I have definitely made one similar to this one before….

An AU where the Elements of harmony are more like really important titles given to those by the tree of harmony, basically a deity of harmony and order. Other deities do this as well. Celestia and Luna have the Celestial guard. Discord has the discorded. Cadence has some that are currently unnamed, she’s thinking she’s new at this!

Twilight Sparkle is- Element of magic, assistant to the Sun, friend of the moon

Fluttershy- element of kindness, discord’s friend.

Apple Jack- element of honesty, current captain of the celestial guard

Rainbow Dash- element of loyalty, captain of the wonder bolts

Rarity- element of generosity, the Royal tailor

Pinkie pie- element of laughter, the royal chef

Shining Armor- once captain of celestial guard is now cadences husband and of her guard at the crystal empire.

Sunburst- The crystal empire librarian and wizard

Starlight glimmer- after rehabilitation from her time magic crimes, the celestial librarian and wizard. Eventually becomes Starswirls student after freed from limbo.

Star swirl- the adoptive dad of the celestial sisters and old celestial librarian and wizard before limbo.

The Harmony Tree

Sometimes the image transcends the imagist. To say anything at all is a mistake. But I don't feel that I am hitting too far off the mark if I say that Harmony cannot be purchased, stolen, forced or manipulated. It is bestowed only upon those of us who are ready for it. It only looks like this once, but it stays with you forever afterwards.

You will come to your own understanding that Light, Love, and Life itself are all one and the same. And that realization will be attended by an infinitely intense happiness that nothing can ever rob you of. Then the Alicorn Princesses of Equestria shall welcome you home.

Without any contrivance whatsoever, in it's own unique way, MLP FIM has gotten so many people who were down and out back up on their hooves again. And it has also gotten just as many young people off to a great start. Time will have to pass before we can clearly see the good effects that contact with Equestria has had upon humanity, and how much we owe the ponies.

Sometimes a story transcends the medium of its transmission.

The Alicorn Princesses of Equestria are 21st century, digital avatars of what is best in us, and they will not allow us to be consumed by what is worst in us. So long as I remember that they live on inside of me, and inside of you too, I cannot lose my faith that our story will unfold as it should.

Nature abhors a vacuum, so there will always be plenty of Equestria for every pony, whether they walk on four legs or on two.

Heavily impacted by the Not Deer(I based a lot of the bones on deer skeleton photos) and the fact that there’s a cool skull in the art lofts that I’m currently doing a charcoal piece of!

Welcome to this week's book haul! One of these new books is NOT like the others (listen, folks, Imogen's braided leather wrap on her Staff of Dark Odyssey isn't going to braid itself, and leatherworking info is surprisingly difficult to hunt down online). As you might notice, I'm also working on finishing my Katee Robert / Bonkers Romance Kickstarters collection.

I swear these last two weeks are an abnormally high number of books coming in (I discovered Mercari for special edition book resales, send your prayers for my bank account), but we'll see if time makes a liar out of me.

We are rounding out this week with our home library growing to contain a prestigious 1,388 books. Yes we do have another bookshelf coming in this week, no we don't have a problem <3

dear elements of cadence duology,

you’re the set of two books that rekindles a sense of escapism. with faith and a set of experiences so humbling. you’re the set of two books that choose nature’s balance, and essentially, share that the universe sends us challenges they know we’re strong enough to overcome.

An AU where Cadence and the Crystal Heart swap places and roles with the Tree of Harmony and the Elements of Harmony.

The Tree of Love, an ancient tree with crystals hanging from its branches that represent different types of emotions found in love. Love is a powerful thing isn’t it? (Elements are basically the same as canon. Kindness, generosity, laughter, honesty, loyalty. It all still applies. Even magic is probably the same, just a different shape.)

Princess Amity is the recently ascended alicorn of Friendship. She’s best friends with her bodyguard Twilight Sparkle, and used to babysit her little brother Shining Armor. She later on becomes the ruler of the Crystal Empire that has recently reappeared, realizing her connection to the Crystal Star. (The empire in this AU is powered by friendship)

Optional additions-

It’s a sibling swap AU. Luna is the Eldest and Celestia the youngest. Shining Armor becomes Luna’s personal student after he has a magical surge after the sonic rainboom.

Shining Armors cutie mark would be a blue heart surrounded by smaller hearts

Love is magic now instead of friendship. Friendship is technically a type of love but you get what I mean.

Shining Armor becomes the Alicorn of Love in this AU. His and his sisters names are probably different.

finished the elements of cadence duology by rebecca ross today and that was a lovely time. i find it really funny that the romances were presented to me as the selling point though (i really wanted to read a romance when i started this) because i cared far, far more about the plot in both of them.

the mystery in a river enchanted completely drew me in and the worldbuilding was charming and very very enjoyable. both books felt like folklore and like being told a folk tale, i could so easily imagine the magic coming from the pages. a fire endless took a bit longer for me to warm up to (ha), it was fine but i wasn't enjoying it as much as the first until about the 60% mark when it really, really took off. i finished it today and i kept bursting into tears in the last 20%!

the story in both was really really nice and i really enjoyed the characters. the romances, again, did feel a little lackluster to me? especially jack and adaira, i enjoyed their individual arcs but never really bought them as a couple until the later part of a fire endless unfortunately. torin and sidra felt much more real and i enjoyed their dynamic more, and them as characters as well. torin's growth in particular felt quite well done to me.

there were some plot threads in a fire endless that kind of felt dropped out of nowhere and that could have been resolved better (rab pierce anyone?) but overall, this was a really really nice time.
