Have you heard of the AU called For The Children? It’s kind of similar to your slasher one in the sense that Sun and Moon kill abusive parents and such
Tumblr media
@formdrop
I have seen @/ayyy-imma-ninja’s serial killer boys around the block! Tho I haven’t yet had the pleasure of reading the few chapters they have out currently.
But I imagine the four of them would get on quite well together, human/robot differences aside. They share more in common even beyond their passions for retributive justice. Both our Suns have an interest in books and creating positive spaces for children. And both our Moons seem to like uhhh slicin’ and a dicin’ :3c.

AHHHHH! Just read Syzygy in Dedication! Oh, I love it! Like there’s still Eclipse’s tendency to come close and being a bit touchy, but like this time it’s actually tender. (Though I laughed at the bell leaving a mark because y/n fell asleep on it. Still leaving marks on them, huh? XD) And he’s still his bossy self, though, well he IS literally the boss this time, so it fits pretty well with the whole dynamic they have going. Y/n being defiant and sassing him back, but obviously knowing they can push his buttons a little because he lets them get away with it, haha! And oh god, here we have them getting taken from a hospital when they’re most vulnerable. Definitely not gonna be a fan from then on in this universe either. And omg?? Sun and Moon actually being kind of terrifying. Walking in like they own the place to take a patient. If being at the mercy of one handsy mafia boss was bad, having to keep track of two is gonna be a nightmare for this poor detective. And I love how you kept so many parallels, like the brothers calling him big brother and “Clip”, while Eclipse addresses them by their names. And the fact that he can’t bring himself to shoot at them, because he still loves his brothers. I also find it interesting that y/n is so set on sparing Eclipse the pain of going after them. I wonder if there’s more behind that! Oh also, also, I think I remember you mentioned this version had a bit of a happier ending for the mafia side of the family in that the detective and Eclipse are able to veeeeeeerrrry slowly convince them to drop their gang? Though I wonder how that would go. Sun and Moon together are always a force to be reckoned with and this version of them has the advantage that they’re not alone. They have each other as their partner in crime. Though maybe that could be used to convince them? Ahhh, just love seeing what was kept and what was changed. It’s so interesting and I am left intrigued!
Awww, I'm so happy to hear that! I really did want to balance Eclipse with his usual self but in a softer manner, so I'm really glad you like him ♄ I took a little different angle with Y/N in here, not so flirtatious, but still defiant and knows how to grind gears. They were really fun to write with Eclipse!
Y/N's greatest enemy is hospitals in any universe smh
Oh gosh, Y/N is going to be fighting for their lives against the both of them, and they will be kicking and screaming against them ;-;
Ah, yes! Eclipse still loves his brothers, even to a fault, even if that meant that they get away with his detective. It kills him on the inside but, there will be time for regrets and remorse later. He's gotta find his detective and quick, knowing their injured and without their weapon or even badge!
Y/N wants to spare Eclipse pain. It's just a matter of making sure they actually can do that for him, even if he thinks he doesn't need it.
Yes, you remember correctly! This AU has a happier ending with the boys turning over a new leaf and coming back to Clip! It's gonna be a bumpy road, but, between their fondness for Detective!Y/N and still caring about Clip (even if there is some pain there between the three brothers), they'll come back into the light, eventually ♄
Thank you so much for reading, babe!!! ♄

ïž”â€żïž”â€żïž”ÊšËšÌŁÌŁÌŁÍ™Éžăƒ»àŒșâ€àŒ»ăƒ» ÊšËšÌŁÌŁÌŁÍ™Éžïž”â€żïž”â€żïž”
1900, Manila
The gust of wind rustling the forest almost silenced your pounding heart, but not quite. You transformed into a blazing bird and shoot through the bright sky, searching the brown earthen hues below. Your bird form made you an easy target, knowing that the wights after you have hunting guns; but your bird form also allowed you to scan the forest with your peculiar intuition. You could detect souls and sense their objectives. As you fly towards the outskirts of the woods, you located the two wights running away.
Suddenly, you felt another soul wandering through the thickets. A lone, pure heart, a good aura that you wouldn’t expect right after getting chased by blank-eyed monsters. Driven by curiosity, you roamed above the trees where you felt the presence. It was a floating map. You perched on a branch and watched the huge map turn, as if being held by a person. You looked from another angle at it revealed a floating suit and trousers. Carefully eyeing the subject and its pavement shoes leaving a calculated trail, there was only one word you can fathom: peculiar.
It had been over half a century since you’ve seen another peculiar, and it fascinated you how you couldn’t actually see this one. You continued watching the invisible who seem to be looking for something; a landmark? a person? a girl who can turn into a two-feet-tall fiery bird? If it was the latter, you knew you couldn’t easily trust someone, even if your intuition screamed this person’s good intentions.
You flew towards your house by the river, and judging by the angle of the floating clothes below, you knew you’ve been spotted. The moment you reached your home, you transformed back to your sixteen year-old body and slipped in a floor length skirt, a white sleeved shirt made from pineapple fabrics, and a scarf around your neck. You prepared hot chocolate in case that invisible peculiar pays a visit.
It only took a few minutes until you heard a knock on your door. Reluctantly, you opened it to reveal the same floating clothes that seemed to belong to the western world.
"Who are you?"
"Millard Nullings, at your service." A voice of a teenage boy spoke up. You moved aside to allow him enter your home, saying your name as you lead him to the drawing room. At first, you thought it was going to be painfully awkward, but it immediately changed into a pleasant, curious atmosphere when his body headed straight towards the ancient maps on your walls, as if being pulled by a magnet.
