Hear me out!

"The Alchemist" by The Faim is the most Wylan song from Jesper's perspective I've heard out of the blue (as in, it came up in my playlist)

First of all, banger song, listen to this

But look at these lyrics, I am going feral actually

Tell me this is not Jesper pre-Wylan, deep in the trenches of the barrel, indebted, addicted, ashamed of his Grisha abilities. But then Wylan came along and helped him dig himself out

This is just ✨chemistry✨ and sappy, but also Jesper being fascinated and so impressed by what Wylan can produce, in love with his intelligence and cleverness and wit. And how Wylan chose him (Jesper would call himself lead in comparison to gold) and helped him become something greater!

Again, Jesper pre- vs post-Wylan. He was living life as it came along and presented itself to him, good or bad, until he found someone to live for, to be good for, to put in effort into himself for. Wylan showed him a different side of what life can be, like how kissing him can be an equal thrill to gambling.

This is a Wylan appreciation post, but from Jesper's perspective. Hopefully one day I can turn this into more than just analysis rambling and maybe write a fic or draw something, but for now this needs to be enough, thank you for listening

Real Friends dropped a new track titled “Always Lose.” It follows on from the band’s previous single “Tell Me You’re Sorry,” which came out back in February.

Tonight Alive's Jenna McDougall started teasing new solo music under the project moniker HEVENSHE. She also provided a date and time, that being June 7 and midnight local time.

Neck Deep released a brand new song titled “STFU,” their first new music in nearly two years. The band released their last full-length All Distortions Are Intentional back in 2020.

My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero has revealed he is working on yet another solo project outside of the band. The last music we got from him was with The Future Violents last year in the form of the EP Heaven is a Place, This is a Place.

Blackbear and Machine Gun Kelly released another collaboration song titled “GFY.” The pair teamed up earlier this year, as well on the latter’s Mainstream Sellout with the song “'Make Up Sex.”

Following the single’s release, The Wonder Years have now released a video for their song “Summer Clothes.” The track follows on from their previous song “Oldest Daughter.”

The Faim released a new song titled “Me Because of You.” The song comes off their upcoming album Talk Talk, which will be released on July 8 via BMG.

TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Bring Me the Horizon’s long-awaited weekender event took place in Malta this past weekend. During their DJ set, the band also premiered a new track titled “Strangers.”

Alexisonfire announced when they will be making the rounds to the United Kingdom and Europe for a tour. The tour kicks off in Cardiff on October 14 and ends in Utrecht, Netherlands on November 1.

OTHER NEWS:

Evanescence revealed that they would be parting ways with guitarist Jen Majura. Bassist Tim McCord will now be taking up guitar, while Sick Puppies' Emma Anzal will now be playing bass.

My Chemical Romance’s “The Foundations of Decay” is in the top spot on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. It’s the band's first appearance on the chart in their career, but also their first time hitting the top ever.

The Story So Far bassist Kelen Carpener revealed that he and the band have parted ways. Kelen has been with the band since their inception in 2007 and played on every one of their releases.

Fall Out Boy's “The Phoenix” is now certified Gold in the United Kingdom. The album the song is off of, Save Rock and Roll, is currently certified Platinum.

It's July, Ladies and Gents! So that means you need some good summer tunes, to listen to while you drink your lemonade!

Well, I've got just the things!

Dandelions, by Ruth B.

This one came out 3 months ago, and it's already got 3.2 million views on the tube, but I've only heard this one on the radio a couple of times, recently. It is so sweet and light that I was like, I NEED MORE. Honestly, in my opinion, it's one of the best I've heard on the actual radio lately. It feels like lying down in the grass, in the sunlight, with the wide blue sky above you, and staring up at the clouds, and holding someone's hand. It's the best feeling, all captured in this song. I live for music that's wholesome and beautiful as this is.

Summer is a Curse, by The Faim.

This one is a bop!!!! They used to have this on the old Alternate music radio station that was the only thing I listened to willingly for straight up years. Then one day that station vanished. I don't know what happened to it. But it's just not there, anymore. I miss it every single day. I'm stuck between hot 100 and country, now. You just don't get the same vibes as this kind of music. Anyways, this song makes you feel like you're in the endless sunshine, perhaps somewhere with sand, and it's blowing in your face, and your hands are crackling in the dryness. You're gonna feel the sunshine on your skin, tracing beautiful patterns into you like you're a warm rock. I don't know how to expand on it more than this. You feel like a warm rock. It's a good feeling.

Videogames, by Lana Del Rey.

Perhaps I'm already giving away the game, here, but I'm one of the hugest Lana Del Rey fans. Her music just hits differently, especially on summer evenings, watching the sunset. My dad used to play this song on summer nights, specifically, and now it's intrinsically tied to fireworks, sodium-tinged street lights, citronella bracelets and deet that are meant to keep bugs away but sting your nose a little too. It's a blue-black of a sky, and stars and car lights. And one time, I told my dad that the song was one of the most romantic ones I'd ever heard. He looked at me funny. "Is it?" I blinked at him. "Cause to me," he said, "It sounds like she means what she's saying, but she's so tired of it. Listen. It's you, it's you, it's all for you, everything I do. She does everything for this guy, and he just plays videogames. She loves him, but he's playing videogames." I kind of just looked at him, because I loved this song, and I wanted to believe it wasn't that sad. "It can't be," I said, "The lyrics don't say that." "No," my dad answered. "But her voice does."
