Steve nearly winces when he steps into the room, following behind Dustin and Mike. He's already wishing he'd tried to shut Lucas up as soon as he'd tried to say that "no, really, I don't mind!"
Because of course he's this unlucky. Of course his date would skip out almost last minute, of course he'd end up with no excuse to avoid helping Dustin with his stupid D&D game and of course the person who probably hates Steve most is crouched on the biggest chair like it's a throne.
Eddie Munson eyes lock on him immediately. He stares for a while, making Dustin and Mike shift awkwardly beside him.
"Absolutely not. No way." He's grinning though. His eyes narrow slightly at Steve, like he's daring him to do something.
"You asked for a sub, we delivered."
Steve simply raises an eyebrow, pointedly shifting the sheets Dustin had helped him make up. It draws Eddies attention off his face, finally. When he looks back up, he's smiling a little more genuinely.
The guys standing at his sides are still glaring, looking almost cruelly excited when Eddie stands up, meandering his way over to them.
He gently plucks the sheet out Steves hand, eyebrows slowly raising as he reads.
Everyone is waiting, eyeing Eddie impatiently. Dustin and Mike are tense, as though waiting for Eddie to blow up. The others seem to expect the same, though Steve imagines they're more excited for it.
"Why did you come?" Eddie eventually asks, still holding onto the character sheet. "What could possibly be so important about this that King Steve would miss the championship game?"
"Dustin said this one was important," Steve shrugs. Fights to keep his calm demeaner. "Something about it being the last one or something. He's been going on about this shit forever. Seemed cruel to leave him high and dry at the last leg."
"Well…" Eddie eyes the character sheet before handing it back. Looks Steve up and down, before finally grinning. His eyes crinkle at the edges. "Welcome to Hellfire, Lady Elora."
He sticks his hand out. Steve shakes it, trying not to grin back.
Even with how often Dustin has talked to him about the game, Steve is clueless. Dustin and Mike both save him from embarressment every time though, quick to argue different options in such a pointed way that he knows the others aren't fooled by.
But Steve doesn't mind, often finds himself rolling his eyes at their antics only to find Eddie eyeing him almost fondly.
He finds that he enjoys it though. He'd make the character Elora as a joke, mostly just throwing whatever seemed to fit at random. An Elf who's a ranger, chaotic neutral, swinging around a bat with nails.
He wonders if it sounds as stupid to everyone else as it does to him.
He's often lost on the story too. But Eddie is brilliant at telling it. Even when he doesn't understand what he means, he flinches when the others yell at a reveal. Anxiety bubbling up when things get tense, slowly getting more and more invested in the game. Even he can tell that they're nearing the end, the final fight.
"You're scared, you're tired, you are injured," Eddie says. "Do you flee Vecna and his cultists? Or do you stand your ground and fight?"
Steve already knows the answer before Dustin speaks up; "I say we fight. To the death!"
"To the death," Mike echoes, nodding.
"To the death." Steve sniffs, doesn't bother fighting the grin.
Eddie grins back at him, the others chanting the sentiment. Steve feels warm with his attention locked on him.
Steve has the first roll. He still doesn't understand the numbers, but the others cheer so he assumes it must be good. But then it goes downhill, so many bad rolls.
Everyone is too hyped up for Steve to keep up so he focuses on Eddie. He's jeering, jumping up out of his seat, encouraging the chaos and seeming to control the energy of the room. When he laughs, he sounds more like a movie villain.
And then, one of them calls time out.
They huddle into a circle, just like they did in basketball. Steve is surprised by how easily two of the older boys pull him in.
"Guys, I hate to say this but we have got to flee."
"I concur."
"Didn't we just agree 'to the death'?" Steve frowns. He's not ready to give up yet. He can feel how close they are.
"That wasn't literal!"
A hand tightens on his shoulder. "Vecna just decimated us. We can't kill him with two players."
"You too?" Dustin sounds just as annoyed as Steve feels. "Vecna only has 15 more hit points left, don't be pussies!"
"Pussies? Really? Cause we're not delusional?"
"No, no, Dustins right," Steve butts in. Barely holds back a warning to Dustin about his language; it's not the time for babysitting. "We're too close now, we can't give up!"
"HEY!" Eddie calls, easily drawing all their attention back to him. "If I may interject, gentleman… whilst I respect the passion, you'd be wise to take Garreth the Greats concern to heart. There is no shame in running. Don't try to be heroes. Not today."
Something about his smirk and stupid head tilt just makes Steve more determined. If he has to continue fighting this stupid game alone, god dammit, he will.
Steve only half pays attention to Mike talking strategy. He's already made up his mind.
"What do you say, Elora?" Dustin turns to him, looking uncertain.
"We can kill him." Steve sounds more sure than he probably has any right to be. But he is. He can feel it in his bones. They can win.
"Fuck yeah we can," he grins at Steve. The others look more uncertain. Dustin turns back to Eddie, shoulders back, chin up and looking almost proud. "Let's kill this son of a bitch!"
Dustin gets first roll and it's bad.
It's all down to Steve.
He can feel how tense everyone is. Dustin and Gareth start yelling when he takes to long. But he can't roll yet, follows his gut; he has to get this right, has to roll at the right time.
It's just like swinging a bat in baseball, he tells himself. Just gotta time it right…
He rolls.
The dice seems to move in slow motion. Steve can almost hear each time it bounces off the board. The tension is so thick that it almost chokes him, for a moment he's sure that he can't breath.
20.
There's a moment where no one reacts. Then Dustin yells, grabbing Steves arm and shaking him in his excitement. Mike, a more similar height, throws his arms around his shoulders. It's a little painful to have him shouting directly in his ear but, he too, is too excited to care.
The others have started yelling too, Eddie dramatically overacting his shock too. Steve can't help but laugh.
It takes a while for everyone to calm down. An even longer moment to stop talking enough so they can start packing their things up. Steve only brought his jacket and character sheet, so he stays stood at the end of the table to wait for the kids.
Eddie keeps glancing up at him as he packs most of the pieces away.
"Harrington," Grant grins at him. "Never thought I'd be saying this but... thanks for coming."
"Oh, uh, yeah, no problem," Steve tries to smile.
"Dude, you missed the championship game to save our asses in DnD," Gareth grins, throwing his arm over his shoulder. "Who woulda thought, though. Steve Harrington, huh?"
The other two laugh. Steve finally feels a little lighter, on safer ground.
"How the mighty have fallen, huh?" Steve tries. And they laugh, Jeff slapping him on the back.
At the doorway, he lingers for a moment, whilst everyone else starts heading down the hall.
"Thanks for letting me play," Steve says, turning to Eddie. "I know I'm not... uh..."
"Don't strain yourself," Eddie waves him off. "It's fine. The kids have raved about you enough for me to figure out that you're a good dude."
"Oh. Thanks."
"You should join their next campaign."
"I don't know. You're graduating, right?"
"Aww, you like me that much, big boy?" He puts a hand to his chest, batting his eyelashes.
But Steve remembers the rumors that went around, remembers exactly how true they were proven to be. And, well...
"What would you say if I am?" He fires back.
Eddie, true to his reputation, is never one to back down from a fight; "then I'd tell you to ask me out like you mean it."
"Alright. If you're free tomorrow, 8pm, would you wanna go on a date? With me?"
"You picking me up in your fancy car?"
"If you want."
"Yeah, I'm free."
"So... that's a yes?"
"Yes, that's a yes."
Steve can't help but fistpump, but it makes Eddie giggle, so he counts it as a win.

Steve has a secret, well “secret” may not be the correct way to describe it. He has something for himself, thats what. Ever since he stopped playing basketball and doing swim competitions once he graduated he's had way more free time, which at first he filled with shifts at Family Video, or bothering Robin.
Then, when she started school he started doing art more. Which, may come a surprise to many, as he never really talked about his interest in paintings and old art.
Greek sculptures that are able to show life in a still ethereal way, while still being able to twist it at their will. Renaissance oil paintings, capturing tragedy yet still being able to portray it as beautiful, in their own terrible twisted ways.
He likes sketching on paper, painting on canvas. His paintings aren't usually too different from the things he sees around him. Honestly thats the only things he paints, people, his friends, places he goes, things he sees that stick with him, dreams, moments that play on repeat in his head.
Around his Junior year, after the Demogorgon, Steve had turned the sad basement in his sad empty house, into his own space. A place where he can go and do his art, hang it, play music on his walkman, or using the record player he got from a pawn shop a few months prior. Somehow the basement is the only space that actually feels like his in his house, not even his bedroom.
Steve’s art was not very consistent to be honest, mostly the kids and Robin, landscapes that he liked, the Demogorgon/dogs, the Mindflayer (he needs some way of getting those out of his head, and somehow drawing them down feels freeing.) He does have a few paintings of Nancy from when they were together, she’s become less of a model for his work after everything though.
The last time he painted her in a painting alone, was one of that bathroom in a girl he barely knows’ house, a spilled drink on Nancy’s dress, and red solo cups littering the counter.
Steve’s art shifts though, after a moment that will never leave his mind. He knows who Eddie Munson is, obviously. How could he not? Honestly Steve isn't that surprised Henderson and the others befriended the guy, he does run a DnD club.
But then, Henderson needs a ride home after their club meetings because his mom is working late, and then Lucas and Mike’s parents are also asking Steve to pick them up too. Babysitting duty, as per usual.
Steve arrives a bit earlier than he planned. He didn't have any project to consume himself into, hitting an art block begrudgingly. But then, Steve sees Eddie Munson, sitting on a fake throne, watching the kids and other club members argue, he has his chin rested on his fist, and he's wearing a white tank top, showing off his shoulders, given the fact it’s still September.
The lighting of the small theater room captures Steve’s interest like a moth to the flame, and he is regretting having left his sketchbook at home, even though he never draws around the kids or anyone he knows.
Eddie Munson’s face and curly locks fill up the pages of Steve’s journal and some canvases for months after, and Steve rarely genuinely complains about coming to pick the kids up.
Afterwords, months later from that day. Chrissy Cunningham dies, and Eddie Munson almost goes with her. God, or whatever deity that was looking down upon him, was on Steve’s side in that moment, when he was able to revive Eddie and then drag him out of the Upside Down.
Steve gets closer with Eddie after that, they become actual friends. Steve was so used to witnessing his muse from afar, it was so…exciting, to see Eddie in all his glory, just a few feet away, and his smile being directed at him.
“Do you even have any hobbies, Harrington?” Steve blinks. Him, Eddie, Robin, Nancy, and the party, are all hanging out by the pool. Steve is lounging on one of the chairs, sunglasses over his eyes as Eddie talks beside him.
“What?” Steve responds.
“I mean…I like barely ever see you do anything besides sort Movies at Family Video, or boss around the kids. Like, what do you do when we're not all together?” Eddie asks, moving his hand a little as he talks. Steve thinks for a moment.
“Funny,” Steve answers instead. Eddie scoffs.
“I'm being serious, man! What do you do?” Eddie laughs a little, most likely at the ridiculousness of it all. What would Steve know, Eddie is like a puzzle, and Steve has to take every minute slowly, deciphering everything he lays out for him, via tongue or action.
“I don't know, what do you do?” Steve says, almost carefully.
“Band stuff, DnD, Writing,” Eddie lists. “And I guess saving the world now, but thats a bit of a side hussle.” Steve scoffs.
“Whatever, man.” And thats that, they don't talk about it again. But it sticks with Steve, because his friends really do think he doesn't do anything with his life. It's not like he has college classes to study for, so what does he do?
Later, maybe two or three weeks after, Steve decides he wants to show Eddie his space. The two of them are alone, Robin is in Nevada, visiting her grandparents, so the trio’s usual movie night is cut down to a duo’s movie night.
Although Steve finds himself mostly focusing on Eddie and his beautiful hair sitting next to him, than watching ET. The little alien scares him a bit anyway. Eddie notices him staring though, his eyes flickering to meet Steves, then a smirk spreading across his lips.
“We are watching a movie, lover boy.” Eddie says. Steve goes red, his gaze shifting to his lap. Steve furrows his eyebrows then stands and shuts the TV off. “Woah! Hey!”
“I want to show you something.” Steve says, it's a bit quieter than he meant it to be, but his tone indicates something to Eddie, which has him staring at Steve, starstruck.
Steve walks out the room and hears Eddie follow him. He gets to the basement door and opens it, flicks on the stair light.
“Basement- woah- okay, guess I'm getting murdered. Thought I’d go out in a more metal way than this.” Eddie says as they walk down. Steve laughs a little and shakes his head.
“I just think you should see this.” Steve says. “Nothing life threatening, I promise.”
“Alright, I trust you, Stevie.”
“Good.”
Steve turns and flicks on the light as they step onto the concrete. The lights flicker on, revealing the paintings on the walls and art supplies on the tables and counters.
“Woah-” Eddie says. “Is this, all your stuff?” Steve sighs, he folds his arms and faces Eddie. He looks shellshocked.
“Yeah.” Steve says. “You said I don't have any hobbies, I do, actually.” Eddie looks around, walking slowly.
“Is that Henderson? Why is he wearing yellow gloves?” Eddie asks. Steve walks over to a painting of Dustin from Steve’s angle while they were walking on the train tracks, a bucket of raw meat is in one hand and he's wearing the headphones for his radio.
“D’Art,” Steve says. “That was when we were leading him away. I made that one after everything happened. I was trying not to think about the Demogorgon stuff and everything, so I just drew him. I have one of Max from that day I never finished painting in a stack I think too.” Eddie doesn't say anything for a minute after Steve is done explaining.
“You can paint.” Eddie says, though not like a question. “These are beautiful…” Eddie looks around and walks to another one he sees. It's one of the Byers and Hopper’s, all hugging while laughing. El looks the happiest. Steve had painted that after they had all gotten together after everything. “Why…didn't you tell anyone?”
“About what?” Steve asks, folding his arms as Eddie brings up a hand to touch the painting.
“This- Steve, you're amazing at this. These are…” Eddie trails off as something catches his eye, he slowly starts to walk towards a big painting propped up behind one of the tables laid out in the middle of the room. Steve walks to him to see which one he's looking at.
An angel, knelt over a puddle, crying as it stares at his reflection, which is blurred and dark. He stands in a forest, his wings are long and huge, sprawling out above him.
It’s one of Steve’s bigger ones, the inspiration came from a dream he had after they had read about Icarus in his english class back in Highschool.
“It’s… magnificent.” Eddie whispers. Steve smiles gently at Eddie’s reaction. Eddie backs up a bit and looks away from the painting. “Is that me?” Steve follows his eye, to the painting. Eddie walks towards it, Steve stays behind him. It’s the first one Steve ever made of Eddie, the one of him on the throne.
“Yeah, it is.” Steve says. “I made that the first night I came to pick up the kids.” He says. “The first time I met you, actually met you.” They share a look.
“You are incredible, Steve Harrington.”

