look this site really is awful for ppl with OCD so i just wanna reassure anyone that you are not Tainted Forever for consuming a piece of media with questionable content. the fact that youre able to recognize it speaks to your critical thinking skills, which is good, certain depictions should be critiqued. but you dont need to ruminate on it to the point where you begin to feel guilty for simply witnessing gross or creepy writing choices. you dont have to vindicate yourself to the fictional tumblr discourser inside your head, saying that youre now a bad person bc you watched the wrong anime. your actual response to it still matters of course, but thats that and this is this. just seeing it is neutral, you didnt commit a thought crime. its literally fine.
IF YOU ARE USING THIS POST TO ONLY FURTHER YOUR STUPID PEDANTIC BLACK-AND-WHITE DISCOURSE TO GET A "GOCHA" OVER THE OTHER SIDE YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. DON'T USE OUR DISORDER TO VINDICATE YOUR BEHAVIOR. THOUGHT CRIMES ARENT REAL BUT ACTIONS STILL MATTER. PEOPLE WITH OCD ARE CAPABLE OF THINKING CRITICALLY ABOUT OUR ACTIONS AND RESPONSES, EVEN WITH INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS AND RUMINATIONS. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT, ONLY TO FORCE US TO USE YOUR STRINGENT UNNUANCED DISCOURSE OPINIONS ABOUT "PURITY CULTURE" (TRIGGERING TO THOSE WITH OCD) AS THE ONLY REASONABLE GUIDE DOES MORE TO EXACERBATE OUR OBSESSIONS THAN HELP US. YOU ARE THE ISSUE AS WELL. YOU ARE ALSO THE TUMBLR DISCOURSER INSIDE OUR HEADS. DO NOT USE US FOR YOUR DISCOURSE. WE ARE PEOPLE, NOT HYPOTHETICALS TO USE TO EXPLAIN IF YOUR FROZEN INCEST FANFICTION IS OKAY OR NOT. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT AUTONOMOUSLY HAVE OUR OWN OPINIONS ON WHEN MEDIA IS TANGIBLY HARMFUL IS ABLEIST. FORCING US TO ABIDE BY YOUR IN-GROUP'S SET OF UNEQUIVOCAL MORALS IS ABLEIST. ACTING AS THOUGH THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR US IS MINDLESS MEDIA CONSUMPTION IN WHICH "EVERY DEPICTION OF XYZ, NO MATTER HOW POORLY DONE OR EXPLOITATIVE, IS ALWAYS OKAY AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOURE ACTUALLY AN EVIL 'ANTI'" IS ABLEIST. THOSE ARE THE SAME BLACK-AND-WHITE MORALS THAT SEND US INTO OBSESSIVE SPIKES, BUT FLIPPED. A SET OF MORALS IN WHICH QUESTIONING THE IMPACT OF A PIECE OF WORK MAKES YOU AN "EVIL CONSERVATIVE PURITAN "ANTI"" DOES NOT HELP MORAL OCD.
YOU ARE THE DAMN TUMBLR DISCOUERSERS MAKING THIS SHIT WORSE FOR US! YOURE THE EXACT SAME BUT WITH FLIPPED BUZZWORDS! YOU'RE MISSING THE WHOLE DAMN POINT!

im just gonna come right out and say it:
pretty much everyone in this fandom portrays Silver as this perfect, flawless, polite, beautiful, princely, romantic gentleman who can do absolutely no wrong in his life ever. which is… not really accurate at all.
he’s odd. he struggles with showing emotions and doesn’t understand social cues very well. his dorm uniform vignette is literally about how people find him strange and unapproachable due to his lack of expressiveness. in his lab coat vignette, Jamil straight up calls him weird to his face and he fully agrees without hesitation.
and in one of his voice lines, he calls Yuu strange just for wanting to hang out with him. stop and think about that for a second. he considers himself boring and doesn’t expect anyone would want to spend time with him. maybe he used to try and make friends, but people kept avoiding him, saying that he wasn’t fun to be around.
he’s not the handsome guy that everybody in the school falls for, he’s the quiet kid who doesn’t say much or has any friends outside of his own personal circle. and i think that has a lot of potential for angst.

