I should preface this by say in my Engineering class, there are seven “girls” including me and eighteen boys so we would adopt her right away because we need more “girls”

So we do this thing every once in a while where our teacher will write a math problem on the board we have never seen before and leave the classroom for ten minutes so we have to figure it out on my own. Which is basically just us screaming at eachother for 9 minutes until one of us figures it out abd the last minute is us rushing to solve it. I think Madeleine would be overwhelmed at first but than i think she would say something and we would all shut up and listen to her solve it ✨together✨

I think she would’ve had tons of taking apart computers for obvious reason

I also think she would love making circuit boards but be scandalized because the there’s a tool we use while build circuit boards called a wire stripper and we make a lot of jokes abt it

“Where are the strippers?” “I don’t know, just throw some money on the floor and they’ll come to you”

“You need to speak to the Victorian girl about what again?” Axan asked.

“String matching and parsing algorithms,” Lucas repeated, walking to Morgan and taking her phone “The fact that she was born in the 19th century doesn’t mean she can’t be good at technology, as she’s told me she is. That’s stereotyping.”

“Damn, Miss Woolaham is a nerd. Okay, I’ll get her to you,” the ruckus returned as Axan went back into the room “Awfully sorry to interrupt your very interesting conversation on killer Mrs. Beeton, Rashid —I’m sure Madeleine is glad she survived all that bacteria on her feeding bottle.”

“Actually, my family employed a wet nurse,” came Madeleine’s polite voice from the speaker.

“Well, your mother must’ve been a lovely lady,” Axan said, undeterred.

“My mother did not to touch me on the basis that I might infect her my homosexuality.”

“Then I hope she died a slow, painful death. Lucas is on the phone and wants to tell you about string match and something algorithms. In my humble opinion, that is a much better topic than homophobic mothers.”

For a moment, no one spoke.

“Very well. Um, thank you, Axan.”

The Khosravi-fuelled ruckus quieted down as Madeleine got progressively farther. And farther. And farther.

“Lucas?” Madeleine eventually asked “I already know what string matching and parsing algorithms do.”

She did?

“You do?” Lucas looked like he wanted to adopt Madeleine then and there.

“Yes, Atalanta explained to me what it was and I’ve been tinkering around with Caleb’s computer. Nevertheless, that was a good cover to get me to talk to you.”

✨Headcanon time✨

Genevieve is Jewish. Ik ik she celebrates Christmas with the 19th cenqueery gang but hear me out. Imagine Madeleine going to visit Genevieve’s grave with Atalanta when she first arrives in Mirror. They collect rocks and when they go to put them on the grave, Madeleine starts crying because their rocks barely fit on Genevieve’s tombstone because there are so many other rocks and Madeleine starts to truly realize how much time has gone by since she’d been turned into a statue. (Also Madeleine decides to learn Hebrew and Yiddish later on as a way to honour her, like she did with Aaron and Sydney, only in a much healthier way)

Whenever Morgan does something badass and Lucas is proud of her, he doesn’t say, “that’s my wife!” He says, “I’m her husband!” Like “yeah, that bombshell of a woman choose me and my love of fucking CAD!!”

For his twentieth birthday, Sydney writes Camille a fairy tale about a boy cursed to be trapped inside his own body for all of eternity until he’s saved by his platonic Prince Charming and Camille and Marcus both get very emotional over it

Tbh I had never thought of characters's religions, ik the 19th cenqueery gang would probably have to be Anglican (although I think Camille would end up being an atheist) and that Saz are atheists because *yes* but from now on Genevieve is Jewish! Also, ik this was to talk about Madeleine/Genevieve, but I have to talk a little bit more about Genevieve being Jewish because I've just realised that one of her descendants is named after a fucking Jewish king lol, and guess who's also of (distant) Jewish heritage?

Ofc, I'd have to read on Scottish Jews, get more info on Judaism as a whole since Genevieve would be religious (and I'm sorry but my knowledge of Judaism is very poor), and probably ask you if a writing doubt arises? But, yeah, you've just made at least 4 characters Jewish/ethnically Jewish/of Jewish descent.

