Runt, the Ronin

I like to make new cats. I needed a bladesworn Char and after watching a certain TV show on Netflix (Blue eye Samura) I had the mighty urge for a Samurai Char(r). It basicly made my Samurai obsession go brrr again. Kenshin would be another influence for his character.

More information below the cut:

He was born male, but his genes got a little bit fucked up, that gave him a lot of female appearance - altering his standing in his Fahrer. Additionally he was small and frail. No one took him seriously. No one, despite a group of other Charr that were considered runts of their litter.

In his early days Runt was a very jealous Charr. That jealousy made him blind for the good things he already had in his life. He soon started to hate everything around him and about himself.

While his Warband Mates learned to live with the constant shaming by the others - he never got over it. He starts to mistook the friendly teasing of his friends as insults. That hatred soon ended with him letting his warband die during a mission. He could’ve helped,... but he turned his back on them… and so becoming a gladium.

He realized to late, that he lost a family. They always stood at his side - no matter what. But his own hatred made him blind,... Deeply ashamed by his decision, he leaves the Legions and starts to roam the world.

On his travel he gets his ass kicked by a female human - a Samurai. They soon become friends and she teaches him the way of a Samurai. So he becomes a Bladesworn. That's also the moment he finally gets on the right path to be a better person. He tries to make up for his past mistakes with good deeds and tries to find peace with his flaws. He keeps the name Runt, in honor of his former Warband. Later people often only call him Ronin.

Some random lil facts about him:

In the beginning he was a bitch about his feminine appearance. He now embraces it and is proud of it. He is also very chill about it, if people refer to him as she / her. Sometimes he plays with it. (maybe also enjoy it a little.)

You can call him Runt or Ronin - he introduces himself as Runt the Ronin.

His horns often fall of, so you see him often without them or just with stumps

he always has a piece of wheat or other plant in his mouth

he loves to whistle little melodies

he is a good fighter, but also a big dork and sometimes very clumsy.

he sometimes is so clumsy, he made it his fighting style - irritate the enemy and then hit hard

he gets drunk very fast,... but insists he can take more. He can’t.

he has a very soft, feminine voice - but he snores like a trainwreck

he tries to be an honorable man, by training hard and meditate every day. And most importantly: Standing up for the weak. Even if he has to face a mighty foe. He will face the fight - no matter his chance. He will never run away or turn his back to people in need.

he often behaves peaceful and calm - but he actually has some OCD. But he goes after that silently. If you prevent him from that, he can get really frustrated.

he still suffers from his self-hatred, why he always put a happy face on. He actually tries to never show any other emotion than that. He want to be a beacon of hope.

he tends to give a lot - maybe even to much. Making him very vulnerable to exploit

Oo boy where to I start. She emotionally manipulates the main character and then uses his emotions against him to revive his dad but evil. She ran a biker gang/cult and only let her three top generals know who she was. She went to extreme measures to get what she wanted, including burning down her palace and killing her adoptive parents.

some of her greatest hits include: Gaslighing Garmadon into hating Lloyd (his son), Gatekeeping being Garmadon's Son (even though she's not related to him and also a girl), Girlbossing her way to becoming the leader of a terrorist group while also being the Princess of Ninjago. siccing the terrorist group on the royal family, killing the king and queen because she hated them and didn't wanna be princess anyways, she'd rather be the evil puppet master behind a necromanced figurehead dictator.

Harumi is such a girlboss shes an orphan and was adopted by the emperor and empress and then BLEW UP THE PALACE AND KILLED THEM and she resurrected lord garmadon (evil!!!) and runs a criminal org/biker gang also she had this relationship with Lloyd where she pretty much just manipulated him but other than that I support her evilness

Okay so after an unfortunate tragic pass of her parents dying in a freak accident, she has dedicated her life in taking revenge on those who are even somewhat linked to their death. I'm talking, she manipulated her way into the royal family to get resources, starts a cult/gang worshiping one of the worst villains to ever hit the realms, and also completely plays with one of the ninja's feelings to get what she wants. Oh, yeah his feelings? She knew he had trauma, issues, just wanted to be loved, AND SHE USED THAT before leaving him to die on multiple occasions. She's also one of the few villains to actually win. Like she gets what she was aiming for, she wins. So yeah, Harumi is a girlboss.