Steddie Upside-down AU Part 25
Part 1 Part 24
“You mean blood draws this thing?” Hopper asks. He’s finally seated at the table, no longer looming over Eddie where he sits, like he’s just picked him up for possession and taken him in for questioning. Again.
“We don’t know,” Barbara  says. Nancy chimes in, “it’s just a theory.” All three of them ignore Eddie’s shouted “Yes!” As if he isn’t the only one that’s seen the thing more than once.
Hopper steeples his fingers in front of his nose, looking like he’d rather be almost anywhere else. Eddie can’t blame him. He also wants Hopper to be anywhere else.
“We’ve got a plan,” Nancy says. “To test the theory.”
Hopper sighs, closing his eyes and pinching his brows, the same way he does when he catches Eddie selling pot outside of the high school. Or at the trailer park. Or at parties. “Let’s hear it then.” He doesn’t open his eyes. Nancy starts speaking anyway.
Eddie, having been mostly absent last time, tunes in for the conversation. She wants to jerry rig the house with bear traps. Like they’re in the Looney Tunes and she’s trying to catch the road runner. Hopper doesn’t seem all that impressed. Neither does Wayne.
“No,” Wayne says.
Hopper still hasn’t opened his eyes. Maybe he was so shocked by the slap dash plan that he gave up and went to sleep.
“Excuse me?” Nancy says.
Eddie bristles at her tone, but Wayne doesn’t even twitch. “You’re kids,” he says, like that’s all there is to say.
“But, Steve –”
Joyce jumps up from where she was still huddled with her sons to tower over the table in all her five foot nothing furry to shout, “this is not yours to fix!” It works to shut them all up. “It’s not you kid’s responsibility to save another kid.”
“But, Mom,” Will says.
Eddie wants to echo the sentiment. Wants to beg. Steve saved their lives, and they’d left him. She wants them to just leave him there? Again? “I know, baby. We’ll get him.”
“Anyone called the boy’s parents?” Wayne asks, but it comes out barely as a question. He already knows the answer, even before Hopper scoffs.  Everyone at this table does.
“Like anyone even knows what country they’re in,” he replies while Joyce bristles, like the thought of anyone’s child being left like that leaves her seething.
“Enough of that,” she says, waving her ends in a cutting motion in front of her. “How are we going to get that boy back?”
Will stands up and storms out of the room. Eddie’s never seen the kid be anything but polite. Eddie stands to follow the tug at his sternum telling him to keep the kid in his line of sight.
“Will?” Joyce calls, trying to follow as well until Jonathan tugs her back by her arm with a quiet murmur he can’t make out.
The house isn’t large. He can hear the silence reverberating as he follows Will. The best plan they have so far is Nancy’s game of mouse trap. If it means saving Steve, Eddie’s ready to form an alliance with the devil he knows. If it means saving Steve, he’d be willing to do worse.
“I could go back to the lab,” Hopper says, voice barely carrying down the hallway.
Will’s sitting on a bed when Eddie finds him. It’s small with a blue comforter on it, covered in little cartoon planes. There’s a poster of Jaws on the wall, D & D minis on a bookcase. This might be the coolest kid alive.
Eddie takes a seat beside him, the mattress squeaking as he huddles into it.
Will’s hand is dangling between his knees, cradling a walkie talkie. He doesn’t look over at Eddie, just keeps staring at it like it’ll crackle to life at any second.
“Whatcha got there?” Eddie asks quietly as voices raise in the other room. Eddie wonders if this is what it would’ve felt if he’d had a baby brother back when voices were always raised in his house. He wants to scoop this kid up and bolt out the window.
Will barely seems to notice the noise. He’s still just staring down. When he finally drags his eyes up, it seems like it takes effort. “I want to call Mike.”
“Okay,” Eddie says. “Who is Mike?”
Will’s eyes shift back down. “He’s my Steve.”
Well, Eddie has no idea what that means, but he can glean some things: Mike is important, and Will wants to talk to him. “So, call him.”
Will’s shoulders curl in. He cradles the walkie talkie to his chest like it’s a baby. “He thinks I’m dead.” It comes out of his mouth bitter.
Eddie reaches out, clasps his shoulder gently. “Then, I bet he’d love to hear that you’re not.”
Slow as molasses, Will raises the walkie talkie up to his mouth, holds down a button and speaks. “Mike?” he asks. “Do you copy?”
He decompresses the button. The silence trickles back in as they both now stare at the walkie talkie, waiting for something to happen. “Maybe he didn’t hear yo–” Eddie starts to say, conjuling, when a frantic, prepubescent voice crackles through the little speaker.
“Will?!” A voice asks, overlapped by another saying , “–didn’t say over, Mike!” before the fuzzy sound stops abruptly.
Will waits a second before pushing the button again, and speaking, “I’m here, over.”
“Where are you?” presumably Mike asks. “We’ll come get you!”
Will smiles, eyes brimming. “It’s okay,” he says, voice lighter than Eddie’s ever heard it. “I’m home.”
The silence lasts longer now, until a new voice filters through. “Yeah, yeah, I’m glad you’re back, Will,” attitude dripping even over the static of the line. “Now, the bad men have got us pinned down, you gotta help us.” it says, before tacking on a quick, “over.”
“Bad men?” Eddie asks, looking over at Will, hoping this is some ill-timed inner-circle game.
But Will looks confused. Panicked. “I think we should go get Chief Hopper.” Will says.
Great. Another fucking problem. Eddie regrets ever being dragged back through that goddamn hole in the tree.

how the van scene confirms mike's feelings - the framework & editing
i noticed something while editing a compilation of mike staring at will lovingly (because bless finn's amazing acting) and suddenly found myself analysing the editing choices/shots from the van scene (will’s monologue).
i found this scene doesn't only confirm will's feelings for mike, but mike's too.
what exactly makes this scene confirmation of mike's feelings besides the brilliant acting? it's the perfect cinematography and editing. ST's cinematography has been one of its greatest strength's, in my opinion at least. they know how to move the camera perfectly to tell us exactly what a character's thinking. the editing is also perfect.
**for this post, i won't be bringing up the lighting work or acting (at least not much) because it's something that's already acknowledged a lot.**
in the van scene, we are only able to really realize mike's feelings because of its choice of shots - specifically two subtle shots.
first shot:
every shot of mike during the speech had will still in the corner. unfocused, but still there. (minus the rear mirror and window shots)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
except for one...
the editing work is one of the main keys to what makes this scene so intimate besides the great acting. the way it goes back and forth between close ups is meant to display tension/intimacy. they keep swinging between the both, almost telling the audience to pay close attention. there's something happening that isn't being said. the editing choice inflicts a feeling that rest of the world is gone - it's just them. (which is often what you typically feel when there's raging chemistry between you and someone else)
then they throw this one shot in, which subtly parts mike away with this conversation. he is distracted by something else..
the fact this one stands out different from the rest is important. will could still be seen in the other shots while showing mike is focusing deeply on what will is saying. then suddenly, just for one shot, will isn't there anymore. it's just mike, nervous and breathless. this is telling us that mike is no longer paying as much attention to what will's saying, but more on what he himself is thinking.
despite this being such a minor thing that is easy to dismiss, it changes a lot if you would've just framed it like the rest. not only would it get repetitive, but there would be nothing to take from the scene [visually] other than the fact mike is focusing on what will's saying… and sure, enjoys looking at his lips a lot. but, when you really think about it, the inclusion of this shot is what actually confirms finn's acting is intentionally romantic. the editors wanted to give the audience this one specifically framed shot of mike to draw your attention from what will's saying, to start wondering what mike is thinking.
and if you haven't already caught onto all the lip staring and quick glances, he’s thinking about will.
second shot:
there's one other shot that confirms it, too - the shot with jonathan and the rear mirror. this happens twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
referencing back to what i said earlier about how chemistry between you and another can feel like the world shuts out and it's only you two, despite that being how it feels, it’s the exact opposite - everyone notices it. people around you can also see that chemistry. though.. it's only noticeable when it's truly real.
this is the point of the rear window/jonathan shot.
jonathan is noticing a shift in their relationship. he notices not only will's feelings, but mike's too. will is turned away, mike is looking at will - something will can't see. will story-wise believes his love is unrequited... when it's clearly not to the audience (or jonathan in this case).
this rear window shot is included to confirm to the audience that it is exactly what we're thinking - there is something romantic going on, there is electricity. so much so that other characters are catching on themselves. it isn't just a pretty shot. if it were, jonathan wouldn't have been included, and it wouldn’t be there two different times. filmmaking is precise, never forget that.
-
filmmaking (cinematography in this case) is so powerful and complex. any slight adjustment in editing or choice of framing can change the story you are trying to tell.
so all in all, byler endgame

Summary - You're Abby's Favorite Daycare Attendent!
Pairing - Mike Schmidt x Fem! Reader
Warnings- All fluff!
»»————- ♡ ————-«« ♡ »»————- ♡ ————-««
Every day felt the same, gray, uncomfortable and cold. Nothing seemed to bring the warmth like it used to. Even getting out of bed feels like a chore. I rubbed my eyes, staring into the darkness of the room around me. The soft blankets coddled around me were the only things keeping me from feeling the light cold air around me. I could only let out a sigh as I thought about the day ahead of me. The same old same old, wake up, work, clean then sleep. Over and over again until I could feel nothing.
Today was one of those days, where I felt nothing. I didn't even notice that I got out of bed and had already gotten dressed. It was like a blur, like everything around me is simply a picture and none of it is real. It’s almost nice to think of it like that - a picture. It makes the things around you more interesting, a painting can be anything you interpret it as. It can be beautiful with every stroke of the paint having meaning and purpose. Or, there is the other interpretation, the one that makes the world look sad and unappealing with bland colors and concepts. But, I didn't like to think of it that way. If I'm going to live in my own fantasy world and believe that the world is a painting, it's going to be a happy colorful one damn it.
I stepped out of the room and made my way to the bathroom, god I looked terrible. My hair looked like a bird just laid eggs in it and my face was swollen from the night's rest. I’ve always been hypocritical about how I looked, but today it was just a joke. Did my look matter that much? Not really in the grand scheme of things but to me it was important. I work at a daycare and the thought of a parent thinking I looked like a bum on the street and questioning if I had good hygiene made me want to throw up. I spent the first hour and a half trying to make myself look better. I finally felt like a person again as I put my hair up. I gave myself a small smile in the mirror and it immediately fell.
*buzz buzz*
I looked down at my phone and saw the time, shit. I was late to work, again. I never woke up early to get ready and make myself feel like a person again. Now that I think about it, that's a bit of a problem. I went to the front door and grabbed my bag then rushed out the door. My job was the one thing that I really truly loved. Seeing the kids' faces light up when I enter the room and rush over to me to ask to play with them was always a highlight. It made me feel like my life did have purpose. All these kids relied on me while their parents worked or had a day to themselves, I’ve even become quite attached to a few of them. There was one kid that I look forward to seeing everyday, her name was Abby. She always had a smile on her face when she saw me grabbing my shirt practically begging if we could draw together. I would always spend most of my time drawing and playing games with her while the other daycare attendants played with the other kids. Abby didn't have a lot of friends and besides with you, she was often really quiet. I smiled at the thought of seeing Abby today. She should already be there by the time I walk through the daycare door.
And just as I suspected, when I came through the door, there she was. A big smile on her face, her hair curled slightly and she had on a pair of cute overalls. “Hey Abbs!” I gave her a soft smile and opened my arms. She came running over and gave me a huge squeeze. “I thought you weren't going to be here today, I got sad.” Abby said, looking up at me with her large doe eyes. I moved my hand to her head, messing up her hair a bit. “You know I don't miss a day kiddo.” She giggled in response, “come draw with me Y/N! I've been waiting all morning! I have an amazing idea of what kind of cats we can draw today” Abby dragged you over to the table with all the art supplies spewed about. That was Abby and I’s thing, drawing cats in different scenarios. You know pirate cats, president cats, the whole works. “What were you thinking?” I sat next to her and smiled. She made a small drumroll on the table with her fingers. “....zombie cats.” We both went silent as we looked at eachother then let out a small giggle. “Zombie cats it is then.” We spent that afternoon drawing zombie cats in different scenarios, zombie cats in the grocery store, getting hair cuts, driving cars and my personal favorite two zombie cats that were dressed like Abby and I.
“Y/N?” Abby put her green crayon down.
“Yes Abby?”
“You should meet my brother, he would like you.” Abby had the most serious look on her face and I giggled. “Really? Now why's that?”
“Well I like you and you're my friend so why wouldn't he like you.” She picked her crayon back up and continued to draw, “he likes all my friends.”
“He seems like a very nice Abby, I would love to meet him.” I gave her a soft smile.
“Abby?”

