What's the best season? I did really like season 6. The maya stuff was amazing and I loved the marina angst and slow burn. I loved vic being badass I hope we see her do more with crisis one, and there were some good calls aswell. As for the rest of s6 it was kinda average I hated the mayor storyline and Sullivan x ross. Season 4 will always be superior to me but others also had some good moments the earlier seasons are much better when it comes to actual firefighter stuff

I think it depends what you're looking for in a show and what you like/what interests you so the answer is subjective and will change depending on the person. Personally I think Season 4 is the best/my favorite because we had Maya as captain and Marina were great for the most part. They got engaged, married, they were domestic, we saw protective/worried Maya, we saw her help Carina through her grief, we saw them deal with jealousy/Gabriella (the convo at 4x08 was so good), there wasn't really much to be mad about. The only thing we can really point to is that Carina wasn't really involved in the show as a doctor/was mainly there as Maya's love interest but that starts to get better as the season(s) progress (though it can still get much much better.) But I remember specifically in the beginning of 4A there wasn't much Carina besides her at home with Maya but other than that, Season 4 was pretty great.

I would probably pick Season 6 next probably mostly because of Marina/Maya's arc and they had some decent calls but yeah, the mayor stuff was a drag and I don't care for Sullivan/Ross at all and Eli was such a dud. But it was still written pretty well for the most part though maybe it just seemed better after Season 5 because anything was going to look good after that lol.

And then Season 3 because the beginning of Marina and the stuff with Maya and her dad even if it was heartbreaking...though the way the team treats Maya in Season 3 is awful too so that's a rough watch.

Redemption Chapter 87 Labor

“How can I help?” Eli asks as she leans panting against him as they head into the hospital. She insisted on walking in and is now regretting that decision as her uterus is gripped, along with every other part of her body, by a contraction that makes it hard to breath. She is unable to answer him or Jade, who supports her other side.

Evie is with Mike and Elizabeth, probably telling poor Mark all about her coming nephew. She is glad she is somewhere safe, as Gabby knows she will be able to concentrate on nothing put getting this baby out. As the pain let's her go, she looks at her husband and best friend.

“Wheelchair.” She breathlessly tells them. Jade sprints off to fetch one. Eli holds her up as she tries to get her breath back.

“I would take it if I could.” He tells her. She nods. She knows he would but also knows this is her losd to bear.

Jade returns and they get her seated just in time as another contraction takes her over.

“Three minutes.” A concerned Eli sayz before sprinting her towards the automatic doors. She is panting and trying gamely nor to scream. She wishes he would wait but hasn’t the strength or voice to tell him. She clings to Jade's hand as she sprints beside her. They reach the elevator as it eases.

“Are you sure you wish to do this?” she asks Jade as they head up to L&D. Eli takes his eyes off Gabby and looks at Jade.

“Ah maybe.”

“You are?”

“Yes Eli. Jill and I have a plan. Just not sure after..” She stops when Gabby grabs her hand again.

“Owwwweee! Help!” The panic in her voice makes Jade fear they had almost waited to long. She kneels beside her.

“Look at me Gabby!” it is an order as a completely freaked Eli looks at them both. “You are the strongest lady I know. I know you can do this. Just breath with me. Gabriel needs oxygen. He is working hard too.” She does and still is when they exit the elevator. Breathing together, they catch the attention of the nurses at the desk.

“How far apart are the contractions?” one steps out to ask.

“Two minutes. First baby. We thought we had longer.” Eli quickly explains.

“Okay then. Let’sgo. Pre-registered?” she asks as she takes over the pushing of the wheelchair.

“Yes Gabriella Spencer.”

Then rush to a L,D, and R room. They nurse gets her In a gown between contractions. She tries to fight her, at the point of labor where she doesn’t want to be touched. Eli and Jade both try to sooth her.

“Don't fret,” the nurse tells Eli, who can’t figure out where his sweet wife went. “It is just transaction. They get very hypersensitive during this stage.”

She is placed in the bed where she looks at Eli with fear filled eyes. “I can’t do this Eli. I can’t. I want to go home.”

“Almost there sweetie.” The nurse tells her before running to fetch the doctor.

“Baby, I am here. Jade is here. God is here. You are not alone.”

