why fandom needs to look beyond the marichat and make marinette the beast in disney’s beauty & the beast au:
the beast gets cursed for being rude to someone. this would never happen to adrien who has never been rude once in his life but would definitely happen to marinette who has no brain to mouth filter.
belle’s mom is dead. adrien’s mom is dead. belle’s father decides to fuck around with magic and has to pay the price. adrien’s father… well, you know. belle and adrien pay the consequences. (yes i know otherwise the personality doesn’t fit but okay we have to take SOME liberties)
who do you think is gonna go around befriending teacups and candlesticks and clocks. marinette??? no. did you see how that girl reacted to tikki there’s no way she’d be chill about talking furniture unless she was there when the people turned into talking furniture.
gaston is obviously chloe. i’m tired of people putting theo barbot as marinette’s evil love interest when we could simply gender swap and use the plethora of evil love interests adrien has available. theo was mildly interested in her in 1 episode of season 1 it’s time to retire him.
just because disney’s beast is vaguely lion-like does not mean the beast has to be a furry. cmon guys GIVE her bug parts
adrien IS the most beautiful girl in town and he would ignore all marriage proposals from eligible women in order to run away into the forest to live in sin with a girl with a great personality and antenna. if marinette had lackluster marriage proposals she’d simply kickstart the first wave of feminism a few decades early and support herself financially on her fashion empire.
it’s what we deserve!!!

I’ve taken a brief reprieve in the form of a social media hiatus to get the things that I’ve promised done and after much work and a few additional rewrites, I have the lists I took names for last week. This list is not finite! If you would like to be added to any of the sections below, all you have to do is tell me and I’ll add you in as an edit. I will be pinning this to my blog as well, for easy access.

To be clear, this is their written consent to have Dominants give them orders without asking if they consent first. They don’t need to because this is already their consent, so there’s no need to be shy about it if you don’t want to be. The point of having this list is to never risk running into the word no, so please do add anything you’re not willing to do when you approach about being added to this section.

GASTON FORTIN IS PROUD TO SEND THEIR CHILD, THEODORE FORTIN, TO THE LAND OF AURADON FOR THE UPCOMING SOCIAL SEASON. WE HEAR THEY’RE STRAPPING AND RESOURCEFUL, BUT CAN ALSO BE POMPOUS AND APATHETIC. AND IT’S SAID THEY BARE A REMARKABLE RESEMBLANCE TO CHRIS WOOD, BUT THAT’S MERELY A COINCIDENCE. WE’RE SURE THEY’LL CAUSE QUITE A STIR IN THE TON THIS YEAR BUT ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
basics.
name: theodore fortin (théodore if u wanna get french with it)
nickname: theo.
age: 29 (october 27, 1795).
homeland: shadow realm.
parents: gaston fortin.
gender: cisman (he/him).
headcanons.
born to a father who didn’t want him and a mother who had no means to care for her son on her own, it’s safe to say theodore had a childhood one would lament. but even if food was scarce, even if he was more accustomed to the chill in his bones than the warmth of a soft bed, he didn’t complain. he had everything he needed with his mother. she loved him and doted on him and tried as best as she could with what she had; she called him her ‘trésor’, her greatest treasure. nothing could ever part him from her.
until the cauldron war.
olaf vc: his mother - dead.
or on death’s door, at least. she became gravely ill and with no help from anyone else, she worsened by the day. it was then that gaston, just back from a crushing defeat at the hands of all those good in the newly formed auradon, decided he wouldn’t fail again, not this time, not with the heir to his name, his son (who he had previously dismissed as a bastard born to a whore of a mother, but y’know...). he would raise theodore to do all he couldn’t, to be the sort of man who was revered by others, the way once gaston had been. he’d be great - or he’d be nothing.
and so he was whisked off to join his father in his eternal damnation, learning to hunt, to charm the fairer sex, to carry one’s head high and to never back down from a fight. gaston hoped for a day his son would carry his name and make him proud, outside of the shadow realm.
not that he was a caring and loving father by any means. downright cruel and harsh most of the time, theo didn’t seek to be his father’s prodigy; he would’ve much preferred to be the one to send gaston to his demise.
but along came a decree from the one and only princess of auradon, heir to the throne, and so theodore didn’t think twice about putting a fair amount of distance between himself and his father. now in auradon, he seeks to keep it that way.
though he enjoys being a world away from his worthless father, he isn’t exactly jumping at the chance to socialize with auradon’s finest. he enjoys his solitude. most people are obnoxious and oh-so predictable. most of the time now, he strives only to find ways to cure his boredom, be that with a handsome person who catches his attention or with some lighthearted debauchery among the few people he likes enough to call his friend.
miscellaneous.
sexual orientation: bisexual.
romantic orientation: heteroromantic.
family: gaston fortin (father), angélique beaufort † (mother).
height: 6′0
zodiac sign: scorpio
wanted connections.
a friend he used to mess around with back in the shadow realm - both have an understanding that this is nothing more than physical, but when the two aren’t otherwise occupied, he shares a comfortable friendship with them. (taken by melinoe papatonis, 1 spot available)
someone who didn’t like the fortin son - perhaps theo’s ego rubbed them the wrong way, or perhaps the two just simply didn’t vibe. whatever it is, they don’t see eye to eye and have likely gotten into a physical altercation or two. (taken by lark andersen)
an auradonian friend - or nuisance. this person has tried in vain to get the fortin son to lighten up and partake in the festivities, but their welcoming nature hasn’t quite yet touched theodore. frankly, it likely never will, but it amuses him how hard they try. (1 spot available)

