➢ Welcome back everyone! So excited to share some more tWoA characters with you. Sorry if the about sections are so long, I just adore these characters! That is to say... this will be long. Get a snack and something to drink, get comfortable, and enjoy!

《 Carroline Deepend - joined in 1949 - demigod 》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Carrie (everyone) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets, unless you count her brother (she's kidding-) ➸ she/her // aromantic asexual ➸ 6'3" ➸ mother from unknown planet, father unknown. presumably from Earth. ♡ older sister to Benji Deepend, daughter of an unnamed goddess that is currently in my notes as "mother nature the jerk". 《about》 Carroline (ik it's spelled wrong let's pretend it's on purpose) grew up in a forest on Earth, at first with her brother and then alone with their mother after he escaped. Their mother, a goddess, tortured Carroline endlessly, eventually leaving her blind. When Carroline was eight, Genex and Zaiyn saved her and defeated her mother, then - with the help of Aiden Cronsby - found her brother and brought the two of them back to the Warriors, where they were eventually adopted by the housekeeper (in that she keeps the house and its residents together, lmao) Ms. Daphne, better known by everyone as Ms. Deepend. Later, when they were old enough, the two joined the Warriors and began training. (They joined at ages 8 - Carroline - and 6 - Benji - for context.) Carroline started out weary of her brother after he left her alone to deal with their mother, but the two eventually grew close and Benji now serves as a sort of guide for his sister.

《 Benjamin Deepend - joined in 1949 - demigod 》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Benji (everyone) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ ➸ he/him // queer ➸ 5'6" ➸ mother unknown, father presumably from Earth ♡ younger brother to Carroline Deepend, son of Mother Nature the Jerk™️ 《about》 Being an extremely intelligent child, Benji escaped his mother before much real damage could be done to him. He always regretted not taking his sister then, but of course, he was only four or five when he left. He wouldn't've been able to escape like that without getting both of them killed. He now serves as a guide to his sister, who exclusively resides at Pantheos's estate. Over time, the siblings and their adopted mother have began to grow apart, but the three are still close.

《 Ms. Daphne - joined late 1948/early 1949 - unknown 》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Ms. Deepend (everyone/the Warriors) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ Babysitting Pantheos Inc.™️ ➸ she/her // bisexual ➸ 5'6" ➸ nobody knows ♡ adoptive mother of Benjamin and Carroline Deepend 《about》 Ms. Deepend arrived to help Pantheos with keeping the house in order and found herself babysitting the residents instead, which she is luckily quite good at. When Carroline and Benji were brought to the home at ages eight and six respectively, she offered to (and did) adopt them. She later became more of a nurse figure job-wise in the house, notably saving Aiden multiple times and Michael once throughout the course of the Beginning of the End. When in the medical wing of the house, Nora is always seen at her side. Multiple people, most memorably Aiden, have (rather truthfully, though Ms. Deepend would never admit it) pointed out that Nora is her favorite Warrior, and that's why Ms. Deepend is teaching her everything she knows medical-wise.

I love these guys, and I hope you do as well. The dynamic between Ms. Deepend and Nora is one of my favorites, and Carroline is honestly the witty aroace we all need in our lives. *These two weren't originally going to be a couple, but when I first wrote a book with these two as some of the main characters they sounded SO FREAKING QUEERCODED that I decided to make it semi-canon :)

**I haven't actually decided if these two are going to be a couple or not, but they are super coupley. They were purposefully written in their story to act like a couple but never actually kiss/date/do other coupley things though they do live together, only have one bed, constantly slow dance together in full view of their neighbors- Oh, was I not supposed to share that bit? Anyway, the nature of these twos' relationship would make it my first story without a couple, queer or not (if you don't count Deneeos and Viktor being featured in chapter 1), though I think they would probably get together a year or two after the end of Delius and the Wonderbeasts so I included them even though I don't have any further plans on how to work their relationship

Hi ! I'm Bat/Batvy/Brandon. Welcome to my blog :) I use he/it pronouns, as well as the neos ae/aer & xe/xem. I'm a minor & I'm aroace.

I don't really have a plan for this blog, but it will probably most consist of writing & reading related things and the occasional random shitpost bc well... this is the internet, after all.