“I am going to be sick!” she gasps out. Jade is quick, grabbing a trash can and getting it under her. She is sick and then tries to curl up around herself as the agony wracks her body again. “Damn Eve!” She calls out before starting to cry. Eli goes yo rub her back and she yells out,” Don't touch me!” This is when the doctor walks in.

“Transition for sure. Don't worry Eli. It is just the pain. Gabby honey, as soon as the pain eases, I am going to check you.”

She does and looks up with a grin. “You didn't leave me much to do. You are a hair away from complete dilation. Your son has your hair.”

“My son.” She is reminded why she is suffering. The pain takes back over. She screams, grabs Eli's hand and shivers as the pain washes over her again. Their doctor watches as the last of her cervix fades away.

“You can push with the next one.” She grunts, pushes herself on her knees. Eli joins her on the bed, and starts to rub her back. Jade sits where she can see her face. They are ready.

She grunts and pants as they encourage her. Eli whispers words of love, Jade tells her how wonderfully strong and brave she is, and the doctor by telling her how much progress she is making.

A button is pushed and a layette is pushed in. It farther motivates her. Gabriel Elijah is waiting to meet them.

“That's it. Just like that Gabby. Good job.”

“I love you. You can do it baby.”

“You are doing it. My wonderful brave Gabby.”

“One more and his head will be out.” A deep grunt and hard push. “Good. Pant through while I clean his nose and mouth. Excellent. One more.”

She feels him leave her body. A pulling feeling followed by a queer emptiness. Then the most incredible sound, a gasp and a lusty cry. “Happy birthday Gabriel Elijah Spencer.” She reaches down for him. Eli eases her back on her back and he is handed to her.

“Oh you were so worth it!” she coos to her son. Her hair but his daddy's green eyes. They look up at her as they bond. She feels Eli's tears fall on her arm as he holds them both. As she requested, there is no medical intervention, no drops placed in his eyes to break this moment. His cord is not immediately cut as it is still providing oxygen to him.

Just mommy, daddy, and Gabriel, bonding as her body naturally expels his first home.

thinking about how high school musical came out in 2006 and the young avengers got together in 2005 (even though time doesnt rlly exist in comics) and they probably all watched it together. this is my new purpose.

- eli absolutely refuses to admit how often he gets the songs stuck in his head (unless it is to express annoyance)

- everybody knows anyways, he hums it under his breath when he doesn't think they're listening

- kate is the one who made them all watch it together in the first place

- she has a DVD copy (she bought it as soon as it released) that she tries to play every movie night (she is often successful)

- she also definitely knows all the lyrics to every song and is the reason why eli gets them stuck in his head

- tommy purposefully blasts the soundtrack as loudly as possible, especially around eli

- cassie, on the other hand, likes to annoy her stepdad with blasting the soundtrack

- billy and tommy constantly argue over which version of 'what I've been looking for' is better

- (billy says it's the troy and gabriella version)

- (tommy knows it's the sharpay and ryan version)

- (they keep putting teddy in the middle of their arguments, poor guy)

- teddy thinks of "get'cha head in the game" every time he's playing basketball

- it actually helps, but he's half-worried he's going to break into song in the middle of a game

- bonus points because billy is also thinking about it everytime he watches teddy playing basketball

- teddy and eli try to recreate the beginning of the song on video (billy is recording) (tommy keeps trying to ruin it by running in front of the camera)

- cassie makes tommy learn the dance routine to 'bop to the top' with her and he loves it

- jonas/vision downloads the soundtrack to the mp3 in his system (which apparently he can do according 'the mighty avengers')

15.  Princess Madeleine in Valentino (Sweden, m. Christopher O’Neill, 8 June 2013)

The only thing I can say I hate genuinely about this dress is that it never sat right off her shoulders.  It looked like it was slipping and sliding all day.  Other than that, wow, this dress is gorgeous.  The color is beautiful, combined with that fantastic tiara and gorgeous veil.  Lace but not too much lace.  Absolutely beautiful! 

14.  Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby in Ove Harder Finseth (Norway, m. Crown Prince Haakon, 25 August 2001)

I love a simple wedding dress, and Mette-Marit really hit it out of the park with hers.  I love that she was involved with the design.  I love that she accessorized really minimally to let the dress and that fabulous veil shine.  The only thing I’d like to have seen is a bit more bling in the tiara, but she still looked absolutely beautiful!

