it’s a little mistake from sukuna’s part; he accidentally arrives later to pick you up after he’s told you to wait in the empty arena and while he’s absent, it just so happens that his teammates are also leaving. and after they see you, everyone just can’t stay away from you.

most of the time enter the arena along with sukuna, his hand holding yours tightly as he looks at you with a smooth smile, busy telling you something to notice his teammates ogling you both because lovesick sukuna is something new. so it’s a total surprise to see you alone, sitting idly on the bleachers with your sketchbook in your hands.

of course, first and foremost, it’s fushiguro toji, who decides to plop down by your side, after his sharp eyes land on you as he comes out of the changing rooms.

you smoothly scoot away, intimidated by his close proximity, and look at him with a troubled kind of look, waiting for him to say something.

“the name’s toji.”

you mutter your own name, eyeing him warily as he leans closer. he doesn’t look very trustworthy; not with his sleazy smirk and sharp bright eyes, the scar tugging on the corner of his mouth and the way he doesn’t seem to understand what exactly is personal space. toji takes a strand of your hair, twirling it around his finger as he tries to catch your gaze.

“so, tell me,” he pauses, taking a deep breath before speaking again. “what’s it like being sukuna’s little pet?”

you visibly wince, moving farther away from him before you hit something with your hand, forced to look back in confusion when you’re met with someone’s long leg.

“y’should watch your mouth, y’know? sukuna will bite your head off if he hears you.”

your eyes glide upwards, widening at the sight of the guy with long raven locks you usually see in the hallways with his white-haired friend. he gives you a soft smile, his presence far more peaceful and welcoming than toji’s.

“suguru? who’re you talking to— oh,” said white-haired friend appears behind suguru, throwing his arm over his shoulder as he gazes down on you curiously. “you’re sukuna’s girlfriend, aren’t you?”

“i’m suguru, this is satoru,” satoru salutes you with a lopsided smirk, sitting down on a row below as he watches you through the lenses of his eyeglasses. “and this is toji, he is a bit rude.” toji rolls his eyes at that, scooting closer to you while suguru takes a place by your other side, other teammates also gathering around.

you find suguru to be the more adequate one; he’s quick to shush down any suggestive comments from toji and monitor whatever comes out of satoru’s unfiltered mouth. toji, albeit a bit brash and full of teasing remarks about your relationship with his team captain, is not that bad, his eyes seem to speak more about him than any part of him because of how they are solely trained on you and that’s a little uneasy.

satoru is quite silly, donning a cheeky smile on his lips and joking around with suguru’s who seems to be more acceptable of him. nanami seems to only keep to himself after he greeted you politely and introduced himself, and loves to speak up only to shut down satoru’s laughable claims.

you can’t help but note that they are all ridiculously handsome. no wonder everyone drools over them; toji is all broad shoulders and bulky build, suguru’s long hair makes him look like a total model along with his much more balanced build, satoru is the tallest out of them, unrealistically beautiful and built like the perfection itself, all slim and tall limbs, while nanami is something like a mix of all of them, still very striking though.

although, very intimidating in their presence and appearance, they all seem to be pretty nice to you, you notice, and don’t try to pry too much into your personal life. except for toji — he just can’t accept the fact that sukuna’s dating a person, who is not even close to being similar to him, it’s so weird — and occasionally satoru.

that is, until the arena’s door loudly slams open and sukuna enters. the dead silence makes your stomach churn in nervousness as you watch his indifferent face turn more and more suspicious, his steps getting closer. he eyes down his teammates as he stands tall over the four of you, his gaze stilling when he notices toji sitting very close to you and leaning into your space.

sukuna offers you is hand silently, without looking at you, and you take it, face heating up from the intensity of his gaze even if it’s not directed at you. he leads you down the bleachers, not bothering to greet or talk to his teammates, and you can’t help looking back at them, waving your hand shyly as a way to say ‘bye’.

toji’s gaze lingers on you longer than suguru’s and satoru’s, the smirk on his face widening before he opens his mouth again, “won’t even let us talk more?”

sukuna flips him off, throwing an arm over your shoulder, “fuck off.”

your mind was blank. The cold pierced through your window, empty alcohol bottles and old cigs scattered around as you lay spread out on floor beside your bed.

it all repeated over and over again in your head.the other night, ellie coming home smelling like weed, alcohol and another girls perfume again. you knew where she had been.

“this is not the end of anything” ellie said rolling her eyes at you. “it is to me” you replied. “why? tell me, why? because my attention was off you for one night? you can’t go one night without me?” she scoffed, “fucking embarrassing y/n”.

“it wasn’t just one night, it’s been many el you know this. you can’t keep doing this and expecting me to be here the moment you’re done messing around with other girls” you choked out. her words were getting to you, she knew they were.