Hmmm thinking thoughts about Modern Clegan Break Up Fight AU
Just the pair getting into a fight because Bucky wants to go public about their relationship, but Buck doesn't understand why. Their close friends know, and they know. Who else needs to know? Buck asks this, and Bucky says he wants everyone to know. He wants to do all the cheesy romance shit like meeting the parents and siblings and stuff. Bucky wants to go to parties or events with Buck as his date. He wants to go out on public dates where people see them and know. Buck says he likes their private dates, and he likes how they don't have to be a side show for the people they go to school with (university not high school).
They go back and forth until finally Bucky bursts out that he wants everyone to know because he doesn't want to be the one left behind anymore. Bucky's the good time guy, or so everyone who's ever hooked up with him or gone out with him has said. He's scared that Buck will eventually agree with them (like Buck ever would but Bucky is scared). So now he wants to prove to Gale that he's serious about this, serious about them.
But, Buck's scared in his own way. His dad's still in the picture, and he would rather die than let his shitty excuse for a father anywhere near Bucky. Because his dad is the type to show up and try to teach the boy dating his son a lesson. Except he doesn't say that to Bucky. He says John I don't want to go public with this.
Poor Bucky takes that the exact wrong way. Usually he can read Buck like the back of his hand, but right now he's too emotional and stuck in his own head. He can't see past the facade right now. They start to really argue, building off of each other's energy until finally Bucky says that he can't be with someone who feels like they have to hide being in love with him.
Bucky storms out saying they're over. Heads back to his apartment where he tries to calm down and breathe. He goes and drinks some water to calm down. Except he accidently slices his hand open dropping his water glass. He gets blood all over his bathroom trying to fix it. That's how Curt finds him.
Curt is Bucky's roommate. He wasn't even supposed to be there that weekend. He was actually supposed to be in a different state for a concert the next night, but he forgot his wallet and turned back around after only being on the road for an hour. He finds Bucky bleeding and crying his eyes out, telling himself that that's what he gets for trying to be more than a good time. Curt goes into lockdown mode cause that's bullshit. He cleans Bucky up, and when Bucky looks at him with bright teary eyes and says he and Buck broke up, it's heartbreaking. Bucky sniffles and says he doesn't know what to do because he can't face anyone after this. Curt stuffs Bucky into his car and books it. Bucky forgets his cellphone in the apartment in the rush to get out of there. He realizes it a few hours later when it's too late to turn back.
Buck, meanwhile, has had his panic attack and calmed down. He knows that neither of them were in a good place for that argument, and he gives Bucky some space (a few hours) before he shows up to try and talk to him again. Only Bucky isn't at his apartment, and when Buck can't find him at any of the parties or bars on campus or with their mutual friends, he starts to get scared. Bucky's phone goes straight to voicemail over and over again. Buck goes back and breaks in (uses the spare key Bucky gave him) only to stumble upon an apartment trashed and covered with blood. He freaks out and calls everyone he can think of. Everyone joins the search, and it turns into a whole thing.
Hospitals get called, and then the cops get called, who since they're college town cops are suitably useless. Buck spends the next three days thinking Bucky hurt himself or was hurt bad enough he can't make it to one of their friends or a hospital.
Bucky is having a lovely time by the way. He managed to get a ticket to the concert, maybe Curt had an extra, and it's a great band. He's still heartbroken, but sometimes you just have to scream along to some artist you only learned about yesterday cause it's better than crying. He and Curt end up so hungover the next day that they don't get on the road back to their university until it's super late. They don't tell anyone they got back in town and pass out not knowing everyone in their life thinks Bucky is missing.
Bucky shows up to classes the next day, and he doesn't understand why Brady loses his shit when he sees Bucky walking around campus like their entire friend group hasn't been losing their shit all weekend. Brady drags him away even though Bucky's whining about missing his morning class.
Big reunion scene back at Bucky's apartment where Buck breaks down in tears because he's just so fucking relieved Bucky is okay. They work through their shit, and Bucky has to promise never to go on anymore impromptu road trips.