13.  Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg in Oscar de la Renta (France/Austria, m. Prince Jean-Christophe Napoleon Bonaparte, 19 October 2019)

This dress is so far out of my comfort zone, but it is absolutely fabulous.  So quirky, so intricate - I’m in love!  It’s classic Oscar de la Renta and it fits her beautifully.  I’m not a fan of what the cape does in the chest area and I would never, ever wear this myself but it’s a work of art!  Absolutely fabulous!

12.  Camilla Parker-Bowles in Anna and Robinson Valentine (United Kingdom, m. The Prince of Wales, 9 April 2005)

I think this is stunning for a second wedding.  The color, the gold accents, the classic Philip Treacy headpiece - absolutely magnificent.  It looks bridal without being juvenile, and it’s gorgeous while still being appropriate for the occasion.  I’ve always loved it!

11.  Crown Princess Victoria in Pär Engsheden (Sweden, m. Daniel Westling, 19 June 2010)

The combination of the simplicity of Victoria’s gown with the Cameo tiara and that gorgeous, intricate bouquet is exquisite.  The Cameo needed something simple to let it shine and Victoria and Engsheden did not disappoint.  The color and material were perfection and this is how you do an off-the-shoulder short-sleeved look!  Combined with no necklace to really let the whole look shine, this is one of my favorites!

10.  Beatrice Borromeo in Armani Privé (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 1 August 2015)

This is the first of three (yes, three) mentions of Beatrice Borromeo on this list.  She’s gorgeous and would have made a beautiful bride wearing a trash bag but this dress is something else.  It’s classic bridal with just a touch of high fashion and I love it.  That lace is so, so delicate, only someone as graceful as Beatrice could have pulled it off.  Her veil is gorgeous and although I missed a tiara, she’s literally sparkling in the delicate, shimmery fabric!

9.  Catherine Middleton in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (United Kingdom, m. Prince William, 29 April 2011)

What a love affair the world has with this dress, the modern icon of all wedding dresses!  It would have been easy to overwhelm Kate’s figure with a full skirt, but Sarah Burton nailed the proportions perfectly.  The lace is exquisite from her neck to her shoes.  I love how she brought back lace sleeves in bridal fashion.  The peplum detail on the back of the skirt is incredible.  It fit her like a second skin in the best way and she looked every bit the fairytale princess walking down the aisle.  Her veil was just the right length, too - not too long but not too short.  It’s no wonder this is the new iconic wedding dress!

8.  Meghan Markle in Clare Waight-Keller for Givenchy (United Kingdom, m. Prince Harry, 19 May 2018)

I’ve said before that I love a simple wedding dress, and Meghan did not disappoint.  The boat neckline was so flattering on Prince Harry’s bride, and the color and fabric were just the right combination for her.  I stood on the Long Walk during their carriage procession, and I could see Meghan coming from a mile away because she was literally shimmering in the sunlight.  I wish it was better tailored - my only true grievance - but everything else was gorgeous.  And that veil!  What can I say about that veil?  It literally sparkled in the sunlight going up the stairs to the chapel.  I can’t say enough - and the fact that it included a patch of the dress they wore on their first date?  My heart!!  If this was better tailored, it would have been top 5.

7.  Princess Eugenie in Zac Posen (United Kingdom, m. Jack Brooksbank, 12 October 2019)

The first reception dress of the list!  Eugenie’s ceremony dress was pretty, but not my style.  This, however... how could one go wrong with a pale blush cape dress that fit her perfectly?  She looks like an ethereal goddess, like she’s descended from the clouds to grace us with her presence.  The color is magnificent, the fabric so delicate.  I don’t know how it’s possible to look so beautiful and so comfortable at the same time, but Eugenie and Zac Posen really pulled it off.  This was such a pleasant surprise when comparing it to her ceremony dress - I loved it!