P.I.X.A.L. Borg aka Samurai X

She gaslit Nya into thinking Ronin or Skylor we’re Samurai X, gatekeeped by protecting the monastery from several threats (including a literal Kaiju), and girlbossed constantly (See: the entirety of Ninjago Confidential)

she was programmed as an assistant, and developed love for another robot, robots dont HAVE love, but she found a way to love him!!! She was stuck as a computer program for a while after her body was destroyed, and then she secretly took on the role of Samurai X when she got a new body, and proceeded to kick MEGA ass! She beat the sentient eldritch goddess who happens to be hell itself, and then threw her into another afterlife!!! SHES AWESOME

Really just an incredible story. Shows exactly why Squall is the best, deadliest and most revered SeeD. Not just in physical power but because he can strategize with intense accuracy. And Rinoa’s coming into her sorcery, the Timber Owl’s growing up and growing a pair, the final battle, the steamy love scenes and SeeDs kicking major major ass... it’s got everything. Fuck I’m a happy fangirl.

So! This piece was fun! The sketch was giving me fits. I couldn’t get the perspective right until I started in with a glow brush to show my teenage artist daughter different light source examples, and wa-LA... I put a glowy line on the back of Squall’s big ass head of hair and perspective just pushed into place. Yay.

Guys, can we take a moment to look at a Ninjago character who's always been there, but is truly unappreciated?

...No, what? Who the fuck is "Dareth"? What are you on about?

I'm talking about Ronin.

For a kids show with a demographic of 6 year old boys (that's what they've been telling us since we were 6 but I'm not sure I believe them) it is surprisingly good at showcasing the morally ambiguous rainbow of villainy and 'bad people'.

In fact, I think the only case of true 'evil incarnate' that the show has is the Overlord- everyone else is shockingly sympathetic and, more importantly, WELL WRITTEN AS BAD GUYS, and Ronin was an excellent example of this- mostly because he has his own moral code and will not break it, even if the law is something he does not respect in the slightest. He respects people who can outwit him, and even when he's trying to capture the Ninja as a bounty, he doesn't do them the incredible disservice of underestimating them, because in his eyes that is an incredibly dishonest thing to do. He doesn't even let them underestimate themselves- and he makes a great 'that one uncle we don't talk about' kind of character, both because his appearances are usually minor and because sometimes he'll help them and sometimes he's the problem, it entirely depends on his own perceived morals, debts and dues. He's even got a soft spot for Nya because she thinks little of societal standards and makes a point of kicking everyone's ass in direct spite of what's expected of her, that's really fucking 3 dimensional for a character who can be described as the personification of a fucking raccoon.

Anyway, I wasn't actually going anywhere with this, I just feel like the really human nature and ambition of most of the mortal villains the Ninja encounter isn't talked about enough

Started watching Blue Eye Samurai. Thoughts while going through the first episode:

This character is definitely a girl masquerading as a boy. Or at least a female-bodied person. I think I remember that being in the promo art or something, but I don't think I needed the promo art to figure that out.

I normally don't mention anything related to spoilers, but jfc, nobody has mentioned just yet and I can't take screenshots due to Netflix being an ass, so I'mma point some things out

THIS HAS RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE MOVIE SPOILERS, GO WATCH THE MOVIE OR SKIP THIS POST IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE/READ SPOILERS

Now, in the first 4mins if the movie, I don't see nobody mentioning how Future/Adult Leo has Raph's and Donnie's masks around the halt (?) Of his sword, (he also only has one (1) sword, so he can't use his portal jumping mystic power that well) and also, this also really makes a reference to The Last Ronin (Mirage, I believe), or something like that, since I know for sure 3 out of 4 masks are in some sort of weapon, I don't really recall, since I don't read those comics

Not only that, but when the turtles are interrogating Casey Jones (Future Casey Jones? Future boy? Future boy), Donnie mentions Genius Apparel (that seems to be a TM that Donnie himself made. We can also see the logo on Casey's poncho thingy, and in his mask on the lower left corner when we have 1st person POV, ex: When Casey is talking about what to do, and plans to search for April, we can see the scene of his mission changing from "Find artifact" to something else), and not only that, we can also see the logo when the turtles are trying to stop Warren Stone and Hypno-potamus, when Donnie mentions "Get ready to Donnie'd by my mystic tech", his little purple electric wall thingy HAS THAT SAME LOGO

ALSO, IN THE FIRST 4MINS OF THE MOVIE, WE SEE A GIGANTIC VERSION OF S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N FALLING FROM THE SKY, AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE A RESISTANCE BASE BEING DECIMATED

And I THINK I found the way the future turtles go... If you know what I mean.

