they had sprinklings of lore throughout the game and I love that! also the very first dan heng nightmare pv was 👀 that was the first thing that made me curious about their dynamic I'm also a sucker for dynamics that are a little unhinged and plague each other's dreams, gotta have a healthy balance of feral so the more intimate moments hit harder ajfjgkgh it's that friends to lovers to tragedy to enemies pipeline

it's that unrequited connection from someone forced to live because of past consequences, and someone who bears the weight of those sins but desperately wants to disconnect from the past. they're currently at their lowest rn but that just means they can only go up from here, and I'm really interested to see how they interact once they learn more about their past

their backstories are very much intertwined, alongside the high cloud quintet. I'll put some stuff that stands out to me below the cut!

This isn't the first time he's seen this man. This man had become his own inseparable shadow. No matter how many times he runs this man through with his spear, the man always comes back. He can neither lose to this man, nor truly win. Though he wants to run away, there is nowhere to run.

Blade's char story II

The black-haired young man shivered violently all over, but still clutched onto the spear in his hands. He had no dragon horns, and his reaction was slightly less mature than he remembered... But he would never forget this spear, these eyes, and how cruelty burst out from beneath the mirror-like emerald calmness. His wounds began to heal. His irises flickered and fixed their gaze at the boy once more. Without hesitation, the boy made another flourish with the spear... "That's it." The one who showed no mercy to enemies - was you. The one who single-handedly buried the beloved - was you. The one who almost led the place called home to its destruction - was also you. He fell down again. the beloved = blade the blacked out name = dan feng/imbibitor lunae it implies they knew each other in the past, but DH doesn't remember. Blade doesn't remember much about his past either, only that his mara strikes are triggered by seeing his xianzhou friends of the past (he most likely doesn't remember them as friends)

They share a pair of bracers!

the entire Passerby of Wandering Cloud set is Blade lore! he's such a tragic character, he's been through quite a lot, you should give it a read if you have the time :'>

this one is the backstory for the dragon bracer:

It seems that pairs of objects have telepathic connections with each other. Though the unnamed only had one bracer in his possession, his fingertips could still faintly feel the temperature from the other. He closed his eyes, trying his best to extract any information about the other bracer from the tenuous connection, be it its location or master. A slender yet strong hand once wore the other bracer. That owner, whose sharp spear glinted with a cold light and flourished like shooting stars, once sparred with the unnamed. That owner also once shared company and drinks with the unnamed, the two of them simply gazing at the moon with no words exchanged. However, in the end, it was also this person who stubbornly adhered to their plans with the unnamed, turned the beloved into a monstrosity, and pushed all into an abyss of eternal hatred and remorse. Pairs of objects are destined for an eventual reunion. The long years of grudges and hatred between them should be savored, like ice-cold aged liquor, one slow sip after another until the bottle of resentment is finally empty. Would the wearer of the other bracer feel the same? The unnamed didn't want to know.

the unnamed = Blade = Yingxing

drinking under the moon together -> in cn this is very ceremonial bond/close relationship-coded. Yingxing and Dan Feng were close

Yingxing has the bracer on his right arm and Dan Feng has the other pair on his left

They also share jade pendants (they look like they'd slot together, forming the head and mouthpiece of a cn lion)

This is a line from a vidyadhara egg, but I find the implications very fitting for them :'>

Yingxing created DH's Cloud-Piercer (as well as the other weapons for the High Cloud Quintet)

He remembered that, decades ago, he came to the Xianzhou with a merchant vessel and was impressed by the superb craftsmanship of this place. The young man was obsessed to the point of forgetting to eat or drink, and spent his inspiration like he was running out of time. He forged hundreds of marvels, four of which were the most famous. ... The black-haired man with dragon horns used his water manipulation abilities to rejuvenate his allies, and in the next moment he bound the water upon his spear and used it to ran his enemies through.

Blade's iris shape is similar to IL's lotus motif. lotuses symbolize resilience and rebirth--fitting for both of them, though one came back wrong :'>

Blade | About Dan Heng:

It's been heavily implied that Dan Feng and Yingxing did something that caused catastrophe and resulted in DF being forced to molting rebirth + banishment, and Blade being cursed with immortality and banished.

Dan Feng trusted Yingxing enough to sneak him into the Scalegorge Waterscape and let him do research--into what? we're not sure yet, but since Yingxing is a craftsman, he's probably creating something from the ambrosial arbor?? or from something relating to the vidyadharas. Perhaps he got cursed with Shuhu's gift here?? or DF somehow gave YX immortality, who knows...

