okay, there's A LOT to unpack here.

let's say that mike is straight and we're supposed to take their romantic relationship seriously.

i really don't understand how can people read this and think whatever mike's feelings for el are, that they are in any way "normal" or "healthy".

kinda brings me back to s3 when he got mad because she finally found herself a friend and was having fun without him. and in s4 at how dismissive he was of her when she was talking about her new friends and her life in lenora at the airport and rink-o-mania. plus the way the monologue was only centered around himself and his own needs was concerning too.

I know the "possessive bf" and the "you're mine only" tropes are very common and are used to make the audience see how "special" two characters are to each other, but in this case, I think the writers made a big mistake on using this tropes for milkvan giving el's upbringing.

if we're supposed to take their relationship seriously I don't understand why the writers decided to make mike's feelings for her seem so selfish.

and it's not like they don't know how to write selfless and unconditional love. they've literally showed us this kind of love many times with the other characters. like will sacrificing his own feelings for mike's sake and happiness. lucas unconditionally staying by max's side even when she kept pushing him away. with jonathan being ready to let nancy go so she doesn't have to sacrifice her dreams for him. and with joyce risking her own life to bring hopper back.

mike's "love" is really lacking in comparison.

and this is why I could never get behind their relationship or support it even if it turns out they've been writing mike as straight all along.

When people don’t acknowledge that Pearls is as much of a daughter to Phoenix as Trucy.

When people don’t add Sebastian into the Miles family and only see Kay as Miles’ adopted daughter.

When people don’t add Kay to the Phoenix, Miles and Trucy family.

When people don’t add Sebastian or Apollo to the Trucy, Kay, Miles and Phoenix family.

When Franziska and Phoenix hate each other and only tolerate each other for the sake of Miles and Trucy.

When Klavier and Ema aren’t see as worsties.

When Miles is seen as not seeing Ema as a daughter either.

When people think that Phoenix doesn’t care as much about Ema as he does to all of his adopted weird girl assistants.

When people see Athena and Simon as lovers instead of siblings/family.

When people don’t think that Phoenix sees Apollo and Athena as part of his family and then they get left out of the loop.

When people don’t make the prosecutor’s office a family.

When Phoenix, Gumshoe and Maya aren’t seen as besties.

When Miles doesn’t care about Gumshoe.

When Miles doesn’t see all the others in his life as family/friends except for Franziska, Trucy and Phoenix.

When Phoenix and Miles are seen as hating Larry and not wanting to hang out with him.

Will probably add more. Also, not saying that people are wrong for viewing the characters like this, it’s just sometimes when they do this it really irks me because I interpret their relationships and characters differently.

I don’t understand why Kishimoto never added Kakashi having thoughts about Gai when he died in the pain assault. It’s like he doesn’t want his relationship with Gai to have depth but then adds all these interactions and feelings that show how much he means to Kakashi.

He thinks of his dead friends and family, he thinks of Konoha 11, but he doesn’t think about his longest and biggest support? Not even a passing thought?

Might Gai is Kakashi’s best friend and rival, he isn’t a nuisance to him and he doesn’t think he’s less than him. Their relationship has substance and evidence to show how much they care about one another, im sick of Kishimoto and his constant need to diminish it then prop it up and then diminish it again. How can he be so inconsistent with relationships and character writing??

Shinjiham is cute when it’s romantic but tbh I think i vastly prefer the idea of them being best friends instead. Like, neither of them really saw it coming and weren’t really looking to get another best friend (Shinji has Akihiko, Kotone has Junpei and Yukari respectively) but it happens anyway. Kotone takes a liking to Shinji much faster than she does anyone else and I’d say a big reason is just the fact that he’s so reserved that it allows Kotone to do most of the talking while he just listens and they love this arrangement cuz Kotone doesn’t get to talk about her own interests very much. Though I think some of her needs to talk to Shinji stems from this insecurity that he isn’t happy in the group and she has this people pleasing problem and wants everyone to be happy so she makes a much bigger effort to talk to Shinji. And it’s very unfortunate because Shinji intentionally acts cold and distant because he doesn’t want to form any attachments because he wants to die soon, but aaaaaaaagh dammit this girl just keeps talking to him and being sweet and encouraging him to engage in his interests and share them with the others and he just can’t seem to say no when she’s got those damn puppy eyes. And Kotone is just able to get him out of his shell by being persistent but not in an overwhelming way, she’s very cheerful and supportive of him. And Shinji is able to offer her support by encouraging her to talk about herself and by making sure she’s taking care of herself. They just click really well and make such a positive dent in each other’s lives and it’s all about basic acts of kindness going a long way you know?

