the thing about byler scenes and how miIevens relate all of mike and will's interactions to their own ship that bylers don't get is that it's intentionally written this way. if you're approaching mike's character from a heteronormative lense then yeah it's going to seem like he is replacing el with will in s2, and the crazy together scene is going to seem like mike being unable to let el go because he misses her. or the monologue in s4 is going to sound romantic because this misinterpretation of mike's motivations is what the writers hope to cultivate so that when the time comes to reveal mike's true feelings it's a) more rewarding for people who did see it coming and b) more surprising for people who didn't. I'm saying this as someone who believed those interpretations of mike's character upon first viewing—and that's while actively disliking miIeven. it's honestly kind of an insidious genius because it's going to motivate people who didn't see it coming to go back and rewatch earlier seasons with that new knowledge in mind and pick up on things that in retrospect were obvious. which will increase streams. it's supposed to be vague!

I'm not saying we should just sit back and take it when miIeven shippers are LIKE THAT but just keep in mind that he who laughs last laughs the loudest…

I’ve just recentlyish gotten back from a trip to Japan, and these were some ‘guys’ I ran into in Hakodate.

Specifically they’re an idol group based on historical figures from Hokkaido (yes they were turned into modern anime boys).

My friends and I specifically found the blue one, enomoto as a cardboard cut out standee in the British consulate museum after having breakfast there- and were kinda taken aback.

We ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole on the group so I had to make some fanart for them.

we were talking about the criminalization of homosexuality in class and my professor (who as far as i know isn't in any way queer) said something i quite enjoyed in that. well the exchange was more or less this: a student asked a question (doesn't really matter what exactly just know that i was rolling my eyes So hard internally) and the prof looked at the student and was like (i'm paraphrasing here this conversation was not in english) Do you have any queer friends? and the student went Uhhhh in a manner that made it clear the answer was probably no and the prof said Actually statistically speaking you most likely do. If I had to divide this room into two groups the way to do it would not be "people with queer friends" and "people without queer friends" it would be "people whose queer friends are out to them" and "people whose queer friends aren't". And if you're in the latter category you should consider why that is--if maybe your behavior is indicating to the queer people around you that you're not safe to come out to. to come back to your question if you really want to know about queerness there's a very simple way of doing that: you make yourself a person queer people feel comfortable talking to about their experiences and then you fucking listen to them when they do (the fuck is not paraphrased) (there was a fuck involved) (frankly king shit)

It being Elon's favorite game (or at least one so important to him that his biographer dedicates a lot of time to it) is.....really really funny.

Basically, imagine Civilization, but as a mobile game. So like if Civilization Revolution was even more dumbed down (that's a Civilization insult. That's devastating. It's devastated right now). For what it's worth, it's not a bad game. On the contrary, from what I could tell in the little bit of time I played it, it's a perfectly competent game with good design. But it's not a deep game by any means. I played through it once, won easily on my first go, then saw that the other playable characters had barely any differences between them.