Anyways, Madeleine actually hasn't visited Genevieve's tomb, because it's it in the middle of the Aboveground Scottish's nowhere, it's private property, and Atalanta has very bad memories of the place (even if she doesn't know that one of the tombs there was Genevieve's, since this happened before TSC). But Madeleine will eventually visit her tomb, with Atalanta, maybe Diana, and someone else. I want her to know everything the 19th cenqueery gang did to remember her. And I want Madeleine to keep their memory with her --in a healthy way ofc-- so I'll try to see if I can fit in that scene!

As for Lucas, he's more the type to have a short-circuit every time Morgan does something badass, Xiuying probably has a 100-photo file titled 'Lucas.exe has stopped working' with his reactions, but YES. After everything they've been through, he won't shut up about being Morgan's husband when they marry. Listen, men from Mirror China don't change their surnames when they marry, but Lucas? Basically a paja mental about characters from the 19th century randomly waking up in current times (next gen).

AARON

He fucking tears up when he sees the 21st century and Madeleine living in it

He's had to fear for his life (because homosexuality was a crime under capital punishment) ever since he found out he was gay so seeing how society has changed (as he said it would) moves him to tears, he full on wails

The first thing he does after meeting Madeleine is going to pride (let's say it's June lol) and no one understands why this random dude is simply staring on with an odd face but Aaron's simply basking in the knowledge that the times had changed, that he in some way contributed to it by uplifting any queer people he met while in his timeline and that the struggles he and the others like him were worth something and look those two men are kissing

That being said, he is a Victorian man and is a tad bit (read: very) shocked by the kink side of pride

Aaron is general is shocked by the 21st century because he didn't expect to see pictures of near-naked people on the streets nor the types of clothing people wore

He hates being gay. Straight-up hates it because *points at Gaylord* call him gay and die he'd much rather be called a homosexual and that's how he calls himself

Sydney and him get married FAST and they choose to hyphenate

Onto the kinship lol

Finding out Madeleine is the biggest relief of his life, but relief is too small a word to encapsulate what he feels

Seeing that Madeleine was able to get married to a woman? Yeah he's happy beyond description and adores Diana instantly

It takes him a long while to stop referring to Madeleine as his fiancée (and Madeleine also struggles)

He fucking adores that Madeleine named her daughter after his mother (aka what Daniel would've named had he been a girl) and is 100% willing to hear Adelaide after Coraline

Btw Aaron loves Cal for reasons I can't say because *spoilers*

Aaron tries to be the best uncle to Marcus and Adelaide

Aaron spends a lot of time trying to understand the lgbt community because he sees Marcus being omnisexual, Adelaide being bisexual, Aaliyah being aroace, and Yeah being non-binary and there's a momentary short-circuit in his mind trying to process how little he knew and how much he has to learn

Also Aaron *loves* how accepting straight people (particularly Saz) are of his homosexuality, he meets Hunter, Arash, I was going to say Sohrab lol, Sekros, Cal, Atalanta, etc and is just so happy that a good chunk of the population is treating him like a human being with inherent worth and not someone unnatural. He loves the straight people in mirror

His overall satisfaction with the 21st century is 10000/10

Mostly like Aaron but in a more calmed way he doesn't cry much

But he kisses Aaron in the middle of the street and feels this power and freedom coursing through him when the knowledge of 'I can do this again and again and I won't have my employer (Aaron's father) legally murdering me' sinks in

He's also very happy that poor people aren't that poor as frequently and that (the UK) has stuff like public healthcare

He also hates being called gay

After marrying Aaron, the next thing he does is getting an education to have chances of becoming an author

He and Hunter are good friends idk why but they are they just have that vibe

Unlike Aaron, Sydney doesn't have the time for Adelaide's crush on Coraline. Not in a bad way, he just finds it too funny and Adelaide's struggle to find 'the right clothes' too nonsensical

He loves seeing Madeleine's life in the 21st century, he thinks motherhood and having a wife suit her

Also he was the one who tended to the wounds Gaylord inflicted on her, so he's at awe at how calm and happy Madeleine is now

Listen, Sydney had trouble understanding the technology behind corsets, he does NOT understand computers or phones or whatever

The first time he saw a movie he got very alarmed because he thought there were real, tiny people trapped in the screen

Then he saw Marcus watching a film were two guys were having sex and nearly faints because 'yOuR sOn iS cOnSUmInG pOrNoGrAPhY mAdeLeInE'

(ofc hearing Marcus --and Yrah-- talk about people he finds attractive leaves him like this :0 because Marcus is already dating someone and in Sydney's time admitting you were attracted to other people was something people did not do openly)

Really he loves how open people are compared to the Victorians but he could do with much less nudity, the only one he wants to see naked is Aaron (his husband!!!!!!)

