Why was there never a Hotel California episode why was there not an episode about a hotel in the middle of nowhere that looks pretty normal at first glance but the food is strangely bland because they don't use salt, and some of the other guests have no idea what year it is, and the staff are strangely insistent that they can't leave right now, and when they look closer all the people there are ghosts that aren't aware they're dead, and the hotel is cursed, and they're trapped in there

Dean holds Sam and cradles his face from a place of "you're made for me. You're made of me, Sammy; it must be you. It'll never be anyone but you." And Sam goes mad over him to the point he cuts down pieces of himself to fit Dean: because he's the one thing Sam has guaranteed for himself. Dean provides a sanctuary to Sam (who's constantly othered) that's deposited as the sole refuge from perpetual alienation; it's the only home he belongs to, and he'll do anything to preserve it. (Which is why he literally seems and acts reminiscent of an estranged man when Dean is dead & is visibly lost)

When the Devil himself rises, Sam turns his eye away, finding priority in Dean's calling to him, it's the only thing that matters even though he just did the one irredeemable act man could ever do. But in this moment Dean takes the place of the never-present God, and through his unwavering acceptance of Sam it's a lifeline handed to him that enables Sam to preserve, Dean transcends his status as a brother or father and steps in to personify faith: the intangible unquestionable higher spirituality you appeal to to repent and push on. To some people, their guardian is the hanker they base their self around and the load bearing they fall back on; to others, it's their idol/passion, and to many, it's religion. Now imagine having all of these in one person. It's not crazy that Sam is this self-deprecatingly devoted to Dean. His "I have Dean" when he's stripped of every possible thing becomes a necessity that is life threatening. He must have Dean when he's stripped of every possible thing at all costs. And most of the time, he is the fact.

Dean is Sam's lighthouse, a beacon he instinctively returns to. One that needs to be around. Because it always has been around. Every action Sam does, even the erosion of his own identity, is to sustain its withholding in his life.

One significant thing in Minecraft AU's Corrupted World is that players are transforming into mobs. See, we've been thinking this is normally a fairly benign and gradual process: every once in a while, a small piece of data gets corrupted, and the world will borrow data from some similar object/creature nearby to replace and stabilise it. That's what happened to Jack, a very old player who's simply been around long enough to pick up a bunch of sheep and goat data. But lately, due to both the age of a world that's been running for much longer than usual and Joey's shenanigans pushing the world to its limits, the code's been getting more aggressive about what counts as "corrupted" data, and what was once just an occasional shift to stabilise errors is becoming a threat of full transformation.

Anyway, it suddenly occurred to us that when the others bring Prophet -- a player in a pumpkin mask who is mostly comprised of garbled data -- to the snowy village near their bases, where pumpkin-headed snow golems can spawn........ this transformation might happen terrifyingly fast

"But sir, he's just a little guy!" "..." "Also, he kind of just repaired the entire band for free and opening time is in 10 minutes. soooo.....do we still fire him orrrr-" ".....>:(..."

Okay I'm gonna do them one at a time but here's the 'William and Henry both went through messy divorces in the 70s' lore.

Will met his wife (Maggie Schmidt) outside a bunch of clubs in the 60s (they both smoke a lot). They hung out and hooked up a couple times and Maggie ended up getting pregnant. Since it was the 60s and also Utah they had to get married cus of this. While Will's happy with what a nice, suburban family does for his image, and Maggie appreciates the finacial security; they both can't fucking stand each other. I think this is cus they are, ultimatly, very similar and this pisses them both off. They try to hold it together for a while for Mikey but all this really does is result in 2 more kids. Maggie eventually has enough of Bill and files for divorce. He's initially pretty reluctant but the way his community reacts to the news is to SHOWER him in sympathy (he's really into that) so he goes through with it and plays up how it's effecting him. The kid's stay with Maggie most of the time but Will has them for the weekends (he also refuses to pay his child support). They're seperated fully come like 1982. They're both happier for it even if Will pretends it's a sore subject.

Henry and his wife (Eryk Maya) got married because all their friends were getting married and they got along pretty well (they were in the same Uni circles and were generally nice to each other). They really really don't click as a married couple though. Henry's really distant, aloof, cares more about machines than his human family; Eryk really doesn't understand this and isn't getting given the affection and support she needs. They divorce pretty amicably there's not really any hard feelings between them- they split a little sooner around 1978. Eryk takes Sammy and Henry keeps Charlie with him. He really doesn't handle the situation very well, he gets very in his own head about not being able to fulfil the nuclear-family-husband role as well as Will (apparently) can. Eryk starts dating his sister and also Maggie but Henry is completely oblivious to this (even when he starts living with them in the 2000s).