I think their plan may be related to what we learn from Imbibitor Lunae's companion quest

There's a big focus on vidyadhara's immortality through molting but inability to reproduce, so any casualties in their numbers results in a permanent decrease in their numbers. Dan Feng's sin may be related to changing that (and failing, creating a dragon abomination that they had to fight against instead. although a whole separate vidyadhara was born from the catastrophe--Bailu).

Maybe being around the High Cloud Quintet made Dan Feng realize he didn't have a legacy to leave behind, unlike them. Every high elder becomes like the former, they lose their own sense of identity. I'd imagine being around a group of friends with their own agency, who also saw DF as a normal person, made him realize he also wanted to break free from the high elder cycle.

Yingxing may have been DF's biggest wake up call just bc he's a short life species who has done so much, who achieved more than anyone could imagine in a fraction of a lifetime of those in the Xianzhou. DF saw a star shine bright and couldn't help but follow and maybe wish he'd never lose sight of it as well.

Maybe it was for the selfish reason that he didn't want to lose these memories of the people who truly cared for him--of the people he truly came to care for--that he committed such a grave sin

He was dehumanized by everyone around him, I wouldn't put it past him to just. Snap one day, break his cold and calm poise, cry of desperation and fear of losing something dear to him

This kinda became a DF thing but personally, while DH himself may want to distance himself from DF, they're still the same person with shared memories (that DH can't remember)

It's similar to how Blade distances himself from Yingxing because he can't fathom his former self becoming the monstrous thing he is now

I'm really looking forward to when they can both reconcile and put their past to rest

You're are genuinely my favorite deltarune author and 'i know i'm not well (but i'm alright)' is by far my favorite deltarune fic (and in my list of all time fav fanfics) and I would LOVE to know what if any future you've envisioned for the cast?

ok well first off THIS IS SO SWEET THANK U SM......i dunno it always makes me so happy 2 know people return to my fics and me being your?? favorite?? deltarune author???? wild.

n all honestly i didnt really envision any sort of future once i finished up the series, i essentially see both homegrown hearts (for the kids) and dess, after (for dess n azzy) as the futures for the cast as i wrote them in i know i'm not well! this means theres a Whole Lot Of Life unaccounted for yes lol but that leaves it open for you to decide! they made it through the hardest part now they get to live their lives.

tho i will say some cute things ive always sort of pictured would be ralsei going to high school w the rest of the fun gang...she gets out of the dark world pretty early so she's got like, two or three years of high school experiences. i imagine kris susie and noelle really run with the bit of ralsei being a foreign exchange student (from their school's closet) just to see how far they can push it. i doubt they're super secretive about the dark worlds after this tho lol once ralsei gets out its like. why keep the worlds separate?

all the kids are way more mentally healthy here lol since they wouldve worked out the worst of their stuff earlier! im not sure what they'd do as adults...kris and noelle sharing a dorm room is still the funniest thing EVER to me. i also really like the idea of ralsei studying religion...as someone who doesnt study religion idk exactly what that would look like, but i think she'd find it really interesting and really relate to the idea of finding meaning in a world, though im not sure i see her as being like. actively religious herself after the dark worlds. i just feel like studying it is a way for her to forgive her past self, in a way? for how she clung to the prophecy. dunno. might do something with this idea one day. probably not, but we'll see.

on the dess and asriel side of things, asriel would meet chara! in this universe xe was dess's friend first but xe and azzy would hit it off too. asriel and dess playfully fight over xir and chara thinks it is very stupid (xe can have two friends!) but also won't complain about the pair of them doing all the chores xe doesnt want to do lol. i feel like prooooobably one big difference would be chara and azzy not having a qpr? that's an idea i like which is why i explored it in dear dess, love asriel, and i like xir having one with dess which will be seen in the dess raises kris au, but for this particular universe i think both dess and azzy being there means theyre all just close friends! chara doesnt let dess babysit though. dess is fine with this. she is not a huge fan of being responsible for children lol.

dess and kris continue to repair their relationship. for missing so many of kris's birthdays theres a good ten year span where dess goes super all-out. probably plans a surprise party that kris 100% knows about but thinks is really sweet so they dont say anything until the very end.

but thats just a few ideas i came up with! none of these would ever be written in any way bc i cant see myself writing more for the holiday-dreemurr kids universe...those stories are over and while i hope to write more deltarune stuff in the future (i have a LOT of ideas for the dess raises kris au), these particular fics are all in the 'it's free real estate' territory. their futures are whatever you could picture!