“so what?” she replied.

your eyes were wide. she was always dismissive, you couldn’t put up with it anymore. “get out ellie” you answered. she scoffed in return, “i’m going to sleep”.

“get out, i’m serious” you raised your voice “stop yelling at me” she replied, walking towards your room.

your heart was racing. You walked in front of her, pushing her away before she could open your bedroom door. “leave ellie” you repeated. “baby, stop overreacting” she sighed.

“i’m not fucking overreacting, why can’t you listen to me? why can’t you take me seriously for one goddamn minute? i want you to leave, i don’t want you here anymore” you yelled again, ellie still rolling her eyes at you, sighing again. “why would i take you seriously” she laughed.

“what?” you breathed out, lowering your tone, your heart still racing. “why would i take you seriously? look at how psychotic you are over a few girls who mean nothing. how do you expect anyone to put up with you when this is how you act? so greedy. i always come back to you and it’s still not enough” she said caressing your face, her eyes looking into yours so innocently. you forced yourself not to fall for it.

you held eye contact for a minute before she walked back over to the living room where this had started.

“Fuck el, why aren’t you listening? i don’t want you to come back to me, i want you to stay with me, why am i not enough? why do you need all these other girls?” you cried. “i’ll change, you know i will ellie. i’ll change anything, i’ll stop everything you don’t like, please, just tell me”.

her face was blank, she sat down on the couch, keeping her eyes off you, but she could hear the tears through your voice. “look at you” she said, your eyes filled now—there was no point in trying to hide it.

“you were just yelling at me, trying to stick up for yourself. now you’re crying, saying you’ll “change yourself for me”, and i haven’t even said anything” she laughed again, you stayed silent. “you’re so pathetic, really”. “you’re lucky i even put up with you for this long, everyone else would rather be dead then with you. I put up with you, I stayed with you, I came back to you so you wouldn’t feel alone” she laughed at her words again. “You know that’s all you’ll feel when i leave, there’s nobody else who will ever put up with your bullshit the way i do. you’d be a nobody if it wasn’t for me”. you stayed frozen. “what? nothing else to say now? you were just going on and on about how terrible i am, cat has your tongue now?” she spit.

“just leave ellie, please” you whispered, barely able to get anything out through the sobs.

she stood up from the couch, walking towards you. you stepped back slightly before her hand reached to cup your face, wiping away the continuous tears.

“you don’t realize how much you’re throwing away right now” she whispered “all for what y/n?” “to feel like a big girl” she mocked you. you couldn’t look her in the eyes, your body was stuck in place. you stayed still as she leaned in to kiss your head, her face unsympathetic through it all. she caressed your face once again before picking up her jacket off the rack and leaving, making sure to slam the door behind her.

you remained in place. standing in your empty one bedroom apartment, tears flowing down your face as your body filled with agony.

this is really kind of you & it means so much to me that you want to support your friend & are putting so much thought into it! my response is inherently based in my own experience to an extent & everybody’s different, but a lot if not all of this is stuff i’ve heard regularly from other chronically ill people. of course, don’t say anything you don’t mean – if some of this isn’t the case for you, just adapt accordingly :)

i understand worrying about being repetitive but i think that’s totally okay to do! for one thing, it can be difficult to remember things period when you’re ill, especially during a flare, & for another, internalized + societal ableism is a hell of a force. it never hurts to have a reminder that not everyone is trying to force ableist expectations onto you + your friendship & that someone cares about you!

i think you can definitely tell your friend pretty much what you told me! like, “hey, it’s okay if you aren’t feeling up for responding but i just wanted to check on you! not trying to pressure you to hang out or anything, i just care about you & how you’re doing”

honestly the most important + supportive thing people have ever told me is that it’s okay if the answer is “bad.” i’m literally like surprised pikachu meme every time somebody offers to let me vent about having a rough time & then it helps me just to talk about it. it’s really socially unacceptable to talk about chronic pain & a lot of people get frustrated when you’re complaining about the same thing & there’s not really anything they can do, so just the opportunity to be like “yeah shit fucking sucks right now” means a lot.

obv the appropriateness of this depends on the person & their relationship to disability but most of the time i’m very like, radical acceptance / embracing / etc about the fact that i’m probably just gonna get sicker, so sometimes when i’m having a rough time emotionally & am like “what if i’m this bad for the rest of my life” my gf (who doesn’t have chronic pain / chronic illness) will say something like “then i can’t wait to be there with you ❤️” & it’s more meaningful to me than i can begin to put into words.