You're his ex, but he's desperate for a babysitter. (pt. 2)

Part 1 Part 3
─────────────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────────────────
Mike calls you up to ask a favor for the 2nd night in a row. He hates having to resort to you, his ex for Christ's sake, but he has no other choice. Besides, after last night... maybe he doesn't hate it so much.
"Again?" You ask, feigning annoyance. "What, did your usual babysitter fuck off and die?"
Mike winces at that. "I hope not. I can't really afford anyone else right now."
"And why do you expect me to come be your free labor, Schmidt?"
"Because I'll owe ya one?"
"You already owe me one from last night."
"..."
"I'll owe you two."
You scoff in an attempt to cover a laugh. Damnit. Why did he have to be so charming?
"Fine. But we are not making a habit of this."
"We aren't. I promise. I'll look for a new babysitter this weekend. I just can't leave Abby alone overnight."
"That's a strange way of saying you can't go another minute without me."
"You're delusional, woman."
"A delusional woman you owe two favors, Mikey. Be careful throwing insults."
Now it's Mike's turn to stifle a laugh. He coughs in a feeble attempt at covering it up.
"What, catching a cold?"
"No. You just make me sick."
"Stop flirting with me and hang up already."
Mike does just that, slamming the corded landline phone back into it's holster. The little smiley face sticker Abby stuck to it years ago seems to taunt him almost as much as you just did. He sighs, leaning against the counter and wondering how he got himself into this mess. He shouldn't enjoy it so much when you toy with him like this. That's all it was, he was being played with. But damn it, after being lonely so long... he'd take what he could get.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
You arrive at his house around half an hour later, annoyed at the prospect of crashing on his couch for the 2nd night in a row. You try to make your displeasure evident with a scowl as he opens the door, but when you see the way he's gawking at you...
"Stop staring. It's rude." You can't help but smirk slightly as you scold him, he's just so easy to mess with.
"Did you really have to dress like a slut just to babysit?" Mike hisses as you set down your things, taking in your outfit. A pair of shorts that you'd definitely be cold in, and a white tank top. Of course, you had a hoodie too, but it was unzipped, and he was more focused on what it didn't cover.
"Hey, last time you said..." Mike nods to the kitchen, and you trail off as you notice the girl sitting and coloring at the table. Abby. Oh. Right.
"You're not in any position to judge my clothing choices, Mikey."
Mike shivers as you whisper in his ear. What exactly is that supposed to mean? His clothes are fine, right? He studies his hoodie and jeans, then shakes himself and grits his teeth as he follows you into the kitchen.
"Look! Mike drew this one!" Abby excitedly shoves a piece of paper in your face as you sit down at the kitchen table with her. It's a sketch of a forest, pine trees and shrubs. It's actually rather well drawn, and you take a minute to look over it.
"It's nice, but you're the better artist for sure." You slide the paper back over to her and give Mike a teasing smile as he sits down across from you, on the other side of Abby.
"Oh, I know." She turns her attention back to her own drawing, another one of Mike. And... wait, was that...? No, it couldn't be...?
"Abby, what are you drawing?" Mike asks the question before you can, craning his neck to get a better look at her paper.
"You." She responds vaguely, still scribbling away.
"Okay, but what exactly is he doing?" You ask, scooting closer to her for a better look.
"And what am I wearing?"
"A suit. It's your wedding." Abby casually drops a bomb on you both, still not even bothering to look up from her paper. Wedding? Mike?
"You're engaged?" You turn to the dumbfounded older Schmidt, and discreetly scan his hands, looking for a ring.
"N-no? What? Abby, I'm not getting married." He finally sputters, face flushed a light shade of pink.
Abby doesn't respond, still focused on her drawing. Now that you're sure what it is, you can totally see it. The red isle. The benches. Mike, wearing... something that sort of resembles a suit, if you squint. And... a bride. You nearly choke when you spot her.
"Abbs, who's that?" You ask, pointing a shaky finger at the bride, who almost looks familiar...
"You."
"..."
Mike gives you a look, and you both quickly excuse yourselves from the table.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
"Seriously, Mike? First you tell her I'm a witch, then you tell her I'm your fiancé? Make up your goddamn mind." You scowl at him and zip up your hoodie as he closes the door behind you. The night air is chilly, and you're almost starting to regret the shorts. Almost.
Mike returns your scowl as he leans against a wall. His porch isn't exactly the best hang out spot, but you two needed to speak privately after Abby's little comment.
"I didn't tell her you're my fiancé." He growls, speaking firmly. Must be trying to make up for the way he was totally blushing earlier.
"So what, then? She just made it up?"
"Come on..." He groans, burying his face in his hands and letting the tough act fall for a moment. "You know how she is..."
It was true, his sister was... weird. He still loved her obviously, more than anyone, especially his stupid ex-girlfriend. But she was certainty different from other kids, made evident by the fact she spent more time talking to imaginary people than Mike.
"Seriously... I didn't fuckin' say that..." Mike wasn't a very good liar. But this wasn't lying, right? He'd never explicitly told Abby he was going to marry you, but he definitely humored her when she asked about it way back when you two were dating. He'd told her maybe. Maybe. To a kid, that meant yes.
"You sure, Mikey? Don't have a ring hidden away somewhere, waiting to pop the question?" You cross your arms and scoff, but it's hard to be angry when this whole thing is so amusing. Abby definitely had a wild imagination, but she wouldn't just make up something like that out of nowhere. There had to be more to this.
"Hell no. I'd rather die alone than marry a witch." He practically spits in anger, but he's more angry at himself than you or Abby. He should have shut Abby down immediately when she asked about marriage... especially considering the relationship hardly lasted 3 months. But, well, he was a lovesick fool. Way back then. Not anymore.
"Pfft. Fine. Have fun at work, Honey." You taunt him as you head back inside, and you can hear him grumble more than a few curses in response.
Little sisters and ex-girlfriends, man. Mike wanted to scream.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
You nearly choke on your glass of water as Abby drops yet another bomb on you.
"C-can you repeat that?" You ask, coughing.
"Will you teach me witch stuff? You know, cursing people?" Abby blinks up at you innocently. Damn these Schmidts and their big brown puppy eyes.
"Please? When you lifted the curse from Mike, it really worked!" She insists eagerly. "He colored with me!"
You watch as she proudly holds up Mike's drawing of a forest. She must really treasure it.
"I... uh... why do you want to learn witchcraft, Abby?"
Abby cocks her head at the question. "Why wouldn't I?"
"Fair enough." You laugh and shake your head. This kid.
"Alright... but we can't do witchery on empty stomachs. What do you want to eat?"
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
When Mike quietly slips back into the house at the crack of dawn, he nearly trips over his own feet when he sees the state of his kitchen table.
"The fuck happened here?" He mutters, picking up one of the many papers strewn across the table. The weird markings all over it vaguely resembled hieroglyphics, not that he was an expert on those. The part that really concerned him, though, was the circle of candles in the center of the table.
They weren't lit, thankfully, but they looked like they had been. Damn it. Those were for emergencies. Like the time he forgot to pay the power bill.
"Too tired for this shit." He gives up on trying to decipher whatever-the-fuck you and Abby did, and makes his way into the living room. He pauses yet again when he sees you sleeping on the couch. Was that his blanket? And pillow? From his bed? Damn infuriating woman.
"Get up." He gives your shoulder a shake, not bothering to be gentle. He doesn't have the patience right now.
"Nngh... 5 more minutes." Ugh. You sound just like Abby.
"Don't be a bum." He rips the blanket off of you, then immediately regrets it when he remembers just how little you're wearing. Your tank top had shifted, almost completely exposing your... fuck, he shouldn't stare.
"Don't you have work?" He grumbles, flopping down in his recliner and pointedly looking away from your body.
"Nah... It's my day off." You sit up and stretch, planting your feet on the floor and reaching up to the sky as you lean back against the couch. Either you don't notice that one of your breasts has fallen out of your tiny top, or you just don't care. Mike clears his throat and looks away again. Fuck. He's definitely blushing.
"Oh, shit." With a casual hand, you tuck your breast back into the tank top. Must have moved around a lot. Damn uncomfortable couch.
"You wanna explain why it looks like I hosted a cult meeting in my kitchen?" Mike snaps, finally able to focus.
"Hey, you're the one who convinced Abby I'm a witch. Not my fault the promise of learning a spell is such an effective way of getting her to eat dinner."
Mike furrows his brow at that. You got her to eat dinner? Two nights in a row? That's an accomplishment. "...Fine. But please, clean up your mess next time. I have to take her to school in a couple hours, and if the table is-"
"Yeah, yeah. I'll clean it up. Let me get some coffee first, jeez." You brush him off and make your way into the kitchen. He still has the same shitty coffee maker that looks like it belongs in an antique store. And no creamer, because Mike hates joy.
"You want a cup too?"
"I shouldn't. Gotta go to sleep after I drop Abby off at school." He grunts from the other room, and you can hear him getting out of the old creaky recliner he loves so much.
"Ah. Night shift."
"Yeah. Night shift."
Mike shuffles into the kitchen and you both stand there awkwardly for a few moments as the coffee brews.
"You don't really look like you sleep, you know." You remark, taking in his ever-present eyebags for the hundredth time.
"Yeah, well, I do. Sleeping is just so... tiring." He scoffs, making light of the situation. He's telling the truth, though. Sleep for him is more of a project than real rest. His eyes glaze over as he gets lost in thought for a moment.
"You good, Mike?" He flinches as you place a hand on his shoulder. He wasn't expecting that from you.
"Yeah, uh, just..."
"Tired?"
"Yeah."
You sigh and decide to let it go, turning your attention to the mess on the kitchen table instead. He didn't owe you an explanation, especially now that you're not together, but it was still frustrating. He's obviously dealing with something, probably a lot of somethings, and he's too stubborn to admit it. That stubbornness is gonna be the end of him, you swear. It was what ended your relationship. Partially.
"Here, I'll help." Mike fumbles to help you pick up papers and crayons, colored pencils and candles. After a few minutes, it doesn't look like such a disaster.
"Oh, by the way." You pour yourself a cup of coffee, and start to stir in a few spoons of sugar. Too much sugar, for Mike's taste. "Abby's little blue dolphin stuffed animal is invisible to you now, got it? As long as it's in the house, grown-ups can't see it. I think she put it in your room to test you. Just ignore it."
"Is that what you two were doing?" Mike leans back against the counter and scoffs, but makes a mental note to ignore the little dolphin from now one. He'd humor her, if it meant she'd eat her dinner.
"I don't know? I panicked, okay? I had to think of something harmless but still believable and exciting for a little kid."
"And 'invisible stuffed animal' was the best you could think of?"
"This is a warning. Find a new goddamn babysitter or I'm teaching her curses next. And you have to play along."
Mike can't help but smile at that. A real smile.

It was a Sunday morning spent watching football with Frank. He sat on the couch holding the remote while you were lying down with your legs resting on his lap. He was busy watching the game and you were completely unaware of what was going on. He would cheer, curse at the TV, shout, and almost throw the remote.
“Fuck! What the fuck is up with this ref?” he said, throwing his hands around.
He was so serious, his brows furrowed and his body so animated. You try to tease him through his sweatpants, the heel of your foot lightly grazing his crotch. You twist and turn on the couch to show that you were just shifting for a more comfortable position, but the truth is you were focused on getting him hard.
“Babe,” he said. “What are you doing?”
“You’re so riled up with that game I figured you could ease up a bit,” You feel his crotch harden underneath your heel. You sit beside him, palming his growing erection. “It looks like it’s working though.”
He grunts, your middle finger drawing circles around his tip. You loosen the tie around his waist, putting your hand underneath the fabric to release his cock. It was thick, your fingers wrapping around the whole shaft. The tip was already red and leaking, your index finger spread the wetness all over to form some lubrication as you stroked it.
“Shit—,” Frank groaned.
You were about to take him in your mouth before the phone started to ring. Frank moved over to reach for the phone, his cock still bare. He answers the call–it was David Lieberman.
“Hey, what’s up.”
“There’s a problem with the site,” David said through the phone. You tried to back off—to let him finish before playing with his cock again; but the aching red tip was taunting you, practically begging for touch.
As they were discussing some work stuff you started to stroke his cock again. Frank’s eyes darted towards you enlarged with his brows furrowed. What the hell are you doing? He mouthed. You opened your mouth, saliva dripping like a clear string on his cock. You stroked him again before you took him in your mouth.
Frank grunted. “All good there boss?” David asked.
“Yeah yeah all good,” he cleared his throat. His hand went to the back of your head, guiding you as you tasted him.
Frank tried to stifle his groans, his grip on your head getting tighter. Your lips wrapped around his thick length, sucking in all the air as you bobbed up and down. His hips started to buck into your mouth, the tip of his cock hitting the back of your throat.
You pulled off from his cock with your lips making a popping sound. You gasped for air as David continued to ramble about money and costings. Frank pulled away from the phone to speak.
“Oh so now you want to pull away? Nuh-uh kid, go back at it,” he said, pulling your head back in.
Your eyes started to well with tears as he fucked into your throat, using your mouth like a toy for his pleasure. He continued to talk to David, almost as if you weren’t there. Your jaw started to sore, your lips dripping wet, and your back hunched over. Your crotch started to stir.
“Attaboy.”
You started to use your hands to stroke him, even fondling his balls. Your warm hands and wet mouth drew the hardest grunts from Frank. You could hear David ask him if he was okay.
“Yeah, just need a drink that’s all,” he said, clearing his throat. “Talk to the other guys, we’ll deal with this tomorrow.”
“Sure thing boss,” David said, dropping the call after.
You look up at him with teary eyes. He looks down at you with half-lidded eyes, patting your head like you just did a good job. He pulls you to his lap taking off your lower garments before straddling him. You align his tip with your hole, slowly sinking in. You held onto his broad shoulders for stabilization, his lips smirking as you wince in pain.
“Fuck—it’s too big,” you cry out.
“You the one who started this,” he said sternly. “You gotta finish it.”
He holds your waist, pulling you down on his erection as it stretches you open. You cry out once more, your nails digging into his skin as you try to stay calm. You started to move your hips, moving it in circles, his cock filling you to the brim. It was an immense pleasure, the heat from your body rises tenfold. You ride him faster and with more vigor, your eyes closing in.
He takes your chin to fix it in his gaze.
“Open your eyes when I fuck you,” he said, lifting you so he can move his hips into you. He was quick and rough, your brows twitching trying not to close your lids.
He lays you down on the couch so that he’s on top. His large arms above you as he fucked into your hole, your legs shaking and clenching in. You wrap your arms around his neck, moving your hips in sync with his. At that moment you felt your body join him, in complete synchronicity, both pleasure-bound.
“Frank—” you moaned out.
His lips let out hard grunts, his dark hair plastered across his forehead. You couldn’t stop admiring him. His stubbled face and his crooked nose. This man was all yours, to tease and to toy with, to fuck and to adore.
“You gotta cum for me alright,” he groaned. “Then I’ll cum inside you, yeah?”
He started to buck his hips, his biceps flexing and his hands more veiny. The pleasure was too much, it was sending a thousand shocks of electricity all over your body. Your vision started to darken, Frank started to grunt louder, his thrusts more erratic.
“Shit—shit,” Frank repeated as he hit his climax, spilling his cum inside you.
You came all over your chest, some on Frank’s. He collapsed on top of you after, his large body weighing on you. You kissed him on the cheek, patting his head.
“I think you missed the game,” you said, turning on to see that the game was done.
“Fuck the game, we’re not done yet.”
“What?”
“Yeah, this is your fault for teasing me,” he said nonchalantly. “Now go on your hands and knees, I’m fucking you again.”
interactions are greatly appreciated btw if u liked this fic and want more send me a prompt and i'd gladly make something from it :>