6.  Beatrice Borromeo in Valentino (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 25 July 2015)

Never in my life could I have imagined myself picking a purple wedding dress in a list of favorites, but here we are.  Beatrice’s civil wedding dress was everything one could have expected from her - delicate, feminine, with an almost fairy-like quality that many couldn’t even dream to pull off.  She literally looks like a goddess.  The lace overlay cape was something out of a dream, and the natural flow of the skirt is magnificent.  I love that the lace detail up top matches the lace detail at the bottom.  Ethereal is the word I would use to describe this dress - absolutely heavenly!

5.  Elisabetta Rosboch von Wolkenstein in Valentino (Belgium, m. Prince Amadeo, 5 July 2014)

The delicate details of this dress are everything!  I love the matching neckline with the sleeve structure and the chest/mesh detail.  I especially love how those details match the veil outline.  I usually don’t like mesh paneling very much, but Elisabetta pulled it off beautifully.  The simplicity of the skirt is complemented by the gorgeous overlay.  Plus, there’s something so gorgeously simple about the twist in her hair that I just adore.  The skirt is flattering and of the right proportion, and I love how vibrant the white is.  This is truly one of my favorites - so delicate and feminine!

4.  Claire Lademacher in Elie Saab (Luxembourg, m. Prince Felix, 21 September 2012)

Y’all know I wasn’t going to get through this list without my main man Elie Saab.  This dress is truly a masterpiece, a piece of premier artistry.  The lace detail is simply unparalleled, and it being head-to-toe does nothing to detract from the magnificence that is Princess Claire and Elie Saab.  I love the high neckline and the minimalistic jewelry.  Plus, that tiara with her dark hair and that gorgeous veil?  *chef’s kiss* magnificent.  Absolutely otherworldly.

3.  Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy in Elie Saab (Luxembourg, m. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, 20 October 2012)

God, what a dress.  What can I even say?  That lace?  Incredible.  The skirt?  Fantastic.  The train?  Phenomenal.  Veil?  Unreal.  I really don’t have anything technical to say about this other than good Lord,  it is out-of-this-world, show-stopping fabulous.  Stéphanie’s usual style is not my favorite but it’s truly all forgiven because she pulled out the big guns with this royal wedding dress, the epitome of what a royal wedding dress should be.  The only thing that heightens this above Princess Claire’s Elie Saab masterpiece is the color - it’s so gorgeous, so flattering, I have no words.  Also, I’m a sucker for this kind of veil - mounted on the back of her head and thin enough to be transparent.  The whole thing is mesmerizing - an absolute work of art.

2.  Beatrice Borromeo in Armani Privé (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 1 August 2015)

Beatrice’s second reception gown rounds out my favorites of hers from her wedding week.  I love the simple lines of this dress - the v-neck is so flattering and I love that the straps are thin without being too thin.  The A-line cascades down through the skirt beautifully, the belted waist ties the full thing together.  The construction is truly magical, a genuine workpiece.  I can’t talk about this dress without discussing the cape-like effect of the back.  She looks like she is walking through the clouds with the gorgeous wispiness of the cape.  I love that the pieces are separate, and I can only imagine what they looked like in motion.  Armani truly outdid himself with this - it was perfectly constructed from top to bottom.  A true masterpiece.

1.  Lady Gabriella Windsor in Luisa Beccaria (United Kingdom, m. Thomas Kingston, 18 May 2019)

And finally, last but certainly not least - the inspiration for my future wedding dress if I ever get married.  Lady Gabriella stopped me in my tracks when I saw this dress.  Literally, I was walking and looking at my phone, and I stopped short when I saw it.  The cape is just divine, that’s the only word I can use to describe it.  It’s like Beatrice’s second reception dress, but kicked up a notch with that absolutely inimitable lace overlay.  The skirt is proportioned beautifully, and I love how it flatters her figure without suffocating her.  The shoulder/cape detail is heavenly.  I could stare at this dress all day long, it is so magnificent.  It is delicate and feminine with magnificent construction, structured and lined beautifully with an element of softness and romance that cannot be paralleled.  It’s no wonder this is my favorite royal wedding gown of all time.  It’s just extraordinary.  I’ve done my best to explain in words but I simply cannot.  This dress is incredible.  Heart-stopping, show-stopping, jaw-dropping magnificent.

15. Alessandra de Osma (Reception Gown) (Unknown)

It doesn’t fit brilliantly and it’s a bit creased but I LOVE IT. The back. The way the straps go into that bow. It’s simple and sleek and the perfect tonic after her equally wonderful (but busier) ceremony dress.

