How do you explain to those without MaDD that we don’t want to get rid of this disorder, even if it’s ruined our lives in more ways than one- we want to keep it because it’s also what’s kept us alive, and it’s part of us. Without it, there’s not much of us left because it’s created such an impact on our lives that it’s better to keep it now than get rid of it. It’s not curable, it’s not easy to cope with, and it’s not “fixable” but it can be managed. The difficult thing is we don’t want to manage it, that’s where the addiction comes in. We don’t want to manage it or get rid of it even if it harms us, because it’s been here for so long and the hole it’s made in our identity would create an even bigger one without it. So it’s very very hard to explain to others that we want to keep it even if it’s harmful, it allows us to escape and cope while keeping us sane and alive. A horrible, yet wanted disorder. Getting rid of it would mean getting rid of the people in your head, saying goodbye to them and never seeing nor speaking to them again. Our minds would go quiet, not a single voice nor place to escape into.
We need it just as much as it hurts us. -glo

Kinda tired of people mixing immersive daydreaming with maladaptive daydreaming, like they are aren’t the same thing man. It genuinely just spreads misinformation and annoys us with actual MaDD. “Immersive daydreaming is voluntary and does not affect your health or your life, while maladaptive dreaming is uncontrollable and inhibits your ability to complete normal tasks, just like any other illness or addiction.”
Immersive daydreaming is excessive immersive experiences in daydreaming, they are not the same as maladaptive daydreaming whatsoever and people should not be mixing them together like they are the same type of daydreaming and those with MaDD have ID/those with ID have MaDD because they really are different in multiple ways and it just annoys me :(( this goes for any type of daydreaming too, and neuronarrating/fantasy, etc. /nav /info /srs. -glo

Hello! Can I ask how many Paras you have?
Hey there, yes you most absolutely can ask! As of right now, I have 6 identifiable paras including Rose, her shapeshifted form Ash, Ashe, Cade, Shep, and Carolyn. However; these would be my mains, or parames. Most daydreamers will have quite a lot, even hundreds! Every single living being in your dreams is considered a para, if you’d like it to be. My family in my dreams is my para family, my loved ones are paras, my pets are paras, even the random side characters that don’t speak a word are paras!
Narrowing it down, I have 6 parames/main paras! I appreciate the ask a ton. If you have any more questions regarding MaDD or my scheme, ask away! :D
[ Edit: I missed one para- she’s absent so it’s not a huge deal. Her names Cindy, she’s a 16 year old and red n black emo/scheme style. Read about her more in my desc!]

I’ve got a new MaDD term I wanna spread!
Parastuckself, or parastuck!
It’s a very specific term, to be used by those with MaDD, meaning a para or paraself that’s age, identity, or any complex details of that para seem to be “stuck” or in a loop that cannot be changed.
For example, my paraself is stuck at the age 13 due to mental health reasons. So your paraself, or a para of yours, could be stuck in a specific situation or an age, identity, etc; due to reasons like su!c!de, chronosian identities, or anything else you feel may cause your para/paraself to be stuck! Just an idea of course, I don’t make flags but if any term coiners or flag makers would like to make or add on, feel free to and please tag me so I can see your lovely creations!

We want to know genuine opinions on the popular plush brand “Plushie Dreadfuls” and how you all feel about them? Specifically the disability themed ones. Judgmental free, I respect everyone on this! If you don’t agree with my opinion, no worries at all; just don’t make a mean comment about it and we’ll be all good ^^
My opinion: I have a split view on them, I kinda feel like (some) of them are infantilizing or romanticizing some of the disorders. Dont get me wrong, they can be cute and are good plushies for expressing and embracing your disabilities. And some can be really good for that, especially the symbols and how their colors, features, etc may embrace that disorder. However, some seem a bit- too much. The autism one is loved by many, but in my honest opinion; it seems quite infantilizing. And with these becoming so popular, it may give off the idea that all individuals with autism act like babies or are childish. So that parts a bit controversial. What stubs me is how they like to make some of the mental illnesses and disorders super sweet and romanticized, until you come across one that’s so scary and makes it seem like everyone with this specific disorder is bad or scary. Such as the APD, OCD, sleep paralysis, etc; they are terrifying, imo, while other disorders such as autism, anxiety, etc; are super cute and romanticized. It seems unfair-ish or belittling to other disorders, and may make the disorder seem like it isn’t all bad and we all know how romantizing disorders goes. I really like the idea of embracing your disorders through a plush that has symbolism and such meaning behind it; and I’m glad that people are able to buy these plushies and feel a bit more comfortable with having these disorders. And before you say some shit, I plan to buy a few of them because some I do really like. I just personally have a split view on them, I like the symbolism and embracing side; but I don’t like the romanticizing and infantilizing/belittling aspect. Once again I am planning to buy several of these that I agree with and feel comfortable with, but I do still hold a strong negative opinion on a majority of them.
I really do want to hear some opinions on these plushies, it’s not for anything particular but I’m curious to learn others views/thoughts on them and what you guys think :]

What age did you start daydreaming, and do you remember all or most of your daydreams? ☁️
Hey there, great questions! I appreciate the asks and keep em coming ♥️
🥀 Answers under the cut 🥀
- I started daydreaming at the age of 2-3 in my very first home! This is certain as well, so I am absolutely positive of the age I began ^^
- I do remember most of my daydreams, yes! I also remember a lot of my night dreams as well. People believe “daydreams” are dreams that only happen during the day. Daydreams are dreams that happen when you’re conscious, or semi conscious- so I can remember many of mine because most of the time I am conscious or at least autopilot when I’m dreaming. Other than that, I can remember most of my dreams even down to specifics! I may not remember the exact date I dreamed them on, or the time- but I will remember what happened in the dream and any other information. I find that many daydreamers, especially those with ID and MaDD will remember a lot of their dreams because it has such a big impact on our lives- how could we forget!
Anyways, there’s the answers to those questions! Thanks again for asking :D -glo