My favorite book series is the Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordian and my favorite standalones include This Was Our Pact, The War That Saved My Life, Project Nought, and Red, White & Royal Blue. I write all sorts of genres, and I have high/low fantasy, sci-fi, realistic fiction, dystopian, and thriller wips. These are listed below:

Europe - The Final Countdown (Official Video)

and Kirk is out to see several carrier groups are headed north and it was a fantastic hiding episode, and we sent the Klendathu after them, they passed right by nyc nd dc which are both under attack, virginia a short distance away, uprotetected by the entire remainder of the Atlantic Fleet,slowly it creeps up on Greenland to try and enact  a flood, several fast boats dpart, to take it over like last time messed it up.

and missed.  they blow their horns away off, get off they wont they ar e fired upn we hear stark say wrong decision, and he fires energy weapons at their targttingsyste theysmartened up, hit back and the boats crumple thy come flying out and soar to the ships anti missile systems are activated, one down, two then ten.

and all hope is lost we wil drown...they hearhim nah

and fire from above a jet, it is usa s it isunloading on them, a few of them fire.  nd thjets go up....

dr landrigan and tm cruise and others they figt for freedom, counter measures ae up nd anti issile hits one, two three the others are toofar the fighters catch up, hit thm they aregone.   jets and pilots.  to the bottom.   we go fetch them the ships continue without pause.

we see a sillouette in the distance, it is Rodan, no, it is Otachi, no it is that huge flying wing that someone rebuilt from Germany used the frmeand other working prts,the fighters see it fire on itcounter measures galore  too many for the size assault. 

and the jets go down from the air craft carriers, sunk.  and the ships make evasive manevers, cant but do.  and zig zag.  battle formation is called, and sial straight, they launch more jets, all they say I is  a sight they lanch simulaneosly they r up  fire miss  som e ihit w canon. 

the plane lists, hugepuffs of smoke from it.  they gout.  fires back thejets crash

and the jet pulls up and heads north, the remaining fighters return.   rememver the plan they say, so they hault.   and fix their stuff.  hearing it we go after them they threaten inland with missils.  we hit thy fall ou of the sky It is Rodan!!!

and it goes down, the entire airship.   and it heads towards the aircraft carriers, and it sees they see him.  he haults flips a few tail feathers and continues....he s outraged at their presence, other bird parents and in hisdomanin a floating nest  this man, he goeas after then I hear Rodan oh your in the wrog place....no

he comes to a rest atop the conning tower of one os the aircraft carriers, to see the other one or more. none.  then assaults the jets.  whoah buddy you got the wrong idea these are jets he can just hear it.....wrong these are not birds ok costly...they don't get heard.  all re gone and they say ok by hand and move out

ride the wave I guess.  som ships can roll....tonsof opportunities.  sothey fall out and try to find cover.   and the bird slams the deck with one foot to see if ther are eggs or birds inside...it opens with ease, she is easily 8 stories tall. he sees her and acts on te other carriers to stop them from flying, fast too...and really fast. I mean in seconds they are all crushed an off deck and they tear into it. t he last carrier sails off, the discard the planes below and bombs go down into the wate. we retrive.  and the last ship is pursued...they all fall into the water to flee and die almost instantly, snapping jaws of waiting sharks.  so much for thiersurvival instcts huh caa

➢ Welcome back to more Warrior introductions! I'm not sure how long the rest of these will be, but in this post I'll be introducing three Warriors. The ogs are back together! This story produces a large amount of nostalgia, I am now realizing. Onto the introductions!

(also, the Jason being introduced here is not the same one as the Jason that Zaiyn is dating. i know it's confusing lol)

《 Jason Cunningham - joined in 1948 - demigod》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ no nicknames :) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ ➸ he/him // heterosexual? (aka, his sexuality is never really addressed but people keep shipping him with Zaiyn) ➸ 6'2" ➸ undecided :) he lived on Earth before going to Aregon though ♡ just a cool dude. 《about》 Jason arrived in the Warriors in 1948 along with another member, Aiden Cronsby. They arrived a few months after Zaiyn did, meaning that the dynamics between Nora, Genex, and Zaiyn were already pretty well established - Nora and Genex hated each other, Nora and Zaiyn didn't really talk, and Zaiyn and Genex were definitely crushing on one another. Hard. Jason quickly befriended Zaiyn and became quite friendly with Genex. Like Zaiyn, he didn't really interact with Nora, who trained separately at a gym for mages. Like everyone, he was unable to get Aiden out of his room. Jason grew up on Earth, not knowing anything of magic. Soon after arriving on Aregon, though, he is introduced to all the different planets and possibilities in the universe. After an undecided amount of time - at most a year or two - Jason chooses to leave the Warriors and set off on his own to explore the new opportunities he now has. As I said above, just a cool dude.

