when she was an Abyssinian as he knew that was something she constantly missed being able to do when she had her horn -The first time Rarity would have a hairball she would spend the whole day in her bedsheets out of sheer humiliation afterwords
