🌆 Chapter 5 : The Neighborhood Download 🏘️

It's a big post, please read carefully ...

🥂 It's FINALLY here, the long-awaited neighborhood download post ! You'll finally be able to explore this new map yourself, add your Sims, and play fantastic brand new...old stories. However, depending on the neighborhood you want to download, you'll need to make sure you've already downloaded and installed the necessary custom content from the lots you need ! To speed things up, the "chapter" posts offer direct access to the entire download folder for the area in question (e.g. "Chapter 1" proposes the lots from Neighborhood 1 etc.)

🌃 All the neighborhood have been cleaned with Hood Checker and completely empty of all their sims (in folder, and in the neighborhood file with SimPE). The Neighborhoods with lots have 🇫🇷 FRENCH and 🇬🇧 ENGLISH texts for every lot titles and descriptions from the original SIMS 1 descriptions.

The Empty one is... empty of lots, It's just my remade version off Kalisa's map. I had to change it to create MagicTown, changed the roads with SimPE and decorated the hood. The second option, is an edited neighborhood with only the MagicTown addition, all the OldTown and Downtown lots are Kalisa's CC free ones. It allows you to have less CC to install because you will need only the MagicTown related ones. That's why I had a flag system on my master meshes post . And finally, the entirely remade neighborhood has all my made and remade lot and need ALL the CC from the lots and the master-meshes post.

LBB and TLBB Before the Snowstorm

It was about time I made some Outerwear for the LBB and TLBB shapes! So I converted @yandereplumsim's Before the Snowstorm AM mesh and @deedee-sims' TM mesh for their respective body shapes, and now your sims have something to wear as autumn turns to winter. I used the six original textures, and you have the option of downloading standalone or repo'd files (please see below for pertinent download details).

You do not need to download everything. Choose whatever version (standalone vs. repo'd) suits your style and downloads folder.

Download Standalone: LBB | TLBB -> Download these if you don't want anything repo'd to anything. Download REPO to YanderePlumsims's AM Files: LBB | TLBB -> Download these if you want these repo'd to the original AM recolors here (useful if you have the originals already).

Education Overhaul by A Deep Indigo

Overview

Some of you might already know how much I love a good ol' education system. & let's be real... EA did a sucky job at the ones that came with HSY and DU. So A Deep Indigo came through with this overhaul!

Am I disappointed in this? NO! Do I recommend it? Absolutely. It gives so much more gameplay and I'm a sucker for a good gameplay mod, hence why I play with so many mods!

So basically this mod revamps the education system and gives your teen sims a more 'School Experience' like the things that we all went through in school.

For example:

Detention - Sleeping in class, Goofing around, Disrupting the class or even getting caught doing homework during class can get you a detention!

Field Trips - Aquarium, Art Museum, Planetarium, Professional theatre production, Sim river conservatory, Zoo. As we all did in school!

In- School Events - Spelling bee's (grade school only), Student body elections (teens only), Science fair, Art showcase.

🎒BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN THE BEST PART! 🎒

Just like in real life we all looked forward to snow days! Because we all got to stay home and didn't have to pretend to be sick... So we could act normal and play on games. Well, this mod also gives our sims that experience!

Snow Days - Child/Teen sims don't have to attend school when it's heavily snowing!

Child/Teen sims can also experience the joy of Summer Holiday & the Winter Holidays! I don't know about you guys but this actually makes me so happy! I hate the fact the Sims only get off Christmas, Harvestfest & New Years. Like WHAT ONE DAY? C'MON!

But this mod gives us the correct amount of school holidays so our kids can be kids! Holidays include:

Summer Holiday - Depending on how long your calendar is and your seasons (Environment Settings) kids will have the entire summer off!

Winter Holiday - Again depending on your settings your sims will go for winter break mid-late winter and return to school first week of Spring!

I believe there is a Fall/Autumn break from school too!

Dropping Out

Now school isn't for everyone. But you know if you drop out of school employment can be very difficult... But if Sims are persistent they can actually drop out. Now you're probably think "Okay? that's already in the game?" yeh, that's right. But that's not a feature of this mod. The fact that if your child/teen sim decide to leave school and then age up to YA and get a job... They might not be a promoted... BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ANY EDUCATION!

Fewer Visitors on Community Lots

I've thought this little BCON tuning is too low effort to share but recently @grilledcheese-aspiration was looking for something like this and then reported that using this mod made a larger community lot of theirs more stable to play, so. Maybe it would be useful for others, too?

