'sentraia' was created so that i could have somewhere to shove my misc. anime-related fics. currently i'm working on a lot of bnha fics, but i've got a couple other fandoms i plan on dipping into.

i'm an asam adult (25+) who uses they/them pronouns. i'm NOT japanese though so all japanese you see in my fics have been researched and therefore have a chance of being wrong. feel free to leave any corrections for me, i greatly appreciate it :')

i love writing supportive parents so unless it's necessary for the story my inko and hisashi are good parents trying to Make Things Work for izuku. unless stated otherwise, my hisashi has a dragon-head mutation and his Quirk is Fire Breath.

i don't have any specific pairings i super love/default to besides himiocha/togaocha. ships will always depend on what's fun for the plot, but if you see an inkling of something or another feel free to comment on it.

I’ll never forget when I was arguing with a person in favor of total prison abolition and I asked them “what about violent offenders?” And they said “Well, in a world where prisons have been abolished, we’ll have leveled the playing field and everyone will have their basic needs met, and crime won’t be as much of an issue.” And then I was like “okay. But…no. Because rich people also rape and murder, so it isn’t just a poor person thing. So what will we do about that?” And I don’t think they answered me after that. I’m ashamed to say I continued to think that the problem was that I simply didn’t understand prison abolitionists enough and that their point was right in front of me, and it would click once I finally let myself understand it. It took me a long time to realize that if something is going to make sense, it needs to make sense. If you want to turn theory into Praxis (I’m using that word right don’t correct me I’ll vomit) everyone needs to be on board, which mean it all needs to click and it needs to click fast and fucking clear. You need to turn a complex idea into something both digestible and flexible enough to be expanded upon. Every time I ask a prison abolitionist what they actually intend to do about violent crime, I get directed to a summer reading list and a BreadTuber. It’s like a sleight-of-hand trick. Where’s the answer to my question. There it is. No wait, there it is. It’s under this cup. No it isn’t. “There’s theory that can explain this better than I can.” As if most theory isn’t just a collection of essays meant to be absorbed and discussed by academics, not the average skeptic. “Read this book.” And the book won’t even answer the question. The book tells you to go ask someone else. “Oh, watch this so-and-so, she totally explains it better than me.” Why can’t you explain it at all? Why did you even bring it up if you were going to point me to someone else to give me the basics that you should probably already know? Maybe I’m just one of those crazy people who thinks that some people need to be kept away from the public for everyone’s good. Maybe that just makes me insane. Maybe not believing that pervasive systemic misogyny could be solved with a UBI and a prayer circle makes me a bad guy. But it’s not like women’s safety is a priority anyway. It’s not like there is an objective claim to be made that re-releasing violent offenders or simply not locking them up is deadly.

I’ve seen some people suggest the idea of TF One Starscream and Megatronus Prime having been a couple, and while I’m not entirely sure whether I ship it (the potential skystar here has a grip on me), I will say the sheer comedy of the situation makes me strongly consider it

But also in some seriousness, I do like the idea with how it relates to Megatron. I remember some months ago someone having a ficlet on here with this ship, where basically Starscream feels like he has to be responsible for and protect Megatron because he failed Megatronus, and because he sees Megatron sort of like a son they never had (or at least I think, it’s been a while since I read it and I don’t know how to find it again), and I like that idea. It’s interesting and also works with the concept that this Starscream is significantly older than Megatron

does anyone else get's bothered by the fact that evotars are called AI's? I mean, from a purely technical standpoint they are. their entire existence relies on operation of the CrossWorlds servers (or, potentially, Instatainment servers in general), their abilities are contained within the game, but, like... doesn't AI usually means "entirely made by x"? like it's an intelligence not because it's borrowed/copied, but because it's created to be intelligent, it's intelligence is artificial, and artificial, al least on our planet, means human made, not human "generated". it's like taking a photo, printing it out and saying that the printed object is entirely man-made, which, i mean, is true, there's a lot of human effort that came into it but in essence, the fact that light bounces off differently from various materials, the way light reacts to lenses with all kinds of properties, the chemistry oh physics that come into play for the image to be captured — these that make the photo possible. real photos aren't machine generated. Reborn World Swap

A scenario that’s been on my mind for a while now is one where Reborn gets hit with the TYL bazooka but instead of swapping places with his TYL self, the bazooka malfunctions and instead he’s swapped roles with the Reborn from a parallel world (that more closely aligns with the canon KHR timeline. Let's call him Canon!Reborn for now), where he never met Apple and she never existed. And this swap happens to last for a few days. No one can tell why.

Canon!Reborn coming to the In Somnis world confused as to who this woman is and why she appears heartbroken when he says he doesn’t know her (and yet she’s strangely okay with it too. There’s a forlorn acceptance and understanding in her expression that he decides he also does not like very much at all).

