To all of you who ship Syd and Richie, I didn't see it at first. Like at all and I didn't like it. But rewatching and watching season 3, I see the vision and I appreciate you

the beat
*
the beat goes on.
that title & song from days of yore
still applies
musician or not, there's a pulse
beneath the core of our presence
that governs the rhythms of our reasons,
rites & rituals,
reminders of our daily essence.
yet, high-handed decisions
made without our input
wreck the rhythms of a multitude:
groups, ethnicities, entire races & countries;
a drumbeat anchoring a death dance
if not mass deprivation & disenfranchisement.
beaten, not broken
we go on, beneath those thumbs
fighting over entitlements i call crumbs
for a place to lay a head, rest some feet
under sheltered shade on the sunny side
of the street
…and the beat goes on.

omg yes definitely seeing Carmy on the aro/ace spectrum might have been my projecting a little bit like I always saw their dynamic as him thinking he should be all in and interested coz omg the prettiest girl at school my old crush is into me even though they aren’t in a space similar enough for a successful relationship
no this is so real aroace carmy make so much fucking sense and the first time i watched season 2 i was so distraught about him having a love interest but tbh so much about their relationship and about carmy as a character is so much more elevated and meaningful if you view him as aroace. like. him being so fucking weird about calling claire his girlfriend. him having a panic attack outside the restaurant the morning after he and claire finally have sex. that jeremy allen white interview where he says “Carmy's, like, the least sexual person. In playing him, I was aware that he had no room for love” and then clarifies that “Carmy does not fuck." when he’s in the walk-in and says that “no amount of good is worth how terrible this feels.” the intrinsic differentness about carmy that becomes so so clear in the fishes episode and lends itself so beautifully to a queer interpretation. do you see the vision.