His overall satisfaction with the 21st century is 9/10 (he really does not like technology)

When he learns that Madeleine named his son after himself, he is overcome by an overwhelming wave of relief and happiness

Also he loves that his nephew's partner is genderqueer. Marcus loves Yrah

He tries really hard to build a relationship with Madeleine to get to know his older sister (he also tried to apologise but Madeleine would have none of it because he was a fucking child)

He's as excited about LGBT rights as Aaron and specifically tries to learn everything about trans people to the point where he could do a test (the Spanish version, not the multiple choice thing they have in America) and ace it

He's very happy about what it could all mean to Camille and makes clear he'd be there for his husband regardless of what he wants to do

That being said, Camille and him have Talks. Since their marriage was arranged so that Camille could have a space he could safely express his masculinity in, and he technically doesn't need that safe space anymore. Marcus wonders whether Camille would want to get a friendly divorce and find himself a husband

In the end they decide they still want to stay married. They're two bros in a marriage because they're straight (yes, Yrah, Yitian, and Marcus (Zubairu) joke about that constantly)

(Marcus tells them that marriage means different things for different people, and to Camille and him it is just the expression of the height of platonic love --Odhran and Aaliyah overhear that and tell him Camille and him are in a qpr)

(Marcus acknowledges that Camille and him are in a qpr but 'thank you very much I'm still going to call mine a marriage')

Technically, Marcus could date if he so wanted to but he refuses to flirt with anyone nor be flirted on (sOrRy i'M mArRiEd tO mY bEsT fRieNd AnD i fEeL wEiRd aBoUt ChaNgInG tHe dYnAmiC)

When random people see him in the street, they think he looks like an asshole because he looks like a certain German's wet dream but whoever talks to him realised in an instant that he's super respectful in the same way a gentleman ideally should be and always calls out people's bullshit

But really he acts like a gentleman, Marcus is The Gentleman™ (and then you've got his nephew lol)

He's horrible with technology and he's always asking Camille to help him even if Camille is as lost as him

His overall satisfaction with the 21st century is 10/10

His first reaction is to support Marcus through everything he's going through with meeting Madeleine because what type of husband is Camille if not the best?

When Marcus is a bit better the realisation of what the 21st century entails for him hits him like a truck

At first he's in shock because Camille has as much faith in humanity as me in Spain's economy

It's all very overwhelming in a good way because he couldn't even have dreamt about it (really, I can't really explain how much of a hardcore pessimist Camille was)

It takes him a while to let his true gender identity through when he's meeting random people but when it does, his mental health improves a lot

Now, I can't discuss Camille without talking about Yitian

While I was researching about trans people and their experiences, I watched a video in Spanish where an (old) man said "Whenever I see trans boys, I get jealous in a healthy way because they're strong, they've begun their hormone treatment sooner, they go to the gym, etc" that is how Camille feels about Yitian because they're the opposite sides of the same coin (Camille could never start hormone treatment, Yitian could; Camille is not cis passing, Yitian is *very* cis passing; Camille's parents would've never supported him, Yitian's parents literally sat by his side and helped him choose his name --I have this headcanon that Morgan vetoed the first one for personal reasons a little boy should not be told but that is a story for another day)

Camille is just at awe at Yitian and very happy for him (Yitian --and Yrah-- has a lot of respect and admiration for Camille, too)

Camille and Yitian's relationship is beautiful and Yitian tells him about hormone therapy and stuff

Camille *thinks* about all that stuff and talks to Marcus about it (rubber duck debugging? Marcus is the duck)

Like Marcus, he treats dating like the pest

Aaliyah and Odhran tell him about QPRs and he begins philosophing (it has just come to my attention that that isn't a verb in English, well idc) about platonic love to the point where Aaliyah and Odhran, who just wanted to share their type of relationship, end up with these (✿☉｡☉) (╬☉д⊙)⊰⊹ฺ faces, get a headache, and refuse to speak about QPRs for a good week

