#the great tododeku wedding au
talkativelock · 6 years
Note
so uhhhh seems like you and your stories are staying, and this would be a lot of work for you (stay safe and healthy!) but plz. tododeku wedding au. girl thats a whole ass series and i love it
So I’ve not been publishing the asks to go with the crossposting requests so I can keep track of stuff but this one made me laugh so fucking hard I had to publish it to tell you how great this ask is omg.
It is indeed a whole ass series and it will indeed be making its way over to ao3~! The thing with the wedding AU is that I have a lot of Extra Content I want to weave into it so it’s going to take a little longer as I’m rewriting a few parts to accommodate the new content and, well, putting the new content into their respective parts. But don’t worry! You will in fact see the very long and hopefully even better Wedding AU on ao3!

Fic Recs
Alright, folks, I've recently had cause to go through all six thousand something bookmarks of mine, so I figured I might finally do one of these. It's not even close to being all of the good fics I have saved, but these are some my absolute favorites.
All of these are completed and have happy endings unless otherwise specified.
If you try and make fun of me for my choice in fandoms, please keep in mind I have no shame and treat anon hate as fun enrichment for my habitat.
Percy Jackson
Solangelo
5: I've seen it recommended everywhere, for a good reason. Great for people who like their fluff a bit unhinged. 2k,
Touch Me: This one is for the touch starved bitches out there. Will knows that Nico doesn't like to be touched- in this specific case, Nico disagrees. 8k.
in which will solace's gentle hands pay off: Similar premise; Nico is touch-starved and he wants Will to touch him. 1k.
Jasico
joy and sorrow: Anyone else up for an Orpheus and Eurydice parallel? Jason languishes in paradise. Nico brings him back. 10k.
Ace Attorney
Narumitsu
and the tree was happy: Easily my favorite characterization of Trucy. It's Trucy-centric, and it focuses on her fixing the fallout after the truth about Thalassa comes out. 36k.
So, when this loose behavior I throw off: Edgeworth finds Phoenix during his disbarment and proceeds to play a very high stakes game of poker. 12k.
one step at a time: Phoenix decides to retake the bar after his five years are up. Edgeworth is there every step of the way. 22k.
forty years in the wilderness: Miles Edgeworth comes home five weeks after Phoenix finishes rebuilding the jury trial system. 9k.
Klapollo
and it's christmas, so no one can fix it: This is just honestly very well written. It handles Klavier's first Christmas after Kristoph- well, after Kristoph. 10k.
don't you lose my number: Five unconnected textfics, and each of them worth the time. 66k.
fame vs infamy: In which Apollo somehow lands a boyfriend by writing Klavier x Reader out of spite. 12k.
Boku no Hero Academia
Dabihawks
you're the song stuck in my head: You want some cute fake dating? I can hook you up with some cute fake dating. I'll even throw in some mutual pining. AU where Hawks is a cheerleader and Dabi is in a band. 37k.
Erasermic
on air: Mic is doing a segment on fun proposals on his radio channel. Aizawa calls in. 2k.
fusebox heart: AU where Mic has cyborg parts that need maintenance, and Aizawa is his favorite mechanic. Just like this fic is my favorite. 27k.
Tododeku
don't you just want to go apeshit?: Todoroki is tired of being nice. He chooses violence (memes) instead. 15k.
Hand to Heart: Deku asks to study Todoroki's quirk, and Shouto falls in love. 13k.
Haikyuu!!
Bokuaka
Karma: In which Bokuto offers to teach him yoga and Akaashi is a weak, weak man. 9k.
daisy rings and frivolous things: Akaashi is pining, and Bokuto has an onigiri quest for them. They get engaged. 15k.
il mio ragazzo falso: Akaashi brings Bokuto to his granparents' wedding anniversary- as his fake boyfriend. I think you know where this is going. 18k.
one in a hundred: Dating would be a lot easier if Akaashi stopped trying to break up with him. 3k.
Kagehina
your whole life on your play: Directly after his team wins the game, Hinata proposes to Kageyama. They weren't dating. (Part of a series, but can be read on its own.) 3k.
Kuroken
Please Notice Me: Instead of talking about his feelings, Kenma turns into a cat. Kuro is a sweetheart about it. 10k.
i hear my heart breaking tonight: Kenma is pining his way through the most domestic life possible. 10k.
In Another Castle: Kuroo, will you please just let Kenma buy you two a house? Domestic fluff and mutual pining. 19k.
Tsukiyama
And Everything in Between: Yamaguchi buys Tsukishima a lizard for his birthday. It's the best gift he's ever gotten. 51k.
Sakuatsu
Other Boys in Other Ports: An absolute masterpiece. Atsumu is a space sailor and Sakusa is the bartender he spends three days with every time he arrives at his port. 26k.
The Dos and Don'ts of Loving Sakusa Kiyoomi: Atsumu is tired of always getting it wrong with Sakusa, so he starts keeping a list. 15k.
Hunter x Hunter
Leopika
All Roads Lead To: Urban Fantasy AU involving a magical library and a myriad of paths to take. Kurapika is the librarian, if that sweetens the pot for you. 46k.
Immersion Learning: Leorio picks up a bit of Kuruta over the years. 4k.
Killugon
starlight and star-crossed: Killua loses all of his memory of Gon, and he thinks this boy is too good to be true. 22k.
wriggle up on dry land: Killua thinks Mito is gonna hit Gon, so he begs her to hit him instead. 1k.
Naruto
Gen
The Divided Self: Sakura knows she has no natural advantage, no clan, no kekkei genkai. So she makes herself one. 6k.
Gaalee
Suna Stories: In which Gaara gets sick, and Lee has gotten drunk- Wait, not at the same time! 14k.
Diplomatic Relations: Lee is sent as an ambassador in Suna, which is sure to go over very well. 162k.
Undertale
Gen
Trying Out a Maybe: Technically platonic charisk, but Frisk isn't quite there. Sans notices the thing killing all the monsters is acting weird. 8k. Hopeful ending, but check the tags.
memeing across time and space: It's very hard to meme from the void. Gaster still tries. 1k.
The Witcher
Geraskier
nourish: Jaskier has a habit of sharing his food. (Honestly, I recommend about everything by @penandinkprincess. It's just all good shit.) 10k.
Customs of Courtship and Marriage: Jaskier starts calling Geralt his wifey as sort of a joke, and it sticks. 14k.
A Song Of My Own: Jaskier falls in love all the time, and there's a very cute scene with supportive bystanders. Much like with penandink, I recommend you just take a look at the author's works. 7k.
The Man Made of Love: Geralt is convinced Jaskier deserves better than his love. Still, he writes. 5k.
Voltron
Klance
i like where we are (here): For anyone who likes mutual pining. Lance is coming to Keith's home with him during college break, and he is Not handling it well. 40k.
tell me again, do you love me?: Everyone knows Lance is in love with Keith, and I do mean everyone- including Keith himself. Fluff. 6k.
Terminal Velocity: Technically a sequel, but can be read on its own. Lance always falls too fast- but Keith's down bad. 23k.
DC
Birdflash
Homiesexual: For the meme lovers out there. Wally has a sexuality crisis due to his hot gym buddy, Dick, and then posts about it on reddit. Because of course. 9k.
As Invisible as the True Stars at Daybreak: They just... know each other so well... Nightwing is acting weird, and Wally is the only one who has noticed. 5k.
Superbat
to feel without a light: Bruce is out of his mind with fear toxin, but he still trusts Clark. 5k.
Timkon
Cork Board Contingencies: For people who share my belief that Tim is at his best as a feral nerd. Tim has a date with Kon and goes feral about planning it. 3k.
Shiny New Fears: Could it be?... Yes, healthy communication. Features established timkon talking through their worries as they decide whether or not to have kids. (Not mpreg.) 10k.
Trust Me to Have a Pen in Hand: High School AU where Conner always has a pen to lend Tim. 1k.
The Mystery of the Superboy Shirts: Tim is obsessed with trying to figure out where the fuck Kon's shirts keep coming from. 4k.
Jayroy
The Big Book: Another one that is frequently recommended, and for good reason. Deals mostly with Roy's addiction. Features a supportive Jason. 4k.
I Want You With Me (Always): Idiots to lovers, featuring meaningful tattoos and commitment. 3k.
if your real dad isn't present store bought is fine: baby Lian goes to Red Hood when she's in danger, so he beats up a creep for her. What's not to like? 1k.
Bluepulse
Stick With Me: A classic set up where Jaime and Bart get stuck in a cabin and have to deal with their continuous proximity. 25k.