"Thank you, this place is incredibly interesting. For the longest time I thought these maps were never to be found again," Millard said as he took the hot chocolate from your hand while staring at the walls.
"These are from my old ymbryne. She was a real treasure," you said, standing beside him. "It shows hundreds of ancient loops across Asia. I wouldn't have found my current home without these maps. Oh, and Millard... may I ask how did you get here?"
"The wights after you were caught a while ago. This loop is marked empty in A Map of Days, so catching two of Caul's followers in here is intriguing. It wasn't long until I found the entrance after leapfrogging through a parallel loop nearby."
Brushing off more questions in your head, you offered him a seat and took sips of hot chocolate.
"Perplexus wasn't wrong when he marked this loop empty," you said. Millard's head most likely whipped up at the mention of the famous cartographer.
You smiled at this and continued. "When my old loop was raided, my ymbryne suggested this small loop. It was an empty peculiar menagerie. I suspect a dozen peculiar animals used to live here with all the traces I've found. But for over fifty years, I haven't seen any peculiarity in this area." You turn your head towards the window. "Past those Cacao trees is the membrane of the loop. A small provincial village with normal people, normal chickens, and a normal carabao. So seeing you here feels more surreal than it sounds," you admitted.
"What about your bird?" he asked, "that tall phoenix flying around the woods?"
A twinge of realization came over you and you sigh, reluctant to admit your peculiarity.
"That was me," you say finally.
"What! You can turn into a phoenix? You're an ymbryne?" Millard's voice was a mix of astonishment and confusion.
"How else did you think I manage to revive this loop?" You smiled.
"I just thought ymbrynes' bird forms are supposed to be inconspicuous. But you were...incredibly remarkable."
Your cheeks heated up at the comment and you divert your gaze with a soft chuckle.
"That baffled me as well, that's why I only transform in important situations. Locals believed me to be a magical bird, thus driving many hunters' attention. My bird form is known as Adarna. Similar to a phoenix, but distinct in certain features."
"Adarna? I've never heard of that kind of bird before."
"It is a famous folklore bird in the Philippines. There are stories about it, even in the Tales of the Peculiar." You stood and picked up an old children's book on the bookshelf across the room. You handed it to Millard, which you assume, made him smile.
"This is an ancient version indeed. I annotate many of the Tales but I've never seen this before. Would you mind letting me borrow this?" You couldn't bring yourself to say no to him, so you insisted he could keep it. Stating that you didn't need a copy, having memorized it for the longest time.
After minutes of discussion, you noticed how he got so excited in the topic of maps, history and his friends. It felt like you were listening to a teacher who loved his work, and you weren't complaining as you found this adorable. You were both having good laughs with Millard's stories, until he finally said, "I trust you expect a reassurance that the wights wouldn't trouble you anymore, but we can't be certain."
Your eyebrows furrowed at this, "what are you planning?"
"To take you to Devil's Acre."
You were surprised and slightly taken aback. He must've seen the faraway look on your face so he continues, "Y/n, you don't have to go now. I can just leave you a detailed map to help you reach the panloopticon anytime."
You paced around the drawing room. "So you're letting me go there alone?"
“If that's what you like, yes. I don't want to rush you into leaving your home, but I’ll feel much better if you let me take you there myself." His British drawl made your throat dry, you could only nod.
"I'll take my time to think about it, but as soon as the wights come near this area, I'll head to your loop for safety." You decided it's only smart to stay home until real danger emerge, despite how much you'd like to go with Millard. "Why don't you stay here for a while?"
"That can be a problem. You see, my ymbryne left me with strict rules..."
"You weren't supposed to be here, aren't you?"
You both just laughed at this.
A while later, a loud commotion started in the other side of the loop membrane. Villagers were screaming and animals were flocking away.
"Was that a regular noise within your loop?"
"For fifty years of living this exact same day over and over again, I can assure you that was most unnatural." You got up and pocketed an old but sharp dagger as Millard packed the maps and the book you gave him.
"Those are certainly Wights looking for their other comrades. We ought to flee this place now," he said.
You both slipped through the backdoor towards the river, careful not to trip into the mud. When you reach the bamboo raft, he held your hand and made sure you wouldn't lose balance. This gesture, however, made you lose your composure instead.
"You seem nervous, is it the raft? Should I let you cross the river first?"
"No, no, it's safe," you said as you both stood on the either side of the raft, trying not to slip as you crossed the river holding tall pieces of bamboo to keep yourselves steady. "I guess I just feel sad that I'm leaving home for good," you say. It was true, but you couldn't bring yourself to admit that he made you flustered.
"I understand that this loop may close permanently as you leave," he said, "but in the Devil's Acre, you may train with other ymbrynes ang get the chance to create new loops, have wards of your own—"
"Train with other ymbrynes?" You exclaimed as the raft reached the other side of the river.
"Yes, they're rather lovely. Miss Avocet and all the other ymbrynes would love to guide you. I also believe my friends will celebrate your company. Horace will cook feast, Olive and Claire will surely entertain you, oh," he said, clearly excited, "the celebration will never be enough!"
"Are you kidding me?" You laughed soundlessly as you headed towards the forest. "Your presence alone is more than enough."
He did not reply anything for a moment and you bit your lip. Millard lead the way to another loop that was connected to the panloopticon. It was a silent but surprisingly comfortable walk. He told you to watch your steps in some parts of the forest and you give every useful information you had about your homeland.