《 Aiden Cronsby - joined in 1948 - demigod 》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Ai (Jacob, Nora, and some of the other Warriors), Aid (Michael) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ co-owner of Edward, a guardian spirit (who will get his own intro because he is good boi) ➸ he/they // gay (probably) ➸ 5'6" ➸ mother from an undecided planet, father from Earth ♡ dating Michael Waxler, ex of Jacob Terrella. Son of Hitaii (goddess of life and death) 《about》 Aiden grew up on Earth with his mother, father, and a close group of family friends, the Waxlers. In this group was Michael Waxler, Aiden's boyfriend (a fact kept secret thanks to the fact that they grew up on Earth in the 1940s). Aiden was furious when Pantheos showed up to take him to the Warriors, as Aiden had no knowledge of magic and no idea that he was a demigod. Not even his father had known that Hitaii, Aiden's mother, was a goddess. Aiden refused to interact when he arrived at Pantheos's estate, locking himself in his room. After it was established how dangerous he is, he wasn't forced to come to training sessions, either. Eventually, he took a liking to Jacob Terrella, and became crawling out of his shell - never quite getting over the fact that he and Michael never got to say goodbye. Don't worry, though. They get their happy ending. Decades after being torn apart, Aiden spots Michael and realizes that he is still alive - and, apparently, also immortal. Upon meeting up later, Aiden realizes that Michael is a mage, and the two join forces to help take down the antagonist in the end of the series, known as the Beginning of the End. Along the way, they may or may not get back together. And I adore them.

《 Jacob Terrella - joined in 1948 - mage 》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ no nicknames :) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ ➸ he/him // bisexual ➸ 5'5" ➸ parents from Tlethlula. ♡ dating Nora Orion (?), ex of Aiden Cronsby and Zaiyn Rchardo. 《about》 Jacob grew up on the war-plagued planet of Tlethula, alongside his childhood best friend & later boyfriend Zaiyn Rchardo. The two kept their relationship secret, which later turned out to be the right thing to do because Jacob's parents suck :(. When a new, much worse war began, Zaiyn suddenly disappeared, and his mother - the goddess Adanrea - would only say that he was safe. One day, soon after discovering he had powers, Jacob met the Aregonian god Pantheos, who offered to take Jacob off the war-ridden planet in exchange for Jacob training and becoming one of the Warriors. He agreed. On Aregon, Jacob realized that that's where Zaiyn had disappeared to, having earlier gotten the same offer. However, Jacob was disappointed to realize that Zaiyn no longer had much of an interest with him. He was much too busy chasing a romance with Pantheos's son, Gen. Jacob pursued a romance with Aiden Cronsby over the next several decades, only to have Aiden suddenly break it off soon after they finally got together. Later, Jacob learned this was because Aiden was going to search for his soon-to-be no longer ex-boyfriend, Michael. Soon after, though, Jacob found his happy ending in fellow Warrior and queen of failed relationships Nora Orion.

Introducing the Warriors!

➢ In a recent post made to my Instagram, I talked some about my story/universe, the Warriors of Aregon. In this post, I will begin introducing the Warriors! Since there's so many of them I'm going to split the introductions into a few different posts. Enjoy!

《 Genex Phoenix - joined in 1947 - demigod》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Gen (by everyone) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ Fluffy, saber-tooth tiger (from Bxtnxr's planet.) ➸ he/they // panromantic asexual grayromantic non-binary/demiboy ➸ 5'4" ➸ Mother from Bxtnxr's planet, father from Aregon ♡ ex of Zaiyn Rchardo, Cavana Nobella, and Ethan Reemes. Adopted brother of Nora Orion; child of Pantheos (Aregonian god of the Underworld). 《about》 Genex, or Gen, was one of the first members of the Warriors of Aregon. They're always chasing romance, but can never seem to keep it. After a rocky start (read a rocky five to seven decades), they've repaired their relationship with older sister Nora Orion. Gen's nearly always been close with his dad, and is generally a laid back, chill person. Can be found spending most of his post-war time in the pool at Pantheos's estate, usually with Zaiyn, his longtime best friend.