It also annoys him the way everyone else is shocked he doesn’t know her and quite upset at him for it. He ends up sorta avoiding Apple (not in a rude or awkward way but really that's just a stranger to him so he treats her as such) and just goes about his regular routine of torturing tutoring his students. I think over time though he would unintentionally grow attached. Maybe not quite in love with this strange but warm woman but he grows fond. And maybe. Just maybe if given the chance he could see himself loving her too. And there’s a few other things in the IS world which I think would shock Reborn but I can’t say because of spoilers.

Meanwhile the IS!Reborn being in the canon-aligned universe and wondering where the heck Apple is. This world is fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. His students are well, Tsuna is happy and growing and learning each day. But it’s remarkably emptier to him. Not to mention he feels especially trigger happy whenever people give him strange looks when he asks about Apple or certain other people.

This Reborn isn't happy about this world (neither of them are for different reasons). When they do eventually switch back, there's a wistfulness there as they contemplate their own set of circumstances how different the world is on the other side.

You know. If Crocodad Real. How would Luffy even react if he found out. Like really, how the fuck would he feel about it.

'Cause like how I went over in this post (briefly at the end), we don't even know how Luffy feels about Crocodile as he is right now, so can you imagine how that bombshell would impact things

Like my running theory is that Luffy still hates Crocodile but maybe not quite as much as pre-Impel Down since he kiiinda owes him etc

And Luffy does not seem to give a shit about blood connections, at least not that much. Like don't get me wrong, Luffy's family are the people who were there for him when he was a child, those are the people he cares about and his bio-parents don't really matter. But also, honestly, I think the reason Luffy doesn't give a shit about who his parents are is because he doesn't know them. Luffy cares about people who he knows and likes, and while he doesn't give a shit about Dragon right now, it's arguably because he simply just doesn't know him. If the two actually get to meet and know each other, like if Luffy takes a liking Dragon, he'll probably accept Dragon as his dad and as his family. But on his own terms. It's up to Luffy to decide

And that's why like. How would Luffy react to finding out he has another dad and that one is fucking Crocodile. Because he already hates the man. It would not be happy news for him I'm sure

The other thing is that normally Luffy does not give a flying fuck about people's sad backstories. He didn't care to hear what happened to Nami and her village for example, because what really mattered was that there was a person he cared about who was deeply hurt and in danger and he wanted to help said person. And that's where I'm so torn. Because on one hand, it would be perfectly on-brand for Luffy to not give a shit of Crocodile had a sob story to tell. But also, I could imagine Luffy being so fucking confused over the news that he'd want to hear the truth of like, who what where how why, in detail. So that, you know, he could make his own decision and figure out if he wants to considder Crocodile is other dad or disown him.

Like, both feel like things Luffy would do

So really, would the real deciding factor might be just... the circumstances where Luffy finds out???

God knows, I can not imagine Crocodile himself telling Luffy anything ever. The kid already hates him, he knows it, so he'd probably think it'd be for the best if Luffy never found out

So how else could Luffy find out then?

As far as we know, the only other person who could confirm it would be Dragon himself, and considdering how he probably feels about his ex (see: Alabasta Coup Attempt), I can't imagine him wanting to talk about Crocodile to Luffy in lenght or in a positive light. Like I can't imagine Dragon wanting to tell Luffy at all is the point, not unless he wanted to like apologize to Luffy because it is arguably his fault Luffy and Crocodile fought in Alabasta to near-death to begin with. (Sidenote since we don't know how the break-up happened to begin with, it's totally possible Crocodile could've asked Dragon to never let their kid find out what happened to his "mom")

And now, this is where I'm gonna go completely off the rails, but. As I was wondering if there was any other way Luffy could find out...

S-Croc is made with Crocodile's DNA.

(And actually before I even go into S-Croc, super quick sidenote: If Kuma can extract memories out of people and allow other people to literally see them... Like I can't tell if Kuma's memories got absorbed by Bonney when she looked into them or if Kuma's Memory Bubble is still on Egghead, but if viewing the memories isn't the same as having them inserted into a vessel permanently... Like if Kuma isn't turbo-dead, could there be a scenario where we have Kuma (or S-Bear) yeet out Croc's memories and have Luffy just look into them? Because god knows Crocodile might just refuse to speak about it and that could be the only way to get The Whole Truth if Dragon doesn't want to talk about it either?) (Of course, Crocodile would understand just How Persistent Luffy is so if Luffy just kept on annoying him about it, Crocodile could maybe give up eventually because he knows he can't get Luffy to piss off until he spills the beans)

So currently the Strawhat's plan is for them to go and escort the Vegapunks to Elbaf (if nothing goes funny after the flashback is over, which remains to be seen)

2. There is the mystery of what sex S-Croc is going to be, because there is a possibility that if Crocodile is trans then his Seraphim could be pre-T (though this entirely depends on whether or not Ivankov's HRT changes even the DNA of person. Since it's MAGIC HRT I would prefer it to, not gonna lie, and I would not appreciate any "you may look different but your DNA will tell the truth!" rhetoric in the story but I may be asking too much from Oda)

3. And there's also the mystery of what Devil Fruit ability S-Croc might have, since all the Seraphim have been given Fruit powers, and we know Vegapunk can't replicate Crocodile's Sand Logia.