Watching Beauty and the Beast earlier
And all I could think was.....
Sterek AU where Derek gets cursed to remain in his werewolf form.
And his sisters are there in wolf form too.
And Stiles dad stumbles upon the castle and tries to shoot them because he’s a cop and they look like monsters.
And so Stiles finds him and trades places with him.
And his dad goes back to their town to beg the townsfolk to help, but he’s known to drink far too much at times so they don’t believe him.
And Dereks sisters let Stiles out and try to help Derek win him over
But Derek is mister grumpywolf and Stiles is all sarcasm.
And then they bond over books etc of course. Maybe if we want make it longer, Stiles helps with researching a magical creature problem Dereks been having, proves to not be a useless human. Idk.
Anyways. The townsfolk end up trying to send Stiles dad away because he’s clearly finally snapped after all these years of grief.
And for Gaston it can be like Kate maybe? Who’s in the know but wants to keep the monsters locked up or dead so. Or she’s the one who cursed them.
Or Jackson or Theo just being a fucking asshole making shit worse because why not. Stiles flirted with Lydia so Jackson takes his revenge. Lots of ideas for the Gaston part.
Anywho shit happens people fight, Peter kills Kate. The day is saved.
And Stiles confesses his love to Derek, who Kate has just shot!
And Derek comes back and finally has control of the shift.
And they live happily ever after. Duh.
Tell me it doesn’t fit PERFECTLY! It’s meant to be

I'm curious... did it ever cross your mind to have airplanes end with Theo going to Idaho? Bc I know that I thought that's how it was going to end but were u sure the whole time he would come back? Or like what end did u have planned?
Ooooh yesss it crossed my mind soooo many times. The second I realised the story was gonna be longer than just the grand canyon I realised I wanted Theo having a should I stay or should I go crisis because him hanging around Beacon Hills just didn't really sit right once he got out and started acting his age but it was gonna be a fairly easy choice because it was like wander alone aimlessly searching for a life or go back to beacon hills with his boyfriend.
I knew I wanted to include the pack but I thought they'd be a one chapter stop and then gone, like Evelyn. Just a kinda fun people we meet on the road. But then I started writing them and the instant Sammy rocked up in a full shift hearing Theo calling them a 'bullshit hermit pack' I was like "oh...I see, they're theos family."
And suddenly the choice got very hard.
Overall, the better choice for theo would have been to go to idaho after the roadtrip came to an end. Hed have a home and a pack and be out of the hellmouth that is beacon hills.
I'd kinda have loved for theo to be able to go start his life with the hermit pack.
But Theo and Liam didn't wanna cooperate because they're codependant assholes after spending so long falling in love on a ridiculous roadtrip and so everytime I'd go "okay theo, off to idaho with you" theyd go "fuck off mate"
I thought of loads of different endings. There was theo going to idaho and long distance and theo going to idaho but they're all angsty about it and I have to write a sequel to fix it.
There was one jokey "theyre killed by hunters before they get back to beacon hills" ending that yall would have hunted me for.
Theo moving into a spare room at Liams was a thought for a bit.
Just lots of possible endings, and some I really wished I could do.
I dont think I ever managed to convince myself any of those endings would happen though. I could daydream about them but when it came time to write I always ended up writing towards this ending without intending to I guess? Which makes no sense but like. The Gaston mugs being hung up in the last chapter and the pictures from the rides and just these little things that they picked up along the way that I knew I was adding in for a reason but couldn't say why that was right then.
It wa sbecause those dumb bitches knew exactly where they were going to end up

For Your Consideration...

Best First Time

This kiss felt different than the times she had kissed him before when her curse had always been there acting as a lure. It was still there, of course, as it always would be – but this time it was a neutral force in the room. It waited at the edges of his desire for her like a narcotic, not egging him on but intensifying the sensations. She would never be like the peasant girl she had been before, safe and without the menacing air that sometimes followed her, but he had grown to love the way the magic of her felt even in the times when it was a threat.
That was really what broke him. He’d known other women in his life, the more daring village girls would on occasion wander down to his pond eager for a clandestine rebellion and they’d been easy encounters with women who had never really known him nor had he cared to know them. It had been an amusing distraction, until it wasn’t anymore. And now here he was with a woman who did know him, and he wanted so much more.

The whole world felt different somehow when Belle awoke. She’d been in the Dark Castle for weeks now, though in some ways it felt like longer. It was hard to believe she’d gone from princess to maid, but yet here she was. She was sure that Rumplestiltskin had been lonely, or else he’d never have brought her there. It was lonely in the castle, though. Even she was beginning to feel herself overcome with the heaviness of her solitude here. It was oppressive, but at least she wasn’t alone with it. Rumple was somehow always there, hovering and teasing her as she went about her day.
How had he become so vital to her happiness in so short a time? She couldn’t remember, and she couldn’t regret it. He was, of course, there when she made her way downstairs and she knew that he would be there when she went to bed. Her waking hours were made of him.

“What was that?” Ewan said, looking at her in confusion.
“I’m sorry,” she said quickly, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. “I just wanted to see how it would feel.”
“Oh,” he said in a breath. “How did it feel?”
It felt a lot like waking up – like she’d held her breath for too long and finally got her first gulp of oxygen. It just felt right.
“I don’t know,” she said instead. “I liked it.”
“I did, too.”
His voice was so soft and far away, like he almost didn’t believe it had happened and to be honest she was having a hard time figuring out why she’d done it. But it felt right, and the most rational thought she had was that she really just wanted to do it again. She must have shown it on her face somehow, because he leaned forward and kissed her again. She felt her heart in her throat as she kissed him back and he thrust his hands into her hair and she was completely gone. It was such a relief somehow to touch him like this at last, even though she hadn’t been aware of wanting to do so before just now. It was a terrible idea in so many ways, but she’d never felt like that when someone kissed her before in her entire life.

“Mr. Gold?” she blurted out, staring at him with something akin to disbelief on her face. So she evidently didn’t remember much more about the previous evening either, then.
“Good morning,” he said for lack of anything else to say. He was no happier about any of this than she apparently was, which did at least give them something in common.
“How much did we drink last night?” she asked, and he knew it was a rhetorical question but he felt compelled to answer it anyway.
“Too much, I’m afraid. It’s been quite a long time since I indulged like that, and hopefully I won’t be doing it again anytime soon.”