《 Zaiyn Rchardo - joined in 1948 - demigod》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Zay (by everyone, especially Nora and Genex) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ ➸ 🏳️‍⚧️ he/him // gay ➸ 6'3" ➸ Both parents from Tlethlula ♡ dating Jason Diano, ex of Genex Phoenix and Jacob. Son of Adanrea (Tlethlulan godess of death). 《about》 Zaiyn's a sweet guy who's always up to help out those around him. He's always been a fan of Earth, and ended up convincing Pantheos to let him attend school there. He was allowed to go alone, befriending classmates Jessie and Jacob, until he was almost killed by an escaped God-Monster and Genex was sent to attend the next year with him. Zaiyn and Jacob ended up dating for just longer than four decades, living in a house on Earth, before Zaiyn left him to go help with the wars happening back home. This left Jacob behind, alone. Don't get sad yet, though. After the Wars of Aregon, Zaiyn ended up falling in love with Pantheos's new assistant, Simeon, but the feelings weren't reciprocated. After a while of moping around and figuring he was going to be alone forever, Zaiyn realized that the only person who could truly make him happy (in a romantic relationship) was Jason, and he went back to Earth and they get their happily ever after <3.

《 Nora Orion - joined in 1947 - tigress mage》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Nor (Genex and Zaiyn, mostly.) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ ➸ she/her // heterosexual ➸ 5'8" ➸ No bio parents :D (she was created by the god Osires). ♡ might end up with Jacob Terrella, adopted sister of Genex Phoenix & adopted daughter of Pantheos 《about》 Nora started off as a creation of Osires, a vessel meant to contain Genex's consciousness until Osires and Zios were ready to begin training him. Because of this, she grew up with strong survival skills and a love for science, books, and finding answers. When Genex was ready to begin training, Osires tried (and unknowingly failed) to destroy her, simply reducing her to a voice in Genex's head. When Genex went to Pantheos's estate, Pantheos agreed to return her to her original physical form. She's a tigress mage, meaning she has the ability to shift into a tigress and in her human form is just as lethal as one. She and Genex had a rocky relationship for their first few decades in the Warriors, thanks to Nora getting a bit overexcited at the prospect of contact with other people and not being the greatest sister. By the end of the series, though, they've mostly patched things up. She now serves as the universe's oracle after Rose Dolby Heathers, the first prophet, passed away, and she is training as a nurse alongside her home's resident nurse/housekeeper, Ms. Deepend, of whom Nora's a favorite. Even though she knows that Osires was intending to destroy her, she picked her last named based on his.

《 Pantheos - joined & started in 1947 - god》 ᴀᴋᴀ ➫ Theo (by the Warriors) ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ ᴏғ ➫ no pets :/ unless you count his daughter (for legal reasons, this is a joke) ➸ he/him // bisexual ➸ 6'2" ➸ parentless :D ♡ dating Simeon Rush (which his son may or may not know about), ex of Elaine Lee Frontéir (Genex's mother), Bxtnxr, and various other people. Father of Genex Phoenix and adopted father of Nora Orion. Also currently dating Olivia (for legal reasons, and because Olivia is a car, this is a joke). 《about》 Like any god, Pantheos can be a bit full of himself. Mostly, though, he's a caring person and good father. He's also actually rather shy and quiet overall (very quiet if Nora begins passing around old photos from when he and Bxtnxr were dating), and mostly just wants his friends and family to be well taken care of. And yes, it was rather awkward overhearing Simeon rejecting Zaiyn because it would "never work", aka because Simeon was dating Zaiyn's best friend's dad. Whoops.