14. Princess Charlene of Monaco (Giorgio Armani)

There are a lot of parts of this gown that I don’t like but Charlene is glowing. I actually love the off-shoulder look here and the simplicity of the veil complements the architecture of the dress. The only thing I would change would be the lace overlay.

13. Lady Kimberly Spencer-Churchill (Galvan)

This is a proper princess dress. The lace is stunning and it goes so well with the whimsical nature of the flowers in her hair. I really love the neckline and how it works with the lace, not in spite of it.

12. Lady Gabriella Windsor, Mrs Kingston (Reception Gown) (Luisa Beccaria)

This was such a good look. The neckline really flattered Ella and the silhouette was simple but perfect. I adore the caped-style back and the lace makes me so happy. It might be more suited to a casual beach wedding than a Windsor reception but I’ll take it. Also, her hair is gorgeous.

THIS IS WHAT A SIMPLE WEDDING DRESS SHOULD BE LIKE. It’s simple. The structure of the dress is basic but allows for the beauty of the bride to shine through. There’s some detailing around the base which adds character. I’d like it to be slightly more fitted around the bust but beggars can’t be choosers.

THE BEST MONACO SISTER/SISTER-IN-LAW WEDDING DRESS. If we rank the Casiraghi girl wedding dresses, all of Bea’s come out on top but this is the best of the best. The dress is so simply and manages to make Bea look like a Grecian goddess. Bea’s hair being pulled off her neck allows the top line of the dress to shine and the skirt and cape-like aspects are phenomenal.

9. The Duchess of Cambridge (Alexander McQueen)

THIS DRESS CHANGED MY LIFE. Before this wedding, if I’d even considered my wedding I’d planned a super simple affair, probably after eloping. Now, if I’m not getting married in Westminster Abbey, I’ll consider it a failure. This dress was the perfect princess dress. I love the lace and it kickstarted my love affair with lace sleeved wedding dress. The train wasn’t too long. The veil was simple but that lace trim made it special. But the crowning glory, along with those buttons, was that bustle. It was an art form.

8. Queen Sofia of Spain (Jean Dessès)

This whole look is gorgeous. I love the lace so much. I adore the shape of the dress and the lace takes it from good to great. The veil is even better. It completely elevates the dress from a good wedding dress to a truly phenomenal royal wedding dress.

7. Queen Jetsun Pema (Unknown prominent Bhutanese weavers)

Look! Colour! It’s a purely traditional Bhutanese kira and it’s stunning. I know Jetsun Pema is possibly the most beautiful person of all time but this dress would be stunning on a bin bag. I fully appreciate the fact she’s essentially wearing a giant regal tiara, providing proof she’s the new Queen of the Himalayas.

6. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg (Elie Saab)

Stephanie had so much potential. SO MUCH. She looked like a genuine princess. The amount of effort that went into this dress makes it worthy of a space by itself but I can’t get over how good it is. The train is the perfect length for a cathedral wedding. The lace embedded into the dress is beyond perfect. I really love the flow of the dress from bodice to train but the only reason it’s not higher up is the skirt. I just want it to start slightly higher. Please.

5. The Duchess of Sussex (Reception Gown) (Stella McCartney)

This is everything Meghan’s real wedding dress should have been. The halterneck was a phenomenal choice and it shows off Meg’s shoulders which, it turns out, are great. The simplicity of her hair just highlights the simple perfection of the dress. Everyone say “thank you Stella”.

4. Princess Grace of Monaco (Helen Rose)

I refuse to hear people saying this is Kate’s dress but better. It’s not better. It’s different. It’s mostly this high because it’s iconic and it changed wedding dresses across the board so massively. I love the lace, I love the veil, I love the tiara. Grace looks phenomenal and has the best wedding make up I’ve ever seen. I adore the neckline - the only collar on a wedding dress I will accept. I’m not a massive fan of the waist but if I had Grace’s waistline, I’d show it off too.