Sanders Sides
Analogical
i'll give you the moon: Ironically, Virgil defies logic in order to try to give Logan the perfect gift. 4k.
Intrulogical
by a map half-written: Arranged marriage AU. At the last minute, it's decided Logan will marry Prince Remus instead of his twin. Logan is quite satisfied with this. 4k.
Stalker-verse: A tiny series in which Remus and Logan are each other's stalkers. Somehow, this manages to have fluff. Check the tags. 19k.
The Magnus Archives
Jonmartin
Martin Blackwood and the Power of Research: Martin really wants to talk to Jon, so he tries infodumping. 4k.
Jongerry
fool me, fool me: In which Jon fake dates Gerry so the rest of the archives gang doesn't think he's homophobic. About as ridiculous as it sounds. Textfic. 27k.
Supernatural
Destiel
six hundred sundays (and many more): Time works different for angels and Cas has always loved Dean. So much fluff. 15k.
Purgatory, director's cut: A different retelling of Castiel and Dean's time in Purgatory. Clearly. 23k.
Fifty Ways to Lose Your Lover: Screenplay format, as the characters themselves revolt against the script. Humor. 1k.
Tall Grass: Castiel plants a garden. Dean watches. 57k.
Midam
adjust to the light: AU where Adam is the only survivor of a serial killer, and his ex, Michael, seems very concerned about his safety. 69k. Nice.
for fear that you'd find out: Right after they leave the bunker, Michael and Adam have a refreshingly honest conversation. 4k.
the divergence of divine law: Thee fic for those who enjoy thinking about their time together in the cage. Check the tags. Technically ambiguous ending. 73k.
Drarry
The Pure and Simple Truth: Harry, Draco and Hermione walk into a pub. There is no punchline. There is a very well developed supporting cast though. 65k.
Wolfstar
keymash: Absolutely perfect fic. Mostly texting. Wrong Number and No Magic AU. 45k.
The Barista, The Burglar, and the Sofa: In which Remus is an anxious barista whose house keeps getting broken into by a very generous stranger. (It's Sirius.) 21k.

Fic Wrap Up.
*feel free to ignore this if I tagged you
This is going to be my own fic wrap up, my first one ever because this was the birth of my Ao3 account, so all of my fics are from this year. I’ll try to keep things concise, but it’ll still be pretty long. I will do this in the form of a Read More after the first few fics. There are over 90, I’ll try to go alphabetically.
All of them are from the same fandom, BnHA, so that’s nice. More gen fics, less romance. Most of them are for series, events, other people’s aus - and I’ll make sure to share all of that when I share each fic, especially because some of the events are probably repeats and this is a little bit like free marketing [only tagging them once because that would get obnoxious, especially for the weekly event things I did]. Other than that, I hope you all enjoy and may 2021 suck slightly less.
Heads up for angst, whump, some ships, and manga spoilers

New Year’s Resolution  : Write more Quality, not Quantity. More DadMight, maybe post some of my other longer stories. Don’t make every request something to post.

All of them👀
2. Favorite ship either kiane or Takari... Hard to pick but I'd go for Takari bc its the one I've shipped the longest
3. In which fandom lmao xD uhm... Oh, I hate it when people ship humans with Digimon in the Digimon fandom. Like yeah I get that some of them have human like body but... Im sorry
4. My wildest ship is Jelsa. Definately.
5. Yup, I am. I don't multiship too much o. The nnt fandom (I kiiiinda do but not too much), on the mlb fandom I multiship a good amount but on the Digimon fandom I ship anything that doesn't involve shipping siblings or digimon.
6. Yuuuuup, my favorite m|m is tododeku (bnha), I like some others but this is the only one I sctually fangirl to (though I haven't in a really long time). w|w there's MamixSakura, Madohomu and SayakaxSakura (pmmm!) and Marigami (mlb) PflexShadow Gale, Snow WhitexLa Pucelle (mgrp). Yeah I do have a thing for angsty magical girls.
7. Ummm, the first time I read fanfiction it was Harry Potter fanfiction, but the first time I joined a fandom comunity and wrote fanfiction and actually interscted with the fandom it was digimon.
8. Too many but the ones I'm more or less active in rn are nnt, Digimon and Miraculous Ladybug.
9. My favorite fandom... I really like the mlb fandom dynamic. I've said it before but that fandom is so talented its intimidating. There are so many hcs and AUs and there's always something new. I really like the vibe it has, so I guess that one (though rn its the one I'm the least active in). The Digimon fandom has a special place in my heart as well, always. And the Nnt fandom is such a nice comfy place to be around! People here are so nice its impressive! One of the lost welcoming fandoms I've ever seen.
10. Jelsa and the big five crew
13. Here comes a long list: Miraculous Ladybug, Friends, Glee, Nanatsu no Taizai, Digimon (adventure and tamers), Plastic Memories, Madoka Mágica, Magical Girl Raising Project, Avatar, Harry Potter (not a show but I did obsess over it), Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, Rick and Morty, Skins and probably many more.
15. Umm... A Storm over Blossoms is a really good digimon fanfic, I specially love how they picture Hikari's disappearence from her family's perspective.
16. Like... Of mine????? I have some mlb fanfic in spanish I'm proud of and I have an nnt one whicj's concept I like a lot but I wanna worl a bit lore on it before recpmmending it to ppl bc of many things.
But if I'd have to pick a fanart I'd go for this one
Tumblr media
17. There's this AMAZING Takari fanfic (I forgot the name and I don't want to lose my answer) about Miyako's wedding in which Hikari and Takeru get too drunk and have sex but they have mo idea they did that bc they're used to sleeping with each other (they kissed once whem they were twelve bc Hikari wanted to know how it would feel kanckkd) and she ends up pregnant. So much angst, such a great fic. Also in spanish, inseguridades by Japiera, also digimon, and one of the fanfics I look up to the most.
18. GinjaNinja!
19. Idk???? Mine I guess, it has my high school spanish assignments
20. According to spotify its the beatles and though I'd consider some others I'l just accept that for the sake of m tired fingers.
21. La poderosa muerte - los jaivas (south american rythms trance, really alternative but brings me to life)
22. Rn its mary Magdalene by fkatwigs
23. Madoka Mágica (I consider it a master piece though I'm not that active in the fandom)
24. Hummm... Les mis? Heathers? The grave of the fireflies? Idk one of those, I dont watch too many movies.
25. Mon Laferte, my current icon
26. I have a Chikorita xD
28. Ummm... Since 2014 maybe?
29. My Town hosts a small anime con every year.
30. Idk much about cons, sorry :(

23 and Tododeku, pretty please??
23. meeting on a train ride au.
It’s time…time for T R A IN   F L U F F
Shouto’s pretty sure he’s notsupposed to be in this part of the train. Though, at four years old, he reallyisn’t supposed to be anywhere on hisown.
He huffs. Whoever made those rulesclearly didn’t have Endeavor as a father. No one who did would fault Shouto forseeking the solitude of an empty train car.
“Hi!”
Shouto winces. Unfortunately, itseems that solitude will be short-lived. He glances at the boy sneaking into thecar. At least they seem to be the same age. Maybe that means he won’t tattle onShouto.
“Hi,” Shouto says cautiously.
“Can I hide in here too?” the boyasks.
Shouto sighs in relief. A boy inhiding definitely won’t tell on him. He nods in response to the boy’s question. It’s only right to share this place, after all. “Who are you hiding from?”
“Kacchan,” the boy says, as if that’ssupposed to mean anything to Shouto. “You?”
“My father.”
“That doesn’t sound good,” the boysays, frowning.
Shouto shrugs. “He’ll find meeventually.”
“Not while I’m here!” the boy says, raising his fists in determination. He plops down next to Shouto, squeezingbetween him and a metal crate. It’s a bit too cozy, but the warmth of another personfeels nice in the cold of the train car.
“My name is Izuku!” the boy says. “What’syours?”
“Shouto.”
“Why are you wearing a suit, Shouto?”
Shouto tugs at the collar of hissuit. It’s hot and itchy and he hates it—his father hadn’t let him leave thehouse without it, though. “I have to go to a wedding. I get to hold the ring.”
“Wow!” Izuku looks impressed. “Youmust be really special! Holding the ring is an important job.”
Shouto knows that. He’s been told so many times by his father. And, while hedoesn’t exactly welcome the idea ofanother important familial responsibility being forced upon him, he does enjoyIzuku’s appreciation. It makes him feel actuallyimportant, rather than just important because of his quirk.