Revamping one of my characters (because, honestly, he sucks)

Introduction

Hey everyone! Recently I’ve been focusing a lot on a part of one of my stories and I just couldn’t help but notice that one of the main characters—as an adult, at least—is absolutely awful. Awfully written, unrealistically developed, etc. Today, I thought it might be fun to walk you all through how I revamp him! Time to rework Kaydence Sharp. Bare with me, this is a long post! Enjoy! Tw for mentions of abuse and violence

Step one: inspecting his younger self

In the story Kaydence is a main character in, the entire beginning/what I guess would be the first book or so is told when he and the other characters are (for the most part) teenagers. Then, the rest of it—which focuses on him and another character, his boyfriend James, is all told when they’re adults, navigating new lives as the kings of the moon they just freed. As a control/example of what I should be doing, I’m using James, whose arc followed similarly to how Kaydence’s should have gone. As a teenager/child, James was quiet, reserved, and pretty much just absorbed into himself. Thanks to his father, he grew up thinking everything that went wrong was always his fault, and therefore put much more pressure on himself than is healthy. As an adult, James is eternally tired and quite introverted. He constantly puts pressure on himself to be great, which often pushes him into even more of a leadership role. Then we have Kaydence, which… yeesh. I really thought this was realistic? As a teenager/child, Kaydence is mischievous and rebellious, though often outspoken. Thanks to his spot on the social ladder and his only friend not being the best person, Kaydence faced an inordinate amount of abuse—both verbal and physical. Then, he grows up to become a complete ray of sunshine whose only problem involves not getting along with his old friend, Amrika, but nothing to do with the fact that she emotionally abused him for their entire friendship. I also feel the need to add that adult Kaydence has way more internal issues that need to be addressed than his teenage self, and with justifications for none of them. Adult Kaydence has a reputation for running off and not telling anyone where he’s going. At this point, they just see it as an annoying minor inconvenience when like… that’s a serious problem? Speaking of serious problems, where did all his trauma go? And his childhood personality. Unlike James, Kaydence didn’t just grow up—his character completely changed. Not only is this never realistic, but in his case, it especially isn’t. Childhood trauma stays with people into adulthood, as well as continuing to affect them into adulthood. Kaydence’s character completely changes from the ages of about 17/18-22. This is especially odd considering the volume of abuse he faced as a child and teenager—especially since one of the abusers is still partially in his life. He simply couldn’t change as much as he did, and in the ways that he did, with how much his past is still affecting his life. Yes, he should mature, but he should still represent his childhood self: mischievous, rebellious, outspoken, and always looking for freedom. 

Step two: why this is better

Another thing to consider: why his new adult self—the one better representing him as a teenager—is better. First of all, he’s simply more believable. I don’t know about you, but I find it pretty hard to believe that someone—especially someone with severe childhood trauma—would have a complete personality change in just a few years. And, when it really comes down to it, James 100% fits the “ray of sunshine” role better than Kaydence does. Secondly, throughout what I’ve written (poor adult form included), Kaydence’s most consistent trait even in adulthood is being mischievous, most commonly when he’s joking around with James. At one point, they’re visiting Paris. Kaydence has never been to Earth before, and while at first his reactions to everything are genuine—he grew up mostly trapped in government buildings and barracks, after all—he eventually is just keeping up the act to annoy James. This is nothing like that ray of sunshine version of himself, but it’s something that I could totally imagine his teenage (and realistic adult) self doing! That was pretty exciting to find, as it gave me a start. There are also some other instances sprinkled throughout showcasing his mischievous trait, which gave me a good base on where to start for him. 

Step three: redoing the character

Now that I’ve laid everything out, it’s time to give Kaydence’s new backstory. To compare, I’ll give you a short summary of Kaydence’s old arc: Kaydence Sharp, an extremely abused child and known rebel, goes on to become the ray of sunshine in the relationship between him and his boyfriend, James. Unlike James, Kaydence doesn’t really leave Ion (their home moon). Instead, he prefers going off to Ionian villages—without informing his guard, nor James, about where he’s going. At this point, they all expect it. It’s just a minor annoyance.

And his new one! Kaydence Sharp grew up knowing that he didn’t like the way his world worked, which is how he became one of Ion’s well-known rebels. However, since he wasn’t really perceived as a threat, he was mostly just subjected to verbal and physical abuse from Ion’s government and guards, as well as his only friend, Amrika Jones. Now, as an adult, Kaydence hasn’t changed much. He’s still mischievous and as rebellious as he wants (which isn’t often, since he’s part of the government now, but it’s never never), even if the halls of the Ionian government building bring back some painful memories. He tries with his guard, and he tries with James, but sometimes, he still enjoys going on adventures by himself.