Were he not with Marcus, Camille would dream of marrying the creators of YouTube

I mean, the moment he discovers channels like jubilee or those educational channels that teach you about philosophy/history/politics/etc he becomes obsessed because that's basically free education and if loves learning new info

Just picture him sitting cross-legged on a sofa with his husband laying his head on his lap while Camille watches a YouTube video on some random philosopher and that's a good portion of how he spends his evenings (Marcus, ofc, understands nothing but is happy just seeing his husband so interested)

Aside from YouTube, he hates technology. With a passion

(everyone is just happy he lived long enough to see cars and planes otherwise it would have been impossible to get him to travel via human ways)

5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?

I have no fucking idea.

I feel like TKC's characters are all very interconnected, and if you rid them of, at the very least, one other character, you rid them of a good part of what constitutes their character (and especially their arcs). Morgan's story can't be understood isolated from her parents and her siblings, for example. And don't even get me started on the characters in a symbiotic relationship.

However, had I to choose a character to make famous, I would say either Areusa or Cal, though for different reasons, and my answers would change depending on what I want to make them famous for.

I'd like to make Cal famous by virtue of she being a character that's like me in a lot of ways. I don't think I've seen many characters who are like Cal (I can think of Katniss? But then again I read THG a long time ago and can't remember if I actually saw myself in her) even if people talk about there being a lot of MCs that are 'not like other girls'. Idk, I just like tomboyish straight characters ig.

However, I genuinely think Areusa is an important character in the sense that I think her morals are on point. There's a lot of pessimism in her way of thinking (for what she's had to endure), yes, but she's just a good character, and probably the woman I'd like to be, in a way. Areusa isn't swayed by any type of ideology nor rhetoric: she thinks critically and criticises every side equally. She doesn't side with groups, but with certain ideas she finds beneficial, and is indifferent to demagogues's arguments. Also, she's very caring even if she doesn't look/act like it (I have a scene planned, and she'll be *very* important when it comes to Atalanta's character development). Areusa is just a good person, and I'm not saying I don't have any other good characters, but if I had to make a character famous based on what they stand for and the means through which they stand for their ideals, then I would 100% pick Areusa.

This is kinda difficult?

I feel like Cal and me would be really good friends since she's very similar to myself, but I'd also love to have Oliver as a friend or Hunter. I also feel like I would love to meet Dario because he's *intelligent* and *eloquent* and his mother because the amount of times I've imagined her criticising the Spanish government are uncountable and I would pay to see that irl. Also, one of Aaron's sisters (of whom I've said nothing beyond the Kirkhams's introduction post) is very like me in the sense that I also based her off me in a way.

So I guess I'd like to meet any of the characters above: Cal and Aaron's sister because they're much like me; Oliver, Hunter, and Dario because *yes*; and Areusa because that woman needs to be in charge of life.

I have this HC that a guy once confessed his feelings for him and Arash, being straight, couldn't reciprocate his feelings but he still became this guy's friend super fast and practically threw a party when he got a boyfriend. Idk if this speaks of Arash's cinnamon roll-ness, but to me Arash = too good to exist (unfortunately...)

Idk if this will get you angry since you know who she is but Arash's gf -> can't say anything because spoilers but yeah, there's a reason why literally all the Khosravis love her

So, I'm fucking worried about Charlie and Camille because I don't want to fuck up their characters lol. Especially Charlie. I've come to the conclusion that I'll probably write a sort-of-but-not-really book about Charlie/Arash/Sohrab because *something* will happen, and that's when I'll try to introduce Charlie's gender, and, really, I don't want to fuck it up in any way, but for some reason I have this fear telling me I will (not like the Danish girl, mind you, because that went beyond common sense).

Like, I remember you said it wasn't the place for a cis person to write a genderqueer person's journey with identity, and while Charlie's book *will not* revolve around that because TKC is not about that, her character arc somewhat will? And since then whenever I think of Charlie and remember that I think fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck--

Also, this is pity, but I know I can always consult you for general guidance, but I don't know how much to do it without spoiling it to you nor being annoyed lol

Mr Sohrab and Mr Arash had hastily stood up, whipping their heads at Madeleine at the same time. "We need to talk to you." they said.