always here.
mike is surprised to see you on his doorstep in the middle of the night but doesn’t think twice about letting you in, especially once he sees the state you’re in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: mike schmidt x gn!reader
word count: 0.6k words
contains: (request) comfort, established relationship, no use of y/n, reader is sleepy and has had a rough night, mention of abby, “i didn’t know where else to go” kinda thing and that’s it.
a/n: sorry this was so short anon!! but i LOVED your request so much :3 thank you for sending it in <3 hope u enjoy it :)
You don’t have to knock for too long before Mike is opening the door, his other hand rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Hey, what’re you—“ he notices the clear distress on your face then and immediately he’s concerned.
“Can I stay here? I’m sorry, I had nowhere else to go and—“ you stammer over your words, an exasperated breath following. You forced yourself to breathe, you had to force yourself to breathe. To remember how to breathe.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, don’t worry. Come in.” He lets you in, closing the door behind you. You’re quickly embraced by him the moment the door is shut, and you do everything in your power to remain upright though Mike’s warmth is so comforting you could drown yourself in it.
A dim light hugs the two of you, Mike’s hands creating circular motions around your back soothingly. It’s quiet, oddly quiet—but it is midnight, so it’s not out of the ordinary. You’re never here around this time, and if you are you’re always tucked in beside Mike in his bed. But here? By the front door where the house is still at this time, no sound of Abby’s giggles or Mike’s soft and rare laugh. You don’t know why the thought alone forces more tears to well up in your eyes. Clearly you were extra sensitive tonight.
Mike can feel the way your body struggles, how you’re shaking slightly trying—struggling to hold back your tears. He pulls you back to properly look at you, his hands firmly on your arms to keep you up. You looked exhausted and Mike knew you all too well; you weren’t ready to talk just yet. “Wanna go to bed?”
You weren’t sure how Mike did it, how he always knew what you wanted, what you needed. You nod tiredly and start taking off your coat but Mike rushes to help you, hanging your coat with rest. He pulls out one of the dining chairs, “sit,” he gently instructs and instantly you follow his orders. He kneels down in front of you to help you with your shoes, slowly untying each shoelace, then carefully pulling them off. He stands up and neatly sets your pair along with the rest.
He looks at you then, frowning a little at how sleep deprived you looked and how sad you seemed. He’ll give you space but he would be lying if he said it didn’t worry him what could have you in such a state. He leans down to kiss your forehead before standing you up and leading you to his room. You’re both careful not to make too much noise since Abby was sleeping. He helps you into bed, handling you so carefully like if you were made out of glass. He crawls into his side of the bed, immediately scooping you up, your face tucking into the crook of his neck. You can feel his stubble on your skin, it tickles you just a little but it’s surprisingly comforting.
He continues to draw meaningless patterns on your back all while planting soft kisses on top of your head. “I’m here,” he mumbles, and you press up against him even more. He chuckles softly at your action, kissing you again, only holding you tighter. “I’m always here.” His voice is so groggy with sleep but his words are meaningful.
A few minutes pass and he knows you're asleep, soft snores coming from you, and Mike smiles happily that you’re peacefully asleep now. He loves you, he always has. He adores you like this, he adores you in every state, but right now he has you altogether, pressed up against him. He can feel himself slowly passing out, his eyes fluttering, he kisses your forehead one last time; “‘m always here.” He mumbles to you, eyes shutting completely, dozing off to the sound of you breathing.

Protective Mike headcanons! To the whole main cast because a lot of my Byler headcanons involve Mike being protective already why not!
Mike will cross his arms and pretend that he’s not paying attention to Max when she skateboards beside him but after that fall in s2 he’s always ready to reach out and stabilize her in a split second
If Mike has any leftovers, he always offers his food to Holly first if she’s still hungry
He also makes sure she’s never unheard at the kitchen table. Lord save the soul who dares to speak over Holly because Mike will roar at them to SHUT UP and then smile at Holly like so what were you saying? :)
Lucas loves birds just because I’m projecting - and Mike doesn’t really care about birds but if Lucas sees a cool one nearby Mike won’t let anyone scare the bird off so that Lucas can have his fun
Mike is basically a crosswalk guard when he’s with anyone when they hit a crosswalk. Boy is extending his arms and holding the other person/people back, making sure the road is clear before they walk.
Mike is a notoriously slow biker when someone’s riding with him. In danger, he’s booking it, but otherwise, he’s vigilant and tries to avoid rocky paths
If anyone gets hurt near Mike, he’s going to become their personal crutch until they can move independently, sometimes even to the point of irritation. Like someone could hurt a toe and walk fine but Mike is right under their arm like hey you okay? He did this a lot to Dustin before s4 because I said so
Mike’s a little clumsy but if he’s carrying something hot or delicate or the like, he’s using both hands and shooing anyone in his way so he doesn’t drop that thing and hurt anyone
Going off his adorable binder of Will’s drawings, Mike keeps his school notes and papers (surprisingly to Lucas and Dustin) organized to the point where he can carry comics in perfect condition before he gives them away
When it’s raining, Mike makes sure that raincoat hoods are being affixed if they keep flying down - he started doing this to everyone in The Party after doing it to Holly so much
Mike gets so angry if people talk shit about his friends. This is canon, but I like to imagine that it extends to their families, too. Like he’ll throw Hopper under the bus but he’s actually really adamant that he’s a good person. Same with Joyce. You will see him after class if you even make a “your mom” joke about her
Mike is first to point out if someone is hurt and figure out the who, what, when, where, and why it happened and make sure they’re safe (Will’s first to notice which then leads to Mike interrogating)

The Bet
Summary: Dustin cannot believe Eddie “The Freak” Munson has a girlfriend (as pretty as Galadriel, no less), and the boys seem to think the same. Max and Robin disagree, arguing that Eddie is, in fact, a catch. They decide to settle things once and for all through a bet.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Word count: 4,9k
Warnings: cursing
Notes: I'm absolutely in love with this one, it's honestly my pride and joy (at least so far). The idea for this one came to me during an Invertebrates class (should I have be paying more attention to the class? probably, but I did end up doing well overall in that subject, so). If you spot any mistakes, please feel free to warn me and I'll correct it right away, and feedback is always welcome and appreciated. I hope you truly enjoy this story.
This is part of a series, but most parts can be read as standalones (so far they are published in cronological order, but this will change).
Reader is female, but no physical descriptions provided (other than being gorgeous, that is!)