All things considdered, I think the actual, most likely known ability S-Croc might end up with would be like, Mr 3's wax powers (hilariously), mainly because I could imagine it being flexible enough to work in Crocodile's fighting style, so it'd be the easiest for S-Croc to adapt to (like if you can make anything from wax, then why not sharp blades to fling at people) (Also we know Vegapunk would have access to this power since Mr 3 was in Impel Down, when they also got Daz' powers)

But also I had joked before how it'd be funny if S-Croc was a Crocodile Zoan for no reason. Like it'd be fitting since Crocodile was already the Only Logia of the OG Shichibukai, so making his Seraphim the Only Zoan would be funny as hell (if it's even possible, which we can't say if it will/won't be). Additionally, making him a Crocodile Zoan would be hysterically on-the-nose.

(Sidenote: If there was a crocodile Zoan Fruit, what sub-category do you think it'd fall into? Like would it be Ryu Ryu like all the dinosaur-themed Zoans are, or maybe even a different model of Uo Uo (same as Kaidou)? Since "wani" could be considdered a different type of serpent-dragon, and if Vegapunk was researching how to recreate Kaidou's fruit, it's plausible he might've accidentally recreated some other related-fruit in the process or afterwards?? (Also since Kaidou's Uo Uo is a specific model (Seiryu) it would make sense if there was another Uo Uo model Fruit, and this could be an excelent opportunity to use it))

The thing about Zoans though is that, as it's been brought up once or twice before, Zoan fruits can kind of have a "mind of their own" and influence the user in unexpected ways.

And as all we Crocodad Truthers know.

Crocodiles are protective of their babies.

ALSO: The Seraphim do have enough personal will-power that they may (slightly) disobey orders they've been given. Case-and-point, S-Snake undoing the Petrification on the Strawhats after Luffy asked her to, since S-Snake is fond of Luffy just like Hancock is

Sidenote, it was kind of made a point how Vegapunk considdered his artificial replica of Kaidou's dragon fruit a compete failure simply because instead of a blue dragon, the user would turn into a pink one instead. So if Vegapunk tried to make a Seraphim of Crocodile, knowing full-well he couldn't even give the Seraphim the same ability as the OG, and then the Seraphim turns out the wrong sex for no reason?? I could see him being confused as hell and considder S-Croc "a failed Seraphim"

So really, all we'd really need to happen would be for the Strawhats to somehow encounter the remaining three Seraphim while escorting the Vegapunks to Elbaf. Mind you, IDK how that could even happen since as far as we know they've been deployed the Emptee Bluffs

And then just have S-Croc either disobey orders to hunt Luffy or even even have him be protective of Luffy (following that Zoan Instinct, one even he can't explain, it's just Instinct). Have Sanji be like "hey why the fuck is this one a girl, isn't it supposed to be Crocodile", followed by Vegapunk explaining this Seraphim was a failure for reasons even he can't understand

Then have Jinbei remember the conversation Crocodile and Ivankov had at Impel Down (suspicious considdering Ivankov's abilities and this "failed Seraphim"), and maybe if Crocodile had any involvement with the Revolutionaries and Robin was suspicious of him she could even bring that up

Along with any other minor details that may be bothering the crew about the whole deal

And so if the Strawhats and Vegapunk just put all their braincells together and rubbed them real hard, they could maybe come to a hypothesis as to why S-Croc is a "failure" and protective of Luffy, and maybe even a potential explanation as to why The Real Crocodile was protective of Luffy in Marineford for no fucking reason

And maybe, just maybe, Vegapunk could confirm that suspicion with a DNA test. All he needs to do is check Luffy's and compare it to Crocodile's.