"Please." added Mr Arash

"Now." added Mr Sohrab.

Madeleine blinked at them; her heart speeding up as anxiety knotted her throat. Her mind ran rampant with thoughts of Simone --feeling her presence subjugating Madeleine's own, her violation of her body and autonomy-- and what it would mean to be so close to a symbiosis without the protection of Atalanta's presence.

A cold hand set at the small of her back, steading her. At first, Madeleine thought it belonged to Atalanta, but it was actually Sekros who was holding her. He smelled strangely familiar, and his cold touch made it easier for Madeleine to control her breathing.

She could feel her curse unfurling within her, and she did her best to make it yield to her will.

"It isn't appropriate for a lady to be alone with two men." Madeleine muttered. A weak excuse in the 21st century and in front of Saz, but still.

Mr Sohrab looked shocked. "I'm an imlium."

"So what?"

"So what? Miss Woolaham, I'm--"

"Enough " Atalanta ordered; her tone coated in cutting ice "Arash, Sohrab, why do you want to talk to Madeleine?"

Mr Arash looked momentarily hesitant. "It's a private matter. You wouldn't understand because you're isolated Saz."

Madeleine didn't need to know the term to understand what it entailed. Not only did Mr Arash and Mr Sohrab want to speak to Madeleine away from those who could protect her: they wanted to talk about symbiotic relationships.

"No. Never." Madeleine shook her head. She retreated further into Sekros's arms "Please, don't make me..."

Listen to you excusing such impurity; justify the pain inflected on me --I lost Aaron and Sydney, everything-- be alone with you, see you. Don't make me remember her.

The ballroom became that of the Victorian times. Simone watched Madeleine dance with Aaron; the smile she directed at her held a promise of love, but his her true purpose from anyone but herself. Simone saw Madeleine, and saw a weapon.

"You have everything wrong about us!" Mr Arash's voice shook out of her Simone's memories "Maybe you can't notice it, but we see the way you look at us. You lean away from us --avoid even seeing us with our family--, look at me with almost painful pity, and Sohrab like he was a murderer." he looked at Madeleine straight in the eye "Sohrab is my life."

So this is kinda a random question but I saw it on my dash and my immediate thoughts were of TCK (Haoson): If you had to pick, what fairytale romance do you think describes your ships the best. This can be as vague/detailed as you want lol. And obviously no pressure to answer :)

Haoson (starting with them because they were your first thought): weirdly enough, Cinderella. Yes, Morgan is Cinderella because her story reflects Morgan's emotional journey --pain, happiness, PAIN, happiness-- and you'll want to kill me by the end of lodgb

Madeleine x Diana (I don't think there's a shipname?): 100% The sleeping beauty, I think it's pretty explanatory who's who here only that Diana didn't get to kiss Madeleine lol. Also, 'Aurora' wakes up after 100 sleeping, sees everyone she loves is dead, and has a huge existential crisis

Haovitt: I’m going to say a somewhat hesitant Mulan, because I know it’s your favourite animation-movie (I think?). I’m choosing Mulan because Cal and Hunter do a lot of stuff with the Emperor of China (Morgan) being kept in the dark. Also, they somewhat have this thing where Hunter/Li Shang teaches Cal/Mulan stuff about The Kinship/the Army

Vernitaker: a very vague Rapunzel, and Oliver is the ‘princess’ for *reasons*. And I have a scene planned in my head that can vaguely be explained through ‘hair’

Atalanta x Mysterious Guy We May Not Have Met Yet (this took me way too long istg): the take (?) of Pyramus and Thisbe :)

In a scale from 1-10 can you name your top 3 fics that were the hardest to write?

Hmm, that’s an interesting question. Because I am incapable of limiting myself to 3 (how do I have so many things on my masterlist??), I broadened it to 6:

Madeleine (Hoseok) (9): This was hard for a number of reasons. It was my first time writing anything over 20K. I changed/adapted plot points along the way. I was attempting to write a meaningful love story… while neither Y/N, nor Hoseok knows the other’s name. LOL it was hard! I drove myself crazy during editing.