Tumblr media
“I call bullshit.”
“Dustin!” El exclaimed.
“There’s no fucking way you have a girlfriend!”
“Dustin.” El gritted her teeth “Don’t be mean.”
“What? I’m just saying” Dustin explained, completely unphased “that out of all the people sitting on this table, he is the least likely to have a girlfriend.”
“The same has been said about you and yet…” Max smirked in that sardonic way of hers, making the others laugh.
“Do not bring Suzie-poo into this!” the boy rolled his eyes, but his shoulders tensed in embarrassment.
Lunch time at Hawkins High was never a quiet affair. More often than not someone, most likely someone from their usual table (even more often than not that someone was Eddie), would be doing something rambunctious that would attract the attention of every other student in the cafeteria. They had all learned to ignore it and fully embraced their nerd/outcast situation, almost always wearing their Hellfire Club t-shirts. Today, Dustin was the one drawing attention to them, fervorously denying what he had just been told.
“Come on, people.” he opened his arms, gesturing around the table “Let’s face it. Other than Mike, Lucas and I, who already have girlfriends, the most probable person here to get a girl would definitely be Robin.”
“Ouch, Henderson,” Steve punched the boy next to him on the shoulder, with a little more force than necessary “uncalled for. And besides, all she does all day is mope about Vickie, without ever making a move.”
“Uh, actually” Robin piped up “I just asked Vickie out, we’re gonna watch Letter to Brezhnev this weekend.”
Steve groaned, while Dustin’s face conveyed something akin to ‘I told ya’.
“Actually, Eddie, I’ve been meaning to ask, if this whole thing between me and Vickie does work out, can I bring her to one of our sessions?”
“Be my guest.” the man, who was currently being talked about as if he wasn’t even there, answered, his smile never weavering.
“Guys, we’re losing focus here.” Dustin clapped his hands “Let’s get back to the matter at hand: Eddie, your so called girlfriend.”
“What about her?”
“Tell us more about her.”
Eddie’s smile grew impossibly bigger.
“She’s everything my humble heart could ever ask for.”
“Humble, yeah, right.” Steve scoffed, earning him a slap on the back of the head from Robin.
“She is immeasurably intelligent, infinitely kind and would never hesitate to help those in need. Not to mention, she is the most beautiful creature to have ever walked this Earth.”
“How beautiful are we talking?” Lucas asked.
“Galadriel level of beauty.”
A bunch of ‘wow’s and even an impressed whistle, courtesy of Robin herself, sounded from the group.
“What does that even mean?” asked Steve. Dustin narrowed his eyes at the older boy and didn’t even bother with an answer, before addressing his DM again.
"Bullshit! What’s her name?”
Eddie’s once dreamy smile turned mischievous.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Dustin scoffed.
“There is our answer. You are making her up.”
“No, I’m not.” Eddie said, a strange calmness in his voice.
“Yes, you are.”
“Why would I make her up?”
“I dunno, you are our DM, you literally come up with the most creative stories as a hobby, which, might I add, might as well be your side job at this point!”
“Why have you never introduced her to us?” Eleven asked, only slightly offended that her new friend hadn’t deemed them worthy of knowing the inner mechanisms of his private life.
Some people shook their heads in agreement.
“She works at the time of our campaigns.”
“How convenient.” Lucas exclaimed.
“If you really want to meet her so badly I’ll bring her around some day.” Eddie shrugged.
"How about this?” Dustin lowered his voice conspiratorially “10 bucks she’s made up and you’re bullshitting all of us.”
“Dustin!” Max hissed.
“I’m in.” Lucas said.
“Lucas!”
“Guys, don’t you think this is a little… cruel? Making a bet at someone’s expense?” El hesitantly pointed out.
Everyone looked in Eddie’s direction at the head of the table, whose face didn’t give anything away.
“Nah.” all the boys, excluding Will and surprisingly including Eddie, said.
“I’m with Dustin.” Mike said, to which El glared at him “What? Easiest money I’ll ever make in my life.”
“Make it 20 that not only she’s real, but she’s also gorgeous.” Robin chimed in.
“Thank you Buckley.” Eddie bowed his head at her.
“Seriously?” Steve almost shouted.
“What, Eddie is a pretty nice guy. If I wasn’t into…” she trailed off, glaring at Steve next to her as he mouthed the word ‘boobies’ “other things,” she emphasized “I’d definitely date him.”
“You are so on, Rob.” Steve indeed shouted this time “You’re going down.”
“El?” Mike asked his girlfriend.
“I don’t know. I’m not really comfortable doing this.”
“Me neither.” Will agreed.
“I’m with Robin on this one.” it was Max's turn to say.
“Alright!” Eddie grabbed a pencil and a rumpled sheet of paper (math’s homework, they noted) “It’s two against four: Buckley and Mayfield vs Harrington, Henderson, Sinclair and Wheeler. Should I mark 20 bucks for everyone?”
The boys, who originally opened the bet at $10 each, all agreed.
“So that makes the final prize a total of… $120.” he eyed all the people on the table with a mysterious grin, his voice morphing into the one he used while performing as Dungeon Master during their campaigns “Do you, my mighty Fellowship, accept this challenge?”
Everyone looked at Dustin, the one who had come up with all that mess, to seal their next step. He stood up and extended his hand for Eddie to shake.
“Hell yeah.”
Tumblr media
“I’m telling you, there is absolutely no way in this world, and in the Upside Down, that Eddie is telling the truth.”
Dustin was leading the group around downtown Hawkins on their way to the movie theater for a showing of Top Gun.
“Dustin, man, don’t you think this is going a little too far?” Will asked, a worried look crossing his features.
“I mean, why does he feel the need to lie to us like that?” Lucas interrupted “Not having a girlfriend is not something to be ashamed of.”
“Tell that to Steve.” Dustin smirked, high fiving his buddies, to which El, Will and Max rolled their eyes.
“Maybe because he isn’t lying?” Max said, crossing her arms, annoyed “Has that ever crossed your minds? And that maybe he hasn’t introduced her because you are simply too immature to handle it?”
Mike, Lucas and especially Dustin had the decency to look sheepish for a fraction of a second before diving right back on their shenanigans.
“I mean who in their right minds would date Eddie of all people?” Dustin changed the subject, making Max wave her arms incredulously, giving up.
“Why is it so hard to believe someone might be interested in Eddie?” El asked, half trying to defend her friend and half genuinely curious.
“Well, for one he’s an outcast.” Lucas said.
“So are we all.” Max retorted.
“He’s a freak with a very peculiar set of interests.” Mike gave his input.
“That doesn’t really mean anything, we all enjoy D&D and rock music as well.”
“And he’s on his way to have to do the senior year for the fourth time.” Dustin finished.
“Oh, come on, give the guy a break!” Max snapped “You know what he went through this year, it kinda makes sense that school wasn't his top priority.”
El nodded, agreeing.
“Besides” she said, a tilt to her head indicating she actually meant it “Eddie is a really nice guy and anyone would be lucky to date him.”
“Would you?”
“Would I what?”
“Date Eddie.” Mike told her “Would either of you date Eddie given the chance.”
Eleven and Max shared a look, not even hesitating before they answered.
“Yes.”
“Absolutely.”
“What?!” the boys asked in disbelief.
“He’s a really nice guy!” Max said, linking arms with El.
“He’s really funny.” El complemented, adding a skip to their step.
“And he’s pretty good looking.”
“His hair is cool.”
“And have you seen his tattoos?”
“He’s bitchin’.” El finished, smiling.
Mike and Lucas looked at each other, only slightly worried, while Dustin scoffed, shaking his head in disappointment.
Arriving at the theater, they went to buy the tickets.
“Okay, let’s entertain this crazy idea for a second and say she is real.” Dustin simply couldn’t let the subject go “What do you guys think she’s like?”
“Like him to some degree, otherwise they wouldn’t be together.” Lucas rushed in “They have to have a lot in common.”
After a moment of silence Mike spoke up.
“I could see Eden dating him.”
“Eden?” Dustin asked, perplexed “Suzie’s older sister? When did you- you know what? I don’t even wanna know.”
“But she’s dating Argyle now.” Will pointed out.
“True.”
They finally arrived at the snack booth, a familiar face behind the counter that they knew pretty well.
“Hey, look who it is! My favorite person in the whole world!” Dustin called your name very enthusiastically, a gigantic, very dramatic smile plastered on his face while he leaned his forearm over the counter “Whats up?”
“Flattery will get you nowhere, Henderson.” you rolled your eyes, already used to the boy’s behavior.
“But why?” he whined, head thrown back dramatically “You always give El an extra piece of candy every single time, how come she’s your favorite?”
“Whaaat? I do no such thing.” you retorted, sending a conspiratory wink in El's way “Even suggesting that is an offense to my honor.”
“Ugh, I’m so sorry, miss ‘do-no-wrong.”
You giggled. No matter how much it seemed to annoy you, you absolutely loved those kids and would do everything for them.
“Same as always?”
“You know us too well.” Mike answered.
While you went about preparing the kids’ snacks, they (read Dustin, Mike and Lucas) quickly created a game out of people watching, much to the annoyance of the rest of the group.
“What about her?” Lucas pointed out a girl, plain clothes and nothing truly remarkable about her appearance.
“Nah, they don’t seem like they really match.” Mike countered back before pointing to a stuck up looking girl who seemed annoyed to just exist “How about that one?”
The other boys looked the girl up and down before shaking their heads.
Dustin perked up when his eyes landed on someone coming out of a showing of Poltergeist II.
“What about her?!” he pointed out a woman in darker clothes, excitement lacing his voice “She seems like she would be perfect for him. Look, she even likes horror films!”
Max rolled her eyes so hard they almost popped out of the sockets.
“If he was interested in older women he would be drooling over Mike’s mom.” the corner of her lips lifted in a tiny smirk “How did you describe her? ‘Smoking hot like chicken wings’?”
Mike’s face turned red as he turned to face Dustin.
“What did you say about my mom?!” his next move would have surely resulted in an immeasurable amount of pain for Dustin (and probably a trip to the hospital) had you not intervened at that very moment.
“Alright! Here you go.” you started putting the snacks over the counter “Three large popcorns, one with extra butter, two large sodas, two medium sodas,” you then proceeded to hand the items one by one “Blue Raspberry Airheads for Will, Cry Baby Tears for Max, Gummi Bears for Lucas, Licorice Rockies for Dustin, Watermelon and Cherry Nerds for Mike and last, but not least, a packet of Spree for El.”
As you were sliding the packet towards El, the girl noted that you had given her a Caramello bar, hidden under the other candy. That had been something you had been doing ever since she had first stopped by the theater you work at; she had been mesmerized at the assortment of sweets on display and simply could not choose one. You had overheard her telling her boyfriend that she had never tried any of those, and you had made it your life’s mission to give her as much candy as you could without getting busted by your boss just so she could figure out her favorite kind. So far, nothing had beaten Spree. She smiled at you, grateful for what you’ve been doing for her.
“Hey!” Dustin also seemed to have noticed the interaction “I saw that!”
You and El looked at each other, suppressing a smile.
“Saw what?” Eleven asked, a deadpan look on her face that only made Dustin more exasperated.
After paying and balancing all their food, the kids started heading towards the movie rooms. As they were walking away you called after them.
“Good luck trying to defeat Lareth the Beautiful!” you waved and then added under your breath so they could not hear from the distance “You’re gonna need it.”
“Thanks!” they all responded in unison, not giving it a second though.
After a moment of playful banter, Eleven decided to address something that had been on her mind since they got to the movie theater.
“What about her?”
The others shot her a confused look.
“What about who?” Will asked.
She nodded her head back at the counter where you were wiping out fallen kernels and elaborated, though it ended up sounding more like a question.
“As Eddie’s girlfriend?”
The boys who were in on the bet looked at each other before bursting out in hysterical laughter.
“Her?!” Lucas sputtered out “Dating Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson?! Seriously El?”
“Little Miss Perfect, Goodie-Two-Shoes over there?” Dustin added “Who works at the nursing home during the week and volunteers at the animal shelter every other weekend?!”
“There is no way!” Mike doubled over.
“Never in a million years!”
“Absolutely not!”
El looked towards Will and Max for support, who only shrugged, as if having given up discussing the subject. But she didn’t miss the quiet look of agreement she saw crossing their faces.
Tumblr media
On the other side of town, a similar conversation would take place only a few hours later.
“I’m telling you, Rob” Steve said, placing a recently returned copy of The Empire Strikes Back in its respective place on the shelf “if I can’t keep a girl interested in me for more than a week, there’s no way Munson has a girlfriend!”
Robin hummed, rearranging the collection of Planet of the Apes in the correct order.
“That’s not saying much, you know that, right?” she snickered.
He rolled his eyes at what she was implying.
“Let the guy be, Steve.” she moved on to the next row “If he says he has a girlfriend, then he has a girlfriend. I don’t know why it’s so hard to believe that.”
“We go to the same school as him, right? I don’t know if you noticed but girls aren’t exactly throwing themselves at him.”
“I don’t know if you noticed, dingus, but he’s almost three years older than us. He’s supposed to have graduated by now. I’m pretty sure his girlfriend was in his original class or something.”
“But we were freshmen when he was a junior!” he threw his arms up “I’m pretty sure we would have noticed if he started getting cozy with someone!”
“Steve,” the girl gave him a sad, almost resentful smile “you didn’t even notice me before we started working together last year. You only had eyes for Nancy.”
Steve was quiet, for he knew she was right.
“That and you let those two dickheads Tommy and Carol infiltrate your mind and hypnotize you into becoming a jock!” she tried lighting up the mood, knowing she had hit a sensitive spot for him, which seemed to work as he chuckled.
Their bonding was interrupted by the sound of the little bell over the door, signaling a new client had just come in. Robin started the whole customer service speech while walking slowly towards the counter.
“Hi, welcome to Family Video, how may we help you?” she stopped short once she realized it was you “Hi! Oh my god, I haven’t seen you in a while, how are you?”
“Hey, Robin! I’ve been good, a little busy but what’s new?” both of you giggled, Robin with a bit more flare than necessary.
Steve watched the interaction with a strange kind of fascination.
“What can I get for you today?”
“Let’s see…” you tapped your chin, deep in thought before asking with a hopeful tone “Is Lady and The Tramp available?”
“I got it!” Steve typed it down on the computer “Lucky for you, m’lady, it is.”
Robin stared at him as if he had grown a second head while he retrieved the tape.
“Can I get a second one? I really wanted to watch The Three Caballeros, but I think it’s kind of mandatory to watch Saludos Amigos first.”
The girl checked in and sure enough, it was available. While she checked you out, Steve was busy putting your tapes in a bag.
“Make sure to drop by more often.” Robin said “It’s been so long, we have to catch up eventually!”
“Yeah, come hang out with us sometime!” Steve added, immediately wincing at his own lack of subtleness.
“Will do.” you waved at them and walked out of the store.
Robin slowly turned towards her friend.
“What was that?”
“I don’t know! I kind of panicked!” he rubbed a hand over his face “Who was that anyway?”
“Duh,” Robin stated your name “only the smartest, sweetest and most beautiful girl in school in forever? Straight A’s, always super nice to everyone, incredibly well dressed, kind of a nerd, but no one gave her too much of a hard time?”
Steve continued to stare blankly at her. She sighed, giving up.
“I had the biggest crush on her in sophomore year while she tutored me in math, but she left the following year and I almost flunked without her help.”
Steve shrugged, not really remembering you at all.
“Now that I come to think of it, she used to hang out with Eddie quite a lot back then.”
“No!” he stared at the door you had recently left through “Do you think…?”
“I don’t know!” she shrugged, a seemingly victorious smile spreading across her face “Maybe?”
They stood in silence for a second.
“There is no way a girl as sweet and as hot as her would be interested in Munson of all people!”
“Come on, Steve, that’s so mean!”
Tumblr media
Almost a month had passed since that fateful lunch break. Lucas and Mike eventually settled down and forgot about the whole ordeal, but Steve and, especially, Dustin were relentless. Everyday they would bring up the subject of Eddie’s girl, to the point where the other members of Hellfire Club were starting to get annoyed.
“So, Eddie,” Dustin started accusingly, “where is that imaginary girlfriend of yours today?”
Everyone groaned.
“How many times do I have to tell you this?” Eddie rolled his eyes and rubbed both hands down his cheeks “She’s working!”
“At night? In the middle of the week?” Steve added, suspicion is his voice.
“She’s fresh off training so she gets the worst shifts.” Eddie explained, getting kind of tired of the matter.
“Hey, Steve?”
“Yeah, Henderson?”
“You know what that sounds to me?”
“What?”
“A bullshit excuse!” Dustin shouted, pointing his finger in Eddie’s face.
“Uhm excuse me.” a voice sounded from the end of the table “If you two old ladies have finished your daily 3 pm gossip over the window, can we go back to the game? How are we supposed to defeat Lareth if all you do is bicker all day long?!” Erica, who occasionally joined the party if she didn’t have too much homework, piped up, annoyed.
Dustin mumbled, clearly not done talking about it, when an idea struck him all of a sudden, making him punch the table, rattling all of the metal figurines.
“What the fuck was that for, Dustin?!” Max asked, startled, a look of angered surprise on her face that matched that of almost everyone there.
“S-sorry.” he answered, only slightly embarrassed “I-I’m just- excited to maybe finally defeat Lareth?”
He winced, not sounding the least bit convincing even to himself, but the others seemed to have bought it for now.
After the game, in which they hadn’t, in fact, managed to defeat Lareth the Beautiful and frankly almost got all killed trying to do so, Dustin pulled Erica aside, out of earshot from the others, especially Eddie.
“What do you want?” she hissed.
“I need a favor.”
“What makes you think I’d help you?” she crossed her arms petulantly.
“Please?”
She sighed and nodded for him to go on.
“I need you to spy on Eddie for me.”
“Uh, why?”
“We have a bet. He says he has a girlfriend, I think it’s bullshit. Steve, Mike and Lucas agree with me, while Robin and Max, the fools, think this girl is actually real.”
“And what do you need me for?”
“Follow him around, I don’t know. He would never suspect, you’re not part of the bet. Just try and prove that he’s actually lying to all of us”
She thought for a long moment.
“What’s in it for me?”
“What?” he squeaked.
“What’s in it for me?” she repeated with a smug expression “What do I get out of helping you?”
Dustin sighed.
“You can keep my share.”
Erica’s eyes widened and her jaw dropped open.
“Honestly? At this point I just want to prove I’m right. Join in, make the total amount larger and you can keep both yours and my share of it.”
She extended a hand for him to shake.
“It’s a pleasure doing business with you.” and she skipped away to catch up with Lucas.
Tumblr media
Dustin hadn’t heard from Erica since their conversation and his faith in her was beginning to waver. A couple more weeks went by before the girl finally joined the Club once more.
“Eddie.” was the first thing she said the minute she sat down in front of the board game “I heard there is a bet of sorts going around.”
“Yes there is, Sinclair the Second.” the man answered and, having a feeling where the conversation was going, grabbed the paper he previously wrote all the names (and it looked somehow even more crumpled than before).
“I’d like to join in.” she said, a large grin on her face.
“It’s $20 per person-” Eddie started explaining before she cut him off.
“Actually I’d like to add 30 bucks.” she said decisively.
Most people around the table looked at each other, impressed and apprehensive at the same time. Dustin on the other hand, nodded victoriously towards his buddies.
“Alright, I have to admit you’re bold, Sinclair the Second.” Eddie did the math “So that increases the final prize to $150. Which side are you joining?”
Erica looked towards Dustin, who discreetly nodded at her.
“I think she’s real.”
Dustin’s jaw dropped.
“Wh-aat?!” his voice cracked from surprise.
“I just don’t see why Eddie would lie, that’s all.” she shrugged nonchalantly.
Dustin shot her a murderous look while Eddie scribbled down her name alongside Max and Robin’s.
“That sure is a good thing. Because she was just talking about requesting to change shifts with a coworker who’s said something about wanting to take more care of his cat during the day.” Eddie finished writing with a flurish “So you might get to meet her pretty soon.”
“Yeah, right.” Lucas snickered, which prompted an elbow to his ribs from Max.
The game proceeded without much hitch after that. After the fiasco that was trying to defeat Lareth the Beautiful the last time everyone was a little apprehensive in trying to take him out again, that was, if they could even find where he lived. But, in a move of sheer luck, Eleven managed to figure out his hideout after scoring 17 while searching an abandoned moathouse. Now all they had to do was attack.
“But I must warn you, my fellow adventurers,” Eddie spoke, his low voice smooth and mysterious while his eyes roamed the face of everyone in the room “every action has consequences. Think through before you strike, for you might not come out of this alive.”
El, who had been feeling brave after a succession of favorably high rolls (which may or may not have had something to do with her powers when she felt she was going to score too low, but you’d never get that out of her as long as she lived), decided to speak up.
“I say we go for it.” everyone stared at her wide eyed “What? We had a lot of time to prepare, everyone has their health full and all their best weapons… we already lost once, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“She’s right.” Lucas agreed, grabbing the dice “Who wants to start?”
“I will.” Steve decided “I’m the weakest of us all, that way if something happens to me you still have a chance to escape and get stronger.”
“No, Steve.” Robin argued.
“No one gets left behind.” Max concluded “I’ll go first.”
“No, I will.” Mike tried ripping the dice out of Max’s hands.
“Come on, let me go first.” El tried to speak, but suddenly the metal doors squaked open, silencing everyone in the room.
Shyly, someone poked their head inside.
“Hey!” you spoke from your place by the door “I hope I’m not too late?”
Eddie practically jumped out of his throne.
“Sweetheart!” he boomed, opening his arms “You are just in time! They are just about to face Lareth the Beautiful.”
“Again?” you asked, fully stepping inside the room.
“For good this time.” he answered with a mirthful smirk. “What are you doing here?”
“Mrs. Johnson let me off earlier from the nursing home. I managed to swap shifts with Mateo, so now I can come to your campaigns!”
Walking closer to the table, everyone gawked at your sudden appearance. You stopped beside the DM’s throne, but Eddie was quick to pull you sideways into his lap, where you landed giggling like a maniac. Turning your head over your shoulder, you pressed a light peck on his lips.
“No way…” Lucas gaped, shaking his head.
“Yes way.” Max retorted, nodding mesmerized.
“Hah!” Robin slapped both her hands on the table, pointing a finger at Steve in front of her.
Confused, you stared at Eddie, whose smile has never looked more smug.
“What is going on?”
“It is you?!” Dustin stood up so quickly his chair scraped on the floor before tumbling backwards onto the floor.
“Is what me?”
“You’re his girlfriend?” Steve started in awe, feeling a tiny pang of hurt on his chest.
“Uh, yeah.” you nodded, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“How?” Mike all but shouted, Eleven smiling triumphantly at his side.
You and Eddie shared a look.
“You know, Wheeler,” Eddie started, smirking “when two people love each other-”
His speech was interrupted by a chorus of repeated ‘woah’s, Steve rushing to cover Erica’s years, Robin doing the same for El, all the while you chuckled at your boyfriend’s antics .
“There are children here, man.” Steve hissed.
“No, I mean it.” Dustin shook his head in disbelief “Why are you dating him ?”
“I told you would never believe me.” Eddie explained.
Your laughter turned into a dreamy smile.
“Eddie is such a sweetheart. He’s charming, he makes me laugh. And I know I can always count on him no matter what. I know he’ll always be there for me.” you beamed softly at him, before turning back to the party, a playful grin on your face “And it doesn’t hurt that he’s incredibly attractive.”
Dustin made a gagging noise while Eddie playfully flicked his hair over his shoulder.
“I mean, who could resist my witful charms, Henderson?”
Erica turned towards her brother, Dustin, Mike and Steve, a proud look on her face.
“Pay up, losers.” she made a come hither motion with her hand “I believe the four of you owe us $50 for each of us.”
She high-fived Robin and Max.
Dustin stared at her, a look of betrayal taking over his features.
“You agreed you’d help me.” he accused.
“No” she said matter-of-factly “I agreed to spy on Eddie for you. And I did.”
Eddie let out a fake gasp, holding an offended hand over his heart.
“You asked Sinclair the Second to spy on me?!”
Dustin held a hand up.
“That’s besides the point.” he turned back to Erica “What happened?”
“I spied on him, just like you asked. And what I found was the both of them” she nodded her head in your direction, where you were still draped over your boyfriend’s legs “being all lovey-dovey with one another. Y’all are just too dumb to see it.”
Dustin shook his head as if he still couldn’t believe it.
“Now that we’ve gotten this out of the way” Eddie’s voice suddenly shifted to the one he used as Dungeon Master “are you ready to take on Lareth the Beautiful once and for all?”
Everyone around the table shouted words of agreement and encouragement, including you. Dustin quickly grabbed the dice, ready to go first. He raised his arms, hands cupped around the dice, and started shaking them. Every member of the club, and now you, stared at him in anticipation, before he hesitated.
“Seriously, though, what do you see in him?”
“Dustin!”