"There it is, come here, y/n." He spotted the portal door propped amongst the old trenches of the place that was once bloodstained by war.
Shivers crawled down your spine as you paced forward. Millard noticed your uneasy expression and ran circles on your knuckles. "You can tell me if you don't want to come," he whispered gently, "we'll figure out another way if you're ever uncomfortable."
"Thank you, but I really want to go with you. I want to meet your family and read your books." A smile painted its way on your face just thinking about it.
Without another question, he lead you through the door while gripping your hand. You held your breath and let him guide your steps. His fingers traced your forehead and you opened your eyes.

"Where are we?" You stare at the plain, unfamiliar bedroom infront of you.
"The third floor of panloopticon," Millard said with a relieved sigh. "We just crossed half the world in a matter of seconds, I trust the kitchen will have something to ease our loop-lag."
Without even thinking about it, you pulled him in a hug. He caught his breath and wrapped his arms around you as you feel tears streaming down your face. You missed your country but don't regret being with this boy at all. "Thank you," you managed to whisper.
It had been less than a week since you first arrived. Millard's friends were the kindest people you have ever met. The first time you saw Miss Peregrine, she was furious at Millard for running off without permission, but her mood changed when she met you and realized you were an ymbryne too. You were immediately recruited in Miss Avocet's academy and made friends with many other people in the Acre. You get along very well with Miss Wren who was interested in your peculiarity and the fact that you lived in a menagerie loop in Asia.
Desolations came and you stayed in the Ditch House with Millard reading books for you. While it was raining blood, bones and ashes outside, you were having the time of your life with your new family.
You stayed in the Academy while the rest of Miss Peregrine's wards take on their adventure to France, giving all your best wishes for Millard.
You fought in the battle of the Devil's Acre and tended to the injured with the other ymbrynes-in-training. When you heard the news that Caul was defeated, you were elated and incredibly happy.
You were one of the ninety-five peculiars who broke loop-bound in Jacob's house. You could finally go anywhere you like without the fear of aging forward rapidly, and Millard promised many trips with you, you could only shut him up with a peck on the cheek.

So many good things happened to you that week, but nothing could beat the joy you felt when you found out that the ymbrynes-in-training are to live with Miss Cuckoo, and Miss Peregrine and her wards in Cairnholm.
You stare at the dog roses in Fiona's garden, you were filled with mixed emotions and wanted a quiet time. All of them are celebrating inside the house; all except Millard, who was wearing a velvet smoking jacket for the occasion.
"It's beautiful here," you said while watching his clothes head your way, "you must be happy that you're home."
"You are my home," he said sincerely, now standing in front of you.
You couldn't grab any witty reply, in fact, you couldn't find any words at all. You knew you were blushing ferociously by now.
"Mind if I talk to you about something that's been bothering me for a while?" He broke the silence and you nod at him.
"With everything we went through these past weeks, I found myself hoping to stay alive."
You stifled a laugh. "Isn't that a good thing? Wishing you'd survive?"
"That's the point, I wanted to stay alive, not just because we ought to take surviving as a priority, but because I can't get you out of my mind."
Your face went blank. "What do you mean, Millard?"
"I wish it was a choice, but it wasn't. I fell in love with you, Y/n. I'd love you for as long as time."
"And we have time," you reassured him, "I love you too," and with that, he kissed you.
Both smiling into the kiss, you leaned against each other, swaying in the breeze of the garden and basking in each other's presence forevermore.

Natasha Romanoff x Reader : Prove Me Wrong
Summary: She can trust you, even if she doesn’t know it yet.
Warning: 18+ Mental Health, Mentions of Death, Mentions of Violence, Mentions of Domestic Abuse, Smut
y/ht - your hometown
Chapter 3
******
You can’t lie and say you weren’t a little scared.
It’s been two days since you confronted Natasha about missing her sessions and your mind has been reeling since then.
Perhaps it worked, or maybe your timing had changed, but you’d ended up seeing her around more. You would feel her eyes lingering on you when you passed by her.
She didn’t spend too long around you, just yesterday the two of you were in the kitchen together and before you could muster up the courage to say “morning” she was gone.
Today is Friday.
The second you wake up you’re blinded by the sunlight pouring through the windows. Had you not kept yourself up last night with anxious thoughts of today you would’ve taken the intrusion like a champ, blinking through the pain of the light, and jumping up with fervor.
But since that’s exactly what you did, you grimace at the light, and fall back on to the bed. You sling your arm over your eyes to secure the darkness around you and let yourself lay there thoughtlessly for a moment.
‘Miss Y/L/N you have a scheduled appointment with Agent Romanoff in one hour.’
Damn you for inputting your schedule into F.R.I.D.A.Y’s system.
“Thanks F.R.I.D.A.Y.”
A single minute ticks by and you fling yourself out of bed.
The shower you take helps to ease your state of mind, but you’re not fully relaxed until you take your first sip of tea. As usual, the warmth of it does wonders to your body and you hum in enjoyment.
Feeling like you’re now ready to face whatever is about to happen, you leave out of the kitchen.
When you enter your office you startle.
Natasha stands at your filing cabinet, back facing you, as she fingers through a manila folder.
“Stark made sure to put everything in here.” She comments, making no move to look at you.
Heart still pounding, you think of a reply,“ that’s what he said.”