It seems Raph was the first to go, since concept art points out that Raph was just a mech used by future April, and who could have possibly created all the technology the resistance had? Donnie

So Raph was the first to go, Donnie created Mecha Raph, Donnie was the second to go, and that seemed to caused MANY problems for the resistance, and cause it's doom, Mikey was the third to go, after Leo ordered him to create a time portal to send Casey back in time, and the Leo was VAPORIZED by one of the Kraang mech thingies

Not only that, but like...

In all of the TMNT series (except maybe the OG one) Leo and Raph had always had have this whole thing when Raph ends up either in command of the team and something happens that messes it up. In short, this two had always have a competition (?) Of sorts towards the leadership position.

In Rise, Raph is finally the leader, but Splinter appoints Leo as the new one in the S2 finale, and that causes conflict.

Raph seemed to be angry at Leo for making the team so less... Professional? And Leo is like "Yeah, right, we're fine, everything's fine, what's the worst that can happen?" So we finally have the Raph vs Leo fight that they always have relating to leadership.

Not only that, but on the same fight, we see Leo having a FREAKING FLASHBACK MOMENT, LIKE WHAT THE FUCK!? He was ready to strike Kraang-Raph, but stopped at seeing his brother's face. Not only that, but for a few seconds after that, we can see Leo's eyes becoming smaller and himself looking somewhat disoriented, and like WHAT THE FUCK!? HOLY SHIT! HE HAD A (MOST POSSIBLE) FLASHBACK FROM WHEN RAPH SACRIFICED HIMSELF TO TAKE THE HIT FROM KRAANG, AND I JUST!?!?

Also, in that scene, for a HUGE second, I thought that the tentacle that Kraang used against Leo, that Raph took the hit from, ACTUALLY made a stab wound on Raph's shoulder and I PANICKED SO BADLY JSJSJSJ

Also, the whole "We are the... Teenage... Mutant... Ninja... Turtles!" Hit me really hard and It's one of my favorite scenes of the movie

Also also, what the hell is the shinny blue liquid that April got from her school? Did she explained it and I missed it? Or is it... Wait for it... Ooze! (I know it probably isn't because the Ooze in Rise appears in a neon green color, but like...? What if...?)

There's also the whole "Leo getting his ass kicked and then thrown through a window" thing since the 2003 series, and people have said that the whole movie it's that scenario for Rise Leo but DID ANYONE MISS IT!? LIKE!?!? I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE THAT SAW THAT, RIGHT!?

What I mean is, after Casey closes the portal, Kraang starts beating up Leo, and In his last punch against the blue bandana turtle, the whole thing they were standing in caves in, and Kraang sends Leo flying, that really references to Leo getting thrown through a window

Also during this scene, I SWEAR, I THOUGHT WE HAD LOST LEO FOR A HOT SECOND, LIKE HE WAS JUST THERE, AND HE WASN'T MOVING!

Not only that, but the small rock thingy at his back seems very similar to Raph's shell, including the new hole caused by Kraang, and it was shining in a fucking red like light!?! Hello???

Also, LEO WAS READY TO SAY "BYE CRUEL WORLD"?? LIKE, HE LITERALLY SAW THE SHINE OF MIKEY'S PORTAL AND SEEMED TO THINK THAT THAT WAS IT???? LIKE!??!?!?

Also something I would like to call attention to, the turtles were exhausted like, Raph couldn't move his body that well when he went to rescue Mikey and Donnie, Donnie was also really tired, and then Mikey with the portal and then Leo being beaten up??

Like damn bitch, give this kids a fucking rest

Also, when April and Splinter we're testing things to destroy the key, one of them was "Donnie's stomach" and I? Fucking? Lost it?, It was so hilarious wtf

And when the Kraang is gone and the turtles hug, after that there's this scene when a girl is looking at her phone and we can read the messages, one of them, the last one, is "our HEROES 💙🧡💜❤️" Or something pretty similar and I'm like?? Does New York KNOWS about the turtles?? Since when??? (Also, I haven't watched S2 because it's not in Netflix, so don't quote me on that)

Not only that, but when Cassandra sends the pictures to April, the last one has Cassandra giving the middle finger to the Kraang and it's covered up by an emoji

Also, when Leo and Raph and having that moment just after that, the toppings of Leo's pizza change??? Or was it just me???

