i think one thing we all agree on is that it would be absolutely batshit insane to have will express how much mike means to him and really cement that will is in love with mike only to have him rejected ??? you’re telling me that they wanted to perfect the van scene only for will to end up alone??? you’re telling me that all those stares between mike and will mean NOTHING??? you’re telling me “hawkins is not the same without you” isn’t a coded love confession??? you’re telling me that a painting will made for mike that el told mike about in her letter to him that she thinks the painting is for someone will likes then mike receives the painting and is told el commissioned it but that’s a lie and we’re reminded once again how much mike HATES being lied to??? what about mike feeling insecure in his relationship with el and not saying ‘i love you’ and him only regretting it not because he actually does love her and wanted to tell her the right way, but because she left and potentially put herself in danger??? he says he didn’t want to tell her he loved her because he was afraid he would lose her, only to have the poor girl crying and begging in front of him to say “i love you” but he wouldn’t so his fear actually did come true by NOT saying it!! we can’t forget the formation of will, el, and mike when they’re onscreen together — will being in the middle is a distinctive film choice!! and that’s only a scratch of the surface of byler proof.

there’s too many dots connecting in all the places that lead to “byler endgame”. if byler isn’t endgame then what the hell was the reason for purposefully filming and editing these scenes to hone in on the dynamic of will and mike with will being in love with mike and mike not being able to balance a friendship with will and a relationship with el if it all means at the end we get mike and will saying they’re “only friends” ??? MAKE IT MAKE FUCKING SENSE BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE TO LEAD ON A DYNAMIC LIKE THAT ESPECIALLY IN THE 2ND TO LAST SEASON

The cinematic cutscenes from TOTK sucked.

Theyre mostly just characters upright, idle, giving exposition. I was bored when sonia died because of how lacking in emotion the whole scene was played out, from the hardly-there voice acting to the models robotic movements.

I was bored every time a guardian ancestor passed on the stone, the "imprisoning war" was a footnote of a lackluster 6v1 where everyone just stood there or floated in slow motion in the periphery in a strike pose.

The only cutscenes that had a lot of movement were ganon-centric or reused preset animations for creatures (like the molduga assault or the creation of ganons army)

God I love Miorine Rembrant. She's prickly and difficult, needy while still being distant and cold, but she still desperately needs that affection because her attitudes are only the results of how she's been raised as someone to be sold off for marriage.

And ironically in trying to free Suletta from being associated with the political backstabbing that reduces people to gamepieces, she's ended up repeating her own father's mistake's verbatium, and hurt Suletta much more than she realized.*

And then when the penny finally drops and Miorine realizes she's been used, again, by an adult as part of a complicated political gambit, she doesn't curse out Prospera at all - Miorine simply looks at the gurella warfare before her and says "I did this".

Because oops! She got played!

*(Of note, unlike the audience, Miorine doesn't know about Eri. When Suletta talks about Aeriel being her sister, Miorine just lumps it in with the rest of Suletta's "odd mercurian bumpkin" traits. She didn't realize Prospera's proposed plan literally involved stealing Suletta's sister from her!)

We need to talk about Boeing...

You cannot fool me JoJo. As fortuitous as I feel to see Mond's gorgeous scheming face on my screen once more, I do not believe for one second he is only going to cause mayhem for TopMew. You may argue SandRay have enough to deal with for now drama wise, Rays journey in rehab, whatever Ray's father asked of Sand, the apartment fight. I will simply say to you my brethren, enough is never enough for JoJo. That beautiful conniving bitch. Love that man.

In the preview we see Boeing is causing issues for Top and Mew. in the words of Taylor it was so nice everyone being friends again. There Mew was giving Top a second chance. buT lo and behold there has been a Boeing a Hoeing around these parts. This was not something Mew was envisioning having to intercept on his merry skip of sweet mercy.

But whatever. Mew is gonna do what Mew gotta do. We need to talk about the Boeing of it all more. He's here and he's ready to stir up chaos. He's diving in balls first baby. Clearly quite happy to be Tops on call emergency fuck service when the insomnia pills just won't do it, this does not surprise me one bit. It makes sense to me he'd compete with Mew for Top. Boeing has always been in some pointless game with himself of becoming Tops priority. Or at least something that Top cannot completely let go of.

What surprises me more is that we aren't seeing more drama for Sand with shitty ex boyfriend of the year back in town right when Sand thinks he can finally be the first choice of someone he has come to love. How is this gonna set him back? After all, Top assured Sand that Boeing and him were long done. If Sand sees them together, it's clearly not the case now. How will he digest that? The mere mention of not being enough for Boeing set Sand off on vengeance is my middle name mode not too long ago. He's never been great at holding Boeing accountable for his part in fucking off with Top and leaving Sand in the dirt.

Because here's the thing. No matter how Sand sees it Boeing was not "stolen", Boeing made a choice. And is seemingly still making that choice, Top to the detriment of his own well being every time without fail. I am so very hopeful that seeing Boeing clinging to Tops scraps of attention again will wake Sand up enough for him to get the closure he needs from his ex being around, leave Boeing fiending after Top and come to the realisation that Boeing would've never been right for him. Never would've put him first the way Ray is at least trying to choose Sand's love right now, choose getting better in rehab even though it'll feel like it nearly fucking kills him for Sand's love.

But on the other hand, with Ray away in a rehab, experiencing relapse and withdrawal and having moments where he switches back to the old cold Ray on his journey to find his best healed self, there leaves room for Sand to feel scared and lonely and doubtful too. Perfect time for someone like Boeing to slink on in and play with those emotions... I just really hope Sand shows us how he's never yielded to anyone like he does for Ray with this messy bitch and doesn't give in to Boeing's flimsiness this time around. I want Sand to get the chance to finally hold Boeing accountable for his part in the downfall of their relationship instead of pinning it all on this rivalry with Top.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was everything I wanted and more. As an OG fan of Jet Set Radio, and a diehard fan of Future, this was just...beautiful.