Thinking about how the other day I was talking to a coworker about my girlfriend and she was like "aw we love lesbian love"
And I said "lol actually neither of us is a lesbian, I'm bi and she's pan"
And this woman (another queer person mind you) looked at me and went, "Well you might as well just call yourselves lesbians because you're in a lesbian relationship."
This pissed me off, so I told her, "No, we're not, because we're not lesbians. I think men are attractive and so does she. I'm bi, she's pan. We're in a queer, woman loving woman relationship."
And she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME, said, "I don't get why it even matters," and left
So to be clear:
Two women in a relationship is not necessarily a lesbian relationship. Two men in a relationship is not necessarily a gay relationship. A man and a woman in a relationship is not necessarily a straight relationship.
People wanting to have their labels properly used and not have their identities erased are not annoying.
(it's also interesting how the second I pushed back about not being a lesbian, it was no longer "aw gay love," it was: "ugh, why can't you just go along with it?")

i found a book abt the anti lawn movement at the library & decided to sit out in my yard & read it. but ironically there was a neverending barage of power tool noises making it difficult to focus. so i walked to a nature park near me in order to escape the dreaded sounds. almost stopped at the mowed picnic table area bc i hate walking but fortunately pushed forward and made myself walk up an annoying hill to an area that is a preservation of a native oak savanna & sat down against a tree near the edge of the path & did my reading there. and honest to god that was a 100/10 experience. there was something so powerful abt being in a preserve for a locally native habitat while reading abt the impacts homeowners can have on native plant preservation! it powered up my energy towards my life mission (evangelize abt enviormentally sustainable gardening to every single person who comes within a 10 ft radius of me) by like. 15 points. also a deer walked up to me and that was super cool

I just don't get what you would have against telling bigots to kill themselves
I'm going to genuinely lay it out for u with the assumption that this is genuine.
I will also note that my original post says NOTHING about bigotry? It seems like people inject the concept of bigotry into discussions about online interaction and disagreement a lot in order to be like "but what if my opponent DESERVES to be verbally harassed" and I'm generally unimpressed by this because my position isn't actually informed by determining which people "deserve" harassment.
1. If someone is genuinely a bigot then my interactions with them on line will not change that. What I can change is my reaction and whether I allow them access to me.
2. I simply block those people.
3. People who react to seeing viewpoints they perceive as bigoted (I will be real here, lots of people online have a very loose metric for "does this actually cause harm") by immediately lashing out with suicide baiting are similarly not people I wish to have access to me. To me this speaks to a desire to use public speech and social interaction to inflate one's own ego or as a stress relief valve; it feels good to attack people we see as espousing harmful viewpoints. It feels good to feel justified in attacking. It feels good to get to "write off" your suicide baiting when you file your morality taxes ;)
3. I simply block these people as well :)

I feel like to describe Steven's shows as him flaunting wealth and eating gold from the bussoms of royalty is quite a dishonest summarization and transparent way to not even try an understand what the fuck the show is. Its a show about sharing and partaking in different cultures lmao. Like, you know there are classes in college for that right? Literally just exposing you to different cuisines and culture's? Thats Steven's show and I don't see the ethical problem in budgeting money to do so, if you want to watch that sort of entertainment (i do! I do! I do. You don't that okay). He's always been about connecting with others and sharing life experiences. Yea he owns a Tesla, lame shit not gonna lie but I'm not a wimp and I'd say that to anyone with a Tesla, even Steven. So yeah fine whatever rip on him for that lmao. But to call a show wheres he's just touring to connect with others and share their food out of touch and classist? Pfffftttt. Wow how cruel and unethical. Criticize him all you want, but none of you are. Its all half ass accusations and weird fucking Vibe Checks where you deem him Not Right cus he didn't smile correctly or wide enough. You are not his friend but Also, not his life long enemy fool. You don't know him well enough to hate or love him accurately.

reminder to newcomers that if your blog has no posts, no profile picture, no header, and your blog colors aren't changed, i and most other people will take that as you being a bot and will block and report you as spam if you follow us. go to your profile and click the little paint pallette and give your blog a makeover real quick or if that's too much just change your blog title to something like "not a bot". i really recommend the makeover though because that's much more fun even if you don't want to reblog and you're just here to lurk.

