On the whole I'm completely ill-equipped to answer this question because I've seen two episodes of this ever when I was a very small child. As an aside, though, one of those episodes was the one with CandleJack, and what that points to, in a reboot, would be the incorporation of the contemporary version of that kind of campfire story- analog horror antagonists. Creepypasta antagonists. Genuinely nuts to me that more kid's cartoons of the digital age haven't incorporated stuff like this- Amphibia is the only one I know of that's done this, and that was in a non-canon halloween short. Cowards.