okay I just need to get something off my chest. I'm a member of the lgbt+ community, and some of the discussions I've seen online about Boston have really rubbed me the wrong way tbh. like, countless people seem to imply that he's a terrible person because he's promiscuous?? there's nothing wrong with sleeping around! it's not inherently immoral! I know that in this circumstance a lot of people are saying it jokingly, but I've heard a lot of people irl - both outside of the community and within it - be really crappy and rude about m|m being promiscuous, like really looking down on them for it as if it's some sort of failing on their part. and it's not! again, in Only Friends I know there's more to it, and there's cheating and hurt feelings and whatnot involved, but Boston has not committed to a monogamous relationship with anyone and he is not morally in the wrong for simply sleeping with people. it's his body and that's his perogative! so, idk it'd just be nice if we could tone it down on the whole "Boston sleeping around makes him a terrible person" thing ig

Being a woc fan of Bridgerton can be a struggle, especially when it comes to liking the poc characters on the show, especially the woc. Like I remember when s1 came out and the blatant microaggressions and just plain racism coming from this fandom was atrocious. You had people spewing very hateful things about Charlotte, Marina, and Simon and undermining the latter two's pain and trauma at the hands of the white characters---Marina was treated terribly by the Featheringtons and, whether you like Penelope or not, you cannot deny that she also played a part by releasing that letter to the Ton and Simon was violated Daphne no matter how people try to spin the story to offer her some form of sympathy (it still blows my mind that people would want to though).

S2 is just as bad (not even including how they changed the Sharma family's storyline than how it was in the books when that wasn't necessary) and the racist undertones many of the fans have towards Mary and Edwina (as well as Kate but for her it's carries more brown woman needing to be saved by a white man when Anthony is involved because a lot of you all in the fandom are quick to use this trope such as "oh, he's the only one who truly knows her"). The lack of screen time for this family really ends up hurting them to but even with that, whether you like Mary and Edwina or not, it would be a lie to deny the racism a lot in the fandom hold towards them (and how that falls onto the actresses because it was very apparent how many in the fandom couldn't let two Desi women shine without having to bring down the other and Netflix played into that too for drama) and paints every small thing they do as being terrible crimes but in the same breath will not have the same smoke for the Bridgertons, who have their own set of problems (but because they are also the main family, among other things, they are provided more grace without consequences).

I feel like I get more and more pissed off anytime I watch q!Bad make a move. So here’s the rant after seeing the clip and following with what @/daisyychainssj said about Leo’s Ninho room:

Why on god’s green earth would he allow Bagi into Leo’s room and allow her to grab the warp into the room.

Yeah maybe it was to do with the size of the room but maybe they could have you know waited and asked to check Richas’ room or waited until her parent or Leo was online.

He also knows full well that there is hollow walls inside the Ninho that could be turned into unofficial/temporary rooms for those eggs and that Leo’s room doesn’t have to be touched at all.

But also since he remembers enough about the Ninho and how it works with his memory loss then he goddamn knows the significance of those rooms and he just broke the main fucking rule.

Which is that the ninho rooms are SAFE SPACES FOR THE EGG THAT OWNS THE ROOM, that ONLY the egg, their parents and TRUSTED individuals can reach.

Do Leo and Bagi know each other?? Hmm that’s looking like a solid no. How well does Leo know the new eggs? Wait they don’t know and neither does Leo because they just recently met. Do they forget Leo is shy and not always social? yes she trust the eggs she knows but how often does she get online for anyone but her family?? Looking like about 5% which is usually because Foolish or Roier have outside factors stopping them from taking care of her.

Also he’s not her parent, he doesn’t get to make decisions for Leo just because he took care of her like 2 or 3 times and he knows her parent. That’s stupid and demeans Foolish’s parenting.

In conclusion, Bad should have never stepped foot in Leo’s room with Bagi today. It makes no sense lore wise or even just him showing her. Despite his “respect” for all the eggs, he really needs to check himself first before he does anything. Because any time he’s messed with an eggs stuff it’s always been Leo and sorry but Leo isn’t Foolish. That dynamic should be keep completely separate and to say this isn’t disrespect is a lie because it is.

This isn’t even like bad roleplay anymore it’s just disrespect because how in lore will any of them know about it unless bagi uses it in front of them.