• It's been years since the stone age. Slowly, but not to slowly senku with rest of his friends mainly, and then other un-petrified people had developed the world much more than it was before the petrification.

• The daughter he loves so much was named after a well known scientist, Marie Curie. Her name was Mariel, the 'l' was just can extra that was taken from his wife's nickname, which ended with 'el'.

• Oh god Mariel disliked science so much. Mostly because her parents loved it so much that she felt ignored whenever her mom and dad were so occupied by science.

• But she loved her parents too much, so she acted to like science.

• "Uhm dad when will mom be coming back home?" She asked softly, she asked tugging on her dad's lab coat.

• "Oh- she will be coming home in 2-3 days!" He answered her as he ran his hand over her jet black hair before picking her up "Is there something you want, princess?"

• "I wanna ask!! Why does mommy and daddy like science so much? Mariel don' understand" She frowns clinging to her lovely daddy, Senku

• "Kukuku, I see my princess is finally asking me questions." Senku chuckled as his eyes sparkled, getting ready to explain her everything she wants to know. He goes to the lab she usually shares with his wife.

• Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped to the floor as she percieved all the things in the room.

• Oh god curiosity took better of her. Mariel literally bombarded Senku with questions asking about each and everything.

• She quickly got down carefully wandering in a rush.

• "Daddy, dirteeehh waterr" she points at a test tube "different coloured wateer, pwettyy" pointing at another one, she said making an 'O'with her mouth. "WOAAHHH DIFFERENT STOWNES!!" she went and picked some stones and examined them "they so pretty" she squeaked before looking at one another mysterious looking thing and going towards it.

• "What's th-" she abruptly paused and ran towards her dad and hugs his legs sobbing "daddy, that shtinkksss" she sobbed making Senku laugh a bit before picking her up once again.

• "Kukuku, my small princess, shall I show you something very interesting?" He asked making Mariel's fluorescent red orbs sparkle as she nodded a "Yes please!"

• That's when Senku takes Mariel to another, observatory room where all sorts of highly developed telescopes are present.

• "I'm 10 billion percent sure that you would love this!" He announced as he put her on a seat before adjusting somethings and makes her see through a pair of binoculars.

• "WOAAHH DADDY WHAT THIS?? THERES SO SPARKLE SO MANY PWETTY TIINGS!! IS THIS SKY? BIIGG SO BIIGG" Her excitement echoed through the walls of the room.

• "Kukuku you loved it didnt you?" He said in the most affectionate tone. "YES VERY!!" she exclaimed before jump-hugging into her father's arms who was kneeling besides her.

• "I'm glad to know that" he said as he picks her up realizing that she fell asleep. He takes her to her room and carefully tucks her to sleep.

• "Goodnight princess" he whispers as he gives a soft peck on her forehead before turning the lights off and leaving the room, shutting the door quitely.

• Now Senku was tearing up because, his daughter who refused to talk about science even after his wife tried her best trying to get Mariel interested in science. All he could think was how happy his wife was gonna get.

• Oh how badly Senku wished his wife was home to witness all of this. He was so sure that she would definitely cry. He just missed his wife too much and her daily rants about how much their daughter isnt even interested about knowing what science, even more.

• "Yeah send it to her, I'm 10 billion percent sure she'll cry and probably in front of her regardless the people there." He commanded into the ear piece which was connected to a drone which recorded everything from Mariel asking Senku "I wanna ask!! Why does mommy and daddy like science so much? Mariel don' understand"

Yes. Senku's wife watched the video after finishing the last presentation she had to give as lead researcher in a project. She immediately started crying, because alot of stuff went down when she wasn't home??? She immediately booked tickets home and returned home that night.

Soon after she returned she was so dramatic and ignored Senku and only paid attention to Mariel.

"Babe why are you so dramatic?" "Momma dramatic :O"

"SENKU!!" "Phew finally got noticed, anyways"

Senku hugged both of them before saying "I love you both 10 billion times"

"And we love you 10 billion times more" both of them reeplied to Senku in unison.

02. who are your character’s friends and family? who do they surround themselves with? who are the people your character is closest to?

their family is dispersed across the state of north carolina.   asides from their parents and their sister,   their relationship with their family is strained,   because they’re the Bad kind of southern where ur mean 2 people for no reason.   so,   they surround themselves with people who are accepting and open-minded to make up for it.   they’re closest to their band-mates,  the people they spend so much of their time with.