The woman’s shoulders bounce when she scoffs,“ still playing at that huh? Do you think I believe that you didn’t read this?”
Your prolonged silence makes her finally look at you. She takes in your incredibly comfortable looking outfit, gaze lingering on the fuzzy animal designed socks, then snapping up to your face to see nothing. There was no expression there, just you watching her as she does you.
“Help yourself to any of the snacks in the cabinet or the drinks in the fridge,” you step around your chair to the other filing cabinet to pull out the empty notebook you had intended to use for her sessions,“ and feel free to make yourself comfortable Miss Romanoff.” You gesture to the couch against the wall.
Deciding not to let her intimidate you, you sit in your chair and stick your feet underneath you. All the while Natasha continues watching you.
Truthfully, with the knowledge that she’s already made up her mind on you, you wonder what’s making her watch you so intently.
When the woman moves to stand behind you, the hairs on your neck stand up. Goosebumps erupt, not in a sexual tension kind of way, but in a ‘she could kill me right now and I’d be helpless’ way. But you aren’t scared.
She leans down, arms crossing as she rests against the back of your chair.“ I don’t trust you Y/L/N. I don’t trust someone who doesn’t have a dark side.”
You shake your head,“ you don’t trust me because you don’t know me.”
“I think I do.”
“Tell me.”
Finally she walks around you. Instead of sitting on the couch, she sits on the coffee table directly in front of you.
“You were born in y/ht, father wasn’t around so your mother moved the two of you to New York. You went to a fancy little school in Brooklyn and had doors opened for you all throughout your academic career. Since you were born with your empathic abilities you automatically felt like you should help people so you majored in Phycology and Sociology and became a therapist after you graduated.”
Listening intently to everything she says almost makes you laugh, but you know she’s serious and you don’t want to insult her in anyway.
Sitting forward, you lean on your knees,“ it seems you didn’t extend to me the same courtesy I did you.” She quirks a brow.“ Anyone can read my file Miss Romanoff. That doesn’t mean you know me. They’re facts of my life sure, but that’s not who I am.”
Before you indulge her clearly curious mind, you sip at your tea, slightly enjoying making her wait.
Natasha isn’t stupid, you never even began to think that. She prides herself on knowing things so of course she looked into you before you even entered the building most likely. But as you said, a file can’t tell you who a person is.
“My name is y/f/n. I was in y/ht. My dad was around, always drinking and waiting to kick the crap out of myself and my mom, which resulted in me sleeping in a locked closet to avoid his anger. When I turned ten my mom finally left him and we moved to Brooklyn.”
She would never admit to being shocked by that but you feel that she is.
You continue,“ I did go to a fancy school but not a single door opened for me that I didn’t open myself. My powers manifested right before I enrolled in school, so when I got there my brain lit up like a power plant and I had no idea what to do about it. I struggled to get through school every day because it was too much to feel everyone’s emotions all at once. Which means my grades were shit for a long time.
I just barely made it through school and lucked into graduating. I didn’t learn how to handle my powers until college. Also, I became a therapist because I know if I had someone to talk to growing up I would’ve felt a hell of a lot better and decided that I’d like to help people in the way I hadn’t been. And for the record, I don’t use my powers with my patients unless given explicit consent to do so.”
Her mind is full of thoughts. She’s processing everything you’ve told her and trying to understand how she had missed all of that.
Natasha has been learning how to read people her whole life. She’s mastered the ability to conceal her true emotions behind what she want’s people to see and thought she knew how to detect when someone else was doing the same.
Apparently she wasn’t that good at it. Or she is and you’re just really good at hiding.
The sound of a plastic wrapper opening grabs her attention and she looks at you.
You bite into the sweet little pastry before looking at her,“ oh did you want one?”
She shakes her head.
Chewing and swallowing, you speak up again,“ you didn’t know because I didn’t want you too. I’m here to help the team, they all have more than enough going on, they don’t need to be feeling guilty about unloading their issues on someone who’s had a shitty hand as well. Besides I’ve worked past it and I refuse to let that define me.”
“I imagine it’s not easy to take on their emotions as well as your own.” She acknowledges.
“Nothing I can’t handle. And it’s worth it regardless of it’s difficulty.”
“Tony brought you in, I take it you worked with him before then?”
You shrug,“ we’ve spoken off the record a couple of times. I met him through Pepper who was my previous patient.”
She nods, just barely looking intrigued by that.
It’s quiet between the two of you for a while.
In said time you finished your tea, ate yet another snack, and reorganized Sam’s files(the man had taken it upon himself to put them away after your last session and started reading them, of course he didn’t put them back in the proper order).
Just as you’ve decided to go get some more tea she speaks up.
Her eyes had been on you this whole time, only now they lock with yours,“ you should lock your filing cabinets. It’s careless to leave them open for anyone to get to.”
“They are locked. Only myself and the patient who the cabinet belongs to can open it. Fingerprint scanners are on the underside of every handle.”
She narrows her eyes at you,“ how’d you get my fingerprints?”
You don’t answer, just giving her a smirk instead.
No, you can’t answer because you don’t know where they really came from. While talking to Tony about securing the files you’d obviously thought keys but he said that was too much and that he’d “handle” it.
Somehow he got the teams fingerprints and yours. But you shouldn’t have expected anything less of the genius billionaire.
“I’m going to get some more tea, if you plan to stay, would you like something?” You ask, stopping with your hand on the door.
Natasha nods,“ tea.”
