Reading through my course notes and I am reminded again by how much August Comte's theory of 3 stages reminds me of Fear & Hunger's world.

As we know, this theory is formed from the theological phase, where the world is interpreted by society through religious means, the supernatural and Gods

Then we have the metaphysics stage, where the world is viewed through more abstract lenses. Religion is less influential, but the explanations are not necessarily satisfactory.

And finally, the positivist phase, where we pass to seeing the world as it is, via science.

I'd say the first game takes place at the point where the world transitions from the theological phase onto the metaphysical stage (with The God of Fear and Hunger's ascension and pushing humanity's development further)

Then the second game is showcasing the transitional phase between the metaphysical stage and positivist stage, via Logic.

Sketches of a Splatoon/Fear & Hunger crossover

Both Marina (left) and Peral (Right) are associated with order and chaos respectively which reminded me of Logic and the sulfur God.

So, in this world, the final splatfest of splatoon 2 wasn't purposeful by the inkling or the result of old radio signals bouncing back from space, but rather the interference of both Logic and the sulfur God and afterwards both used the respective idols as pawns for the upcoming plans.

Both are the last gods on earth since the new gods left once humanity nuked Antarctica (and all the wars) while the ascended gods left once the last survivors in Alterna died. There are rumors that the God of fear and hunger might still be around but so far only traces have been detected. They are quite a topic in human archeology and commander Tartar and ORCA are really the only ones who were able to witness the gods firsthand

Logic and Sulfur both went into hibernation after humanity's extinction but came back recently with the inklings and Octolings

The fading at the bottom of Marina's dress is supposed to be the green hue while she has wires sticking out of her suckercups.

For Pearl, I just looked at other sulfur cultists for inspiration