Izuku gives Shouto a big smile, as ifthey’re friends. Shouto can’t help but give him a shy smile in return.
“I don’t ever want to get married,”Shouto confides in him. “But I still have to one day.”
“Not if you don’t want to!” Izukuinsists.
“It doesn’t matter if I want to. Myfather will make me.” After all, Shouto has the perfect quirk. He can’t justnot pass it down.
Izuku’s smile turns into a frown, and Shouto almost regrets speaking up. But then, Izuku gives a thoughtful humand leans against Shouto, and, suddenly, it doesn’t feel as much like Shouto’s ruinedeverything.
“You shouldn’t have to get marriedif you don’t want to,” Izuku says again. “But if you really have to, you shouldmarry a friend! Someone who could protect you.”
“I don’t…have any friends,” Shoutoadmits, shrinking in on himself at the admission.
Izuku doesn’t look at him with pity, however. He only nods. “Me neither. Well, except for Kacchan.”
“I thought you were hiding fromKacchan.”
“Yeah…”
Izuku looks skeptical at himself fora moment, but then the moment is forgotten when he gasps and turns to Shoutowith wide, green eyes. “Wait, I’ve got it! Do you want to be friends?”
Shouto’s stomach feels warm and niceat Izuku’s offer. He nods without hesitation.
“Then we should get married!” Izuku proposes.
“You…want to marry me?”
“Yeah! I could marry you and be theperson who protects you!” Izuku’s eyes shine. “I’ll protect you from anyone whomakes you do things you don’t want to do, Shouto!”
That…sounds really nice. No onehas ever been able to protect Shouto from that before, not even his mother. But, if anyone could, maybe it’s this determined, bright-eyed boy named Izuku.
“We would need rings,” Shouto says,as practical as ever. As the ring bearer for his cousin’s wedding, he knows allabout the importance of rings.
“Hmm…Oh, I know! I got this prize inmy All Might cereal yesterday.” Izuku digs around in his pockets until he pullsout a plastic All Might ring. Izuku sways in place with excitement ashe proudly brandishes the ring. “Shouto, marry me!”
“Okay,” Shouto says. He feelssuddenly shy and warm as he holds out his hand to Izuku. Izuku is still vibratingwith excitement, but his hands are steady and careful as he slips the All Mightring onto Shouto’s finger.
The two only get to spend a few moreminutes in each other’s company before Shouto’s father finds him and drags himaway. But even that doesn’t dissipate the feeling of warmth that came from having Izuku at his side and Izuku’s ring on his finger.
In the end, the wedding turns out not to be too bad. After all, it’s a bit easier to be a confident ring bearer now that Shouto has first-hand experience concerning wedding rings.
Over ten years later, Shouto hasmostly forgotten the interaction. He still has a plastic ring in his bedsidedrawer as a reminder of the day he met a nice boy on the train, but, for the mostpart, he’s left such childish things behind and has put all of his energy intobeing a hero.
At least, that was the case. But then Shouto met Midoriya Izuku.
Midoriya is…distracting. Of course he’s distracting—the day of the sports festival, Midoriya literally and figuratively knocked Shouto off his feet, turning his world upside down. Shouto could do nothing more than trail after him after something like that.
Shouto can’t bring himself to mind the distraction. Focusing on Midoriya also means focusing on the things that Midoriya likes: like makingfriends, and playing video games, and staying up too late to eat candy and watch hero documentaries. It’s all very distracting, yes, but also…lovely.
Shouto might have a bit of a crush. Heswears that it’s manageable, though. At least, it is when Midoriya isn’tbeing insufferably cute.
“Todorokiiii,” Midoriya says, leaninghis head against their lunch table.
“Iida will be back soon,” Shoutoreassures him, courageously resisting the urge to push Midoriya’s bangs out of his face.
“I know.” Midoriya sighs. “I’m justhungry. My pain meds made me too nauseous to eat this morning,” he saysmiserably. “I still think it would have just been faster for me to get my ownlunch.”
With both Midoriya’s arm and leg in a cast, Shouto somehow doubtsthat. Nonetheless, he says, “Perhaps. But, isn’t it also easier to accept helpfrom friends? You were the one who taught me that.”
Midoriya’s face softens at Shouto’swords, and Shouto finds himself smiling back. Not even when acing a practical exercise has Shouto felt as worthy as hedoes when Midoriya beams at him like that.
“Todoroki…” Midoriya begins to say,but then he’s distracted by Iida calling to them across the lunchroom. Theirclass representative is speedwalking to their table, with Uraraka joggingbehind him.
“Here you go!” Iida says, not evenout of breath as he places Midoriya’s lunch in front of him. “One katsudon forMidoriya Izuku!”
“And we got your soba too, Todoroki!”Uraraka pants, placing his lunch in front of him. “Did you get him here okay?”
Shouto nods. “He’s fine. Just—”
“Hungry,”Midoriya says, grabbing his chopsticks and digging into his lunch. “Oh my god,Iida, thank you. This is so amazing; Ithink I could marry you.”
Iida begins sputtering, but Shoutoinhales as he suddenly remembers a similar, but slightly higher-pitched voicesaying, Shouto, marry me!
“You’re Izuku,” Shouto realizes.
Midoriya’s face flushes as hetakes another bite of his lunch. “Um, yeah? T-that’s my first name.”
“No, I mean—” Shouto shakes hishead. “You’re the boy who proposed to me on the train.
The table explodes as Iida beginssputtering even more, Midoriya’s face gets even redder, and Uraraka’s excitedyelling joins the fray.
“You proposed to him?” Uraraka exclaims. “Deku, how could you not tellme you were together?”
“As much as I support yourrelationship and wish to offer my congratulations, fifteen years old is far tooyoung to be proposing!” Iida says, waving his hands. “Such a serious stepshould be given great consideration!”
“T-that was you?” Midoriya squeaks. “You’rethat Shouto? God, of course you are;how could I not see…” Food apparently forgotten, he drops his chopsticks andhides his face in his hands.
Shouto is feeling somewhat flooredhimself. He’s apparently met Midoriyabefore. That time at the sports festival wasn’t even the first time thatMidoriya tried to save Shouto.
Shouto feels the same warm, twistingfeeling in his stomach as he did on the day of the train, but thistime he’s old enough to recognize the crush for what it is. His face burns andhe’s sure that it must be as red as Izuku—as Midoriya’s is right now.
“It was when we were little,”Midoriya says, recovering enough to explain to Iida and Uraraka. “Like four orfive. We met on a train, and I gave him my plastic All Might ring. I-it wasjust playing though, we were pretending!”
Even as he speaks, however, Midoriyashoots Shouto a careful look, no doubt remembering the actual reason Shoutowanted to marry him.
Marrying Midoriya.Shouto’s face starts burning all over again. He may or may not be smoking, and, honestly, he prefers not to investigate to find out.
“That’s so cute!” Uraraka says. “Youreally were always meant to be friends, huh?”
“I—I guess so!” Midoriya turns to Shouto and beams. “We were friends even before the sports festival and wedidn’t even know it!”
Shouto gives a small smile. “Isuppose we were.”
“Tellme you still have the ring, Todoroki,” Uraraka says.
“I do,” Shouto says, because he’shonest and also an idiot. He winces when the table explodes again with Uraraka’scooing and Midoriya’s squeaking.
It’s honestly a miracle that theyall make it through their lunch with their dignity intact. Truthfully, Iida maybe the only one of them who manages that feat.
As Shouto helps Midoriya carry hisbag back to the classroom, though, he suddenly feels awkward: unsure of what todo with the knowledge of their original meeting.
Thankfully, Midoriya knows. He always seems to know, when it comes to Shouto.
“It’s so cool that we were friendseven when we’re little,” Midoriya says. “It makes me happy.”
“It makes me happy too,” Shoutosays, because it does. He smiles to himself and wonders how he ever got solucky as to be able to find Midoriya twicein one lifetime.
“I feel kind of bad though,”Midoriya admits, frowning at his shoes. “I never made good on the promise Imade to you that day.”
“Your…promise?”
“That I would protect you from the peoplewho made you do things you don’t want to do.”
Shouto turns to meet Midoriya’seyes. They’re as bright and friendly as they ever were on the train, thoughthey carry more guilt and responsibility now. Shouto wishes he could run histhumb along the frown lines on Midoriya’s forehead and make them disappear.
“Of course you made good on that promise,” Shouto says. “You still do, to this day.”
Midoriya beams. Shouto is relievedto see those frown lines go away—even if he’d still wanted to make them go awaywith his touch, rather than just his words.