3. Ekaterina Malysheva (ALL) (Sandra Mansour)

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE DRESSES IS PHENOMENAL. A TRUE WORK OF ART. I LOVE THEM ALL. Sandra interred with Elie Saab and you can tell, these are Elie Saab dresses if I’ve ever seen one. The pre-reception dress is a floral delight. The slight rose colouring, the flowers, Ekaterina’s hair... faultless. The actual wedding dress itself unmatchable. The detail in the lace. The buttons on the back. The shaping of the skirt. The tiara choice. Ekaterina deserved a televised wedding for this dress alone. And the final choice, the reception dress, strikes me as the wedding dress Ekaterina would have worn if she was going to become Mrs Hanover, not Princess of Hanover. It’s simple. It’s cute. I would wear it to Wimbledon.

2. Princess Claire of Luxembourg (Elie Saab)

I shocked myself when this wasn’t first. This is Elie Saab at his best. The amount of detail on this dress is indescribable. I literally can’t get over how stunning it is. The fact it photographs this well is a testament to Saab’s talent. Like Stephanie’s, this has a cathedral train if I’ve ever seen one. The veil was simple and a great choice against the detailed dress and she wore a floral tiara, which just set the whole thing off for me.

Is it because I have a scoliosis scar? Is it because it was so unexpected? Is it because the Greville Emerald Tiara looks like it was made for Eugenie of York? No one knows. This dress is art. The structuring of the dress s l a y s me and the open back is my favourite thing of all time. There’s a small bustle, a stunning train... this was a train made for those Windsor steps. The simplicity of the dress against the emerald tiara was an inspired choice. I love it.

Sick day (HPMA)

Writing mostly from Gabriella’s ( @thottus-begonus ) POV with two special guests Maple ( @wandsandrings ) and Scarlet ( @immagrosscandy ). Hope you guys enjoy this piece of writing (I hope I capture their personalities good enough and didn’t go too OOC)

For the first time, Gabriella woke up without seeing Elis hunching over the desk. It was kinda weird, she admitted. Pames was more of a machine than a human and the girl didn’t even deny it. That made her more interesting, she supposed.

"Hey, we are late." Hackman nudged her roommate, who, to her own surprise, kept curling under the blanket. Weird, she knew Elis was a light sleeper. With only a small touch, she would snap like a bowstring. 

What if… Gabriella pulled the blanket down, revealing a barely conscious Elis. She put a hand on her friend’s forehead. Hell, her body was burning. 

Gabriella looked at the clock. She overslept, missed breakfast and was supposed to be in Potions class by now. Professor Slughorn wouldn’t give her detention for being late the fifth times of the month, would he?

The dark hair girl sighed, rolling up her sleeves. “You owe me one, Pames.”

“Where is Elis?”

Gabriella still couldn’t believe Scarlet Bianchi and Elis Pames were friends. Let’s be real here, Elis did do some mildly illegal stuff for money but Bianchi was at a whole new level. She broke every single rule in this school, publicly. Scarlet didn’t even try to hide her doings which raised the question why she wasn’t kicked out yet.

She glanced at Slughorn, who was still focused on his lesson more than anyone in the room. “She has a fever, resting in the Hospital Wing now.” The Ravenclaw replied flatly. No need to make a fuss about it, she knew Elis would appreciate some peace and quiet while resting. 

“What?” Scarlet slammed her hands on the table, attracting the whole class. “Poor Elis! We must visit her now!” 

Professor Slughorn gave them a quizzical look. “Miss Bianchi, I’m sure whatever you need to do right now can be waited until the end of the class. For now, please… contain yourself.” His eyes focused on the Ravenclaw. “You too, Miss Hackman.”

Gabriella let out a heavy sigh, glancing at Elis’ empty seat. This would be a long day.

“Is Elis sick? I haven’t seen her this morning.”

“Why did Maple Peterson Khanna end up with Bianchi and Pames?” was such a difficult question to answer. Comparing to his two abnormal friends, this boy was way less troublematic. Gabriella managed to give him a small nod. She wasn’t interested in Elis’ companions and she definitely had no intention of making more friends than she had now.

Maple seemed to sense her indifference too, so he directed his attention back to Professor Longbottom. They didn’t exchange anything throughout the lesson and Gabriella appreciated the quietness, unlike his friend Scarlet.