Also, why didn't we got Casey saying 'Googala'?

And for another HOT second, I thought that Leo was gonna lose an arm, don't ask me why cause idk

And like, Donnie protecting Mikey from the Kraang-Metro monster, when Mikey mentions Donnie's soft shell after his battle shell was destroyed, Donnie smiled at Mikey (or I think he did) for a fraction of a second, as in assuring him that everything was gonna be fine and I can't-

Any WAYS, that was my rant

Main points (or most of them):

Future Leo has Raph's and Donnie's masks on his sword

From what I could gather, in the future, Raph was the first to go, Donnie created a Mech version of Raph (shown in a concept art for the movie), and he himself was the second to go, the resistance fell, and it lead to the first 4mins of the movie, Mikey followed and then Leo

Donnie apparently has a TM, and we can see the logo for it inside Casey's mask, his poncho, and his mystic wall during the Warren and Hypno persecution and in Casey's entire tech (such as his wrist grappling hook when Donnie presses down)

We see some sort of S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. that was turned into a airship of sorts that falls from the sky

Leo vs Raph (that's it, that's the whole point)

Leo seemed to have PTSD flashbacks related to when Raph sacrificed himself to get the hit from Kraang

Leo did indeed, got thrown through a window, but in this case was a alternate dimension rock (and an entire movie...)

We can also see a rock similar to Raph's shell during the whole Leo vs Kraang fight after Casey closes the portal

Leo was ready to say "goodbye world" for a HOT second there

This boys need some god-damned rest

the misako suicide attempt thing is actually hilarious and i still wonder how they got away with it to this day. the episode came out in 2013 which is just. idk that makes it so much funnier to me. also one episode after being introduced the writers were like ok time to make her try to kill herself

(Arleigh and how she looks as “Ronin the Ranger”)

Fallout 4 OC companion:

Arleigh (ex-Gunner/Old-school Gunner)

Arleigh grew up knowing the old Gunners, the ones led by Captain Algernon. And when Wes took over, she refused to fall in line, instead choosing to leave the Commonwealth. Instead of working as a mercenary, she chose to monitor the wildlife and deal with any beasts that got too close to settlements.

She developed the alias of “Ronin the Ranger” (aka “The Monster Hunter”) to keep her identity hidden, which was also helped by her build and voice that were unusually masculine, making most people mistake her for a man. When she returned to the Commonwealth, the Gunners had become the worst beast she had ever dealt with.

I hope she won’t come off as bland and boring, she’s still a work in progress and I struggle a bit with dialogue... as you might see in the “companions react” part.

NAME: Arleigh (aka Ronin the Ranger, The Monster Hunter)

FOUND: Small cabin on the highway close to Lexington.

COMPANION PERK: 

Old-school Gunner - Player gains +20% ballistic and energy resistance, and a +20% chance to successfully intimidate Gunners.

QUEST:

Arleigh would be a SS2 companion, available after “Where there’s smoke”. The player will tell her about their trouble with the Gunners and she’d offer to accompany them in case the Gunners would come back.

She will continue to be a somewhat normal companion and give a quest when you reach 750 (confidant). She will ask you to help her bring some things to a spot down southwest, where she will share a secret and thank you for being a good friend (and then I'm thinking she'd end the quest with a friendly race to the Glowing Sea to fight the first beast you see).

(SPOILER FOR CHAPTER 2:)

She will know where they took Jake and give the player the option to skip checking on The Ron, but she will dislike it if they take that option (since it's clear the Gunners might've hurt him). Additionally, players with low charisma will be able to get Wise on their side by letting Arleigh speak to him.

she was programmed as an assistant, and developed love for another robot, robots dont HAVE love, but she found a way to love him!!! She was stuck as a computer program for a while after her body was destroyed, and then she secretly took on the role of Samurai X when she got a new body, and proceeded to kick MEGA ass! She beat the sentient eldritch goddess who happens to be hell itself, and then threw her into another afterlife!!! SHES AWESOME