The warm, musky, smoky scent that always seemed to hang onto Eddie was keeping the anxiousness building within your gut down at the moment. Over the last few days, your nerves became more and more shot. Hopper was pressing harder on training, planning, and strategizing. Each night you dropped down into Eddie’s bed like a dead weight. You were ignoring the fact that your body wasn’t fully healed from before.
If you made it out alive, you could rest then.
You sat at the table hearing the low vibration of conversations around you. Your side was pressed tightly against Eddie’s with his arm wrapped around you. The food in front of you was more picked over than eaten at all. Looking around the table you watched as others spoke to one another.
Robin teased Steve as usual. Jonathan and Argyle were in some deep conversation at the end of the table, too far to really hear what they were saying. Eddie, Gareth, Dustin, and Mike were in some deep debate over something to do with D&D. You weren’t really paying attention enough.
“We having a bonfire tonight?” Gareth asked, drawing your attention back to them. “You know…before everything?”
“Should everyone get a good night's sleep?” Mike asked, his eyes darting around the cafeteria.
“Don’t think anyone is going to be doing much sleeping tonight, Wheeler,” Eddie spoke, pushing away his tray with a heavy sigh. The weight of everything came down heavy over the table.
You were no longer the only one lost in the worry and fear of what tomorrow was going to bring.
“We can still do it,” You spoke softly from beside Eddie, forcing a small smile onto your face. “Better to be together, for those that want to?”
“I like that idea,” Robin spoke up, everyone else at the table now turned toward the rest of you. “Cause I know for a fact I’m not going to be sleeping much tonight. Would be alone in my dorm room anyway.”
Robin sent a playful glare your way, which caused heat to move up your body and settle on your cheeks.
Everyone stood from the table and moved together to exit out of the Lab and out back where Gareth and Eddie’s trailers were settled. Eddie reached down and grabbed your hand tightly, keeping you closer to his side as the two of you walked.
“Are you ok?” Eddie whispered softly, so the two of you would be in your own conversation, everyone lost in their own.
You looked up at him and could see the worry clear over his expression. Tension clear between his brows, “Are any of us ok?”
Eddie let out a soft, humorless chuckle, “No. I guess that was a stupid question.” He paused and took a deep breath. “Just…noticed you barely ate and have been quieter than usual.”
“Not really hungry,” You shrugged slightly, “Can’t really think much about anything. It’s like the nervousness is filling my stomach enough.”
“Promise me tomorrow you’ll force something? I don’t want you going out there on an empty stomach,”
“I-I…” You pressed your lips tightly together, “Don’t make me promise anything, Eddie. Please.”
“This one thing,” Eddie spoke firmly, a tone of begging to his voice. “I won’t ask of anything else.”
You sighed heavily and slightly nodded your head giving Eddie the answer he wanted. By the time the two of you joined the others at the pit outside Eddie and Gareth's trailers, a fire had already started, and the others were sitting around. Gareth had pulled out the whiskey he’d pulled out the night you were reunited with them. Another old glass jar was placed into your grasp, a shot already inside, as you took a seat on one of the logs around the fire.
“A toast,” Gareth spoke, raising his drink up, “To the last night we might all possibly be together,” He spoke somberly “I hope to see all your faces come back through tomorrow – but just in case…it’s been real.”
“Not morbid at all, dude,” Argyle spoke before knocking back his drink, everyone else around him doing the same.
“He’s not wrong,” You spoke up, feeling the burn of the whiskey move down your throat before warming within your belly. “We could all come back tomorrow, but…the reality is we might most likely all won’t.”
“We can’t go into it with that mindset,” Steve spoke up, his eyes connected with yours. A stern, authoritative, firmness behind them that made you shrink back slightly. “We have to go into that we’re all coming back, and we’re killing every single one of those assholes.”
While everyone around you cheered and seemed to toast to that – you sat in silence. Looking down at the amber liquid as your head, and heart seemed to battle and keep you sitting in a sort of limbo. On one hand, you wanted all of them dead, these were the same group that killed your entire camp, your mother. Your best friend. But on the other hand, now that you knew Wendy, was amongst them – you didn’t know what to think. You didn’t want her dead. If anything, you wanted her to come back with you all. But after the attack, she took part in, that was never going to happen.
“What were the scouts able to find out about these cowards?” Jonathan asked, your mind drawing back to the group around you.
“They have a leader, some dude named Henry Creel. Can’t really find out much about him for obvious reasons. But he’s tall and blonde. He walks around like he’s the King or some shit so it’s not hard to point him out.” Steve spoke.
“He’s fuckin’ creepy looking.” Robin shuttered “Has these deep-set blue eyes that are just cold. Scary seeing him through the binoculars.”
“Learned a few of others that seem to be high in power, or at least, Creel trusts.” Steve continued, “Some dude named Neil, another named Billy – Billy looks like his son honestly.”
“How large is this group?” Dustin asked.
“Not much bigger than ours, but with how they move, it’s our disadvantage.”
“We also aren’t 100% sure if they were coming or not,” Eddie spoke up, his arm wrapped around you as he pulled you tighter into his chest. “We could be going in and they are fully prepared.”
“Why don’t we stop talking about this and forget for the rest of the night,” Robin spoke “I’m sick of the impending doom cloud that’s been hanging over us these last few weeks…ever since Nancy died.”
Tumblr media
“Come on, let’s go to bed,” Eddie whispered into your ear.
You nodded your head gently and allowed Eddie to help you up from your seat. A few of the others had dissipated and went back to their beds. Gareth, Argyle, Dustin, and a couple others were the only ones sitting at the fire. Eddie guided you up into his trailer and pulled the door closed behind him. The two of you didn’t speak, but moved in sync, as you slowly undressed.
Eddie came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. His warm lips pressed against your chilled skin with small kisses. It caused your body to erupt with goosebumps. You closed your eyes and seemed to relax back into him more, feeling his bare chest against your back, his calloused fingers exploring your body. You let out a soft and gentle moan as his fingers teased your nipple, pinching it gently.
Eddie slowly turned you in his arms and pressed his lips to yours with his hand gently caressing your face. When he pulled back, neither of you spoke, just continued to undress the other. Eddie brought his hands up to gently touch your face, staring down at you with so much love, it made your chest tighten slightly. He bent down and pressed a kiss to your forehead, then your cheek, before settling on your lips.
“Come ‘ere baby,” Eddie whispered against your lips before leading you to the back of the trailer, moving you down to lay across the rumbled sheets of his bed.
*smut 18+*
You reached out and grabbed for him, pulling him over your body, needing to feel him against you. It was like the moment he was even out of reach; your body craved him. Eddie slowly moved up your body as he placed kisses along your scared skin. You couldn’t keep your eyes off of him, squirming slightly beneath him, as the ache between your legs grew. As Eddie wrapped his lips around your peaked nipple, sucking and rolling his tongue, his hand moved down between you. His fingers teased against your slit before thrusting two fingers. You moved your hips down against his hand, needing more, the stretch of his fingers not enough.
“…please, please…Eddie, please,” You begged, pawing at his chest lightly.
Eddie liked watching your face whenever he was pleasing you, hearing the soft whimper and moans coming from your swollen lips. The faces you made as he watched you.
“What baby?” Eddie spoke softly, moving up to press a kiss along your jaw. With your head tilted back against the pillows, it gave him better access to your neck. “Tell me what you need.”
Your hand moved and fisted through his dark curls, pulling on them, to bring him back over you. Your lips brushed against his slightly – barely touching. His thumb added pressure to your clit with his fingers moving a little faster. Your breath got caught in your throat for a moment before a raspy whimper of his name came from you. The erotic sound of his fingers between your legs could be heard along with your moans. Your slick moving down between your cheeks and spreading between your thighs.
“You…you, please…oh-fu..fuck,” Your fingers tightened with the sheets beneath you, knuckles turning white.
Eddie could feel that you were close with how you were tightening and fluttering around his fingers. But just before he could send you over the edge, Eddie pulled his fingers out. You gasped at the feeling of him moving away from you, your eyes widening slightly. But before you could mutter a word of protest, you watched as Eddie brought his fingers to his mouth, before sucking on them. You watched as his tongue moved along his slender digits, sucking your slick off of them, and moaning as he did so.
“…Eddie,” You spoke with a breathy whimper, your hand still fisted within his curls.
Eddie smirked slightly before bending down to press a kiss to your lips, his tongue moving against yours so you could taste yourself. He shifted between your legs, Eddie reaching down between you both, rubbing his cock against your slit. Your hips moved up to meet with him before Eddie thrust deep inside of you – slowly. Your hand moved around to move down his back, your nails dragging along his pale skin, as you felt the stretch of him inside of you.
He pressed his body against yours holding himself up slightly on his elbows, rolling his hips against yours. The two of you moved together tenderly, with caressing touches, and soft kisses. Neither of you wanted this moment to be over quickly. You needed to feel one another because the truth of tomorrow still hung there.
“God, you feel so good sweetheart,” Eddie whimpered, pushing back slightly as he started to move faster, looking down to watch as his cock disappeared into you. Between you an erotic mess that both of you seemed to create. “…can’t get enough of you f-fuck,”
You whimpered as you felt the knot within you tighten more and more, knowing that you were going to cum.
“Eddie,” You spoke, nails digging deeper into his biceps.
“I know, pretty girl, I know,” Eddie spoke caressing your face softly, you leaned into his touch, “Can feel you…feel this perfect fuckin’ pussy squeezin’ around me” Eddie snapped his hips harder against you, hitting that sweet spot inside of you, making you moan and gasp for him louder. “Give it to me, I wanna feel you – want to feel this sweet pussy cum,”
Hearing his words and moans was enough to send you over. You fisted the hair at the back of his head, pulling him back to you, as you fell over the edge. The heels of your feet digging into his lower back to draw him deeper into you. Eddie pulled away and pressed his forehead against yours as the two of you panted softly.
**
“Fuck, I love you,” Eddie spoke, his dark eyes looking down at you intensely, his thumb rubbing against your cheek as he held your face.
“I love you,” You smiled before pecking his lips gently.
Neither of you said more, not needing to. Instead, Eddie moved gently from between your legs before getting out of bed. He came back with a wet cloth and cleaned between your legs before tossing it off to the side. He crawled back into bed and pulled the blanket over the two of you, encasing your bodies in warmth. You went right back to his side and nuzzled your face into his neck as he held you. The two of you lay there in silence, the wind hitting against the trailer, as Eddie moved his hand up and down along your back.
As much as you hoped, the sweet relief of sleep wouldn’t be coming to you easily tonight.
Tumblr media
The day was heavy, you felt it the moment you woke up, it seemed to wrap around your shoulders and weigh you down.
You and Eddie moved through the motions of the morning.
The two of you opt to eat in the trailer and join the others at the cafeteria. Holding to your promise, you ate a little bit of food. Only really having the stomach for a couple pieces of toast. Eddie had taken some bread from the pantry that was baked earlier in the week.
Before you knew it the sun started to go down which meant it was time to get ready and meet at the front. Eddie dressed in his usual attire – his dark jeans, leather jacket, bandana wrapped around the lower half of his face with his dark curls pulled back from his face. After putting his hoots on, he slipped one of his knives inside and grabbed his pack. Your attire wasn’t far off from his – you wore all black as well with one of your old jackets. You grabbed your sheath and strapped it to your thigh and placed your knives inside.
The two of you left the trailer and moved toward the front of the labs where everyone seemed to be waiting. Hopper stood at the gate with his arms crossed at his chest and a darkened look on his face. Weapons were passed out along with ammunition if needed. A holster sat on your hip with a pistol inside as a shotgun was strapped across your back.
Amongst the crowd, you spotted Robin who was standing off to the side with Steve. It wasn’t long till her eyes shot up and connected with yours – both of you giving the other a small smile. You wished that you were grouped with all your friends, so you could see for yourself that they were all safe. But you were lucky to even be placed with Eddie – something you were sure he asked Hopper for.
“Now!” Hopper spoke loudly, his voice booming over the crowd and causing everyone to stop and look in his way. “We are about to embark on something that his group had never had to do before. But I have all the faith that we will achieve what we all want by the end of tonight. I want everyone to be vigilant…be safe…and watch each other’s backs. I know I am asking a lot of you tonight. But in the end, it was for the better of this camp. They have taken too much from us. We do this for Nancy, Sarah, and any other life that was lost due to these monsters.”
From the corner of your eyes, you saw Eddie look down at you for a moment, reaching over to squeeze your hand tightly.
“Everyone is to sweep through their planned parts of the old mall, never end a section alone! Once your area has been cleared, move on to the next till we all meet in center court. We don’t fully know what we’re expecting – but let us come out as the victors.”
Everyone around you seemed to let out a roar or cheer of some sort, causing you to jump slightly. The people atop the gate slowly pulled it open before the large group of fighters started to pour out – some marching off to the left with Enzo and the others to the right with Hopper. You kept close to Eddie as the two of you moved with the group that was going off to the right. Each step you took caused your heart to jump more and more up into your throat.
“How about when all of this done, we got back to Ricks? Get away for a few days?” Eddie asked, his voice low as he spoke to you.
“Ricks?” You questioned, “Yeah, yeah that sounds good.”
Eddie smiled slightly, but this time, it didn’t reach his eyes like usual. “It’s a date then baby,”
You nodded your head and tried to force a smile onto your face, reaching for his hand and holding onto it tightly again. Finding peace in feeling the warmth of his hand in yours.
Ok! Ok! I am so sorry for this long pause between updates. I had a lot going on these last two weeks. Work, family, other shit - but I am back. The next chapter is going to be all battle. I was gonna place it here with this chapter but a nearly 6k+ word chapter seemed like a lot! If you enjoyed it, please like + reblog, it really helps! Come and chat or comment I love seeing people's views on the chapter updates! Hopefully, the smut wasn't too bad - but I wanted Reader and Eddie to have a moment before death, violence and zombies came back into the picture!