again everybody’s different but for me one of the biggest things is when disability stuff just… isn’t a big deal to the other person. which, it’s totally okay for you to need support from others when someone you care about is going through a hard time & when things change! but abled people are constantly horrified about like, every aspect of my life, so being able to talk casually about symptoms & somebody mirror the mood / tone i set – laugh if i’m joking, be upset about the ableism i experience & not my body itself if i’m complaining about people being weird about it, taking things as they come – is so affirming.

other things that have been helpful + meaningful for me are friends sending me notes, stickers, & art in the mail – having something tangible can make me feel more “real” & part of the world, something i struggle with due to being homebound – & peer support around medical neglect, which often just looks like talking to someone after a doctor’s appointment & them reaffirming my reality / experiences & saying i didn’t deserve to be treated that way.

oh one other change in language i’ve made over time & probably picked up from a few other ill people in my life is a sort of realistic encouragement – there’s not necessarily anything wrong with “i hope you feel better soon!” because like, i get that the message is well-intentioned, but it can be awkward & difficult to receive when you don’t know if that’s gonna happen. instead, i try to tell people something like “i hope you get a bit of relief soon” or “i hope things are a little easier tomorrow.” a 7/10 pain day may be horrifying for most people, but when you’ve had a streak of 9s, it can be a much-needed taking the edge off, & i try to make space for that breadth of experience in my language.

⇢ 𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍𝐍𝐘 is more than happy to lend you his ears (and his lap) after you come home from another draining day at your new job. he listens attentively as you rest your head on his thighs and elaborate on how inadequate you feel in comparison to the other fresh recruits, but he squeezes your cheeks when the conversation spirals into a self-deprecating rant. “hey, you better watch it. that’s my best friend you’re talking about,” he jokingly warns you. the sudden gesture is enough to disrupt your destructive train of thought, and you can’t help but smile as you sit up and climb on top of his lap in a warm hug. you murmur a quiet “thank you” as you bury your face in the crook of his neck, and the night ends with tender kisses as johnny lists out all of the qualities he loves about you.

⇢ 𝐓𝐀𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐆 knew that fatherhood was going to be exhausting, but he didn’t expect to be on the verge of collapsing within the first two weeks. he also understands that whatever he’s going through is just a fraction of what you’re experiencing, so he can’t help but tear up as he watches you fall deeper and deeper into despair. “i can’t fucking do this. i’m not cut out for this, taeyong. i feel like i’m going crazy, and i just can’t do a single thing right. i’m already a terrible mother,” you manage to huff in between sobs, after finally getting your twins to fall asleep. 

he envelopes you in a warm, secure embrace, and he presses a kiss to your forehead as he caresses your back in soft circles. “you’re doing your best, and that already makes you a fantastic mother, y/n,” he tells you, gently. “this is a completely new experience for both of us, so of course we aren’t going to be perfect parents right off the bat. it’s okay to struggle. i’m right here with you, i promise. be compassionate with yourself, honey. you deserve it.”

so there’s something in s3 that really bothers me that is in the grand scheme of things very minor. They seemed to make a huge deal over all female teams. At first if was the Electras, they ranted about how women were the best football players, whatever. Then they made a big deal over D’jok joining a team who’s other members were exclusively women. THEN they made a big deal in 1 episode(i can’t remember which one) that 2 all female teams were playing against each other. This makes me irrationally angry.

 If there’s one thing s3 does, it’s ruin pre-established things about the GF worldbuilding, this is one of those things, in my opinion. Before, it had been established that ANYONE can play in ANY team they want, the only requirement being having the same flux. Unlike in our world where teams are seperated by sex, in GF, women and men can play in the same teams. With The Xenons and Red Tigers as a notable exception, pretty much every team has had at least 1 female player, even though pretty much only the SK, Wambas and Pirates have different character models,making it hard to differentiate sometimes. The shadows have Nihla, who was referred to as “she” by Aarch in s1,even if she looks the same as her male teammates. Sarlight (a Lightnings player) is referred to as “beautiful” in ch3 of the novelisation, though their pronouns are never stated and they look like the rest of their team(and,who knows,maybe the lightnings really DON’T have any differences other than just color). And while,yes, there are a lot more men in these teams than women, i can almost guarantee that the reason was “they didn’t want/have the time or budget to make 2 separate character models for each team” which i honestly cant blame them for. “they could have mentioned it”, no, they really couldn’t. None of these background character players were important enough to get talked about in the series, so they wouldn’t have their pronouns mentioned. You can see with the Wambas that they COULD and probably WANTED to have more diversity in these character models, but they probably just didn’t have the time/budget. We probably would have gotten more canonically female players, but what can you do. (i mean, if Aarch didn’t confirm Nihla was female in s1, everyone,including me, probably would have assumed the shadows were an all male team because of the character models being the same and having no in-universe indication all Shadows looked the same biologically)

 This is a universe where gender(and lack of it,seeing as robots can play) DOES NOT MATTER in the slightest. NO ONE CARES, and no one SHOULD logically care. If they live in a universe where anyone can play, it would make no sense for people to make a big deal out of something as insignificant as gender. And that’s how it was in the first 2 seasons,as far as i remember, no one even MENTIONED the Rykers being an all female team,or underestimated them in the slightest, why would they? The Rykers were seen as fucking terrifying, rightfully so. You didn’t need to be TOLD that these women were powerful and a great team, you were SHOWN they were.