When the door shuts behind you, you release a breath that you felt like you’d been holding the whole time. You drop your head, looking at your shoes as you think.
You don’t think she’s playing at any angle, in fact you know she isn’t. But you also know she’s avoiding.
You can be patient though. She’ll run out of things to ask you and if not you know exactly how to gain control of a conversation.
Deciding you didn’t want her to come find you lingering outside the door like a weirdo, you walk away.
Tony, Steve, and Bucky are in the kitchen when you get there.
“T, glad you’re here, I need a coffee maker in my office.”
He looks from Steve to you,“ I was wondering when you’d ask for one. Thought you were a robot for a minute there.”
You roll your eyes, greeting Steve and Bucky instead of replying,“ morning Steve, morning Buck.”
“More like afternoon but hey.” Bucky says.
Eyes wide, you look to the clock on the wall. It is indeed two in the afternoon. There’s no way you were in there that long with Natasha. You swear it was much shorter than that.
“Everything okay?” Steve asks, noticing the frown on your face.
You nod,“ just lost track of time.”
Tony scoffs,“ Romanoff givin you a run for your money huh.”
“I don’t discuss my patients Tony.”
No one misses the fact that you’re fixing two cups of tea though and that does make them wonder how you’re doing with Natasha.
While she hadn’t spoken to you she obviously talked to her team so they were privy to the way she felt about going to see you. Steve was worried that she’d be less than nice to you and Tony just knew she wouldn’t take to you too well.
He also knows you so he was sure you would get to her eventually.
Once you’re finally finished up you smile to each of them and leave out.
Entering your office this time, you partly expect her to be gone. So you’re just barely surprised to find her resting against your desk, flicking through the notebook you were writing in for her.
“I’m consciously deflecting in order to avoid addressing my traumas.” Her gaze flickers up to you,“ and what traumas do you think I’m avoiding Y/N?”
You move forward, stepping lightly, until you stop in front of her. Handing her a cup of tea you tilt your head a little,“ you tell me. While some people know exactly how to push trauma away, almost avoiding it completely, you accept yours and use it as motivation.”
A small, adorable hum leaves her lips as she sips the tea, but it’s quickly forgotten when she looks at you with those piercing green eyes. It’s clear she want to hear what else you have to say, but you’d much rather she talk.
“Miss Romanoff, I can only observe you and make my own conclusions but I’d much rather know the truth. And only you can tell me that. So I’m listening, whenever you’re ready to address the issue.”
With that said, you smile softly, and go to sit on the couch. Your actions cause Natasha to raise a brow. Admittedly she’s not sure why you chose to sit there instead of your own chair.
Simply put, you did so for her to feel comfortable. It’s clear Natasha feels comfortable when she’s in control and you’ve deduced that she doesn’t feel completely in control with you.
Giving her your seat is your way of handing her control. You’d learned that while the seat doesn’t mean control in itself, usually the person sitting in it(you in this case) drives the conversation. That’s how patients feel, in the beginning at least. It’s all mental really but it’s the best you can do.
Cautiously, Natasha sits in your chair.
“I see nothing wrong with being motivated by the past.” She starts, her eyebrow quirking challengingly.
You shrug,“ neither do I. I’m motivated by my past. But objectively speaking I believe your past is holding you back more than it motivates.”
“And let me guess, you can’t tell me how.” She smirks as if she’s won something.
“Nope,” you pop the P in the word and smile back.“ But that’s because I don’t know anything about you. We both know the only way that’ll change is if you trust me. And that will only happen if you keep coming to see me.”
When she stands to leave you’re expecting it.
“You know Miss Romanoff,” she stops at the door to look at you,“ I may not have dealt with issues such as the ones you and your team have presented me with, but I am qualified to do this job. I find it slightly offensive that you don’t trust me to.”
Just like before your words leave Natasha thinking that she has definitely misjudged you. And she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t intrigued by you.

Love Birds-- Malcolm Bright x Reader
Prompt; none! :P
Warnings; bit of language as usual, shitty writing also as usual
Word Count; 1.6k
Notes; me? already obsessed with Prodigal Son? its more likely than you think
Tumblr media
The young detective shoved his hands in his pockets and grimaced. The wind had picked up quite a bit since he left the office, and it was growing to be a rather cold day. Malcolm considered calling a taxi but decided against it. He was only a couple of blocks away from his apartment, and a walk would give him time to clear his head. He enjoyed his daily walks. It gave him a sense of routine in his abnormal life. His route stayed the same, never varied. A loud thud, followed by a muffled shout, halted his train of thought. Most of the people walking along the sidewalk ignored it, but curiosity got the better of Malcolm. The commotion came from a pet shop a few feet ahead of him. He stepped forward and peered through the large, front window.
“Trevor, you fuckin’ idiot. We’ve talked about this! That’s a window, and you can’t fly through it.” The bird you cradled in your hands whistled and chirped before angrily flapping its wings. “You better not back talk me, young man! Or so help me, you’ll get no treats for the rest of the week,” you scolded. The parrot scaled your arm and settled onto your shoulder. “Oh, so now you’re gonna be all sweet and cuddly,” you huffed.
“Uh-oh. Look out,” Trevor chirped. You glanced over to see a man standing outside the shop, watching you intently. You gave him a sheepish smile and waved before quickly busying yourself. You silently prayed that he couldn’t hear you talking to the bird from outside. As you picked up a few items that Trevor had knocked over in his escape attempt, the bell over the door jingled. “Incoming!” You shushed the bird and called out the typical greeting.