“Beautiful Belle,” he continued. “Even the name doesn’t do you justice. You’re a melody, a song caught in my head all through the day. You’re the music that sets the beat of my heart, it’s every beat whispering Belle, Belle, Belle, Belle…”
“You barely know me,” she said, but it was barely a protest. She was charmed by what he was saying, and he wanted to keep speaking because this was all he’d ever have with her. She didn’t want him, she was kind and would be his friend but he couldn’t delude himself into thinking she’d love him. She wanted Chris Gaston, tall and handsome and broad chested. Cyril knew he was ugly, the skin that was visible was scaled and thickened and the parts of him that his suit covered were even worse. A woman who would want Chris would never want Cyril, but that didn’t stop him from wanting in spite of himself. If this was all he could ever have with Belle, then this would be what he would content himself with. He would bare his heart to her and let her be happy to know how much she was wanted.
“I want to know you,” Cyril said. “I want to know your dreams and your mind, what makes you laugh and what makes you cry. I want to learn you inside and out. Let me have a chance and I’ll create maps of your every mood and write encyclopedias on your mind.”

“I did,” he said. “It was another lifetime.”
She smiled weakly and went to examine one of the dresses he’d left on the bed for her.
“Can I ask you a question?” she asked, looking back from a bright yellow sundress to make sure he wouldn’t mind. “What did you call me?”
“Belle,” he said. “Your name is Belle.”
“Belle,” she repeated as though she were testing the word to see how it felt on her tongue. “And what should I call you?”
He opened his mouth to answer her, but he had nothing to tell her. Regina hadn’t ever given him a curse name, and he didn’t dare tell her it was Rumplestiltskin.

“Truth,” Belle replied and Theo could see the wheels in Emma’s head turning as she planned her next move. Belle was sitting smugly and sipping her drink as though she wasn’t even worried about what was coming.
“What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done?” Emma sat back in her chair like she’d scored a point, but Belle was swaying a little bit and had a giant smile on her face.
“So one time I was...dating this guy,” she said coyly. “And we were at his place and one thing led to another. He had this really elaborate headboard…” Theo already knew where this story was going and the memory was definitely a pleasant one – and from the look on her face when she shot him a glance said she enjoyed it, too. “Anyway, I ended up on top of him and handcuffed him to the bed. Then I blindfolded him with his tie, and –”

“They’ve pushed you,” he said. “Stole your mother, forced your people out, and caused you to be locked away in a tower. Anyone would be angry, take it – use it. Use it to fight them, to save your people. Think of the lives you could save with it.”
He was right, and it was hard to find fault with his words. She could do so much with the sort of magic he possessed. She could escape, she could drive out the ogres and return Avonlea to its former glory. She could keep anyone else from losing a loved one the way she had.
Even as he spoke, she could feel the magic beginning to wake up in her. There was magic in her, and he was waking it up. It was an intoxicating feeling to have this power, she wanted to reach out and take it. It would be the easiest thing in the world to follow where he was leading her, but the anger inside her stole her breath and she could feel it trying to take root in her heart. Her mother wouldn’t have been proud of her in that moment, and that thought was the only thing that brought Belle back to herself.
“No,” she blurted out. “I don’t want it. Not this way. There has to be something else.”
Rumbelle Fandom Lifetime Achievement Award
To which I defer to the lovely @ishtarelisheba‘s write-up so I don’t have to feel braggy:
Mantis has given so damn much to the Rumbelle fandom. Like, even if you overlook more than a million words of fic, she ran multiple events for yeeears. Plus a few other things in service of the Rumbelle fandom, like @WHATSHOULDICALLMRGOLD, a meetup page, and @RUMBELLEWELCOME. SO MUCH. C’mon, y’all. Come on. <3
For fic rewards, anything that wins in its category will get an update of at least 2,000 words! Except for Storybook Romance because that’s still in progress, so I’ll be working on that regardless.
For the Lifetime Achievement Award...I am open to suggestions! Up to and including a small give-away as long as it’s nothing I can’t order online and have delivered.

I’m honestly in love with that one myself. I’ve been dying to edit Disney and it killed me. I needed to use that new pic of Cody which is killing me. I cry every time I look at it but it fit so well for the scene I had in mind.
Thank’s again to @glitter-cake20 for sending me that hand holding pic! <3 Credit for the edit with Liam’s head on Theo’s shoulder /Theo’s new profile pic to @theraekens