Which is why that thing from s3 makes me angry. Besides the general storytelling rule of “show dont tell”, it just reminds me of that fake corporate kind of f3minism that puts a bad taste in my mouth. Like how hollywood seems to think that giving female characters special treatment they didnt have to work for(like mulan in the remake (which completely ruins the story btw)) or constantly pointing out to the audience “HEYY!! ARENT THESE CHARACTERS COOL,, AND THEY’RE !!!WOMEN!!! HEY GUYS IMAGINE THE IDEA OF WOMEN BEING SOMEWHAT CAPABLE!! GUYS AREN’T WE SO REVOLUTIONARY AND PROGRESSIVE FOR HAVING FEMALE CHARACTERS THAT AREN’T COMPLETE DAMSELS IN DISTRESS?? BUY OUR PRODUCT CUZ WE’RE SO PR0GRESSIVE AND COOL U GUYS WE SWEAR WE DON’T HATE WOMEN” is saying something(which it isn’t, and in fact makes a spectacle of capable women existing in fiction and in real life, which, suprise! in turn makes people think that women cannot be competent or equal to men unless they are an exception. WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY A BAD THING TO DO. And besides that just generally being bad, AS WE ESTABLISHED BEFORE, it also has no place in the Galactik Football universe, where we are shown that, while the Zaelion galaxy has in canon issues, gender equality is not one of them.)

Initially he’d have that half smile on his face whilst getting an earful of their jumbled banter, his eyes flitting to whoever felt inclined to add onto the teasing next, like always he’d allow them to have their fun, for the most part, until he notices that you seem to be enjoying it almost a little too much.

He looks at you like he’s waiting for everyone else around the two of you to fall straight through the floor and into a dark spiraling abyss once Sumin’s hand rests against your knee, he tongues at the inside of his cheek, head tipping to the side as to urge you to go on, keep laughing when you’re looking to him at the mention of his name being said by one of the boys, like somewhere along the way you’d forgotten he was there and was just now reminded.

His face is so telling it provokes nerves to swell up from the lower region of your stomach, but also this sort of warmth that has your knees knocking together in a feeble attempt to keep the arousal at bay, an all too familiar feeling flourishing under his biting glare, lips wet, shiny under the light.

You aren’t so quick to move away from Sumin like he expects you to, instead you shift yourself closer, foot swinging over his thigh so that yours rests directly on top, Minjae’s jaw is pulled so tight that it tingles seeing the way his hand shifts higher up your leg in your adjustment, inviting you closer into him, and of course he refuses to make eye contact with either of you which sets Minjae off even more, the casualty of it makes him nauseous, treating you as if you were his girl?

of course, he wasn’t lying when he told her he wasn’t looking for a relationship right now, and that’s gotta be a huge let down, not just opportunity-wise but especially if she genuinely liked him. to put it in her own words from her titkok “to state the obvious, I didn’t get my perfect fantasy.”

Always, always, always listen to someone when they tell you what they want or are looking for in a relationship. They usually aren’t lying and they aren’t going to change their mind. That is how you get hurt. It took me a long time to listen to that advice. I was getting myself in situations where I got hurt past her current age, because I wasn’t listening! I would get in my head and start confusing sex with love and imagination. It’s not healthy!

but I see where she’s coming from. It hurts and it sucks and it’s a tough pill to swallow. Feeling wanted and needed but only from sex, is not a happy feeling. She will hopefully learn from this and listen in the future. But you can’t blame her for wanting more and trying to get it, because it’s an EASY trap to fall into.

that does not make what she did ok, but please remember we only have one side of the story and even so, it’s just tiny bits and pieces. Who knows what else he said or did. He could’ve said some sweet things and taken her on dates and treated her like a gf even though she wasn’t? We don’t know.

and when u first start talking about having sex, and you tell him you don’t have any experience, he is more than helpful.

He shows you how to get him off, walking you through each step. he doesn’t expect you to know anything, which is the most comforting part.

when he finished, he hugs you tight and curls up with you on his bed.

and when it’s your turn, he takes care of you so good. He holds your hand and rocks into you, kissing your forehead and wiping all other thoughts out of your head. he eats you out with such intensity, gripping your thighs and exhaling softly.