“Welcome to Patty’s Pet Stop, how can I help you?” Your customer service smile faltered only slightly when you realized it was the man from moments earlier. As if he sensed your unease, he introduced himself.
“I’m Malcolm Bright, and I was just coming in to tell you that you’ve got a beautiful bird there.” He nodded towards Trevor, who started whistling in response. Malcolm grinned at the parrot’s reaction.
“Thanks! He’s a handful, though. Do you have one?” Malcolm glanced around the shop, eyeing the various birds for a moment.
“No, always wanted one as a kid, but I never actually got one.” He glanced at his watch. “I better get going. Nice meeting you...” he trailed off. You introduced yourself. Malcolm gave you a small nod and left the shop.
As the days went on, Malcolm found himself thinking about your pet shop. His gaze would wander to the large window as he walked passed it on his way to and from work. He was curious, to say the least. There was something about you that intrigued him. Whenever you caught his gaze, you would wave at him. It soon turned into part of the routine. If he saw you working inside, the two of you would wave at each other. He would occasionally bump into you when you were clocking in or out, but you two never ever had any interactions outside of the pet shop.
It was an average day for you. Started off fairly busy. The regular customers came in to pick up some pet food, treats, or a toy for their furry companions. As the clock drifted towards the afternoon, less and less customers came in. Though, you didn’t mind as much. The slow afternoons allowed you to read a book or scroll through various meme accounts online. When you heard the bell above the door jingle, you quickly put away your phone and said the typical greeting. The man who entered was wearing a comically large coat with the collar popped up and had a toboggan pulled low on his head. He had an odd vibe that you just couldn’t quite describe. You knew there was something wrong about him, but you just brushed it off. After all, you were living in New York City. This wouldn’t be the first time an unusual character came into the shop. The man grabbed a glittery mouse and tossed it onto the counter. You scanned the tag and gave him the total before asking, “Would you like me to put this in a bag for you?” He began rummaging through a pocket on the inside of his coat.
“Yeah and... uh... put the cash in there too.” The man pulled out a small gun, placing it on the counter. He angled himself so his body blocked it from the view of an outsider. It felt as if your heart dropped into the pit of your stomach. You tried to swallow the lump in your throat, but your mouth was too dry. As you turned towards the cash register, you caught sight of a familiar face outside the window, but you quickly looked down.
Malcolm’s brows knit together. It was obvious that you were scared. From your tense body moments, to your wide eyes and shallow breaths, you were exhibiting all the classic signs of terror. The man standing in front of you drew most of Malcolm’s focus. He was behaving strangely. The man kept shifting his weight and glancing over his shoulder. He was impatient, waiting to get out of there as soon as he could. The pieces came together like a child’s puzzle in Malcolm’s mind. It wasn’t difficult for him to see what was going on. The shop was being robbed.
Your head snapped up when the familiar jingle of the door’s bells echoed through the shop. Malcolm was texting on his phone, paying neither you nor the robber any attention. The man quickly put the gun back inside his coat. “Hey, (Y/N), has the-- uh-- bird seed I ordered come in yet?” Malcolm glanced up from his phone, and you stared at him with wide eyes. He raised a brow at you, then you finally caught on.
“Oh, yeah, it just came in earlier. It’s in the back if you would like me to run grab it for you.”
“After we finish,” the robber huffed. You nodded and apologized. Malcolm kept his facade of being a regular customer, walking over to the parakeet enclosure. He kept asking you questions about them, which caused you to occasionally pause what you were doing and answer him. The robber finally grew aggravated, pulling the gun out once again. He waved it between the two of you. “Just shut up and give me the fuckin’ money!” You quickly handed the bag over, and the robber dashed out of the shop. The police arrived not long after, and they managed to track the guy down. After you gave them your statement, you approached Malcolm.
“I’m assuming you were the one who called the cops?” He gave you a lopsided grin.
“Guilty as charged.”
“Thanks. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t shown up. Probably would’ve had a mental breakdown in the middle of that fiasco.” Malcolm scoffed and shook his head.
“Glad that didn’t happen. Things probably wouldn’t have worked out so well for you.” You leaned against the counter and crossed your arms.
“Since you’re my knight in shining armor for the day, I guess I owe you one.” Malcolm hummed, mulling it over. He motioned you to follow and led you over to the parakeet enclosure.
“What do you think about these little guys?”
“They’re usually recommended as good beginner birds, but they’re pretty skittish at first. With good care, they can actually be quite loving and live for about ten years.” The detective nodded, eyeing the little birds. You noticed that there was one in particular that caught his attention. It was a small, yellow one, resting on the perch. You carefully reached into the enclosure and pulled it out. Malcolm gently pet it with his thumb, and his eyes lit up when it chirped at him. You caught sight of his shaking hands but didn’t mention it. “Do you want to hold her?” He held out his hands, and you carefully put the tiny creature in his care. As he cradled it, you noticed his hands stilled ever so slightly. “How about this... You take care of the needed supplies, and you can have her. On the house, as a thank you.”
“Stop by my apartment to help me set everything up and you’ve got yourself a deal.” Malcolm shifted his gaze from the parakeet to you. You smiled at him and agreed to the terms. You placed the bird in a temporary carrier while you showed Malcolm the things he needed for his new feathery friend. After he paid for everything, you closed up shop.