Later, when class is over and they’reback in their dorms, Shouto takes the plastic All Might ring out of his bedsidetable, holds it against his racing heart, and wonders whether his crushhas grown into something a bit more serious than that.

The Wedding AU has been getting some attention recently. I don’t know where you all came from but, uh, thank you so much for reminding me about this au and how much I love it. I wrote some more of it as a kind of warm up this morning.
So here you go; Katsuki Figures Out Icyhot and Deku Because They are Super Obvious Holy Shit.
Previously in this au; Shouto confesses to Izuku during their second year at UA, and Tododeku’s first date.
Something’s up with Icyhot and Deku and it’s really starting to piss Katsuki off.
It’s not exactly unusual, something being up with them is literally their entire thing. Icyhot and Deku are usually pretty disgusting. They have this gross pining thing going on, both of them all moon-eyed over the other. Katsuki can literally track the minutes of any given practical exercise by how they act after being split up for longer periods of time. He’s actually used it to save his own ass at least once, which he maintains just proves how great he is. He can use his opponent’s teenage hormone fueled deterioration to his advantage. Dunceface says that Deku does the same thing with him but what the fuck does that idiot know? Besides, he’s not so over the moon over someone as to let it effect how he conducts himself, not like Icyhot and Deku.
Kirishima tells Katsuki that he shouldn’t be so obsessive over them but Kirishima can shut the fuck up. Katsuki knows just as much about Kirishima and Kirishima never complains about that so Katsuki doesn’t know what his fucking problem is.
What’s bothering Katsuki isn’t Icyhot and Deku’s usual heart-eyes, gravitating toward each other, coming to each other’s defense from across the entire city bullshit. No, it’s weirder.
First of all, Icyhot and Deku hold significant eye-contact now. Like, more significant than they used to. They’ve always had weird asshole eyesex powers but now it’s like they’ve perfected it. It’s creepy as shit.
Second of all, if they stand any closer to each other in the lunch line they’re going to start grinding like they’re at an inner city club.
Third, and most incriminating of all, when Icyhot leaves Deku’s room after “studying” sometimes his hair is way too mussed and his shirt is creased in places that Katsuki knows for a fact it wasn’t before. He looks like someone pushed him against a wall or onto a bed and made out with him for a not insignificant amount of time. Katsuki only saw the first time because he was on his way down to get a snack and for no other reason but that doesn’t change the pleased blushing damsel vibe Icyhot had going for him even though his face was as deadpan as ever.
It’s not like they’re being subtle.
The point is that Katsuki is pretty sure they’re fucking or something. The thought makes his face heat past boiling with some combination of fury and other emotions that he doesn’t feel like naming and Kirishima can kiss his ass.
Katsuki holds onto his disintegrating patience like a lifeline for over a month. Then he snaps.
Fall is starting to die, getting a little colder and sharper. Katsuki stays warm fairly easily but nerds like Deku have started bundling up in longer pants and oversized hoodies that look suspiciously like they might be Icyhot’s size. Icyhot watches Deku prance around the common areas wearing a great big sweatshirt with some fucked up combination of pride and hunger and Katsuki is going to fucking explode. When he just happens to step into an elevator containing only Deku coming down from Icyhot’s room, looking mussed and small in a jacket that Katsuki’s never seen Icyhot wear and yet just screams borrowed due to the way it hangs on Deku’s stocky-ass frame, Katsuki can’t help it anymore.
He reaches across the elevator halfway between floors and pushes that emergency break.
Some things never fucking change. Deku squeaks with some kind of weak-ass panicked surprise as the elevator jolts to a very sudden stop, grabbing the handrails to keep himself steady.
“Kacchan?”
“Shut the fuck up,” Katsuki says on principle.
“What’s wrong?” Deku asks and Katsuki bristles. Some things may never change but other things are always changing. Deku is a wellspring of learning. That’s why All Might chose him. They had come to an understanding this time last year, Katsuki and Deku, but that doesn’t stop Katsuki from being irritated. Especially when Deku slips into talking to him like he’s some kind of weakling that needs Deku’s stupid fucking help.
Katsuki feels his palms crackle and he clenches his fist to dampen them. He doesn’t need that right now. “Did you think I wouldn’t notice what’s going on with you and Icyhot?”
Deku is so fucking predictable. He turns an ugly shade of red and starts sputtering. “K-Kacchan? Wh-What do you, uh, mean?”
“Don’t play dumb,” Katsuki snaps. “You and Icyhot are so obvious with your…” Katsuki feels his face heating up and he snarls to cover it up. “Fucking or whatever you’re doing.”
Deku’s voice gets even higher pitched. “We’re not, we haven’t-”
Katsuki ignores him and pretends like that doesn’t give him some strange misplaced sense of relief that he doesn’t want to analyze. Maybe, if it’s still bothering him later he’ll tell Kirishima and let Kirishima analyze it for him. Kirishima’s good at feelings and shit.
“What I don’t get is why the fuck you aren’t screaming it from the rooftops.”
“It’s a secret,” Deku hisses out between his teeth.
“Why the f-”
Deku just keeps right on going. “We have to keep it from Endeavor because-”
Katsuki scowls as everything suddenly makes a whole lot of sense. He remembers. Icyhot’s sob story is hard to forget. “I know, shitnerd.” It comes out of Katsuki a little softer than he intends and Deku falls silent.
For a long moment Katsuki just looks at Deku. He’s pink faced still but he’s got that determined glint in his eye. He’s not trembling or shaking or whatever the fuck, he’s just standing there. He looks like he’d fight Endeavor single handedly if that’s what Icyhot asked for.
They both know that Icyhot would never ask.
Katsuki lets out a breath. He reaches over and releases the emergency break. With a whirr and a ding the elevator starts back up again.
“Kacchan?”
“Shut the fuck up,” Katsuki snaps. It comes out of him a little less harsh than it would normally and Katsuki doesn’t feel like correcting it. His mind is back on Icyhot, on how Deku would do anything for him, probably including ruining his fucking career like a weakling or some shit by taking Endeavor the fuck out, and Icyhot watches Deku with some kind of hunger.
Katsuki and Icyhot don’t talk very much, they keep their relationship mostly within the confines of Katsuki’s fist and Icyhot’s squishy bits. Sure, sometimes they share a few words here and there but Katsuki includes that in his fist and squishy bits definition since Icyhot is the person who makes Katsuki’s palms tingle the second most. The point is that they don’t have real conversations, they don’t talk.
If Katsuki has his way they’re gonna start, and if that doesn’t work there’s always Icyhot’s squishy bits.
Need more? After this, sorted by story arc…
Gran Torino figures out tododeku is a thing.
Toshinko get together and then Izuku visits his father.
Izuku dives off a building to save Shouto, they hit the ground, they end up in the hospital, and they finally get to go home.
Uraraka and Iida figure out Tododeku.
Tododeku come out, social media responds, endeavor reacts, Izuku supports Shouto after Endeavor’s reaction, and Endeavor has a bit of a public meltdown.
Shouto is mind controlled by a villain, Izuku doesn’t deal well with Shouto being missing, Shouto breaks out of the mind control, Shouto wakes up in the hospital after, and Shouto and Izuku go home to spend some time together.
The proposal, the marriage, and Shouto is now a Midoriya.
The Midoriyas open a center for quirkless kids.

I need touch starved Midoriya after Shouto comes back from the mind control >°
Tumblr media
Ha HA. I’m back with some more TodoDeku Wedding AU~ Thank you all so much for all your love and interest when it comes to this AU and for your patience. I hope that this is something you enjoy, especially since I’ve been gone for so long. I’m glad to be back~
Previously in this AU;
Shouto confesses to Izuku during their second year at UA, Izuku and Shouto go on their first date, and then Bakugou figures them out.
Gran Torino figures tododeku out.
Toshinko get together and then tododeku visit Izuku’s father.
Izuku dives off a building to save Shouto, they hit the ground, they end up in the hospital, and they finally get to go home.
Uraraka and Iida figure out Tododeku.
Tododeku come out to some teenagers, social media responds, Endeavor is a homophobe, Izuku supports Shouto after Endeavor’s bullshit, and Endeavor has a bit of a public meltdown.
Shouto is mind controlled by a villain, Izuku doesn’t deal well with Shouto being missing, Shouto breaks out of the mind control, and Shouto wakes up in the hospital after.
Izuku isn’t sure that Shouto understands how bad it was.
Shouto mostly just seems tired and guilty for what he did under the mind control. Izuku reassures him that he doesn’t care, that he knows it wasn’t Shouto, but Shouto is hung up on it anyway. It will take a while for Shouto to let it go but Izuku’s already over it. There are more important things to worry about, like how Shouto nearly died.
