A tiny look into one of the fics called It's My Party (And I'll Cry If I Want To)!

“Why don’t you just tell them?” Jazz asks Danny once she sits down on his bed, pushing aside his blankets and patting beside her.

“Mom and Dad love you, metagene or not.” She continues.

“Seriously, Jazz, we’ve been over this.” Danny sighs, sitting next to his sister as she turns to face him better, “They hate ghosts, and have threatened to rip phantom apart molecule by molecule. If they’re willing to do that, then what makes you think they’ll stop once they find out their son is a ghost?”

Jazz frowns, “Danny, I know the accident was terrible and horrifying for you, but you’re not a ghost. You need to accept the fact that it simply activated your dormant metagene and gave you ghost adjacent powers.”

“How can I have a metagene when both mom and dad don’t have one! Jazz, I know you don’t want to believe it but-“

“No Danny,” Jazz exclaims as she cuts him off, “ You’re alive. You can’t be a ghost, because ghosts are unfeeling and-“

“Jazz, just stop!” Danny yells, slightly teary. He stands up off the bed, putting some place between him and Jazz as she also stands up with a deepening frown.

“I know you don’t want to believe it but I am a ghost, I died in that accident. I know you don’t want to believe it, but if I can somehow come to terms with it then why can’t you?”

Jazz just stares him down with her disappointed stare. After a few quiet seconds she then sighs, looking exasperated and somehow even more disappointed as she levels him with a harsh glare.

“Even Sam and Tuck agree, Danny. You’re going to far with this ghost thing! I don’t care what that yeti says, or any of those other creatures! You’re not dead. You have a heartbeat and most importantly, you care. You’re not evil, and all this death talk is beginning to freak Tucker out! And you especially need to stop around Sam. They’ve begun talking to me about it, and about how you’re scaring them. And, well, we’ve all agree that you need to stop fighting those ghosts. Mom and Dad are perfectly capable of getting them, so from now on you’re benched. Those horrible things have been filling your head with lies, and it’s becoming a problem.”

Jazz declares before she walks out, keeping that awful disappointed glare on him.

Danny slams the door behind her, silently seething and holding back tears. They talk about his death so easily! Yet they don’t care to acknowledge it. Danny died, whether they want to accept it or not, and there was nothing they could do about it.

Think I meant to do this back when I was vaguely liveblogging my 3rd watch of S6 a few weeks ago, but hit me on said rewatch how much the Sunfire elf plotline is built around Betrayal.

Janai is betrayed by Karim staging a coup in late S4 with the duel of blood and ash, and Karim is betrayed by his own lack of understanding regarding his sister thanks to Amaya's influence in her life.

Then Miyana receives the sun seed and dips in S5, betraying Janai more heavily outright in favour of Karim. (You could also argue Kim'Dael's lack of loyalty is a betrayal of Karim, but I think it's interesting how centralized it is within the Sunfire royal family.) Janai accordingly calls Karim "treacherous" in S6 as well.

In S7, Karim betrays the traditional of a peaceful parlay by lying to Ezran / Corvus and taking them captive. But finally, Karim gets his comeuppance by relying on and being betrayed by Sol Regem, who got what he wanted (his wings healed) and was another pawn in Aaravos' game through his hold on Pharos.

Which I think reaffirms one of the most important lines of Janai's speech in 6x02:

went to the met today! some of my faves from the Sleeping Beauties exhibit 💃

#some lady behind me at one point was like 'oh. mcqueen again. 🙄' and friends when i tell you i almost committed a felony.#YEAH MCQUEEN AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD BE FUCKING GRATEFUL YOU UNCULTURED SWINE #anyway. there was also a family of two like low-teenage girls and their mom and their dad who were there for the exhibit #and one girl was like 'yeah the theme this year is sleeping beauties. it's new each year. it's the—you know the met gala? like in oceans 8?#LIKE IN OCEANS 8?#and the mom was like 'oh yeah right'#and the fucking dad. was like. 'i'm gonna just head for the front door. get some air.'#LIKE. SIR. YOUR DAUGHTER[S] IS AS EXCITED AS A 15 YEAR OLD GIRL IS CAPABLE OF GETTING WHILE ON A FAMILY TRIP. #gundam witch from mercury #gwitch #wfm #sulemio #suletta mercury #miorine rembran #i bet on losing dogs as per gwitch current story progression aka ep17 do you see my vision...#i have particular mixed feelings on ep 17 most of which i feel that the story is done a bit sloppy i think it started around ep 16 or 15 #i really need to get this out so i could study damn it !!#first of all with miorine with the one who's losing a lot by being complicit with prospera's quiet zero significantly trapping herself furt #er in the cycle of revenge and also losing the friends she has come to cherish and also... at the same time knowing hal truths of what real #ly happened prospera true plan. vanadis. aerial and suletta true nature. earth as a spacian battleground. and the whole lot #i feel like she's rushing thru her birthday to eject sul asap from prosperas plan and now whats done is done i feel like she underestimate #what conviction on how suletta values what family means to her. prospera lines where she wonders whether sul will give aerial up #easily is giving vibes that its possible for suletta to take drastic measures to get her family back. miorine grows up on a world that #is defined by strict rules but suletta does not... that is after she's starting to get over her heartbreak i think...#whats interesting about gwitch is that although it considered utena as one of its base material it mixes said materials with how gundam sto #ryline works while simultaneously keeping up with today's themes. so honestly... when this happened today im a bit pissed #another thing that even though on a surface level suletta plays the role of utena with miorine as anthy they are also anthy and utena #respectively. suletta and utena with their kind hearted and naive self with a sense of justice left behind the insidious plot of the school #anthy and miorine titled the bride who adored their respective partner up to the point of deception and betrayal for their own good #SULETTA AND ANTHY GOD THE WITCh. red motifs. i find it funny they both have siblings okay this is messed up. the character shrouded in myst #ery. SCREAMS AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS THE CHICK WHO IS YET TO HATCHH !!!! #yakuza 7 #ichiban kasuga #yu nanba #koichi adachi #saeko mukoda #joongi han #seonhee #tianyou zhao #it is TIME to RAMBLE in the TAGS 🎉#one of my favorite thing in y7 is how (almost) each member of the ichigang comes from a broken family #nanba's brother had recently disappeared and nanba's life was heavily impacted by it #saeko's relationship with her sister is terrible yet still loving and the fact they cannot connect deeply hurts saeko emotionally #joongi considered the original joongi han as his twin brother before he got killed and found another subistute sibling in seonhee #and zhao saw a brother in mabuchi and had a very hard time coming to terms with the fact he was his enemy now #and ichiban well. you know.#the reason why their friend group feels so strong is most probably because they're all craving for the kind of human connection they lost #they're all seeking a familial bond in each other because they were denied this bond with their actual family #or already lost it in a previous found family #(which is why nanbas character arc in Y7 is so satisfying bc out of everyone he was the only one who didn't HAVE to become part of the gang #>as he already had his brother back there was no reason for him to still find a emotional connection with the rest of the group)#only adachi doesn't really fit in this interpretation of their bonds... but he could represent the people who never had ANY family ever #and who are only finding one very late in life. i would be satisfied if this is how he is supposed to fit in the whole family theme :)#codexdraws #y7 spoilers #kasuga ichiban #nanba yu #adachi koichi #mukoda saeko #han joongi #zhao tianyou