When the two of you arrived at his apartment, you told him everything he needed to know about taking care of birds. Malcolm swore that he could put the cage stand together on his own, but after fifteen minutes of trial and error, he finally gave in to your help. The parakeet finally had its own little home, and you smiled as it hopped around. “Look at her, just a little ball of sunshine.”
“Sunshine,” Malcolm hummed, “That’s her name.” He grinned, and you couldn’t help but chuckle at his creativity. “You know, since I don’t really know what I’m doing with caring for a bird, maybe you could stop by more often. Have a couple drinks, teach me about all things bird related.”
“As in, going on a date?”
“Depends on what your answer would be,” he quipped with a smirk.
“In that case, I’d love to.”

Conton City Lockdown
Summary: Time patrollers have returned from missions carrying an unknown disease and infecting others denizens of Conton City with it, forcing Trunks and Supreme Kai of Time to shut down most operations and training around the City and drastically limit missions for a while until they can get everything under control. Everyone is instructed to stay inside their assigned domiciles until further notice. “Who knows what that could do to the timeline if Patrollers pass it on during a mission?!” Supreme Kai of Time urges Conton. The Conton City Hero has also been quarantined with her current Master, Goku much to both their dismay as there was still so much training left. What other shenanigans can the two saiyans get themselves into while being all cooped up.
Word Count: 2,164 (Chapter 2) AO3 Rating: Mature Warning: (  explicit language ) A/N:   Did I yadda yadda some saiyan lore around a story line where anything can happen and be logically possible when time travelling and universe hopping exist on a regular basis? You bet your sweet monkey tail having arse. This one was a little shorter, but the Gitchie, gitchie, ya-ya returns next chapter.
Chapter 2
You're not too keen on traveling to the other world of your own free will just yet. It was barely a pleasant experience travelling to Hell to correct the hitch in the timeline before. Not to mention the Parallel Quests assigned to you to investigate. For a place so colorful and vast...it was Hell. No need to see more of it or anything like it for a while. Your Training Master making the suggestion to travel with him to King Kai's is immediately met with a hard pass. Yes, you had eventually brought out the tracksuit he left behind a while ago as a spare pair of clothing for him. And as predicted he recalled the dead Kai's humble planet. "No one goes there but me, anyways" He pointed out as a matter of fact, "There was no way a dead Kai was going to get sick". As quickly as he could put on the clothes after cleaning up from your passionate moments, he bid you farewell for now and was gone. Leaving you with just the phantom traces of his rough hands abusing your skin and sloppy kisses all over your face and neck. It had only been hours following the powerful experience and you couldn't believe how much you missed his presence already.  It would go against your nature to have begged him to stay simply because you wanted to stay close to him a little longer. Maybe the time separated was needed to give you some time to think it over. Goku was your Trainer, after all. Not only yours, either. But he had always praised you as his star pupil. Never have you felt selfish of another person before and blamed it all on still being caught up in the heat of the moment.
As the time passed on and the new day surely came to its expected end, right as you were ready to accept that you were going to be here alone for a while, Goku's energy instantly fills the space and he reappears in front of you. His skin sweaty and tracksuit filthy from his work out, but with that delighted smile of his. Your heart fluttered, not expecting him to return so soon. In his hand was a bundle of boxed food made by the North Kai. What you assumed was some portion of food he saved for himself for later was brought specifically for you. Without warning, you climbed the larger Saiyan with a single leap when he said it, crashing your mouth onto his and practically mounted him right then, his sore muscles and all. Nothing sharing the lunch he brought afterwards didn't fix.
The few days following Goku's awakening into this "new hobby" has been a very informative bonding experience for the two of you. And now you were sure he was trying to kill you with it. Of course, you bring it on yourself having to be the initiator, the latter still not quite able to pick up on your cues or innuendos to jump start a good time. You'd make it clear to him in your frustration after you toss playing coy out the window and spell it out to him. That aggressive tone you embody that would put off anyone else yet it only seemed to make the Saiyan feel embarrassed for his short-comings in the whole thing, but thrilled for the shared pleasure. Goku's gentleness in his approach to it sometimes leaves you somewhat unsatisfied, not that he never made up for in the long run, and boy does he, but he was never just right when you needed him to be.
Granted, your wild fantasy stems from the raunchy mangas you have filled your spare time with, you know the Earthly Saiyan has it in him. He just missuses it. When you want him to challenge your forwardness and press his hard, trained body against yours, squeeze your smaller frame to fit to his and stare you down with his feral eyes, he's tenderly rubbing into the curves of your back and tail, and placing these little warm kisses into your face and neck. But when you want to take it slower after being driven into at different angles and your body aches from the constant stimulation, he does not relent nor does your burning saiyan blood and sex-drunk mind carry the sense to yield even when the azure color fills his eyes and the golden hue vibrates across the outline of his body threatening to revitalize him for another go. You just wanted to see that savage vigor from beginning to end, and then the gentleness can follow.
It was the closest thing the two of you had to training together these days, a challenge of endurance and control. Still, not a day went by you weren't longing for Supreme Kai of Time or the Elder Kai to summon you back to the Time Nest for another special mission. With all the going on of the disease and that creep Fu on the loose as well, work was going to be non-stop to catch up when it was finally okay to head out again and you were looking forward to scratching that fighting itch once more. The worry settling in your bones and the daily complaint of your "cell mate" begging for the same release were beginning to make you stir-crazy. You had to distract him for your sake and his. One more 'It's already been "so-and-so" days, when's it gonna be over?' and you were going to put him through a wall.
