I made a crossover AU between Ninjago and Transformers: Prime as a joke, and now I have a whole plot of Zane being sent to TFP's universe instead of the Neverrealm and meeting Starscream and both of them developing an unhealthy platonic (Though it'd be a really funny romantic ship) relationship together that parallels a lot of their own past relationships in different ways which I'm going to try to make into a longfic. Being the two most strongest villains, fighting each other is REALLY FUN for the both of them. They often look forward to whenever their next fights will be (it's usually fighting over something like a planet or something).

Dominator secretly gets real giddy whenever Reaper's coming. She starts (mentally) kicking her feet and cheering because she knows she's getting a REAL GOOD, +A, five star fight when Reaper's there.

Adaptations

I keep seeing people complain about visual adaptations not being “just like the book,” and while I do understand the frustration — how could any of them be a perfect match for the source material.

Certain aspects HAVE to change when transforming a novel into a live action adaptation (or even an animated one in most cases). Why?

For one, novels typically focus on a single character (or several) closely. It offers insight into their personality, thought process, motivations, etc. without (keyword) showing or saying anything. Characters in books don’t have to say or do anything for readers to get this information because books fill in those gaps.

In contrast, a visual representation HAS to show/tell in some fashion. And as a result, some things are just never going to make it to the screen.

Second, not everything in the source material is necessary to tell the story. I know this is often the hardest thing to accept, but it’s true. Readers tend to have more patience because they are living with characters much more closely (ie. back to point one).

This can work in both ways mind you — for example, most people I know prefer Katniss in the films than in the books. Why? Because you know more about her inner workings in the books.

Thirdly the actors. While they are (obviously) playing a character, those characters inevitably take on attributes of the actor themselves. Why? Because actors make choices and those choices might be based on what they think a character might do, or how they might react, but at the end of the day those decisions are still coming from the actor (and okayed by the director in most cases)

Win punches Team in the novel after he saves him — Boun said he wouldn’t. Why? Because 1) he wasn’t going to pretend to hit Prem and 2) because the Win he’s created would never punch Team.

And none of the above includes the original writer (who often spurs on changes to their live adaptation, making fixes they wished they’d done), the screen writer and editors (who have to make something that’s 300-800 pages into 10-13 episode - or worse… a 3hr movie), nor the director (who has to wrangle everything through both their and the creator’s vision)

Why do I bring all this up?

Because a lot of people continue to complain that “Book Babe would never do that!” “Book Charlie was so much better!!” “Book Thup would never be caught DEAD wearing a graphic T!”

And look, you can not like changes (see my multiple rants about Between Us for reference) but you can’t expect these shows to be word for word reenactments of the novels. That’s impossible, unrealistic, and (frankly) boring as shit.

› summary: shu's friends find it both hysterical and slightly concerning over how... feral you get over your boyfriend. shu decides to confront you over it after one too many teeth marks were left on his skin.

if there is one thing about you, it’s that you don’t fuck with your friend’s partners. you’re not dating them so why would you care what they do? as long as they treat your friends right and they’re happy, their relationship is none of your business. your boyfriend, on the other hand, is ALL of your business. this includes his friends.

when shu first introduced you to his friend group, you were quite nervous. he holds them in high regard, and you wanted to make a good impression on them. needless to say, the meeting went fantastically and you’re happy to say that you’re able to call them your friends now as well. however, with friendship comes being progressively more and more unhinged the closer you get. shu’s friends were no exception and are unfortunate witnesses to your more… feral moments.

this brings us to now.

shu squints at you from across the living room, purposefully keeping the couch in between you two to work as a barrier of sorts.

“why do you keep biting me.” the way he says it makes it sound less like a question and more like a statement. you blink at him innocently.

“i don’t know what you’re talking about,” you deny. he crosses his arms and your gaze immediately snaps to his biceps (they look particularly delicious in that tight t-shirt of his). shu notices where you look and sighs.

“babe, even luca has mentioned it at this point. you can’t keep doing it in public—i don’t understand why you even do it.”

you stare at him.

“i'm literally obsessed with you.”

the resulting flush is worth the loss of your dignity. shu spins on his heel in an effort to compose himself, but you can clearly see the bright red blush on his cheeks as he struggles to contain his obvious glee. clearing his throat, he turns back to you and schools his expression.

“right. that's kinda cringe, though. why are you being parasocial?” he deadpans. you narrow your eyes at him and he sweats.

“we’re literally dating. you're my boyfriend. if i wanna be obsessed and parasocial with you then i will. in fact—” the way shu’s eyes widen in surprise as you vault over the sofa will remain in your mind for days to come for how hilarious he looked.

“babe, NO—” his voice cracks as you bite into the flesh of his arm. “stop biting me!” he screeches, but with how hard he’s laughing it’s difficult for you to take his request seriously.

releasing him from your mouth, you reach up to pull his face down so you can kiss him. he shuts up real quick with that.

okay actually i'm not done auposting bc oh my god. oh my god bad end tweek. oh my god you poor poor thing. lives in such utter and complete isolation as a safety measure because everyone thinks he's dead and he likes it that way, because it's better, he thinks. because he's used to having to fend for himself and work hard (but he did have friends, once, plenty of them, who got used to his tics and liked having him around. but his own mind has never been very keen on recounting the positives), and because the one person who did do his best to stick around got possessed and tried to kill him. and now tweek lives in such complete isolation in the woods and has for literal years because he refuses to trust anyone, let alone get involved in anything. he's scared all the time he's bitter and he's lonely and. oh my god. oh my godddd tweeeeeeek

(and yet still craig has every faith that tweek is alive out there somewhere, far away from all this bullshit. even still those in the resistance who would have called him their friend mourn his passing when they have the time for it. tweek was and is loved, but he refuses to trust it.)