The doctor described it as some kind of overload. His brain and nervous system didn’t react well to leaving the mind control by force. He could have died. He could have never woken up.
He could have been lost to Izuku for good.
It’s been a while since Shouto’s had a near death experience, it’s been a while since either of them have had a near death experience. Being at the top of the world and in the best shape of their lives does that. Their graduating class of Yuuei is rather famous for how strong they are. At least half of them are in the top 50 heroes or support techs in the country despite the fact that they’re all still in their early twenties.
A class of prodigies forged in war. Accidents happen all the time, though. Usually to Izuku. Izuku is rarely on this side of a major injury.
“I’m not made of glass,” Shouto sighs when Izuku stops him from getting off the couch. He’s starting to get annoyed but Izuku can’t help it. He’s worried that there will be side effects.
Continuing symptoms, the doctor called them. There’s a list of them Izuku’s supposed to watch out for. At the very top of that is seizures. The word makes Izuku think of Shouto shaking in his arms and clenching his hands so hard he made himself bleed with his eyes rolled back in his head on a dirty warehouse floor.
“I know,” Izuku says, his voice coming out a bit defensive. Shouto turns his head to watch as Izuku scrambles to the kitchen with the glass Shouto tried to stand up to refill with water. “I just want to take things slow.”
“I feel fine,” Shouto says.
“Humor me?”
“I’ve been humoring you all day,” Shouto says. His voice has lost some of it’s bite and is more fond and exasperated.
“It’s only the first day you’ve been home,” Izuku argues as he fills the glass. “You have a lot of days, I should get at least one.”
“You get all my days, you already know that,” Shouto says. Izuku feels warm all over and he’s pretty sure he’s blushing. “I’m still allowed to get my own water.”
Izuku bites his lip and looks away, looking back at the now full water glass. He watches the water slosh slightly with the slight tremor of his hand.
“Izuku,” Shouto sighs. “I don’t want to cause you any more trouble than I already have.”
“You cause me more trouble by arguing,” Izuku says. “I missed you, just let me-”
“I’m sorry.”
Izuku sets the water down on the counter and looks back at Shouto. “You’ve been saying that a lot recently.”
“It’s true,” Shouto says. He looks sad and a bit haunted, faded around the edges like he’s painted in watercolor and blurring away. Izuku swallows and blinks and the image clears a bit. “I did horrible things, I burned you-”
“Stop apologizing, Shouto. I’m not mad at you.”
Shouto’s eyes slide to the side. “Maybe you should be.”
It’s been a long day for both of them. Checking Shouto out of the hospital, the strange feeling that the apartment has been shifted in space and time a bit to the left as Izuku struggles to reconcile it with the last time he was here, and the slowly building argument about Shouto’s apologies and Izuku’s anxious caretaking. Part of Izuku feels like it’s still last week, still a time where he can’t close his eyes without imagining something terrible happening to Shouto.
Izuku walks back to Shouto’s side. He stops and offers Shouto his hand, palm up. Shouto watches him with wide eyes.
There’s a long moment where Izuku doesn’t say anything and neither does Shouto. They stare at each other and then Shouto takes Izuku’s hand and lets him pull Shouto to his feet.
Izuku walks backwards, guiding Shouto with a hand in his and his other one palming Shouto’s opposite side. Shouto’s free hand skates up Izuku’s bicep, at first for balance as Izuku pulls him along and then because their bodies are close enough that it seems right. Izuku pulls and Shouto follows and wordlessly they head into the bedroom.
Turning them around is easy. Shouto is soft and goes willingly wherever Izuku guides him. Wordlessly Izuku sit Shouto on the bed.
Letting go of Shouto is harder than he thought it would be but it’s worth it when he climbs into bed on his side. He reaches for Shouto and Shouto hesitates before reaching back.
Even without One For All Izuku is strong and he pulls Shouto in and down easily. He doesn’t really think about the angle and his face ends up squished against Shouto’s solar plexus. It’s fine because it’s Shouto.
Izuku shifts around a bit to get more comfortable, turning his head so he can breathe. Laying down with Shouto is nice and he keeps a firm hold around Shouto’s hips despite the fact that his arm is pinched slightly under Shouto. His hands sneak up the back of Shouto’s teeshirt so he can smooth them over skin and feel how warm and alive Shouto is under his heads.
“Izuku-”
“No,” Izuku says.
“No,” Shouto repeats.
“No,” Izuku confirms. “No more apologies, no more babying. Just you and me.”
Shouto’s fingers push their way through Izuku’s curls and he doesn’t say anything for a long moment. It’s a nice moment. The ghost of an empty apartment and an empty bed burns away under Shouto’s touch. Izuku closes his eyes and lets his muscles relax.
“I never want to hurt you,” Shouto says quietly.
Izuku takes a shuddering breath. His throat aches. “I know.”
Shouto seems to relax a little under Izuku’s palms. He sighs and pushes Izuku’s hair back a bit.
They stay like that until Izuku can feel Shouto’s heart beating against his temple, steady and sure. There are no scars on Shouto’s body from this adventure and only a small patch of burned skin on Izuku’s side. Still, the last week and a half have been long and scary and Izuku’s thought of nothing except the worst that could happen.
Tears slip down his face, warm and quiet and slow.
“I love you,” Izuku says through the thickness in his throat.
“I love you too.”
“I don’t think I could do this without you.”
Shouto makes a thoughtful hum, his hand slowing where it’s been running through Izuku’s hair again and again. “I don’t know. You’re pretty stubborn.”
Izuku turns his face into Shouto’s shirt a little. He still smells like hospital, like antiseptic and unscented detergent and the almost chalky smell of medical tape and gauze that somehow gets into everything even when there are no physical injuries to be bandaged. “Okay, so maybe I just wouldn’t want to.”
Shouto sighs, his hand picking up speed in Izuku’s hair again. “It doesn’t matter anyway, I’m not going anywhere.”
With reluctance Izuku lifts his head to look at Shouto’s face. He’s frowning slightly, eyeing Izuku with seriousness and some kind of sadness. When Izuku meets his eyes his expression clears slightly and one of his soft smiles comes to his lips.
“I’m okay now, Izuku.”
A smile comes to Izuku’s face without his permission, watery and unsteady and relieved. “Good.”

Maybe Shouto's reactions as he gets used to being called "Midoriya" after they got married? OR maybe Izuku's too!
I ended up just doing Shouto’s, I’m sorry! This wasn’t really a getting used to as much as his feelings on it. It’s a bit sappy hskdjfhksjdhf
Previously in this au, sorted by story arc;
Shouto is mind controlled by a villain, Izuku doesn’t deal well with Shouto being missing, Shouto breaks out of the mind control, Shouto wakes up in the hospital after, and Shouto and Izuku go home to spend some time together.
The proposal and the marriage.
“Midoriya-san, did you ever finish the report for the fifth street incident?”
Shouto looks up and blinks at Shiki. She’s the relentless force that keeps the paperwork at the agency organized and Izuku considers her his best hire. Shiki isn’t afraid to come into the office of the top hero in the country and make demands for the sake of the agency’s record room. He doesn’t feel off balance because she barged into his office, this is a common occurance, he’s off balance because she used his name.
Everyone in the agency office refers to Shouto by his surname instead of by his hero name by request, that’s not the unusual part. What is the unusual part is his name.
He had forgotten over the last week away on their honeymoon what that felt like. Izuku always refers to him by his first name or by his hero name while they’re working. The last time someone referred to him by his surname, his new surname, was at the wedding reception.
Shouto can’t help the warm feeling it gives him after the initial shock wears off. He smiles at Shiki. “What was the date on that?”
She lifts one perfect eyebrow. “The seventh.”
Two days before the wedding. Shouto digs through the pile of overdue paperwork on his desk that had multiplied tenfold while he and Izuku were gone. He knows that when Izuku gets back from his patrol he’s going to be doing paperwork all night.
After a long moment of shuffling papers he locates the report in question. It’s halfway complete and at the bottom of the stack, lost between two different sidekick evaluations that he still needs to review and sign off on before putting them on Izuku’s desk. They are, of course, the last two heroes in the agency that need to review them and add anything they think is missing.
“Paperwork really piles up when you’re gone,” Shouto muses to himself.
“That is the nature of the beast,” Shiki says.
“The report you need still isn’t done,” Shouto admits. “I should be able to get it to you later today?”