Atalanta (Jimin) (7): The world-building was extensive. Tying together already-existing mythology with my fantasy world and attempting to make Y/N and Jimin’s story realistic… especially bc in so many Greek myths, the protagonists kind of suck. LOL 

Kakistocracy (Namjoon) (8): the detailed subject matter was time-consuming. Also, this piece was worrisome to post because it is a lot of very stark political views. As we all know… people can be very rude with the anon button. I spent a lot of time in writing/editing with this.

Monolith (Jinyoung) (9): gAh, I don’t even know why this one was so hard? The Y/N is so fierce and isolationist, it was hard to write her falling in love. I also was just going through a funk, so the editing process was a nightmare.

Prohibited (Baekhyun) (8): aslkfjal all the historical details about Prohibition, the mafia, suffragists… I drove myself crazy in editing.

Tales of Silver and the Wild, Wild West (Baekhyun) (7): likewise, all the detail I looked up for this fic… from Y/N and Baekhyun’s gun choices, to the location of the Bank, to the knowledge of silver mining. LOL it was a lot!

I think the common denominators are 1) Stupid long one-shots. 2) Detailed world-building, encompassing either: historical accuracy, detailed subject matter and/or extensive fantasy world-building. Anyways, thank you for this ask, anon!

Adelaide and Marcus headcanons

I feel like this is a good moment to say Marcus was a mistake

I mean, a lesbian couple can't make mistakes like Atalanta and MG, but he was definitely not expected to be born so soon after Adelaide

Diana and Madeleine wanted Madeleine to get pregnant first, therefore they tried to do that, and when they 'saw' that Madeleine 'hadn't' got pregnant because she was still having her 'period' a few months after, they decided perhaps Diana could try

Fun fact! Madeleine *was* actually pregnant, hers was just one of those pregnancies wherein you bleed a bit and stuff

So imagine her and Diana's surprise when they realise they now have to be pregnant at the same time (and to Diana's physical pregnancy you have to add the fact that Selvar was also feeling weird because of their connection)

Luckily for them, Caleb was successfully bullied into taking care of them whenever they needed it

Adelaide was born first, since it was Madeleine who carried her, and then Marcus was born around a month and a half later

Technically, they're obviously not twins, but everyone acts as if they are, including Adelaide and Marcus themselves

Literally. They call each other 'my twin' all the time, and sometimes forget they actually were birthed by different women on different dates

I should say that that doesn't mean Adelaide won't lord over the fact that she's older than Marcus and therefore wiser (or so she says)

Marcus, by contrast, will call her a hag if necessary

Anyways, they're pretty different, but have two major similarities that bond them: they're non-monosexual (he omni and she bi) and love astrology

Neither of them actually came out, it was just never supposed they were straight or any specific sexuality, and when they started talking about people they found attractive that was never questioned

And they actually like to watch movies together solely because they think the actors are hot

Usually, Selvar will watch the movies with them because he's a huge cinephile and a movie's a movie regardless of whether you have two teenagers paying special attention when an actor takes off his shirt

You can be sure those children had watched half of the age-appropiate movies on Netflix by the age of 11. Thanks, Selvar

Boy have they debated over what is better

Madeleine and Diana actually had to ground them because there was so much 'Mr. Spock is better than Yoda' 'you bitch' they could take

They love astrology. A lot

As kids they learned every planet on the solar system + their satellites + all those other nerdy things and told Madeleine and Diana all about it (who weren't much interested in that stuff but hey their kids look cute)

Also Adelaide and Marcus *love* bitching on astronomy together because that's not scientfic and hOw dArE thEy????