Not sure Luffy would want to do the DNA test, like knowing Luffy he might prefer to just ask Crocodile in person if they ever ran to each other again

But boy, if he somehow did agree to a DNA test, and there was a match... oh boy

But again. This entire scenario is BEYOND off-the-rails. Technically plausible! But honestly if Luffy is ever gonna find out (assuming Crocodad Real) then it's gonna be from Dragon

oughhhh I wish my thoughts about the au weren't so incoherent 99% of the time so that I could talk about it more

it's just so... the sheer size of the world is so much bigger than the smp. this world has billions of people. yet here they are, c!dream and c!wilbur, in some random town in utah. they're the only familiar face in this giant world. (technically there are other members of the smp in this world, but it's not like c!dream and c!wilbur know this).

they don't really talk about their shared history, but it still inhabits the space around them. c!wilbur wakes to cold sheets every morning, but it doesn't change the fact that c!dream sleeps in the same bed as him every night. c!wilbur hated the fact that there was such a blatant reminder of the smp in his house. he hated when c!dream left for a week. c!dream didn't initially want to stay with c!wilbur. but, as far as he knows, there's not another familiar face in this whole entire world.

c!wilbur is in therapy by time c!dream arrives. it takes months for him to even bring up the mere idea of c!dream trying therapy. they start leaning on each other. they start caring about each other. c!wilbur hates himself for how much he wants c!dream. c!dream just wants c!wilbur to wash away the pain he doesn't admit is there. c!wilbur is practically drowning in guilt when he looks at what c!dream's become. a part of c!dream resents c!wilbur. a part of c!wilbur resents c!dream. they don't talk about it until they do. eventually, eventually they try couple's group therapy.

things get better. then they get worse. and then they get so much better.

at some point, much later, c!dream looks at c!wilbur—once again complaining about the people who don't know how to use the traffic circle even though c!wilbur can't even drive—and he thinks, I love you. at some point, c!wilbur looks at c!dream—sweat causing his hair to stick to his forehead, swollen lips tugged into a smirk—and he thinks, I love you.

they want each other—they crave each other—and c!wilbur hates himself for it. then they care about each other, and it makes c!dream want to snarl and bare his teeth. then they love each other, and they realize that they love this soft, domestic epilogue that they stumbled into years ago.

it gets better. they heal. they don't talk about everything until they do, and then those hurts get better, too. and some days it still feels like they don't really deserve this peace they've found, but they love it anyway.

and they have friends. friends who give them christmas gifts and invite them to new year's parties. friends who laugh with them and bring them baked goods.

eventually they stumble across more people from the smp. it's not fine until it is. which is kinda the big thing with this au. it eventually gets better.

So I was trying to write more of that fic I complained about yesterday, but I can’t get myself to do it, I don’t know how to write the dialogue of that particular scene, so instead I just decided to maybe try redesigning Alpha Trion. He’s one of the two characters of that story, to explain the correlation here

Granted, this isn’t his current day form, this is most likely his age when he was fighting Liege Maximo instead

It’s still a work in progress, I’m not sure how satisfied I am with it. But I think I find it better than the old one at least

Also with two different color schemes because I don't know if I want to go for something more in line with his Aligned color scheme, which I admittedly quite like, or something closer to his g1 colors, but with pink now because I like that color on him. I think I like the Aligned colors more though

I'm really missing my cardboard sheets at the moment, they would have been helpful in this endeavor

Probably also another factor in the design process is that I just got a new iPad after my old one broke, and currently it has neither a screen protector nor a case, so to me it feels a lot more fragile than my old one, and I don't want to do too much to it right now. Also I had a screen protector with a certain texture that the new one doesn't. I feel like that impacted the process and also why there's only this one design. Doing the lineart was really satisfying though, I will say

He's also got a scarf here, not entirely sure why but I wanted some cloth on him. But I might change this, I'm not sure how I feel on it here

I don't know, I'm definitely open to more design changes. Might do a full body design instead, I feel like I'll have more to work with that way

I also want to give some rambles about his current lore, so I'll put that under the cut here, because it'll probably go on too long

So I realized while writing all of this that I was probably going on too long, especially if this isn't the "final" design I'm working with, so I'm putting all the details in another draft for another day, and just giving you some of the basic notes here

He was created as A-3 under Functionist rule, meant to be a miner for cyber-matter (the stuff protoforms are made out of), but wanted to study it instead

He was a child during Megatronus' time and met him once

Took part in the Liege Maximo conflict as a young adult, being there for the deaths of The Fallen and Liege Maximo

Knew Beta and Impactor from that time

Knows the true identity of The Fallen (somehow), and that Liege was definitely not a normal Cybertronian, though he doesn't know what. This is very secret knowledge

Later became a renowned scientist, researching both cyber-matter and sparks

Has a massive distrust of governments due to life experiences (the stuff from the Liege Maximo conflict being a significant part), and keeps his amassed secrets close. They don't like him either because he refuses to cooperate with them

Actually, I think that is all the stuff I have on him, just now far more condensed. Maybe I need to try the bullet point format more, might make my thoughts easier to read through. But maybe this means I don't have much for whenever I make more. Or I could cut out all the stuff from when he's an old man, I could do that too (I ended up doing that)

Some of these things are always subject to change, but this is just what I have right now