“Hackman, Peterson Khanna, can you please stay after class a little? I need some help.” Professor Longbottom asked with a warm smile. Gabriella wanted to decline: she hadn’t visited Elis since their departure in Hospital Wing. Not that she was worried or anything, she just needed to know whether that workaholic dived into work again or not.

“I need you two deliver something to Elis. I was supposed to give her it but she was in the Hospital Wing. She usually helps me take care of the plants, you know. Even though she did ask for some ingredients as rewards, I don’t think those are enough for her efforts.” He brought out a pot with dark green herbs growing above. “Letting a first-year student handling Dittany sounds crazy but I’m sure Pames is more than capable, don’t you think?.”

Gabriella and Maple looked at the pot of Dittany, then looked back at their teacher. “Of course, Professor.”

The visit was anything but eventful: Elis was still asleep, at least her body temperature had lowered. Madam Pomfrey almost kicked them out because Scarlet tried to dump a pack of ice on the sleeping girl. She said it was the fastest way to get better, Gabriella doubted that very much. At least she stopped when Maple mentioned that if Elis was sicker, she couldn’t be part of “the plan”.  

After lunch, Gabriella decided to pay her friend another visit, this time with something to fill her stomach. She must be hungry, not having eaten anything since last night. 

Not that she expected a certain Slytherin though.

Cassandra was, in any possible way, the type Gabriella wouldn’t want to share a conversation with. She was all about herself, being a big bully, not to mention the creepy twin following her… 

The blonde girl was as surprised as Gabriella when she stepped out of the room. If she remembered correctly, there was no one in the Hospital Wing today, except for Elis. 

Now this is interesting. Gabriella’s lips curled into a lazy smirk. She still stood in front of Cassandra, blocking any way out.

The warmth of the sand no longer bit through the skin of bare feet as she waited and watched the guy who, only moments before hand, thought to brag about his skill in the surf, slipped and ate shit within the crushing wave. “You know, he almost had me believing that he’d pull that one off.” Gabriella laughed quietly as she dug her own board into the sand and planted herself atop the bar stool beside Elias. It was always nice when they found the time to hit the beach together, even better still when the shore line was as busy as it was today. The atmosphere of it all did wonders for her feeling alive as she did surrounded by sun, sand and ocean. “You should have taken him up on that bet, you’d have outdone him without even trying, Eli.” The fact that he’d grown up in a way that she’d have dreamed about - surfing, and enjoying as much of the ocean as she tried to now made her envious, but Gabriella was mostly just grateful that she’d found someone who enjoyed it as much as she did. “I’m gonna’ order a burger, do you want anything?”

Let’s Start Off Strong 💞

I don’t really remember exactly who my first couple was. I’ve been debating whether it was Miley Stewart and Jake Ryan from Hannah Montana (yIKES) or maybe Troy and Gabriella in HSM. The first one I know I fell hard for was this one.

Eli Goldsworthy and Clare Edwards, Degrassi: The Next Generation (more specifically The Boiling Point)

2010. I’m in third grade. My older brother has been watching this show for years. My parents wouldn’t let me watch it because it was a show for teenagers- and i was nowhere near the age, obviously. But i just remember being so entranced by this show. It was dramatic, it was steamy, it was dangerous. It was all new territory.

Considering my other older brother was nearest to my age, we have always been closest to each other. We both had an attraction to this show so every week we’d hide out in my parents room while they made dinner to watch the newest episode of Degrassi on Teen Nick. When we found out about Boiling Point (and i know every Degrassi fan can relate) it was like we’d just won the lottery. New characters were coming, new drama, more plot lines and stories were just around the corner and we were ready for it. But we also didn’t know what to expect.

And then I saw them. Eli had just hopped out of Morty and had run over Clare’s glasses. I still can feel the clench of my heart when I saw the look in both of their eyes. This couple would continue to fill my mind for years to come. It came to where I only continued with the series after I had grown out of the petty drama and toxic relationships for the sole purpose of seeing Eli and Clare be endgame like I dreamed they’d be. I cried with them when Eli’s room happened, I went through Clare’s treatment and her pregnancy with them, and they became one of the greatest romantic fuels of my adolescent life.

I can’t really explain the extent of what this fictional relationship has meant to me because i would just be embarrassing myself. But i do know that I realized that i was hopelessly in love with love the moment I saw these two become Degrassi’s favorite couple.