Closing

This was surprisingly fun! It was also really entertaining & rewarding to watch Kaydence mold more into how he was meant to be. All in all, I’m super happy I did this. If any of you are facing similar challenges, I hope that this post may have helped some! Thanks for reading! <3, Bat

A Thousand Years

Timeline: just after the conclusion of book 1, The Beginning

"You're back." "I am." Zios's voice was just as hoarse as Osires's was: dry, crumbling, and weak, broken after being left unused. It had been four days since their fight, and therefore the worst four days of Osires's life. Four days without Zios. Who knew they could be so miserable? He barely felt any better. Still, seeing Zios put a small smile on the god's face. It almost hurt, to smile after going so long without doing so, but the pain felt… good. Somehow. Zios's expression was the same sad yet relieved one, the corners of his mouth upturned slightly at the sight of his friend. Some part of the happiness faded. His friend. "I don't know if Pantheos will do what the prophecy said," Zios began quietly, voice still on the mend. He kicked at a pebble on the surface of the carpet he was now zoning on. "Since it's been so long. But, if he does…" his eyes slowly flickered up to meet those of the other god's, something in them seeming almost… hopeful. Osires stood, his smile now long gone. If he does. How much time did they have left? "Zios…" he breathed, the weight of the situation finally seeming to settle. Alone, he was able to keep it out of his mind. But now… now it was impossible. "Osires," Zios whispered back, broken voice breaking further as he sped forward, crashing into the other god's arms. He started Osires's name again, only for the word to fade as Osires pulled away just enough to tilt his chin upwards. "Zios," he whispered again. His voice was croaky and weak, at points barely audible. But it was there. It was never gone completely. He watched the other god for what seemed like forever, tears brimming in his eyes, before he finished the sentence. "I can't think of anyone better to spend my last hours with than you." Zios stood, tangled in Osires's arms, letting tears flood his eyes and flood his face. Osires barely had more composure. "And I can't think of anyone better than you," he replied. How much time were they wasting? How much time did they have before the destruction plaguing the outside world reached their small haven, too? "Do you know how much I care about you?" Osires whispered, tears slipping silently down his cheeks. And before Zios could answer, Osires leaned down, pulling him up into a kiss. How had they taken so long?

A short story about the beginning of the romantic relationship between two of my characters, the gods Osires and Zios. Spoiler alert: Gen and Pantheos do not end up destroying the universe. Still, I think a bittersweet little story to show how it took at most millions of years for these two to get together is fitting. (Especially because it gets good for them in the end. Even with a few... *ahem* rough spots in between.) Hope you enjoyed!

Something that is actually... quite random

Today, I was doing some writing specifically for things about Deneeos, Viktor, Evie, and William when I was talking about the fear they strike in their enemies, like the Riders. Before we proceed, let me say this: the definition of insanity means doing the same thing over and over and thinking that the outcome will change. When they're adults, it's shown that the Riders are constantly trying to defeat Viktor and Deneeos, steal the Orb Thingy™️, despite it never working. I accidentally wrote my story depicting their family slowly driving all their enemies insane. It's actually shown at the beginning of the beginning of the end (the section with Delius and the Wonderbeasts and my other story Oversight that is the end of the Warriors of Aregon story) that, while Delius agrees to go with Deneeos and Viktor, he's confused at first and unsure once he gets inside. Deneeos locks him in his room every night because he doesn't trust him, and--maybe--this is because he knows what he's done and is worried of more than Delius hurting William should he get out (though of course, he does, since Evie finds a key and unlocks the door for him). There are actually multiple reasons that this makes sense, though, and a lot of them have to do with Viktor. By many people--both people who know him but especially people who do--describe Viktor as terrifying or threatening, and not because of his appearance, but because they know that he will kill for those he loves, and if you're not on the list of people he loves, you could be next. In one part where Deneeos almost dies, his aunt Delaney says that she tried to stay away from Viktor but not be obvious about it because of this very fact. Viktor was so angry about Deneeos getting hurt that she knew he was ready--and willing--to kill anyone who did anything minorly wrong. So maybe it's understandable why all the people fighting them have lost the ability to see sense.