03. what is your character’s biggest fear? who have they told this to? who would they never tell this to? why?

their biggest fear is their music becoming work.   music has always been and outlet and escape for casey,   and as the band becomes more serious and looks for ways to gain traction,   they’re worried a day will come that it will feel like less of a passion and dream job and more of a chore,   a stressor in their life.   they wouldn’t mention this to the band,   because he knows some members have more riding on potential success than others,   but they probably word vomited something about it to finley at some point or another.

04. has your character ever been in love? had a broken heart?

i think the only person casey has been Genuinely In Love with is finley.   they’ve loved a lot of people,   but you know there’s a Difference and what not.   by extension,   that breakup did break their heart a little,   especially since it was on the basis that they were More Invested in taking the next step with things,   it was a rejection that stung.

05. your character is doing intense spring cleaning. what is easy for them to throw out? what is difficult for them to part with? why?

in general,   they live minimally,  and don’t have a hard time getting rid of things because they’re just Things.   but they do have a collection of hats from places they’ve visited and for special events they’ve gone to and they would rather Die than whittle those down even if they only wear the same 3 ballcaps.

06. it’s saturday at noon. what is your character doing? give details.

giving piano lessons,  probably.   they’re an early riser,   and spend most of saturday morning on their personal tasks for the day,   and devote much of the mid-day and afternoon to whatever Hustle they’re currently on,  leaving nights open for gigging or just hanging out with the gang.

07. what is one strong memory that has stuck with your character since childhood?

they vividly remember wading in the water behind their grandparents house with their cousins and sister at some kind of family reunion.   because they went through a Big Rebel Phase that transitioned into a Big Gay Revelation,   they don’t have a lot of memory of feeling like they were A Part of the family at large and sometimes yeah they miss when they were a kid and they had that.

08. what is in your character’s refrigerator right now? on their bedroom floor? their nightstand? in their wastebasket?

frankly i’m about to start removing this question i think i simply don’t have anything interesting to say in the FRIDGE theres FOOD on the FLOOR theres LAUNDRY in the NIGHTSTAND theres JUNK need i say more

09. what is something that upsets your character? where do they go when they’re upset? on the opposite end, what is something that makes them laugh out loud? where or when are they at their happiest?

casey takes things other people say more to heart than they probably should.   they read into things and find rudeness where perhaps there isn’t and it’s probably what leads to most of their Episodes.   when they’re upset,   they like to go out to the beach by themselves with their headphones and just Lay There a little.   this is another one i could probably shorten for a lot of my muses because.   they laugh when things are funny and they’re happy when they’re with their friends :pensive:

10. when your character thinks of their childhood kitchen, what smell do they associate with it? why?

their mom used to light this apple pie scented candle 24/7 so more than any food stuff that was prepared in the kitchen,   they remember the scent and the crackling wick of the candle in the window.

First of all, Kpop is not just simply pop music, as the name suggests. Within the genre kpop are actually many different genres of music mingled and there’s something nice for (almost) everyone to find. I’ll give you some information about my favourite groups that might help you find what you could like. I will also link mostly title songs as they are the more popular songs and usually have a music video (kpop music videos are always very aesthetic btw).

Starting off with my ultimate favourite group Stray Kids. They are still rookies as they debuted in March 2018 but I’ve fallen in love with them and their music so much that I highly recommend you checking them out. They are a 9 member boy group with three of those members, Bang Chan, Changbin and Han (knowns as 3RACHA) writing and composing all of their songs. 3RACHA has been releasing pre-debut mixtapes on Souncloud throughout 2017 and if you like hip hop/rap music, you should definitely give them a listen. Okay, so I sometimes forget about this song haha

A good song that screams SM to be honest which I always thought was not that much the case with other EXO songs

The dance to this is really satisfying to watch and was probably the reason I bought this song

It shows EXO’s excellent vocals, has a nice feel and is easy to listen to 

Quite an early song too

I love that you could potentially dance really hard to this but still is very soft

Instantly recognisable and also a kpop classic I would say

The sound is very electric and theres a quiet electric melody running through the whole of it that kinda sounds like some alarm clocks lol

Yo! I was thinking of something similar to your idea about knocking a song off each album. If you could make one song the title track that's not the title track on each album, which songs would you choose? And if you wouldn't change the title track defend why

okay lets go !! this is fun !!!! also get ready for a monstrously long essay. im going to do them out of order probably sdkjfsdf so this wont be organized But. well first off, on 1of1 i would pick u need me and Maybe this is bc im biased towards it bc its my favorite song but listen… i feel like they could have continued the 90s aesthetic w the song as well. it would have been a Different 90s aesthetic rather than the cheerful bright one they were going for But that song to me feels like playing a cyberpunk-y arcade game  and that is Very 90s so. i would have loved to see them 90s video game aesthetics in music video form i think it would have been interesting. 