I just threw some extracts together to underline my choice of pictures (It’s not the original text cause I left parts out):
“I’m sorry.” Theo grumbled voice rasping like the words hurt to get out. Liam yanked back the shower curtain enough so he could peer through the gap at Theo slouched on the closed toilet picking his nails. “What?” Liam asked. Theo's eyes darted up to meet his, eyes widening in surprise as if he hadn't expected Liam to hear him. He blinked slowly, eyes flickering from Liam's face to the shower draped over his shoulder like a grandma's scarf.
He was positive he was one of the morose people to ever pass the gates of the Disney World.
“You're having ice cream for breakfast?” Liam asked, following Theo as he moved to join the barely existent line for plaza ice cream parlour. “You want one or do you want to keep judging my life choices?”
He gave Theo's arm another tug and was happy to find he actually unlocked it from the bar. At least, he was. Until he realized what two people with supernatural strength could do to each others hands when scared. The upside to having his hand broken by Theo was that at least he'd done the same right back so neither could really mock the other for the hand breaking. Even with still healing hands the two stumbled off of the roller coaster with flushed cheeks, wind-swept hair and hearts racing.
“You’re right, this is exciting.” Theo said dryly, resting his elbows on the bar a smirk tugging at his lips as the cup span in circles slow enough to leave Liam bored.
“Shut up.” Liam said. “It’ll get better.” He didn’t even try to sound convincing. “I’m sure.” Theo hummed. An excited scream ripped through the ride as a child’s teacup span a tad faster than theirs. “You know, I can see why this would make you throw up. It is dizzying.”
Theo ignored his protests and took off towards Gaston’s Tavern, peeking over the edge of the horizon.
“Dude really?” Liam asked looking down at the drinks in Theo’s hands. “You know you just spent like twenty dollars on two drinks right?” Theo plopped one of the Gaston cups down in front of Liam. Steaming pretzels laid on the tray besides them. “You’re welcome.” Theo scoffed, flopping into the seat opposite and moving to grab a drink. Liam raised an eyebrow questioningly as Theo went to take a sip of his fake ale. “You get to keep the cups.” He explained bitterly. Liam dropped his eyes to his mug, a flagon style thing with a little picture of Gaston on the side.
“You’re adorable.” Liam said softly. Theo’s cup paused by his lips, eyes flicking over the top of the mug to Liam. “You messing up that and deplorable again?” He said slowly, voice wavering. Liam grinned, leaning his arms against the table as he poked at his own stupid cup. “Nope.” He said, ignoring the butterflies as he looked up at Theo through his lashes. “You know I’m pretty sure if you look up adorable in the dictionary it’s definition is Theo Raeken spending too much on dumb Disney cups.” Theo’s eyes shifted so he was looking down into his cup, a red tinge painted his cheeks that made it impossible for Liam to ignore the fluttering of wings in his stomach, mouth going dry as he resisted the urge to reach out and press a finger to the bridge of Theo's nose where the blush spread from and feel the warmth it omitted. If it weren’t for the fact he was actively trying not to piss Theo off he would definitely have pulled out his phone to get a photo of Theo blushing.
“Your name would be under obfuscate.” Theo said plainly, taking a long drink from the stupid cup, eyes never leaving Liam's.
“Now you're just being ridiculous.” Liam grumbled, shoving the wet hair out of his face and scowling at the terrible snapshot of him and Theo on splash mountain. Well, not of Theo, Theo looked annoyingly good, cheering as water sprayed up around them, top artfully wet and sticking to his skin.
“Yeah. The once upon a time show starts at quarter to ten so-” Liam let out a dramatic groan and flopped into Theo’s side hard enough to send them both tumbling. Theo caught them before they could hit the ground, one arm curling around Liam’s waist as the other scrambled for a hold on the wall letting out a string of profanities. “Damn it, Liam, I almost dropped my-” “An hours so long-” He said, dropping his forehead to Theo’s shoulder. he listened to the ruffle of the bag as Theo readjusted his grip on his candy. His arm wrapped tighter around Liam’s waist taking enough weight that Liam was able to rest comfortably against him.
Liam perked up when he heard the music rising. He shifted, staying tucked against Theo's side as he shuffled so he could see the castle looming in front of them. Spotlights swirled the sky like beacons.
Liam swayed from side to side as he pretended to consider his options, too soon for him to have actually thought about it he was moving, jogging after Theo and launching himself onto his back. Theo stumbled forwards with a yelp, he managed to right himself again, coming to a jilted stop, head turning as if to look at Liam which only ended in him headbutting Liam gently. Theo sighed, looking back out to the people still wandering down the promenade. He worried for a moment Theo was just going to toss him right off of his back like a bucking horse with how his muscles tensed. Liam clung on tighter, like a koala or a sloth, arms wrapped tightly around Theo's neck and thighs hooked around his hips, squirming closer. “What are you doing?” Theo asked stiffly, even as his hands found Liam's legs and held him steady. “M'tired.” Liam said, burrowing his face into Theo's shoulder. “You always say you're my babysitter, babysitters gives piggyback rides.” Theo was quiet for a moment before he let out a quiet sigh and started walking. Liam smiled triumphantly.
“Yeah, well, apparently I’m a fucking masochist.” Theo muttered, voice a breath like the rustle of wind, so quiet that even with enhanced hearing Liam couldn’t pick it out properly.

We need healthy habits to live meaningfully and purposefully
Sea Princess, Leica Carpo, Ben Romualdez, Sandy and Philip Romualdez and Nico Romualdez
Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible fathers of this world!
Fathers play a vital role in shaping our children’s views of men and the role men play in our lives. Children’s relationship with their father is usually the very first connection they make with a man, and that foundation changes their outlook on future relationships.
Being a good parent takes more than just having a child. It takes real dedication to show up, love unconditionally, and put your child’s needs above your own.
In order to be committed to the mental and emotional well-being of the child, parents must also look after their own health. We cannot offer our children what we do not cultivate in ourselves.
For the past few weeks I’ve been focusing on my own mental and emotional growth. Constantly indulging in the superficial and materialistic facade of social media can be an obstacle to processing the real depths of our feelings. It can be easy to ignore how we really feel inside when we lose ourselves scrolling endlessly through the highlights of other people’s lives. After slowly reconnecting and engaging with my inner well-being, I realized that we cannot be fully healed unless we are whole physically and emotionally.
Self-care is a conscious balance between listening to what your body, mind, and spirit need. We must strive to maintain healthy habits in order to live meaningfully and purposefully. After researching various ways to care for myself through self-help books, therapy sessions, and online podcasts, I now devote my time to anti-aging programs, online exercise classes, and shopping for exercise equipment.

Healthy aging
There are many ways to healthy aging. Proper diet and other lifestyle factors play important roles in adding years to your life and life to your years.
When I was younger I thought 50-year-olds were near the end of their lives. Now that I’ve got this midlife brand behind me, I have a completely different mindset and perspective on getting old. I’ve realigned my priorities to extend the number of years I can live free from the ailments associated with aging – from unwanted wrinkles, memory loss, and creaky joints to a weakened immune system and more!
In order to defy the effects of aging without going under the knife, I have found some helpful tips to “feed” the brain, “eat” for beautiful skin and “sleep” for regeneration. Staying fit in old age is an important aspect of longevity.
Diet and exercise are important preventive measures to slow the onset of age-related cognitive decline. The brain needs healthy fats like omega-3 fatty acids in order for our brain cells to function. Oily fish, like mackerel, can help stave off the deterioration in our minds. Nutrient-rich salmon is also a popular source of omega-3 fatty acids and also contains high levels of vitamins D and B. For vegetarians, omega-3 fatty acids are also found in chia seeds, walnuts and extra virgin olive oil.
Plant-based foods are linked with higher levels of nutrients that benefit the brain. Red, blue, and purple berries can also help protect brain cells from aging. After learning that you can “feed” your brain to stay sharp, I realized that my daughter Jordan Prieto-Valdes’ vegan lifestyle may have made her an even more brilliant writer and artist. She edited my weekly columns and made good use of her magna cum laude screenwriting degree from Chapman University!
The longer you practice maintaining a healthy lifestyle, the more long-term benefits you will have. It’s about finding the right habits that make you feel good. I was happy to read that wine is actually on the “good for the brain” list. Sometimes we drink enough wine to say smart things, but we end up doing stupid deeds. So remember: moderation is key.

