Ah, any ways, I see Samba horsing about and usually that means she’s ready for one of my famous horse jokes. 

"Why did the horse apply to art school?" I ask and as usual Samba eagerly waits. "She wanted to be a mare-tist!"

Samba just stares at me again but I’ll admit this one just simply sucks.

Uma breve explicação/origem:

SAMBA - O samba surgiu no Brasil a partir da mistura de ritmos africanos com influências europeias. A origem do samba está ligada aos batuques e rodas de samba praticados por afro-brasileiros, e à migração de muitos negros da Bahia para o Rio de Janeiro no final do século 19.

TANGO - originou-se no final do século XIX nas margens do Rio da Prata, em Buenos Aires, na Argentina, e em Montevidéu, no Uruguai. Não se sabe ao certo, mas especula-se que o estilo musical seja decorrente da habanera e da milonga, que são vertentes da música cubana

FLAMENCO - ou "cante jondo" é uma fusão de dança, voz, expressão e sentimento que se popularizou na Andaluzia no século XVIII e se espalhou por outras regiões espanholas, como a Estremadura e Múrcia. Em 2010 a Unesco declarou o flamenco Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial da Humanidade.

SALSA - A salsa surgiu nos anos 60, em Cuba. Ela foi caracterizada pela mistura de músicas caribenhas e teve influências do mambo, cha-cha-cha, rumba cubana, reggae e, até mesmo, do samba brasileiro. A palavra Salsa é de origem espanhola e significa “tempero” ou “mistura”, que define muito o que esse ritmo significa.

VALSA - A Valsa é um tipo de dança clássica, embora sua origem tenha sido campestre, ela surgiu na Áustria e na Alemanha, no inicio do século XIX inspirada em danças como o minueto (dança na qual os pares dançavam Page 14 separados) e o Laendler (dança campestre, na Alemanha).

RUMBA - Teve origem com a chegada de tribos africanas trazidas a Cuba pelos espanhóis, mais precisamente da região de língua quimbunda, (Angola) e da Guiné. As danças dessas regiões eram inspiradas nos movimentos de animais (galo), orixás (Xangô) e em situações do cotidiano.

HIP-HOP - O hip-hop emergiu em meados da década de 1970 nos subúrbios negros e latinos de Nova Iorque. Estes subúrbios, verdadeiros guetos, enfrentavam diversos problemas de ordem social como pobreza, violência, racismo, tráfico de drogas, carência de infraestrutura e de educação, entre outros.

at last heres a pic of the haul from Sundays game market visit!! it was a lot of fun if very overcrowded lol.

wouldve probably bought more of the expensive stuff if i had more money atm but im very happy with the deals i got. stuff like Samba de Amigo, SEGA Superstars Tennis, Guitar Hero and M&S Olympics were all VERY cheap (like $5 or less). also not pictured is dead rising chop til you drop on wii which was also very cheap. I'm super super excited to finally own OutRun 2 on Xbox as well, its one of the few games I actually got to play for the first time in an arcade and I've dreamt of having an about-as-pretty version of it at home ever since. Coast2Coast wasnt doing it for me!!!

Mario&Sonic at the Olympic Games in particular was extremely funny bc it has signs of Four different pricetags. the red one by Mario started at $45, and then it went to $10 before the $4 i bought it for. (idk where the 4th pricetag fits into this)

I've been looking for this game for a whiiile and I'm so glad I found it both in very good condition and for just a little over $20!!!! This is a beautiful pixelart JRPG by the devs who codeveloped Mother 3 along with artists from the Mana series on SNES/PS1. VERY excited to play this one hehe >:3

oh also the GBA game is a bootleg replica of Sims 2 Bustin Out. it was 3 dolar.

Episode 2 ~ The Approach

While it would be nice to just ride Samba for the rest of the day we really do have to start moving on to more complex and complicated maneuvers for future competitions like hurdles. She clears them pretty easily, I should add, so we are off to a good start.

You ever have a moment where you say something and you are sure your animal amiga understands everything you’ve said? I could swear she was looking at me as if I’m crazy because OF COURSE the great Samba could clear a hurdle that didn't even reach to her knees! Luara Bombom assume posto de Rainha da escola na Mocidade Unida do Santa Marta

A Mocidade Unida do Santa Marta anunciou mais uma grande novidade para o seu carnaval de 2024. Luara Bombom será coroada como nova Rainha da escola. A primeira princesa do carnaval carioca em 2022 é cria da comunidade, iniciou no carnaval na agremiação e retorna em um posto tão significativo e em um ano especial.

Luara começou seus passos no carnaval pelo Santa Marta, aos 4 anos de idade. Iniciou na ala das crianças, cresceu na escola, disputou para ser princesa e acabou virando musa aos seus 11 anos. Fazia suas roupas de desfile junto com a Antônia, que na época era responsável pela costura. Estudou durante muito tempo algumas danças como ballet no projeto da Ana Botafogo na própria comunidade do Santa Marta.

- Desfilar no Santa Marta não é só um desfile, mas é como estar em casa, é olhar ao meu redor e me reconhecer no meu verdadeiro lugar, na minha comunidade! E saber que estou desfilando, mas me parece um dia comum de subida até a minha casa. É um convívio diário. Me sinto realizada com o convite de poder voltar e ser Rainha da escola, nesse ano tão especial que fala do nosso Sextou é só sucesso que remete a um ser humano que fez tanto pela Mocidade Unida do Santa Marta e ajuda tanto a nossa comunidade, sempre com sorriso no rosto e generosidade! O presente foi meu e eu nem pensei duas vezes! – Revela Luara.

Como dançarina, já trabalhou em clipes de Anitta, Nego do Borel, Jojo Todynho, Ludmilla entre outros. Além de ter feito parte do balé de artistas como Bebe Rexha, Titica, Baianasystem e Iza nesse ano de 2022 no Rock In Rio. No ballet do Dudu nobre e Belo. Já foi passista da São Clemente durante 5 anos, e participou em 2014 do Concurso do Caldeirão do Huck. Fez parte da comissão de frente da Portela em 2019, sendo estandarte de ouro. Também é Rainha do Bloco Spanta Neném há 9 anos, é passista do Salgueiro e Rainha do carnaval da Suécia.

- Meu amor pela dança, pela arte, pelo carnaval fez com que isso virasse a minha profissão. O samba para mim não é só paixão, é algo além, é amor, é meu sustento. Eu vivo para o samba e do samba. E o samba merece sim, ser respeitado e estudado como qualquer outra dança. - Finalizou a Rainha.
