For your WIP game!

I love the folder called "Hypotheticals" I do that, too! What sorts of things do you have in there?

Ah! So I actually got your ask and other person's ask about this same thing. I'm going to see if I can divide up how I answer so I'm not repeating myself, lol So, it is indeed a folder, but it's not an ideas folder! It's actually a folder for a multi-chapter fic called "Hypotheticals"! This is a WIP that's been open for a while 🫣 I've got two chapters up on AO3!

This fic is actually a sequel to another fic called "Farore's Day on Windvane Lane", which is a modern AU a 'thankgiving AU' - really it's a 'holiday meal fic'. The premise is based off of a real life experience I had at my family's Thanksgiving 2 years ago: my sister's neighbor knocked on her door asking to borrow bowls, the neighbor's toddler waved “hi” to us all and chucked a lighter at us 😂 His mom was like "Oh, I didn't know he was holding that 😅" - it was very chaotic and I felt like there had to be some kind of Zelink story there. Link's cooking his Farore's Day meal when he gets a knock on his door from his cute neighbor, Zelda. She's a chaotic single mom with a rambunctious toddler. There are some brief hijinx, but mainly this is just a chill vibes story with a lot of flirting between Link and Zelda.

'Hypotheticals' is the sequel where Zelda and Link are getting really serious with each other - he's gonna sell his house and move in with her, that kind of level of serious. But! As it turns out Zelda is... cagey about some things? For instance, Link is a meteorologist in this AU - at points in the past he once used a weather satellite to try to see through the fog/cloud coverage into the Lost Woods. Zelda implores him to not investigate the Lost Woods any more. So what's that all about??? lol

I need to finish this, of course, lolol It's been sitting on the backburner for me... I'll talk more about this in the other ask!

Last line has been messing around with Alpha-17 eyebrow's (again).

The plan is to have a bunch of alphas from various works I really enjoyed (left to right: Angel from airlockfailure, Alpha-17, Fordo and Spar). We're 89 layers in, so let's see what the end result will look like! For now I am trying to use the prompt as an exercise in redoing things over and over again (colouring, perspective, how I draw lips/textured hair, etc). This is the third iteration. (´｡• ᵕ •｡`)

Fic Stats Meme

Thank you both for the tags, @wanderingnightingale and @aquaticpal! I've been pretty quiet on tumblr lately, so I appreciate that you both thought of me 🥹 🥰

Most hits Before and After [E], this is a post-botw/pre-totk story from Link's perspective. Zelda's flirty behavior suggests they'd had some kind of relationship pre-Calamity, but the nature of their relationship is unclear 👀 Link begins to have vivid dreams of pre-calamity memories that start to fill in the gaps. The story explores Link's memory and sense of self. I think the last few chapters I've posted start to do some interesting things with this exploration. This is my longest fic: it's 164,668 words and 30 chapters so far with ~6 more planned. I've been posting since October 2019, wowie!

Second most kudos Assertive [E] Oh, it surprised me that this is my second most kudos'd fic. This was the third fic I ever posted! It's technically a sequel to another fic called "Progression", but it can be read as a standalone as well. "Assertive" is pure smut. In this fic, Zelda gets hot and bothered when Link is assertive in a royal council meeting. Things... happen... lol

Third most comments Farore's Day on Windvane Lane [T] This story was inspired by a real life, comical encounter that occurred on Thanksgiving Day. The whole story made me wonder, "Can I make this Zelink?" Answer: yes! This is a modern AU where Zelda is a single mother and Link's neighbor. During the Farore's Day holiday, she knocks on his door asking for help with something for her own holiday meal. Sparks fly in a cozy holiday setting!

Fourth most bookmarks Asymmetry [T] This is a oneshot set just post-Calamity. The very first night after defeating the Calamity Link is flirty with Zelda, but as soon as the two of them arrive in Kakariko, Link's behavior changes. He becomes unreadable and withdrawn, hardly speaking with Zelda. She, of course, finds herself confused and frustrated. Something happens that forces them to finally talk and the truth of Link's distance finally comes out. Fluffy, young love in this story :)

Fifth most words Under the Surface [M] Oh, this one has a special place in my heart. This is a oneshot set post-Calamity. Zelda finds herself disappointed at how little Link remembers despite all his efforts to get his memories. A barrier goes up between them, causing their dynamic to be tense. Eventually, that barrier begins to come down and a breakthrough moment occurs when Link pulls Zelda into the woods to show her a cicada shell.

Least words composing our future [G] @ravenmist4 started this fic where Zelda writes a letter to Link! Raven asked if anyone wanted to collaborate and I jumped in :D I found Raven's letter written by Zelda to be so compelling and sweet that I couldn't help but think about what Link's own letters would be.

I actually started writing fanfiction after reading @themarydragon Calm Waters Run Deep! Which I found through fanart for one of the chapters…. which is why I did the fanart challenge for my first folllwet milestone!

👶🏼 Fankids: How you do you feel about them? Would your OTP have kids?

I do have one story in which Zelda is pregnant post-Totk (written pre-totk release) but I actually don’t know if I subscribe to the idea they would have kids (at least botw/totk zelink) anymore.