She sighs but she looks fond behind her severe expression. “Well, anything’s better than Catalyst-san. He keeps putting his off.”
Shouto frowns. Catalyst is a hero a few years younger than Shouto and Izuku who made his debut in the pro scene just last year. He was a sidekick under Bakugou for a few years before going pro at their agency. He’s a grumpy man who hates things like paperwork. His evaluations of the sidekicks are generally lacking in detail and nearly useless but his quirk, which allows him to strengthen or negate the quirks of others, is invaluable in battle. Not to mention that despite his distaste for writing anything down ever his combat analysis is top notch. “Do you want me to talk to him?”
Shiki waves a hand in the air. “Don’t worry, Midoriya-san. I can handle him.”
The sound of Shouto’s new last name gives him another pang of shock before another rush of warmth. He wishes Izuku was in the office nextdoor. Hearing Shiki call him ‘Midoriya’ makes Shouto want very much to feel Izuku under his hands and hear him laugh.
Shouto’s been in love with Izuku for a long time but sometimes it still blindsides him.
“I’ll leave Catalyst to you, then, and I should have this report to you in only a few hours.”
Shiki nods. “See that you do.” She turns to go but right before she walks out his door she gives him a smile. “Welcome back, Midoriya-san, and congratulations again.”
Shouto can’t help the smile that comes across his face. Izuku might even describe it as beaming, though most people wouldn’t. “Thank you, Shiki.”
With that Shiki is gone and Shouto should really buckle down and work on that report for her but he sits back in his desk chair for a moment. When Izuku and Shouto had first started planning the wedding one of the questions that came up was one of surnames. Izuku had initially wondered if they should hyphenate but Shouto has known since early in their third year of high school that he wanted to replace his father’s name with Izuku’s. At the time it had been a pipe dream, something his mind wandered to on occasion.
Now that pipe dream is real.
Shouto pulls the report for the fifth street incident towards himself. At the top under responding heroes there are three names. Haruyama Yoji; Catalyst, Todoroki Shouto; Thermo, Tsumaru Hinata; Golden Flash.
Last week seems like a lifetime ago. He and Izuku were so busy trying to finalize everything, trying to make sure that nothing would go wrong while they were away. Last week he was Todoroki Shouto. This week, though… This week he’s back to life as normal. Well, life as the new normal. Life married to Izuku so that the entire world can see them as they are just by reading his name.
Shouto stares at the report and twists his ring around his finger for a moment before picking up his pen. He scratches out his name and rewrites it in the cramped space above.
Midoriya Shouto; Thermo.
After this; The Midoriyas open a center for quirkless kids.

Would you mind continuing with the mind control feauture ? Maybe after the fight, and how todoroki feels about it ? Thanks ! Lovely writing :)
Tumblr media
This isn’t all the messages I have about the mind control but I’m splitting them into two groups so I can give each type of aftermath the attention it deserves. So this is the first of two that I will be putting out over the course of the next couple of days~
Thank you so much for your interest and for your kind words on my writing! The Wedding AU has become very important to me and I’m always so excited to get requests for it~ As always, thank you so much for your patience!
Previously in this au, sorted by story arc;
Shouto is mind controlled by a villain, Izuku doesn’t deal well with Shouto being missing, and Shouto breaks out of the mind control.
Shouto is fairly certain that the pain is what wakes him. He has what is undoubtedly the most intense headache of his life. Everything is fuzzy and far away, his stomach rolls, and he can’t help but wonder what he did to deserve this. Things like memories and spoken language seem far away but one thing floats indistinctly in front of him.
Izuku.
He pries his eyes open and his insides immediately rebel against the motion, attempting to fight their way out of him with force. He rolls to the side, some half forgotten instinct telling him that he needs to curl up on his side and not cover himself in his own vomit. Somewhere something is ringing. Maybe an alarm, maybe Shouto’s ears.
There are people talking and then everything kaleidoscopes back out of focus.
This happens a handful more times. Shouto’s not sure of the exact numbers because that awareness leaves him too. Eventually the headache that wakes him doesn’t threaten to kill him on the spot and opening his eyes doesn’t increase the pain.
For what could be a long time or no time at all his vision swims, hazy and indistinct light shadowed by sharp points of darkness. Eventually, Shouto realizes that those are his eyelashes.
He had barely opened his eyes at all. Huh.
Slowly he pushes his eyes further open and is met with what is most certainly a hospital room. That makes sense. There’s only one place to be when that much pain overtakes you.
Shouto lets his eyes roam over what he can see of the room. It’s a nice room. The best that money can buy, probably. That almost certainly has to do with the green head of curls napping on his thigh.
Izuku was probably holding Shouto’s hand at some point judging by the way his fingers lay only centimeters from Shouto’s. He’s facing towards Shouto and even from here at the terrible angle of looking down his nose Shouto can see that Izuku is okay. He’s got plenty of color and the smudged bags under his eyes are manageable instead of deep circles. He looks better than the last time Shouto saw him, when…
Shouto’s brain comes up short, stumbling around instead of following the thought to the memory that obviously lies at the end.
“Shouto,” says a voice that Shouto knows well. He looks towards it and finds himself forced to turn his head. He winces at the movement but it doesn’t stop him from looking at his mother.
“Okaasan,” Shouto says in greeting, his voice scratching its way out of his throat in a way that makes him think that someone recently destroyed it. It hurts to talk but it’s worth it to see his mother’s gentle smile.
Shouto’s mother sits in a hospital chair, poised in that careful way she’s been since he first started talking to her again back in high school. Shouto’s mother moves slowly and speaks softly and holds herself with this almost fragile kind of grace. Even though she looks like his mother, beautiful and washed out, there are dark circles under her eyes that weren’t there the last time he saw her. At least, he doesn’t think they were.
Shouto blinks at her and finds it difficult to push his eyes back open. He’s tired.
“How are you?” Shouto asks through the pain in his throat.
Shouto’s mother laughs, a light and airy sound, and Shouto feels victorious. She leans forward and puts her hand lightly on his forehead.
“It’s okay if you’re tired, Shouto. You’ve been through a lot. You should rest.”
Shouto would shake his head but that much movement sounds like a bad idea. Instead he fishes for answers. “I was asleep for a long time?”
“Yes,” Shouto’s mother says.
“How long?”
Shouto’s mother runs her fingers up and through his hair. He’s sure that the red and white strands are mixing together, if they weren’t already, and it’s not the first time that Shouto has wondered how his mother feels about that even all these years later.
“Five days,” Shouto’s mother says and Shouto’s thought process comes to a halt. “Visitors come and go. As your legal family, Fuyumi or I have had to approve each person every time they return. Except Izuku-kun. He never left.”
Shouto turns his head so he can look at Izuku again, who still sleeps on his thigh. His jaw is loose and his lips are gaping slightly. If he’s left there for too long a small puddle of drool will start to grow. He must be exhausted. Especially after… After Shouto betrayed him.
It’s been a long week.
Shouto lets his mind wander back to the fight where he apparently lost his will. Everything seems so unreal, like he watched it in a movie or dreamed it. The only thing that seemed real, that still seems like it might be real, is that Teian was right. At the time it was all that mattered. Now he’s not even sure if it will still be true in an hour.
The worst part, though, was Izuku’s face. Izuku’s sunken eyes and sickly complexion and obvious panic. The worst part was fighting Izuku and having no control over the outcome. Having no control over anything.
The worst part was burning Izuku.
With a not insignificant amount of effort Shouto lifts his arm and stretches his fingers towards Izuku. He wants to see Izuku smile at him again. He wants Izuku to be real.
Before he can touch Izuku, though, he finds himself stopping. His fingers hang in the air, held aloft by his willpower and his cowardice.
What right does he have to touch Izuku again?
“Shouto?” His mother asks.
Shouto blinks and then looks at her. His arm sags in the air but he doesn’t let it drop.
“Izuku-kun told me what happened,” Shouto’s mother says gently and Shouto can feel his lips part in surprise and the half aborted flinch take over his shoulders. She continues before Shouto can react. “You should know that he’s mostly just glad to have you back.”
Shouto’s mother smiles. It’s a sad thing. It’s the sad thing, the thing the he knows weighs her down more than anything. She doesn’t talk about it often. In fact, in the past six or so years they’ve skirted around the subject more times than Shouto can count.
“The things you’re forced to do aren’t your fault even if you have to carry them with you the same way you would your decisions.”
Shouto swallows and looks back to Izuku. Izuku, who has been sleeping soundly through their entire softly spoken conversation. Izuku, who came for him and fought for him and has stayed by his side after everything. Izuku, who always forgives him.
