It is terrible to destroy a person's picture of himself in the interests of truth or some other abstraction.

Spocktober + Trektober Day 17 - Survival Training
Their camping dates in The Final Frontier are everything to me :'3
(ID (+ bonus unedited version) under cut!)
I wanted to add the unedited version too because I actually quite like the scrappiness of it! Plus I find it funny that I've done 16 of these and somehow managed to switch the 'Spocktober' and 'Trektober' in the corners on the 17th and not like. the second. 😅
I'm sticking this one right up on my wall :3
[Image ID: A black and white drawing of Jim Kirk, Spock, and Bones from Star Trek: The Original Series. They are sitting around a campfire in a clearing in an alien forest; in the sky above is a crescent moon, a distant ringed planet, and a galaxy. Smoke rises from the fire, and it casts long shadows behind the characters. The forest and sky are drawn in white gel pen on black ink, and the ground around the characters is shaded in scratchy black brushstrokes to indicate the ring of light thrown by the campfire.
Bones and Jim are reclining on the ground, to the left and behind the fire respectively. They are wearing casual clothes; Bones is wearing a jacket and Jim is wearing a t-shirt with a button up shirt over the top, unbuttoned. Bones is also toasting a marshmallow. Spock is on the right of the fire. He is sitting cross-legged facing the other two. He has a blanket wrapped around him and is wearing a beanie with a bobble on top, covering his ears. Only his face is visible. He is scowling, and saying in a square speech bubble "I do not see how this activity provides adequate survival training."
Bones replies, also scowling, in a round speech bubble "Just enjoy the peace and quiet, Spock."
Jim's eyes are closed and he is smiling, basking in the moment.
Above the drawing is written "Trektober" and "Day 17 - Survival Training" Below it is written "@aerialworms" and "Spocktober".
The second image is the same as the first, except several brushstrokes have broken the boundaries of the drawing's frame, and 'Spocktober' and 'Trektober' have switched places. /End ID]

Unexpectedly for myself, I find myself in a park. In a small forest. In the city. So, trees are high here. Roads are with asphalt. And benches. Whole location. Made out of roads and trees. And benches.
Birds are singing. Trees are high. Without leaves. And they are standing like that around a roads. Like a pillars. And you are walking such road. And road leads you somewhere in a far. So far that you cannot see the end. Like a fog. But there is no fog. It is simply, a big territory. Forest. And little roads. So, you can walk here for a long time. And watch these trees. And listen to the birds singing. Trees are with green moss and that’s gives them even more to be interesting. Looks like all these trees are growing here for a long time. And that’s gives idea one more time, about a whole universe out of trees. Someplace they are covered with moss.
And if you are find yourself tired – you can sit at the bench. Anyway, there is a place for civilization here. Asphalt on the roads. And benches. It is amazing but city landscape is near. So, you cannot be lost here.
And so, this way, it is a whole backrooms place. Where are trees along the road and it looks like it can be endless road! It is a beautiful place to think about QBasic. Or just have a rest, free time. Any kind of these places. Any kind of such park with trees.

You know that bit in The Prince of Egypt when Moses encounters Miriam and Aaron as an adult and Miriam quietly reprises the lullaby portion of “Deliver Us” a cappella, and it’s haunting and impactful in its simplicity?
That’s the vibe Wangji singing Wangxian.mp3 in the cave SHOULD have had, but unfortunately CQL is allergic to ever having the song be diegetic!

just look and see, this forest i made for you
[Image ID: A digital illustration of Fresh Cut Grass from Critical Role. It has a colorful and messy pixellated style. FCG is standing in a field of flowers with his hands clasped in front of him, looking down over the grass with a sense of warmth. Tree branches frame him from high up on either side. Behind him, in sharp contrast to the bright colors of the rest of the piece, there is a black panel shaped like an explosion right behind his head. It shows a loose, scratchy looking sketch of a one eyed creature standing over his old party members, with hints of red indicating blood splatters. FCG is turned away from the panel, ignoring it. End ID.]

We have a camper this week whose thing is to just, ask if x y z animal or thing can be milked???? Penguins? Flamingoes (she's determined that if you milked them you'd get shrimp?!!!) Worms (if you milked them idk you'd just get guts imo.) Some staff are like, absolutely not, a puffin is not a mammal you can't milk them. Others say you can milk anything if you try hard enough. It's entertaining and a uhhh yeah just the normal camper weird tbh.
She asked if she could milk a squirrel and I said yeah, but the squirrel probably wouldn't like it. And she's like, no, it would. And I'm like, nOOOO, it wouldn't!!!! Something about milking a mythical creature and the response was, maybe, you'd have to find one first. And another staff overheard and was like, I know where to find one :D ! Because we have a staff with the same name as the creature. And then they realized we were still on the milking conversation and went nONONONO!!!!!!!!
Child should work at a zoo.
We've come to the agreement that spiders and snakes can be milked. We thought it might end there last night. But nah, this is going to be an all week thing for suuure. But it's silly and keeps the kids (and staff tbh!) entertained so we're going with it.