Comfort
(Eddie Munson x Female Reader x Steve Harrington)
Tumblr media
Summary: Mother Nature is a bitch, and well, so are you. Until your boyfriends decide to help out a little…
Pairings: Steddie x Fem!Reader
Word count: 2,757
Warnings: Language, NSFW, bodily fluids, anxiety, thrupple fighting, blood, period stuff, period sex, vaginal sex, obvious threesome, tooth rotting fluff & comfort, and MORE!
A/N: You know, I can’t ever write a fic with the general idea in mind, and stick to it. I always have to develop additions along the way. Anyways, I’m gonna try and keep this one short, and I hope it makes sense, lol. It started out as comfort and I decided to just go for it, so if period sex/blood in smut is not your thing—AVOID! I also couldn’t decide between the two men, thus I am doing a three way again!
The feedback on She’s Trouble has been immaculate and astounding to me! I thank all of you so much, with all my heart! I’m sorry I couldn’t reply to everyone, it was just a lot! But I saw every comment and tag! 💘🥹
Also, I’m not using tags, because I don’t know who will and will not be comfortable with this kind of content!
I hope y’all enjoy this?! <3 - Kristen

You tried to be still at the Wheeler’s kitchen table, you really did. Listening to Nancy get lost in a speech about her latest editorial, Robin hyping her up on the sidelines, and the kids throwing popcorn at each other in the living room, with Mike bitching about it getting in the carpet and pissing his mom off. Your heels haven’t touched the floor since you began bouncing your feet about ten minutes ago, fingers fighting twitching urges to staple themselves to your temples. There’s probably a sour look of disgust on your face, but you’re starting to pass that point where do not you care. With the last dousing of humid air over Hawkins, Indiana, you feel as if your entire core temperature is a blazing inferno.
Combine that with the lacking effects your morning shower had to keep you cooled down, and you make for one pissed off person. You roll your eyes at your own dramatic antics, squirming in the seat and causing it to make a shifting squeak. It must be louder than you heard, as Nancy is questioning you. “Hey, you okay, Y/N?”
Dear god in Heaven, why is she drawing attention to me?
You fold your arms across your chest, tucking them neatly, teeth grinding as you force out, “I’m fine, Nance.”
“You don’t look fine. You actually, kinda look like you’re about to puke.” Robin interjects, hand draped across the chair adjacent to yours.
If you could move without that disgusting flood between your legs, then you would probably kill your best-friend for stating the obvious.
“Who’s gonna vomit?” Comes a deep voice that takes his place beside Nancy, who now has her brows knit in concern. Steve.
And wherever he goes, Eddie has followed, as of lately. You’re clenching your lids closed, head bowing, hands resting across your heated cheeks. When you look up, Eddie has that stupid shit eating grin on his face that you can’t decide if you want to punch or kiss. An automatic shared stare is directed your way, making you sink under its observation, nausea growing.
Steve speaks first, noting your disheveled appearance. There’s sweat beading all over your face, tension in your normally relaxed muscles, and you give an air of a trapped animal. He frowns, moving around the table and readying his large hand to place on your forehead. You quickly dart off, waving your hands. “How about no, dude?”
Dude? Since—
“when do you call Harrington a dude, baby?” Eddie cuts Steve’s internal questioning, confusing himself.
“When he starts crowding my personal space, Edward. That’s when.” You snap, Nancy clicking her tongue as the wheels spin in her head and she lands on knowing exactly what is going on with you.
Eddie’s jaw unhinges in a comical pry, hand splaying across his heart. “Okay, now that was just nasty.”
“Um, do I look at all like I care?” Hands on your hips, that crowded anxiety begins tangoing with your hormones, anger seeping from your pores like acid.
You know your mood towards them is irrational, you are too aware. But there’s a devil on your shoulder that goes by Aunt Flo, and she’s getting her kicks by pulling your strings.
“Okay, that’s enough. What is going on with you?” Steve raises his deep voice a few octaves, annoyed and defensive of himself and your shared partner.
Ever-changing moods, guilt swells in your chest, carving out its permanent residence for the next several days. Your vision blurs and you clamber from your seat, apologizing to Robin and Nancy, before walking over to where Eddie and Steve stand side by side, your fingers brushing over their hands, voice barely above a whisper. “M’ sorry. I just wanna go home, please.”
Eddie is perturbed. It was his week to pick out the restaurant for date night, and you’d all planned on driving over there after your excursion at the Wheelers. And now you’re acting like he and Steve are dog shit on your shoes. He’s nauseated.
Nancy is quick to catch you in a hug before you can leave, rubbing up and down your shoulders, her voice by your ear. “They might be guys, but I’m pretty sure they’ll understand if you tell them what’s going on.” She pecks your cheek and gives you another squeeze, sliding back and away, dropping off with an, “I’ll call you later, okay?”
You’ve never been more grateful for her and that mutual understanding.
~*~
The ride back to your house is silent. You’d opted for the backseat of Steve’s BMW, leaving your boyfriends up front with each other, stealing glimpses of your exhausted face in the rear view. When you do arrive at your cul-de-sac, you linger on the door handle, partially expecting them to object to your retreat. Eddie, whom can read you like a fucking textbook he’d studied three times over in school—isn’t having it. You can’t blame him.
“We’re goin’ on the date. You can stay home and mope and bitch at the wall. We’ll bring you somethin’ back later.” He’s got his hands folded across his black t-shirt clad chest, opting to cast his gaze elsewhere as you silently remove yourself from the car, heart being pulverized beneath your breast.
“No, it’s okay. Don’t… just don’t worry about it, yeah?” It comes off jagged and fragmented, versus how you wanted it to sound—reassuring and strong.
You watch them both in the beginning stages of blurred vision. Steve is holding onto the wheel tightly, his expressions fighting for dominance—ones that you can’t decipher in the moment. Anger or defeat, maybe? You nod, at who, you aren’t sure. You wring your fingers together.
“Well, okay. Be safe and have a good time.” As if Aunt Flo didn’t destroy your entire day, she up and leaves you for vacation, obliterating all your previous anger.
Stupid fucking hormonal bitch.
“I love you.” Comes off your lips in a softness that is directed at them both.
Eddie does seek you out then, nostrils flaring, chocolate irises softening. Steve opens and closes his mouth, words caught. You don’t stay behind to embarrass yourself any longer.
~*~
Cramps that are absolutely devouring your insides, you figure that’s a good punishment for your attitude today. Tylenol, nor the heating pad are helping, and your migraine has only worsened since you got off the phone with Nancy and an apologetic Robin, who made enough ‘crimson tide’ jokes to take you into the next century. Smoothing things over with them eased some anxieties, but you can’t stop thinking about how your boys are enjoying the date that Eddie was so excited about. Is it a burger joint that will be followed by chocolate shakes and handcuffs? Or maybe it’s a fancy little pizzeria and some cheap wine, with Eddie’s finest stash and his sinfully gifted mouth?
Whatever it is, it’s your fault that you’re not partaking. Scrubbing a hand across your tear stained eyes, you discard the heating pad and opt for some good ol’ fashioned sulking in your room. However, you don’t make it to the stairs before your front door is being unlocked and opened by the spare key, making you swallow in fear, uncertainty about who is there, until sunsets’ golden hues cast a halo around Steve Harrington’s beautiful face, his form framed in your doorway. His chestnut locks are discombobulated, but those freckles are crystal clear consolations. When he drinks you in, you immediately run into his embrace, his biceps flexing to hold onto the bags in each hand, letting them go, not even seconds later, enfolding you in a cocoon of: aftershave, Eddie’s lingering cigarette smoke, cologne, and freshly washed clothing. Steve.
You bury your face in his baby blue Henley, cheek tickled by wisps of chest hair that peeks out from a few undone buttons. He begins rubbing your back, strong hands kneading that specific tension at your tailbone, a moan dipping off your lips at the muscular relief. You mewl into him, his hands cupping your cheeks as you pull away with closed eyes, head tilted back.
“There we go, honey.” He’s praising, thumbpads scraping your cheekbones, down to your jawline. “What a good-fucking-girl.”
Broken syllables are uttered from you, a diaphragm depth voicing of neglected need, staved off by hormones. Steve knows what words and phrases get your bones dusted to ash, your body a pile of goo. And through a confusing midst, you’re worried about having to turn away his implications. These kinds of sensual conversations always lead to you underneath your boyfriend, cunt stuffed full of his fat cock, tears cooling in your lash line, Eddie encouraging Steve to fuck you just a little past your limit, because that limit is heightened each time. But right at this very moment… you can’t.
You feel the shiver overtake you, and Steve holds you closely again, fingertips striking goosebumps alive along the expanse of your arms.
“Leave me with half the load out here, Harrington. And look at this? Hogging our girl, dude?” Eddie interrupts, a little winded and depositing more grocery bags in your doorway beside Steve’s feet. His repeating your earlier phrase—sans malice or biting sarcasm, it has you grinning, making Eddie help himself to wrapping his arms around you from behind.
Eddie’s spicy and earth scent, cluttered with that cigarette smoke off his fresh pack, it collides into Steve’s, rendering you into that overlapping heap of stupid slut. And your little shits, they know. It’s what has you trying to pull away, remembering your situation. Eddie knocks his knuckles beneath your shirt, caressing and massaging that same spot Steve had pinpointed. You’re whimpering, pleading. “Don’t. I can’t right now, Eds.”
And if you thought Eddie Munson couldn’t surprise you anymore in this lifetime, you’d be damned for eternity. His lips find the shell of your ear, that smirk that causes his teeth to graze your lobe. It works itself off his tongue, hot and offered. “A little blood won’t stop the fun, sweetheart.”
Your eyes widen so hard that a protesting sting takes place in the muscles. You want to bury yourself in the floor and never come out, sidestepping their holds and becoming guarded. “How do you even know?”
“Nance,” Steve answers nonchalantly, “we called her when we went back to Eds place after dropping you off.”
“Wait, what about the date?” You’re in a stammering disbelief. “You didn’t let me ruin it, please fucking tell me—“
“Babe, and I mean this in the most respectful of ways,” Eddie says as he steps forward, gripping your shoulders, “can you please stop talking for five minutes and let Harrington’s sweet mouth explain? Besides, no way we were actually gonna go on that date without you.”
Steve smirks. Your brows pinch together and you huff, giving Steve the leeway to continue, meanwhile your heart is swollen with affection at Eddie’s admission. “At first she didn’t want to tell us, saying it wasn’t her place, but then Munson over there wouldn’t quit doing that begging thing he does, and then Robin started in by telling Nance that she can’t imagine his cute puppy eyes in agony, so… yeah.”
“Really?” You snort, shaking your head at your rocker boyfriend.
“Hey! It worked though, didn’t it?” Eddie is grinning, a grin that you most definitely want to kiss. “Found out our girl’s got a case of bein’ on the rag.”
“Must you use that phrase, Eddie?” You wince, your hand resting on your lower abdomen.
Steve remembers the bags and nudges Eddie’s shoulder to help him pick them up and take them into your kitchen. You’re stealing peeks when they’re discarded onto the kitchen counter, like a kid at Christmas time. Steve places his chin on your shoulder, wrapping his arms around your waist and using his palms to dig into that ache in your stomach, soothing it.
This guy is a fucking Adonis…
“Go ahead, baby. The stuff is for you. Well, some of it is for the big kid over there.” Steve chortles, Eddie flipping him the bird as he snatches his gummy worms from a sack.
“I don’t deserve it. I was a bitch to you guys.” You are mortified and saddened, hand pausing on the crinkling plastic.
Steve pecks your shoulder blade, pressing his cheek into the curvature of your neck. “Yeah, you were, but it’s not like you didn’t have a reason. And this stuff—total magic. An aphrodisiac to Mother Nature.”
“Nance totally told you guys what I’d need, huh?” You laugh, Steve joining in.
“We still remembered your favorites though. Lots of chocolate, Pringles, half of the gummy worms from Eddie’s bag.” At this, Eddie looks up, candy pinched between his milky white teeth. It’s endearing, really.
“Don’t forget about all the movies we hoarded from your work!” Eddie adds in. “Chick flicks galore, and lotsa horror. Maybe even a porno or two.” He sucks his sticky fingers into his mouth, letting them drop out with a pop.
Steve hums, nipping at your neck. “Let him talk me into bondage this time. He promises we’ll like it.” A kiss is seared into your skin.
You aren’t aware that you’ve began grinding back against Steve, tongue licking across your parched lips, hands shredding the bags’ handle, pupils blown as you watch Eddie, until Steve is groaning and pumping his hips into your backside, beckoning you closer. “Aw, fuck. That’s it, babygirl, rub that ass all over my cock.”
“Too m-messy.” You try, but make zero effort to stop.
“Messes are made to be cleaned, Y/N. You think we’re incapable of doing that?” Eddie is stalking closer, wedging himself between you and the counter, leaving you smashed between your guys. Eddie dips in a bend, then drags his already growing bulge over your clothed cunt. Steve is swelling against your ass, making you a simpering mess. They pass you back and forth in bumping thrusts, each matching the other, dominating your own, their mouths attaching fresh marks across each side of your neck.
You toss your hands back, pulling on two textured sets of hair. “Gotta stop. Fuck, s’ not… I can’t.”
And then they do stop. It makes all the blood rush to your head, dizzy. Eddie’s fingertip nicks your chin, tilting. “Ask us to stop then, Y/N.”
“And we will. You know we will.” Steve is speaking behind you. They share a look of love and strength.
You’re brimmed with an engulfing desire that is smothering every cell of common sense you possess. “I want. I just want…”
“You want Stevie’s cock in that messy little pussy, or mine?” Eddie kisses the corner of your mouth.
“Can’t decide. Need someone.” Oh yeah, you’re a goner.
“Think you’re lucid enough to follow us upstairs and help put some towels down, lover?” Eddie is amused, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear.
~*~
“That good?” Strong and thick thighs are pressed into the globes of your ass, hair tickling your flesh.
You bury your face into Steve’s freckle littered neck, muttering, legs trembling. “Mhm.”
“She’s so warm, Eds. Wait until you feel how different her pussy is like this.” His pupils are blown into a glossy black, flecks of cinnamon being all that remain of his hazel irises.
You can’t help but to tighten around Steve, legs locking around his waist, tugging him in closer as Eddie drapes himself across your chest and sucks a sensitive nipple into his mouth, cushioning his bites with those plush lips. Steve lets out this feral whimper, stifling it in your neck as he falls forward, driving himself into your overly wet pussy, the blood and arousal making it a slippery, but too easy of a glide. You’ve soaked the towel below, a fascination Eddie can’t take his eyes off of, stroking his cock in time with Steve’s rhythmic movements. That spot is hit inside of you and it’s more intense than you ever remember, making your vision black out, thigh trembling beyond your control. Eddie, patient and awaiting his turn with you, brings your mouth to his for a kiss, his tongue caressing your own in a sloppily slick push.
Saliva strings on the break-away, Eddie’s fondness of you growing. “S’ all tender and soaked inside? Gonna make me feel as good as it’s makin’ Stevie feel?”
You’re trying to nod, but it’s weak. “It’s amazing. You’re both, so fucking good. You’re everything.” You babble on.
Steve lifts his face from the cove of your jugular, licking at your sex-drenched skin. “That’s comfort, baby.”