Trying not to let it fall too heavily, Shouto finally touches his fingers down into Izuku’s fluffy hair.
The change is immediate. Izuku’s face scrunches up and his back stiffens. He blinks awake and Shouto can see the exact moment that he registers what’s happening and that Shouto is awake. His expression breaks into a sunny, sparkling, beautiful expression of pure relief.
“Shouto,” Izuku says and then his eyes overflow.
Shouto slides his hand through Izuku’s hair and down his temple to push against the side of his face just so he can catch some of Izuku’s tears on his thumb. Izuku catches his hand and holds him there, starting to tremble. “Izuku.”
“I should go get the doctor,” Shouto’s mother says. “She’ll want to check up on you.”
Shouto is exhausted and doesn’t want to look away from Izuku but he does to shoot his mother a grateful smile as she stands. She’s probably trying to give them space.
Izuku sniffles and leans closer. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“Sorry,” Shouto says. Then, again, because now that it’s in the air he feels like it needs to be said again. “I’m sorry, Izuku.”
Izuku just shakes his head slightly before pressing a kiss to Shouto’s pulse. “I missed you.”
There’s a lump in Shouto’s throat. He swallows around it and wonders how much longer he can stay awake. He doesn’t want to leave Izuku again, not so quickly.
“Me too.”
Izuku takes a shuddering breath and smiles. “You missed me or you missed you?”
Shouto barely has to think about it. “Both.”
Izuku gives a wet laugh and then his tears take over and he breaks down into full sobs just in time for the doctor to come in the room.
After this Shouto and Izuku go home and spend some time together.
Then there’s the proposal, the marriage, and Shouto is now a Midoriya.
After that, the Midoriyas open a center for quirkless kids.

for the tddk Wedding AU, if they both have the same last name after they got married, how do ppl at their agency differentiate between them (I know Shouto wanted to be referred to by last name, is the same with Izuku, or do they call him Deku-san)? Has anyone ever said "Midoriya-san" and both of them turn?
At work they call Izuku “Deku” or “Deku-san” or the occasional “Hero Deku” so there isn’t generally a confusion there. Eventually Shouto gets used to being called “Midoriya” and doesn’t look up from surprise but from genuine “what do you need” and that’s when things start getting really confusing, especially in non-work settings. Because when acquaintances are like “Midoriya-san” at first Shouto doesn’t look up because Izuku is here so they’re probably talking to him but as he gets used to it they both look up all the time for everything. Even things that don’t make sense because they’re just like that.
“Midoriya-san, I heard your mother had to return to the hospital for a short while?”
“My mother had to WHAT?”
“Yes, some days are worse than others but she’s become very good at being able to tell when she needs extra assistance. Fuyami says she’ll be coming home again soon.”
“Oh, Shouto’s mother. Right.”
“Midoriya-san, can you move this out of the way?”
“... that’s got to weigh a literal ton?”
“Sure, I got this.”
“Oh, right.”
“Midoriya-san, who was your favorite hero growing up?”
“All Might!”
(that one doesn’t matter, it’s the same answer)

Hi! In the tododeku coming out ficlet, you mentioned near the end about a middle-of-the-night confession when they were still in high school. May I request a ficlet about that? Thanks so much in advance! (Your writing is amazing btw)
sldjfksjdfh This even predates the Gran Torino ficlet in the same universe omg. Thank you so much for your kind words and your request. I hope you like blushy, nervous, high school boys~
Izuku is regretting listening to Kaminari. It had seemed like such a fun idea, having everyone sleep over in his room for the first day back from summer break. Hauling all the pillows and blankets onto Izuku floor and building themselves a huge pile of togetherness was fun, laughing and talking and roughhousing with each other was fun, trying to sleep is not fun at all.
It’s so hot. Izuku is going to die. The time for modesty already ended, Izuku and many others have already stipped down to the least number of clothes that isn’t indecent. The difference between them and Izuku is that Izuku is still awake.
Izuku sighs at the ceiling. He’s so hot. The air conditioning just isn’t equipped to deal with this level or heat.
In retrospect, this was a terrible idea.
He jumps and nearly squeaks when something cold touches his arm and then he melts when he realizes that it was just Todoroki’s hand. It feels so good and Todoroki must be awake because he shifts to wrap his whole hand around Izuku’s bicep. Izuku turns his head to see Todoroki watching him, moonlight falling across his face from the open window. His blue eye reflects it back silver and his dark gray eye looks bottomless, a stark contrast to the way his white hair is lit up and his red hair is practically black. Todoroki is always juxtaposed extremes when it comes to his coloring but cast in shadow with moonlight tracing his features it’s even more pronounced.
Izuku smiles at him and hopes that he can see it in the dark. His heart skips a beat when Todoroki squeezes his arm comfortingly and a tiny smile comes to his lips.
“It’s too hot,” Izuku breathes in Todoroki’s direction, trying not to wake the rest of their classmates.
Todoroki shrugs, jostling Izuku slightly, and Izuku remembers that Todoroki’s temperature control makes extreme heat and cold much more bearable for him. Izuku hesitatnly reaches out and grips Todoroki’s arm back, laying his arm along Todoroki’s and soaking up the cold. It feels good and Izuku’s eyelids flutter before he fixes his gaze on Todoroki’s face again. Todoroki watches him sharply, probably trying to make sure he doesn’t overdo it on the cold.
“Why are you still awake?” Izuku asks softly.
“Strange place, not used to it,” Todoroki says, his voice dropped impossibly low in an effort to keep quiet. It makes Izuku shiver as it rumbles it’s way out of Todoroki’s chest and up through his hand.
“Sorry,” Izuku says.
Todoroki shrugs again and the smooth movement under his hand makes Izuku’s mouth go dry.
“Is the heat stopping you from sleeping?”
Izuku doesn’t trust his voice to come out quiet and low so he only nods. Todoroki moves his hand from Izuku’s arm, crawling it up Izuku’s bare shoulder and across his collarbone. Izuku feels goosebumps rise on his skin in the wake of Todoroki’s fingers. It feels so good.
Todoroki rolls a little closer so he can slide his fingers to the back of Izuku’s neck. Izuku leans against his hand and sighs, closing his eyes. His body seems to cool off a bit and Izuku opens his eyes just in time to catch Todoroki breathing out frost.
Izuku’s mouth falls open and he stares. It always looks unfairly good when Todoroki does that. Izuku wants to cover Todoroki’s mouth with his own and drink down that frost, feel it hit the inside of his mouth and curl against his tongue.
He needs to get himself together. They’re friends. Just friends.
Izuku realizes he’s been staring at Todoroki’s mouth too long when Todoroki says, “Midoriya,” in his low, low voice, shifting just a bit closer to grip the back of Izuku’s neck more comfortably. He snaps his eyes up to Todoroki’s to find Todoroki staring at him.
“Todoroki-kun,” Izuku replies, throat feeling thick.
“I-” Todoroki stops, hesitating. His eyes slide away from Izuku’s and his cool grip on the back of Izuku’s neck loosens. Izuku is still holding on to Todoroki’s arm so he slides his hand up to Todoroki’s shoulder and squeezes.
“It’s okay, Todoroki-kun,” Izuku says as quietly as he can, smiling when Todoroki looks back at him. They’re friends, best friends. He doesn’t want Todoroki to look so torn. “You can tell me anything.”
Todoroki stares at him for a moment and then something comes over him. His expression becomes determined, his eyes pleading, his mouth scared. It’s a heartbreaking expression, like he’s about to jump over a cliff and he doesn’t know what’s at the bottom. Like he’s about to say something that will change Izuku’s whole world.
“I’m in lo- like. I like you.”
Izuku can only stare. Was Todoroki going to say he loves Izuku? Is this a confession, the kind of confession Izuku tries not to daydream about coming from Todoroki’s lips? For a moment Izuku goes back to his fantasy, the one where he’s brave enough to slide his lips over Todoroki’s and feel the frost from his lungs. I love you too, is what he wants to say. No words pass his lips, they just work the air uselessly as he stares at Todoroki and dreams.
Todoroki starts to pull away after a moment, looking wide eyed, but Izuku’s grip on his arm tightens hard enough that he winces.
“Am I dreaming?” he whispers, mindful of the classmates sleeping around him. “Did I fall asleep after all?”
Todoroki eyes him. “No.”
Izuku slides his hand up Todoroki’s arm until he can take Todoroki’s wrist and pull it from his neck. He brings Todoroki’s cold hand to his face to cool his feverish blush. “Oh my god.”
“Midoriya?”