If this aspect is unmodded, when you visit a community lot the game summons 3–8 non-playable sims to populate the lot with, the maximum number depending on the time of the day.

With this tuning mod, there will be only 1–3 sims instead. The cap doesn't affect OFB businesses or how many playable sims you can bring to community lots.

Download (SFS) (alternate)

Conflicts with other mods that edit the BCON Avg. Lot Populations (of Townies). If you want to tune the cap it's easy, just open the mod with SimPe and adjust the numbers.

I recommend combining this tuning with this mod by @belladovah that makes the game only populate community lots after your playable sims have arrived.

What is my Uberhood Project?

I am planning on making an uberhood project that connects (and corrects*) all of the lore of the sims 1, 2, 3, and 4 into one downloadable neighborhood save (for the sims 2!!)

What does that actually mean?

I want all of the families to have accurate and realistic (within reason), memories, friends, enemies, family heirlooms, and town relics.

In order to do this, I am going to be completely recreating all the families and their family trees and begin by making their first ancestors in sims 2 bodyshop with canonically accurate genetics * and then personally "playing" through generations, making sure the right families are introduced at the right generation and all the sims are born in game with genetically correct appearances.

Why bother?

My original desire was just to begin playing a new rotational generational playthrough, but starting a decade "early" version and noticing that the currently available early megahoods I could find would have families who had no or missing ancestors, childhood memories or photos in the family album. This is completely fair to the creators of any of those megahoods, it's a lot, but the more I originally tried to just change, the more I wanted to change and ultimately decided it would be easier to just make my own.

When you play the Goth family, it would be Mortimer, Cassandra, etc but they would have full family trees, they would have proper graves in their back yard, photos in their albums, paintings on the wall that Victor Goth painted while he was alive and deco created by Lady RavenDancer Goth (these are random examples)

What are canonically accurate genetics?

Some ancestors that the premades from the actual sims 2 come with canon genetics as cited on websites like simswiki. HOWEVER, that is only for ancestors of premades that are in Sims 2, specifically as well as there being lore and timeline discrepancies between the games.

Certain families, specifically from Sims 1, are only 1 or 2 generations and, therefore, may be added or expanded on, and where ancestors may not have exact descriptions of sims 2 face templates, I intend to look at all the other family members in the sims 2 or what the models look like in the other games and base appearances accordingly.

For Example, in the Sims 1, Victor Goth is not mentioned. In the sims 2, he is a deceased ancestor of the Goth family. In the sims 3, he is still just a deceased ancestor of the playable Goth family BUT, his brother, Samuel Goth, is a playable ghost. This creates a plot hole, if Victor has a brother, he needs parents to properly connect them on the family tree, but no parents are directly connected in the lore, so what do we do?

This is an example of one of my "lore edits," Victor and Samuel Goth need parents, and although there is no canon answer, we can deduct a lore friendly one.

In Sims 3 pets for console, there is a reference to a ghost named Timaeus, who is the oldest known member of the Goth family. He is the captain of the "The Hawthorn" and one of the founders of Sugar Maple Coast, previously known as Gilman Hill. He was said to have married Angela Gilman. This would, however, not explain all of the Goth ancestry, so it can not be the full answer.

Lady RavenDancer Goth is also their ancestor and should also be represented, so again, what do we do?

Here is what I currently came up with. I didn't like how "Consort Capp" didn't have an "birth name" for before he was a consort of Consetta Capp, and in looking into the Capp family, noticed a lot of names referring to royalty and the last name Thebe, but none of them have been reused for connecting them to Princess Cornelia Thebe either. SO, I renamed "Consort" as "Clemente Goth," Gunther Goth's brother, who takes his wife's name, Capp, still. Going back to ancestry, I made Timaeus and Angela Goth have a baby boy named Alexander Goth, who ends up marrying Lady RavenDancer of Thebes, the younger sister of Princess Cordelia. I created parents from Raven and Cordelia named King Kassandros of Thebes and Queen Nymphadora of Verona (these will have been the rulers of the kingdom that Princess Cordelia was originally from when they were fleeing the Great Sloth invasion)

Since Princess Cordelia dated multiple pirates, I was also planning on having her marry Admiral Landgraab and become their ancestor.

What if I don't like these changes?

I do have to connect and change certain things because, due to different game mechanics, the sims timeline does not always all line up on it's own and a real "perfect" lore accurate hood with every family would be too inconsistent (which Landgraab family would you use? etc etc)

HOWEVER, I am going to be doing all of my research and posting everything on here as I go, so if anyone has any feedback before I finish this, I will always be open to discuss and create the best version for the greater community