im not hiding myself, I send an ask a long time ago saying how, as someone who liked to ship, I was doing my best to keep Moon as Ace representation as best as I could (Im demi- who loves silly lovers)
I speak to some Ace artist and they had guide me, I been follwing a nice blog too! that often responds to my ask, but I leave this ask now to say.. what Im doing wrong?
I keep reading these ask saying "how aphobic people are when removing the sex repulsed out of NewMoon!" when.. all I do is going by how he is acting in canon and what he said- the "I dont swin any way" was to a literal monster showing his ass.. but
but , im not here to get yelled at. im here to know, to ask those anons who say me and others artist are being aphobic, to please guide me, what Im doing wrong? maybe is my like to proyect into characters I like? is it because I view im as Ace-Sex favorable? is it because I just like him to be with Solar?
I ask those who leave those type of ask, to please tell me, and by extent. others that will read, what is it aphobic to view NewMoon as another "type" (hope is ok to say it like that) if Ace, please because I care to know..

I think the problem you are having with all the replies, is you're using the ship name (g h 0 u I c y, i'm censoring it as well, because tumblr search also searches anon question content) and your posts are literally showing up in the tag for shippers who are just minding their own business trying to look for content, only to be met with some really heavy accusations of condoning abuse/racism. Obviously this upsets them. If you don't want to get replies from Those People, you should be mindful that you're not using the space that they use to look at the ship.
I never said that I was accusing these people of CONDONING abuse or racism?? I said the ship was abusive and that there could be underlying/subconscious racism. Black love interests have always been seen as less desirable by fans and get pushed aside for a white character. Idrc if me saying that offends people. And what other way is there to describe the ship other than abusive? That's what it is
But I've already said this before, I don't want to talk about this ship anymore. I'm tired of talking about and thinking about it. I don't like it. It makes me really uncomfortable, please stop sending me asks about it
And can you guys stop going to my friends and mutuals and start sending THEM anons asking them for their opinions on me because I don't like the ship??? Thanks

we need to stop pathologizing right-wing violence and political actions asap, not only is it liberal scapegoating to avoid talking about the real reasons these problems arrive, it also throws mentally ill people under the bus for actions that arent inherent to having a mental illness. being mentally ill doesnt turn you into a terrorist or make you a politician who tries to strip human rights from the populace, no not even if you think theyre "monsters devoid of empathy."
a politician or corporate ceo does not make the decisions to defund welfare programs or make their employees work awful hours and try to break up unions because theyre "narcissists" or "avoidant personality psychopaths" or bc they "have aspergers" or whatever other heavily demonized mental illness you want to armchair diagnose them with to waive away real world conditions and resign these behaviors as just a biological component of being a "scary" mentally ill person. they do these things for a reason, because they work under capitalist logic. they do the things that will make them the most amount of profit in the short term and will try to break down anything that threatens their profits or challenge the company lobbies that line their pockets, not because torturing their workers makes them feel good.
american mass violence is caused by rising right-wing extremism and white supremacy brought on by the internet and mainstream news networks like fox news, not because the assailant was a "troubled kid" who was bullied. people will go on and on about how we need better mental health treatments while resigning the killer's right-wing manifesto as a fucking footnote as if it has nothing to do with their actions, and how we need gun control and even MORE police funding to keep guns out of mentally ill people's hands (and keep the guns in the hands of privileged white supremacists, as history will tell you that gun control laws in america were mostly brought along to deliberately disarm left-wing black movements)
people don't want to admit that these actions are not irrational or that theyre not actually caused by some inherent human evil, because that would mean theres something wrong with the system and the culture of american society that needs addressing, which is too hard to commit to. instead, scapegoating mentally ill people (who are more likely to be poor and the target of violence) is easier, to say these actions are because the few bad apples simply have a biological trait inside them that makes them sadistic murderers, that theres no way there could be any cultural or economic reward behind their actions that make them act the way they do. no, theres no way a SANE person could commit these atrocities! we dont have to address any systemic problems then, to prevent this from happening again.
