Here is a throwback to a cosplay craft WIP that Meghan is really proud of: the Flower Crown for Nic's level 11 Nott the Brave cosplay. It's made with:
Stardream Pearlescent Metallic Paper (text weight) in Quartz with blue or yellow pastel watercolor splashes printed onto both sides for color variation. This paper line also has SO many pretty colors if you don't want to deal with printing on it.
Lia Griffith Double Sided Crepe Paper in Ferns/Moss for the leaves. Flipping between the sides adds nice variation!
Rustic Vine Brown Wire for the crown
Green Paper Covered Floral Wire in both 18 and 24 Gauge
My Cricut, Hot Glue, some Shaping Tools, and a whole lot of patience (especially for the fiddly lil guys)
There were a lot of liberties taken with resizing, but I cut everything using my Cricut Maker 3 and used the Crepe Paper Rose Bud and the Frosted Paper Forget-Me-Not patterns by Lia Griffith as a jumping off point.
Notably, I made all the flowers out of the Pearlescent Metallic Paper and only used Crepe Paper for the leaves to add texture! I source the Very Specific Metallic Paper (TM) on Cardstock Warehouse and papercraft tools on Felt, Paper, Scissors (I'm not sponsored, just a fan). I love the way the metallic paper catches the light and highly recommend varying your flower and leaf sizes even if you use a lot of the same patterns to make it feel more organic!

Oops! All Calebs!
Here is a throwback to the amazing Critter meet up at NYCC last year, where we met so so many amazing Caleb Widogast cosplayers. Nic had a lot of fun asking Caleb cosplayers if they wanted to look sad or forlorn while she gently cradled them. I feel like it really captures The Nott & Caleb Vibe (TM).
If you recognize any of the Calebs (or you are one!) let us know and we'll happily edit the post to tag you! We mostly know these lovely folks on instagram, so check out our posts there as well. Also, check out our nott the brave cosplay tag for notes on it's creation. Have a cosplay crafting question? Let us know and we'll happily make a guide!

The Dastardly Link to Our Newest Shirt
Also, for your convenience, some more dastardly links to the Perihelion University Shirt and the Sanctuary Moon Shirt as well ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is very important for you to understand that ART isn't Murderbot's friend. It doesn't do friends! It just provides Mutual Administrative Assistance.
Two Murderbot shirts were simply not enough! In celebration of the season finale and it getting renewed for a second season, we are dropping a brand new Murderbot design. Now you can be a part of ART's crew, rep Murderbot's favorite show, AND show your own not-bestie that you care with this heart made of circuitry.
If you don't know us yet, we're Polycraftory: your friendly neighborhood polycule of queer disabled creators! We make queer nerdy merch and talk a lot about our fav media and crafts on our blog. Reblogs go a long way to help us out <3 You can find the dastardly links directly to our Murderbot shirts in a reblog so that our favorite hellsite actually maybe shows our post to anyone ever???

i like the phrases "it's not for me," "it's not my thing," and "i'm not the target audience" because they're the most concise way to express "this thing that you enjoy has merits but idgaf about it" without being aggressive

You can take any book found in these stacks as a firm recommendation from us! Please please ask us about any of them, we never want to shut up about our favs <3 As always, you can the IDs with book titles and authors in the alt text.

Reminder to Request Queer Books from your Local Library
If you're panicking about the state of the world, one of the easiest ways to make a difference right now is engaging with your library.
There is a reason that libraries are targetted by fascists. They are sites of immesurable power. Both just on their own, and also because of their patrons. So first step is, if you haven't, sign up for a library card ASAP.
Next, find out how your library takes requests (almost all libraries do), and start filling out the forms. Make it a ritual, go through queer books that interest you (here is an affiliate link for 165 queer books to get you started), and request as many as you can. It also helps if you take queer books out. Both digitally and physically.
Many libraries have a system in place where they have to rebuy the rights to a digital copy of a book after a certain amount of borrows. This is not contingent on you reading every single book you check out. No one will know if you read it or not. Though, I will admit that reading the books is also a good strategy to keep you invested in this very important discussion.
Regardless of your personal reading habits, you have space to make real change in your community with just a small amount of effort. Borrowing and requesting queer books backs up the irrefutable fact that queer stories are worth telling, and it pays queer authors for their work. I will say it until my face is blue, request queer books, read queer books, and engage with your local library.

How did you spend your afternoon? We spent it looking through other people's shops to see just how many books we could get for the credit we had on Pango because we are Fine and Normal and definitely not minmaxing our book purchases.

The ehlers danlos syndrome person to historical costumer pipeline is or will be a thing and I shall explain why.
At some point one discovers that some sort of supportive structure around your torso feels incredibly comfortable and gives your tired muscles a rest. What’s the coolest and most non obtrusive torso bracing garment? A corset. Believe me when I say that when your torso has the structural integrity of a wet sack of jello, a tightly laced corset makes you feel like a god.
And because historical corsets tend to be more comfortable and are usually made with regular wear in mind, they are the natural choice.
Then you have the shoes. What shoes is someone with unstable ankles supposed to wear, you ask?Lace up boots, for stability. And due to their middle of the heel heel placement, historical lace up boots tend to be way more comfortable than the modern variety.Even the non healed ones, really. Couple that with the fact that Edwardian and Victorian boots are really really pretty…
And after the boots and the corset, it’s a very slippery slope.
Pretty soon you’ll be wondering how to hide your corset under your clothes for when an outer corset is not the vibe, and you’ll be buying yourself a corset cover. Or making one yourself. They’re a great starter project. But that looks weird with a fitted top so cool flowy blouse it is.
Then you realize wearing this with a skirt makes you feel intensely powerful but you don’t want to keep tripping over it so you add petticoats.
And then you realize your neck isn’t so great at holding up your head so you really need to find a hairstyle where your hair sits on top of your head instead of to the sides or to the back so that it’s balanced and you don’t get a neck ache. A high bun it is. Not too tightly, because your scalp is sensitive, but a high bun still works if you bobby-pin it in place.
And then one day, you look in the mirror and you’re dressed like Anne of Green Gables.
And you’ve never looked cooler.

I am looking so respectfully 👀 thank you for the rec
Tumblr media
We always need more sapphic romance in our lives and we've really been working to expand our sapphic library! Check the alt text for ID if you are having trouble with reading any of the authors or titles.
Some favs here that we want to highlight:
💜 Meghan is obsessed with AITA? by Cassie Alexander: a short and spicy romance between a demon and the fiancée of the guy that summoned her for a threesome.
❤️ Gabe would like to pitch you Junker Seven by @olivejkelley : anti-establishment space western starring T4T lesbians with a grumpy/sunshine vibe.
💛 One of Nic's top books of last year was Outdrawn by Deanna Grey: rivals-to-lovers webcomic artists falling in love when forced to work together again.
Do you have any sapphic favs we need to add to our library? 👀 Bonus points for a messed up dynamic, soft ladies kissing are great but give me that unhinged enemies to lovers edge 🔥