“Go out with me,” Izuku says to the dark of Todoroki’s hand over his eyes. It’s easier to say when he can’t see anything. “Like, on a date.”
Todoroki is stiff but when he says, “Yeah, okay,” it comes rushing out of him breathy and fast, like a sigh or a whisper or a confession in the dark.

Hello you awsome writer!! I m not very good with eng but I can understand it very well, so I see you accept requests again which is awsome because I love what you write so I am so into your tododeku story and I would like if after the wedding they choose to adopt kids? Or did deku adopted every quirkless kids he sees haha! Or does he have like a special orphanage-like house or association to help quirkless kids to have faith and confidence in this world (and maybe.. find a successor )
I’m shkdjfhskjdf this is so cute~ Kiddos~ I really hope you like what I decided to do with it, my friend~ After thinking about it I decided that Izuku would totally funnel money into some kind of public service for quirkless kids because go big or go home.

The director of Hero Deku’s Center for Quirkless Excellence is tireless. It’s Hanashi Nagai’s job to make sure that the center runs smoothly, that all the young children who are dropped off here during the day have something to do. She has to prepare snacks and schedules, activities that will enrich the children under her care while also staying fun. She has to make sure that the kids that are brought here after school of all ages will be engaged, not just the preschool aged ones. She has to make sure that the quirkless orphans who live here because they have nowhere else to go are safe and happy. It’s a job that demands that she constantly be moving, constantly aware and available. She’s grateful every day that her quirk stops her from needing sleep.
Nagai’s position at the center may be tireless but it isn’t thankless. Her small staff of employees, mostly quirkless, are grateful for her hard work. The parents of the quirkless children are thankful that she is there, the quirkless kids themselves are thankful when they aren’t demanding extra dessert. No one, however, is more thankful than the center’s namesake and his soft spoken husband.
Before working at Hero Deku’s Center for Quirkless Excellence, Nagai had made a career out of non-profit work but never before has she felt this valued in a position by the owners.
The middle of the day is her planning period, it’s when she sits in her office and balances the next weeks budget. She writes reports, plans special activities, goes over the occasional adoption application, and handles parent complaints. It’s inevitable that one of the employees working under her will come and get her with some kind of problem that they need her to fix, such is the life of the manager, so she’s expecting it when Tsuo knocks lightly on her open door and pokes her head in.
“Hanashi-san, sorry to interrupt,” Tsuo says.
Nagai rubs a little at the bridge of her nose but she sets her pen down and smiles at Tsuo all the same. “It’s alright, what happened?”
Tsuo smiles back and the expression makes Nagai relax. If something were truly wrong Tsuo wouldn’t be so at ease. “The Midoriyas are here. I think they came to see you but, well, you know…” She trails off and her eyes slide to the side. One of her shoulders pops up slightly in a half shrug.
Nagai does know.
She pushes away from her desk and stands, stretching slightly when she finds her back stiff from bending over the desk. “Are they in the yard or the rec room?”
“Yard,” Tsuo says and she’s almost laughing. “They barely made it past the front gate.”
Shaking her head, Nagai follows Tsuo from her office and through the center’s halls. They come out onto the yard that surrounds the building, fenced in and filled with different areas for free time. There’s a patch of grass some of the children play soccer in sometimes and a few play structures that are kept up well. Only a few meters inside the main gate all of the daytime children are huddled around the number one hero as he answers their questions, probably the kind of questions only kids younger than six can ask.
Nagai and Tsuo make their way over and it’s Midoriya Shouto’s mismatched eyes that meet theirs first. He nods his head to them and Nagai nods back.
“Can you punch hard enough to make the world spin backwards?” Shouga demands.
“You know,” Deku says, laughing. “I’ve never tried.”
Shouga gasps, outraged by this, but before he can tell his hero off for not attempting to disrupt their place in the solar system Haruka pipes up. “Have you guys seen fairies?”
Midoriya and his husband glance at each other. “I don’t know,” Deku says. “What do they look like?”
“They’re small,” she says. “And they’re blue and green and they sparkle and they can fly and grant wishes!”
Deku opens his mouth but Midoriya beats him too it. “I know someone like that,” he says, straight faced.
Haruka beams. “And they’re beautiful, right?”
“Beautiful,” Midoriya agrees.
Deku turns pink and covers his face. “I can’t believe you,” he says, words muffled by his palms.
Midoriya looks smug. He leans into Deku and pushes a kiss to Deku’s temple. “Just being honest.”
The children are not bothered by the Midoriyas’ affection. They see it at least once a week.
“Do you have to make your own lunches,” Korikure cuts in, “since Morimori-sensei is here making our lunches?”
“Alright,” Nagai calls over the children’s heads. She should have put a stop to it sooner, there’s no end to the questions, but seeing two of the nation’s top heroes crouching among excited preschoolers always softens her heart. The flock of children turn to her, whines already in their throats. “Deku-san and Thermo-san have to come talk to me for a little bit now but if they have time they might help with rec time today.”
There’s a small cheer that goes up and as Deku and his husband stand one of the oldest orphans that hasn’t started school yet, Yomiru, grabs Deku by the pant leg. “Please stay, Hero Deku-san.”
Deku runs a hand through her pale green curls and smiles down at her. It’s the smile he’s famous for, the one that inspires confidence in everyone who sees it. “As long as we can, Yomiru-chan.”

I vote your Proposal Fic! I’m on mobile so I can’t get the play easily, but proposal fic!
The TodoDeku Wedding AU Proposal:
“It’s fine,” Shouto says. “A few minutes won’t change much.”
“Well, maybe not in the grand scheme of things,” Izuku says, hunting around in the hall closet for his coat. “I still don’t want to be late, though.” Izuku makes a noise of frustration when he doesn’t find what he’s looking for and pulls back. He closes the closet door and heads back towards the bedroom, probably to check that closet.
Shouto snatches his wrist, stopping him in his tracks.
“Izuku, breathe. It’s just meeting everyone for drinks, it’s not a press conference.”
Izuku takes an exaggerated, pointed deep breath. Shouto can’t help but laugh a little, the air rushing out of him softly.
“We’re not even that late,” Shouto continues.
“I know,” Izuku says. “I just don’t want to get any later.”
Shouto searches Izuku’s expression with his eyes. He seems tight, stressed. More stressed about being late than he would normally be. Shouto tries to think of a reason why but nothing comes to the front of his mind.
“Izuku,” Shouto starts to ask and Izuku jumps, effectively causing Shouto’s voice to die in his throat.
“Shouto,” Izuku says, a bit of a whine to his voice. “We’re going to be late.”
Shouto, reluctantly, lets Izuku go.
I have so many feelings about the TodoDeku Wedding AU but I was like Super Nervous to write the proposal. I knew that if it wasn’t good it could ruin a lot, especially since the wedding itself is so beloved by at least a few people. I argued with myself over who to have do the actual Proposing. In the end I flipped a coin again and it landed on Shouto and I realized that I wanted it to be Izuku the entire time. Funny, that.
I probably wanted it to be Izuku because I was nervous and Izuku is often outwardly nervous in non-combat situations. This way I was just able to let Izuku channel me. He’s in a rush, he’s excited, he’s worried that it will all go wrong and not be seen as good enough. I poured all that into Izuku and then stepped away and said “How does that look to the person who knows him best?”
So Izuku hunts around for the ring he bought and tries not to look suspicious but fails miserably and Shouto worries because that’s what Shouto does.
On top of that, I wanted to show some domesticity. At the time I had just finished some of the coming out stuff and I wanted to heavily imply that it’s been a while since all that went down and they’re content now. This is how life is. They’re out, they’re happy, their lives are comfortably intertwined in all the right ways. So Shouto thinks they’re going out with their friends and it’s such a common, relaxed occurrence that Izku being anxious just doesn’t make any sense.
You know, it’s kinda funny that I’ve become known for stuff like this, stuff that is soft and sweet and painfully cute. I’ve never considered it my strong suit. I’m always so very anxious to try and write it, to make it come out and give that soft emotion I know people are looking for. It feels kinda vulnerable, like someone will come stomping in like “this is what you think passes for emotional intimacy???” and then I’ll punch them and never write again.
Also, Izuku being a sassy little shit with that pointed deep breath is my life. I just love it a lot. I worried it would be too out of character so I tried to soften it a bit and make it less sharp than I might have with another character. I like how it lends the beginning this little bit of joking around even though Izuku is nervous. It feels comfortable, which is what I wanted. I wanted the proposal to be between Izuku and Shouto, not between Deku and Thermo.
