When people think of diverse reading, they mostly think of identities different from their own race or ethnicity. When I think of diversity, I think about all the ways that identities intersect because humans aren't just one thing. In intersectionality is where the real work begins and where you really get to learn about the world. Challenge yourself to read different religions, sexualities, genders, mental illness, disability, etc. Series are difficult for me but being able to experience the world of Daevabad through short stories has me excited. The River of Silver by S.A. Chakraborty is out now. Thanks to @harpervoyagerus @bibliolifestyle for the gifted copy. If you love epic fantasy and magic, Eastern folklore, Muslim rep and great world building pick this one. ⚔️ SYNOPSIS ⚔️ Now together in one place, these stories of Daevabad enrich a world already teeming with magic and wonder. Explore this magical kingdom, hidden from human eyes. A place where djinn live and thrive, fight and love. A world where princes question their power, and powerful demons can help you…or destroy you. A prospective new queen joins a court whose lethal history may overwhelm her own political savvy… An imprisoned royal from a fallen dynasty and a young woman wrenched from her home cross paths in an enchanted garden… A pair of scouts stumble upon a secret in a cursed winter wood that will turn over their world… From Manizheh’s first steps towards rebellion to adventures that take place after The Empire of Gold, this is a must-have collection for those who can’t get enough of Nahri, Ali, and Dara and all that unfolded around them. #TheRiverofSilver #SAChakraborty #thedaevabadtrilogy #bibliolifestyle #bookcommunity #bookstagram #tbr #bookstagrammer #reading #books #bookworm #booklover #bibliophile #Muslimrep #fantasy #series #read #readersofinstagram #igeads #art #ownvoices #diversebooks #murals #bookphotography #booknerd #nyc #bookrecommendation #booktour https://www.instagram.com/p/Ckhrv66gTCp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Thank you Netgalley for approving me to have this gorgeous E-ARC. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about anything in this book, besides being sad I can't stack it on my shelf like a trophy. This collection is set before, during and after the trilogy. It gives you more insight to events that happened as well as characters and relationships. This reminds you of how well thought out and complex ALL the characters in this series are. It was so easy and comforting to slip back into the wonderful setting of Daevabad and it's complex politics. I binged it in one sitting. It makes you FIERCELY miss this world and everyone in it. You learn so much more about the world, the characters and the past. I will absolutely be rereading the trilogy and this come October. I am so heartbroken to say goodbye once again to Daevabad. This book was EVERYTHING I wanted and more. It's an emotional ride that will have you laughing one moment, and brutally ripping your heart out the next. This was an incredible read. Easily 5 stars. I will now be crying in the corner #kindle #arc #booksofinstagram #bookrecs #bookstagrammer #bookreview #fantasybooks #daevabadtrilogy #theriverofsilver https://www.instagram.com/p/CeWxq4qvcqK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