I should say that they are the set of siblings with the most connection to Aboveground because, duh, their mothers used to be human

And their relationship with Aboveground is kinda hard ngl. They love the black side of their family: their grandparents are great, love them a lot, spoil them to no end, etc. But they're also being kept in the dark about a lot of stuff, and that bothers them (and Diana, though she knows that's for the best)

Their white side of the family, though? Uf uf uf

They hate it with all their being, and will genuinely get moody if they're mentioned. They hate what they did to Madeleine and how the Woolahams were as a whole. The only one that's appreciated out of them are Agnes and Marcus W. No one else (okay, by marriage Camille)

And they actually consider Aaron and Sydney more of a family than the Woolahams (sans Agnes, Marcus and Camille). Naturally they're called Uncle Aaron and Uncle Sydney, because that's what Madeleine and Diana (and Selvar) called them while referring to them in from of Adelaide and Marcus

Onto a lighter topic

Marcus has always known Adelaide had a thing for Coraline, and if she didn't have it rn, then she would surely develope feelings over the future

Naturally, he was right, but it took Adelaide 17 years and a boyfriend breaking up with her because she was in love with her best friend for her to realise she, in fact, is in love with her best friend

Adelaide has been panicking for a while, and Marcus has nothing better to do than tease her for it. He's such a little shit he always remembers her that talking about the speed of the sun won't make art-driven Coraline Fall in love

(to that, Adelaide always proceeds to throw him whatever's in reach and tell him she doesn't fancy Coraline, which is an utter lie)

Adelaide wishes she could tease Marcus on his crush on Yrah, but, yk, Yrah and Marcus are dating and Marcus has always been upfront about his devotion to Yrah (Adelaide has seen his journal)

But Adelaide always make sure to tease him on any hickeys he comes back from Yrah's house with until Marcus is blushing so much he's a comment more from calling Diana and Madeleine over

By the way, they share a bedroom because they were put together as babies and haven't had the necessity to change to other bedrooms. The bedroom is *massive* anyways and more than enough to fit them both + multiple other people

Speaking of Aaron and Sydney, are we going to learn how they met and started a relationship or anything like that in Dear Mirror?

Nah. The first chapter, which you've already read, is the only one Aaron and Sydney actually make an appearance. The rest is straight (lol) to Madeleine becoming a statue.

However, in lodgb's first chapter --right after the prologue-- there's a flashback in which Madeleine is briefly explained how they got together. And last summer I entertained the idea of writing something about them (that's why, when you access the short stories post, there's a 'the boy and the valet' thingy). Actually, I began writing it, but my iPad --which I use for school-- ran out of space so I had to delete it along with an Atalanta-centred fic to be able to have enough space for Fernando's dick :(

I'm pretty sure I'll rewrite it, but rn I'm focusing on finishing Dear Mirror (of which I have the write the epilogue) and lodgb, which I hope to finish before schools starts again since, really, there's very little left. Calm before storm and all that shit.

What I can tell is that Sydney and Aaron have been together since they were roughly fourteen and partly thanks to Aaron's mother :)

The Stolen Child's Epilogue: Madeleine POV

The world was reigned by stillness.

Stillness silenced sound, suppressed any and all sensation, blinded sight, lured memories into a corner of unwavering forgetting. Everything was stillness.

Until it wasn't.

A ray of light shone through, cutting the darkness in half and awakening a self of sense in the statue.

You are Madeleine Adele Woolaham, the light told her.

Madeleine felt herself returning from the stillness. Slowly, she began piecing herself together: she remembered who she was, the people she loved --the two boys she'd entrusted herself to-- and her descend onto damnation.

As her body began softening with the disappearance of the stone that had once coated it, she thought of a beautiful girl. With the most beautiful face, the softest hair, and tenderest lips.

With the darkest, ugliest soul.

Madeleine opened her eyes slowly, feeling her lungs expanding to make room for oxygen that now seemed so foreign to her. A hand went to her heart; felt it beating beneath her palm. She looked down at herself, tried to spin around and was able to.

I'm back, Madeleine thought.

Madeleine looked up. For the first time, she realised she was not alone as her mind had subconsciously led her to belief. A group of people surrounded her in stupefaction.

She saw two women, hand-in-hand, whose eyes reflected a sort of puzzlement Madeleine could only begin to guess at. She saw a boy with dark hair and odd-coloured eyes; another boy with dark hair and the greenest eyes. Then a girl with dark skin that made her heartbeat quicken. Madeleine thought she would have stared and stared until she'd got drunk on the way the beautiful girl looked at Madeleine.

But then she saw her.

Next to yet another boy --this one with blue hair-- stood someone Madeleine's soul yearned for. Her red hair stood in stark comparison to her pale skin, and her manly clothes were nothing like the gowns Madeleine had got used to seeing her in.

Madeleine's breath hitched.
