i really want to dress up my dolls in halloween costumes, but i can never decide for the girls that don’t have “canon” costumes what they would want to dress up in and what would be (at least somewhat) historically accurate for the time. 😅

i would love to hear how you dress up your dolls for halloween, especially any picks for the historical girls!

#american girl #agblr #american girl dolls #dollblr #my posts #of course we are ignoring Molly’s canon costume here lol #while it would be very historically plausible for her to wear a racist costume I’m not doing that lol #as of right now I’ve got luciana as an astronaut #Maryellen as a cowgirl #Courtney as a space ranger #fairy costume for cécil #and kavi as elphaba #aka the canon ish ones #and then I think I’m going to give kit a homemade looking ghost costume #but I still need to decide a girl to be glinda (using an old Cinderella costume)#and I’ve also got #Elsa and anna (which would be Nicki and Isabel if the weren’t historical tbh)#the ag witch costume (which im leaning towards joss on just based on color scheme)#a non ag witch costume #a cute little candycorn dress (which tbh could also be a witch)#a Rockford peaches uniform which I put on molly last year but I might give to one of the nineties girlies this year #and I think that’s all right now. currently debating on getting a batgirl and supergirl costume pair for ivy and julie.#unfortunately im a huge nerd and would hate that they’re not the 70s batgirl and supergirl.#but I have not seen any patterns I could adapt to make historically accurate ones. and I am not confident enough to pattern from scratch #I would ideally like to have costumes for all the girls from Sam onwards. but that’s a LOT of historical research and patterning.#which like. I can barely FOLLOW a pattern lol #but think of Sam in one of those hilarious lobster dresses. amazing.#im kinda stumped for melody. I was thinking Wonder Woman or Star Trek but although it might be historically accurate im not sure if it fits #her interests. tbh I need to go finish her books #I also would love to know when kids started doing a poodle skirt as halloween costume. because I have one for Maryellen that I could use