Being saiyans on opposite ends of the spectrum did well to draw attention away from the quarantine, as well. You found yourself more intrigued with this version's history that lead him to the man he is today. You know the basics, all the scouted Time Patrollers do, but this variant of the Z Warrior lead a life not too similar with the story and still comes out more powerful than ever. You pressed him for answers, idle chat through the "parrying" game you came up with to keep your focus sharp. Goku sits in front of you with both his hands  held up as you try to punch your fists pass them. There was no concern you would land anything. The way he misdirects your fists with hardly a flinch in his posture was pure instinct. As you sat across from him, fists up as you try to think 3 steps ahead and contemplate which one to throw at him, you finally asked.
"What's it like? Living with Earthlings? " Hoping your sudden question would give you the opening you need, throwing a right hook only to be swatted to his right. You recoil back into your stance, continuing. "I didn't grow up on Planet Vegeta either, but I was still raised around other saiyans."
"Really? I thought all of you were coming from another Planet Vegeta in the time-space holes you guys are always working on. I'd love to see what kind of strong warriors you got there, especially if they're as strong as you!" Another success block as you come at him from the right again. "As for Earth, it's pretty amazing! We don't have many saiyans, but we got a pretty strong batch of fighters. If not for guys like Piccolo, Raditz or Vegeta, we would never know how much stronger we could become. But when we're not fighting to get stronger and everything's at peace, it can be pretty beautiful. A little too quiet for me, but I wouldn't want to have it any other way so long as I can always get a good fight in every once in a while. Not to mention all the awesome food!"
Agreed, Earth definitely had some of the best food you ever had in your whole life and was grateful for its abundance here in Conton City. There was so much flavor, and the different consistencies all coming together to make something you couldn't hardly put it into words. It made your mouth water just thinking about it.  "What about you, (y/n)?" The Saiyan asks.
"In my timeline, I grew up on Planet Stock. A sub colony of Saiyans our King Vegeta colonized in secret from King Cold as a gift to the Young Prince who would one day rise as a formidable foe to that tyrant Cold and his heirs. Then he would rule over Stock as his own kingdom while Planet Vegeta acted as our hub world. Or... at least that was the plan. One day our planet suddenly stopped getting responses from Planet Vegeta, not even the best scouters could detect it anywhere. Like it disappeared. It was only after I became a Time Patroller I found out Frieza destroyed it." Your fists visibly clench tighter as you opt for a left punch this time. Rather than parrying it this time, Goku catches it in his hand.
"Frieza always prides himself on that. I'm sorry." Your Master offers looking down at you with a softer gaze. You look up from your focal point to see his stare and look away.
"It doesn't matter. Knowing what I know now, even if Planet Vegeta and Stock had hundreds and hundreds of our best warriors there to defend against Frieza's attack, we would be worse for it. I've seen it.. " You withdraw your fist from his hold and roll your shoulders. "And Lord Beerus will destroy us all for it." You lower your stance and release your tensed hands. It's not easy to think that letting one monster destroy the home world of your people was better than the God of Destruction wiping out both worlds. Besides, the scroll of time deemed it the most accurate that Frieza gets to do it. You're still pushing against the Elder Kai and Supreme Kai of Time to use the Dragon Balls to restore Planet Vegeta.
"It's never easy to make decisions like that. There's not a moment I don't think back on the times when I was at my limit and felt like I was gambling with the lives of my friends and the people of earth in order to win a fight. But I always find a way to push through and save everyone. I even thought letting Cell blow me up would spare everyone. " He laughs, but it sounded a little more morose than his usual joy, making you turn your gaze back towards him. "I was foolish, when I had fought Cell we were evenly matched until I used my Kaioken attack and managed to knock Android 18 of him. I gave him a chance to give up and leave the planet and instead I put everyone else in danger.. I even thought if I stayed in the Other World, Earth would be a better place. We still had Piccolo to keep an eye on everything, and Vegeta too. Oh, and Trunks, too! He was going to grow up someday and be a strong warrior just like his father. Everyone else could live the life they wanted."
Goku extends his large hand and cups your small cheek into its curve, you leaning into the warm touch, "Your heart's in the right place. I see why everyone puts so much faith in you to do your best." His smile grows and your cheeks glisten with a pink hue. You avert your eyes as your insides flutter up again to avoid his knowing eyes.
"--W-Whatever, don't go getting all sentimental on me." You shrug trying to fight off your own smile. You raise your fist and give him a playfully nudge on his chin. "See, you're leaving yourself wide open. Keep this up and I'll surpass you in no time." Goku's bright laughter comes full force and he takes your first in his hand again.
"So long as you keep training, I'm sure you will." He brushes your fist pass his lips and delicately places a kiss to your battle-hardened knuckles. "I'll be sure to get stronger, too."
That sounded romantic coming from him, the blush on your face spreading but you keep trying to play it off. A little soft touch...actually does a lot to you. Your chest and your belly are bouncing such a warmth back and forth but it's different from wanting him to pin you down with all his strength and bury himself to the hilt inside you. Just his hand on your cheek and wrapped around your fingers as his lips caressed them was so...fulfilling. Even his laugh, once this goofy sound to your ears was now a blissful tone to your very soul. The Savior of Earth, this immortalized hero across the timelines made you feel like you were blooming. The sensation was only shaken by the sudden growl of his stomach, prompting him to laugh nervously "Whoops, guess I'm hungry again."
You laugh too and shake your head. "Fine, but dishes are on you this time."