Well-fed cells
Living health starts with well-nourished cells. Since eating right all the time can be challenging, it is important to take supplements to provide us with the right nutrients.
Usana CellSentials are so much more than your average multivitamins. Each daily dose provides essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and additional key nutrients. Made with Usana’s patented Usana InCelligence technology, the exclusive InCelligence Complex goes beyond just nourishing the body. It also helps activate your body’s natural ability to respond to stress and keep your cells healthy.
In addition, Usana BiOmega contains omega-3 fatty acids, the fatty acids that keep you healthy in old age.
Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that must be obtained through food because your body cannot make it naturally. As a source of vitamin C, Usana Poly C offers a number of important benefits such as antioxidant activity that neutralizes free radical damage to help maintain cell health.
Regular exercise could both reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in healthy adults and increase cognitive performance in people with little memory loss.
For timelessly beautiful skin, there are many beauty products that help reduce all unwanted lines and age spots. Eating a nutritious diet that includes antioxidant foods will also help keep skin clear. The antioxidant vitamin E helps against wrinkles; some good sources are almonds, spinach, and sunflower seeds.
If you want to have beautiful skin, what you eat is important. To reduce age lines and inflammation, as well as increase collagen and moisture for healthy skin, add foods that contain vitamin C, lipoic acid, collagen, ellagic acid (helps prevent wrinkles), and omega-3 fatty acids. You can find these nutrients naturally in watermelon, bone broth, coffee, salmon, and dark chocolate. Probiotics can also prevent skin damage.
For the fathers out there who are grandfathers or even great grandfathers now, I wish you a very special Father’s Day as you enjoy a day of blessings you deserve. May the Lord shower you with healthy, strong years of fulfilling joys and relaxing times. Take the time to take care of yourself so that you can take care of your loved ones even more! INQ

