given historical ranges of different species, what kinds of frogs could have been present for the plague of frogs in exodus?
Fantastic question. Let's assume that the Egyptians considered toads and frogs to be different organisms, and therefore the stories referring to frog plagues indeed mean frogs other than Bufonidae (I think this is a reasonable assumption). If this is the case, there are basically two key candidates: Ptychadena nilotica and Pelophylax saharicus. Ptychadena have the edge over Pelophylax because they are somewhat more tolerant of drier habitats. Sometimes they occur in huge densities, so that every step sends dozens springing away. Both can lay enormous clutches, many thousands of eggs, and in a particularly wet year, I could easily imagine a boom in froglet development that would cause a 'plague'. And because the frogs would be trying to disperse, but heading into habitat that is too dry for them to persist long-term, you would quickly have a lot of dead frogs.

theres one piece of dishonored lore that i want to know more than anything. why did the outsider mark daud?
i don't mean his actual, personal reason though. from what we've seen, the outsider offers his mark to people who have recently fallen from grace or otherwise tasted the bottom of a boot. corvo was framed for the murder of his empress and lover, emily was toppled from her throne by an egomaniacal despot.
but what about daud? did he botch some contract or get backstabbed in the early days of the whalers? what left him sobbing and hollow in the gutter and why was it so compelling to make god offer gifts?

leaving jokes aside do u guys realize that will getting plague powers in tsats is not likely to happen bc he's been already established to be the opposite of nico being a calm and healing presence in his life and giving him powers that are based in destruction and death is the complete opposite of that, right?

Hello ar fans, how are we doing? Waiting patiently to go feral over ep.11, I assume? (me too)
ANYWAYS, chat, I’m here to pitch an idea that came to me. I need to make a post talking about it or I’ll go insane. /pos
(rambling commences under the cut so this post doesn’t take too much space !! <3)
OKAY SO—
Mark inevitably finding out about Petro’s motives and his plan, but instead of being betrayed and upset? He joins him. They become partners in crime <3
Do I think this will happen? No, not at all. Mark’s character is far too kind; plus, taking part in a plan that would probably cause mass destruction and hundreds of casualties would go against the fact he signed up to be a guard (somebody who protects others and fights to prevent tragedies like that).
However, the idea of Mark doing a 180 from this sweet, naive character, to having a villain arc solely to continue being Petro’s “friend” is one that heavily interests me.
All of his thoughtfulness for others is zapped away, the only person he cares for being Petro. The only person he protects being Petro; he is his personal guard after all :)
[ It’s up to you whether this hypothetical-scenario Mark joined Petro willingly, or if there was some convincing and or manipulating involved. Or maybe straight-up mind control. Who knows. ]
I’m not sure where this idea came from originally, but it probably stemmed from me thinking about their dynamic in canon. For Mark and Petro to continue having any kind of relationship in the future (despite how one-sided it seems to be), one of them would need to drastically change.
ie: Petro having a redemption arc and changing his evil ways, or alternatively, Mark having a villain arc and changing his good ways.
It’s just, the idea of Mark being so devoted to having Petro as his friend (or dare I say, boyfriend) that he slowly loses his morals and becomes just as bad as Petro purely to stay on his good side… it would end horribly. And I love it.
(feel free to add onto this idea if you wish to!)

In honor of Pesach, I thought I'd ask Tumblr's Frog Guy: which frogs were possible contenders for the Frog Plague?
Ptychadena nilotica or Pelophylax saharicus; see this previous ask on precisely this topic :)

Y'know, I probably should tag this for zombies but it's like nearly 11pm and I need sleep desperately so here is some more G5 Horrors
Metamorphis plague was born from a changeling who's body had undergone so many changes that it had forgotten who he was, and thus melted into this as a result. It infected many ponies during Twilights reign, causing an outbreak that shook Manehattan to it's core, but was successfully contained deep within the forests surrounding where Bridlewood would be founded.
Nowadays it rests, feeding off of whatever woodland creatures are just a little too close to it, but it knows it isn't enough and eventually it will want more...
------
So this actually falls in ties with Makuu (the giant serpent that I THINK I shared here???) Because of reasons. See I refuse to believe Equestria fell apart JUST because if Opaline.
Oh no Imma make it way worse...once I get all the components in of course lol

yeah the whole "of all the men to cheat, you picked john kramer? i call that epic bad luck" thing is goofy af, but it's also hoffman speaking from experience since he tried to cheat john and is now stuck in this limbo of being blackmailed and kept around because he's useful but not enough to become the true successor and eventually, he'll share henry's fate of winding up left for dead in the murder bathroom, epic bad luck indeed