"I can't stop thinking about you." "You can't keep calling me like this."

Angst
Eddie lays in his bed staring at the ceiling with one hand on his stomach, hie mop of curls surround his head like a halo but his mind races with thoughts of you.
It's been a couple of months since Eddie chose to break things off, he thought you were better off without him, he thought that you deserved someone like Steve Harrington, he thought he was doing you favor knowing that you'd be going to college soon and leaving him behind.
His room no longer had any traces of you. His shirts no longer had your scent on them. His Hellfire shirt was returned to him laying in the laundry basket untouched. Your tooth brush was no longer in his bathroom and your shampoo was long gone after Eddie used it to wash his hair. Your pair of extra shoes that laid underneath his bed is collecting dust and you hadn't bothered to come get them. Your notebook that had drawings of yours and Eddie's no longer is besides his bed. His room feels empty. Sweetheart even looked empty hanging there untouched, she used to have your necklaces on it to keep her company.
No longer there was extra food stocked up in his fridge from your cooking. No longer your hair ties laid on the kitchen counter where you forget them. Your own coffee cup was hung on the wall, no longer in use as it collected dust.
Eddie sees you in school. But you no longer sit at the Hellfire table, next to him. You sit with Nancy and Robin. He hears your laughter making his chest tighten. He's not the one making you laugh. You no longer come to the Hideout and he doesn't hear you cheering his band and hollering at him. He doesn't see your face there.
He sees you talking to Dustin. To Mike. Even Lucas. Gareth too. He watches you in class how you always get the best grade in the class. He watches as you walk down the halls with your walkman, not paying attention in the world.
You stopped getting weed from him.
He sees you at Family Video, talking to Steve.
Jealous runs through him watching as Steve makes you laugh and smile. It was no longer his job too.
His head turns towards the phone that's hanging on the wall, his throat closes up as remembers how he used to call you just to hear your sweet voice. The way his name rolled of your tongue.
You no longer looked at him. You no longer smiled at him. You no longer talked about him.
You would lay in bed trying to get some sleep in when the phone rings in the middle of the night. Groggily from sleep, you reach for it as it's there next to your bed an answer it.
" Hello?" you yawn. There is no talking on the other end but breathing and you find it weird.
" Whoever you are, it's 3 in the morning" you eyed the time on your wall, squinting to see it clearly with the lack of sleep in your eyes.
" I-I'm sorry" they would say and hang up. You found it weird but you knew exactly who that was. You could tell from that small hesitation that it was Eddie.
He kept calling you for the rest of the week, he needed to hear your voice. He knew he made a mistake of letting you go and he's hesitant to talk to you in person. To look you in the eye and tell you how much he missed you.
One night, the phone rings and you pick it up without hesitation. This time, you can't sleep and your wide awake thinking about the boy that broke your heart.
" What do you need, Eddie?" you ask. You can hear his breathing on the other line as he holds the phone to his ear, leaning against the wall.
" I can't stop thinking about you" he mumbles out, running a hand down his face. He yawns.
"You can't keep calling me like this." You tell him, sitting up in bed as you look out the window.
" I know, but I miss you, sweets. I really do" a tear falls down his cheeks as he leans his head back on the wall.
You bite on your bottom lip feeling your heart crack hearing his words.
" This isn't right Eddie, you chose to let me go"
" I-I want you-u back...I'm s-sorry" his shoulder shakes as a sob escapes his mouth and he closes his eyes sliding down the wall.
" You told me I wasn't good enough for you, that I deserved Steve Harrington. That I was better off doing things without you, you told me it was better this way. You told me you don't love me anymore..." you sniffle as you repeat the words in your head, the moment he said it.
Eddie shakes his head, " I do love you. I'm an idiot, please.."
" I don't know... you hurt me" He nods as he stands up brushing his tears away.
" I want to fix us" he pleads taking one of his curls as he chews on it, one of his habits.
" You need sleep Eddie"
" No, I need you.." he pleads, more tears falling down his cheeks. Your own tears fall down your cheeks hearing him pleading and you want to stay away from him, you do. But you love him.
" I need you too" that's all the words that Eddie needs to hear before he grabs his keys and rushes out his trailer into the van.

reminder that karen wheeler told mike wheeler, “all this, that’s been going on with will, i cant imagine what its been like for you. i just... i want you to know that you can talk to me. i never want you to feel like you have to hide anything from me (meanwhile el is hiding in the closet in mike’s room!!!!) i’m here for you, okay?"
reminder that mike wheeler has a ‘one-way’ sign pointing towards his closet in his room!!!
reminder that mike wheeler has a binder full of will’s drawings that he looks at for comfort and absolutely adores it when will gifts him paintings
reminder that mike wheeler has will’s art hung around in both his bedroom and basement (meanwhile el’s room is a mike shrine, mike barely has anything that represents el in his room)
reminder that mike wheeler is ‘the only one who’s acting normal here, the only who cares about will’ (his words, not mine)
reminder that mike wheeler stayed awake at the hospital, all nervous and his feet jumping up and down, because he wants to be the first to get to see will and make sure will is alright. when he saw will, he ran towards his bed and hugged him, putting his head softly over will’s chest
reminder that mike wheeler got completely furious that he pushed a bully to the ground in front of everyone at school because he couldn’t handle will being called homophobic slurs
reminder that mike wheeler held will’s hand when will needed him the most and reassured will that the shadow monster can’t get to him, that ‘we’ won’t let it get to him (this was in the same episode where the following convo between dustin and lucas took place; dustin: “i saw you [and max] were holding hands on the bus” lucas: “she was just scared. it wasn’t like that” dustin: “but i could feel it” lucas: “feel what?” dustin: “the electricity”)
reminder that mike wheeler told will on halloween night that if they’re both going crazy, they’ll go crazy together
reminder that mike wheeler stayed at will’s house for days and slept beside his bed, just to make sure he’s with will in case something bad happens
reminder that mike wheeler’s catchphrase for will is “are you okay? are you hurt?”
reminder that mike wheeler said while vulnerably crying that the best thing he’s ever done in his life was asking will to be his friend at the pure age of 5
reminder that mike wheeler biked all the way to will’s house in the pouring rain to apologize to him (in the same episode as this, max told el “dont worry, he’ll come crawling back for you in no time” which mike in fact did not for el, and instead did for will)
reminder that mike wheeler always keeps looking at will’s lips, because my dude what is the deal with that
reminder that mike wheeler stayed lingering in front of the byers’ old house, when everyone have already biked away at the end of s3, while the hopper narrates “i don’t want things to change”
reminder that mike wheeler went home to hug his mom after will has moved away, because he felt like he had lost will in a way. that scene parallels to the only other time he has hugged his mom which was in s1 when he thought he lost will for the first time
reminder that mike wheeler wasn’t able to be physically affectionate with will (the airport scene), when others were around (uh-oh, comp-het is typing)
reminder that in season 3 the sauna episode, mike wheeler yelled “boys only!” and then the camera pans onto the sign that reads “MEN”
reminder that mike wheeler said “we’re friends. we’re friends!” a liiiittle bit too defensively, like who are you trying to convince fruit boy (this was his response to will asking him, “what about us?” will meant us, as in their friendship, but mike probably thought the question had romantic implications)
reminder that once mike wheeler is alone with will and el is away, he is just himself (that scene in jonathan’s bedroom)
reminder that mike wheeler feels like he lost will because he was ‘focusing too much on el’ and that hawkins, the only place he has ever known of, is not the same without will
reminder that mike wheeler nodded in agreement when will said “[…] to say how you really feel, because… what if, what if they don’t like the truth?”
reminder that mike wheeler looks at his best friend this way:
Tumblr media
reminder to mike wheeler that i know what you are

Please tell me your punk!Steve thoughts.
OH BOY I HAVE A LOT - besides what i’ll probably infodump abt here i have lowkey fleshed out an entire backstory for punk steve under the #punk steve au
(to summarize, steve decides to become a punk and rebel against his parents instead of doing what they want and being a jock)
he introduces punk culture to el and max and they adore it (el loves the pastel punk aesthetic)
he doesn’t use any of his parents money (but continues to live in their house bc he doesn’t really have anywhere else to go and doesn’t want to burden any of the multiple families that would take him in), is a lifeguard in the summer and takes odd jobs around fall and winter.
he goes to Indianapolis as often as possible and learns most of what he knows from Elder Punks he meets there. there’s a couple small punk/alt stores he always stops by and a few bars/clubs. everyone he meets loves him (and baby punks in general but they find it really cool that he comes from privilege yet decides to rebel against ideals that were made so he could succeed at the failure of others).
he’s also introduced to the queer community a lot earlier on, and realizes he’s mlm (i hc him as gay but i can also see him as bi) and there’s a bunch of Elder Gays who adopt him.
he’s pretty much the only punk in Hawkins, so he kinda gets a reputation. in his freshman year he mostly keeps to himself, doesn’t really dress the way he wants and just wants to make it through the year. sophomore year though, he befriends jonathan nancy and barb and starts dressing and acting the way he wants to. him and jonathan listen to music together and he helps out with will when joyce and jonathan need to work- which eventually leads to him meeting mike dustin and lucas and taking care of them too.
steve realizes he wants to be strong enough to protect the people he cares about, so him and jonathan train and work out together a bit. steve and nancy don’t date, but they’re best friends along with barb. i just need to see barb and steve as besties it would make me so happy. also nancy and barb are in love bc obviously.
halfway through sophomore year steve gets a job at the local mechanics (mechanic eddie this, mechanic eddie that, no! give me mechanic steve who has a special interest in cars! just look at his beemer! and like the sole decoration he has in his room is a photo of a car!)
SO. junior year. this is when he starts going to indianapolis a lot more frequently. he buys records and camera stuff for jonathan, and drawing supplies for will (he basically lives with the byers atp). he is a lot more sure of himself, wears combat boots and battle jackets, and is damn good at fighting (he worked really hard at it the summer before). if anyone harms the kids he will not hesitate to hit someone, and this becomes town-wide knowledge very quick.
when will disappears in november, steve is the first person joyce calls before karen. he joins the search parties, he goes to lonnie instead of jonathan (steve would rather die than make jonathan face his abuser again). basically he’s involved with the upside down shit from the start.
also, steve accidentally finds out about el when dustin and lucas do. he offers to have her stay at his house, mike is reluctant but agrees, and el immediately becomes steve’s new baby sister. steve still saves the day at the end of s1 with the demogorgon, but the fight with jonathan and all of that doesn’t happen.
i accidentally plotted the whole show with this au…
steve finds el s2 and actually fucking tells the Party instead of hiding it like hopper did. el just permanently lives at steve’s now.
oh yeah and barb doesn’t die so that’s a thing that changes s2 a lot. i lost track of where this was going so i’m gonna just drop hcs i have about punk steve
he paints his nails black, he has a few piercings, he doesn’t really like the feeling of makeup on his face but he puts on eyeliner occasionally, he lets his hair grow out more and has perfected the ‘messy bedhead that somehow looks good’ look, he has big combat books and uses lace code, he’s gay but says he would go straight for joan jett (me too tbh), he has a reputation of “don’t fuck with me or my kids” in Hawkins, he also lowkey converts robin into a punk but she’s more indie-alt like jonathan, he doesn’t play any instruments but has a great voice and perfect pitch, will and el help him make one of his favorite battle vests, will is very crafty and artistic so he helps steve with a lot of his stuff, he has a few tattoos, he can do cool lighter tricks lol, etc.
