Ottoman Empress

If they try to combine the tones of the old cartton and the live action show in a new Tick show, I feel jarring tone shifts can work with her or a villain homaging her.

She has a hilarious and heartbreaking backstory of growing up without much human contact, so she starts bonding with and talking with inanimate objects, as can actually happen

The Tick style part is she develops the ability to "telepathically communicate with furniture" and make it do her bidding.

You could have interspersed unnerving childhood flashbacks throughout the episode.

Dr. Mental and Minda

In a The Tick reboot, or a fan series even, I think these two could work as a toxic mirror of The Tick and Arthur.

They have a really queerplatonic thing going on.

By the third seasons Minda has broken up with him and gotten a job at the front desk of the superhero sanitarium, but Mr. Mental refuses to accept its over and keeps calling her on the telephone to help him with his latest scheme and she only relents because and picks up what he left in a cab from the Lost and Found because his life is in danger from another villain being after him.

“Confessions After Midnight” A Tick Fic :)

Summary: The Tick and Walter have a heart-to-heart. Takes place directly after the confrontation scene with Midnight in “After Midnight” (1x8) when Arthur tries to warn Midnight about the potential fate of Superian.

“Walter—” 

Arthur Everest faced the man who was attempting to be fatherly to him. 

Meanwhile, Walter remained still, silent and expectant. 

“You’re not my dad.” 

Before Walter could respond, Arthur simply turned and bolted—leaving both Walter and the Tick standing alone together, completely dumbfounded and lost. 

The Tick waited expectantly for Walter to immediately run after Arthur. 

Instead, Walter’s shoulders sagged heavily as he fell into the nearest chair with what seemed to be complete and utter defeat.

Thankfully, the Tick had a special knack for sensing when a fellow being was hurting. 

As though he were an old friend or a psychologist, he took a seat adjacent to Walter. Meanwhile, Walter was all too aware that the Tick was waiting patiently for him to speak; he just wasn’t sure where to begin—he had always felt out of place in Arthur’s life; he had never been able to bond with the boy in the way he had hoped. Now, it seemed like they were drifting even further apart.

“He’s right…” Walter spoke quietly and sadly. “I’m not his Dad. And…whenever I try to be…I just make things worse.” 

“Walter,” the Tick offered, “I think Arthur’s just confused!” 

“Well if he is then I can’t blame him…” Walter tried not to look discouraged. “Because to be honest, Tick, so am I! All I want to do is be supportive. I just want to make sure—that—that he’ll be okay,” he added, in almost an inaudible whisper. 

The Tick placed a gigantic blue rubbery hand on his shoulder. Walter looked up with surprise; he’d never expected such a huge hand to be so gentle and comforting. 

“You don’t need to worry about our Arthur!” The Tick spoke as though he had known Arthur Everest his entire life. “That boy’s got a heart the size of the entire universe—and the smarts to match!” 

“But—” Walter struggled to find the words. “He’s always been….” 

“What?” the Tick challenged, “Capable? Witty? Unyieldingly brilliant---?” 

“Unusually vulnerable,” replied Walter, staring off into the distance and looking pained. “You know, Tick—I fear that he might not be able to meet the demands his life is asking of him….” His voice broke a couple of times as he spoke, but the Tick didn’t seem to notice—or, if he did, he didn’t comment on it. 

“Walter…” The Tick pat Walter reassuringly on the shoulder, “I will be there! Come on, who better to come to the rescue of our wonderful Arthur from his Moment of Peril than THE TICK?” 

At this, Walter couldn’t help but smile. “I’m glad he found you, Tick.” 

“It was Destiny’s doing,” the Tick replied, staring off into the Wild Blue Yonder, “She brought us together. Destiny smiled upon us both that day.”

“I suppose it did.” Walter smiled at the thought—and smiled wider when he noticed Midnight’s book on the table. “How’s the book going?” he asked, genuinely curious, his worries suddenly forgotten. 

“Fascinating!” the Tick exclaimed, beaming at him with excitement. “Walter—” The Tick hesitated. “Have you ever wondered what goes through a dog’s brain while he’s dreaming? Well Midnight says that dogs dream in color in their sleep!” 

However, it appeared that Walter wasn’t listening. Instead, Walter kept staring down at the Tick’s gigantic blue toes—the likes of which  seemed disproportionately huge, even for such a gigantic blue man. 

“...Walter?” The Tick cocked his antennas at the man in confusion. 

“Tick—” Walter looked up at his newfound friend with an unexpected combination of curiosity and, strangely enough, excitement. 

“Walter?” the Tick prompted again. 

“Tell me…” Walter smiled. “...How are your feet?”