"JERICHO" RETROSPECT: (1.08) "Rogue River"
Tumblr media
"JERICHO" Retrospect: (1.08) "Rogue River" Once in a while, a television series would air an episode that proved to have a wide effect upon its remaining storylines. This certainly seemed to be the case for (1.08) "Rogue River", the Season One episode of the CBS post-apocalypse television series, "JERICHO".
"Rogue River" was not the first episode to have a major impact upon the storylines for "JERICHO". The series' first episode, (1.01) "Pilot: The First Seventeen Hours" obviously had an even bigger impact, considering it featured the explosion of a nuclear bomb in nearby Denver and other cities across the county - an event that initiated the series' premise. "Rogue River", on the other hand, could have easily been a solitary episode in which the main premise - acquiring needed medication for gravely ill mayor of Jericho - could have been resolved by the end. Instead, the series' producers and screenwriters Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia used a minor incident from the episode to echo throughout the remaining Season 1 and most of Season 2. The end of previous episode, (1.07) "Long Live the Mayor", left off with Mayor Johnston Green's collapse, thanks to an infection that had turned deadly due to the lack of proper medication. His daughter-in-law, Dr. April Green, reveals that the mayor needs a more specialized antibiotic - Cipro - to overcome his infection. Since the medical clinic in Jericho is dangerously depleted of needed drugs, the mayor's sons Jake and Eric Green (April's husband) need to travel to the nearby town of Rogue River and acquire Cipro from that town's larger hospital. "Rogue River" opened with Jake and Eric driving across the Kansas countryside toward Rogue River in the former's muscle car. The pair spot a woman's body sprawled across the side of the road. Eric wants to check on the woman's condition, but Jake insists upon continuing their journey. He had spotted a second set of tire marks and concluded that the woman had been ambushed and murdered for her money and any supplies. Upon their arrival in Rogue River, the two brothers notice that the entire town had been abandoned. And when they reach the town's hospital, they are fired upon by someone inside. Jake and Eric discover a wounded mercenary from the Ravenwood private security firm named Randy Payton and a doctor named Kenchy Dhuwalia. The two strangers reveal that Ravenwood troops were sent to Rogue River to assist FEMA in evacuating the town's citizens. The difficulty in evacuating the hospital led one Ravenwood to snap and start shooting some of the patients. His actions led to an all out massacre of many other patients. Before the Green brothers can get their hands on the medicine they need, a large group of Ravenwood gunmen led by a man named Goetz arrive to confiscate the hospital's remaining supplies. The episode featured two subplots. One of them centered around the efforts of the Green women, Emily Sullivan and Heather Linsinski to keep the ailing Johnston alive long enough to receive the Cipron. Their efforts led Heather, a science teacher, to create enough ice from chemicals to keep the fever down in Johnston's body. In "Long Live the Mayor", businessman Gray Anderson had questioned Eric about the town's newcomers. He made good on his threat to learn more about them, when he and new sheriff Jimmy Taylor appear at the Hawkins home to question Rob and his family about their decision to move to Jericho. Earlier, I had pointed out how some of the plot elements in "Rogue River" end up having a major effect on some of the series' future plotlines. This was especially apparent in Jake and Eric's confrontation with the Ravenwood gunmen and their leader, Goetz. And this is one reason why I view "Rogue River" as one of the series' finest episodes. But it occurred to me that even if the episode had merely been a stand alone, my opinion of it would have remained. "Rogue River" is truly a first-rate episode. Although previous episodes like "Long Live the Mayor" and (1.04) "Four Horsemen" hinted the devastating effects of the nuclear bombs that struck the country, "Rogue River" revealed the full force of those effects with scenes that featured the Green brothers' encounter with a dead woman at the side of the road, and their experiences in Rogue River. Thanks to Federman and Scaia's screenplay, along with Guy Bee's direction, "Rogue River" was filled with enough danger and tension to keep any viewer on his or her toes. But the Rogue River trip was not the only plot that impressed me. I was also impressed by the storyline that featured Gray Anderson and Jimmy Taylor's interrogation of Robert Hawkins and his family. The interesting thing about this particular subplot is that Gray Anderson, who had no experience as a law officer or politician, seemed smart enough to use interrogation tactics that someone with that particular background would normally use. Gray was no dummy. Unfortunately, he had more than met his match in the mysterious Robert Hawkins and surprisingly, the latter's very intelligent daughter, Allison. Between the two of them, they played Jimmy and especially Gray, like a fiddler. But as the episode proved, playing Gray did not prove to be an easy task. And I must say that for a subplot that featured no epic scenes or action, it was filled with a great deal of tension, drama and a little comedy as well. Very satisfying. The subplot featuring the effort to keep Johnston Green alive before Jake and Eric's return proved to be solid, but not particularly mind blowing. Well, I did learn one thing from this storyline. Heather Lisinski is a warm, vibrant and intelligent woman . . . who also seemed to possess nerves of Jello. It amazed me at how easily she nearly fell apart in her efforts to create ice to cool down Johnston. It was a good thing that Emily Sullivan managed to put her back on track. And if one might think I am exaggerating about Heather's tendency to lose her cool, she did it again in Season Two. I could pinpoint the performances that impressed me. But I must be honest, all of the cast members featured in this particular episode did. Skeet Ulrich and Kenneth Mitchell proved they had superb chemistry portraying the two brothers, Jake and Eric Green. I was especially impressed by their scene in which Jake's past and Eric's affair with tavern owner Mary Bailey were discussed. Lennie James continued his superb portrayal of the always fascinating intelligence agent, Robert Hawkins. Michael Gaston also impressed me with his portrayal of Gray Anderson's paranoia. But I was really impressed by Jazz Raycole's spot-on performance as Robert's equally intelligent daughter, Allison. Darby Stanchfield gave a poignant performance in a scene in which her character, April Green, reveal to the unconscious Johnston that she was pregnant. The episode also featured outstanding performances from the three guest stars. Theo Rossi gave an appropriate performance as the frantic and remorseful Ravenwood soldier, Randy Payton. Aasif Mandvi gave the first of several outstanding performances as the talented, but alcoholic surgeon, Dr. Kenchy Duwhalia. And D.B. Sweeney proved he could a subtle, yet menacing villain as the leader of the Ravenwood gunmen, Goetz. In fact, Sweeney would eventually return and solidify his position as one of the best villains I have seen on television, hands down. What can I say about "Rogue River"? Unless I am mistaken, it is considered to be one of the best episodes that aired on "JERICHO". The episode literally vibrated with suspense and tension in two story lines that featured the Green brothers' trip to the nearby Rogue River and Gray Anderson's interrogation of the Hawkins family, thanks to director Guy Bee. The entire episode was well written by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia, and featured outstanding performances led by Skeet Ulrich, Kenneth Mitchell and Lennie James. If "Rogue River" is not that highly regarded, then I believe it should be.

 🤞
send 🤞 if you’d like to interact with me but don’t know how to approach it, and i’ll do my best provide a few ideas.
Well, let’s see. In general, checking in with me about which characters I have most muse for is a good way to start! My Lydia muse is hella high lately, but I could pull it off for anyone except maybe Theo, who I’m debating dropping anyway. I also have a lot of planned muses and a lot of test muses, so ask after those if you’re interested!
For you specifically, I might suggest any of my murder-leaning muses (Lydia, Veronica, Gaston) or almost any of my young adult muses (Lydia, Veronica, Heather M., Heather C., Janis, Anya) for something geared towards your Hannibal muse. I don’t know the NBC show at all, but I’ve read the novels and seen the films, so I’d have a pretty easy time keeping up! It could be a mentor-mentee situation with the murder children, or even with the college children--with the possible exception of Hannibal misjudging the college kids’ willingness to murder. Some could be manipulated into it (Veronica, Heather M., Janis) and some could probably just generally be talked into it, but Anya for sure wouldn’t act on it so IDK. We could also rehash the general premise of TSotL, but with one of my muses in Clarice’s role. Especially with the muses with a weaker moral compass--or a maladjusted one!--I think it could be quite interesting. For some general fuckery, of course, Greek on Greek never goes wrong and Dio is an eternal sasspot with a bigass axe to grind against Hera. Always good for that sort of thing!