i would definitely leave dream girl as the title track for misconceptions of you. not necessarily bc its my favorite song off the album in this case, bc its not, but bc i think thematically it works best. especially bc my Ideal title track from misconceptions of you would have been nightmare. so going from dream girl -> nightmare works Perfectly in a thematic sense and it definitely ties those two albums together even wore. especially bc moy’s sound was more upbeat/had a Brighter aesthetic, while misconceptions of me was darker Both in the aesthetic/packaging of the album and in the songs themselves. which makes sense bc its going from a happy dream to a nightmare. this is really my favorite concept and im going to be on my deathbed wishing nightmare was the title track bc i love this idea so much its so Perfect.

for odd i find it really difficult to say. the other day i was talking about shinee albums w someone (and we were comparing 1of1 to odd) and they said that 1of1 was definitely a more cohesive album w better flow, however it could have been intentional that odd didnt rly have a cohesive Vibe bc it was called well… odd. like an odd jumble of songs together. i think thats rly brilliant btw and true so!! see initially i would say ‘well keep view’ bc i got this whole dreamy summer roadtrip vibe from the teasers/pictures and all that But if you were to pick a different song then the teasers/pictures would reflect that. its harder to tackle bc theres not a Theme like there is 1of1 or the misconceptions albums. and i like the whole dreamy roadtrip aesthetic where everything seems floaty and is if youre seeing it through a filter. i really enjoy that. but i think odd eye would have made for a very interesting mv and an entirely different concept all together Which is cool,, i also think it does work in that it references something not matching and being Odd™ just like the songs on the album itself which is a good summary of the “theme” of that album, if there would be any. i think view is probably a better title track in terms of marketability and all that But thats besides the point. so yeah after reflection,,  i do think i would pick odd eye

for mttm theres zero question i would keep mttm as the title track its literally their best mv and its So unique and stand out. its an amazing concept that is just on an entirely different level. also i loved the rocky horror teasers stuff that was great !! and again the mv itself is the most unique one that shinee has done Ever so changing the title track is not a good idea here

now that we get 2 sherlock i start to find this difficult bc i just cant imagine any other song being the title track. this is the same for lucifer. both those songs are so Iconique and one of the most well known songs shinee has ever put out. they are legitimately iconic. i mean lucifer is straight up shinees most well known and universally adored song tbh. they are such mainstays in shinees overall Image that a timeline where theyre not the title tracks seem so different. this goes for ring ding dong as well there is No way i would ever change the title track to be anything but rdd ring ding dong has birthed us so many memes for like 8 fuckign years straight. and Also for replay (although thats a debut not a title track so),,, its their debut song i cannot change that Dude its such a defining moment for them and they perform it to this day. these are less “objective” answers probably but nonetheless my answers.

for everybody,, while my favorite song is destination as everyone should Know at this point i would pick queen of new york. like in fact No i would not chose symptoms to be title track although thats the most well liked from that album. i dont have a super strong for reason except for the fact that i think queen of new york would make for an interesting mv. for some reason i always imagine some of kind of retro futuristic vibe from that song. actually the very specific aesthetic i imagine is the one in this picture or this one. i dont rly know Why but i think of something really colorful and maybe slightly surreal looking but not in a dramatic way,, i think this aesthetic is interesting for a mv. and ok who am i fooling of course id also say destination. destination could have Amazing choreo and itd be so fun  i imagine a very fast paced mv where they go around zooming through like 20 dimensions and fight ppl or something. it could work in their military uniforms which queen of new york couldnt rly skjfskfd. 

now,,, the hello repackage. while hello is also one of their Iconic songs tbh ive got to say that id change the title track to a-yo. initially i felt that Urge to say obsession but i wont bc i think a-yo fits the aesthetic that the repackage was going for Aka something light and bubbly after lucifer. a-yo has the same general light and bubbly vibe as hello does, and i happen to like it better, so i think hello’s aesthetic could be preserved while using an (imo) better song so !!

i think it's an nct thing? it's why i never get tired of them bc they're always active in a way. you should've seen how things went down last year! march 127 album, april dream mini-album, may 127 repackage, june wayv album and the whole nct 2020 thing. it was a wild year. about the track, i listened to it once and forgot about it. might give it a few more listens but it might not grow on me at all. yes! wasn't a big fan of hot sauce at first too bc i thought the intro was weird (not jaemin's part, like the first thing that plays). and yes, that hook loops in my head 24/7. i even made it my instagram bio.