Muhahaha new term again you ask ⁉️
Para ping-pong!
Where two paras share the same qualities, triggers, and behaviors that may interfere with your daydreaming causing flashes or quick changes between the two and their paracosms, etc.
For example, if two of my paras were triggered by the same music and were both active at the same time- it creates a constant back and forth loop between the two, similar to ping pong.
I hope this makes sense, brains a bit frazzled LOL

What do your daydreams give you that reality fails to do??
How would you live your life if you didn't daydream??
Heyo, awesome asks! Once again our ask box is open so feel free to send in any questions or requests :)
🥀 Answers under the cut 🥀
- My daydreams give me a space to escape, and become someone that isn’t me for a bit. It really helps me decompress after a stressful moment, and it’s just a way of my mind protecting myself. I feel it’s quite helpful and useful to me, and in reality it’s much more difficult to just “escape” seeing as I am a minor in a family house. In my paracosms, my paras do not harm me in ways those in thisverse do. I am safe inside my head, I am free to be who I want to be and I will hide in my mind. Reality can not quite give me certain factors I feel are quite necessary and important for my life, therefore dreaming will give me all of those factors.
- I’m not sure exactly how I would live my life without it, but it’s become such a huge part of me and who I am that I feel there wouldn’t be much left of me without it. It’s part of me always, and has been since I was a toddler. It’s changed throughout my life, but it’s never left me and it gives me a sense of security knowing it will be there when I need it. Without daydreaming, without my paras and paracosms, I feel I wouldn’t be able to live- or live ideally at that. I thrive in my mind, even if it’s loud and overwhelming. What doesn’t go well in thisverse, will go well in my mind. All the people I wish I’ve met, all the people I wish I didn’t meet, all the times I missed out on, all the illness and struggling, it all goes how I want it to in my daydreams and I simply could not imagine a life without it.
Thanks for the asks, I enjoy answering them! Keep the goodies comin -glo

1) How did you discover you had madd?
2) favorite para?
3) describe your favorite daydream you’ve had?
Great questions pookie, thanku for asking!
1) I developed it at a very young age, and while it wasn’t something I talked about a lot (because I didn’t understand it at that age)- it definitely impacted my development and overall outlook on life. I was always in my head, and my parames came along on my life journey just as I did. Dissociative amnesia made things quite foggy for me, and while I do have quite good long term memory; the rest of my childhood memories are a blur due to me being in my head and daydreams so much. It wasn’t til a few years ago that I finally found out the term used for it, and of course did more research and such. It made me feel a lot less alone knowing there’s a whole community and many others who deal with the same disorder- and I hope one day with enough awareness and research- that it will become a single, official diagnosis for those who have battled with it.
2) I believe my favorite para/parame would definitely be Rose, my main. That’s because she was my very first parame and has been with me through everything that’s occurred in my life. Even if she may cause conflict both in my paracosms and my own mind (interfering with my thoughts), she’s helped me become more confident and has really gotten me through those tough moments that I couldn’t of done alone.
3) I don’t have a favorite daydream tbh, but I have some reoccurring ones that I think could, or would, be considered a favorite! It takes place in my starcourt paracosm! (yes the starcourt mall in Hawkins, Indiana in the show stranger things) It contains my main parame, Rose and also her shapeshifted form, or my 2nd main parame Ash the panther. It’s a series-like repetitive daydream that I’ve daydreamed since 2019 however, and I would say my Stranger things paracosm gives me a pretty comforted badass vibe hence why it would be my favorite paracosm to daydream in.
Thank you for the questions, and keep em coming! We love answering them 💗

Me again :D. What kind of music do you most like daydreaming to?
Hi hi again, thank you for the questions! It depends on the context of the dream and para I believe, so I’ll just say some more broad music styles for each as the music I listen to influences acts and events in my daydreams.
Rose likes female artists, might I say only, and empowerment/confidence motivating songs. Some favorites would be “Me, myself and I” by Bebe Rexha, “Boss bitch” by Doja Cat, and “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift. Depending on context of the daydream, there can also be some more softer and darker songs where she shows her vulnerable side to artists/bands like The Neighbourhood, NF, Alex G, TV girl, and more.
Ash, Rose’s shapeshifted form, likes around the same type of music as well- probably more darker and deeper songs like “Water” by Jack Garratt, “Lotta True Crime” by Penelope Scott, and “Blood // Water” by grandson.
Ashe, though absent, likes anything by The Banners- specifically “Got it in you”, as she takes place in a “The good doctor” TV show Paracosm, hence the song being played in the show. I feel she’d also like songs by Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé and Rihanna.
Cade would probably just listen to country or some chill artists like Post Malone, YG Marley, NF, Roddy Rich, and Franz Ferdinand.
As for the others, they aren’t much of music listeners! And when I say music listeners, I mean that my paras do not usually listen to music in their daydreams- the music I listen to will trigger them (/pos) out and they move and experience events along to that music.
The theme of the music is what influences the events, so more confident and outgoing music will create a badass, motivating daydream that usually includes Rose or Ash in it. Some more vulnerable, dark music will create a deeper tone that reflects my mental health and usually includes my paraself or Rose.
I know this is a lot, I hope it all makes sense in terms of music influencing my daydreams! Music heavily affects our scheme so it’s a super good question and I appreciate it hehe. Thanks again!