5 Trendy Asian Dessert Shops to Try in NYC
Is it just us, or do East Asian foods seem to be getting a lot of love lately? It’s definitely not just us. According to several news outlets, the sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami flavor combinations of East Asian cuisine has been predicted to be one of the most dominant food trends of 2018. A glance over the restaurant openings that have taken place in NYC less than two months into the New Year reveals that food experts might be onto something. It seems that not a week goes by that a new eatery serving up cuisine from lesser-explored Chinese and other East Asian cuisines opens its doors for the first time.
But the ever-changing food landscape isn’t dominated exclusively by savory foods. Asian dessert shops are beginning to gain traction, offering unique confectionery experiences and new flavors to delight anyone with a sweet tooth. Here at Veea, we’ve highlighted five must-visit dessert shops where you can experience the best of what we expect to be one of the biggest food trends of 2018:
Bonsai Kakigori
Tumblr media
                                         Bonsai Kakigori/Facebook
Bonsai Kakigori served kakigori, a Japanese shaved ice dessert that is drizzled with flavored syrup and sometimes condensed milk. It is typically piled high in a bowl and eaten with a spoon. While this dessert may sound similar to snow cone, the texture of kakigori shaved ice is much fluffier and has been described being similar to freshly fallen snow.
This new establishment was founded following founders Gaston and Theo’s summer trip to Japan. Upon returning to their states, they were disappointed and surprised by the lack of their new favorite dessert in New York. So, they set out to create a space of their own where they could serve the Japanese classic and purchased a specialty Japanese ice-shaving machine.
Located in the Canal Street Market, the menu features five flavors: Campfire S’mores, Matcha Mountain, Mango and Ginger, Strawberries and Cream, and Coconut Crunch, which is vegan.
Meet Fresh
Tumblr media
                                      Meet Fresh USA/Facebook
With over 100 locations worldwide, Taiwanese dessert and tea chain Meet Fresh is hardly a newcomer to the food world, but 2018 marks the opening of their first NYC location. Situated at a corner in Cooper Square, Meet Fresh is already making an impact with its unique offerings; according to word-of-mouth, the new sweet shop brings long lines over the weekend.
On the menu are Taiwanese sweets served in bowls such as taro balls (a light purple confection with a soft, springy texture made from taro) that can be served with a variety of traditional toppings like lotus seeds, tapioca pearls, sweet beans, and jellies, sweet tofu pudding, herbal jellies, specialty teas, and more. Most desserts also happen to be “accidentally vegan” and gluten-free.
The Little One
Tumblr media
                                        The Little One/Facebook
Tucked away in the oft-chaotic East Broadway, The Little One is a serene nook that offers a small selection of desserts, mostly Japanese. The 18-seat spot is owned and operated by chefs Eddie Zheng and Olivia Leung, both graduates of the Institute of Culinary Education, who were inspired by the dedication to quality of desserts they discovered while in Japan.
For the time being, their menu offers three types of desserts: dorayaki, a type of Japanese sweet consisting of two pancakes sandwiching a filling, typically sweetened bean paste, monaka (a thin, crisp wafer made from mochi) ice cream sandwiches, and shaved ice. In addition to that, The Little One serves specialty teas, lattes, and malted hot chocolate. According to the chefs, they plan on expanding their menu soon.
Minamoto Kitchoan
Tumblr media
                                           Minamoto Kitchoan
With locations in Japan, Hong Kong, Taipei, London, New York, and more, Minamoto Kitchoan is hardly a newcomer to the world of Asian sweets, but is well-worth a visit for anyone looking to experience carefully crafted wagashi, a traditional Japanese sweet made from red bean, kidney beans, glutinous rice, powdered rice, sweet potatoes, sesame, agar-agar, and sugar.
At Minamoto Kitchen, one can expect to find dorayaki and mochi as well as more obscure sweets, such as baumkuchen (a Japanese take on a German cake), senbei (crunchy crackers that sandwich creme), and seasonal jellies made with fresh fruit that can be eaten chilled or frozen for a sorbet-like texture.
Eggloo
Tumblr media
                                                   Eggloo/Facebook
Eggloo specializes in a Hong Kong treat known as “gain don jae,” which translates to “little eggs” -- a reference to the egg-shaped domes that encase a sweet, cake-like interior. Eggloo cooks all waffles to order and then stuffs them with your choice of ice cream (with year-round and seasonal flavor offerings) and your choice of toppings, which range from Pocky and mochi to sugary cereals and candies.
Although Eggloo isn’t the only dessert spot that serves Hong Kong-style waffles, they are thus so far the only location that has actively appealed to vegan customers by offering once-a-month vegan events that take place over a designated weekend. Rumor has it that the company is working on expanding by offering vegan options year-round!
These are just our top five -- you can find even more options in the Asian Sweet Shops collection, live now on Veea app, available in iTunes or the GooglePlay store.