Redemption Chapter 88 Beautiful Boy

When the afterbirth is delivered, Eli is invited to cut the cord. With shaky hands, he does. Their son is now a completely independent person. Gabby had him at her breast, aiding the transaction. She now hands him to Eli as she is cleaned up.

He looks down at his son, the first blood relative he has ever known. “Oh my beautiful boy.” He whispers over him. Rocking him instinctively in his arms, he starts to hum then softly sing the lyrics of the song John Lennon wrote to his son, Shawn.

“Before you go to sleep, say a little prayer.” He whisper sings,” Before you cross the street, take my hand. Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy. My darling Gabriel.” From the bed, his emotional wife sobs. “Close your eyes, have no fear, the monsters gone, he's own the run and,” a deep swallow,” Your daddy's here.”

“I will be to banish all monsters. I will be here to hold your hand, hear your prayers, and, oh my beautiful boy, if God wills it, see you come of age. Gabriel, you, your Aunt Evie, and your wonderful mommy are the most important people in my life. Daddy loves you so much little man.”

He walks back over and carefully seats back down by Gabby.

“Eli, we are so blessed to have you in our life. That was so beautiful.” She is still wiping tears off her eyes.

“The words of the late great John Lennon.” He tells her with a smile. He meant them when he sang them for Sean. I mean them when I pray fully sing them over Gabriel.” He runs a hand over his son's soft cheek. The baby's eyes drift shut and his heart gives a mighty lurch.

“I love you Eli. I am sorry for how I acted while having him.”

“I love you and there is nothing to apologize for. I've never seen anything like what you went through. I knew you were strong love but, well, I will never refer to women as the weaker sex again.” She laughs softly.

“He was worth it.”

They bring the rest of their family in, soon after. Evie goes nuts over her little nephew.

“He is so little.” She says as she runs her hand over his tiny feet as he lays in Gabby's arms. She smiles. He hadn't felt little while exiting her.

“He is bigger then you were when you were born. He were just 6 pounds 5 ounces. He is 7 pounds 11 ounces.” Gabby tells her.

“Wow! He is still my little nephew.”

“That he is. How would you like to be his big sister also?” Eli asks her.

“How?” she turns from the baby to him.

“Well, if I adopt you, you would be a Spencer and Gabriel's sister.”

“Really! I want to do that.” The baby is startled by her enthusiasm. “Sorry Gabriel. I am gonna be your big sister!”

They head home later that day. Gabriel in the embroidered gown his aunt had made.

The next few months are hectic. The Spencer's adjust to having a newborn, Eli and Gabby start the process of becoming Evie's official parents. Meanwhile, Jade and Jillian decide they are moving to fast and start seeing others.

By the time Gabriel is six months and crawling, his Aunt Evie is also his sister. When he is one, Aunt Jade meets a man at his birthday party, a friend of Elizabeth and Mark's. His name is Peter and they start cautiously dating.

Gabby finds herself pregnant again when her son is 18 months. Right after he turns two, he, Evie, and his waddling mommy are part of Aunt Jade's wedding party. She and Peter are married after she had accepted Christ four months before.

Nathan Levi is born three months and two weeks later. He is a chunk of a child, weighing 10 pounds! Evie, at nine, is a huge help with her baby brothers but asks for a sister.

“One more time to try to even them out?” Eli asks his wife a year later.

“When Nathan is two.” Is the compromise. So, when Evie is 11, Gabriel 5, and Nathan 3 she finds herself pregnant again.

“Last time,” she tells Jade as she sits nursing her newborn daughter, Violet.

“Then we pray it is a girl?”

“Yes please.”

8 months later, they joyfully welcome Hannah Elizabeth and Gabby has her tubes tied. Her family is complete.

“Can you believe this,” He gestures to the children, sleeping all together, with baby Hannah safely in the middle, “started because we were both shopping for Mark's birthday at the same time?”

“God really does work in mysterious ways.” She agrees leaning against him. “I found love and life with you, Found God again, then Evie, Gabriel, and Jade. Walking into Walmart that day was one of the best decisions I ever made.”

“Me too. I love you so much Gabby.”

“I love you Eli.” They watch their family sleep.
