5SOS: Week 36 | August 28th - September 3rd 2017

Hello! Welcome to September! This week was a bit of a slow one in 5sosland, given that the boys are on a bit of a break from their summer tour. Soon enough though the boys will be in Lima Peru at the Jockey Club on Wednesday, September 6th!

Although, it has been a slow week - off of the stage - the guys have been working on the new albums for a while and they're "recording some of the finishing touches" and soon enough we'll all be in the midst of 5sos3 and we won't know what to do with ourselves, lol.

Also, Michael was able to catch up on Game of Thrones.

And, Luke woke up thinking he was in a hotel.

Not much has gone on this week in the world of 5sos, but our boys are still alive and kicking and working on new music that we're all looking forward to!

—¡¿QUÉ PASÓ?! ¿Debo matar a alguien? —¿Qué? No, nada de eso. Te necesito en el parque, enfrente de la heladería. ¡AHORA! Hay algo que te va a emocionar. *Fin del FaceTime* —P- pero... ¿Me cortó? Maldita.- suspiré caminando hacía el parque. Ah, ella es mi mejor amiga; Madison Beer. Lleva ese título desde que entramos en la secundaria, hace ya casi seis años.

—¡Maggs! ¡Aquí! -La voz de Madds interrumpió mis pensamientos. ¿Hace cuánto llegué?

—Ya, ya estoy aquí. ¿Qué sucede?

—Mira... -Apuntó hacia un cartel, logrando que mire con desgana.

—Sí. Un cartel. ¿Y la cosa es que...? Madds, ¿me trajiste aquí para ver un jodido cartel?

Suspiró.

—Acércate y lee lo que dice.

La miré con recelo caminando hasta el tan especial cartel, ya que estábamos como a unos cuatro o cinco metros. Leí atentamente lo que decía, con los ojos cristalizados y llenos de lágrimas.

Me di la vuelta con pasos inseguros caminando hasta mi amiga, la cual se encontraba mirando detrás de mi y esperando mi reacción. Corrí hasta ella y la abracé lo más fuerte que pude, con abundantes lágrimas de emoción y tristeza rodando por mis mejillas. —Shh, shh. ¿Por qué lloras? Deberías estár feliz.- Sonrió de lado, acariciando lentamente mi cabello, en un movimiento constante.

—Madison, estoy feliz, o al menos algo... Es solo que, ¿cómo quieres que esté del todo feliz si no van a venir aquí? ¿Cómo quieres que esté feliz sabiendo que irán solo a mi país natal y no donde vivo actualmente? No podré verlos hasta que ellos se dignen a hacer un show aquí.- Alcé unos pocos centímetros para decirle eso mirándola a los ojos y volví a acurrucarme en su cuello sollozando aún más. Soy completamente consciente de que la gente que pasa me mira raro, claro. No todos los días se ve a una adolescente de diecisiete años llorar abrazada a otra chica en la calle. Y si sucede, usualmente es porque un chico rompió su corazón. Y este caso no es tan distinto, la única diferencia es que...

Esta vez, el corazón de una chica de diecisiete años abrazada a su amiga no fue roto por un chico; lo hicieron los cuatro que más la ayudaron, entendieron, salvaron... Por supuesto, inconscientemente.

Slept until my alarm went off

Finally made it up to see my chiropractor for an adjustment and I feel 10x better now

Had my first salted caramel mocha of the year and it actually felt like fall today

Our Gourmet Season cards have officially been approved and are in production at the printers! One more thing to check off my to-do list at work

Mopped our kitchen floor - it looks so much cleaner but needs to be mopped about six more times before I would consider it clean

Going to bed super early so I can get up super early to kick off my girls weekend in Austin ASAP

I was hoping they were waiting to say something bc they were trying to reschedule but i guess not

Given how tightly scheduled this tour is, not to mention that since the show was cancelled just before start time, the budget for this date was already spent (press and advertisement for the show, flights, hotels, meals, transportation and security for the band and their crew, transportation for the stage and equipment, labor for the stage that was already built, etc), I would imagine that cancellation rather than postponement was the most practical solution.

Will you comment on the Peru situation? Twitter is saying a lot of craziness and I just want to hear what's true

As always, I would advise against using Twitter as an informational resource and suggest relying instead on official channels for insight and updates.

At this point, the available facts are that tonight's show was cancelled by the local government because the promoters failed to obtain the permits necessary to hold the show. According to fans that spoke with authorities, this was a known issue weeks ago but the band and their team were not made aware until they were turned away when they arrived at the venue. The decision to cancel the show was completely out of their hands.

There's not much else to report at this point, it's just an unfortunate situation that was poorly handled by the promoters/venue and I feel bad for both the band and the fans that were looking forward to the show. 💙

I know it wasn't their fault but idk i kind of feel like they should've tried to do something for the fans like a pop up show , performance outside the hotel or at least an Instagram live or something idk.

We have no way of knowing what alternatives were explored but I'm sure that trying to accommodate a crowd of that size in such a short amount of time would be both logistically implausible and a safety/security/liability nightmare.
