Been thinking about the children that Lucy bit and wondering, were there any lingering effects of their experience?
Seemingly none of them were fed on enough times to worry about being turned into child vampires, and with Lucy and Dracula killed they assumedly wouldn't be at risk even if they were.
But beyond strange nightmares and muddled memories of their abduction by 'The Bloofer Lady', and the faint scars on their necks, do any of the children start being able to maybe See things they couldn't before? Are any of them just a little stronger or faster?
If it could happen to Jonathan after all...
And do they somehow find each other later? The other children who were taken and had this strange experience none of them were ever able to make sense of? And try to work out together just what happened to all of them that left them slightly Off?
Do the Crew of Light ever go back to check on any of them?

It is really interesting that vampire!Lucy is going after children, and letting them live after feeding. Like. She could easily drain those kids dry, and we know from earlier in the book that vampires of any gender identification have no problems chowing down on a baby, so this isn't a 'soft woman can't kill children' sort of thing.
So.
Either the Bloofer Lady (cuz that's not Lucy anymore) is stil young and figuring out what she can and can't do and how far she can drain someone, and the kids are only alive because she's not a mature vampire like Dracula.
Or. There's enough of Lucy left to not just murder all these children. Drain them, hypnotize them, make them her servants, yes, but not murder them.
Or it's somewhere in between. It's probably the former, but I kind of like to believe it's the latter. Either way, somebody please go take care of the Bloofer Lady so Lucy can finally rest in peace.

So Dracula daily is crazy today because so much happens but highlights for me are
• Jonathan is back we got a message from Jonathan!!!
• Van helsing and Jonathan talked for a few minutes, agreed that Mina is the best human being, and then swore to be Best Friends Forever
•Seward dramatically acknowledging that he is, in fact, proceeding with the diary he dramatically ended like four days ago
•van helsing telling Seward he is the Dumbest Smart guy had me deceased
• van helsing going on a small book of the Bible’s worth of information that still didn’t prevent Seward from being shocked and angry over the Lucy reveal
• and then all the suspense of the church yard and them playing scooby doo
• also them leaving a child on the sidewalk while they hid in the bushes to make sure a policeman finds the kid is peak comedy cracks my up each time
Honestly this is my favorite part of the book and it just gets BETTER and by better I mean worse, so much worse but boy oh boy I have fun reading it!

Inktober day 29: "Uh oh." It's a lovely evening in the graveyard, and you are a horrifying Bloofer Lady. The Boys will all have trauma after this.

“There is, however, possibly a serious side to the question...”
A serious side to a woman kidnapping children you say. The Correspondent (assuming he is always the same guy) and I are at odds. I do not like how little he takes the Bloofer Lady seriously. And that is my Lucy and someone needs to help her and the children she is biting. At least she didn’t kill any (yet?). I don’t know if I could stand it since I know her as the kindest person ever. I don’t want this to be her legacy!
And yes the first time I read this I did have to look up what “bloofer” meant and, yes, I am still dissatisfied with the “we think Stoker was mocking the low class kids’ pronunciation of beautiful?”
Eta: and that adds another level to the mocking tone of the first article. They are like, “LOL like any beautiful lady would want the dumb poors.”

Still catching up on the entries and I gotta make a comment. Whoever translated Dracula from English to Spanish had no clue what "bloofer" meant (and honestly I don't blame them) because they translated it to "fanfarrona" which is a translation for bluffing but also for showoff or braggart.
Lucy, the showoff lady.