Lineup Lamentations - GW23
Our Transfers, Captains, and Starting 11s.
WALSH
Transfers:
OUT: Van Dickface, Hazard, Costa
IN (for -4 points): BRUNTINHO, diving cunt Alli, and sir Harold of Kane
Out with the Chelsea in with the Spurs. Seems a natural progression of the squad replacing two heavy hitters with two others from a team with tough fixtures and are not free flowing to a team with easy ass fuck fixtures who are free flowing. Seems a tidy swap to me and it feels good to not have to watch Spurs games from behind the couch anymore. Even though I properly hate Alli and kinda hate Kane.
Finally, it is time to say goodbye to Van Dickydick who I've had on my squad since my GW6 wildcard. He had a good run for a spell but he's been an absolute nightmare disaster the last few games with red cards, injuries, and fucks. Basically wanted to get a replacement who is assured no blank. Very pleased to get in Bruntinho who is clearly a legend and a God amongst plebs. Annoying news out today that Evans is still injured (shocker) meaning Brunt will probably be stationed at leftback instead of OOP but even still he returns for fun even when playing as fullback plus set pieces. He doesn't have a blank and seems like a good shout for the next handful of fixtures. I briefly considered Coleman but I think I'll want to have Barkley and Rom in the near future so that put me off the double up with Baines.
GK: Heaton. Nothing to see here. Hoping for a 10 pointer with clean and baps...should be able to do.
DEF: Three away guys this week which doesn't feel great. What does feel great is that they are all LBs / LWBs. Alonso at Pool probably not great but who knows. A 0-0 wouldn't stun me. Baines at Stoke I don't love a clean there but always a shout for Shawcross to kill someone in the box...would love that. Finally new friend Brunty goes at Boro. Hard to see many goals there especially with Gaston still out for them. West Brom don't really do away clean sheets this year but maybe they could nab one at the Riverside. He'll probably score a goal and get an assist too so I'll take the 20 pointer.
MID: My nightmare differentials continue to be nightmares in Yaya and Ramsey. Yaya had a lovely free kick dong in FA Cup so hopefully that will at least ensure that he takes direct right footed frees over Kev this weekend. Still stunned to not have gotten a pen from him these past two. It must be said, he's on an extremely short leash. He might go next week as I did not, perhaps stupidly, foresee him playing deep as fuck with Dinho out. Hard to rely on only pens or direct frees for points - he's just not making forward runs. Ramsey stats have been great but returns and form has not been there to match. Not sure how long I'm going to give him but with a blank if not two looming he's probably not long for this world. New boy Alli will go against the shambles that is Sunderland so hoping for some points there. Didn't give too much thought on Alli v Eriksen - as discussed on the pod I'll go for the player who has goals in him over the assister most every day. Finally, Alexis rounds out the group. Very pleased that Theo banged a hatty in and looks set to be recalled possibly as soon as the weekend. Hopefully that will see Wenger come to his senses and fuck Donqey off to hell and go back to Alexis up top. I am starting to figure out what to do in life though should Arsenal have blanks in 26 and 28. That will be chief among talking points on the pod moving forward I am sure.
FWD: Crouchy goes again for me. Don't love the fixture and don't love starting him but here we are. Hopefully Berahino slots in alongside or behind him and not instead of him. It's hard to imagine Crouch being dropped given current form. Ibra looks poo but meh. Fixtures still look kind and on pens etc. Still feels okay to hold. I'll probably get rid for GW26 when he's blanking and get Rom in though...unless he sees a significant upturn in form over the next few. Finally, Kane is in for the second time. He's given me three straight blanks last time he was in so hopefully he rectifies that situation.
Cap: Kane. It was a fairly simple decision for me this gameweek. I think Sunderland are a cut below any other side in the league and seem to be in a proper state at the back due to suspensions, AFCON, and general shitty players. I imagine Spurs will completely destroy them. A fairly rare away captain for me but it seems that Sundy are the best fixture in the league by a mile given the recent performances by Hull and Swansea who were formerly competing for this honor. Ibra and Alexis will both likely be much higher percent capped based on early polls, but I dislike both for different reasons. Ibra's form has been woeful in the last couple United games I've watched and Hull look to have a bit about them since Silva came in. They don't seem like pushovers even though they are in full fire sale mode. Alexis will be back on the wing again against Watford and even though they should destroy them I just don't love him on the wing. Stats are still good and perhaps I am being stubborn about it but I don't think I will cap him again until I know he's playing as central striker. Either way, owning both of them covers me nicely and I do believe that of the three options here, only Kane has something like triple return potential.
ALON
Transfers:
OUT: Siggy
IN: Alli
Simple pimple control here. Siggy and Swans are a sight for exactly no eyes. He went through their good run of fixtures bundling up two pointers for fun and I’m sick of it. Getting in at least one Spurs player feels like bare minimum and that swap was an easy decision early in the week as I had the money in the bank. Alli, in what could be a 5+ goal festival against Sundy, feels pretty great to knock some ding dongs in.
I’m floating my other FT so I’ll have two frees again next week. I flirted with some moves for Giroud or Firmino or both but in the end I think the best move is no move. If I had the money in the bank to go Giroud to Kane I would’ve done, it must be said. This will probably be Giroud’s last game for me with @ Stamford bridge next GW and Feo/Wally lurking. I do think he’ll still start this home Watford golden fixture and hopefully leave me on a high note the donkey fuck.
GK: Lee Grant end of. I’d feel so much better about this if last week was a double digit fuckfest vs United but Shrek had to ruin it with a peach of a FK on like 94′... Hopefully he can rack up some saves vs Everton.
DEF: I only have three guys this week with the Holes suspension but I still kind of like the points output potential. Alonso at Anfield isn’t great for a clean (especially if Mane makes it) but we all know what Alonso is capable of going forward.. Bainesy on pens is a start every week and I think at Stoke is a decent fixture for Everton who are in nice form. Lastly Phil Jones who should still fend off Bailly who picked up a knock home Hull which is a great shout for a clean.. that said with many United blanks coming and his spot still sort of in question, Philly might be on the way out for me soon. See why I need two FT?
MID: New lad Alli feels great to come in and make his first Alon cap at the Stadium of Dick vs Sundy. Spurs could really go wild this game with 4+ dongs very much in the cards and in matches like that Alli would be up at second striker alongside Harold and in great positions for more dongs. His form is fucked up good. Firmino keeps his place yet again as I must be the most patient and Liverpool biased fuck in all of FPL :)... But with Mane back this week or next week I’d assume LFC go back to donging for fun and Firmino for sure will go back to playing false 9 which means consistent and elite midfield FPL scoring. Stanislas also probably making his last start for me unless he really tits and looks great, but even still the Bournemouth fixtures turn for the worse after this home Palace plum so he’s probably gonezo. He’s been a good servant for two matches but I really want another return this GW and accept nothing less... Bourne fucking score for fun at home. And lastly Alexis we all have him we all like him he’s a fucking festival. Home Twatford is a reeeally good fixture and he and Arsenal should be able to execute a proper bare bottom spanking.
FWD: No changes up here with three big boys in Ibra, Big Rom, and Big Donq Giroud. Ibra and Ollie with nice fixtures I feel pretty good about them, or as good as a giant lumbering piece of fuck can feel to have in your squad. They still should be in and around the goals that will be scored. Big Rom and Everton with their fixtures and no blank gameweeks coming up makes him all the more sexual and amazing and I’m very happy to have him. At Stoke on a cold Wednesday night or however the cliché goes whatever fuck them and fuck the cold Big Rom is a genius. Go on.
CAP: Alli, Alli, Alli, oi, oi, oi. He’s the dumb looking kid who waves all the time. But he’s good, he’s reeeeaaaaallll good. He has the most promising career of all of the young Englanders I feel like. But anyway back to FPL I think I covered it all above but yeah I just think with Spurs at this Sunderland the actual mercy rule might have to be called upon as Spurs could score 10. And I like that kind of impossibly high ceiling for a captain who is also relatively safe to at least get something on the board. Welcome to the squizzzzzaud Alli lad.
